  • All they did was fix the incentive and they messed up the menu optimization lol

on xbox series x. yes i'm getting the exact same thing, hanging on "initialization complete" then taking like 30 seconds to load into survivor or killer screens

Yeah kinda stupid, I can load bigger and more complex games faster, think DBD is the slowest I own

It’s good to hear. I was ignorant about the differences between internet speed, stability and packet loss. I was just so comfortable having fiber for a few years, I just got spoiled.

Hopefully my connection is great and I wouldn’t need to worry.

As a thanks to you and everyone who replied, here is a picture of Rambo getting ready to suffocate his sister, Froggy:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PYGV427EHBV0/906e9e35-a2e6-4907-85cd-ba133710314c.jpeg

As long as its stable and not actually dropping connection you should be fine, it may impact more if you connect to servers you shouldn't via VPN or swf with a host outside of your respective servers though.

But like I said in my first comment iv played on all packages and its usually always the same outcome. I use to think my 25mbs was the cause of bad hits and latency etc. But when I got 800mbs and it still happened i soon realized it wasn't on me.

The system you use has more impact on the game than your download speed so and xbox one will run much worse than the series X for example.

All you can do is try it for awhile and see how it goes, either way happy gaming!

So you mean they do it because they were dying on hook and no one was coming to save them? That’s a lot different than the scenario painted by your original comment.

No. I just mean they got hooked and they didnt like the idea they may lose so they DC.

    @Audiophile said:

This is mostly a result of survivor fatigue with an oppressive game balance and being fed up with seeing the same crap over and over.

Tunnelled again, Wesker again, Anti-gen Legion again, Franklins/Hoarder Pinhead again, Ridiculous Blight hits again, Huntress aiming at hook again, 2 minute run and no gens done again, running into a closet instead of vaulting again, hit by silent zombie around a corner again, Camping bubba again… the list is almost endless.

I think many survivors have hit a limit and they’re not willing to suffer more BS… they just check out. The game has become so unfun for the most part that these are mostly survivors who are playing because they still love the game but they can’t take the excessive BS, so they limit the suffering by checking out when they hit the limit rather than quit the game altogether.

e.g lets say in the past i loved the game when it was 90% fun and 10% BS. Let’s say my theoretical limit to make me quit playing a game altogether is 40% BS. The game is currently at 50% BS. So I’m almost always near my limit for what I’ll tolerate while I’m playing… I take as much fun as I can from a given match and then when it crosses a threshold, I leave. I think that’s going on….

Just dont play the game if you hate 90% of the things in it... only thing bad in this game is people giving up and quitting... I'm not gonna be entitled and give up because I ran into a zombie round the corner or spammed my RB to vault a window when I'm closer to the locker and blame the game lol. DBD doesnt sound like your game if those are reasons to give up....

“Still a few kinks on both sides but 6.1.0 didn’t make anything…start happening”

Sorry but I couldn’t disagree more. They wrecked the fng game. Here’s the highlights:

Weakened key survivor perks (Iron Will, DS, Self Care). The supposed balance of weakened killer anti-gen perks had zero effect since they use other anti-gen perks.

    Strengthened killer in chase

    Strengthened Camping/Tunnelling

Reduced the survivor pool of good survivors

Introduced yet another high mobility killer

So… matchmaking is worse (hard to believe), killers are stronger, survivors are weaker. People complaining on these forums about solo queue aren’t making it up. It’s awful.

If you relied so heavy on selfcare and iron will you have much to learn, and while I agree DS was over done and I dont use it anymore we got off the record which is basically a replacement which gives iron will and a bunch of other effects all in one.

Killer got hit much harder than survivor, so many perks got gutted and even with the upcoming mori changes killers are yet again losing perk features.

The worst thing in this game is survivor entitlement and it sucks, times its embarrassing to day I'm a survivor main because of what alot of survivors act like

  • 18mbs will do fine, you dont really need a huge amount of download speed to play online games as long as you have a stable connection.

Iv played on packages between 25-800mb and I couldn't tell you the difference as both ran fine and both could have issues (because it's not always a you problem)

  • @Ghoste said:

Stop being sore winners as well. Every time I lose, the other side insists on pouring salt in the wound. Makes me not want to play tbh. Whatever happened to good sportsmanship?

Yeah that also exists and I'm not a fan, I dont even bm in the slightest on either side and if my teammate was toxic and hes hooked endgame that's a shame for them lol.

It's just another stupid factor people seem to do in DBD

  • @Ayodam said:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a survivor DC or give up on hook when the survivors are winning. It makes no sense why they would. If it happens, maybe they have to quit/leave because something is happening offline.

Well they're people who dont care if the team wins and only care if "they" win

  • Yeah it use to on xbox one but on nex gen theres next to no loading, like some times loading a match takes 2seconds.

It's just weird that these 2 things now have a slower load time for no reason recently

  • @Laluzi said:

Mine's been slow lately, but I was chalking that up to an aging computer. I do notice there's a significant delay between initializing and loading in, though.

I cant imagine that's why, like nothing else is slow, can find a match and load into the game pretty much instantly but loading into a lobby or the initializing part seems to take longer even if it's only 10 odd seconds. I assume it's that little patch they did for the incentives

  • @Marigoria said:

I've had it stuck on "initialization completed", solved it by restarting steam.

As for it being slow usually if I restart it goes back to normal too.

I'm on console and a reset isnt fixing it, I mean it loads just not instant like it use to be

    @Steel_Eyed said:

    Update your GPU drivers.

On console next gen and has been instant until the last week odd so it's not that

  • The ability to do a gen solo in 40seconds? Sure you need a build for it but that's still insane.

Anything that speeds gens is strong, and if you can hit greats constantly this is a good perk as it will give you more and a bonus. Stake out is just a bonus (no extra skill checks)

  • Well...

    1. SBMM is garbage and whoever thought escapes shows skill has no brain, sorry dev but its obvious.

    2. SBMM dont even always work, I escape loads and randomly I can get a team of potatoes that cant do basic things like skillchecks or looking behind them/understanding terror radius

    3. You can swf to boost your escapes and mmr so games become more playable.

    4. Stop risking it so much, while I try the same to help everyone since SBMM I know I have to decide if they are even worth living (sorry but some people dont deserve a sacrifice)

But this is what happens with a SBMM that isnt based of skill.

  • @vladspellbinder said:

I've been playing a lot more Survivor than I normally do as of late, trying to work on Survivor challenges from the Archives. Being a Killer Main I normally only play one Survivor game a night but the past few days I've been queueing more and more just to try and get these things done and I just don't understand how anyone can stand this [excrement] enough to play it as their main mode for this game.

Camping Killers. Tunneling Killers. The same builds on the same Killers over and over again or even just playing against the same Killers time and time again (looking at you Mastermind). Solo Queue teammates standing in corners while healthy doing nothing or hiding in lockers when the Killer isn't around or about to hook someone. People not committing to gens or unhooks or heals giving the Killer free downs and pressure.

I just. How do you deal with it? How do you ever have any fun?

It's the exact same as killer, you see the same builds (even after the "meta" change).

I just find survivor more fun more often, it's more chill and less stress. As a survivor it's a 4v1 so I'm not the only one doing stuff, sure I can have bad games with the worst teammates but I can put that down to a bad team unlike killer where you can get BS maps, RNG and a swf rushing gens asap.

I also dont feel as forced to use a set build to have fun with, the only time I got bored of survivor is before they tweaked SBMM and I only seen nurse and blight, but now I see more than 2 killers so it's good

  • If they crouched round the map not doing anything I'm out.

If I go second stage but we still pushed alot of gens then I'm staying.

I'm a team player, I dont play just for my escape I play for everyones and so I'll do whatever I can to help as many people escape as possible.

Just because something doesnt go my way or the killer has a good start doesnt mean I'll give up. I only give up if no one is on a gen and they arent saving either (like just think how stupid it is no one is doing the only objective, drives me crazy it even exists)

  • Not all cheaters are good or even obvious.

Alot hide it the best they can with a small % increases, some only show it if they're losing (I had a bad cheater about to die on hook and he just escapes the whole trial while I'm carrying him at 4gens)

I'm sure there are cheater who have just cheated to unlock everything and not cheat ingame but still

  • Cant really comment on playing as him, on his release I just played survivor and even still I'm more a survivor main and if I play killer it's just random and I haven't really picked him

Versing him though is fine, have no issues with anything he can do (power or addons). Fun killer overall

  • I never get the point of these posts, it just come across as weird.

I feel bad for killers, I run a high skilled swf using strong items, second chance perks and survivor sided map offerings I'm sorry.

  • I versed this the other day as a solo, she got 1 kill and it was at the very end and that was all on Jeff for staying in the trial after the gates was open and we had left.

I honestly dont see an issue with it balance wise, as long as you clock what shes doing its pretty easy to deal with and has alot you can do.

This strat only really works out if survivors are completely oblivious to what's going on and their condemned or the killer is far higher skill than the survivors and getting lots of easy hits (in which case she could play normally and win).

I just find it boring as they don't really chase, so it's just sit on gen and hold W while she teleports a bunch.. not very interactive but not very strong either

  • Yes, the old system was better till they changed it. Once they made the reset only move one bracket that's when it started causing big issues.

Sure towards the end of the month it was more watered down but good players quickly climbed to iri 1.

The best thing about the system is YOU WAS REWARDED FOR YOUR SKILL, now its escape or you did bad in the system eyes...

Old system just needed tweaks, it actually tracked what happened in games and judge you on it

  • Big issue is to have a decent stealth build it requires multiple perks and usually a full build and it's just not feasible if you go against good survivors as you lose just purely down to gen speed resulting in tunneling and camping just to try get a draw...

When I dont need to run gen defense I'd live to run more builds, I always want to do difficult skillcheck builds but I cant warrant the use of 4perks for a meme build I'll get destroyed with and have 0 fun

Don't you dare remove prestige it let's me know nit to chase that p30 nea first because she's probably got skillz.

Prestige mean nothing, iv seen many P60+ go down mega fast I wouldn't really worry too much on prestige (although I'd still like it hidden from all players, I hate I get lobby dodged because I'm playing a character who isnt a high prestige even though I'd probably play better than them and have everyone else really high as well as my killers lol)

  • Killers should see SWF. The ability to know who's a swf can massively change how you play the match, killer may play more chill verse solos as they dont feel as threatened and if a killer sees swf he may use different perks/addons and understand the survivors can be making callouts so they can adjust if they're playing trapper, stealth killer etc.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Yes, 0 idea why this was actually removed.

I mean, you can see the Killers Connection ingame now - and at this point it is too late. It should be shown in the Pregame Lobby.

And when it comes to the own connection, this should be shown as well. Yesterday I ended up in a Lobby where everyone (probably the Killer as well), had quite a high Ping. All Players from Germany (according to their profile), and probably on some american Server. No chance to see this beforehand.

I have a feeling they have hidden it for some alternative reason like they have allowed you to end up on other servers more commonly.

Never use to see so many people with connection issues/ping to the servers but now it seems every game at least 1 survivor is yellow/red connection.

I dont personally dont care about yellow, I can make do but red... that's a different situation

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/348376/everything-wrong-about-the-mori-ptb-before-its-even-out-and-yes-theres-alot-of-issues

First of all: I appreciate how much work (thinking and writing) you put into that comment.

I have the information from streamers that the rework of mori is because the devs want to nerf the mori? How dou you get the idea that they want the mori be more often seen?

    There are further problems:

    1. I as survivor am fixing a generator. Killer downs a teammate. Nowadays I have to stop fixing and walk over to pick my mate up. Then I can continue fixing because I know that the survivor can pick himself or herself up. It impacts killer and survivor tactics.
    2. And this basekit is not unbreakable, but better than unbreakable. Unbreakable is one time per trial, and this basekit is said to be infinite.
    3. I had some matches, most memorable, when the killer hooked one mate and downed 2 other mates. And I was standing and trying to safe the trial, and succeeded sometimes. Time to be a hero? Heroes are no longer needed, just hide.
    4. It breaks the killers set of tactics.
    5. And worst of all: killers are the "Kellerkind" of BHVR, meaning the unloved and disadvantaged part of community. They are nerfed and furthermore nerfed, from 2016 until 2022. How often did the mori system get nerfed? I remember at least 2 times, this would be the third time. Same with NOED. And so on.

That's okay, but honestly this didnt take much effort and only a few mins to type up. I just have a brain that wont stop lol, was speaking about the game map to someone else and I was just listing all the pallet spawns from memory.

And honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the base 45, as long as it's always 45seconds no matter what then it wouldn't be massively impactful. It's only if others can pick themselves up in 23odd seconds would it cause issues.

So for example your first point, the killer still benefits from that 45second slug as before the survivor would have to wait 20odd and then get picked up by a teammate (at max 15seconds to cross the biggest of maps) so it's still a positive. It's only when you mix in the other things it becomes a huge concern

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Honestly I came into this expecting a very subjective biased post, but many of these points are quite good.

It was mentioned in another thread however that challenges are being looked at.

Well I'm glad you appreciate the post lol. When it comes to posts like this or my quality of life posts I try focus on overall experience.

I dont tend to be biased in terms of side I just tend to focus on the higher level which obviously can come across in certain ways sadly.

I always want what's best for both sides, I want to game to succeed afterall

  • Yep. This was in my list of many issues with the changes.

Why would I use an iri offering at the chance of 20k when I can use a cake for 40k..BHVR logic 101

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

I'm not reading all of that. All I know is that there will definitely be changes from PTB to live.

These are issues before even the PTB. I shouldn't be able to make a list like that before the PTB is even out...

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I am thinking about trying it out on Trickster but I am not sure about it. I wonder why Killers would be worth running this perk.

The perk shines on any killer who can get an injure on most loops, so the antiloop ones basically twins, deathslinger, artist etc.

But it's also good on high mobility killers as you can catch up to them faster after the hit meaning you have more time to force a pallet down/break before the timer runs out.

But the perk can work on all killers, some just easier than others but dont forget you dont have to go after the person you hit, the pallet will break for anyone who fast vaults so this can help with people who body block near a downed pallet.

I personally love it on stealth killers, usually an easier 1st hit and then after they cant vault a downed pallet making my next hit easier

If you haven't played in a while, no need to go back to count for this. i can just get good as killer and figure out how to deal with gideon. Crap, just got gideon as a map again...

Well honestly it's not really in your control as killer especially certain ones there's 0 reason for survivors to lose on this map against 80% of the killer roster, this map I have run a killer for 20mins (made a post on it because I still lost as my team just hid all game lol)

Certain killers have different things they can do to help with some of the loops but for the most part its relying on bad survivors not doing gens or wasting pallets quickly creating dead zones. I guess blood favors kinda counters this map a little as it can cover most of both floors but it's a hex so not reliable

  • Iv been playing the game awhile and at a high level so this sorta stuff just comes naturally on maps that dont have many variations or loop tiles lol.

I would count but I haven't played in awhile and I'm currently out too, but yeah alot of safe pallets got added with the rework

  • Well going off guaranteed spawns you always have 2 god pallets near basement/bathroom, right outside that is a jungle gym with another. Right above that is another 2 very safe pallets. You have a pallet right after the huge drop (near freezer room) if you go the other direction to the freezer room you'll have a pallet. You also always get a pallet at both exit gates, another pallet next to a drop in the corner of the map, there is also always an i wall loop (what I call it but they always have a pallet) and then you always have a pallet upstairs near the meat grinder, and another upstairs near the actual staircase in the corner.

So that's 13 just guaranteed spawns that dont slightly move, each section can have a pallet in them and/or a pallet between them. You also get a pallet up or downstairs next to every staircase, theres about 5 stairs? Not sure on how many sections. This is just off the top of my head

So to your answer, too many especially as 99% are safe pallets or god pallets.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

rip my ghost face moris on streamers

  • Or you're just unlucky like me?

If I play killer it spawns right at their feet, as soon as the 3rd dies the 4th escapes.

If I play survivor as soon as the 3rd dies 2 seconds later the hatch closes.

There have been some meme moments where me and the last survivor are just looking at each other nodding and the hatch spawns next to us and we slowly look at it and look back before nodding some more lol

  • @RenRen said:

Yeah I've been getting a lot of red bar and yellow bar connections not only for me but other survivors. Started happening after they added incentives though I don't know if there is a correlation.

Iv not had the red connection but iv seen plenty of others with it

  • It's most likely similar to the new wiggle system, you know how all platforms got the ability to opt into testing that feature?

I'm assuming it's like that but on a grander scale, so I'd assume some big tests everyone can get in on. Maybe some new mmr changes, perks, or something

I'd be impressed if you gave a decent reason for their existence. I doubt you have one.

Sure I can give you a reason.

It's an iri addon, like many iri addons it can drastically change the killers power. This one like many others offer the insta down ability at a cost, and that cost is you can only ever hold 1.

This is huge, and actually makes huntress weaker. Sure you can go down in one hit but she has to reload far more often wasting time, and if you avoid dropping pallets and just run round loops she cant throw over you wast so much time as shes 110%. You also dont need to heal ever, as a 110% you can waste so much of her time injured and spend that healing time to push gens even faster with hardly any downside.

You can also still DH it, honestly not a great addon and will often hurt the huntress more unless the survivors are playing bad when they know iri is in play. It's only sucks when they camp with it, like all insta downs really

  • @Mandy @Peanits

You can probably answer this one, I'm not sure myself nor have I seen it answered before so i dont wanna give the wrong info

Look, I respect Otz and he helped make me a better Killer and deserves commendation for that, but ever since the 6.1 update I've started to disagree with him more and more.

I honestly feel like he failed to adapt to the new game. I watch his newest streams, and especially his newest build recommendations and I have a hard time agreeing with him. I feel like he approaches DBD as a competitive game, and it honestly isn't. DBD is a game where sweating is actually detrimental to the game, where shooting for "the win" makes the game bad.

A Killer who "wants to win" is going to bring 4 Gen slowdown perks. They are going to be as oppressive as possible. They are going to hook camp, tunnel, all of the things that make the Durvivor experience undesirable.

Same with Survivor though. Survivors who want to win will rely on SWF team mechanics, which IMO is tantamount to cheating, while doing their best to Harrang and irritate the Killer, destroying the Killer gameplay experience.

IMO, this is actually why they went for the 6.1 update, to try and alleviate some of these symptoms. While yes, any Killer who wants to bring 4 slowdown perks still can, and I'm not on board with saying they shouldn't be able to, they shouldn't NEED to. When I run Killer, I try to bring 1 or 2 slowdowns, while building up what I feel will be a fun and challenging experience for the Survivors.

A good example will be this video here OTZ made about a year ago.

    https://youtu.be/Esh94DQIwOs

Literally no slowdown in the build, it's a build made to try and arrive just as the Gen pops and create mayhem. Honestly, should Otz win or lose this match, at least everyone was able to actually interact with the trial and play around with the situation the "power role" presented them.

Think about the concept they are bringing with Make Your Maker, where one player creates a difficult situation and it's the other players job to deal with the situation. That's what playing Killer in DBD today is. It's here's what you have got to deal with, deal with it. Should the Survivors overcome your most dastardly design, well good for them, and if the Killer's implementation successfully stopped you, well then good for them. It's an appreciation for the other players actions that is missing from the DBD community. When I play Killer, and others escape, I am happy for them, especially when it was because they overcame rather than I failed. It means that I need to go back to the drawing board, analyze what went wrong, what worked well, and how I can do better. When I play as Survivor, I have to try to find the gaps, the holes. You've got to find the salvation, even if that salvation is being the last alive and finding the hatch. It's eking out that gate escape because I patiently waited for the Killer to patrol this gate and he got impatient and decided to spend just a little to long checking the other gate.

I can't speak on the other issues Otz is having because they don't affect me. I dont have to worry about stream snipers. I rarely run into cheaters and hackers. When I do go against SWFs, even though I do consider their coordination essentially hacking, it is what it is. That doesn't mean I wasn't able to chase them down, it doesn't mean I wasn't able to implement my plan. It just means they were being fed information they weren't supposed to have, but at the same time who am I to say people shouldn't be able to play with their friends? It's just a dirty little reality we as Killer's have to accept.

Maybe a little break from DBD is a good thing for Otz, it will give him the ability to hopefully change his view of the game and let go of these notions he's failed to let go of of the game that were potentially destroyed during the 6.1 update, and for good reason.

0 gen defense is the worst, I'm sorry but it's kinda forced as you have no reward for doing your objective or going towards it.

I personally want games longer than 5mins and I HAVE to use gen defense to ensure that happens just so I can get a game with some actual gameplay.

Iv never been able to use fun builds like the one you showed, it's also why I hate adepts because it's just random if you get people that dont do gens. Otz has had some pretty lucky games back in the day with chill players just look at his AFK challenge where some of those games went on longer than most I have with gen defense even with downing faster.

Prompts to otz for sticking to it without breaks I couldn't do it, but if hes finally getting enough of these issues when nothing has really changed for the higher level hes just finally experiencing it himself

Yeah, I feel bad for people being targeted by cheaters and stream snipers, that honestly sounds like the biggest issue for Otz right now. It’s got to suck just trying to play the game for your job and a-holes are going out of their way to ruin it for you.

Yeah I can only imagine, I get alot of cheaters and some days iv even had multiple cheaters for a week straight and I was getting annoyed (this was rare) so I can only imagine what's it's like to be targeted constantly.

I wish there was a better anticheat in the game, definitely needed as DBD has the reputation for cheaters being common which is just bad business

It's not really about him being more serious, it's how he goes about it. He's said some things I agree with and some things I highly disagree with (Stuff like ruin being basekit, old Spirit being balanced and such)

Like I'm not trying to criticise the guy, but saying stuff like "they only face bad players and i don't because i'm amazing at the game" as a way of discounting people's opinions isn't the best way to put your ideas forward as correct.

DBD has made their careers, for the most part. I don't blame them for being upset that the game's lost its charm for them right now

Well true is a competitive player, if I'm not mistaken he came from fighting games? I cant stand them personally but it's a very highly competitive game especially when taken to tournaments etc.

So true is wanting balance for him and top at the highest lvl I never heard him say ruin base or hes amazing though. (I personally hate spirit changes, all I see is the same 2 high rarity addons, even versing true with them and it sucks) but they play at separate times so it wouldn't be a surprise if its different difficulties, plus they have different mindsets.

I don’t watch games on Twitch typically, I like the game but I don’t like it enough to watch someone sit and play it four five hours at a stretch. I do watch games on YouTube though since those are edited down to just a couple of matches, and on YouTube I used to watch Tru3 a long time ago but got sick of him complaining all the time about everything under the sun. Sometimes the complaints were valid, sometimes they weren’t, but it was constant. Just irritating to watch after a while.

Otz is generally a more positive personality. And he has videos where he talks at length about in depth strategy and things which, while they’re too long for my tastes sometimes, usually are indexed so if you want to see if he says something interesting about a character or perk or whatever you can just look it up. He’s basically a more entertaining creator than Tru3 in my opinion.

As far as the video this thread is about, it looks like its still up on demand, I’m not sure why the original poster said it was down. I didn’t watch much of it and I have no idea when he actually said he wants to take a break but the title of the video is something like “For the first time Since 2017 I’m not having fun in DbD”. I scanned to the middle where he played through a very close match where they got a four person escape against a really good Nurse and he seemed to be having fun, then he switched over to play Hades, and I didn’t hear him say anything off hand about quitting one way or another so he must have talked about it elsewhere in the video. 🤷‍♂️

Really the only unusual thing about Otz saying he wants to take a break is that he’s extremely prolific with DbD content. He literally just cohosted the Into the Fog stream last week and is in the Hardcore Survivor Youtube series that Dowsey and he and a couple other streamers put out which seems to be a full blown production. So if he’s burned out and wants to switch gears he’s probably looking to do it now that some major projects are done.

But I will admit otz is easier to get into and the information he gives on youtube is insane so lots of casuals will love that, true is just games from twitch put on youtube so honestly not that great. Both are okay people and both are experiencing similar issues which highlight issues the community has listed so many times

The difference is their attitude to people who disagree with them

I'm not even saying this to criticise the other streamer you're comparing him too, their attitudes are vastly different and that's why people have issues with one and not the other

I cant really say, I get true is more serious but you cant discredit what he says because of it. Hes just blunt and dont care while otz is more cautious of what he says and how he comes across. For example otz will call someone chill or casual, true would just call them bad...

I was just highlighting the fact both long time streamers are having the same opinion, ones been mega open for years and otz it's now starting to have enough.

I dont play either, if been with the game since they have, verse them often too but I couldn't play this game daily forever. I always need a break from the BS lol

  • Solo Q is fine, the issue is SBMM or the mentality of some players.

For example some people will quit/give up if it's a certain killer, map or they go down fast. You also have people trying to farm tome challenges which massively hinder the game.

If you put 4 solos matched correctly who arent gonna give up and arent doing a tome challenge they will get on completely fine and probably do really well

He told on his live that he will be taking a break from playing the game, it's something about maps, cheaters + itens, he was taking something about losing matches that didn't seems fair. The void was called "first time since 2017 not having fun in dbd". I guess he deleted the void.

I dont follow streamers, but isnt otz experiencing and feeling the as true did?

Not that I care but I find it odd if otz gets sniped, sees cheaters and finds things imbalanced and wants a break is okay but if tru3 gets sniped, sees cheaters and speaks about imbalances everyone hates him...

Either way the game isnt balanced, especially when you consider items, maps etc. And it's no surprise people get burned out or annoyed... but it's not like we haven't been saying for years we need better balance in maps or even a better SBMM and anticheat in the first place

  • Funny fact, it's called garden on joy but has the least grass for trapper traps on any outdoor map...

    Garden of sadness for trapper.

But yeah I dont enjoy the main building, it's that back window on ground floor, the fact you can take that multiple times or be pushed into a god pallet it's a little lame

  • When the killer picks someone up, run infront of them (this will start a chase) and then immediately jump in a locker. After the chase music stops give it a sec then jump out

Easy way if you're really struggling

    Statistics are the best liars.

I don't doubt 39% is the actual mean of escape rate for all survivors from all matches globally. However, that is masking a very big lie through omission with selective statistical presentation. Pre Patch BHVR happily released perk usage rate by MMR tier to justify itself. Note how they did NOT break down escape rate by MMR this time. The reason is quite simple.

High MMR SWF survivors probably have an escape rate of 50-75% going off data I can find and I think most true high mmr killers would concur. Those high mmr survivors also play a lot of games. So you have a small subset of your playerbase, maybe 10-20% who play lots of games that are skewing the number higher to 39% (which already seems painfully low).

So this means our low and medium mmr survivors are likely seeing escape rates of 15-25%, 30% tops. My own data from just under 400 games since 6.x patch pegs it around 15-20% (yes I'm probably low tier mmr now) and I've seen similar data sets from others.

What we need is escape rate broken down into MMR ranges and SoloQ vs SWF. Would also be interesting to average every players individual escape rate, then take a global mean and median of all players. This would remove impact of a pro survivor playing 1000 games in a week vs casual playing 10 games in a week. If there is a huge difference between the mean and mode, that would heavily indicate stats being skewed by a few highly skilled survivors. Same thing is done in economics, looking at the average/mean income isn't helpful because you have a few outliers earning tens of millions of dollars while the median shows your more true "average".

I'm also unclear how they intend an elo based mmr system to function if they aren't aiming for a 50/50 win rate. Seems like they were really close to good pre patch with 47/53 (although even that was getting skewed by high escape rate survivors). If most of your survivor player base sees under 30% win rate and killers get over 70% win rate, your mmr distributions are going to look like two inverse curves. Fear my mspaint skills to see the issue. How are you going to make good matches when each player base is lumped together on each end? With two different pools you have to match between, you would ideally want them to be similar shapes. This is probably why high MMR killers had bad queue times early on before they widened the spread.

Once again dont go off the stats, they dont actually show any useful information as theres too many variables you dont see, a common one is a DC. While a DC is void the others are not meaning its stil a 1v1v1v1 (if you didnt know that's how behaviour treat escapes/kills, they use the 1v1v1v1v1v1 aspect). This means a killer is likely to get more kills and those survivors will die. Not to mention this rating includes all MMR brackets.

As for personal escape rates Im far higher than 39% escape rate as a solo Q. Would be even higher if some games wasnt a SBMM mess with randoms never doing a gen lol

Flaslight saves are hard even good survivors miss the timing. Nurse is easier for me than getting flashlight save.

I'd say it depends on the killer, basic pickup animations are really easy to learn because as soon as the animation hits a certain point you aim the flashlight and the animations are pretty clear.
