What you don’t like Ash Mains?
Oh, what now?

If I am on my first hook or a survivor is nearby hovering over the hatch waiting for me to die I will hold on as long as possible. I will hope that the killer gets you for being a wuss and chickening out at the last second.
This is the first thread you've created that I actually agree with.

"Hello friends, this is Otz. It says so in the Bible somewhere."

The only insult I ever use is some variation of this:
"If I am such a trash killer, why are you dead?"

They cover up previously-open doorways, some of which were implemented to REMOVE infinites (ie; Groaning Storehouse & Ironworks of Misery main buildings). The breakable walls add the infinites back with what is basically a pre-dropped god pallet.
Considering the current kill rates of Killers in this game, most of whom being over 70%, I'm gonna go ahead and say there's nothing wrong with a one time save of a breakable door.
However, I do agree with Scott Jund's suggestion that they should be something Survivors build rather than being there automatically. Give it a build timer so Survivors have something else to do.
-
So you want them to back to SOLID walls and actual infinites?

The Tru3 Effect
Tru3 says a build/perk is strong.
Players copy what he does.
Survivors see that build/perk all the time and form the opinion its OP.
The build/perk is nerfed.
Tru3 finds something new.
Who the hell is Tru3?
I watch Otzdarva, Scott Jund, and Painreliever.

No there are people who want more serious policing of racism and general bigotry within the community, which BHVR is inept at outside their forums.
Removing it in and of itself is racist asf
I can assure you there are people that very much want that mask removed from the game entirely. There have been threads on this very forum about it, and people that have come at the devs DIRECTLY telling them to remove it.
-
Devour Hope is a way to throw away a perk slot 30 seconds into the game.

Well at least two of them were demanding it in the chat in the last Dev Q&A.

Jake is a rare survivor. You would have to make lobbies see if you get any if not try again. However the best mask is the claudette one imo.
There's a movement of very vocal people trying to get that one removed from the game.

I worded it weird I apologize. I meant like if I finish a match and it happens to be my 25th meg I get that face. So it could theoretically happen any match as leatherface.
Correct. This is going to vary based on random luck of what Survivors you face, and which ones you can hook versus which ones escape. It has to be sacrifices, too. Moris and such do not count.

So I could just randomly unlock one?
No, no. You get Smartface for 25 Claudettes. Survivorface for 25 Jakes, etc.
There just isn't any way to know how many you have already gotten until it appears in your cosmetics.
-
@magicmaster2020 said:
Wait, how do you get the masks?
Sacrifice Meg, Claudette, Jake, and Dwight to the entity 25 times EACH as Leatherface.
Sadly, there's no tracker that tells you how far along you are with each one.

This is what I've noticed:
The Entity will always go for a Perk first. If you pick a Perk, it immediately consumes one if there is another available.
The Entity will always choose a connecting node, unless that node is one of the nodes first from center (unless it's the last choice it can take).
It will typically take the least expensive option if it switches routes, but usually always starts from the farthest circle.
This is mostly correct. You get four moves and then it starts eating. It will start with a perk, then move down the chain to its base. It will then devour a second perk if one is available. If not it will find the outermost node and again start working inward. There are a few more basics, but that is the gist of it.
-
There are rules. This video might help you:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3r_a9QqYTYAs for the Entity, I wish it devoured MORE. I'd happily let it eat a second helping every return to get to the next bloodweb faster.

Kids get to murder, Survivors get some GG EZ, and you get paid. I see no problems here.

Yet, when totems where spawning on coldwind in places that survivors couldn’t break them....
An unclickable totem doesn't hold the game hostage. I've personally been in games with that Autohaven bus bug. Survivors can literally stand there all night and if you are not a Deathslinger or Huntress, it's over for you.
-
The problem with this idea, while dynamic, is it would just create another layer of meta has everyone just runs the "best" examples.
"GG Dwight overpowered. 15% gen speed OP!"
-
Why does this matter in a game where you spend 90% of the camera perspective looking at the back of their head?

Because the notification gives away where you are exactly. And since its not a proper hook, your DS does not activate if you have it, and you can be still exhausted if you have exhaustion perks, therefore its a very easy tunnel opportunity for the killer. I've gone against many Pyramids who tunnelled the sh*t out of me like this, because they just felt like doing it. Like, do you not see how abusable this can be?
How is it any different from a REGULAR unhook notification?

People might over-exaggerate it a bit on the forums but it's definitely happening. I've noticed that my queue times as killer are longer & I can bet it's because of survivors leaving due to the hitboxes.
I mean, I am not saying hitboxes are great right now. I've had my share of vaulting a window on my Meg, taking four steps away from the window as I fully clear it, and then going down.
I'm just saying I have not noticed a difference this week.

Did you start off as survivor @Kill_Yr_Idol83 Or was it more of a down the line, secondary? Currently, it's my secondary work I am doing after p3'ing around 4-5? Survivors? But I already got red for killer as, at the time, the only killers I found cool (mostly Ghostie then) - just curious on the decision behind that, a strong solid on survivors when it comes down to SWF - I agree.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1944147#Comment_1944147
Just hide her face and that's a perk in itself. At least I invest in... DEATHGARDEN to hide it. But good idea, just pump it all into Meg until you have things to test, if you get addicted down the line, easy to come back to. Thank you again @EvanSnowWolf

Honestly, no game lasts forever, after I stopped playing League (haha) I started looking for a less competitive more fun game, always thought DBD would be kinda lame, gave it a shot and have loved it so just trying to get general feedback on their experiences. I do believe that a top tier killer will destroy solo queue players. The majority of players, I believe, may have played a long time but off and on and are not the best. Being optimal is hard, SWF makes it easy, even if none of them listen to me when I say to stay away from a basement bubba camping me before we see a 4 man down :p But, it's all at the end of the day, for good fun. Hopefully, you can find the drive again, if not for this game, another. Thank you for your opinion, @Sluzzy
Yup! It helps to keep track. The game doesn't actually do that for you, so I did this:

@ChuckLit said:
Hi devs! Why does Pyramid Head get a visual notification when a survivor is rescued from a cage? They have basically no chance to escape if the killer decides to tunnel hardcore mode. Can you please remove the cage rescue notification, since it can be really unfair to go against?
Why would he NOT get a notification? It's bad enough the cage is already banished 5 miles from me. Why should you get a free and silent unhook on top of that?

You're either the luckiest person alive or just extremely oblivious because they are god awful right now.
I played three games today on Killer and not once did I feel a weird hitbox. I had the same near-misses I always do, and missed several attacks due to Dead Hard.
People on the forums are acting like M1 has become some kind of localized polearm or hand grenade.

yo im back on the forums after like 1-2 years. what I was thinking is maybe add a progression/kill count bar for Bubba's locked faces. like for example, you get 10 kills out of 25 and lost how many kills you got but theres a bar/kill count showcasing how much kills you got.
Oh thank God. I thought this was another thread whining about perceived "blackface".
No, I support this. Randomly trying to figure out when you have it all is silly, unless BHVR really wants every Bubba player to keep track on a notepad next to their mouse.

@katapad That's the whole reason for asking when it comes to play time, I can't fully remember the beginning, but lately bringing people in, they seem to get really agitated (not from hitboxes) but a misunderstanding of how the games works. Wanted to ask the general public how they feel about the game state in a non survivor/killer main sub topic, where it is more... biased. Lucky on your survivor side, I am over here getting my characters to P3 for "better chances" yet, still tossed tier 1 only perks I don't want. :p welcome to dead by daylight - albeit late. Thank you!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1943937#Comment_1943937
@ChiSoxFan11 I really, really agree. It's hard to be unbiased while claiming to be a killer or survivor main prior but, there points aren't completely crazy - if we are being fair - DBD is a crazy grind, while it's also more of a party game than anything. Don't get me wrong, I mean no disrespect. I just mean I tend to take it a lot less seriously, maybe due to time. I now am at places where I am almost too nice to the other side and kinda stay stagnant on ranks, after staying rank 1 on a bunch of builds/killers, I realized anything can really work, it just depends what YOU consider winning, and how much time you have put into it for map knowledge/guessing survivors and vice versa guessing killers. Great points! Thank you for the input.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1943953#Comment_1943953
@ASpazNamedSteve I would say that I agree - it's difficult to really break down that "what is high level play and not" - I can tell when a player is good, either from movements or if they drop a pallet they definitely take a hit from (either way), etc, however, it's hard at time to gauge SWF, Top tier players, lucky ones, addons and tools, etc. I don't know a crazy amount of the game, only a little over a year but I don't even want to talk about how much time I have sunk into this game yet I still am learning and I love that. It's great to take a break as a killer until my group is around but we never try hard like some of the groups we run into. Don't get me wrong though, I have no issue with people who are playing more competitively to rank up. Thank you for your input!
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1943960#Comment_1943960
@EvanSnowWolf I know they have released information in the past but do they consider kill rate a complete 4k or just each kill adds to the % of overall? If it's the latter, it's hard to really decide if those statistics make things seem better or if its more of a "feel better" - the only reason I say that is because while in red ranks as survivor I was able to pip and black pip from doing very - very little. On the other hand, I have found one stupid chase I stick to can cost an entire game as killer. I would say though, ultimately, 2-3 people as a kill would be a win. You aren't meant to survive every game, that, would be silly. You are meant to prolong and escape as many people as possible. Otherwise, nobody would play the killer role.
Meg is great, just make sure to put some point into other teachable to round her out (I am sure you know that already). I do not want to comment on how the developers are rank wise, but, from what I have heard is that most of them, if not all, are rather low rank players. This isn't a negative thing but creating the changes is a bit rough at times and two steps back with one forward. Thank you for the insight!
I don't know. I am mainly basing that statement on this graphic that BHVR released:
As for Meg, I am definitely getting other teachables. I have MOST Survivors I want at 40 with their three perks learned. But they just funnel into Meg so I am not trying to get them on EVERYONE. I just don't have the hours invested for that much blood right now. But yeah, until they make a muscular female character it's gonna be Meg and her abs for me.
-
Billy is considered a very fair Killer. His downs are earned. He has no garbage perks. He is looped fairly. And people consider his map rush downright hilarious. The killer is considered the most "wholesome" Killer in the game at the moment.
In a meta with Nurse, Spirits, Freddy, et al.... people are grateful for a Billy.
-
Considering this gives extra blood for potentially both sides, I don't see what harm giving every match an Obsession could cause.
-
@Erogotic said:
First: Do you believe that the game is survivor sided or killer sided?
Second: What rank are you?
Third: How long have you been playing/hours played approximately?
Fourth: Do you have main characters with the perks that you want in these games at least for the most part?
LASTLY: Are you a killer or survivor main?
P.S. (Share as much or as little as you want, just looking for some responses to this so I am not completely ignorant to different ranks and perspectives. Thank you for reading!)
Happy entity touching.
1.) I believe the developers are Survivor sided because they fear attacking the larger base. I believe the game stats prove that the kill rates say the end results of most matches are Killer sided.
2.) Rank 4 (Red)
3.) About 250 hours
4.) I mostly main Meg just because having to re-perk every character is a blood point black hole.
5.) I play about 80% Survivor / 20% Killer. Most of my Killer matches are daily rituals.

I don't know but I dig the outfit.

Saw the notice that Crotus and Autohaven maps are disabled and can't wait to hear why. Anyone know?
Crotus has a problem with the framework where ranged attacks are going through walls and floors.
The bus on Autohaven has a spot Survivors can hide in that Killers cannot reach.

Apparently, it no longer reads like that because the Deep Wounds is implied automatically in the game term of Endurance.

If they are running that then that’s not afk they are still moving in one way so you can get points. An actual afk killer that I’m talking about is one that just stands there and does nothin no chase no swinging. I have less issues with a swinging killer than an actual afk killer atleast they are trying to give you extra points.
I mean, the dude is still AFK. He is not at all paying attention to the game. That's pretty AFK. It's just AFK with benefits.

Ok so how do you get four stacks against an afk killer when you have to stun while they carry in any way take a protection hit or unhook any of those means the killer did something and wasn’t afk.
You can get stacks from Protection Hits. Many AFK killers run a macro where they auto-attack once every 10 seconds or so. All you have to do is have two players get in a "chase" around him, and when the Killer auto-attacks, take the hit in front of an ally.
Boom. Stack of WGLF.
Repeat until you have 4.

This is better but there is still room for improvement. When the survivor is on the hook, its hard to see the hook timer. Please use another colour other than red to display it, its really hard to see. Same with the Exhaust timer symbol. I prefer the old left to right display of survivors but I have to say I don't think this new look make my eyes strained to the point I can't play the game, but we will see when the patch comes out.
This is a good point. They do seem overly reliant on the color red for damn near everything.
