I said it once and i'll say it again a friday the 13th chapter is a must have for dbd. If we were to add a friday the 13th chapter it will be like
Killer: The Slasher (Jason Voorhees)
Map: Crystal Lake Camp
Survivor: Tommy Jarvis
This has been brought up a hundred times.
Any real Friday the 13th fan knows the license is in legal hell and cannot be acquired right now.

I JUST got out of a match where all 5 of my totems were destroyed in under 3 minutes.
This is WITH Undying.
And you think we need to "look at" Ruin?
-
Not sure if the concept thrills me, but I can deeply respect the amount of effort you put into it. Well done.

People naturally focus on the negative.

We're Gonna Live Forever is the discount off-brand BBQ & Chili for Survivors.

I just thought of something else, the proposed changes will do little to stop the annoyance during EGC. If someone is unhooked after the last gen is finished, a ds will still result in the types of escape that feel the most frustrating as a killer.
True, these situations can still happen. But at least it will cut down on the whole Survivor walking ten feet and getting on a generator like "WHATCHOOGONNADOABOUTIT?!"

Saying period is another way of saying that is my stance. Like, I don't care how many excuses you have for Camping and Tunneling, they aren't always a strat. This has been stated so many times and proven via the fact that people lose those matches, but still got that one kill.
So, if you yourself don't have a problem with dying because someone camped you or one of your teammates got camped, then good for you. I want to play the game and also want my teammates to have a chance without a ridiculous cheesy mechanic being the reason they don't. You know... much like how killers wanted to have a chance without DS 'tactics' getting in the way.
Camping is not a "mechanic". It's just choosing not to walk away to give the enemy team a free rescue.
You sound like those people that scream about how NOED is bad for the game because it "gives killers kills they did not earn".
I see no difference between being the first one hooked with being the first one to take a bullet through the head in PUBG, or the first one to take the baseball bat in Smash Bros, or any other competitive game where you can be taken out in the first minute. It sucks, but that's the game. You are saying that Survivors somehow DESERVE more than one hook state. Games are not always 100% equitable.

How do I send the recording through PSN?
I honestly don't know. You might have to google it, or maybe a more experienced player on this forum can tell you. I'm just repeating what a mod once said that I was paying attention to. In a game where angry people will say all sorts of things out of anger they cannot take a basic claim as evidence of an infraction or we'd lose half the player base.

That is not enough of a downside when you are basically saying that survivor doesn't get to play the game.
My argument isn't why they are doing it, it is that they shouldn't be able to in the first place, at least not without the survivor having more options. Period.
Saying "period" at the end of a statement doesn't give it more value.
"Dying first" is a factor in tons of video games. Sometimes you are just the first one out. SOMEONE has to be first. You are not entitled to an unhook just to get more playtime.

I reported under unsportsmanlike conduct. They were PC players. I’m console. I doubt the devs will do anything about them. Those report buttons are just for show.
The devs absolutely will act on the reports HOWEVER most reports have to get dismissed because you NEED video proof of that infraction in question. If you don't have video of them taking the bannable actions, you have no proof. If you wanna nail those players, you need to record.

Nobody is arguing that it isn't a strategy, but it isn't always used as a strategy. Because sitting by a hook idling in hopes that some less than intelligent survivor comes to the rescuse doesn't equate it as a tactic.
I did pick a lane. It's called playing both sides. Enough to understand how there is absolutely no downside for Camping and Tunneling someone out of the game unless they actually have perks to counter those "tactics".
I see many many people crying about "the meta will never change".... and they are right. It won't. Not unless survivors have more options outside of perks.
The downside is literally losing all the generators you are not patrolling because you are having a staredown contest with Jake while he hook wriggles.
Your argument seems to be coming down to the motivation of the camper, which is also irrelevant. It doesn't matter if the Killer is doing it to be mean, grief, to do a daily, or to AFK while they go pee.

Not every killer plays like Bubba and has the potential to win by camping alone.
The point I am making is that stating something is a tactic, means it will win you the game. A lot of killers aren't playing to win the game, they are playing to make that one player to not even have a chance at playing the game. Because the others were forced to hold M1.
Saying something is a 'tactic' is like saying fixing a gen while your DS was up was being used as a 'tactic'... or is that not what the initial DS complaint was?
Look, you can't have this argument both ways.
Either camping is a legit strategy that can get you kills as a Killer, in which case nothing needs to be done about it...
... or it is a dumb idea that is going to cost him the game, in which case nothing needs to be done about it and camping needs no action taken against it because the Killer is shooting themselves in the foot.
Pick a lane.
-
I want to see the speed loss on Pyramidhead's trails removed. I don't think he should slow down when doing it. It disincentivizes people from making trails if it will drop your speed. If we need to slightly increase the wind up of the shockwave to compensate for this, I'm fine with that.

A tactic would imply that it will win you the game no?
Camping doesn't always win you the game, but in many cases it is used by griefers, not by people who actually want to play the game.
It absolutely can win you the game. I have had many 4Ks on Bubba because the Survivor team came down with a terrible case of Arrogant Altruism and tried to rush the camped hook and got splattered for it. Bubba is in fact the only Killer I camp with because of how insanely effective it is. On any other Killer I get bored and go find someone else to play with.
But with any camper, had they taken the free generators, 3 of them could have won. Which is the correct play.

a killer camping a hook is doing his objective? I think it's lowest level possible of thinking which I never understand but let it be though. I hope not many people are thinking just like you.
After all its a game which should be fun for both parties, or not? Whatever, do your thing, I will do mine
YES, camping a hook is doing an Objective. It is ULTRA LAZY, but he's still getting a kill as a KILLER.
People keep saying this "A game should be fun for everyone" line but the Killer is not there to make the game fun for Survivors. This is a PVP game. He is literally trying to make you lose!
-
Nothing needs to be nerfed about camping because it's a valid strategy and does not require any action to be taken.
In the time it takes for a Survivor to go from full health status to dead as a hook victim the Surviving team can drop the existing generators from 5 to 2, and that's assuming not a single generator was completed beforehand.
The only thing I MIGHT suggest is giving any such victim a black pip. But the tactic itself is fine, and already has a counter in the game. The fact that it makes people mad is irrelevant.

I’m not talking about the ones where the killer has no choice otherwise or the ones where it’s the only strategic decision. But a lot of killers camp/tunnel just because they can and it makes the game easier. This still gets defended by most killers on this forum as being part of the game.
And before anyone says it, no I don’t agree with suiciding on hook. I just don’t like hypocrisy
A Killer that camps a hook but criticizes suicide on hook is not being hypocritical.
A Killer camping a hook is still doing his objective. A Survivor that suicides on hook is actually sabotaging their objective AND the objective for three other people. The two things could not be more different.

I mean the Survivor comes up to me and tries to point out and lead me to other Survivors. It happens all the time.
Oh, I've never had that happen... but if it did I would smack that Survivor into the dirt so hard they'd leave an impact crater.
-
@Moundshroud said:
Ok, this is fair warning so that if you see this happen in a game, and then see my name on the end of it, you will know WHY. I don't like it when Survivors try to work with the Killer. Every now and then someone does this when I am playing. Normally, I immediately down them and hook them. I'm not going to do that anymore.
Instead, I'm going to down them to let them bleed out. I'm not going to hook them. I'm not going to let anyone pick them up. I'm going to let them spend the entire game, until they bleed out, on the ground. This is going to look really asinine without context. I strongly encourage anyone else, who doesn't like dirty cheats working with the Killer, to do likewise. I take my "good sportsmanship" reputation seriously, so I wanted to make this post and provide context for why you might see me do this.
So, if you see something really weird, like a Killer camping a slugged Survivor rather than a Hook, and letting you guys get all the Generators you want, let that loser on the ground lay there and rot. :)
When you say "work with the Killer" what exactly do you mean? You mean Survivors ratting out other Survivors? Or are you anti-farm matches? Are you opposed to Killers letting the last Survivor escape? I require additional context!
-
I do not believe there are crutch perks. I do believe that some people find favorites that they really like so they run them a lot. I absolutely love Spine Chill, but I can still get Survivor Adept achievements that won't let me use it.
To me something is a crutch if you cannot function without it, and I don't think such a thing exists in DBD.

I'm literally not even going to bother replying any more, I've wasted a lot of time on this thread today talking to brick walls who clearly don't grasp the concept of what is trying to be said.
It's ok for killers to cry about perks and get them nerfed on a constant basis and play toxic or however they like, but it's not ok for a survivor to do so. LOL.
Summarises the mentality people are dealing with here.
Everyone in this thread understands you just fine. You just cannot seem to understand how ludicrously entitled you sound when you declare there is a way for Killers to play "properly", implying there is actually a wrong way to be a Killer.
Then you double down on this premise by going on to state that anyone that does not play the way you want must therefore be bad.
-
As a Killer there really aren't any Survivor perks I really hate. Most Survivor perks that annoy me I remind myself exist for valid reasons, like Borrowed Time.
If I had to pick one, I would say Head On - it's almost always used as a troll tactic to run into a locker on purpose and then smack the Killer. It basically turns every locker on the map into a pallet with infinite uses.

I wish somebody told me that perks were permanent. Yes, i was that stupid. I thought that the perks i found in the bloodweb would get lost if I used them, so for about a week or so, I didnt use any perks.
To be fair to you NOTHING else in the bloodweb was/is permanent. So it would stand to reason that a perk was just as much a one-use item as the offerings were.

If you read some of the comments on here you would understand that we understand what spine chill is for, I just think it is a bit weird and it kinda hard counters the stalking killers.
It is supposed to. And I don't mind it, even as a Ghostface player.
It makes more sense than most Aura-Reading perks. What the heck about BBQ and Chili lets you see people through walls 100m away?
-
Why is it so hard for people to understand that Spine Chill exists to thwart stealth killers ON PURPOSE?!
It's a counter. That's what they do. THAT IS LITERALLY THE POINT.
It's like calling for a nerf to bulletproof vests because they stop guns from shooting people in the chest.

I never said killer HAS to worry about survivors fun, but the game should be balanced enough for everyone to enjoy it. If you don't see the issue here then you clearly haven't played enough survivor.
I've always wanted to meet the actual author of the Survivor's Rulebook for Killers.
When you wrote it did you use Comic Sans for the font, or stick to Times New Roman?

Seems It was accurate then
I can't speak for others, but in general when I play a game I tend to play whatever game mechanics cover up the elements of the game that make it unfun for me. After getting tired of being screwed over at pallets time and time again I switched to Huntress and Pyramidhead so a pallet teabagger can get wailed on.

What does “playing the game properly and fairly” mean? You are under the assumption that Killers are required to play the game as you’d like them to play and if they don’t, then they’re bad. Are there rules in the game that dictate how the Killer must play the game?
Yup. Haven't you read it?!
-
It's not about synergy. It's having a backup for the backup.
Which should show you how hard it can be for some Killers to handle a strong red rank SWF group.

The responses here trying to justify their ragequits is saddening.
This is why people say solo queue is so bad. Because people like you don't care about anyone but yourselves. The concept of the team is beyond you. Nah, screw that guy desperately trying to rank up. Depip that idiot cause you don't want to deal with <insert petty reasons here likely rooted in impatience>. Who cares if he wants to rank up? You stopped caring, so neither should he! Yes, apparently responding to an insult on the forums with an insult results in that. But there's no point contesting forum moderation, so there it is.
Still doesn't change the fact I've never DC'd out of a match with any Survivor. If you die, you die.
-
Ghostface is overpowered because he can Expose you and one shot you without you even knowing he is coming.
Myers is overpowered because he can give the entire team Exposed for a full minute and wreck the whole team.
Huntress is overpowered because she can kill people at range.
Deathslinger is overpowered because he can pull Survivors to his location and circumvent the chase mechanic.
Nurse is overpowered because she can blink through solid objects and ignore map setups.
Pyramidhead is overpowered because he ignore hook perks and mori without an offering.
.... wait. It's almost like Killer after Killer after Killer is overpowered in some way. Like... they were chosen to terrorize the Survivors or something. To instill in them a sense of dread and fear and helplessness as they are killed off one by one...

I didn’t get on here and cry after one game. I’ve played for years, like I said, and determined that Leatherface’s chainsaw is overpowered. Disagree if you want, but I posted this because I have made up my mind after years of evaluation. If you don’t like it, then I don’t know why you commented.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery. The next step is to git gud.

Well, with so many people saying it, then there just might be something to it. Also, I am a skilled player who has been playing for years and I’m saying it now. Also, I literally just joined the forum like a few hours ago, so relax. I’m still figuring the platform out.
If you are a skilled player then Leatherface should be no problem for you at all. The chainsaw is easily avoided with a simple window, and Bubba has some of the worst mobility in the game.
There is a faction of Survivor players that just simply cannot handle one-shot mechanics. They are mad about the iridescent Head on Huntress. They are mad about Leatherface's chainsaw. They are mad about No One Escapes Death.
One-shots are part of the game. I got one-shot earlier by a Myers that I had evaded the ENTIRE game, but I happened to turn the wrong corner in Mother's Dwelling and ate his Tier 3 insta-mori move. I didn't cry about it.
-
I am on PC and I am really not a fan of performing a hate crime on my Spacebar, either.
This system is not exciting. And the reason it is not exciting is because there is no positive outcome for you. There is no chance that if you wail on the button hard enough you can escape. You are just dying SLOWER. So it just comes off as a tedious chore you are required to do to avoid dying instantly.
-
@CajunStirfry said:
Leather face should not be able to chainsaw through multiple people at a time. He also shouldn’t be able to use that ability for so long. Hillbilly has a fixed amount of time that is far more reasonable. Thoughts?
My thoughts are the second you realize the Killer in your match is Leatherface you should stop hanging out with other Survivors and split up and then this never becomes a problem.
Also, don't bomb the hook without a plan, and/or in his face.

I'm gonna camp just so I can see more than one survivor per match.

almost everytime noed gets popped, we had a killer that camped the whole game did nothing and still wins 1 or 2 and sometimes all the undeserved kills because of that perk and nowadays totems are very well hidden.
It is only "undeserved" because you have arbitrarily decided that it is. The ability to down a Healthy survivor with an M1 attack is no different than any other Exposed effect in the game.
-
@wertykelpie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922921#Comment_1922921
take an example, survivors to get a free hit have to get 3 protection points with MoM, we have to give something back to receive another, there is effort on activating the perk, Noed there is no effort is just there to reward the bad killer.
1.) You cannot compare a Survivor perk to a Killer perk because Killer perks need to four times more powerful due to the fact that Killers get 4 perks and the Survivor team gets a whopping 16 perks.
2.) There is still effort on the Killer. You just have to chase the Survivor down and hit them, and it only works on their Basic Attacks.
3.) It doesn't reward "bad killers". A killer is not bad because you got all 5 gens done. Some strategies and builds EXPECT that to happen and plan accordingly.

That isn't a Leatherface issue, though. Dead zones benefit pretty much every Killer except ones that want walls, like Ghostface.
