The thing is, you can't just compare a "normal" killer player with Otz's TRAPPER. He's like, if not the best, one of the best Trappers in the entire game. And yes, the survivors in that game were potatoes, they're clinging so much in their crutch perks and gen rush that when they face a god killer that's what happens.

Most of the players, as you said, would get rekt by that team, not because they're bad, but because they're not Otz. Gen speeds are busted as a #########, and we all know it, and most of the teams will have someone runnin Prove Thyself, and sometimes another one running leader so they can swarm up and heal an injured teammate in a blink to, guess what, gen rush another generator.

And what sums up the entire thing is, you don't really need to be a good player to win as a survivor. If you know to hold down M1 and press spacebar, that's it. You don't need to be a god looper if someone in your little SWF team is, you can just sit on gens and let other players do the dirty work with the killer.

I hope the devs are working on that idea of some kind of start up phase for the game. M1 killers could really use it. I seriously think nerfing ruin was a mistake on their part. At least they could have nerfed ruin and tool boxes in the same patch. The patches after nerfing ruin just felt like they were trying to mitigate the dmg they did.

  • This video shows me those survivors suck without their 2nd chance perks and BNPs.

They couldn't loop for #########. One of them even stood at a pallet instead of continuing to loop. Not only that, they also failed a mind game standing at that pallet.

They DS'ed twice when they should have saved it.

They tried to bait swings with BT. Which was blatantly obvious they had BT. That just fed Otz stacks and told him what they were running.

    They made terrible saves.

They stepped in traps. They didn't even disarm 1.

I don't think they even tried looking for ruin. What if he had noed or was running Devour Hope?

They even stream sniped him and they still got their ass's kicked.

IMO this video doesn't show that gen speeds are BS, which personally I think they are. Or that killers are powerful because Otz is up there on the food chain. This video does show me that survivor can be crappy players and still escape by stacking 2nd chance perks and rushing gens. Granted they didn't get away but what if this was a killer with significantly less playtime than Otz? They probably would have been crushed by this team.

Ok I never really thought of it like that. I definately didnt want anyone to die by the end. Ellie didnt want to kill everyone, just Abby. She was only following leads of people who she knew the location of so she coukd find Abby. Miraculously, she had to kill them all because they all tried to pull a knife on her. I still think Ellie is a good person shes just been through a lot

I think your both incorrect. Abby showed zero remorse for the people she killed. Ellie looked like she was racked with guilt. Abby didn't even give two shits about hurting someone who was pregnant. Personally id rather just not hear about TLOU part 2 anymore. It's all people have been talking about lately. I didn't enjoy the direction they took so I'm moving on.

  • I want the devs to play their own game. They introduce some good patches that improve the game and then they do something completely ass backwards that makes it worse.

I want them to create a better match making system. Getting r1's as a rank 15 killer should not happen. I've been to r1 so it's okay when it happens to me but if I was a new player. I wouldn't play killer after seeing that.

Last, stop giving special treatment to specific groups(new players). Don't make the game easier because they don't want to learn how to play the game. That just makes the veterans leave.

From a dev stream in May they said the exact words "Next month". The next month from May being June.

I'm surprised they gave any hint as to when it will come out. Usually when they give a specific date and something pushes it back, the community gets in an uproar.

I have to disagree with that, the piping system works in such a way to encourage you not to camp, tunnel or hard slug. You must hook all survivors to get extra points, you must hook one survivor multiple times, you lose points if you stay too close to a hooked survivor etc. Just killing all 4 survivors doesn't actually represent your skill and your ability to end chases and apply pressure, if that was the case a mori would be an insta double pip. You need knowledge about how the piping system works in order to adapt your playstyle to it.

The ranking system in this game is a joke. Why would you want to pip in the first place? No matter what rank your killer is there's a good chance of being thrown at a swf of reds.

If my head pops when I'm facing a pig it's because of RNG. I swear every time I get a rbt on me it's always the last box that has my key.

  • @Splinterverse said:

The issue is that people feel like if you use NOED and end up with only getting kills after it activates, then you are being rewarded for not doing that well at the game and the survivors are not being rewarded for doing well at the game.

I can see using NOED if you are new, but after that, in its current state, it feels like a crutch.

Small changes to it would make it feel less like a cheap way to turn a loss into a win. I've seen many suggestions over the years, here are my favorite:

    • The exposed status only lasts for 60 secs.
    • The totem is lit the entire match.
    • A totem counter is added to the UI for all players.

I'm sure there will be posts imminently saying, "Well, you can't nerf NOED without nerfing Adrenaline." I honestly don't care if they nerf Adrenaline. They can if they want. I don't like perks that are situational and encourage not healing anyway.

I feel the same way about DS. Killers feels if you escaped because of that perk then you probably shouldn't have escaped in the first place. NOED has a solid counter. DS has none unless your PH. Slugging can be countered by running unbreakable. Don't tunnel is not an option because survivors with DS active have a habit of running INTO the killer because they know they have a get out of jail free card. Both perks IMO are crutches but the difference is DS tends to get a pass because of so many people whining about tunneling.

As for the OP, NOED is fine. Looking at Billy's recent rework that doesn't mean they won't nerf it anyway.

Disagree. After the nurse changes I started playing her way more. She is balanced now and fun to play in my eyes. Billy will be the same

Did you play as her before the rework? The blinks don't go through objects like they used too. The CDs make traversing the map take longer. They could have just fixed her add ons and called it a job well done. Why do they have to mess with something that already works? Haven't they heard the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

  • @FogLurker said:

I don't see how anyone thinks PH is bad, he's especially good at pallets and vaults that aren't immediately after a sharp turn. I guess it's better people think he's bad, that way he gets buffed like Bubba someday.

You sir may be on to something. If we act like all the killers suck the devs might stop nerfing them. They only rework them if they feel they are doing well :P

  • My favorite moment is when I hooked one person when the gates were open. 2 other survivors made the save and body blocked them all the way to the gate. Only to discover I was using bloodwarden. May the Entity enjoy them :P

  • Even if the devs nerf BBQ to being useless. The survivor mains will complain about something else. It is strange why people keep complaining about it when it has so many counters. Some don't even require you to bring anything.

  • I hardly play as Billy so I can't judge. I did play a lot of Nurse and we all know how that went. These devs tend to go too far or not enough when it comes to balance. Ever notice every "rework" tends to work for weak killers and hurts already strong killers?

Freddy was the worst killer in the game when he first arrived. Now he is pretty solid after his rework.

Doc was weak and has improved since his rework.

Bubba is probably going to be better after his.

Legion was crap and is "slightly" less crappy.

Trapper is low to mid tier and his various QoL changes+add on rework have helped him.

Nurse was already top tier. Now she is infested with bugs and weaker than she was. Before you survivor mains scream 4x blink was op. Yes it was. I agreed with the add ons rework but her base kit was perfect before. Now she's zero fun to play as. I'm fighting the blink more than the survivors. Id hate for billy to get this treatment. The worst part is this patch will only make more killers play spirit. Or play something else.

  • Since we got dedicated servers I don't have a problem with DH. I remember the days when it was practically a free dodge. Since the servers got here it just isn't practical to try to use it like that anymore. Many many times I DH only to get exhausted yet still hit. Once in awhile I'll bait a swing but those are very rare. As killer it's very easy to bait. It's better to use it to get that little bit of distance so you can make it to that next pallet or vault.

  • I think DS is unfair and should be removed. 80% of survivors run it and it rewards them for playing badly. Yet it's still here.

    Cleanse da bonez.

  • No. I think this is going to be like the nurse rework. This will make Billy very frustrating to play as and we will see a rise in spirits.

  • @Hag.is.Dtier said:

I'd get rid of it entirely, base kit Billy was already balanced. Going against amazing Billy mains is one of the most fun experiences in the game. After this awful change, it's gonna be Spirit and Freddy. Two very...... fun and interactive killers.......yay

"pRetTY gOoD JoB sO fAr" BHVR

Base kit nurse was fine too. We saw how that went -.-

  • If this idea was in place survivors would literally only fight Clown. Instead of holding survivors hands they should play the game and git gud.

  • I laughed at the idea of the devs suggesting making rank invisible. I said "great. That just means we won't see how bad were getting screwed". Maybe now it might not be such a bad idea. This cleary isn't getting fixed anytime soon.

  • Okay that makes a little more sense. I was wondering if greed had a hand in it. Like in stranger things it felt like they gave us Steve so they could sell us Scopes Ahoy instead of Billy. Which would have made more sense seeing as how he isn't on the show anymore and being stuck in the realm of the fog, risking torment to save others could be viewed as a form of redemption.

  • @Uistreel said:

It seems that all the addons that decrease charge time have been removed in the ptb. Thoughts?

I feel like something similar happened before but I can't quite remember it. It happened to another top tier killer around the same time I stopped playing dbd full time. It's like I'm trying to remember something that was deliberately erased from my mind. What could it have been?

    >.>

  • @Bovinity said:

Because survivors pay him off when he does it.

Hook, camp, wait for everyone to come to you, get a 4k without ever moving.

That's why I think we have so many campers. It's a double edged sword. Killer's don't realize it's not going to work against real red survivors. Noobish survivors don't understand what to do when it happens.

The killer face camps someone. The survivors don't do gens. They make bad rescues that add to the body count. The killer gets 3-4k and thinks this is an effective strategy so they keep doing it. That killer ranks up, they face more experienced survivors who don't fail for face camping and that killer is getting steam rolled because they didn't learn how to chase or apply pressure.

  • From the info they gave us. I don't think this will be a big nerf like the nurses rework. Billy will still be able to sprint across the map. If anything it will be harder for him to chase you around a loop with his chainsaw revved. However these devs have gone one step too far before. Like when they said they would rework Sallys add ons -.-

  • So long as they keep releasing licensed killers to attract more meat for the grinder I don't think they care.

  • I'm reminded of Star Trek Next Gen and the capitalist alien race of the Ferengi. Their #1 rule of acquisition is this

"Once you have their money......never give it back"

If the devs haven't given people refunds for buying Ash after they nerfed MoM, you ain't getting #@$% back lol

  • If you want more tension then tell the devs to stop nerfing killers.

  • Not to mention there's a lot of other problems they could be working on. Nurse bugs, MM, SWF, DS. Instead they nerf a viable killer.

  • Red survivor doesnt mean much these days.

  • I dont think the changes are that bad but id rather the devs fix the chain of issues instead of nerfing one of the few viable killers.

    Nurse bugs

    MM

    DS

    SWF

  • That can be Jason's power. Turn into miss, bait a pallet drop, machete to the face.

  • @slunder said:

@EvilJoshy I know it is a small change, but still, I hate it when the devs focus on dumb things instead of taking care of real survivor issues.

Agreed. Im still waiting on them to fix the nurse bugs introduced since her rework.

  • I'm against nerfing killers when SWF is so god damn over powered but this nerf doesn't sound that bad. At best Billy will have a harder time looping you with his chainsaw revved. The sprint is hardly affected at all so his map pressure will remain. He will still be able to chainsaw people up close. This doesn't sound half as bad as the nurse rework. The cd on blinks increased the time to traverse the map and that affected her map pressure. Billy won't have that problem.

  • I think this change will just make it harder for billy to pallet loop me with his chainsaw revved. As of now I don't think it's that bad but I am usually against nerfing killers. After Nurse's rework she got a crap ton of bugs that still haven't been fixed. Entity knows what this patch will do to Billy.

Side topic. Now that Billy is getting nerfed can we finally nerf DS? Not rework, I'm talking NERF. Like make it so it doesn't work if your in a locker or if the killer hooks someone else your DS shuts off. The dev's reason for nerfing ruin was the amount of times it was present in matches. Well I see at least 1 DS in every game and that's on a good day.

  • I don't play much anymore unless friends ask me too.

  • @Captain_Spaulding said:

Watch Mccote play his own game once. Just once. You'll see everything you need to know about who exactly in charge of this game.

    "Flashlights are perfectly fine"

/flashlights get nerfed the next day.

  • The same thing happened to me when I learned Nurse. The devs wonder why there's not many people playing killer outside events and new chapter releases.

Bold of you to assume I bought Ash for the perks and not for Bruce Campbell's groovy, digital chin B)

I bought him for ashy slashy :p

  • I don't know if it started sooner but the earliest I saw a refund request was back when Ash came out. MoM was broken and I can't help but wonder if BHVR took their sweet time patching that perk so more people would buy Ash. Then after the patch and ALL of Ash's perk were crap people screamed for refunds. GL with that.

  • This nerf just means your going to be saving the cage for when you want to dodge ds, a flashlight save or to quickly hook someone so you can go back to hunting.

  • So we can't see the cages anymore? Being a killer main I'm actually fine with that. Majority of the time if someone is tormented I hook them for bbq or pop. I only cage them if they were saved recently and I suspect DS. Or if there's multiple people nearby and I want to keep up the pressure.

  • I think the aura should be removed. Allows some good jump scares and this is a horror game. GF's ptb proved announcing to the survivors that the killer is in stealth completely defeats the purpose of going stealth.

  • My build for nurse

    BBQ for finding people

    MYC to down rescuers

    Intervention/pop for gen slow down

Last perk is whatever. NOED, BW, NC, Sloppy, Franklins, Iron Maiden ect.

Profit from what? Killer queues are much longer then survivor queues. You just sabotage yourself.

Wait till the event dies down and it will go back to the way it was before PHs got here. Fast killer ques, long ass survivor ques.

If there's a new killer released people tend to play him because unlike survivor, each killer is different. When there's an event or double bp people tend to also play killer over survivor because it's easier to farm.

  • It's so the survivors can dc during the loading screen when they see the killer's offering is hidden :P

  • IMO they should just remove the yellow aura all together. An undectable killer makes for good jump scares. This is a horror game after all. Telling the survivors the killer is in stealth defeats the purpose of stealth. Did the devs learn nothing when ghost face was on the ptb?

  • I think a lot of people are playing killer because of the event. That and a new killer came out not too long ago though it feels like PH's hype died off quicker than others.

  • Keep up the good work brother. Slay them all! Those heathens.

  • Killer perk idea.

    Pay backs a #########
