Love Kindred, but technically it does lose value the more Survivors run it. All 4 having it is redundant and a waste, like Prove Thyself or Circle of Healing. Also if you're an experienced player, you can often deduce the info Kindred would give you just by intuition.

As @EntitySpawn said, it's more-so a perk to encourage bad players to be more efficient. Which is why I think it should become base-kit.

I dont want it base, dont get me wrong itd definitely make me stronger and have easier games but that's not my biggest concern in solo Q.

My biggest issues are DCs, ragequits, people farming tome challenges throwing games or matchmaking sticking me with a bunch of people scared on gens and all those are separate issues to work on and would improve my solo Q experience WAYYYY more than kindred base.

15survivor games today, 6DCs on my team on their first/second down. It's a joke was winning most games too

  • What's wrong with solo Q if you ignore DCs, rage quits, bad teammates (dont do gens or cant loop) and more people farming tome challenges?

I honestly cant think of an issue besides those and none of those are solo Q issue but other game issues that need to be addressed separately imo

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

I agree. This has been happening since he came out. It's so annoying.

I haven't seen it that long, he did have issues at one point which got fixed but this issue has definitely been in the game so many months now and not even the first time iv submitted this report either

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

If there was a reliable way to tell if someone presses the "leave match" button or if they DC otherwise, I would say: let's at least test it. They should have the DC penalty either way but adding a karma based tag similar to those who teamkill in GMod's TTT (there these are: "reputable"=best rating, then "crude", "trigger-happy" etc) would be a start.

Well anything is a start, I honestly dont think the DCs bans are enough anymore especially when people realise they can DC once a day with not much impact as it gets knocked back daily

  • I bleed out maybe 1 in 1000 games

I get a DC maybe 1 in 50 games (god that's massively generous considering I have had 3 in 5 games)

While I agree being slugged to bleed out is annoying and pointless at least it's not massively common nor massively ruining how the game played

  • @Mooks said:

And no they arent just "busy" or need to "pee". Stop making excuses for the majority of DCs especially when the same users do it multiple times.

But reallife stuff can still happen. Who decides how often is too often? Also internet connection issues outside of the control of the player.

stop punishing those that already suffer from stuff like this just because the majority abuses DCs

I'm not saying do it after one DC, but people that do DC often do it frequently and like many times a week.

And being busy or bad wifi wouldn't trigger it if you're smart. if you're constantly busy and dont have time to play games dont load it up... and if you're having wifi issues dont keep going into games knowing that.

If you know you're gonna be busy for multiple matches or lose connection for multiple matches you should hold off till you have time or fix your issues. You are aware of it and you dont get a free pass you're still actively ruining multiple games if you proceed.

Did you even read my post? This nerf will only affect the perk in the "niche" (camping has been prominent ever since basekit reduced cooldown buff) situation that I'm complaining about. Outside of a camping situation, the perk will act exactly the same as it currently does.

Yes I did and I dont agree. What If a survivor is near a hook mid game does it just take away stacks for no reason? Seems abusable to me...

Perks fine as it is, you can still trade and if the obsession takes the hit first it's easier and if the obsession is hooked they likely dont have max stacks unless the obsession isn't very good.

Theres also perks which can help you unhook faster, but people dont want to use perks to counter things they struggle with when that's mainly the whole point of perks

  • Why should we nerf a perk just because of one niche situation which is still counterable?

Yes it makes end game saves a little harder, but seriously the killers using a perk for it...

  • Nope solo survivor main actually.

I just prefer using other perks and for the most part I get good teams and dont need it. Besides in solo Q everyone wants altruism so I dont really have to

  • I'd say it depends on everyone's level of play, not saying it's a bad perk its actually a great perk but if all 4 are high level it's not needed

    Pros of kindred:

    • Can see if the killers camping
    • Can see who the killer is if you dont know already
    • Can see the direction the killers going in
    • Can see if you need to go for the save
    • Gives surveillance in the area if the killer sets up traps
    • Allows you to remain hidden easier if you're already close
    • Let's you see which pallets are being used/dropped while someone is on hook

Why high lvl players wont run it

    • It's a perk slot, I know but you have to understand there are lots of great perks and at the highest level is this one better than all the rest? Not really
    • We know the time it take to get to the hook, we can sit on gens most of the hook state and only save when needing to.
    • Having kindred doesn't mean people will do gens or stop multiple people coming for you, this is very annoying to see when you use the perk .
    • Perks like windows can give the same info on which pallets are gone/been used but permanently so it counters that benefit.
    • Higher level players tend to be more aware of what their team is doing and where they/the killer is located.
    • Dont need to know who the killer is which counters the one benefit, high level players aren't really afraid of most killers because of how weak they can be and most high level players will have a pallet, window or route planned for when a killer comes to chase. Also stronger killers like nurse have huge audio tells.

It's a great perk, but if I'm being honest the only reason I'd use it is to try encourage players I think are bad to be more efficient on gen/saves and not any actual personal benefit. Good perk though, definitely not a bad perk to run in any game unless you're on comms

  • A 3 gen does nothing if you're good survivors, base regression is 4x slower and even maxing regression perks survivors are still faster so the killer loses the battle in the end.

And removing gen auras will just make alot more players camp and tunnel because they dont know the location of where people will be.

Solo Q is fine, you dont need to nerf killers all we need is better matchmaking and less entitled players quitting and giving up... there are people who give up verse legion... LEGION..

  • So what about swf nerfs? Been many swfs going on huge win streaks but swf hasnt been touched?

You cant go off singular players, though I'd love to verse a no gen defense nurse sounds fun because everyone I see has to use it or they lose due to efficiency.

Unless we're talking about the strongest killer played at her best verse bad survivors? Because then yes the nurse should always win

  • @Laluzi said:

I thought they did? On the current tome, I had two separate instances where a DC counted as a sacrifice, and one of those DCs wasn't even a downed/hooked player or anything.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3240350#Comment_3240350

To my knowledge, games with a DC still do count for MMR, but at a much reduced rate - survivors lose less and killers gain less.

I'm not sure, iv asked devs multiple times and I always get the same response as "DCs are void" "that game treats it as a 1v1v1v1v1" which dont really answer the question lol.

I just wanna know do I lose alot of mmr for an unwinable game due to a 3v1 and are games with a DC counted in stats, I get the DC isnt counted but what about the other 3?

I wouldn't assume anything, I'd like to think you're right but I dont hold my breath

  • But a DC guarantees a easy 3k unless you mean people DCing before death which case yeah its annoying, same as get Xhooks in a match and they suicide on them taking the challenge away.

Though I'd rather games with a DC just be made void period. While the person DCing is void for stats etc. The rest of the game isnt, so survivors still lose mmr and killer gain easy mmr and higher kill rates

  • @Shartley said:

Literally everyone uses it. Free hit once you get off the hook for 90 seconds (LOL that's at least what, 4 gens in today's games?), seems fair. Petition to change name to "Off The Hook" because its more aptly named and would at least make me lol, as opposed to its current state which just makes me cringe. Where do I install the game that everyone else is playing where killers are supposedly OP and roflstomping noobs? Is it the PUBG crossover? that game looks dope yo, the Fortnite dances are bussin fr fr no cap

You came to discuss a survivor nerf on the forums, wrong place buddy.

This is the same forum where old DH was barely used and could just be baited out...

OTR is an insanely good perk, anyone not using it tends to be an easy target for the killer if the killer is close to the unhook and you cant blame them.

One of the strongest perks to help with tunneling especially if you can loop, its basically adrenaline on every hook if the killer goes to tunnel how is that not good lol

But what if the Entity takes one of the nodes on the way? Or what if there are multiple paths available?

That's not to say I wouldn't be in favour of a click-and-done bloodweb purchase, I'm just curious.

Well usually you can reach an end node before the entity kicks in but the others could simply process your path first then take X amount of nodes away to match the amount brought

    I'll do you one better.

Add a slightly more expensive option to just auto-level the blood web.

Shouldn't it be cheaper if we dont get the choice of how it goes though? While iv thought about auto webs knowing my luck it would avoid all the good stuff leaving me with the meme or pointless stuff lol

  • @Akumakaji said:

I am at the forefront of the people advocating to remove depipping unless you DCed. It's was said time and time again, even by BHVR themselves, that grades nowadays serf no other purpose besides your own satisfaction and as a measure of how much you played since the last grade reset, and that it isn't any representation of skill, yet we all know the awful feeling when you slowly inch yourself towards the next grade, only to be hit with a couple of bad games in a row and go back to zero.

Heck, the killer might just decide to tunnel you, or most frustrating, you might face an afk killer that doesn't hit the air in front of them. Apparently there are some Arcane techniques to barely scrounge up enough boldness points by loitering around the killer, so that you get a safety pip, but that just shouldn't be a thing: depipping because the killer is afk.

So every month I now do this: I play normally till I reach high silver or gold ranks, then smurf my account hard by not killing any survivor's and when my MMR hits rock bottom, I shift gears and stomp baby survivor's way too hard for my own good while farming them for 12 hooks whenever possible. I blaze through the ranks and just shut off my bad conscious for ruining so many newbies games, but I just can't stand the dumb depipping anymore.

This way around this time of the months I reach Iri1 and can finally relax and fool around and meme with cute survivors without the fear of paying the price for that next game via depipping. Its a dog ear dog world and I would just prefer to just play like that all month long, but the depipping forces me to play as tough as I can till I reach Iri1.

I have had this situation often enough: I sat at 4 pips, the last survivor was really cute and begged for mercy and then I was one sacrifice too short to pip up. The next three games were against seal teams and send me basically back to start.

Yeah but the thing is if people get to iri 1 fast will they as you say "meme" and hinder other people's games.

The pips drive alot of players to try do better in games so they can gain a pip, making pips even easier will just increase the amount of people nor caring about the outcome.

It's a catch 22, one hand they serve no real use and we all want those bonus BP yet on the other hand I dont want people not caring/trying to get pips as itll impact how people play and I dont want more players giving up because they're already iri 1 and the game isnt going how they wanted

  • I'll raise you one.

How about if we click on the final outer node in a bloodweb it automatically claims the path to get there.

(This could be done anywhere on the bloodweb obviously, see that purple addon you want? Click it once and it claims everything on the way there in 1 simple click)

  • I'm iri 3 survivor, though I haven't played as much as usual because of the DC penalties turned off and then playing some killer because my survivor matches seem so badly matched.

I never struggle pipping though, usually the games I dont pip in are games over so fast I didnt do anything or games where everyone just gave up.

Pips dont mean alot though, if you want to aim for them though just look at the emblems endgame and itll show which areas you need to improve on and how to get them up.

Usually most people struggle with the chase/survival emblems from what I see, and you get better at chases just by practice (the emblem says stuns, but honestly dont try to get stuns as itll do more harm than good)

  • @Krazzik said:

It's always weird when survivors use OTR and basekit BT offensively to bodyblock and then complain when you end up tunneling them.

The same people groups who sabo or abuse Boil Over and then complain you end up slugging.

Yeah I know, it's like taunting a bear expecting it not to bite. But if they never learn that's on them, they lost the opportunity to have a more chill game where I wouldn't of tunneled them

Their first mistake is thinking that you "needing to camp and tunnel to win" is your fault. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. People want to punish/remove killer strats/perks that reward going for multiple survivors, multiple chases, multiple hooks, and pressuring gens? Now they get to sleep in the bed they made.

Yeah but they never learn, I'm actually pretty chill as killer in terms of how I play, wont usually camp or tunnel but i wont just give free saves if people are rushing gens and I certainly wont play nice if people are trying to remove my power (like with flashlights etc.) Funny thing is if they played normally without trying to hinder my ability they could of won

I believe it but for some reason the level of entitlement and lack of self awareness still continues to surprise me. If you're a 'trash killer' but still won why don't people like that realize what they're saying about their skill as a survivor? Especially since you were using an outdated Killer that's weaker than the median Killer.

I dont get it either it's why I always question and reply because I'm trying to understand what on earth they are thinking.

Do yourself a favor and go to the BHVR website.

DbD might be what BHVR is known for but it's only a very small part of the company

Most of their work is partnership with other games

Telling BHVR to only focus on DbD is like telling your local baker to only focus on croissants

It's like no one can read...

I'll put it in caps might help you see better

I KNOW BHVR WORK ON OTHER GAMES AND HAVE MADE OTHER GAMES.

I just dont want another death garden situation where it's a complete flop. So yeah I'd rather them use most of their company on DBD and only work on smaller projects on the side... or grow bigger so they can handle big demanding developments along side DBD.

Do yourself a favour and read before you jump on the bandwagon of trying to say I dont know they work on other games jeez

Theyve been one of the largest gaming studios in Canada before DbD was a thing lol

As for your other question, theyve made many other games over the years, DbD is just what theyre most known for since its their only live service game (atm anyway) There is not a single big studio out there that devote all their resources on a single project, and if they do theyre making a desperate attempt to try to climb back up and are clearly on the decline

Its not me kissing their ass, its just having basic knowledge on this kind of stuff which takes less than 2 minutes of thinking to figure out

Okay... but I'm not just on about one small part of the world, if that was the case many places have the top developers etc.

And once AGAIN, I know they have made other games iv played them.

But you didn't answer any of the questions and then say I dont have any knowledge and try to insult me saying it takes 2mins to think.

Just because I say they shouldn't focus on other potential big games doesnt mean they solely have to work on DBD. It's just smart to use the majority of your company on the game which actively grew them, no need for another death garden...

The definition of "facts" is not "my personal biases based on lack of understanding" Not sure where you're getting that from.

You mean saying a company should focus on their own game, their biggest one which actually grew their company to what it is?

Did we just forget all the other non arcade game they tried to do along side DBD, another asymmetrical which had such a short life...

BHVR have had good games like naughty bear and even DBD but what actual game has been a success along side producing DBD? And they dont work all week so yes that's also a fact.

  • You mean a system which you could do 5 gens, 20min chase but die on 1st hook and still think you're bad isnt a great system?

    Call me flabbergasted

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3237651#Comment_3237651

BHVR promote work/life balance massively, which is part of the reason why it's constantly voted as one of the best companies to work for.

Game Studios are generally working office hours which are Monday - Friday, and we make many games, not just Dead by Daylight, and have done for many years, hence this is the 30th year of the Company!

I'm fully aware you make other games, iv played them. But DBD is your big main game and honestly what made your company big, not saying naughty bear etc. Wasnt good but its DBD which grew.

And you dont need the same people to work all week, you split it into shifts so people arent burnt out but your game has constant observation.

Nothing sucks more than having to wait a whole weekend for huge bugs to be addressed or even removed. Sure it's not that common but over the years it happens

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3237651#Comment_3237651

BHVR was already a game development company and publisher before DbD and it would be stupid to set everything on just one game. It’s also unlikely they would actually take away resources from the DbD Team without filling them again when it currently (probably) is their golden goose

Yes I know, i played games like naughty bear but my point still stands.

DBD is an active game, the others arent and some even mega flopped and could barely last.

When their biggest game cant have a teams to rotate the week it's not good.

    @IlliterateGenocide said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3237651#Comment_3237651

I don't think BHVR has ever worked on just one game at a time

Yeah last big game they tried to push with DBD failed rather fast, I cant even think of the name it latest so little it was another 4v1. Point being is they should focus on one game.

Just stating facts I dunno what to say

  • BHVR should focus on their own game, they struggle enough with that as it is and dont even have a team working 7days a week...

  • Did you know you can still win hook trading... you have 8 hook stages to go through before anyone dies that's plenty of time to finish all gens.

Plus you have perks that can make survivors stay on hook longer so if it's that common try one of these and the above trading tactic.

Cant expect to win if you're all just running in circles near the hooked player or watching them camp someone... and its really annoying being the camped player watching your team throw and do nothing, talk about making their death in vain

  • Yeah seeing how much mmr I lose because my team all gave up or never touched a gen would really make me like the system even more...

I'd rather a better SBMM, but with devs that say stuff like "even if you did a 20min chase was it really skillful if you died" I dont see that happening.

(Obviously that's not an exact quote but its basically what he said so you get the idea)

  • @Ryuhi said:

I wonder if there's any possibility that challenges affect kill rates?

Nah, plague is second best killer at high mmr 100% no doubt

  • Turn your camera so the actual wiggle helps you walk in that direction it helps alot, you're basically walking sideways and it helps a bunch.

I hate those survivors that dont have boil over but are making it impossible to walk as if they have boil over on steroids, no idea what causes it and it's rare but that's annoying whatever it is

  • Depends on you really, if you're questioning it then its probably your thing and you may enjoy it.

From my experience you either enjoy it and have a laugh or just cringe and hate it all like me, I dont do weird anime things but each to their own obviously

That is why i stopped playing a little over a year ago, MMR shouldn't be in this game and it doesn't really make sense either.

I dont mind mmr too much if it worked and was actually based on skill, atm though it's just not and having this issue happen to me has just made the experience miserable

  • @Marik1987 said:

SBMMR is bad designed and we all know that. Everything is about Kills and Escapes, nothing else and this is a terrible design. It should work out for how many gens u do in a game / how long do u keep a chase in play without going down / how many safe unhooks u do etc. on the survivorside and how many Downs and/or Hooks u get (Pallet-Saves = a point for down, Hook = 3 points for the Hook or something like that) on killer side.

Out of this, you get a Rate, lets say 1.000 and this is your MMR. It changes every game and u are in a Section. For example: 0-500 MMR = Low-Level, 501-1.500 = Mid-Level, above = High-MMR.

You could do it with 5 levels, Very Low, Low, Mid, High and Top for example to separate.

Just related on Kills and Escapes is absolutely wrong, but hey, the Lead Game Designer actually thinks DBD is like Hockey, so what can u expect? ;-)

It's more the fact iv gone from versing known good comp players and even streamers who 4k most games and now it's the complete opposite where the killer is bad and the survivors arent doing anything.

Like I completely agree it's an awful system but all this because I joined 1 game of very low mmr and now I'm stuck

So why did one game mess up the whole system...

I'm not being funny but I'm versing killers who cant even follow scratch Mark's, like I can run straight through killer shack as the killer searches all the lockers... they dont even know how to moon walk.

I'm WAY above that level. I'm at the level where I didnt even care about spirit needing a nerf or half the nerfs you have done.

That one game took me from the top straight to the bottom, this isnt a skill issue this is a SBMM issue...

Bad killers also have trouble finding survivors. And the thing is that being bad in chases is the important thing, because thats where killers got buffed the most. Meaning, if a survivor and a killer are at the same level, the killer will always win the chase. The only way the survivor can win, is by being better than the killer, and then this has still to be true for the rest of the team.

That's no actually true, most killers cant do anything at alot of loops because of how safe and non mindgameable they are.

Things like jungle gym V1, V2, i walls, shack etc. Are basic loops that are very safe even basic loops that are generic on most maps have no mindgame unless the killer has bloodlust and the pallets down. This isnt including main building that often have strong windows or other maps that are complete god pallets when dropped

So no I completely disagree when saying the survivor only wins when they're better when you have such loops.

And once again survivors are bad in chase and objective and killers are bad in chase

  • @sulaiman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3232693#Comment_3232693

Of course they should, because bad survivors should be matched with bad killers, and one side has to win. The question is, in an all-bad-players match, should the bad killer always win?

Difference is bad killers are just bad in chase, if survivors was just bad in chase then thatd be acceptable but it's the fact they barely touch generators and in that chase yes they should lose.

The bad killer is pushing his objective no matter what while alot of bad survivors arent, they're scared of terror radius and barely do their objective and that's why. Fun fact is if those bad survivors spent less time hiding or self caring (which they do) and spend that time on gens they would win WAY more

There are a lot of people on the forums who consistently say Sadako is literally the worst killer in the game. I think that’s what the person you replied to is talking about being “surprising”, that Sadako is average to above average on the 5% MMR chart kind of throws a wrench on those tier lists that have her at the bottom.

I dont think shes the worst, unlike alot of people I dont follow content creator opinions I have my own. Like everyone loves to talk about that one sadako main who won in a comp with a 4k yet ignore the fact when that same sadako went against a good comp team (like actual top player comp) they lost every game never achieving a 2k.

I just dont like people using one thing to support their argument while ignoring other points as it dont suit them. Like just because the stats says shes top 6 doesnt mean shes in a perfect spot, admittedly I dont think she needs lots of changes but she still needs them and it's why I hate stats because every picks and chooses then makes up narratives why that's the case when in reality we dont know...

That's literally exactly what you're doing. Completely disregarding stats because they don't suit you. I mean you've never hid how overwhelmingly "Killer Main" you are so obviously a lot of people are gonna roll their eyes at this take.

I don't have much of an opinion otherwise. The stats sound about right from what I've been seeing. More people might need to accept they're not as good as they think they are.

Wrong and wrong. I dont use stats at all to justify anything because I understand the variables in them unlike most people.

I'm also a survivor main, but once again you're just assuming because it suits your narrative. BUT WHAT A SURVIVOR MAIN WANTING KILLERS BUFFED? yeah... I'd like to see the weaker killers more often but fact is they dont stand much of a chance despite what the "data" shows. I like versing all killers (except trapper, and hag at a push). But so many killers are so rare to see for me and if I do see them with a team of my skill they dont do well at all, it's why if I do see them I usually have a weak team as well (barely on gens or able to loop).

"Therefore she's better than Nurse!" is what people are trying to gather from that.

People will use the stats to twist whatever narrative they want and it's why I'm against BHVT sharing stats like this now. I can only hear X killer needs a nerf or something like slinger wasnt nerfed enough. The easier the game is made for survivor the worse it gets for good survivors, like sure if I was someone who enjoyed "bullying" killers as they say I'd like easy games but I'm not. I like the challenge, I like having to think and outplay the killer for as long as possible knowing I'm not meant to 1v1 but just buy my team time...

Sadly half the community wants easy brain dead games so bad and inefficient players can still win far more than they lose.

According to the data she is fine.

Sarcastic i know. But let me ask you a real question then.

Do you think the game should be balanced around top level players, or the average player?

Top. Doesnt have to be the very top but still high.

If people arent doing gens, mess about and cant do great chases why should they win?

Issue is we usually balance for casual survivors not casual killers, any slight change made to help casual killers gets instantly shut down by the majority. It's why weak killers are left weak, killers like billy, slinger, freddy, wraith... did they need to be nerfed so much? No.

    No one is saying this.

I'm sorry you can't have a reasonable discussion about stats.

Sorry you can use stats to say sadako is good but plague isnt one of the best even though the stats show it like your point.

Picking and choosing like I said.

You got upset that my first post in your topic was pointing out that the stats do show something such as Sadako is doing well in high mmr. Top 6 kill rate in high mmr is performing well.

I'm sorry you have some hatred for stats and refuse to accept any kind of reasonable interpretation of them.

Plague second strongest heck yeah! Go stats!
