I think PC dbd only appears worse than console dbd because PC users have keyboards so it's easier to type hateful messages. I got the game for my nephew's xbox. I played a few games and each one someone sent me hate messages. Also this game was orginally designed for PC so there's more people playing the PC version. The player basis is toxic though. When I play overwatch and hear someone whining. As a joke I say "As whiny as the dbd community" and like 3-4 people chime in "Dbd is pretty bad ><"
-
"Maybe people are mad cause BT and DS are practically wasted perk slots against him? LMAO, come on..."
Now survivors have a taste of what killer goes through when you spawn next to ruin. Oh boy hoo :P

Make it so theres other ways to get rid of torment instead of unhooking someome from a cage cause most ph players save it till death hook for that easy mori
That might work but I find it's difficult to get someone tormented in the first place. Unless I leave a lot of trails everywhere or were looping the same structure. They usually don't get tormented during a chase.

As a Spirit main, I picked up on the sound bugs right away, and it baffles me because they make a killer that revolves around sound, but they don't address sound bugs. Especially the fact that BHVR is well aware that sound is crucial for killers!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1374674#Comment_1374674
Facts! BHVR is quick to fix bugs that invoices survivors!
Some people will say the devs treat both sides equally. I call bullshit. I remember DS was broken one patch and it got fixed in like 4 days. I'm still waiting on the bug fixes for nurse since her rework almost a year ago.
-
If this bug was in reverse. No sound for survivors. It would have been patched by now.

Not this song and dance. You damn well know why they changed it. Tunneling somone death walking backwards is absurd. And the real problem he had with his powers disconnecting people was overlooked because of the same whiny people.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1374534#Comment_1374534
It's not like people didn't already mix n match abilities. Devs being self aware of this isn't farfetched either.
I'm not talking about mix matching. I just find it strange most killer's perks tend to be better on a different killer than the one who unlocks it. Trapper doesn't have much use for unnerving presence but Doc sure can benefit from that. Bubba's BBQ is better on faster killers like Billy/spirit/oni.
-
Sounds like that killer was just salty. I'm sure there are plenty of people who are in a swf but pretend they aren't. I believe your story that the chain head on was unintentional. I think we should be allowed to see who is in a swf "at the end of a match". Not before. People would just lobby dodge if they could see that loading in. I wouldn't mind seeing if 4 people were a swf then I wouldn't feel so bad if I got wrecked. Or id feel better if I 4ked them >.>
-
Usually when a new killer comes out the killer population gets a big spike. All survivors literally function the same.
-
Is it me or does it seem like a killer's unique perks are actually better on a different killer?
Doc gets m&a but he doesnt want a smaller tr. Other killers do.
MYC is from the pig but she doesnt get as much use out of it like Hag.
Just to name a few.

What's with the resurgence of "participation trophies" as the culprits for completely arbitrary things?
You make the game easier, lesser skilled players rank up.
-
The devs forgot why ruin was in the game in the first place. Now most killers are leaving because they lack pressure and a lot of crappy survivors are ranking up. This is what happens when you hand out participation trophies.
-
As a killer main. Personally I wouldn't mind if BT worked with cages. I would really like wglf to work for when I farm but then what is the point of cages then? The PHs that cage and run straight to it does feel like it promotes tunneling, by the way there is nothing wrong with tunneling even though it sucks when it happens to you. However if all your hook perks worked with cages than the only reason to cage someone is to avoid DS or if your in a hurry and want to chase someone else. PH is already suffering by sending someone to a cage and he isn't getting pgtw, stacks for DH, thrilling tremors ect. Unless I'm trying to avoid a DS it's often better for me to hook someone over a cage. I do feel the current cage system can be abused but how can it be fixed to work for both parties is my question?
-
I'm not as good as I was before her rework but my revenge build was.
Nurse with MYC, BBQ, Corrupt Intervention or PGTW(was old ruin) and the 4th is whatever I feel like. NC, Franklins if I see a lot of items, noed if I want to be salty, iron maiden if I suspect locker jukes.
Hook someone, leave, if I don't find someone by the time the rescue is made I go back and hunt the one who made the save.
-
I find lvling survivor to be boring. Id rather play as a killer and pour the points into the person I'm lvling. If I'm farming I always run bbq on my killer even though I prefer Whispers for tracking. As survivor, the first one I P3ed was David. Just so I would have constant access to WGLF to cut the grind down. I tend to get more points when playing killer. As survivor there's those moments where the killer never found me, people didn't get hooked so I got zero altruism, or the killer face camped me. As killer I feel I have more control over how much bp I get.
One reason I took to this game over FT13th. Each killer is actually unique. All the Jason's function the same way. Just some are better then others at somethings.

That's what they "say" but I can't help but wonder if they diverted resources or people from the main game to work on that. I treat everything I hear as wikipedia. It's probably bullshit.

exactly, and on top of that it throws off the balance. Either a loop/building is overpowered without breaking walls but balanced after breaking them... or balanced before breaking them and underpowered after breaking them. Its a lose end for everyone imo
On Deathslingers map I do not break the wall in the room upstairs. Cause there's only one way in or out, the window. If I have bamboozle or if I'm playing trapper I love that room.

Real ######### I want a new mode.....as big as this damn player base is...I just don't understand why they haven't branched out and created a new mode...
They were too busy creating the mobile version to get that sweet untapped market. As much as I hate mobile games you have to admit, EVERYONE has a smart phone these days. That's a lot of customers.
-
Camping only works if the survivors allow it. If they know what to do that killer will get 1k at best. Besides doesn't Steve have a perk that slows down hook progression if the killer is near?
-
I wasn't too thrilled when the said they were adding breakable walls. To me it just feels like another pallet. Something else I have to waste time breaking instead of chasing a survivor.
-
They've made several QoL changes for killers over the 4 years. It just feels like it takes them forever to do so. Or they give survivor a major buff that feels like they undid everything. I remember when trapper took 5-7 seconds to plant a trap. When Freddy couldnt hit people until they fell asleep. When survivors could see your load out if they died before the match ended.
My biggest grip as of now is all the bugs for Nurse since her rework. IMO her add ons needed to be nerfed but 80% of them are useless now and they didn't have to touch her base kit. She's been buggy ever since her rework almost a year ago and they still havent addressed the issue.
-
1: Survivors save you right in front of the killer because they want that BP for a hook save. If they had borrowed time it is acceptable cause it gives you a chance. They also probably assume you have decisive strike because every survivor runs it. Bottom line, the savior is greedy. There's also this widely believed illusion that killers shouldn't go after someone pulled off a hook.
2: Often people assume someone else is doing a gen so they can get a gate. One of the reasons headsets are so powerful is you can tell everyone whats going on.
3: People run straight to a gen at the start. That's normal but most players actually suck at chases or the killer won a mind game. In this game you can be carried as a survivor and they have a lot of 2nd chance perks. I've seen rank 1's who suck at loops. Makes me wonder if they only did gens and healed someone. Never actually ran into the killer most matches. They could have been several times when they should have died but stuff like DS, BT and Adren saved them. Take those away and a lot of people would lose.
4: Again, lack of communication. Though this is probably how the game was meant to be played. Without headsets.
5: Since they introduced disconnect penalties people let themselves die on the hook so they can leave a match they don't like. Some people feel if they aren't having fun it's their right to leave. As if the other 4 people in the match do not matter. I've seen people who dc every single time they face a certain killer. I've never seen any other game forum defend people from disconnecting.

im talking about the million bloodcap
It's so the day a new killer comes out people don't max them out. Yet it's not much of a counter measure to the people who play a lot. I saved up like 800k bloodpoints before ph got here and I got him to mid 30s. If I had shards saved up I could buy perks I already have from the shrine to get another 200-250k each. I've taken GF to p1 the day he came out.

People have this notion that stealth gameplay means your hiding in a locker all game doing nothing. So long as your doing objectives there is nothing wrong with stealth.
Like many have said already.
Spine Chill to get a warning when the killer is coming to you. It's also in every survivors bloodweb from the start.
Urban Evasion so you can try to sneak away before he gets to your gen.
Iron Will can help if your injured but your also bleeding so they can follow that.
Inner Strength so you can heal yourself or bond so you can find someone else to heal you. If you don't have those perks SC can work but it takes a good while to heal yourself. Medkits are great.
An exhaustion perk is pretty much a must on all survivors. If your going to try to urban evs away, I suggest you pair it with Sprint Burst. That way if the killer see's you hiding you can take off to a pallet. I don't suggest trying to sneak hide from a billy, bubba or Oni with his power. If they find you hiding in a corner and block your exit, that's a free one shot for them.
As much as I hate the perk, Decisive Strike is a god send for killers tunneling you off the hook. I only equip it if I'm being tunneled off the hook often. Otherwise I don't run it because I feel it's a crutch perk. Before you survivor mains judge me know that I rarely run NOED on my killers for the same reasons.
-
I was in a 2 man swf against a pig on yamoko. A meg who got downed first died to a rbt. I don't even know if she tried to take the thing off. One min were doing gens and the next it's 3 vs 1.

"Skins are just skins to me and I see no reason to treat anyone differently."
That's exactly it. Despite BHVR saying legendaries will be completely different characters she is treated as another skin, just a dime a dozen cosmetic that can't be mixed with other outfits. Not only that you need to drop $15 for the outfit in addition to $5 for the character and many (including me) think that's too far.
This is the first time I've heard about boycotting Lisa skins but I can understand the reason, it seems like a blatant and lazy cash grab. Doubt it will work.
I think the best quote for microtransactions is "If people would stop buying this ######### they wouldn't make it"

What if no gens turned yellow and the stealth perk let you play..... stealthy?
Seriously, it's only 16 seconds, has a cooldown, most killers already make noises outside of the Terror Radius, and the premise is already set by Dark Devotion.
Im down for that idea. You would think the devs learned from gf but they didn't. If you tell survivors the killer is stealthed than whats the point of going stealth? The survivors should be afraid the killer could pop up at any minute. This is a horror game and the killer is "suppose" to be the power role......isn't it?

those perks were added for a reason, killers shouldnt be able to get free kills or tunnel without some added risk or deterrent
saying "just play better" doesnt work when you play solo or if the killer sets out to tunnel you to death, now made easier through deleting the protection against tunellers that was added for that very purpose
Saying "just apply pressure" doesn't work either when your fighting a gen rushing swf with 4 DS's.
I don't think PH will stick around much. He felt like he lost popularity pretty quick. When Deathslinger came out it felt like 3/4s of my matches were against him. It feels like only 1/3 of my matches are against PH and it's only been 3 days.
-
@BigTimeGamer said:
tbh he is a perfect example of why DS is needed
being uncaged vs. a PH who beelines to it immediately isnt fun, no DS, BT, or Exhaustion reset to use as a defense
i really dont get how the devs dont care about this
I think the opposite is also true. PH shows us how much survivors suck without their 2nd chance perks. If anything I think PH teaches people how to be better survivors. Don't save a teammate right in front of the killer just because you have bt+ds. Wait for the bastard to leave or make the save when he's chasing someone else.
As for PHs that run directly to the cages to tunnel the saved person. Would it be a bad thing if PH couldn't see where the cages are?
-
It looks pretty damn cool either way. I don't expect that to happen often enough to be a thing.
-
As far as perks go. I think they just can't put in anything good that won't become broken once mixed with the current meta. Look at Ash for example. Old MoM was a stupid idea but it might have been acceptable if you couldn't combine it with DS+BT+Adren. Once word got around how powerful MoM was a lot of people bought the dlc. Then BHVR finally nerfed the perk and people bitched they wanted their money back because that was the only reason to buy that dlc. Now they probably release crappy perks just so they don't have to face that kind of backlash again.
I don't really like the new map. Cosmetic wise it's beautiful but in function? Even though I can see gens and hooks it's another story to get to them. It reminds me of The Game when it first came out. It's more of a maze than an arena. A few breaks in the walls or maybe another set of stairs to go up would be appreciated.
-
See you when the next chapter drops.
As for camping and tunneling try playing killer and see "why" they do that.
Tunneling- If you see a healthy and an injured survivor it makes perfect sense to go after the injured one. The chase will take half as much time. Unless stuff like BT and DS are involved. The killer is doing their objective in the best way possible. You would do the same in their position and if you say you wouldn't, your lying.
Camping- IMO most of the time it's not efficient to do this. There are some situations where it's beneficial but for the most part a killer is better off leaving to pressure someone else. The issue is most new players, BOTH SIDES, make mistakes when it comes to camping. Killers think it's good to stay there until that person is dead. Survivors think they have to save that person no matter the cost. The survivors aren't doing gens, the killer is getting kills and the killer thinks "this is working, it must be how I should play". When killers face more experienced survivors who know when someone is being face camped to do gens Then that killer will start losing badly and fail to get bp or rank up.
-
Depends on who im using. I hate The Game as trapper because theres no grass but I love it as pig or gf.
I think one map I hate all around is cold wind. I am corn blind. I've lost survivors who run through the corn. Any other map I dont have this problem. As nurse, corn is my kryptonite.

Some friends and I were in a swf for about 2 days. We had a r1, 4, 10 and a 17. Literally for two days straight we got nothing but baby killers. I know there's a big audio bug introduced in the last update. Are all the veteran killers taking a break until it's fixed?

Someone did this to me on the game. Luckly I was PH and his range attack hit them. Forcing them to leave. If it couldnt hit them I can picture that survivor staying there till I dc'ed.

Nurse needed nerfs, unlike any other killer. Besides iridescent head huntress.
Her add ons needed nerfs. I think most will agree quadruple blink nurse was broken and require little skill. Her base kit was fine the way it was but they had to #@$% with that. Not to mention the plethora of bugs she's had since her rework that have yet to be addressed. Her new add ons are garbage on top of that. She's still top tier but her bugs just make her unfun to play. Your fighting her mechanics more than the survivors. How many Nurses have you seen since her rework? I've hardly seen any.

Hag is short. Chucky would be less than Hobbit height. Trust me. I'd much rather have doll Chucky. But the devs have said that's not happening.
If we ever get Chucky in here then I want Warwick Davis's Leprechaun :P
-
I'm on the east coast of the US and ques are fine for me. Killer takes about 5 mins at least but that's understandable. Everyone is playing PH and I'm back to rank 15 cause I havent played in so long. I was in a 4 man swf and we found games in under 2 mins but the MM was by far unfair to the killers. 2 red a purple and a brown against a rank 17 killer with less than 50 hours.

This is exactly why I stopped using MYC. If it showed the the unhooker's aura or something, it might be worth running. As it is, I was running back to the hook, which takes up about a quarter of the timer, and trying to find someone who's healthy and could be hiding anywhere vs. someone bleeding and moaning.
That's why I like MYC on fast killers like my Nurse or Hag. It encourages you to go after the person who made the save. This spreads out the dmg and slows the game down. Sadly it doesn't work too well on slower killers. Then there's the chance 2 people went to make the save. They are double healing at the hook and you have to guess who is exposed.
-
Do whatever helps you complete your objective. The survivors justify everything when it comes to their objective and they should learn to accept "I'd do the same thing in their position"
I had a match on the new map. I couldnt find anyone except an Ace. I downed him and left. I still couldn't find anyone so I went back to his hook after he was saved. I couldnt see the trail of who saved him so I followed his blood. There was no one else to chase. I hooked him again and the same thing happened. In the end game chat I didn't apologize for what I did to him but I did explain I only went after him because I couldn't find anyone else.
-
I think they are a generic enemy from the Silent Hill franchise. Silent Hill is pretty much a nightmare come true so it has some off the wall creepy stuff. I think those things are suppose to be like mental patients only instead of a straight jacket their flesh is their confinement.

His range attack is literally garbage. I'm avoiding it at all costs.
It's high risk, high punishment meh reward.
Agreed. It takes too long to travel
It doesn't go very far. I tried a green and yellow range add on and the distance is nice but it still takes too long for the wave to get to them.
It can easily be dodged since you can see the red rectangle on the ground.
You hear him stick the sword in the ground so you know the attack is coming.
It doesn't inflict torment. I don't see why it can't.
Takes a long time to recover.
Can't one shot anyone like a chainsaw or Oni Charge.
The only good thing about it is it's mind game potential. If someone is running to a window I can toss the wave or I can pretend I will to get them to move then go in for a melee. I've been seeing a lot of PHs try to use the range attack instead of breaking a pallet. That wastes so much time if you don't get a lucky hit. It's better to use this power when 2 people are together, a narrow hallway, or to avoid losing stacks of obsession perks.
-
As far as BP goes, every new killer usually gets BP adjustments after a few weeks. I remember Pig use to get like 50 BP for landing a dash hit.
-
I tunneled an Ace to death yesterday as PH on the silent hill map. Not because I wanted him dead, he didn't do anything to be toxic. It was simply because he was the only one I found. I down Ace, hook him and leave. He gets saved, I haven't found anyone else so I go back to his hook. I see his blood and no other tracks. I try finding the one who made the save but they are hiding and all I can hear is Ace. So being the only person I could find I chased him again. Rinse/repeat until he died. It was a bad match for me. I don't like the new map. It reminds me of The Game when it first came out. I feel it needs to be opened up more. I see a gen or a hook, that's half the battle. I need to find the path that leads to it.
-
I've been dropping pallets early and wasting PHs time by dodging the wave. Often when they see a dropped pallet they think they can use the wave to hit me. I end up pissing them off until they finally break the pallet then run to another one.
-
I'm wondering the same thing. I plant my trail and sometimes, some places it disappears instantly. Is there a limit to how much spikes can be on the map at any given time? Are certain objects barb wire free zones?
-
I'm surprised it took the community this long to make a PH is op thread. Normally these things start before they even hit the ptb.

@TWiXT said:
On one hand it removes the survivors ability to hear the killers TR which can lead to some surprises for the survivor if they aren't paying attention. On the other hand, it doesn't remove the killers red stain effect, and the afflicted survivor(s) have a status effect icon that tells them they should be more alert and look around more. When they first announced these status effects I was worried that both Oblivious and Undetectable would show up on the survivors hud, but fortunately only Oblivious does. Can you imagine if Undetectable showed up for survivors every time the killer used it? That would pretty much defeat the purpose.
That's how I feel about Oblivious, It would be a strong effect if the survivors didn't know they were affected by it, but since they do, It only makes them more cautious to the killers whereabouts. Also given that it doesn't remove the killers telltale Red Stain, Survivors can more easily spot the killer while under its effect unless they are on an indoor map with lots of LoS blockers, or destructible walls they killer can smash through and surprise them. Basically Oblivious is a weaker version of Undetectable that makes anyone but noob survivors more cautious and vigilant when they are affected by it. While that doesn't make it totally useless, especially in indoor maps where its much harder to spot the killer, but it also doesn't make it anywhere near as useful as Undetectable.
The devs did this by design so that the survivors would know they are being de-buffed and need to be more alert. In a way, solo players having that icon appear on their screen have a tendency to be less bold until it goes away, but in the instances where the survivor is in an SWF team on voice chat with their friends, it becomes a useless status effect.
When GF was on the ptb the survivors got an audio que every time he was in stealth. That literally defeated the purpose of going stealth. When PH gets here I hope his one perk that makes him undetectable whenever he kicks a gen has been tweaked so the gen he kicks isn't yellow. I thought that perk had potential but if they know where he is when he's undetectable then whats the point?
