Is nurse fun to play after her "slight" nerf?
No she isn't. Feels like your fighting the blink mechanic more than the survivors.
-
Id be happy if they just fix nurses bugs. Since her rework I have difficulty blinking. I often fail to blink through objects. I try to go upstairs and I stay on ground lvl. I try to go down stairs and I stay up stairs. While teleporting on top of a survivor my auto aim locks onto a wall or debris.
-
Oridnarily id say this is what you get when you keep begging for killer nerfs. However I can't pin this one on survivor mains because it's all on the devs. No one was asking for Billy nerfs. They were all asking for spirit. I wonder how long it will take for them to nerf her?

Hahaha I know I have see this too in my career. My gripe is that its has become the standard answer to most things.
That and "It is what it is".
-
I understand why they did it but I still don't like it. I use to que up and spend bp on my various killers while I wait. Can't do that anymore. There's also the exploit that lets survivors see the killer. If I play Hag and magically everyone switches to flashlights I'm backing out. I'm normally against lobby dodging but if I sense the survivors are cheating they can find another killer to bully.
-
I've worked for enough companies to know "We'll look into it" is management slang for "Go the #@$% away".
-
I haven't played since the patch but I was under the impression these changes would make him stronger. It sounded like he would be even more dangerous if you were caught in an area with zero pallets/windows.
-
If it helps survivors escape, it's "tolerated". If it helps killer then it's patched ASAP.
-
Honestly we should all just stop playing killer all together. The survivors won't get any matches, the devs will panic and develop killer bots. Then the game will be so boring we can finally lay it to rest and play civ 6.
-
They won't stop until killers are replace by bots that don't even attempt to down people.

Well would you look at that. Hillbilly was overperforming compared to other killers, which is what anyone without a huge bias for one side could realize.
I assume the 1st quote was misread. They like Billy having the power that he has - for the most part - but it needed a few tweaks. You have to understand some people were saying Billy should need to collect gas for his chainsaw, or should move at 110% speed. I think they were saying no his power is fine the way it is and doesnt need major changes, just some kind of limitation.
I will copy this reply and repost it the day when the devs realize DS is over performing. However that day will never come :P
-
Survivors kept complaining so the devs stopped making them.
I remember stealth myers, fat myers, one shot hatchet huntress, 4 blink nurse, instasaw billy+bubba, infinite mending legion. Some of those were totally broken and needed to be removed. Others were either rendered obsolete when something else got patched(spine chill working on undetectable killers) or they were nerfed. Some are still around but with the billy changes coming soon I have no doubt they'll get around to making all add ons garbage.
Is it asking for too much for ultra rare add ons to be worth it? Most these days are not worth running. Some brown add ons are even better.
-

Yeah, that daily is one of the ones I delete immediately. I enjoy playing Ghost Face, even though I'm not that great with him, but that daily makes me question my life.
I delete spirit dailies because I suck at phasing. Also clown cause I hate playing as him. I used to hate freddy dailies before his rework.

What's the point? If you pull yourself off the hook when he's face camping he'll just down you again. If he suspects ds he'll probably slug you and count to 60.
This is my opinion but I think if more survivors did gens and got out then maybe more killers would stop face camping. There are killers who are complete dicks and face camp for the solo purpose to ruin someones fun. However I believe most that face camp do not know better. They hook someone, all the survivors drop what they're doing and rush the hook for a save. This leads to more downs and less gens getting repaired. The killer then thinks "This worked. This must be how I should play". Considering how awful the MM is in this game, that killer will probably get to red ranks and that reinforces the idea that face camping is a good tactic. It only works if the survivors are potatoes.
-
I did read and the answer is still yes.
It's best to ignore the end game chat and play however you want. Camping and Tunneling are made up words survivors created to disregard the possibility that they got out played. So long as your not breaking any rules set by the devs, all's fair in the realm of the fog.
-
I always felt lullaby was a good idea but poorly executed. It's too much work for too little pay off and unless your steam rolling, the gens are done by the time you get 5 stacks. Devour Hope is like the prime example of what a hex should be. No notification until it takes effect, powerful at 3 stacks, even better at 5 and the survivors are actually scared of the killer when they realize it's up. My buff for lullaby would be to make the no audio que at the start and the more stacks you get increase the penalty for failing a skill check.
-
I don't know why so many survivors hate BBQ when it has so many counters. When playing as survivor id rather the killer have bbq because I can do something about that and I don't need to bring anything to do it. If the killer is using whispers, ruin+surveillance, discordance, there isn't much I can do to hide from that. People who know how to use whispers are scary. I've been accused of hacking when I use whispers to find someone. I've never been called a hacker for using bbq.
-
I don't understand why you have to expose them while leaning for it to count. One game I leaned to stalk, which is how I almost always stalk, until they saw me. I then had to chase them. They revealed me but I got them to like 95%. When my power recharged I poped it and exposed them during the chase before they could reveal me. I downed them and it didn't count because I wasn't leaning when they got exposed -.-
-
I wouldn't call it a gen slowing build but if I am able to push people off gens I'm liking ruin+surveillance. Once a gen turns white I will know if they go back to it.

You can still separate the art from the artist.
If we were to go through ALL of our history and take out what is "now" considered inappropriate how much would be left? I'm against changing history for any reason because I believe in "Those who do not learn from their history are doomed to repeat it".
Would you chisel off Michelangelo's dong because you don't support nudity? Jefferson owned slaves and his face is still on Mount Rushmore. How many people have been killed because of the words in the bible?

No some killer will never see play can you imagine trapper whitout the bag addon how useless he will be its the same for wraith on the other end killer like freddy, nurse and spirit dont need addon to be strong so you will see them more often and you dont want that
I agree. Many killers are dependent on add ons and perks. I remember long ago there was a dbd tournament where they forbid the use of perks, add ons, items and offerings. Big shock, every survivor was claudette and most killers were nurse. This was before her "rework". I think if these things were removed we would see even less diversity among killers.
-
I've never been accused of hacking when using BBQ. I have been accused of hacking while running whispers. BBQ is more for farming than tracking. It has counters. You can't do anything to hide from Whispers.
-
You bring the perk encase you get a chance to unhook yourself. Doesn't mean you will get a chance to use it. This thread is like someone complaining they didn't get to use unbreakable because the killer didn't slug.
My advice, make friends and play in a swf. Randoms suck.
-
I can see it now. Their version of Monopoly's "Get Out of Jail Free" card is DS :P
-
Original- not difficult to come up with
Effective- not so much
There are many underrated perks that can be fun and useful to use. They are just over shadowed by DS, Adren, BT, Unbreakable because 2nd chance perks are so powerful. To mess around I like running spinechill with q&q+head on and urban evs. It's actually surprising how many red killers I mess with using q&q. It's like the killer is saying "I didn't hear him vault that window so he must have doubled back.......where the hell did he go? Did he slow vault that window? Unless he's using q&q but nobody uses that at this rank"
I tend to use pharmacy to farm green medkits so I don't have to bring IS.
Sometime's I like having alert for more knowledge on where the killer is. I'll bring autodidact to heal people quickly. When I SWF we have one person who is a pretty good looper but he has a terrible habit of running to us on a gen and the killer ends up breaking chase to come after us. For that reason I sometimes run bond so I can see him coming and I can get the hell out.

I believe that would add a bit fresh, new art style but still dark horror fitting current style of DBD. Also there is no legal licensing problems, the majority of Lovecraft's fictional works are in the public domain.
That's one of the good things about Lovecraft. Not only did he allow people to use his work, he encouraged it. He felt it expended the mythos. Nowadays we got so many copyright laws it's hard to come up with anything that isn't taken.
-
I vote Nyarlathotep. He isn't massive like Cthulhu and he tends to interact with humans the most out of Lovecraft's Old Ones.
-
Trapper. When someone steps in a random trap it feels like you out smarted them. Going against a good trapper makes me paranoid of tall grass. I'm scared to run over any grass or vault any window.

WAIIIIIIIIIIIT LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Your entire arguement is based on a patch from 2 years ago with a change that was removed after 4 days? So you can't refute anything I've put but post a change that was undone within 4 days. Yea dude thats totally it man they totally favour survivors after the put that patch out man you nailed it on the head, lmfao.
Just because it happened 2 years ago doesnt change how much of a screw up it was. It just further proves the devs dont know how to balance their own game. Hell how long were flash lights OP? It took Kote himself getting his ass kicked for them to realize that.

Yes the "history of patches" where they nerfed pallets, windows, exhaust, ds, "infinites", bt, map sizes, bnps, flashlights, slight nerf to coop gen progress, great skillcheck nerf, healing nerf etc etc
and what did they nerf on the killer side, the nurse, who is still the strongest killer in the game if you put the time into her, the spirit... still one of the strongest killers in the game, oh and billy, which we'll have to wait and see on.
Not to mention the reworked freddy, now one of the easiest killers to master, massive doc buff, massive leatherface buff
oh sorry they nerfed ruin as well, which clearly hasn't change mucch in the game because I'm still seeing killers constantly 3/4K without it.
Yep, they sure do hate killers and pander to survivors.
patch 1.9.2
The scary part is the devs were the ones who thought it was a good idea.
Lets not pretend. The only reason devs nerf survivors/buff killers is when there's hardly anyone playing killer. So long as their survivors get a match they think al is well.
-
I think if the killer is chasing one survivor the entity should slow down generators because that killer is occupied. If the killer has someone on a hook and chasing another survivor then remove said penalty because not everyone is on a gen.

Remember, if you're bad at the game you'll never have fun, and will probably make up things like "The devs favour X", when in actuality, they don't.
Just look at the history of patches. It's pretty clear the devs favor one particular side.
That side being rank 20 survivors who havent bought all the cosmetics in the store yet.
-
Remember, this game only cares about the survivors having fun. Not killer :P
-
TL:DR
I used to love playing as Nurse but since her rework she's too frustrating. Half the time her blinks don't go through objects or when I land on someone the game auto locks me onto a nearby debris. I feel like when I am playing nurse I am fighting the mechanics more than the survivors. Worse is these bugs have been here since her rework nearly a year ago and the devs show no sign of fixing her.
-
I remember one of Saminations quotes during the loading screen. Something along the lines of "If you get killed it is everyone's fault but your own"
-
Yes red ranks are the highest tier in the game. The reason your facing them is the match making is absolutely terrible in this game. Those 4 red ranks probably were in que for 10 mins and when the game couldn't find a red killer, it tossed the first available person their way(you). Red rank doesn't exactly mean they are good these days but it still sucks for you. You can increase your rank simply by playing a lot during the month. It doesn't exactly reflect a player's skill. This is one of the big reasons why not many people play killer anymore. It's because new people are being thrown to the wolves and told to "git gud" when they haven't had time to learn how to play.
-
I never liked the killer lock. One of the things I did to pass the long que times was que up then switch to a killer and spend my bloodpoints. With this system I can't do that anymore. Id have to spend points into the killer I qued as. I really think this was a dumb idea on the devs part. It's not like it;s the first time they screwed up.

@slim0b said:
lmao it's gonna stay how it is even with how the devs operate because IT HAS NO COMPETITION.
Unless competition comes out for this game, it would actually push the devs into fixing bugs and making more sensible balance changes. For now they can do whatever they please
We were hoping FT13th would be that competition. The law suit made that game dead in the water. Last Year didn't live up to expectations. RE3's multi feels like a mode that was slapped onto a half finished game. BHVR knows they don't "have" to balance their game because there isn't anyone else to take their player basis away.
Gears of War 5 dropped a big update for Horde a week ago. I've been playing that. Still hop onto Warhammer 2. I'm sure PS4 owners are playing Ghosts of Tsushima.
I watched Evolve and Stage 2 die twice. I don't see that happening to dbd soon. Things may not be looking too well but so long as there are a good amount of people playing, the game will go on.
-
I hope it fixes the game but I won't have any expectations. If it happens, great. If not then I never had my hopes up so I won't be upset.

@Reinami said:
Early game doesn't exist and we have another great example of this that can't be refuted by "but they played badly" or "the killer's perks suck"
Take a look at this recent video from true:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9LkaTt50Ic
Movement control in the match starts at about 5 seconds, so every timestamp is 5 seconds higher than the actual time in the game.
The match starts and he immediately runs to the other side of the map where the survivors likely are.
At 26 seconds in the video, he hears a gen being worked on
At 28 seconds, he spots the scratch marks
At 30 seconds he spots the survivor.
At 34 seconds, he makes a bad read, but the survivor plays badly and throws the pallet anyway.
At 37 seconds, he breaks the pallet, while the survivor runs to the harvester.
At 50 seconds, he does harvester tech, and lands a hit. The survivor holds w.
At 1 minute, 10 seconds, he catches up to the survivor and starts a chase.
At 1 minute, 15 seconds, he successfully mindgames the survivor and tries to bait the dead hard, but it doesn't come
At 1 minute, 18 seconds, he downs the survivor.
At 1 minute, 22 seconds, he picks up the survivor.
At 1 minute, 28 seconds, 1 gen pops.
At 1 minute, 32 seconds, he hooks the survivor, he runs over to the nearby gen that was completed and another in the field.
At 1 minute, 39 seconds, a second gen pops.
At 1 minute, 43 seconds, a third gen pops.
This goes with the thing i have been saying for months now about this game's problem with early game. The math doesn't add up.
21 seconds to find the first survivor and start a chase
24 seconds to land the first hit after making a 1 bad read and breaking a pallet.
20 seconds to catch up to the survivor to start a second chase.
8 seconds on a successful read to down the survivor.
4 seconds for attack cooldown and to pickup survivor.
10 seconds to hook a survivor.
21 + 24 + 20 + 8 + 4 + 10 = 87 seconds. Enough time for 3 gens if all the survivors hopped on a gen as soon as the match started.
This was not played badly. True played very well.
He found the first survivor almost as early as he possibly could have at the second gen he checked.
He made one bad read for the first chase that only added a few seconds since the survivor threw the pallet anyway (if the survivor played well they could have easily extended the chase an extra 15-20 seconds before using the pallet).
He made one great read for the second on that made the chase end in a couple of seconds.
At this point, the game goes downhill from here. True holds his own because he has like 5k hours in this game so of course he is going to do well, but most of the survivors end up escaping regardless.
I'm hoping the devs are working on this early game phase they were talking about. I'm hoping it at least helps killers in the early game.

Open maps are trappers bread and butter. The loops are few and far between which are great for him as you have those trapped with a few to spare.
I find the worst maps for trapper are The Game because there is no tall grass. Every trap is out in the open.
-
TL:DR.
As trapper you want to setup your traps before chasing someone. Unless you know you can get them quickly. You don't want to waste too much time trapping though. I suggest corrupt intervention to buy you some time in the beginning to setup. Also bring trapper bags. Being able to carry more traps is a god send. At the start of a match I even pick 3 gens that I WANT to defend. I'll let them take certain gens so when they have 1 left, it's in a mine field of traps. Whispers doubles for trapper. When you learn how to use it not only is it great for finding survivors but it will also tell you when survivors are not near you. This means you can probably place a trap and no one will see you do it. Whenever possible, hook someone in the basement and trap the hell out of it.

It is doing it's job, DONT tunnel the unhooked survivor, go for the unhooked. And if they unhook in your face it is basically a hook trade, so why do you complain?
The only problem I have with that is when the person who makes the save is someone I already hooked recently, they got saved as I downed this other person and they still have DS. I'm screwed no matter who I choose to go after. One has DS. The other has BT and can also have DS. I can slug but they could have unbreakable. There is no right choice.
-
You survivors got them to ruin nurse and billy's about the get the same treatment. Keep complaining and I'm sure spirit will get gutted too.

It's sad that the game is coming to this.
