Maybe its the point, that no matter what the killer does, 3 gens pop in the first 90 seconds.
It's the most weak attempt to defend camping by completely mutilating my point.
3 gens doesn't pop in 90 seconds if killer play with skill.
But yeah, your sentence can be saved with some adjustments: point is no matter how bad killer do camping/tunneling, good teams will pop gens anyway.

I had killer calling us gen rushers when he commited to claudette at the end like 2-3 minutes and we did 3 gens in that time. He didn't put any pressure on us and just chased claudette. He complained he had no fun when we gen rush and used meta perks. He had good start for the match as in first 5 minutes only 1 gen got probably done.
Oh, I can tell tons of stories like that. Once survivors were called "stupid genrushers" by Pinhead, match was pretty long, almost 30 minutes, I cleaned multiple of his totems, set 3 boons, spent 2 items obtained from chest, solved his cube 3 times only by myself, healed and unhooked, got 4 iri emblems in the end (that's why I remember it, I got 4 iris on survivor only 2 times in my life).
He just couldn't catch anyone, blame is on genrushing.
-
Absolutely agree, in 90% of the time killer runs after one survivor like a headless chicken, others have nothing else to do other than gens.
But against actual genrushers I only used 3gen, don't know what else you could do, really. Important thing is to detect genrushers as early as possible to set nice 3gen.
But I've seen genrushers no more than 5-10 times.

Just switch to killer. You´ll soon find out why killers do that.

tell you what, play a game of killer. Just one. And watch 3 gens pop in 60s
Lol! Love these suggestions. Never played killer. 5 gens pop in 1 second.
Ok, I played a killer. In fact, I played killer more than a thousand times, now what? The only reason I would think of camping is to sign under my incompetence, because camping and tunneling leads exactly to 3 gens pop in 90 seconds against good teams. Why would I do that?
-
Kindred is a huge pain in the bottom for campers. If devs ever dare to add it as basekit, the screams and wails of campers will be heard on the Moon.
Personally, I'm all into giving survivors Kindred, BT and infinite DS as basekit. Definetely won't affect me as a killer. I'm suffering from Spinechill+Resilience, Iron Will, strong medkits and other such things.
-
Hmm.... They should definetely remove t-bagging, because it hurts ego of some angry kids. But in the same time should keep hook slapping, fervent nodding, taunting and bleeding out, because that's healthy.
World would be much better if people looked in the mirror more frequently :)

Why SHOULD they keep it though?
It offers nothing except negatives.
Nope. Don't talk for everyone. Flashlight clicks give me only positives, it is free "Infectious Fright", I always know where survivor is and from which side.
If flickering images hurt someone, they shouldn't play this game, and nothing wrong with that, I gave example in previous comment.
But if someone's ego hurt (and they are too cowards to acknowledge it), then they should suffer and there's no place for them in the game.

It is harmful to people who are sensitive to flashing lights or solid light. A lot of video games will include flashing light warnings, so it's not wrong to say that flashlights with macro clicking could be harmful to someone with a condition that can't handle it.
@Pulsar said:

People who are even slightly photosensitive can be affected.
Likewise, even if you aren't, they can trigger headaches.
Then the very least, BHVR should add warning at the start screen to avoid any sue issues. DbD has lots of flickering images, repeating sounds and disturbing content. Sensitive people should have a warning and not playing the game. Like I don't eat food I'm alergic to, or doing sport that I can't after a trauma.
So yeah, the only thing devs should do is place warning on start screen.
-
No. RPD is fine. DH was fine also.
-
I know your feeling. I had playtime lopsided to killer like 80/20, but as long as I'm achievement hunter, good times are gone and I had to spend lot's of time on survivor, so now it could be even more than killer's :(
Wish I could see personal statistic somehow.

Talking about limiting how many times you can click per second.
Macro's and scroll wheel flashlights are potentially harmful and should go.
And it's harmful how? Just curious.
-
Eh... You're ok? You are talking about removing flashlight clicks or I didn't understand?
Flashlight clickers is the best what I could ask as a killer.
-
Let me guess, survivor happen to open up gate and escape, and that damaged your ego?
You don't need EGC if you skilled killer and do everyone before last gen popped, think about it.
-
Two times I met killers that allow me to pick glyph, and about 5 times when they give a hatch. But the majority are sweaty and hysterical. It's worrying how many insecure, angry and low-self-esteemed people play killer. As if they not playing the game for fun, but trying to find some self-assertation and imaginary revenge on cruel world.
I alway let survivors do challenges and let last one go. I even gave more than 50 "left for dead" achievements.

the best solo tip is to actually try get a friend.
This one. Because no matter how perfectly you try to perform, almost every match you'll have blending Claudette, crouching Bill, cocky Nea that dies on first hook and DC immediately, benevolent Meg which rushes to just hooked survivor and getting down under that hook, but the most frequent and our favorite: camping/tunneling every second match.
Playing survivor make me cry.

@Ciabe said:
Thanks Serje, I think that is the best suggestion; Just little things to get more points. Still frustrating that there is little you can do with actual hope of winning. Like playing late game monopoly.
In that scenario you don't play for win. You play for "loot": pips, experience, bloodpoints.
-
Where did you get it about the nurse? Same logic for "no one play artist", "No one play Dredge" and "No one use boons"
-
Very common situation, that's what I do: gather pip points as much as possible trying not to depip.
- Stay away from another surivivor. If he is hooked and killer not camping and looking for you, you can sneak to survivor and unhook him, but immediately separate, no healing. That way you get a little Benevolent points.
- Do gens if other survivor is camped or run killer -> lightbringer points
- If killer is on you, try to loop him as long as possible, pallets are free now (get evader points + hone your looping skill) Couple times I even survived 3 last gens, running the killer while my remaining teammated finished all gens, opened gate and bodyblocked me.
- If your teammate is hooked and almost dead, hatch play and door play (i usuall go for the door immediately, looking for hatch on the way)
- - hatch play: sweep the area for hatch as far from killer as possible
- - door play: if killer found hatch find spot near the door where you can walk and hide, open gate to middle of letter "C" in the word "Escape", when killer come to check, walk and hide, when he goes to the other door, open gate to the full (doesn't work on many killers, noed and door spawn could nullify it also)
If you're facecamped, which is 30% of the matches, then you can suicide to give your teammate a chance to escape, pip's cannot be saved in that scenario.
-
I'm doing last ditch effort to get Rank 1 Survivor, and have 11 days left. And I'm gathering statistics about SoloQ, will post results in the end of DbD month. Spoiler alert: results are very grim for survivors :)
-
Can't agree with you, she is much more fun to play than Dredgie. Can't explain why too, but she had immediately stuck in my main roster. And she definetely need buffs.
And seeing how many people talk for her warms my heart.
Looks like devs hit the spot, but it's like "3 minutes intercourse", not enough. Need to try harder.
-
If I wanted to join great BDSM society and seek pain and suffering, I definetely would. With new meta I could have 30 health states, what good it would do if I couldn't do a single gen.
Looks like matches will be extremely boring and long with SWF and completely miserable for Solos (but I don't know is there any way for Solos to be more miserable)
-
Your videos make me curl in bed, enfold knees and cry... It's like posttraumatic experience come back.

I posted this in another thread, but some of my ideas:
Not all of these, but maybe a combination of some of the following:
Increase the rate condemned builds, make survs exposed while carrying a tape.
Make bloody fingernails basekit, teleport sound omnidirectional.
Cut tv "off" status by half, give her a speed boost (to movement and breaking actions) while demanifested.
Make her completely silent/invisible (no lullaby) while demanifested, decrease manifesting/demanifesting transition time.
Have all survs within (small, <10m) radius of a TV exposed for 5 secs when she TPs.
I think buffing condemnation in some way is a must, though. It's useless as is.
If by any chance devs read this, I also add:
- condemn points on hit
- Iri Tape basekit
- increase number of tv's
- while demanifested: ignore pallets + fast vault
-
It would be definetely much more easier for me to play killer now, and I already have in mind multiple "OP" perk combos.
As for survivor (I talk only about SoloQ) it will be complete disaster. It is now a massacre 80% of matches, will be even worse. Build-in BT almost nonexistent (so regular BT have to stay), decisive nerf is a super damaging and entices to tunnel, overall chases will be quicker, camping and tunneling will be more fruitful.
Meta is shifted, but with new gen regression era (jolt, overcharge, etc) I doubt solos could do any gens. 0K will be absolutely never an option (until you are matched with very-new killer player), it will be 3-4K every match, depending on killer sweat and/or hatch game.

Well, I always reach Iri ranks with survivors, but with killers I normally just reach gold ranks, because I just can't muster the strength and mental endurance to do so. But I guess it can easily be reversed.
That's kinda surprising, because I got to Killer Iri 1 several times just by normal playing, but for survivor's iri 1 I grinded for months with no success (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/326586/cannot-get-my-last-ahievement-legendary-survivor-rank-1)
Now I do my last attempt (before killer buffs), it's now or never. But I already heavily stuck at gold.
Why it is surprising: because it's hard for killer NOT to play game. You can got 0K, you can be outplayed or something, but you always get lots of devious points, chase points, even lightbringer if don't tunnel. You always do something.
As a survivor you can be hooked and camped at the start. Someone else can be hooked and camped, and you just do gens and leave, or try to save and die. All this leads to depiping. And nothing you can do.
So again, if you are not tunelling and caming, there are always be pips. I don't remember more than 5 games where I got 0K. Even 1K is not too often (and I DEFINETELY NOT a pro super killer). Just playing every match as if I try to get Adept (but with normal perk loadout).
-
Bad thing that it require other people to complete it also, you can't do them in advance. I gonna miss Heidi's mask cause I go away until tuesday, and no way I could finish last two challenges before 6pm on workday.
-
Wait, are you talking about killer or survivor pip-depip cycle? Because I only have on survivor what you described.

I thought about it but the Killer aura will be a bit too much information for free.
Not at all. I'm glued to Kindred just because of this, to see that someone is camped, or show everyone that i'm camped (which is extremely often). All other applications are secondary, just to save time.

No. It just means the Killer you play the most or like playing the most is Legion.
As far as i know at least.
i call myself a Legion Main for this exact reason. They are fun, and balanced.
No, I know what "main" means. I'm Sadako main, for example. But there's some joke about Legion Main, that I heard multiple times, and I don't quite get it.
-
Higher kill rates?
5K per match?
-
You just don't camp enough. You should camp harder. Lacking of camping leads to genrushing.
But seriously, I don't know how to comment this seriously. In all my matches as a survivor, 5 minute game is only in two cases:
a) killer facecamp and others just doing gens
b) killer facecamp and others trying to unhook victim and all die in a process
As a killer, I saw genrushers only twice, real genrushers, not what most players are talking about (when they apply 0 pressure and other three survivors freely do gens) . And real genrushers were 4 SWF with PT, toolboxes and BNPs. They literally did 3 gens in less than 2 minutes (also it didn't help one of such team). Only 2. So please.
So yes, I expect there will be a lot SWF gen builds now, just to be on par with new reality. SoloQ is f'd though.
-
Dunno about survivor saying EZ, but I can speak only for SoloQ. Bu every 10th killer player say EZ and Learn to Play, while facecamp, hard tunnel and using noed. Especially funny see that from Nurses.
-
As much as I hate NOED being used as a crutch perk, I'd add a simple addon (even without this "seen at 4 meters" and "seen after 30 seconds") - just notify everyone about exposed status immediately after last gen is popped, like any other perk/addon/skill do.

I actually started writing down stuff during the event too. One thing that stands out for me is that during the first week of the event I survived and escaped through an exit gate roughly 50% of my solo matches - and I didnt count farming matches or killers letting me go as the last survivor towards my statistic at all.
This number dropped significantly this week. I'm now lucky to escape in one of ten matches - which feels like my usual solo experience. A lot of the killers feel newer as well so I'd often be the last person alive.
The difference? To me it seems the quality of teammates significantly declined. For the first four days of the event I was actually paired with people that kind of knew what they were doing. The way a general shared game sense among survivors. I'm now back to being matched with survivors that don't last ten seconds in chase or try to heal my when I'm broken.
I do wonder if that has something to do with an overall higher number of players when the event started? I'm low MMR, I know that, but I have game experience. And it seemed I was matched with people like that.
A 50% escape rate felt great by the way! It didn't feel like it was to easy but it was nice to have the odd success. I do worry about solo queue as well as I know new players will still bring Self-care!
I wanted to also write more detailed match scenarios, but, frankly, too lazy. Regarding yesterday table I posted in the head, I cannot blame almost any survivor. They were useful, they commint, they unhooked, they drew killer from hook, baited, flashlight saved, mindgamed etc. So very very proper survivors, majority of them better than me no doubt. But still it is really sided for killer. What will be after patch, I don't even want to think.
Probably 4SWF team will be mandatory to play DbD, like internet or PC/console.

@Nazzzak said:
It'd be interesting to see survival stats for swfs vs solo. I feel like swfs probably skew survival results. Could be wrong of course, just wish we had that break down though
Yeah, that would be interesting in general. Also it would be cool if someone record his results for both solo and SWF, like 100 matches lone wolf and 100 matches with the strike team. I'll continue recording results until 13th, but, alas, only for SoloQ.
-
You're kidding, right?)
It was very strong perk before, now it's a complete gen-destruction machine and slug magnet. You want to buff it even more? Your greed has no limits, sir!
-
When this crap will be rolled out? Looks like it's my final chance to try to get Rank 1, and I'm already stuck at gold 3 (depiped 6 matches in a row, with 5 facecampers straight)
-
No, you are not overreacting, soloq is doomed. It is nearly impossible now, would be completely impossible in future (unless they remove camping and tunneling, but looks like they will not)
-
Maybe great idea would be mimic few interactible objects, replace by yourself 1 gen, 1 chest, 2 lockers and 2 windows. When survivor interacts with mimic, he in the manner of Hag takes control of that mimic and do nasty stuff to survivor.
UPD: what if you also could consume half-repaired gen, then real gen move to new position but mimic simulates the undone gen, waiting for unaware survivor. That chaos would add a lot of fun to stale gameplay.
-
You're not alone, Blight is much harder than Nurse and Billy to me, like Oni (the one I couldn't handle too).
-
I have trillions on all killers, because they are the only ones I'm leveling. I don't level my main survivor (because they are all the same) and she has nothing more to level, she has everything, except flans, all are spent already.
-

- A giant spoopy spider that drops down on survivors from above.
- A plant based killer that can teleport to trees.
- Some sort of summoner that creates independent minions to hunt down survivors.
- A Xenomorph
- The Thing
All The Thing ideas crush on SWF.
And personally I really against Xenomorph, I fed up with him (so as with Predator), they are EVERYWHERE.
I'd add some mechanical killer, like some robot with blades, that can put fake generators, or transorm into generator, or do something with generators.
Also it would be cool to have some nonhuman nonanthropomorphic creature (but I know, it would be pain for devs to animate it)

I don't hunt for grammar mistakes and didn't even address your message?
I just saw your comment somehow as boasting about an unrealistic playtime and called it out.
Seems i got it wrong and it was the other way around if you have "only" 1200 hours in this game and are one a normal level, my bad then.
But there are more than enough people on this forum boasting that they played over 10k hours and I personally think that that's not an achievement to be proud of, hanging roughly 20-25% if their last 6 years infront of a PC/console and playing the same repetitive game.
Yeah, but point was not about boasting, but that with such "experience" I'm rendered bad. Ok, I'm completely good with that, I definetely not think I'm any good and never ever said otherwise. Question was what with so many other people? They have HUGE playtimes and still bad? There're only few very good? Then is this game made around 10% pro players? Otherwise it's statistically imposible that I'm matched almost only with bad players (and personally I don't think they bad in a slightest, but maybe that's my "bad player" opinion).
TL;DR if all my teammates, besides me, dies almost every match, having huge playtimes, how it is possible that there are so many, that I matched with always, and almost never with mythical gods, which are plenty, if we believe some comments.

maybe if survivors stopped having so many second chances perks, people would stop tunneling and camping
*just don't expect bubba players to change*
Lol! That notion "we" and "them". So, there's some nation you belong, and some evil opponents you oppose, right? Not that it's the same videogame player as you are, right? 😊

Do I smell sarcasm?
Yes and no. Sarcasm - definetely yes. But I think restricting people, no matter how low they are, from expressing themselves won't do any good. We could remove any gestures from survivors (just not to hurt any killer feelings), we can remove endgame chat at all, remove killer ability to look vertically.... But miserable kids will always find a way to harass opponent. Cull functionality just to protect some sensitive people won't do any good, but only confine normal people. Censorship is evil.
-
No problem with that. I think lot's of gestures should be added, like clap, point down and others. That will help build healthy community.

@Mandy said:
honestly?
It depends on how I play. I am super altruistic and also use things like Head On builds - which are definitely not the strongest builds I could use. I am the person who will go for that risky save at the end of the match and take hits for team mates etc.
I tend to play for BP though and to enjoy chases, so I don't really focus on whether I survive or not - getting 18k-22k per match without escaping is ok with me.
I kinda agree that escape is not the "universal measure" and that's why I still think it's a bad idea to make it sole variable for MMR.
I'd better made another post like OP, how often you pip (escpecially on red). Because if you pip, you "played", participate in some action, not just camped on a hook in first minute to death.
But with that statistic I'd have 20% pip, 40% depip and 40% black pip. And that hurts.
Playing for keeps, playing for pips.
-
30% in general, 10% in first three event days.

Sorry, don't know about Trickster, but good Hag really don't do any legwork.

Damn, 1200000 hours in a game that is out for 52560 hours, impressive /s
And even if you claim to have 12k hours in this game, that's negatively impressive hanging on average closel to 6 hours each day in DBD exclusively.
"K" is typo, don't nitpick.
Oh I see, you're hunting for grammar mistakes in comments. Well, if that somehow nullifies the message, I cannot add anything.
