  • Ive had people accuse me of wall hacking until I explained to them how whispers worked.

Ruin is amazing for me at least. It's a very good perk. If you think it's bad, you should try using it and you'll feel a huge difference.

Ive used it with surveillance but id much rather take pop or corrupt intervention. It only works if you can push them off the gens. Certain killers are better at that than others.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1353610#Comment_1353610

Yeah those gen slow down perks are pretty useless outside of Pop

Theres intervention but that doesnt block all gens. Great for trapper.

  • I think gen speed is a symptom rather than the actual problem. I feel the real issues are some maps are too big and killers are not equal. Killers needs a long explanation but to try to keep it short. Most have little to no mobility, they need time to setup, their powers don't help them to end chases quickly or they lack map pressure.

Nerfing ruin also didn't help. It wasn't great at slowing down gens against good survivors but it at least bought killer some time. Some killers desperately need that time it bought. Now there is literally nothing slowing down gens without the killers direct intervention.

  • Gen spawns are also whack on swamp. One match I was looking for totems and there was a gen literally in the corner of a map. Pressed against the outer wall.

  • On any killer that would be broken lol. I feel some hex perks need a rework or tweaking. Devour Hope imo is what a hex perk should be. No notification until it becomes dangerous and gains major benefits half way instead of just at the end. They don't get a notification until 3 stacks and by then you already have exposure. Which makes cleansing it very difficult. 5 stacks is bragging rights.

Haunted Grounds is more like a 1 min punisher for cleansing a hex totem.

TOTH kinda sucks if you ask me. Hex perks are already very high risk high reward and running a 2nd perk that can be removed feels like doubling down.

Lullaby is fun but 5 stacks is way too much work for too little pay off. Unless your doing very well the gens are done by the time you hit 5 stacks. If should remove the audio que right off the bat and more stacks increases the penalty of a failed skill check.

Ruin is crap now unless your a mobile killer.

Third Seal is for annoying the survivors.

Retribution needs a complete rework because it's a half ass bitter murmur.

Despite various threads NOED is perfectly fine.

  • I can't tell if your being sarcastic. Encase your serious, ruin now is only good if your a speedy killer that can constantly chase people off the gens. Compared to what it was it does nothing to slow gens down now.

DBD should be creative and develop there Killers and Survivers....

When there are so many possibilities with a killer y'all create....

Like , Wolf, Spider, some kind of alien, ect

So many players have made several suggestions of some really awesome killers and Survivers, So why base your game on other people's Fame,

Create your own line of Killers and Survivers like the game idea was base on.

Like the way the Game started y'all's own

    Killers and Survivers Ideas.......

Licensed killers draw in more customers because people are familiar with them. That's all the licensed killers are. A way to get more people to play this game before they realize how broken it is.

  • Samination's "Here comes the trapper" >.>

  • The perk was alright for new players dealing with old ruin. Before they learned how to hit great skill checks. Now that ruin is garbage, technician lost some of it's value.

  • As survivor, I expect the killer to put on their try hard pants and bring a mori. Show no mercy to anyone. I also expect that survivor to not touch a single gen and be a hindrance to the match.

Playing as killer I expect someone with .TTV in their name to be a dick. Someone who deliberately tries to get my attention so they can try to show off their chase skills. Then DC's once they lose a mind game or learn I'm not going to fall for a flashlight save.

  • She needs another rework. The old add ons were broken but the new ones are damn near useless. Revert her base power back to what it was and rework her add ons again. Don't give us back quadruple blink nurse cause that was broken but give us something better than what we got now.

  • I think Hag is fine. She's one of the killers that looks weak but the people who know how to use her tend to be pretty good. Where's Space Coconut when you need him :P

Nah, the Maps sometimes spawn with Deadzones. Can happen on Thompsons House as well. Or on Resting Place, I once had 4 Gens in one half of the Map and exactly two Pallets.

This is since they updated the Maps.

I think the devs do that on purpose. Some gens are particually dangerous to fix but are necessary if you don't want to give the killer a 3 gen later.

  • I'll probably buy him just so I can piss of survivors that depend on DS way too much :P

  • Could someone have lead the killer on a chase through that area and used all the pallets before you went there?

Bro racism=act of hate against a person because of race/ thinking your better then a race. Sexism is thinking your better or hating a certain gender. Homophobia is hate involving gay people. Did you not know the difference between those?

No, I don't. Which is why I said "whichever it's called". Thank you for clearing that up :P

I know when I see a video with the title "It Triggers the SJWS" I know upon viewing I will lose several braincells. The issue with the opening scene was that it was gratuitous and added absolutely nothing to the movie, it exploited a very real issue for shock value. There's also the issue of queer representation in film being mostly tragedy, an example being the Kill Your Gay trope.((I would suggest googling that as it'll answer most of your confusion)) You could have simply had Pennywise devour a member of the pair then be done with it.

Eh, people have been criticizing King for a while and just because it wasn't an issue then doesn't mean it shouldn't be an issue now. People form hindsight and have critical thoughts about things. It's what....smart people do? It's how we improve as people. To not discuss pop culture and the politics featured is honestly anti-intellectualism.

In the books that scene was relevant. Pennywise goes into hibernation every so often and an act of great violence causes him to wake up. A bunch of homophobes beating up a couple because they are ghey is an act of racism/sexism whichever it's called. It acts as the catalyst to wake him up and start the 2nd half of the book. In the movie they didn't go over that much. I think they just did it in the movie as a tribute to the book.

  • I just report/block them and move on. I don't even give them the time of day. They aren't worth the attention.

  • uhhhh, it was better than the 2nd half of the original TV movie but I still think the book tops it.

See, my point is that I haven't seen anyone say otherwise, which is why I asked you to point out who'd been saying these things. Otherwise, it just looks like you're arguing with a strawman.

Whose arguing with a strawman here? I stated a question and your nit picking every single detail. Asking for who, what, where, why and when. You are practically responding to every post on this thread. Are you the Alphabet Police?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1351225#Comment_1351225

I meant in DbD. We're on a DbD forum discussing DbD.

However, I heard about that and it was a handful of people complaining. Barely worth mentioning and not representative of any group. My gay boyfriend and I found the scene accurately portrayed what it's like to be LGBT in certain parts of the world.

In DBD or outside DBD, my point still stands. If you want someone in here to represent a particular group you need to also accept that character will be

    Hit with a machete

    Hit by a chainsaw

    Mauled by a blunt object

    Impaled by a hook

Have a RBT on their head

    Get sent to a cage

    Have a finger chopped off

    ect

If the devs come out and say Dwight is ghey I don't want to hear Dwight mains get bitchy when I hit them as killer and they say I'm sexist.

  • When IT chapter 2 came out. The opening scene a homosexual couple gets the ######### beat out of them, one gets thrown off a bridge and eaten by Pennywise. Some people were claiming that was racist despite the fact it was in the original book back when King wrote it in 1986.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzQb8AquLSk&t=499s

  • What also confuses me is when people ask for more representation in horror stuff and then they say it's racist that character gets chopped up into bits. You want a LGBTQ person in a horror game, fine. You have to accept the fact something bad will most likely happen to them given the genre.

  • I'm sure whatever race baiting is plastered all over the media will affect their decision. I'm waiting for BHVR to take out Claudette, Tapp and Adam because hitting them is considered a hate crime.

  • The thing I hate about killer is the inconsistency. It feels like every time I put on a meme or fun build I get a party of reds when my killer is like rank 13. Then I get clobbered and they say GG EZ. Then i switch to my real build on my real killer and crush the next group I come across. Only to learn that group was actually new players and I feel like a jerk for beating the ######### out of them. I don't want to have to try my hardest every single match to stand a chance at winning. Since the MM is #@$%ed I can get reds at literally any rank now. So no matter how long a break I take, I can come back to R1s.

  • I've learned the devs had no clue what they're doing when patch 1.9.2 was released. The one that removed the timing needed to stun a killer with a pallet or flashlight during a pick up animation. I've said it before and i'll say it again. Tyde said it best when he said "What's scary is the devs, the people who made this game, were the ones who thought this was a good idea"

After that there was the introduction of MoM. Anyone with 100 hours into both sides could have told them that perk WILL need to be nerfed heavily. They released it anyway. After it became common knowledge "Mom is OP" they didn't nerf it until after a hefty amount of people bought Ash.

Then they had to go and #@$% with the Nurse. Their one strong killer. What's worse is they nerfed her under the disguise that they were going to rework her add ons. Even both sides agreed that needed to be done but they surprised us by nerfing her base kit. Now I fear any killer can be put on the chopping block. I'm surprised they haven't nerfed Billy yet.

Last was the ruin nerf. Their excuse was it was used in X amount of matches and we feel that means its too powerful. Meanwhile DS, Adren, BT, Unbreakable are still present in every match past rank 10 and remain untouched. The nerfing of tool boxes was only done to try to mitigate the dmg from nerfing ruin. It feels like 1 step forward, 3 steps back with these devs. Every good thing they do they find some other way to mess it up.

Dude you didnt know? The Killer should entertain the survivors so they can have fun.

What scares me is the number of people who actually believe that.

Yea, botany knowledge with it makes it really strong. But individually it isn't that good anymore, I wanna see it used more often individually, you know?

Yeah I think SC is fine. It used to be too strong but now I feel it's fair. It's an infinite self heal but it takes a lot of time. IS is better IMO but you have to find a totem and there's only 5. Bond can help you find someone to heal you. Even Pharmacy can get you a medkit to heal yourself.

  • "A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?"

    :P

  • Yet another post of a survivor telling killers how they should play.

  • Sometimes I do well with him and others I don't but it really feels good when I chase someone into a trap. His early game sucks without corrupt intervention. He needs time to setup. He needs to be unseen to setup and he needs survivors to go into the areas he's trapped. So a 3 gen is very important for him. His traps are all over the map. He can only carry 1 without a trapper bag. Most places to trap are obvious which is why the unlikely areas are vital to learn. Some maps lack tall grass and his traps are too easy to spot(game, hawkins, lerys). His biggest weakness is headsets. One person see's a trap and everyone knows where it is. When you do well with trapper against good survivors, it feels like you won the match by out smarting them rather than depending on broken mechanics.

  • I'm no expert but as an okay nurse one thing that messes with me is the shack. If you loop around the outside I constantly have to guess.

Did they go around and keep running?

Are they sitting at the corner waiting to double back?

Did they go inside the shack?

Nurse has so many bugs right now not many people are playing her. Breaking los and looping tall objects is the way to go. Also corn. It's the nurses kryptonite.

  • Those survivors to me looked like they sucked. They rushed gens, hid behind their 2nd chance perks and prayed the gens would be done before the killer caught them.

  • @Primalux135 said:

As devs said DS is not an anitunnel perk its just reward surv for playing poorly. So killers should get a perk that allow to play poorly like I dunno... If survivor escapes from killer sight the survivor enter on dying state but hey.... 120 secs cooldown for being balanced.

If 3 gens pop within a minute the entity requires a 6th gen to be repaired :P

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

First of all, I don't think Peanits makes Perks.

Second of all, it's not that the devs keep making bad Perks; I think every chapter has at least one Perk that's really, really good. The problem is that the current best, most used, meta Perks are so insanely powerful that no other Perks can really compare.

At least, that's the case for Survivors. I've seen plenty of great new Perks get called bad, but most of these Perks range from serviceable to B-tier; the real issue is that they're all completely overshadowed by Borrowedrenaline Strike Hardbreakable Burst.

Theres also the very real danger of adding a perk that gets broken when combined with other perks.

When i prestige someone and i use alternative perks cause i dont have the good stuff yet. Some of the misc perks are good. They make me ask "how did i not know this?" Like you said, they are overshadowed by the meta.

Ah yes the 5th survivor can't forget about them. When all 4 of u are slugged just get the 5th one to pick u up how could i forget thx for the help mate

I never defended quitting first of all. Second of all people that dc against certain killers should be penalized yes. I personally enjoy going against Spirit as it is not an easy m1 killer to loop. The situation im talking about are when the killer is slugging all 4 survivors for the whole match on purpose, not just slugging cuz u saw someone with infectious fright. And no u are not obligated to be nice cuz someone DC'd get your points however u can. But getting slugged until u bleed out is just toxic for the game and i say that as i play both roles both red ranks. Another reason why dc penalties should be looked at is the game breaking bugs it has such as getting stuck inside boxes in the shack after getting hooked and u have no choice but to dc if the killer doesn't activate end game, or as killer when a survivor gets stuck when running out of the exit gates. Again not defending quitting whenever u verse smth "boring" but when its actually excusable

If the killer is slugging for the sake of letting people bleed out, recover. While the killer is chasing someone else have a survivor run by, tap you and your back on your feet.

  • Haven't had that happen lately. I remember the days when a survivor could shine it in your ear and seer your retinas.

  • Bring "were gonna live forever" and a BPS/escape cake. Make 4 saves or get 4 protection hits. That will give you an extra 200% BP at the score screen.

  • Id rather take a slugging killer over a survivor that quits every single time they aren't having their definition of fun and gets away with it. A slugging killer I can work with. I can get better at looping, bring unbreakable or join a swf. A person who quits every time they face against a spirit should be punished. They are screwing their team over as well as the killer and they will never improve. When I play trapper I get quite a few quitters because they DSed me and then stepped in a trap. Then the remaining 3 yell at me for not going easy on them. I'm not at fault here. I am not obligated to go easy on any of you because one of your team quit. You should be yelling at your teammate.

It baffles me the amount of people on these forums that defend quitting. I've never seen any other game that has people defending such bad behavior.

  • I didn't take a picture of it but I was on the swamp map. I was looking for totems when I saw one literally in the corner of the map pressed against the wall. I never knew they spawned there.

  • A friend reinstalled the game after a year break and wanted to swf. We were in a 3 to 4 man swf for 2 nights. I hadn't played in awhile so my survivor rank was like 18. In 2 nights I went to rank 8. I didn't count the number of matches we played, the amount of times we all escaped or the killers we were facing. I can say however long it took for me to go up in 10 ranks we only faced 1 good killer. The rest were either new or bad. Saw a few people with 1800 hours but they were terrible at killer. The killers with 70 hours, they have an excuse cause they are new. The ranking system in this game is an absolute joke. Being a killer main, I felt bad for most of these people.

So because a streamer does it and hasn't been caught yet makes it legal?

Would be great if the recharge mechanic was removed. I don't care if they increase fatigue time to compensate. The recharge makes her miserable to play. She's still strong and I can still win with her but I'd have more fun sticking my hand in a blender than playing a match with her anymore

BHVR might as well have deleted her from the game with the basekit changes they made

I agree. That cd isn't long but it really increases the time it takes to travel the map. Once you find someone you need to recharge then spend 2 blinks just to close the distance. Then recharge before you can try to land a hit.

  • I'm pretty sure it is banable cause your screwing over your team. If you quit every single time you face a killer you don't like how will you improve?

Answer. You won't and trust me. You will be quitting a lot at higher ranks where spirit is common.

This is a narrow viewpoint. The more killers bring moris, the more survivors bring keys, the more killers bring moris, and it just goes on and on.

Both need to be dealt with

It's a bit of a chicken and the egg thing but I see it like this.

You can't see if I bring a mori until the match starts. I can see if your bringing a key. If I bring a mori it's because the survivors started the cycle by bringing a key. As I said previously "In my case". I only bring moris if I see a key. If there's no key I don't bring a mori. Not all killers are like me however. Now a mori from 5 stacks of Devour Hope, IMO that's fair because I had to work for that and it can be cleansed.

1 … 74 75 76 77 78 … 98
