  • Watch some of Space Coconut's games. Hag is actually in a good spot. She has a low pick rate but the people who are really good with her get plenty of kills. She doesn't need a rework. After Nurse and Billys "rework" we all know that term really means nerf. Besides I'm sure Spirit and Huntress are next. The greedy survivor mains won't be satisfied until they are playing against bots.

  • Maybe we should put in a system. Like a soft ban that kicks in if you ######### on your first hook?

I've never seen a community that pushes so hard to defend their right to DC when they are losing. Suiciding on the hook is essentially unplugging your computer because you are giving up before the match really started. Yet there's a ton of people on this forum that seem to defend their right to quit when they aren't having fun. News flash. Your not the only one who bought this game. Other people want to have fun too. By quitting your ruining the experience for 4 other people.

  • Your absoultely right but the issue is. They make more money pushing out new content to sell us. They don't get paid extra for balancing their game -.-

I have heard about this glitch on pc, i play on xbox one and ive never encountered this issue, but that would be a game breaking glitch if survivors could see what killer they were facing before hand.

Agreed. There's a reason the survivors aren't meant to see the killer before the match starts. If they know it's a doctor everyone will put on calm spirit. If they know it's Mikey/Pig/GF they will put on spine chill.

  • "I will be uninstalling until this bias is fixed"

Considering how fast devs tend to fix killer problems. I don't think you will be coming back anytime soon.

  • @BillyMain77 said:

As a rank one killer not being able to change my killer after seeing the survivors before hand doesnt bother me. Tbh no matter what items the survivors bring in im not changing my build. Now if i get a team of blendettes i bring a mori.

On the other hand it does suck to not be able to level up other killers while searching for a game especially since MMR and cue times are really messed up right now, and its not uncommon to be waiting 10 or more minutes for a match.

Yes. I used to que up as one killer then spend my bp on another. Can't do that anymore. It's more alt+tabing and watching youtube while I wait.

My only issue with the killer lock is if the survivors still have that exploit that lets them see who the killer is. So long as that never happens I'll live with the killer lock.

Bruh you sound like an entitled killer like go somewhere. You wack killers go around tunnelling hardcore for eboni moris but cry about a locker tech? Just get good. I get wrecked all the time playing killer but guess what? I dont care cause IT'S A VIDEO GAME. The fact that you're that tight over ds is really annoying, its 1 stun for 5 seconds. You don't like it? Slug. Slugging not working? Use a stealth killer. That's not working? Use 1 hit killers. That's not working? Use hex totems. That's not working? Use perks to slow the game down. I named a few choices that you can do instead of crying about 5 seconds of stun

If you don't know how much of a problem DS can be then you clearly don't play enough killer. All the suggestions you mentioned have built in counters. Some dont require the survivors to bring anything at all. Everything the killer brings to the table has a counter. Survivor on the other hand, not so much.

Slug=unbreakable, soul guard, "get help" then someone insta revives

Stealth= spine chill or just move your camera while working on a gen.

1 hit killers=Survivors who know how to loop and route don't have a problem with one shots.

Hex= If I have to explain the counter for Hex perks your even newer than I thought

Slow down perks=only go so far.

You tell me to git gud while your defending the most OP and broken perk in the survivor arsenal. If DS were removed you know how many survivors would suddenly fall out of red ranks? DS may have been created with good intentions but survivors abuse the living piss out of it. Anything that encourages you to interact with the killer is ass backwards.

  • I love using kindred when I solo. My problem is when the killer is face camping me, the other survivors can see him doing it and they STILL refuse to do gens.

In my swf I usually play with we have 1 person who is particularly good at looping. So much that most killers break off chasing him if they see someone else. We often run bond just so we can see if our team mate is heading our way. So we know to gtfo lol

  • An ongoing analysis of Steam's player numbers, seeing what's been played the most.

    Dead my ass lol

In the last 4 months there's been 50-60k people playing a dead game.

In order for 4 people to be looking for a hatch, the match would have to basically be over and no one cares about hatch at that point.

We're clearly talking about a 1 v 1 hatch search but sure, let's take things out of context

I was saying there's 4 survivors as just a blatant statement of the game.

As for the hatch, yes in 1v1 the killer has the advantage. However if the killer killed 3 people before the gens were completed they basically won at that point. Yet the survivors still get a chance to escape. If all the gens are completed before the killer killed anyone there is no 2nd chance mechanic. One that works anyway. NOED is not a 2nd chance perk like DS and it can be completely removed before it comes into play. There's blood warden but you need to be able to hook someone after the gates are open. Most people 99% a gate and wait till everyone is there before opening. I remember the days when you couldn't close the hatch and you had the dreaded stand off. Id rather they remove the hatch and tell the survivor "better luck next time"

  • @Orion said:

All other things being equal, the person moving more quickly will have the upper hand. However, as we all know, all other things are not equal, starting with the fact that survivors are in third person.

Not to mention there's 4 survivors to the one killer

As far as hatch goes theres the cirucmstances leading up to that point. I feel if you couldnt get the gens done the killer either played well and deserves the 4k or your team was playing poorly and deserves the 4 deaths. Id rather they remove the hatch personally. Why is it if survivors are getting crushed there is always an option to escape. If killer is having a terrible match they're told to git gud.

  • You should honestly stop dcing

That really goes both ways tho because ranked is so ######### bad or camping killers can just chill, like i know ds can be annoying but i'd say just being forced to tank hook stages cuz of allies or a scummy killer is worse because i couldn't even play the game anymore after the first chase.

Scummy allies can at least be fixed by playing in swf. There is nothing a killer can do against people who abuse DS. Unless they play PH :P

  • Why should i be unfairly matched with someone so a streamer can put on a show?

Having a chance to bully someone lesser skilled than you is no reason to keep a ######### MM.

People have been saying this game will die when X happens. Its still going

  • Like everyone said, it all depends on the situation.

If I'm trapper I take the ds. Mainly because if they ds me and step in a trap as I am stunned it's almost always a rage quit :P

  • @Crap_Martini said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1498903#Comment_1498903

You forgot rage quitting because of being slugged, knowing that the killer is going to wait the 60 secs and then hook you.

That just means no matter what the killer does, the survivor will rage quit.

Eat the ds and hook them=rage quit

Slug and wait 60 secs=rage quit

Ignore them and look for someone else=not an option. If the only person the killer see's is the person with DS then it makes zero sense to give up on chasing them.

You keep playing it's your problem, you are on the wrong here. Even the Game Director asks you to play some other damned game (he heard civ is nice, etc.).

They got their money from you, they are done with you. DbD is marketed towards fresh blood with no consideration to veterans. I stopped playing, other than very few hours per week.

This should be in the loading screen.

Unless you legitimately have a reason to leave (I.e you're sick irl) you shouldn't be leaving and deserve the penalty for doing so.

    /clap

Other people play this game. People who paid for it just like you. By quitting because you aren't having fun you are ruining their fun. Hence why you shouldnt DC at all unless you have to go.

    @Tricks said:

Yes my randomly intermittent crashes due to low video memory welcome the return of the 'disconnect' penalty.

    lol. just lol. wd behaviour

It sucks for you but maybe you should play something else or get a better pc. People shouldnt get away with DCing all because your pc can''t handle it. The specs were right below the "add to cart" button so it's not like they withheld that information from you to get a purchase. I've had random crashes once in awhile and I only have to wait like 1 min. Those only happen once every few weeks for me so I can put up with it. If you crash so much that the DC penalty is accumulating maybe you should upgrade?

Lmao, as bad as we may have it I'm just thinking about the Nintendo Switch players...

Reminds me of Fallout 4 VR. They ported it over to vr headsets without actually testing it I think. You couldnt use scopes in the game. You could equip them but the moment you drew the gun your screen was locked in aim down sights. There was no mechanic to hold it up to your eye when you wanted to use the scope. They clearly didn't think anything through and thought it would be a quick buck.

My favorite was the cryolator in the master lock vault in the starting location. You can't pick the lock that early but nothing stopped you from moving your virtual hands into the case and picking up the gun lol

  • My problem with DS is when the person I hooked gets saved and then they deliberately try to get my attention because they have 60 secs immunity. Sure I can slug them but if they have unbreakable that is still time wasted.

A prime example is I hook survivor A. I leave. I chase survivor B. Survivor A is saved. I down+hook survivor B. Survivor A rescues survivor B before I even get a chance to walk away. 1 of 2 things happen.

Survivor A has DS and survivor B has DS+BT. Going after B is not efficient because they will take longer to rehook. So I go after A again. If A gets into a locker I have to take the DS. If I down them before locker and refuse to pick them up, that's still time wasted. Unbreakable can render my work for naught. Even without unbreakable they can heal themselves high enough that someone else can do a drive by and revive them.

My favorite is when I take the DS, I commit to the chase and down them again. Then in the end game chat they ######### that I tunneled them. Well maybe you shouldn't have gone out of your way to piss me off. Did that ever occur to you?

In that situation there is no right choice. Both will waste my time and in this game, where on average 3 gens pop by the time you hook one survivor, time is very precious to the killer. Which is why I believe DS should turn off if the killer hooked someone else.

  • I stopped reading at "I gave dbd a best shot on console". DBD on console is broken and shouldnt have come out. At least not in the condition it's in. It felt like a cash grab and not very well thought out.

  • If anything DS needs a nerf. Make it so it doesn't work on grabs/lockers. Also if I hook you, you get saved and I hook someone else. Your DS should deactivate because I wasn't tunneling you. Too many people get in the killer's face because they have 60 seconds of diplomatic immunity. They DS to piss off the killer and when they get caught again they rage quit because the killer "tunneled" them.

  • If you think about it, the game puts extreme importance on how fast you can make that first down. At the start of a match

    4 survivors on gens.

Killer finds someone. 1 person being chased, 3 survivors working on gens.

1 person hooked, 1 person being chased, 1 person going for the save, 1 person working on a gen.

Literally the faster you hook someone and chase someone else it goes from 3 gens being repaired to 1. Even zero if they arent using headsets and both go for the save. That's why 3 gens popping by the time you make that first down is so punishing.

  • Otz has a good trapper video or two. Entitylefthand and Humerogamers are pretty good trapper mains on twitch.

  • Most killers that face camp either don't know what they are doing is inefficient or they want to piss off the person on the hook. Whether it's deserved or the killer is being toxic. Face camping ONLY works in the killers favor if the survivors try to save that person on the hook. Most experienced survivors will see the killer is face camping and do gens. The person on the hook will stay there for as long as possible. 3-4 gens will pop by the time that person dies and the killer is at a major disadvantage. The only time face camping works in the killers favor is if the survivors all stop doing gens and try to go for a save. Which is a terrible idea if the killer is face camping. The problem is new survivors dont know what to do when a killer face camps. They go for a save only to add to the body pile. The killer is getting several kills playing like this and they think "I must be doing something right". That killer ranks up thinking they are playing well only to discover they will get crushed playing like this against experienced survivors.

  • Maybe if they weren't nerfing billy they might have got around to moris sooner.

  • The auras are bad since the patch. BBQ is damn near useless now because gens and survivor auras are almost identical. I can't help but feel this was a shadow nerf to aura perks. If they announced they were nerfing bbq at the same time they were nerfing Billy the forums would blow up with complaint threads.

I've been trying to get adept for the Plague for quite some time now, I've had a few games so far and I have come so painfully close son many times but it is due to stuff that is completely out of my hand that I don't.

The first match it was RNG with the hatch so that I understood, that was just bad luck.

But in another match it was due to the other survivors not rescuing a player who died on first hook, how was I supposed to do anything about that? I wasn't camping as I hate playing that way but yeah they were left to die and I lost out on my achievement due to it AND BY A SINGLE BAR NO LESS.

It's difficult enough as I haven't had her long and I'm a green rank killer getting put against teams of red ranks.

I really think the requirements for merciless killer need to be changed as it mainly used in the adepts and rarely at any point else that I know of.

I would like to hear possible changes that could be implemented to make merciless victories less stressful to achieve.

Before it was easier to get adept achievements. You would wait for the rank reset then play against newbs. Back then rank 1's were sent back to rank 10 but they changed it to try to keep the higher lvls from bullying the new players.

BHVR needs to spend less time trying to punish people for disconnecting against maps/killers they don’t find enjoyable and more time making all of the maps/killers enjoyable to to play on/against/as.

    In a perfect world.

Right that there should be more reasons to want to play the game.

Wrong that if they didn't punish people for dcing then even more people would do it.

There are 4 possible toxic players on the survivor side, and 1 on the killer side.

In my experience the toxicity borns on the survivor side, and then the killer as a reaction of that he might get toxic/dirty. I faced sometimes iris Huntress that literally said "tired of genrush + BM on the door so iris addon for you".

Only if survivors could notice this the community would be so much better.

Yes. Several times I play a lower lvled killer that isn't meta, for fun. Only to be destroyed by a swf. Then I switch to my meta killer and crush the next group of survivors. In the end game chat I often apologize and say "My last match was toxic. I needed to vent"

  • @TAG said:

Camping during the endgame isn't toxic, though.

It's not toxic but "for me" it's unsportsmanlike. Under certain conditions I will do it but when I'm nurse I tend to refrain from it because I can catch them again. Had that Jake not teabagged several times I would have gladly left the hook and someone could have saved him.

  • @Peanits said:

It does not reset. It's a hidden number purely used for matchmaking, it's not meant to be something you grind for each month/season. Ranks will continue to reset each month and you'll be able to focus on getting those to rank 1 if you'd like, but they won't be used for matchmaking purposes anymore.

I have a terrible feeling people will still go into matches and lose for the intention of lowering their MMR. Much like people try to derank to get easier games.

That’s everyone’s excuse heck if you Mori someone the excuse for them dcing is always “must be a bug with Mori my game crashed” then proceed to call you every name in the book for bringing it to counter the key lmao funniest moment is when I called 4 solos out on their bs cuz they all dced and blamed it on connection issues I’m here like wouldnt I have crashed then since all four of you somehow did?

I tend to get people who dc when I play trapper. If I down someone who was being toxic, I hook them, they get saved then they come towards me because they have ds. So I take the bait and decide to let them waste it before end game. I down them again, pick them up, DS, then while I'm stunned they vault a window only to discover I trapped it. Once I pick them up again they suddenly dc. Yeah, the timing was all to convienent for me to believe their pc crashed. Then in the end game chat the remaining 3 whine because I didn't go easy on them.

"Why you try hard? We had someone dc. It wasn't a fair game"

"That wasn't a dc, that person quit when they realized they got out played. Instead of yelling at killers you should get your own house in order"

  • @HeyAssButt said:

This is completely normal. Finding a match without at least 1 survivor playing like this is next to impossible.

did I say its okay? I just wanted to show: People not only DC against strong killer but even against weak killers if they are super boring

I wasnt suggesting you said it was okay. I was just pointing out an opinion. What I don't understand is how do people like this even get better at the game? If they quit every time they see a killer they dont like how do they learn to counter said killer?

  • Yes, survivors are super toxic. Survivors with .TTV in their names especially because they are trying to put on a show. They go out of their way to try to get the killers attention. Most magically DC when they get caught. When queing up solo if I see a twitch streamer in the party I usually leave before the match starts. Most killers see a streamer and assume they are toxic so they bring a Mori.

  • This is pathetic. A streamer quits the moment he see's a legion. What if he faces a nurse or a spirit? Just because a streamer does it does not mean it's okay. In fact this guy shouldnt have an audience. If he quits against a legion he must not be very good at the game. He must not get to play the game much at all because Legion is one of the worst killers in the game.

  • Can you please learn to use periods. Your entire rant looks like one long message.

  • Yeah I played a match as nurse. BBQ didn't do jack for me. I couldn't distinguish what was a gen and what was a person. I feel like The Predator when the humans learn I see in infrared so they light fires everywhere to blind me.

  • Lerys and midwich have some amazing totem spots. Every where else doesn't. I hooked someone and I noticed my DH totem was 3 feet from a gen. The moment someone starts to work on that gen they would see my totem.

  • I don't have a problem with flahslights anymore. In fact I enjoy seeing people with 4 flash lights because when I'm about to down someone they tend to drop what they're doing to try to get a save. Every time I down a survivor I face a wall. If no wall is present I act like I'm going to pick them up and draw the flash light saver out for a free hit. If they are trying to flash light save someone then they aren't working on gens.

  • If you ask the head of the balance team he'll tell you clown is strong and people dont know how to use him. If you ask virtually every killer main in the game, they'll tell you clown is the weakest.

  • Normally when someone says "I'm taking a break until X is fixed". Most don't come back because the devs never fixed X.

  • Sadly most of the good perks are on other killers. Your current build is pretty solid.

If your having trouble with gen pressure I suggest corrupt intervention from plague or pop goes the weasel from clown. I used to run Make Your Choice from The Pig but since she got a cd it's harder to get back to the hook to find the person who made the save. Monitor & Abuse from Doctor can mix well with NC. The problem with Nurses Calling is most survivors don't heal once they hear the heart beat. M&A shrinks your terror radius so it's smaller then 28 meters. So you can see them healing before they find out they're in your terror radius. If you want some end game pressure you can run noed or blood warden from Freddy. You could swap out one of your tracking perks for thanatophobia. Combined with sloppy if should slow down the game provided people are injured.

  • They should play the theme song from deliverance :P

I agree with all of your points. Billys add ons need to be redone and the auras are trash. Im also having 30 min waiting time for killer. "Billy add ons need to be redone"

They won't. They'll do the same with Nurse. Say job well done, despite the amount of players saying otherwise, then move on -.-

  • I have a terrible feeling these new auras were put in so it would be harder to spot survivors using BBQ. I just played a round as trapper and it was hard as hell to see my traps.
