This would be too abusable by those that want to manipulate their rank downward.
Quitters who give up early would quit sooner and just open the gate.
The last 2 survivors hiding and waiting for the other die is a common scenario that the killer should have a way out of.
Having 3 or 4 survivors trying to hold the killer hostage in the same way is much more rare. Unless these scenarios become more common, there doesn't need to be a mechanic to prevent them, especially when the mechanic could ruin otherwise normal games by letting the Killer open the gate when it should remain firmly closed.
That abuse is very easy to counter: MMR change ONLY if conditions are same as today's ability to open gates. Otherwise MMR is held on current level. Also survivors do not depip in that situation.
-
I would give the killer option to open exit gate at any moment.
-
Dead Hard and Decisive. Because before I knew that everyone has them and what to expect as a killer, now it's a gamble.
-
Yep, it is. Just tried it out. Same trash.

Its true though. And stop making excuses for it. The killer has nothing to do with how sorry your other team mates are. Survivors have full control of their experience in how they choose to deal with their team mates. NOBODY ELSE. Cut it out bruh....
Lol. Yep, they do.
The thing is that from survivors it is required to be top-tier pro gamer to win the game, while not for the killer. Killer demolish casual people (which is majority, me included) and rocket up to high MMR to top players, where his is being wipe floor with his face, because he doesn't deserve that MMR level with no skill.
All in all, survivors are requested to be super strong experienced team, but killer does not.

Hey there, kind motivational person :) I just wanna give you a status report.
I got nearly everything done, but I loath, loath LOATH that Evil Incarnate achievment >_<
Not much that I can do about that one but try again and again and again and being twarded again and again by "clever locker gameplay" and "exhilarating contests of will" at the locker door. Gosh, do I hate this concept. Same about the not so hidden achievment, I have come extremely close to killing all survivors by my hand, but invariable and without fail, the last one will ALWAYS have Unbreakable and a hatch around the corner. Its like a natural law :P
I believe in you, because it's an achievement. You also got "Outbreak Breakout" to 5, which is 4 more than me, and I play mostly only a survivor because of that, and I HATE playing survivor.
-
Kate would be a wonderful Harley Quinn. But you know, Marvel/DC dropped in so stinky filth so I really don't want BHVR touch this compost until Disney get their marbles together.
-
@Bot_Salvo88 said:
Sounds like skill issue from your teammates. BHVR can't fix bad players.
Oh, killer-mains here already :)
-
Of course it was! Killer could eat a blast mine and feel frustrated. Killer cannot be frustrated. Only survivor has to be.
-
Not diminishing how crappy and filthy facecamping is, I wanted to say, I don't know what happened, but I didn't see any facecampers in last week (probably I dropped to negative numbers MMR abyss). Can't explain it, really, but it feels much more enjoyable (if there is any enjoyment in playing survivor). Killers still do their 4K every time and still occasionally tunnel, but at least I have a chance to play a game a little.
I still believe if devs remove facecamping (considering Otz's suggestions and making Reassurance a basekit) it would be very very healthy to the game.
-
Great, happy for you. But don't really know what to do with that information. I escape less than 10% (today it was exactly 1 escape [2K] in 10 matches). And I can't say teammates are damaged in the head, everyone is really efficient, altruistic, know what to do, and loop killer thrice as long as me. What next, STFU and git gut, right?
-
Define "most". Today I lost only in 9 matches. Out of 10. It's very survivor sided game for sure.
-
Just baby killer that don't paly survivor because afraid to lose, don't mind him.
-
..
-
Maybe just add some process to gen repair, like different minigames.
-
Maybe you have personal rule when killer slaps you on a hook repeatedly and nod too?
It's hillarious how many are triggered by absolutely innocent actions. Remembering Dark Souls with all those point downs, poop throws and claps, today's kids would have probably had a heart attack.
I usually let last surivor go, one time I was against so called "toxic" team that brought offering, flashlight clicked, sabotaged and squatted constantly. I won the match (last two were slugged) and... let them go. And, surprise surprise, they said that I was a skilled killer (although I don't think I am) and in was very fun to play against me, gg and have fun.

But what about the causal killer player base? I see the word CASUAL throw around alot but it's always referring to survivors. What about the killers that don't know every map or understand how to run every tile or full understand the aspect of every killer? What should we do about these players?
As I said, we match them with casual survivors, instead of trying to balance them to compete with experienced survivors because their MMR skyrocketed.
-
Like he said. Wanna die without a burden.
-
Because majority of players are CASUAL players, and it's fine, not some Dark Souls insult. But current state of the game requires from survivors to be a pro, know map, all tricks and work in team without words (SoloQ). Bad thing that it doesn't apply to killers, devs trying to balance casual killers with very experienced teams (because they gain MMR super fast) instead of fix MMR so casual killers matched with casual survivors and pros with pros, like in any other goddamn game.
NB: I know that it's not an easy task, but it has to be done and time put into in, not bandaiding game with perks (and then nerfing them, because some baby-killer losing against SWF-sweat-team). So many perks and killers, this is super great, but chaos and entropy is insane. So many variables, I'm surprised it holds at least in that state.
I think the best idea would be completely remove camping and tunneling and finetune MMR (to take account of hooks, chases, emblems, etc). It would be harder for killer to play properly, but it would force them to learn more (just like survivors have to now) and with finetuned MMR that killer will drop to more easy and casual survivors and have more easy matches.
-
I think if SoloQ is a plaything for killer-players, they need to give bonus in Auric Cells. It would be a salary as a service employee, because just entertain killer is not fun, then it's a job.
-
- Bubba
- Wraith
- Trickster
- Nemesis
- Huntress
- Everyone else
Sorry, couldn't get it in 3, there are 33
-
Survivor challenges/achievements are always pain in the rear. I have conspiracy theory that they made just to force players to play more survivors. Because it take 20 more time to finish one survivor achievement than killer one.
-
Slugging is OK, you can crawl to a certain spot, you can hide until your teammate pick you up, you can even find hatch. Unlike camping, you're not denied of gameplay while being slugged.
-
I was doing adept (don't remember on which killer, it was Farm, probably Huntress, but not sure), and one Nea happen to be ALWAYS on my way, but it was clear it was unintentional, but she was giving free hits and downs. And of course I was blamed for tunneling, and officially I was, but it was not my intention, but also it was not intention of that Nea (she was kinda lost), although I needed quick kills for adept and other survivors did pretty good chase. I think that's the only time I was creating unfun situation objectively.

DbD is far from perfect. The devs are far from perfect. Solo Q desperately needs some love.
And as for your point that camping and tunneling is like cheating, the problem is in your mindset.
And now I will not respond to you anymore. I am wasting time that I can use better.
Oh, you come to that. "Mindset". "Wasting time" That weak excuse about time and "insignificance" of opponent after so many responses, usually when there is nothing to reply. I did not waste my time in this empty dialogue, because others could see how unsustainable "justifications" about camping and tunneling are.

There is a saying here. It says: sometimes you lose, sometimes the others win.
And there are sometimes days when you even win. Today I had 3 survivor matches in solo Q and 3 escapes, yesterday I had 1 escape out of 6 matches.
You made it clear what you play, how you play and what your mindset is. I don't need to elaborate.
You can throw pseudo-phylosophical sentences, but no, I didn't say anything about win or lose. Fact is a fact: one role (killer) can deny gameplay of another role (survivor) and not otherwise. It's a video game which everyone play for a process. If someone deny other in participating in gameplay, that's the issue. Cheater, exploiter, camper, tunneler, no difference (except first one is responsibility of player, and others three are responsibilities of devs as service provider).
What if survivor could get to unreachable place for killer and deny him of gameplay? "I don't need to elaborate".
-
3 is the best. But I'm getting lots of potato killers.

"Camper" and "tunneler" deny nothing. They are doing their job, they kill survivor.
Playing most time as a survivor I do not enjoy killer that camp and tunnel. But it is part of the game and you can counteract it, as I've proven 2 hours ago: repair generators.
Yep, they deny. Because they are allowed to do it. Like cheater "doing his job" by using cheats to achieve victory.
It is part of the game, so, if you had read my message to the end, you would have see that it's not a killer-player resposibility, but devs.
"You can counteract it" is the weakest excuse untill SoloQ would be officially denied. Or DbD called as "pro tournament hardcore game" where casual players are not allowed.
-
Everything is true except putting "camping" and "tunneling" in "just playing the game" category. Camper/tunneler DENY picked survivor to play the game. Same as, for example, cheater does. That's the main issue. It's nearly an exploit, that is frustrating. And, opposite to cheating, it's not a killer-player fault (people tend to use the most cheap and easy ways and always will), it's responsiblity of devs, that provide "playground" and set rules.
-
Is it a riddle? Because challenge title has peculiar sencence.

You have no idea what the other player has experienced. I had a game where two people DC on their first hook. I let the other two go. Next match. Same thing happened. I had a challenge to do and little time to play. So I killed one and let the other go. I wasn't doing it to be "toxic" but I need to play some games too.
What toxic to let the other go? You are endangered specie too.
-
I don't wanna talk about DC, it happens every second game, but YOU FOUND GOOD KILLER! It's like unicorn or endangered specie! Even when 2 dc, the killer will punish remaining half.
-
@Jivetalkin13 said:
What would that killer look like and what would their new power be?
Huntress + Nurse
Like a Veterinarian.
Throw hatchets like normal, but missed shots cause you to teleport to the missed shots location.
Happy?
-
If we talk about just bleeding out because killer is sweaty and afraid to lose 4k, then just check my phone.
But if it is a cheater or toxic idiot, then this thing: I had set a hotkey that start recording. While recording, I feel report form in BHVR support (because you need to check options, put cloud ID, etc). Then as usual, checking phone or doing home chores like feeding cat or go to kitchen. After that I convert video to smaller size, upload and Bob's your uncle.
-
I don't know about macro clicking, but why am I tunneled at 5 gens and then camped? I don't even use flashlight.
-
I really wish there would not anyone from this list ever (besides maybe Chucky and Springtrap), especially Vecna, Alien and Predator.
-
Cooldowns reduced, all security perks turn off when gates are powered, gens is 90 seconds, well, that's not enough, obviously. Now we need to remove pallets.
How about windows and walls too, increase gen repair time to 5 minutes and make that when any survivor is hooked, you cannot do gens. Would that be enough?
-
Mains auto got P10, and that's it. Because there are so many killers and survivors that needed to go to P3, so leveling just for leveling is not gonna happen in a long long time.
-
It never gonna happen for two reasons:
- Weak killer players will drop queue at the first sign of SWF. Minding that playing SoloQ is a complete hell, it is left only for hardcore survivors and streamers, all others go to SWF. It will result in killer queue times 5 times longer than now.
- Main misconception is that all SWFs are Team Oracle after Team Eternity. Most cases it's just casual players that having fun. And people like to play with friends not to gain huge advantage, but to PLAY WITH FRIENDS.
-
Although I'm completely certain that camping and tunneling have to go, 3 gen is absolutely valid strat, and it's when gameplay happens. Survivor should break 3 gen, if that failed, then it's gg.
-
Besides that many play like survivor is some archnemesis that burned his house and killed all his family and his hamster. So much hatred. Especially if that survivor dares to loop killer more than 30 seconds, then it looks like all world go dark except that survivor, which needs to be downed, hooked and griefed.
I literally see killers that completely ignore me repairing the gen 5(!!!) meters away, running after archnemesis survivor around that gen.
-
Where is option "All of the above + Hag and many others"?

no offense or trolling intended but ive got a lil under 100 hrs on my belt and i have it on surviver....it aint that hard tbh....sad it took u 1000 hrs
Maybe you are some prodigy and narural-born survivor (or just pulling our leg), but it took me 6 freaking months to get it and I know how hard it is and fully understand OP. I did all achievements and for a half a year couldn't get the last one, which is Rank 1 Surv. And it was the most horrible experience.
And I did it even before killer patch. The thing that OP did it now, my deep respects. I don't think it is possible now, at least for me.
-
Congratulations! Sincerely!
The battle for rank 1 still get me creeps and spine chill, it was the most hard, infuriating, exhausting and unfun journey I did in videogame. Glad you did it! 💪
-
You can't. Crappy people are crappy people, sadly there are lots among us. I encounter a lot of griefing and harassing killers. If something is definetely goes under some report issue (like not "nod to me" or "slap me on hook"), record a video, report them and also report to steam support including this video. Just did that 10 minutes ago. Maybe that will help to keep community cleaner (unless BHVR throws steam support tickets the same bin that ingame reports goes to)
-
Until I do that stupid achievement, no. Also RPD is very rare to me (mostly come with offerings). I got coldwind farm 5 times in a row. In 50 games RPD was 5 times (including offerings)
-
Tunneling - repeatedly chase and hook 1 survivor, usually completely ignoring everyone and everything else, until that survivor is dead.
Hooking 1st survivor, then chase another, hook and return to the first one is not tunneling.
Tunneling very often goes with camping hand to hand.
-
Funnier than survivor, that's for sure. But if you don't have fun, maybe you just tired with DbD. Stop playing and return in a few months (when next chapter will be released, for example), you'll be fresh, rested and ready for new matches. It works with all games I play.

Don't see why there isn't just an option to disable the filter.
Because in the game where people got stabbed, chainsawed, dismembered, mutilated and eaten alive, kids (which not supposed to be in this game in first place) could see a bad word!

That's because you need to be a little firmer with him in the game. When he's tunneling you, you've got to stop, turn to look at him, and reprimand him with a firm, "No! Bad Trapper!" And keep going until he realizes you're in charge.
My bad...
