  • SBMM definetely better than RBMM, it's just implementation is garbage (linking it to kills and escapes).

Ranking system was liked because it randomly gave casual players you can taunt and slaughter. Now if you kill a lot, you're matched with those who escape a lot. Who is that? Right, meta tryhard premades.

Going back to ranking system probably completely kill any desire to play for casual players (getting wiped everytime and getting lot's of taunts and insults in endgame chat from salty killers is no very fun thing if you play couple hours after work). SBMM have to be reworked, it is talked about since release.

They did some SBMM testing, though, we don't know about results and what did they test out, "quod licet Jovi, non licet bovi", but i'm still curious what did they come to in the end (high chance resolution was "aaaah, to hell with it, don't care")

Because the only thing I see personally is in linking rating to chases, hooks in short term, plus perks and addons as a long term.

That my idea has flow too, because it rolls out red carpet to campers (thay will stay at low MMR and be ok with it, getting super easy kills each match), but that story for another day (to make camping super unviable in first place)

  • He doesn't have emotions, what good is he for Entity? Don't think he fits in horror killer roster, but I think we don't have any mechanical killer yet. Should be, but not Terminator. He is stale and done to death (same goes for alien and predator)

Yes, literally has no counterplay. Someone mentioned stuff survivors can do that disables it, or that you can slug, but leaving someone slugged is literally not playing. Letting them run off and do something is not playing. "CounterPLAY" implies there is something the killer can do to stop the perk from working. If the exit gates are open and the survivor can crawl out before DS runs out, they are literally invincible. That is what having no counterplay means.

In that scenario (crawling out + dc) he can't do anything and shouldn't. He failed, and must swallow this bitter pill. Another example: killer found hatch before last survivor and the latter nothing can do literally. Why no complaints there? Maybe add 5 hatches?

Can someone explain to me why the park should deactivate in the endgame? I have seen so many people suggest that. I don’t really understand it tbh. I think the perk is fine the way it is.

Because it's hard to camp and get easy downs with NOED. What you suggest? Put some effort and play skillfuly during the match? Don't be ridiculous! Also all pallets, windows and second chances perks (probably it's about all perks) should... no, MUST be removed.

Enjoy the bloodpoints! I got Iri 1 on killer and I tried to get it on solo survivor but I didn’t because… actually I should have just stopped at “solo survivor”.

Interesting how on this forum it is a little close to real experience I feel by myself. On Steam when I say something like that, I get: "Wha? Dude, you're daft? You can't loop killer for 5 gens around one tree? You have no arms, right? I escape 100500 times in a row while eating, watching TV and speaking on the phone at the same time. You don't? You stopped at development in 3 years old? Killer easier? Each time I play killer, all 5 gens done in 3 seconds and every time I swing survivor use DH towards one of 345 god pallets on the map. You don't have that? You're just on low MMR, nub, my MMR doesn't fit 64 bit integer"

  • Don't sit around another, how to put it, *put-a-word-here-describing-intellect-of-a-fish* camper, hoping that he'll suddenly play normal and go pressure other survivors. In short, have a Kindred, for heaven's sake! Or at least pay attention when others have it....

  • Yep, and I cannot get it for 4 months in total. I hate playing survivor, it's so painful and... depressing. Yeah, depressing is the right word. It literally painful to play, I do it again only for the last achievement. In the morning I was Iri 3 with 4 pips, now I'm iri 3 with no pips. Camper, DCer, camper, DCer, nonstop. I don't understand ones that say survivor is more enjoyable. It's hard and ungratefule job, not a game for fun....

Very well played. I am devotion 7 and i still have not got iri 1 as survivor. I'm hardstuck gold 😂

Ooooh! I know that feel, bro! Don't get desperate! I nearly am! 😁

  • Congrats! Really envy you (in a good way). I stuck at Iri 3 and cant move past it. Any tips for those who still suffering? :)

UPD: sorry, started to write comment, and match began. When I was done, you've already put some tips. Anyway, congrats again!

BTW, what did you do agains campers, tunnelers and dc'ers?

  • Looks like the ones you call "killer main" don't know how to use their time usefully. I considered myself a killer main, but I can't say 90% of the time DH hinders me or eating it is not my fault.

But I don't understand why it called "second chance perk" also. It's just a perk you play around. Like going on high ground with BL on purpose. In that case I could name dozens of "second chance killer perk" like "Pop gives you more time as you failed to apply pressure properly in time".

  • So far it's the best exhaustion perk to me, helps me stall killer for another 30 seconds and give some time for my team, instead of going on a hook immediately.

  • As I root for Sadie very much, and see how many people concern about that too, I duplicate my thought about buffs from another post:

Double-triple curse rate / double TVs number / drastically remove TV cooldown / curse on hit / Iri videotape into basekit / remove manifest speed penalty / ignore pallets while demanifested / make lullaby whole map wide or remove it at all.

Hope devs do at least something. Not exactly from my list, but anything.

  • That happen so much and so frequently, it's appaling! PC players blame console almost as often as I get 1 million dollars a day. Something must be done with that!

"But then: 2 guys disconnected immediately, I depiped. Then I ran Legion for 5 gens and got down by NOED, depiped. Then two guys bully killer and died in first 3 minutes, got at least black pip. And finally got killer that tunnel and camp, with obvious result. Now I'm almost back at the beginning of the Iri 3. And I think in a few hours will be rank reset and all my month efforts again is in vain."

    Scenarios:

1). You have no control over other people. This happens in DBD (and every other pvp game) and will happen in DBD unless you're in a 4-man SWF every game - There is nothing that can be done by any player to alleviate this, although it bones over everyone, killer included. In the war of attrition to get to Iri 1, you just have to play enough games so that outliers like these aren't the norm.

2). Whenever the killer is super focused on me and the gens are almost done, I'll try to dump them on a teammate. If I've literally run the killer for the whole game (doesn't happen very often, tbh, you may be wayyyyy better than me if you can do it consistently), other players will usually run interference for me before the last gen pops because they want Boldness/Altruism/some sort of interactivity before end game. These other players are completely random, but this is generally the norm for me, anecdotally, not the exception.

Another point about this is that if you're 'playing for pips', you may want to try and dump them earlier, as running the killer for 5 gens and escaping isn't going to do much for your Lightbringer/Benevolent emblems.

3). Easiest way not to get tunneled/camped out of the game immediately is to not be the first person caught. As you rank up, getting people that make plays you can react to and vice-versa becomes more and more frequent (with the odd potato field, every now and then). People will also be more inclined to run interference for you if you're doing well/contributing.

"So, if you're not a troll, tell me, what secret mechanic am I missing?"

If you're escaping 1/10 games, your mmr is tanked and you're playing with players of similar mmr - Being Iri doesn't mean you're good.

You can play chill/casually for most of the month and make it ~3/4 of the way there so long as you're contributing enough to your emblems (you can even dedicate perk slots specifically to healing/gen progression/etc to speed this up), then tryhard for the rest of the month to get to Iri 1 against killers you normally wouldn't even be matched with that allow for way more opportunities to interact with them/the other players.

Thank you very much for response!

I am really not that good, obviously, and can't consistenly loop killers to death. Otherwise I would get it long time ago. It's just that majority of teammates have them, but they half of the time play terrible (maybe doing challenges, maybe just don't care).

I'll take in mind "dumping" tactic, maybe it help on the next "rank 1" run. Also about "quantity over quality", to flood bad matches with number of games: steam shows me I played 65 hours in two weeks. It's WAY too much for me, don't think I can afford at least the same in future, not losing real life 😄

All and all, it's just... you jumping out of your pants, getting 4 pips of 5, and then: camper-dc-camper-bully-nurse-dc-camper-nurse, and voila, you are at the bottom again. And then people say that survivor is easier role (on Steam notion that survivor is hard is like some sort of an insult)

Anyway, gg, and thank you again.

  • I'm so glad so many players speaking for Sadako. She is really nice killer.

As for the topic, TatsuiChiyo put it very nicely. I only can add what I do:

I'm always in invisible mode, unless i'm hitting a survivor in a couple of seconds. Without red stain they tend to do some mistakes and that's most of the time enought to get a hit.

She is really benefit from slugging. Down one survivor and hook much worse than injure 3 or 4 of them. Slug two, if you don't see anyone around to chase or don't know which gen to interrupt, then hook.

She is incredibly perk and addon dependent. I run Bamboozle to shut down most of the loops, but some guy another thread suggested pallet-grinding perks. Anyway, the idea is to compliment her with perks that help her in chase somehow, as she can't do much without them.

STBFL also is very good perk on her.

Also a good idea is to throw in some gen slowdown perks (I like Surge, as I do more downs then hooks).

Some addons like when survivors spreading curse while healing can help you very much, as they will start to go for TVs, but playstyle will completely shift to heavy slugging (which I don't like very much, personally).

Tricky part is to understand which side TV is and can you use it midchase. If can, use it, it benefit a lot.

Also you better pay attention which TV is suddenly turned off without your help. Maybe survivors slamming gen there, or picked up the tape, always good time to pay them a visit.

In general: no long chases, you should be everywhere at once. Most of my matches survivors only heal themselves all the time.

I hope she get's boost from devs. She deserves.

  • I noticed that NOED always on campers/tunellers. After that just on not very good killers. Wraith is most picked, because he is in the base game and has very easy controls (comparing to nurse or billy, for example). So easiest killer + easiest perk + easiest scummy tactic = popularity.

Second most NOEDded killer is Legion (also pretty easy to control).

    @Raccoon said:

I don't have an issue with totems and/or NOED in my solo Q games...I also have no problem leaving when it procs as Solo, although it's usually cleansed before it allows for more than 1 down/hook.

If I do run into a crazy string of NOEDS, I'll add some totem hunting to my build.

    Crazy, I know.

Maybe I'm just at a higher MMR or something where NOED isn't really impactful...I certainly find playing Solo a lot easier/more enjoyable than the majority of posters here.

Then again, I'm running Self-Care, you know?

A little offtopic, if everybody exuse me:

Raccoon , I hope you're not trolling and ask you to give me some advice. I find it almost physically painful. A made a post about it recently, I'm trying to grind my very last achievement "Rank 1 survivor" and I feel like I'm close to a microbreakdown. It looks impossbile. I have 1200h+ playtime, played killer twice more time than surv, but now it looks like it reversed.

I'm trying to get it this month also, and this morning got my best result and almost, just almost got to Iri2

    User: "Untitled.png"

But then: 2 guys disconnected immediately, I depiped. Then I ran Legion for 5 gens and got down by NOED, depiped. Then two guys bully killer and died in first 3 minutes, got at least black pip. And finally got killer that tunnel and camp, with obvious result. Now I'm almost back at the beginning of the Iri 3. And I think in a few hours will be rank reset and all my month efforts again is in vain.

I don't know if you're some survivor prodigy or just trolling, but in my experience is incommensurably harder. I escape 1 time out of 10 (so numerous teammates I'm matched with). I would like to emphasize this fact, because I would understand if I'm competely bad, but I what with other people then, why do they always die?

So, if you're not a troll, tell me, what secret mechanic am I missing?

This one has been my go-to for a bit. I used to do Enduring but since I like call of brine so much I think Brutal was more useful for the final slot.

Corrupt is a no-brainer since her TVs are not even active for the first 30s so it gets you through her powerless early game. BBQ because she is probably the best BBQ user in the game

I also hate playing her without Reiko's watch since it makes her feel much more like a ghost to me

Interesting, I'll give it a test run.

I ended up on Bambozle (she really suffer without this), MYC, BBQ/Tinkerer and Surge/Pop.

Second of my favorite killers that I sacrificed Corrupt Intervention (first is Artist, she doesn't need it). Sadako is heavily perk dependant, they mostly carry her, so I don't feel right to use one time perk. I'd better lose one gen, but will be equipped for the rest of the game. But that's my playstyle.

Yeah, she need a buff hard. We'll hope for the best, Plague got her buff after all...

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    • 100 second projection cooldown. Survivors can disable it for 60 seconds.
    • TV placement is very impractical, far away from generators and not facing them.
    • She emerges too slow from TV and can be blinded during it.
    • 24 meter directional lullaby.
    • Condemnation takes minutes to build up and seconds to remove.

Personally i don't think her design can be saved, it's flawed at a core level. I think if her kill and pick rate is low enough she should be reworked.

I second that. Also she is terribly perk dependant as she has zero antiloop and totally in a grace of player and survivors without them.

I maining her since release and she is ultra fun to play, and I think that she could be saved. I'll copy my suggestions here:

Double-triple curse rate / double TVs number / drastically remove TV cooldown / curse on hit / Iri videotape into basekit / remove manifest speed penalty / ignore pallets while demanifested / make lullaby whole map wide or remove it at all.

Even one of these would help a lot. Two would be a bliss.

  • Camping in general is not healthy for the game. I personally know 4 people who stopped playing because of that.

  • Played so much her, didn't have a slightest idea. Thank you!

Also I totally agree, she is very weak in comparison to others and very perk dependant. She needs pumping up.

In case some devs come across, some ideas: double curse rate / double TVs number / drastically remove TV cooldown / Iri videotape into basekit / remove manifest speed penalty / ignore pallets while demanifested / make lullaby on a whole map or remove at all. OR EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE (oh, desires, desires...)

Plague got some love recently, I hope Sadako will got some too.

  • Well, to play more than 4 minutes you better give survivors something to do, other than gens. Healing for example. Running only after one survivor and then facecamping him in hope that you have casual survivors that come to you as easy prey? That's more fun?

When I play survivor, I want to play a game that lasts more than 1 minute! Other time i either do skillchecks on gen or dangle on hook getting slapped.

Sadako main, btw (in case there would be suggestions like "ouf, you play nurse-blight, bla bla bla")

  • @ad19970 said:

Let's hope it gets addressed with the big perk update. I am very hopeful that at least BT will be basekit, but I agree that that wouldn't be enough. There needs to be more.

Your idea of having the hook timer paused is flawed though, because survivors could than just rush the hook, or run the killer around the hooked survivor, and the survivor on the hook would be safe. So it would need quite a few prerequisites, and at that point I fear it would become too complicated for a base mechanic. I personally think they should just increase each hook phase duration from 60 to 80 or 90 seconds. That alone would make camping much more unviable.

And then they should remove the ability to be able to grap survivors that are unhooking. The fact that that is still in the game is mindboggling to me. Some people might argue it's to punish hook rushing, but in the end it mainly just makes camping way stronger, hook rushing can be punished enough by just hitting the unhooker twice, with just a bit of awareness as the killer player.

Btw, I heard such objection before, but don't quite understand. If survivor running killer around the hook, the hooked one still do nothing useful. Thats the super enhanced slug, what more you need? So it already need third survivor for unhooking, that means only one doing gen. This is super snowball scenario. The timer doesn't do anything.

If you ever noticed as survivor, the camper match usually ends not because of the timer, but because teammates rush to the hook like blinded sheep, ignoring even Kindred and not doing gens. That's the main point why camping doesn't work on SWF. So timer is definetely not the issue here.

Anyway, if your ideas would be implemented somehow, like increasing timer and remove hook grab, that already would be something. At least something.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2994352#Comment_2994352

Skillchecks do not appear when the timer is paused. We know this because that's what Camaraderie does.

No problem to add them if this mechanic take place. Or simply add button like "Give in to Entity..." Many ways could be implemented, that is definetely not the point.

The effort you apply to protect camping is making me think that you like abusing this yourself. I hope I'm wrong and you are undoubtly a proper experienced killer, fun to go against and lose to.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2994293#Comment_2994293

Nothing is being exploited. The devs themselves have said camping is a legit strategy. And I'm not sure why you would want to be forced to stay on hook longer with no ability to let yourself die since that's all pausing the timer would do.

Not sure I understand what means "why you would want to be forced to stay on hook longer with no ability to let yourself die". Why there's no ability? I can miss all skillcheck and die in few seconds. Or you talking about killer? Go away from hook and timer will resume.

Devs also said that if you looped killer for 5 gens and died at the end, you are bad. If whatever devs said is carved in stone and is not applicable for any discussion, than why this forum exist anyway.

As a consumer I can say that in current state game, if you are not a masochist, is ABSOLUTELY unplayable from survivor side, unless you with experienced SWF team on comms, or play this game 10 hours a day as a job. If it is intended that way, and only premades pros are allowed on one side, and other side can use cheap cheese noskill tactic, than let's devs make that statement.

Also, why so many cries and tears about SWF then? They are the only one that allowed, right?

  • Looking at comments, seems like only camping killers gathered here to defend this exploit.

Personally, I think it's a good idea to pause timer, survivor can kill himself on hook if he wants. While playing killer this timer stop won't affect me anyway, but when I have to play survivor, its neverending cycle CAMPER-CAMPER-TUNELLER-NURSE-DC-CAMPER-CAMPER.

Also for some reason, most campers are slap you on hook for no reason and nod fervently like imbeciles. And all of them will always would have NOED.

Depiping 9 times of 10, being last survivor in first few minutes (quicker than being in the lobby), that's very fun and healthy for the game. No wonder that only SWF and professional streamers are staying (which all those killer-players whine about).

So no, I think it's a GREAT idea with having at least a timer stop. Not seeing how it can affect killer that play normally and apply pressure over all survivors.

  • I'm finishing last points of his personal achievement about Nightfall and going back to my girls. Not really like playing him, tbh, although he is much stronger that Onryo.

  • Personally have no problem with removing Dead Hard, very overrated perk and is always expected, can't say I suffer from it as a killer much and don't use it as survivor.

Let's with Dead Hard remove NOED. Cheap crutch perk that good killers don't use anyway.

  • @Laluzi said:

Dang, you got lucky. Every time I tried to say no when dropped in front of hatch, they just hooked me. And there were a few times I pointed at a gen, and the killer just shook their head and brought me to hatch. Other times still, they let me work on the gen but went off to close the hatch, which popped the gen prematurely. Which I don't blame anyone for at all - I wouldn't necessarily understand what the survivor wanted, and I don't blame anyone for not wanting to wait to finish a gen when the game is already over, but just getting a friendly killer isn't necessarily enough.

Though for everyone still mired on that godawful achievement - it technically is not as limited as it sounds. You don't have to finish the last generator as in 1 gen left; you have to finish any gen after everyone else is dead and then get out the gates. When hatch gets closed and gates are powered, you're eligible. It's still frequently impossible depending on what killer you're against or how the gates spawn, but the opportunity to get it isn't restricted to games that were almost won. You just have to hope that you're the last one alive, hope that you can finish your gen before the killer finds hatch, and then hope again that it's possible to get a gate escape.

When the opportunity presents itself, I try to help people get it because screw that relic of an achievement. If there's a gen almost done, I'll sit on the hatch and force the last survivor to finish it unless I really can't communicate with them.

Cheers to you, mate. I gave this achievement to more than 30 survivors.

  • You're joking, right? Say that you're joking. Half of survivor's achievements are either insane monotonous grindery or almost impossible without certain stars align.

It's a statement from a guy who did them all, except new ones that came two days ago and Legendary Survivor.

Left for Dead: in two years I managed to find a good killer that allowed me to finish gens and go through the gate. Another time I managed to do it myself with very sloppy ghostface, although not needed, but it's incredibly hard.

Taking One For The Team and Triage: super annoying and forces you to go with stupid build for hundreds of matches.

Power Moves, where you have to throw your team going perkless over and over again.

I could go on and on....

And the king of them all: Legendary Survivor. This one will soon drive me crazy, I never put so much effort in any achievement in my life as for this one, and still with no success 😖. That one is insanely hard (funny thing, I made a post about it two days ago)

What about killer? Myers achievement could be hard if survs understood what you trying to do, but you can trick them, two-three matches tops.

Nurse's one with three blink grab also very doable with certain loadout. Also you can ask survivors to help you with that easily.

What else? I don't remeber any hard achievements. 1000 sacrifices? It's just come naturally with playing the game. Grab off gens? Third of killers can do this. My Sadako do this almost every match, though she doesn't need to.

Most of killer achievements is like "play normally and you get it".

Seriously, in all my achievement hunt, I don't remember hard killer ones, really.

Again, it comes from someone who got almost all of them.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/327304/gotta-love-how-every-killer-since-pinhead-basically-has-no-counter

I agree, except for Sadako. Sadako was about average. I started using her as a main and was having fun using her, then Dredge came out. Dredge basically nuked Sadako from orbit. Dredge's kit is so freaking overloaded it has made me switch back to mostly killer. I almost switched back to purely killer with Blight because he's easy mode but it was boring because he requires no skill. Dredge is skill intensive but no where near as bad as Nurse, yet he's very close to Blight in kill potential.

I also main Pinhead and he's a nightmare to for survivors to play against because you need an SWF to beat him. lol.

Started to play Sadako from release and unexpectedly began to main her hard. Love her very much, she is so enjoyable to play. But yeah, I agree with comments here, she is garbage. Not garbage by herself, she still can whoop som butts in the hands of skilled player. But in comparison to Dredge... I don't know. Objectively he has more powers than Onryo, no TP cooldown, undetectible mechanic, plus some minor antiloop. But, he is... clunky. Feels slow and cumbersome, not enjoyable. When choosing killer, I don't have any second thoughts since Onryo release. She feels... right.

Message to devs: please, give Sadako some love. Double curse progression, increase TV's on the map, drasticly decrease TV cooldown time, or even all of that together.

  • Personally, it's fun to go against him, but playing him is unnoying and unfun. Like I literally control sloppy pile of meat. Feels slow and unresponsive. TP is great, antiloop is OK, but everything, I don't know, not feels satisfying and enjoyable. Can't say why. But I love playing Onryo and Birb lady so much still, cant wait when I finish with turkey's achievements and return to my girls ♥️

  • My reason on any forum is kinda selfish: I learn english. Trying to put my thoughts into words and write without dictionary help.

  • @BastardKing said:

Honestly, I prefer those challenges to "Finish 10 gens while working with other survivors." Like, okay? Play 5-6 normal games. Or worse "Escape with X Survivors escaping before you." The one I just finished required 9. Assuming the game is balanced (It's not, but assume), I would escape 50% of games. So escaping 9 times should take 18 GAMES. Then, I have to have people escape BEFORE me. In a balanced match, only one other person should escape. So let's say I can influence it 50% in my favor. I make a conscious effort to leave last, but sometimes the killer hits me first, so I have to leave or go down, or I am at the gate and the other survivor is hiding for hatch. That is still only a 66% chance that if two survivors survive, that I am the one who exits last. That means it would take 24 GAMES as a solo to reach that number, on average. 24. Games. There is literally no killer challenge that, if I dedicated myself to it, I could not finish in 6 games, and those are the Glyph challenges you can only do one per game. And then on top of that, there are MORE survivor challenges than killer challenges!

The crazy ones are at least INTERESTING. The ones I cannot stand are the chore challenges which are basically "Play normally, but play a lot."

I could agree with that if only this didn't affect your team. I'm all up for such killer challenges, they are all fun. But survivor? 30% of matches someone trying to do another challenge, another 30% someone didn't like something and DC, 2/3 of matches it ends on 5-4 gens in few minutes, it's a depressing waste of time, you spend more time on loading screen then in the game. Maybe you're the survivor savant and can handle any killer solo, but I'm, as a casual player, suffer a lot.

Heh, I was actually writing up a response about there being too many tragic females and wanting a sadistic female killer like Trickster.

I agree with a lot of what you said.

The Artist is either a poorly written love letter to Candyman, or she was a prototype for Candyman but BHVR couldn't get the license so they changed bits and pieces to make her different. Unfortunately, they butchered the emotional depth of Candyman's backstory; I feel nothing when reading hers. But what OP wants, just tacking on "she felt immense satisfaction killing everyone," wouldn't improve her story at all. It needs more than that. It either needs to create an emotional connection with the reader, or BHVR needs to scrap the "born victim" part and have her be something more like a sadistic serial killer, murdering and painting with the blood of corrupt politicians. Have some fun with it instead of trying (and failing) to manipulate people's emotions.

Artist's backstory as a victim could be fine if it were better written. There's nothing inherently wrong with it the way OP is suggesting. Glancing at her lore, I'm reminded how much I hate the way the majority of lore is written. Full of unnecessary, clunky details and attempts at style, long yet lacking the characterization or depth to make it interesting. I'd prefer lore that's like a couple sentences long to what we get now.

That's the ideal scenario if lore was rewritten to be more breathtaking. I was suggesting minor miniscule tiny detail just to fix it a little and give food for thought. Just want her to be a killer.

Now, if we keep lore as it is, we could easily move her to survivor roster, and no one feel the difference lorewise.

I have lorewise questions for so called "killers" like Adiris or Charlotte (they not that bad lorewise, but still not worth to be bothered by Entity), but Carmina should be definetely saved. Just suggesting.

    P.S.

As I mentioned before, I also think Legion is a terrible concept (lore-wise, not mechanicaly), but they are way past of point-of-no-return.

But that's the thing, what you call an improvement will not be considered an improvement by everyone, and so once a lore has been rewritten then someone else want to rewrite that rewritten lore another way because they think it would be better, and then someone else wants to rewrite it again, etc.

Also the base lore for character is just an overview of the lore itself for that character, it does not go full depth on details in the lore for that character, that's why we have the tomes to give us more details and explaination on things and fill out the holes of the character that was missing from the base lore. It's also why i rather have more tomes for killers like Hag and artist because there is room for more exploration of the character than what is currently shown and told.

If we're going to have more evil female killers like Julie, Susie and Amanda then i rather have newer characters be that instead of changing existing character's lore just for the sake of it.

I never said that the lore was totalitaristic, if the devs changes it because the community wants it then i'm not gonna stop it, i just don't believe it's the right move and i would frankly be a bit bummed about it.

Ok, i'm not gonna argue that, I just wanted to point out the thing that "bothered" me from her release, that she's not a killer. I hope she'll get motivation in chapter books, but, let me say clear, the 90% of players won't be bothered by dwelling into books lore. Most of them will stop at killer description lore. And I believe 90% is optimistic estimation, in reality it is much much higher.

As a regular average player, I see her as another victim of circumstance, not a killer. Amanda is a killer. Sadako is a killer. Rin is a killer. Anya is a killer. Carmina? Not in a slightest.

Anyway, it's all was just a suggestion.

I don't think we should rewrite stories just because people don't like them.

If we were to rewrite stories everytime because someone disliked one, then we would be rewriting them forever.

That's completely not true. We don't want to rewrite because "someone don't like them", we want to improve them because now they have huge holes in it.

But if lore is totalitaristic area and word of developers is the law, and community have to obey or else, why this subforum exist anyway?

Just to be clear, I care about Artist and I like her concept. I just wish she was a killer, not some sorry victim with deux-ex-machina. For example, I don't care about Legion, I hate the idea of some kids with knives, standing near mutants, demons, ghosts and aliens. But personally I care about artist, and not only me it seems, and just want to her to be better lorewise. And this was just a suggestion.

  • For some reason this post reappeared just now, but I've already made another one, because thought I messed up with some forum rules.

Her story is about one step removed from Candyman. He was also a victim, an artist killed by an angry mob whose hand was cut off, and after he was brutally murdered he too became a killer. It's a standard horror trope also see in folklore. For example, Japanese onryo, who are often traumatized wronged women who kill as ghosts.

Maybe. But (as mostly an western user) I understood that she was a victim, and before death she took revenge on her attackers. It's not a killer, it's survivor in my book. Many survivors in comparison more killers that she is. And she stands next to beings like Freddy, Ghostface, Oni, Nemesis, Pyramidhead and such.

I think she should have some "maniacal" killer vibe.

I've mentioned that her story isn't good for a killer in the past. Then again she also mechanically isn't a very interesting killer as well so they could just throw the design away and that would be great.

Sorry, cannot agree with notion about "dull killer". I loved playing her before Onryo, and she's in my 5 most favorite killers. That is subjective opition, of course.

In solo queue it is much more difficult as its largely populated by potatoes. If you have friends to swf with then its much easier even if you lose. At least you can manage to do more to pip than you would in solo where your team are doing nothing and the games end quickly.

Yes, sadly it seems, I repeating myself, the only viable option is SWF and thats frustrating...

  • No matter what general opinion is, compared to Turkey-man, but I could say, I inadvertantly started to main Sadako and even missed the point when and how.

She is really perk dependant, has zero looping powers, TV spawns most of the time terrible, TV recovery time is abhorent, curse mechanic is almost useless. But, man, doesn't she fun to play? Can't put into words how I enjoy playing her, she is so neat and satisfying, don't know what to say about why is that.

I hope she'll get some love from devs. Either boost here curse value, either remove TV cooldown, or remove speed penalty from manifest/demanifest. She's too good to be at bottom tier.

I don't play survivor much to be honest. I feel more in control as killer and that is definitely reflected in the grades. I wouldn't say it's super easy for killers but you have more influence on those things. But until the grade system gets a slight rework or SoloQ gets less horrible I can't give you much better advice, sorry. Right now you get red emblems if you don't play efficient as a killer and and as a survivor. Doing more than 2 gens means someone does pretty much nothing all game or the killer has insane gen regress. Same for killer with the hunter category. You want that on red? Well, don't just down the survivors as fast as you can. It's clearly much better to let them run you for a while, then hit them and let them go so you can find them again later on, fully healed to repeat that. Same goes for hooks. What am I supposed to do when someone dcs and the next kill themselves on first hook.

It doesn't really make much sense to me right now. It feels like you are not supposed to get your pips unless the match was incredibly hard or you didn't play in a logical, efficient way.

Yeah, I know, right? Killer pips are flying. I don't remeber depiping more than two times ever, and red 1 comes super fast. And yes, that's the core of the thing that make me feel survivor depressing: i'm dependant on others. Survivor team is like a cardboard house, one is doing bad or ended up in a bad spot, and all falls down.

  • @Xernoton said:

The main problem is that SoloQ is cursed. Maybe when you get some good team mates ask them if they would like to play with you again. You don't have as much controll over the match as a single survivors, which of course makes ranking up a bit tricky. The most important thing about this whole Grade ystem is that you can lose and still get a safety pip or even rank up when you lose. Try to at least get the safety pip every time by going out of your way to get a few extra points when you know the match is lost. Also remember: Your Grade doesn't effect matchmaking so you might get a very good killer when you're still in ash grades or a bad killer in red grades.

I was really afraid to hear that, frankly, about SoloQ. Looks like SWF is really the only way.

About loosing: it works perfectly on ranks below red, but on red I have to do SO MUCH stuff. If I did not survive, I had to do few gens, two unhooks, heals and also win some chases. It's very hard to do consistently, especially with campers, DCers and trolls.

Sometimes I escape, but still depip, because did not have a chance to do enough. Black pip starts in the middle of the perfomance bar on red :(

    This is what I do.

Convince a few friends to buy the game or play with some that are super low mmr.

Kick a baby killers teeth in.

    Repeat until rank 1.

Interesting idea. If only I had so many friends playing DbD. I had one SWF group, but they stopped playing because (quote) "constant humiliation" and moved to custom (KYF) games completely, after that stopped play at all.

Also, low MMR survivors must have some skills too at the same time, to not crouch in the corner, at least. And low MMR will give you campy/tunelly killer with high chance.

  • Hello, everyone.

    I'm asking for advice.

First of all I want to state that this is NOT A TROLL or BAIT post. I know there is a common belief that the game is survivor sided and playing survivor is easier role. Just hear me out.

I tried (can even say "tryharded") to get this achievement for half a year now with no success, and I think it soon will drive me crazy. Playing survivor is super stressful and depressing to me.

This month I put a lot of effort into survivor again, got to Iri 4 and stuck on that for a week now. And 13th of the month is very close.

Usual scenarios are these (in order of probability):

    1. I got facecamped/tunneled to death, therefore depip.

    2. Teammate got facecamped/tunneled, other teammated dawdle and waste time on unhooking, throwing the game really fast. Almost always depip.

    3. One surivor doesn't like something and DC. 3v1 almost always a loss and depip.

    4. Teammates do some crazy book challenges, throwing the game superfast in a process.

    5. Killer is super good and creating tons of pressure. This is the fun games, also almost always a loss, but not always lead to depip.

    6. Killer is new and learning, but not camping. This case get the most pips.

    7. I'm matched with SWAT SEAL commados and looping prodigies that play killer like a fiddle. If I'm not interfering and play support role (do most gens, heals and unhooks), it could result in pip point.

So in general, on red ranks I get popints in 10-20% of the time and depip in 50%.

I made such topic few months ago on Steam, but people either mock me, or discussed how that is impossible, or gave advice that, sadly, nothing I didn't know already.

I watch many famouse YT streamers and still can't figure out what they do that I don't.

As a killer I always try to notice what survivors do when they give me hard time, and when they are easy prey. Can only say that hard time only with extreme gen effeciency, super syncronized teamwork or sloppiness on my part.

If anyone want to be assured that I'm not pulling his leg, link to my Steam is in my profile (looks like I cannot put any links here, post immediately got deleted), there progress is shown.

Any help and advice highly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🤗
