  • I think a better statement is "Moris are brought because of keys"

At least in my case. If I see a key I'm bringing a mori.

  • Bias survivor mains consider anything that isn't the meta to be bad. DS, BT, Adren, DH, IS, IW, Unbreakable.

  • The wave should be either a little faster or he recovers quicker because of how easy it is to dodge. If the wave also applied torment that would be a plus. The way it is now I think it'll be like deathslinger. Use it when they are vaulting but try not to fall for a bait.

His gen perk would be great if the cd wasnt so long and the gen didn't highlight yellow. They learned nothing from GFs ptb. There's no point in stealthing if they know your stealthed.

    $$$

You need to give a reason for players to buy the DLC.

Rememeber the backlash they faced from angry survivors who only bought it because of that broken perk? I'm pretty sure that had an effect on their decision to buy the next dlc.

  • @Desh said:

The nerf to Mettle of Man was needed. The perk was overly-OP when it first came out.

What bothers me is they let it come out at all. Tyde, Tr3 and others all said that perk was going to be broken when they tested it on the PTB.

  • I liked it when they made it so you couldn't see the killer's load out until the entire match was over. SWF abused that when someone died before 5 gens were done. They would tell their friends "killer has noed" and they would 99% 2 gens until they found all the totems. BW was impossible against a swf if someone was taken out before the game ended. If the killer had 2 stacks of DH and someone died they would drop what they were doing and go hunting for that totem. If the killer had NC they would stop healing inside the TR. If they had bbq they would all get in lockers when someone was picked up. Survivors already use headsets, they don't need more information.

That one little changed helped a lot and I've never heard an entitled survivor main whine to bring that back.

  • I met 3 people playing Evolve Stage 2 that added to my friends list. We played that game as a 4 man group for like a month. One of them disappeared. Another changed his name so many times that I accidentally deleted him because I purge my friends list of people I no longer recognize. One I still stay in contact with and we shoot the ######### here and there. He often told me about dbd and one day it was on sale so I picked it up. There was no particular chapter that got me hooked. I just enjoyed it. I think this was back when the Hag came out. It was just before the huntress because I remember being in a 2 man swf breaking pallets to complete the community challenge.

  • Often I take a 6 month break and come back after a big update or a chapter release. Which is why the current ranking system doesn't reflect skill so much as "time played that month".

The icon won't light up when you're 32 meters from a hook, but your existing stacks don't disappear despite them being gone, which is confusing, I agree.

Huntress Lullaby does the same thing. It can be cleansed and you will still get stacks but it does nothing.

  • @Akhaten said:

The devs could remove the perk from the HUD if it gets cleansed since you can't use it anymore. Show noed until all totems are gone or the lit totem is cleansed, and for haunted grounds keep the current animation and after it's done, remove it from the HUD. This way we could have a better understanding on what happened to devour.

Also this could be extended to single use perks like corrupt, BT, DS etc.

Is it me or "after" dh gets cleansed it looks like you can still get stacks? It doesn't do anything but the icon still thinks it's up.

  • I don't think that's a bug just an unexpected thing killers learned they can do. I know pig can use her dash to cross it. I've seen some youtubers use their lunge to hug the outer edge to cross it.

  • @Blueberry said:

The vast majority of times people complain about tunneling or camping it's really a case of bad teammates making bad plays and it's easier to just blame the killer. Essentially what you said kind of.

Too many people use DS offensively tho, just like BT, abusing its intended purpose.

Yeah, if survivors didn't rescue right in front of me, maybe I wouldnt have tunneled someone. If they didn't get in my face because they had ds, maybe I would have let them get the hatch at the end. In theory DS was made for good intentions but most of the people I see running it are #########. It is hilarious when they get downed, ds me, I down them again and they rage quit as I pick them up.

  • Not to burst your bubble. Really I don't mean to sound like a dick but the game doesn't consider you that good. The MM in this game is god awful. The reason it keeps throwing reds at you is they have been waiting for 10 mins and you were the first available sacrifice to be thrown at them. Unfortunately when playing as killer, the game doesn't give 2 shits about you because we are the minority.

From my understanding the game at first looks for someone of similar rank. If it cant find one it expands the search criteria. If it still cant find one it will eventually throw the first killer it finds. Due to some balance issues, patches and other things. There isn't many people playing killer anymore. New players like you are being matched with people who have every meta perk in the game. This doesn't encourage people to play killer or stick around. So the problem continues. They have a new MM in place and hopefully it will improve things after a few months. If it makes you feel better rank really doesn't reflect skill so much as time played that month.

You are never setting out to make the new best perk, and I think you really should, the meta is really stale. Get some fresh air into dbd, be it by nerfing the current meta perks or, preferably, by adding actually good perks and buffing the old bad ones.

I remember when Destiny first came out and everyone was using the same gun until they patched it. They would move onto the next uber gun until they patched it. This went on and on. One person in a youtube review said it best. People are going to use the best tool for the job. Don't necessarily nerf that tool. Add more tools that are just as powerful so there's options. That way you won't see the same stuff in every single game.

However in that game you couldnt stack 4 uber guns like you can with perks in here.

  • Not to state the obvious but welcome to dbd. Where one side brings everything and the kitchen sink to the match and tries to dictate what the other side can+can't bring.

  • I know nothing about programming and even I can tell you updates take time. Unlike DLC they don't make extra money for fixing their game. Charging us for updates would literally start a riot. (Seriously, everyone is looking for an excuse to do that right now)

If your upset about survivor movement being whacky for a month, try putting up with bugs for 9 months. I'm still waiting for them to address the Nurse bugs that were introduced since her rework.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

I don't believe most of what you just said about your experience. But have fun on your dbd-cation.

It's certainly not an isolated incident. I stopped playing for the same reasons. A lot of people feel this way. It's probably why killer que times are so fast and survivor que times take forever.

Deranking doesn't do anything anymore. If a swf of r1's are waiting long enough it will throw any rank killer at them just so they have a game. Before I could play until I got to a certain rank, wait for reset and play again. Now no matter the rank I will likely run into reds.

  • @The_Krapper said:

The thing about playing nurse is that if you blink too much , you spend most of the match staring at the ground that can actually add up to a gen or more worth of time, the key is learning when and when not to use your second blink and always blink behind where you last see the survivor because 9/10 times they will try to double back on you around a wall or corner, if they aren't doubling back they're most likely not looking behind them and full sending it in one direction which then its usually easier to catch survivors because they dont know where your gonna blink or how long you've held the blink etc... as for gen rush even some of the best pc nurses get beat by this theres no way around it with a coordinated SWF who focuses on gens you're pretty much SOL even if you slug it just takes one unbreakable to completely turn the tide the other way

While were on the topic of Nurse blinks I have a question. I was a good nurse before the rework but after I'm reduced to "okay" nurse.

1: When I am traveling the map to find people should I be using both blinks or saving 1?

2: Once I find someone and if there is no way 2 blinks will close enough distance to land a hit. Should I use both blinks to catch up and recharge or use only one to catch up then blink twice to try to land a hit?

  • The reason I hate Claudette is she's harder to see. When survivors are using all the meta perks and Claudette, it feels like too much. You already have a 4 man swf, headsets, DS+BT+Unbreakable+DH on top of being Claudette. The game is already in your favor. How many advantages do you need?

    He is worse now..

Dream world is pretty dead, boring world, and snares are pretty boring too (fake pallets are fun ngl) imo some freddy builds are disgusting.

I beg to differ. New freddy is vastly superior compared to the freddy that released. Dream snares and dream pallets can be used to end chases quicker. The teleport combined with pop and bbq gives him some much needed map pressure. Old freddy was just too weak. If all survivors were asleep he could slow the game down to a crawl but there were just too many ways to wake yourself up. I've tagged people with my power and by the time they fell asleep they already completed what they were doing. I do not miss old Freddy one bit.

  • I fear this is the state of the game. People leaving until a big patch or dlc comes out. Then 2 weeks later they leave again. This game isn't providing much incentive to stick around.

  • This is a problem for all killers, not just the nurse. But yeah, it sucks. The reason I stopped playing nurse is all her bugs that were introduced from her rework that have yet to be addressed.

All the rework did was raise her high skill ceiling even higher. Both sides tend to agree her add ons needed to be changed but I feel her base kit shouldn't have been touched. God nurses arent affected but anyone below that is going to have a difficult time playing the nurse.

  • I was playing Nurse on Legions map. This was before her "rework" back when she could actually blink a good distance. I was near the shack and hooked someone. BBQ reveals someone on the far opposite corner of the map. I blink through the middle building to get to them. My first blink into the building I see a Claudette crouched behind a table and the gen is 60%. I change direction and hit her. In the end game chat that person asked me this.

How did you know I was there?

I didn't. BBQ showed me someone on the other side of the map. I was blinking through the building and saw you by chance

I'm Claudette. I'm invisible. The only way you could have seen me is if you were wall hacking. REPORTED!

It is possible for the killer to find you when your Claudette. You know this right?

    REPORTED!

Whatever. Falsely reporting someone is going to get you banned.

    REPORTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But as someone who spends more time playing on console..

    cross-play?? Graphics update??

really? When we still have issues with the game randomly freezing/stuttering

can we get the basics fixed before adding in more problems to the game?

I'm still waiting for them to fix the nurse bugs since her rework 9 months ago. I have no hopes for that anytime soon.

  • I feel it's too powerful in swf and there's no real negative to running it. The killer can see you when you look at him from X distance away. Well that's enough time to get to a pallet/window. Being the obsession also has almost zero downsides unless rancor. If the killer is using stbfl or pwyf they are even more likely to leave the obsession alone.

yea perks you said are good too but perks i said are not FREE they are like if you dont pay you can not get that perk do you still want that perk wait

5+ weeks (we still didnt get inner strength 9 months after dlc release) for shrine.

Some killers really needs perks like wraith he needs play with your food it is very good.

I can understand bhvr needs money but they should not get money from perks they are game changing things they are powerful

Well DLC perks won't show up in the shrine anytime soon after release because they want people to buy the dlc. That would kind of defeat the purpose of dlc. It would also be a slap to the face to the people that paid money for perks that appeared in the shrine so soon.

I didn't keep track but I remember the dry spell people went through hoping BBQ would appear in the shrine. Ever play Destiny? It was like waiting for Xur to sell the damn gjallarhorn.

  • Do not concern yourself with the opinion of the sheep.

Most of all, unless they give constructive advice, never listen to the survivors. Your just a bot to them. So long as you play by their rules you will never win.

As for trapper I have to say it. I highly suggest learning how to use Whispers. It's in the bloodweb by default, it's great for tracking and when it's not going off, that means it's usually safe to plant a trap unseen.

  • If they have nothing better to do than to send hate mail every single time they lose in a video game, I do not give them the time of day. Report them, blist/block them and move on. They deserve nothing more.

  • Pop wasn't very useful before they increased from 30 to 60. By the time you hooked someone and ran to the gen it was already over. Only speedy killers could make good use of it half the time.

BBQ was introduced because survivors were complaining about camping killers and already has half a dozen counters. If the killer camps he's considered bad, if he uses BBQ to find you he's considered bad. What do you want? The killer to be a bot and pose zero threat to you? Both perks are fine.

  • OP bought the game awhile ago and even they can tell this game is survivor sided.

  • No

There's too many noob survivors ranking up as it is. Your proposing if someone does absolutely nothing the entire game but gets out, they don't derank. What if they never saved anyone? never did a gen? Were never chased by the killer?

    That should not be rewarded.

  • "I understand why so many survivors use DS"

    Cause they suck?

Borrowed time is a poor mans perk

Self-care is a poor mans perk

D-strike is a poor mans perk

Sprint burst is a poor mans perk

Dead hard is a poor mans perk

Adrenaline is a poor mans perk

Unbreakable is a poor mans perk

Look at ALL perks before you single one, and then, figure out HOW TO COUNTER IT. If you are a red rank survivor as you said you should have no problem against such a counterable perk. That said, you could just be a rank 12 who got to red with the current rank inflations. So shh

From the thread they posted, I think rank 12 is even being generous.

  • I think the reason people complain about the trenches is because they won't be able to use their precious DS when tormented.

  • Survivors do get plenty of nerfs and this is coming from a killer main.

SC, infinites, insta flashlights, patch 1.9.2, insta medkits, BNPs, old MoM.

Although it does feel like their perks get buffs when they rework them. DS is still the most powerful perk in the game. Even when they reworked it they shadow nerfed enduring. Ruin is garbage now unless your a speedy killer. Nurse was destroyed with her rework. Not destroyed as in she can't 4k anymore. I mean destroyed as in no one wants to play as her anymore because of the bugs.

  • @stufoot99 said:

I feel the same way. I got tired of using DS, DH, BT, and some other meta perk, and I try to use other fun builds instead, but then I just get tunneled and/or camped.

That's the exact same thing that happens to me when I play killer. I don't always want to use the meta. Sometimes I'll pick pig and mess around with a meme build. Then I get a 4 man of reds that all run DS, BT, Adren and DH.

How do you think that keys and moris are fine?

A huge problem with moris is that survivors can't properly prepare for them.Killers however can prepare themselfs if they see a key user in the lobby.Moris would be a lot more balanced if survivors could prepare for it before the match starts.

I personally hate both of them. I'm only saying they are "fine" because the devs have no rules against them.

  • I feel moris are fine. Just as keys and as much as I hate it, DS. The devs have stated these things are all fine and until they say otherwise we have to deal with it.

As for fair rules of moris. All moris are fair seeing as how survivors are free to bring any and everything to a match. The only mori I feel survivors CANNOT whine about is Devour Hope. Seeing as you need to get 5 stacks to mori someone, it discourages camping, it's a hex perk, and you get a notification that it's on the map at 3 stacks. If the killer gets those 5 stacks they deserve that mori because the survivors failed to counter it.

I'm extremely sure that the Ruin nerf wasn't really the cause of that but rather the new rank reset that made it even easier to get to red ranks and stay there.

It's probably a bit of both.

  • They could be new. How do you expect new killers to learn the game when they are getting matched with reds?

  • @ThisGuuy83 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1320572#Comment_1320572

Old ruin was used to slow the game down at the start. Instead of hammering out gens, you had to search for the totem or power through it. Killers and survs BOTH agreed the ruin nerf was BS. The only people really happy with it are survs that sucked at gens, and didn't wanna take the time to search for totems. New ruin is useless unless you 3 gen them. Any good team is gonna realize what your doing, and either work around you, or destroy the totem.

I have to mention. Since ruin got nerfed I am noticing A LOT of "red" survivors that actually suck at the game. I can't help but feel nerfing ruin allowed these noobs to rank up when they shouldn't have.

  • I recommend running pop goes the weasel or corrupt intervention in it's place.

FYI, if your running ruin you can't use stuff like pop, overcharge, surge until they cleanse it.

  • Whispers is good on him. At the start of the match you usually turn on your power. You start patrolling gens and if whispers is on there's probably someone there.

  • @Slickstyles said:

I think it's just a matter of perspective. I honestly don't mind if a survivor d/c's to give the other survivor hatch because I still essentially win by getting a 3k. Sure, a 4k would be a nice cherry on top but the fact that the survivor had to resort to such a method and lose bps/a pip to get 1 person out is still a win for me.

It's the same as a killer facecamping me after I run them for for a number gens, allowing my teammates to get out. The fact that I outplayed them, got my teammates out, and made them resort to such a method is enough win for me.

Face camping and dcing are not the same.

Both are dirty tactics but one can get you banned if you do it enough times. It ain't face camping :P

  • Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. The new killer coming in the next chapter. If he hits someone with his power they are under the effect of torment. When they are down, if under the affect of torment, he can push a button and send them to a cage across the map. This counts as hooking. He doesn't have to pick up a survivor to hook them if he hit them with his power. Basically he can completely ignore DS.

  • I admit his reveal can feel hit or miss. Against GF I have a hard time revealing him but playing as GF people don't seem to have any trouble revealing me. Aside from fixing his reveal mechanic he is fine and here's why.

Killer instinct is part of the power and should not be removed. If you reveal GF you also reveal yourself to the killer. If not for this there would be zero negatives to revealing GF. If you see him you have a choice of "do I reveal him, negate his power and risk him coming after me?" or "Let him sneak up on someone and mark their ass. So long as it aint me"

His power already takes a long time to recharge without add ons. It only makes it worse that without his power he is literally a M1 killer. It doesn't need a longer recharge time.

As for marking people for a longer duration. The duration is fine provided your using it properly. Most people will see they are marked and haul ass. The good ones can loop you for that duration. When I play as GF I use his power to sneak up on someone for a grab or a hit before the chase actually begins. I only mark people if 1 or more are near each other. Say going for a hook rescue. Even then i'll usually 99% mark them and go after one. Later in the match when I run into the person I did not hit I will pop my power and expose them instantly before they can reveal me.

GFs power lies in the fact he can hide his TR+red stain at will. Provided his power is available. Marking is really only useful for when you 99 someone and then run into them again. As someone already mentioned, spine chill does wonders when fighting against GF.

  • At least the humming isn't directional anymore.
