David was the first survivor I P3ed mainly because I wanted constant access to WGLF. It really cut down on the grind by running that perk every match. DH is also nice if you know how to use it. Just don't go shirtless David. He stands out. Even in the cornfield.
-
Run bbq or wglf. Every match is double bp's :P

I was very disappointed about the poor movie adaption of the dark tower. I was just starting to read the 6th book in the series when I saw that movie. Even then I knew they were doing things all wrong. Normally I'm against changing a main characters race just for the sake of representation. Unless the replacement fits and does a good job. In Marvels case I was cool with Sam Jackson playing Fury. In Dark Tower I was absolutely fine with Idris Elba playing Roland. Race was not an issue with Matthew Mcconaughey but he was a terrible Walter.

DCing is abusing a game mechanic, they did not deserve to escape there
I dont understand why people think DCing is a right. It's like in Mortal Kombat or street fighter. If someone is losing the fight and they pull the plug on their ethernet cable to avoid a loss. Even those people dont consider that a win. Why is it that only dbd thinks dcing counts as winning?

Fine enough. I just haven't seen anyone use any of the perks. Like Wake Up? Never had a game at all ranks where people use it. So it's apparently a 1 in a million thing I guess
There was one patch that introduced a bug for wake up. This bug would apply the buff of wake up to EVERYTHING all the time. You healed faster, you repaired faster, you struggled faster, you vaulted windows faster. When people learned of this and combining it with other perks, they could literally solo repair a gen in like 20 seconds. Thankfully they patched that #########.
-
If you think Freddy is boring now. You should have seen him when he first released. Being unable to hit survivors until 7 seconds after you tagged them with your power. F tier was named after him. He was the worst killer in DBD until Legion came along.
-
My biggest issue with prestige is I feel if I want to get every perk on a killer I enjoy using, I have to P3 them first. While I don't have to prestige them at all I feel I need too. If say I get Pig all the perks maxed out and I never prestiged her. What if one day I decide I want the bloody cosmetics? All those bloodpoints I poured into her just dug me a deeper grave. That's why I want to get a killer to P3 before I dump as much BP as possible into them. So I never have to worry about regretting my decision.

Not gonna happen. They aren't going to change the rules of the game because you dont like when it happens to you. If they didnt want us to camp then I doubt they would've made insidious a perk. People camp with leatherface because he is the king, its what he does best.
I need to save this video link and post it every single time I see a thread of people complaining about face camping. Even the devs stated what we've all been saying. Do gens and GTF out!
-
No. Just no.
Terminator already ruined Gears of War 5. We don't need them ruining yet another franchise.

My shortest games are as my trapper. I catch someone early and put them in the basement. Then either people come to me before I can leave or they step in my traps shortly after I leave. Then add them to the collection. The end game chat they called me a camper. When I only stuck around to plant my traps, like any trapper would, then I left the basement. I only came back because someone stepped in a trap. The traps were in obvious spots too. I only planted them so I would know when someone was going for the save.
I had a game as nurse on clown's map. 2 people had flashlights. I find and down one person with a flashlight at a jungle gym. They crawled to a pallet so I go to pretend to pick them up. I turn around and see a claudette waiting for the pick up for the pallet stun. I hit her. I go back to the downed survivor near the pallet. Turn around and see a Meg with a flashlight. I hit her. Go back to the downed person at the pallet and I see a Nea waiting for the pick up. I hit her. GO BACK to the downed person at the pallet. I see Meg with the flashlight again, I down her. GO BACK to the downed survivor at the pallet and see claudette revived the survivor at the pallet. I down claudette. Once I catch the 1st survivor I downed, they and the Meg with the flashlight both quit. The game ends shortly after that and zero gens got completed.
The 2 survivors that stuck around weren't toxic. They even asked why the other 2 left. I answered "When they realized I wasn't going to fall for flashlight saves or that pallet stun, they gave up" All 3 of us ended up reporting them for quitting early.

You guys are all forgetting ash has the best cosmetic in the game, the puppet, that alone makes him the best/most worthwhile character in the game.
I'm surprised people havent complained that puppet gives an unfair advantage. It's really hard to see if Ash is bringing a key because it almost looks like the puppet's hair.

It should deactivate if the killer chases another Survior.
Killers dont have perks anywhere near what DS does for the game its nuts by a wide margin
Chasing would be too easy. You could literally tunnel the person who made the rescue for 3 seconds then go after the one pulled off the hook.

You aren't immortal you can still be put in the dying state.
You can run unbreakable and completely counter that.
I think it should deactivate if the killer hooked someone else. My issue is when someone with DS decides to tunnel the killer because they know they have diplomatic immunity.

In Warhammer 2 the main menu gets a theme tailored to whatever DLC just came out. The cool thing is you can cycle the themes from any dlc you have so it's like a wall paper of your choosing. By cool if dbd could do that.

Bubba prob has 50% just because of camping, its always camping Bubba where teammates try to rescue and end up down
We should probably look at stats and remove anything outside of red. In fact red doesnt mean skill. The majority of people who face bubba lose because they dont know how to counter face camping. 50% win rate doesnt mean the killer is strong if the survivors arent skilled.
-
I feel bubba could use some work but not with the chainsaw. When I face a bubba it's 1 of 2 types. It's a noob who face camps the first person he hooks or it's a bubba that never M1s. He just chases people until he gets them in a dead zone then chainsaws them. I don't think he needs a faster chainsaw. He could use something that gives him more mobility or a way to apply more map pressure. Look at Freddys rework. That teleport gives him so much. I'm not saying give bubba a teleport but something like that.

Dude, who tf uses Wake Up?! XD in fact, who uses any of Quintens perks. The only time anyone used Wake Up was when it was bugged and worked on everything. And I'm not sure what games you're getting but at all ranks. The only time some has escaped through gate after hatch close is if they're on opposite sides of the match which is fair.
Yes, the setup for that game was brutal bit he still got 2k, a disconnect and lots of points. The only reason he lost 1 was cause the other disconnected which sucks but that quit survivor gets nothing.
The only Quinten perk I use is pharmacy. I farm green medkits and bring one of those to heal myself. That was before Inner Str got here. I still do it sometimes to give myself another perk.

Weak. Same can be said about Killer mains and their entitlement which is especially far more prevalent on this forum.
But of course Survivors bad, killers innocent, eh?
4 vs 1
If the killer gets 4 kills they had to work for it. If the survivor escapes they could have been carried. Killer gets zero help from others.

I hope you know that players need to walk through your ability that the ds gets useless.
Using the wave also inflicts torment. If your aim is good or you predict where they are going you can down them with that.

Not to mention some clothes make you stand out more than others. Adam for example has a white lab coat by default. You can see him in almost any surronding. You have to buy or unlock darker clothes if you want to be less visible.
Might be slightly off topic but I feel when the stranger things dlc dropped. I think we only got Steve because BHVR wanted to sell us his Scoops Ahoy outfit. I feel Billy would have been a better choice seeing as how he isn't on the show anymore. Lore wise it wouldn't collide with anything and helping people in the fog could be seen as a form of redemption.

DS is annoying but I think most people blow it out of the water. Usually slugging is still good pressure anyways and if they have unbreakable they can't use it later. Obviously it's a problem when you're losing but still more often than not its managable.
The only time I hate DS+Unbreakable is when someone with DS active makes a hook save right in my face. The person pulled off the hook could have BT and DS. The one who made the save has DS and maybe unbreakable. In that situation I feel like there is no right answer.
"In DS+BT+Unbreakable, there can be no winner. The objective is not to play. How about a nice game of chess" :P
-
It could be a survivor's version of NOED. You go 3 perks for most of the match and if the killer doesn't bring a hex, you never get to use it. Much like if they cleanse da bonez you never get to use noed :P
-
I feel unless the killer is running rancor there is no negative for being the obsession. In fact it's actually a positive. If the killer is using STBFL or PWYF they are more likely to avoid hitting you.
-
I can see why they made it this way. I think lullaby could use some love. I like the perk but it's too much work for too little pay off.
If you were running Devour Hope and cage saves counted as stacks it would be too powerful.

There are already replacements for her. Oni can get a 4k off 2 M1 hits. Freddy is outrageous in general. Spirit is still dumb since you can put on stridor and collect your free downs.
It doesnt matter that there made other killers like her after they nerfed her. In a perfect game ALL survivors/killers should be viable at any rank. This game will never be perfect but they went a step backwards with her rework, They took a viable killer and gutted her. They should have just changed the add ons and it would have been fine.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
She needed a nerf. Is was completely justified. Basekit nurses 4ked like hell. Thats a undeniable fact.
Her basekit was perfect. It's what every killer should be balanced towards. Old nurse could 4k without add ons or perks provided you were skilled. Survivors can go perkless and stand a very good chance but it's unfair for the killer to stand a chance without the meta? The add ons needed to go but her kit didn't need any adjustments. Putting "undeniable fact" at the end of your sentence doesn't make you right.

you’re rank 1 complaining about DS?
they DC because you slugged them for the last survivor, which is unpleasant. I’m sure you had a hard game, but it’s still annoying for the opposite side.
you basically got a 3k and almost 24k points so I’d say you did well.
Unless real life stuff comes up or someone is hacking there is no justifiable reason to dc cause your losing. If there's 2 survivors left and your on the hook, I can accept you killing yourself so the 4th can get the hatch.
Side note. I cant wait for PH to get here so I can make DS useless. Imagine all the threads about people saying PH is OP, PLZ NERF!

@LapisInfernalis said:
The reason you don't see many Nurse's now is more because many players relied on Omega Blink or liked to abuse it. Now with that gone, many stopped playing her. Yes with the recharging it is more difficult than before and Nurse has more counterplay now, but she is still very strong in the right hands. I have faced God like Nurses who decimate everyone even against really good Survivors.
Most Nurse players just didn't want to invest time in learning her again. It's like with those kids you stole their favourite toy from. I have seen Streamers reacting like that when she got changed. They did not even try to learn.
The reason I'm not playing Nurse is she feels very buggy since her rework. Before the rework I was a good nurse, not a great nurse. Never used more than 2 blinks. After the rework now I'm an okay nurse. The recharge requires me to save one of my blinks when traversing the map because I don't want to find someone and be empty. Normally I have to use my blinks just to close distance then wait for recharge and blink again to try to land a hit. Survivors don't even try to juke her anymore. They just run in a straight line when they are first spotted because they know she can't catch up to them on the first set of blinks without range add ons. When I try to do a quick blink through an object there's a good chance I won't pass through it. Missing a blink feels very punishing. I know how to play as Nurse but I just don't have fun with it anymore. It feels like I'm fighting the game as well as 4 other people.
-
I think a more accurate answer is smurfing never left. Thanks to the changes of rank reset people tend to stay in their rank ranges but there's nothing stopping someone from taking a 3 month break then coming back.
-
Bloodwarden is like the ultimate ######### slap to the face, provided you get it to activate. I think one of it's strengths is not many killers use it so they don't expect it. I had a game as trapper. I had a rift challenge where I had to kill X amount of survivors during the EGC so I swapped out something for BW. It was on Oni's map and it was bad. I was playing terrible. I didn't have any kills by the time all 5 gens were done. Didn't bring NOED cause I don't like using it. Naturally the survivors were dicking around near the end. Searching chests, 99%ing gates. I chased 2 of them out. I managed to catch a Steve. He was drawing my attention and running at jungle gyms near the open exit for more boldness points. He looped a pallet and stepped in a trap I planted at the beginning of the game. I picked him up and carried him away from the only exit gate that was open. It was like 30% left on the timer. I walked away and let Nancy save him. Then I chased them all the way to the gate. I didn't swing at anyone even though Nancy was body blocking Steve. They get to the gate, teabag and find out I'm using BW. The hatch isn't open yet, no one has a key and BW is clearly going to last till the entity takes them. Those 15 seconds of "were screwed" were amazing. They even commented me in the end game chat about how epic that was. You know it's good when the survivor's give positive comments for killing them.
Stupid question but I've never done it before. As a killer how do you open the gates?
-

@Blueberry said:
I used to not be a fan of this idea but it's been growing on me more and more. It would allow the devs to keep making very strong perks without worrying about them getting all stacked together.
That said, if their balance team were the ones deciding how much points each perk would get I'd be terrified. It's been quite clear for years that whoever the balance team is, they don't play the game at high ranks.
Yeah I don't trust the balance team one bit. Anyone who puts 50 hours into both sides could have told them MoM was a bad idea. Whoever thought of patch 1.9.2 should be fired.
Now that I think about it. A point system may be too difficult to balance. Instead just put the perks into 4 categories. Perk slot 1, 2, 3 and 4. Put all the 2nd chance perks in slot 4 so you can't stack them.
-
I'm breaking the 4th wall here but I used to play Final Fantasy 11 which was an MMO much like world of warcraft. We had a job called the blue mage. It was a magic user that learned the abilities of monsters. Once you learn a spell you could use it anytime provided you equipped it. However you were limited on how many spells you could equip. You were restricted to about 45 points in total. Some skills were 2 points while the stronger ones were around 8 points. You could equip any spell but you were restricted in how many you could bring to a battle. If you were content with like 5 spells that were 8 points each you could do that. Or go in with 15 different low tier spells. Equipped certain spells even provided perks just for having them. One very sought after perk was called Auto Refresh which caused my magic to regenerate without having to rest but it required about 15 points to equip the spells needed for it. So if I wanted this awesome perk I had to set aside 1/3 of my load out. That sounds very similar to what they are suggesting sort of.
-
If a console swf were to face a PC Nurse that knows how to blink. They will never play cross platform again.
-
I've been suggesting limiting what perks can be mixed together. If you look at the recent chapters we hardly get anything that shakes up the meta because it's too powerful with what we already have. Most perks now are very niche or just flat out awful.
@Orionbash said:
No. You sound like a salty killer main that got adrenaline/DS bombed and is trying to find a way to nerf them.

They can remove the effect of gen's aura for survivors in trail of torment, it destroys the effect of this perk and the cooldown could be at least shorter 50/45/40 seconds would be okay. Forced Penance? The effect of broken status could last a bit longer maybe 50/55/60 seconds? Deathbound? I don't know about this perk.
Yeah the gen perk makes me think they learned nothing from GF's ptb. Telling the survivor's the killer is in stealth defeats the purpose of going into stealth.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/156315/will-they-change-pyramid-heads-perks
The only survivor perks that have been universally regarded as strong picks in the last year and a half or so have been Deliverance (Adam) and Inner Strength (Nancy). Also, Mettle of Man (Ash) was really strong at the time of its release, but it's been nerfed.
My feeling is that Behaviour is very gun-shy about introducing anymore very strong meta-caliber perks into the mix, because power creep is a thing, and the perk system is already too giant and unwieldy.
We need to limit what perks can be mixed together. Throw all the 2nd chance perks into one category and the survivors can only equip 1 or 2. Old MoM probably didn't need to be nerfed so long as you couldn't mix it with DS and BT and Adren. Otherwise were going to keep getting crappy niche perks.
As for the OPs topic. They might tweak some of the numbers but I doubt they will change anything about his perks. I'm more worried they will be typical dev fashion and nerf him before the release.

The map actually seems awful for killers.
And indoor map that is massive and takes a long time to patrol gens, seems pretty bad so far
Certain killers love indoor maps. GF, Mikey, Pig, Wraith. Stealth killers because by the time you have line of sight they are already in melee range. Killers like Billy hate indoor because there's no room to sprint from gen to gen. Nurse its a double edged sword. She can go up and down floors but theres plenty of los blockers and if you want to cancel a long blink by clicking downward, you might end up going through the floor. Trapper can do well on indoor maps provided theirs tall grass but id rather have out door ones.

You're right. I'm not saying every hook perk is bad. That was a hyperbole. I just meant that with DS and BT, hook perks are something we can take a break from and let's get new perks that are useful and hopefully can't be abused by SWF. I know that's asking for too much but I'm gonna ask for it anyways lol.
There are a few underrated perks that are pretty good but they arent worth swapping out the meta. Hopefully ph forces people to mix things up.

@Huff said:
I wouldn't call myself a main myself, but I've picked up a few tricks here and there. The simplest and probably one of the easiest pieces of advice you can follow is to just not put your traps in predictable spots. It's okay if you have a trap on hand that you need to get rid to just get it down and activated, in order to pick up a different trap. Other than that, I don't think it should be the main priority to just always put traps under pallets and stuff, because the survivors will pick up on those real quick. Some clever spots are for example: 1. Using patches of grass on the edges of things that survivors loop (they'll usually expect a loop to be safe if they don't see a trap under the pallet or the windows) and 2. There's this one trick I learned from Otz. The tractor that you'll see on Coldwind maps has a spot on it (the spot on the right the survivors always vault the window at, that has the ramp going downward) where you can vault the window as Trapper, turn around, and place a trap right on top of that hay bale. There's no way for the survivors to disarm the trap other than stepping into the trap. You'll just find little clever spots like that here and there that are really hard to avoid even to a decent player.
Good luck though. I like Trapper a lot and I think even though he's relatively simple, he has quite a bit you can learn with him and he feels rewarding. Hopefully you'll find him fun too.
Another trap spot that cannot be disarmed is on haddiesfield. The houses that have roofs you need to vault windows to get to. If you vault the window and plant a trap. They can't get to it to disarm it. If they use that window they will get trapped.
-
You just gave me a great idea. They already kissed Konami's ass to get PH. Let's go one step further. Lets get a Silent Hill Nurse outfit for our Nurse /kefka laugh
-
That's one of the things I like about trapper. Past a certain rank not many expect the killer to use him. It can catch people off guard cause they are so used to going again the meta.
I love it when I have a hex totem in a V shaped alcove. Soooo many people don't check the ground. Like a moth to a flame. Traps at the exit gates are somehow extra effective too.

Ya he can function but he has a LOT of things he has to worry about that most killers don't have to deal with. Addon dependant for sure, bags being mandatory so he has only one addon slot.
Not to mention every killer's weakness, headsets, counters him even more. If one person see's a trap they ALL know where it is.
-
I can't give an entire description but I have some advice.
Learn Corrupt Intervention from Plague. Blocks all but the 3 closest gens for 2 mins. Gives you time to setup. If they want to do gens they have to come to you. If they don't want to risk it and wait out intervention then that's more time for you to setup.
Whispers. It doubles for trapper. Not only does it help you find survivors but it tells you when no one is nearby so it may be safe to plant a trap without being seen.
Trap the long ass loops just to deny them from using them but most will expect that. Instead of trapping under pallets try trapping around the pallet loop in tall grass. Places people will try to loop you when being chased.
Always bring a trapper bag. Being able to carry more traps speeds up your job.
Never commit to a chase too early. You want to setup your traps before you commit to chases.
Aim for a 3 gen. Learn to let certain gens go and try to get them to come into your area that is rigged.
Whenever possible, hook people in the basement and trap the ######### out of it.
As for links. Otz has a nice guide to trapper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvTesdUvYbI
As for twitch streamers I recommend theentitylefthand and humerogamers. They are pretty good trapper mains.
