I disagree. Legion is easily the worst killer in the game ATM. Deep Wound is a complete joke with how buffed it's gotten, loosing M1 hits on Frenzy means perks like Sloppy, Franklins, and STBFL are all useless, The pin's don't work half the time in the games I've been using it, it almost feels random on who gets broken or not, and now the Deep Wound doesn't go down when sprinting, so you'll never even loose mend time anymore.
I actually think the running change is amazing BECAUSE of the additional change that came with it. His terror radius no longer affects the mend timer, which means survivors have to run when he is near them. It can actually be pretty powerful from what I'm seeing so far

DBD isn't an endless wave game, though. That kind of thing works if you're just trying to see how long you'll last against an AI, but I doubt there are many people out there who are interested in competing against another player knowing they'll lose every time.
Good point, I think it would work with a more engaging central objective for Survivors though. Like think of it as a game where the survivors aren't actually directly competing with the killer, but instead have to engage with some objective that grows as the game progresses.. like say they had an infinite number of creatures outside of the killer that they could fight, kill, etc. And they have to balance the objective of killing as many of them as they can, receiving points towards level up, special items, whatever to make their time feel well invested and productive. Reward them for playing the survivor role and doing well rather than having it be so dependent on survival as the goal... But of course that's not exactly a possiblity for this game at this point so it's just me making a game up in my mind at this point lol.

Well this is a personal opinion but I would be ok if it was centered around a 3 Kill average as a Survivor but that's because I want the game to be scary. I grew up playing Silent Hill and RE so Survival Horror is what I live for and this barely has it despite the context. A Survivor dying, for me of course, should feel average and Escaping should be a great victory that is not often but MUST be done through hard work and hopefully fear and stress. That would be my ideal game because it would feel like a real horror game instead of what we got now, I don't feel threatened by any of the Killers unless they're a stealth Killer or it's Hillbilly because I know the tricks and I know the strats and I know the Killer can be easily duped into losing if my team is competent.
I know this is an opinion a lot of players feel strongly against and that's why I stress it's my ideal spot for this game as that would be more fun for me.
This guy gets it. Survivors aren't actually supposed to survive 50% of the time, like most of the classic horror movies that inspire this game, as well as all the horror games that came before, their should be a Max of one survivor...
Well this would work in theory if the game were fun enough on it's own, but gen repair sim does not make for an engaging game... So basically if the framework for a fun horror game from the outset existed, and it was just exciting/fun enough to exist in this game as survivor, then you could potentially make the higher death rate work as surviving wouldn't matter quite as much as the quality of time you spent in the matches...
Think about Call of Duty black ops zombies mode, you know you'll never survive, you'll have to die at some point, but you still attempt the Easter eggs and see how far you can go and have fun doing just that.

Nothing, that's the point people have been making for 3 years now
-
Wow, this whole rift challenge thing seems like a huge waste of timeANDmoney. Can I just pay someone here 5 bucks to send me all the lore entries?
-
At this point, I'm really just waiting for a better DBD clone, but it will be pretty difficult now because of all the licensed killers this game got... Maybe they even had to sign something saying these killers cannot be in another game for 5-10 years or something.. This game was fun and had so much potential, and they didn't do tooooo bad with it, but the lack of transparency, the lies, the handling of the console ports... Etc. Plus the fact you're made to feel like a second class citizen for not playing on PC? Like really, you little internet kids want to go around treating folks like 3/5s a man because they don't want to pay out the ass for a new computer just for DBD?
-
I just want one OP killer that can be brought out at anytime to make survivors so scared of my massive swinging hog, that they DC and instantly ban themselves for 10 mins just by looking at me. That's not asking for a lot, and if I don't get it I will uninstall this game and have one of my buds at ICE deport an immigrant family. Your move, BHVR
-
Yea, Demo is boring af and will remain that way for the course of the game. Come on guys, we have to rework Spirit, who's... Let's just say is performing too above average (not according to the stats we chose to provide, but eh..) and then we have to go back and need Freddy again because he's just being ridiculous right now, I mean averaging 3 KILLS A GAME? Not in my sandbox, bich!
So yea, Demogorgan is performing just as it should.. As a marketing tool for both properties!
-
You should only facecamp survivors because it's enjoyable, not because you're triggered.. As penance, you should upload a video of you playing for 24 hours, camping the first survivor you down and facecamp them to death, repeating until each game ends. Also record whatever messages you may receive. Then play survivor for a whole day and do nothing but get in the killers way as often as possible while t-bagging. Then send toxic messages whether or not you lose, and also upload this 24-hour cycle

Yep. Even the Nurse complainers are getting in on the action...as apparently having “only” a 65.8% kill rate is evidence that the nerf went to far. Entitlement nonsense.
Reread those stats and notice they only included PC nurse's.. Console nurse is probably sitting at 20%, and I would love a console ONLY stat, just one..
-
Oh they still disregard console play on here huh? Damn, they killed this game. I haven't been on this forum in almost a year, played DBD barely more than the times I've been on here, and low and behold it seems like they are ruining the most fun to play killers again... Well, looks like I resety my password for nothing..
-
Hello all, I started playing DBD with 2 friends about 3 weeks ago; they both play survivor so I spent my first few days as survivor.
I used to play this game exclusively, almost everyday, for almost 2 years. I was very heavily a Killer player, and I csn tell you, there is a certain point wherr you are winning 70-80% of your games, which WILL happen if you learn the game well enough. But that tension, once its gone, makes the game very unexciting to play, and it gets to a point where all you have left is the in the moment aggravation of chasing a survivor who knows every tile and thinks they'll beat you becasue "killers suck" and the slight joy you get from putting them in their place.
Pipping becomes irrelevant, but the negative feeling of losing pips os always kind of their, and then the feeling of the risk outweiguing the reward can't be shaken by a 20 win streak, so you just lose interest. Then you move on to a more competitive minded game, maybe go back to fighting games, and forget all about DBD until you get a random ban from PSN and think to yourself "is it even worth going through the hassle of reactivating?"
This game has some great highs and lows, but it burns you out sooner or later, then you just kind of stop returning, maybe play a game a weak and find it purposless or needlessly stressful..
-
I was going to ######### on this, but honestly... shape for me was a fairly spor on description

It would be an even better idea if they also allowed customizable margins, like for instamce allowing us to see what it would be like if, for instance, you could tweak the charge speed of huntresses hatchets, or change a killers TR to incorporate wacky, unique builds on different killers.

iirc last nerf myers got was "long" ago. Not sure about his addons. He is still top tier killer and i know a few myer mains who think the same way. I actually used to main him believe it or now
he's top tier for sure but only just. I think his cap needs to be removed and he needs to be able to stalk 2 or more people again. It'd make him level with Billy. @PoweasRemove the EW cap? U crazy? 😂
I mean, being able to stalk without a limit of times per survivor?
Some survivors stealth and literally let u get ew3 but lose you to DWM and Lithe. It makes the games long and you have to end it in tier 2 and they genrush you. And to be able to stalk as much survivors would make him way more scary when u face him. He deserves to be top tier and have a viable base.
Dont get me wrong, i love myers, but i personally think he's quite balanced in his current state.
Of course i would gladly hear/read @yeet opinion about this.
i don't agree with having stalking be just totally unlimited, but perhaps evil regening over time if you haven't stalked a survivor for a period
Yes that's a good idea too but you might as well make it unlimited, I just want to see 1 DLC killer except Freddy when he was released to be joint strongest/second strongest. I know if you make Myers have 20% faster base stalking, unlimited juice, let him stalk if ur in his los, so even if you're across the map against Myers, if sees you your dead and being able to stalk as much people as u can see, he'd be straight up as good as Nurse with his base.
there's things you need to consider like tombstone and unlimited EW3 which would be totally unbalanced with these changes
5 blink Nurse, Prayer beads, instasaw, mint rag? You could give them some nerfs but there's other addons that are op too.
getting a tombstone tuft combo off before 5 gens with ease would be absolutely absurd
also instasaw is way overrated tbh, as well as 5 blink nurse, the most you ever need is 3
You only need 2 for Nurse, 3 is a crutch and 5 is downright disgusting.
@Poweas @yeet
Am i the only nurse who finds more useful the reduce fatigue addons than extra blinks?no, i skip extra blinks on the bloodweb
Yeah, imo 2 blinks are more than enough. Trying to git gud with nurse on console, it's hard but i got a lot of patience and a minibar full of alcohol.

I love it, but these devs will not allow this game to be a grind, despite the fact they have a succesful cosmetic store with obtuse, overpriced in game currency already, and don't really need to rely so heavily on the grind portion..
Nevertheless, l can see them keeping it because without it, you won't be wasting the damn freemium currency to buy perks/BP on the bloodweb, meaning two things:
1. The bloodweb will become more pointless in general.
2. you could almost grind out a total two articles of clothing a week (that they'd actually allow you to buy with the damn freemium currency..)

Rank resets are dumb and the crux of this issue.
I hate rank resets because I drop down and end up smashing people that are new and just trying to learn and enjoy the game, maybe explore around and have a fighting chance at living.
And then me, a previously rank 1 killer, comes in and bulldozes 5 random newbies.

I Ok, ypu need to stop... This game is for adults, presumably the kind who have played a video game before. There is no rule that new players are entitled to a welcome wagon and snuggles in their games. At this point, anyone JUST getting into the game knows what they signed up for, and it wasn't to be coddled.
Now granted, I hate rank reset too... because Ranks should not exist in a game that is not trully competitive in the first place. An assymetrical horror game does not scream "sport center" to me. The other problem is ranks and other fairly intangible rubrics are used to decide how weak and how strong something should be, because it must be prefaced with the illusion of balance in mind. If we could just get rid of the idea that a game where you can't possibly be properly prepared or adjusted for, at any given time, what killer you go against, what map you get, and other factors including perks and addons is supposed to be a competitively balanced game, then this game would be all the better for it and we could worry about things that are fun on both sides and accentuating those features, rather than focusing on the imbalances we don't like.
Camping and looping will always be in the game. So will D-strike and NOED. They aren't always fun to go against, but they are fun for those on the using end. I say that if there were enough fun, exciting, possibly risky ideas thrown into both sides, it would make the frustrations of this game pale compared to the fun factor. -
The_Crusader said:Isn't this just due to the audio issues?
I don't remember it being a problem pre-update. But yeah footsteps, breathing, and groans of pain all seem a bir quiet right now and music is definitely too loud. Stridor doesn't seem anywhere near as effective as it was pre-update either.
Hopefully they can fix the audio soon.
Idk, I haven't noticed much difference in OG stridor over this stridor since the change. I still find myself getting more correct positions as Spirit than not when using it... Maybe I should test it again. Now that I think about it, I have run my face into a survivor more than a couple times since the update, believing they might be farther than they actually are. The mixing is a problem.
-
I don't like it, but it happens at a ridiculous rate on both sides lately. I can't count how many killers I made DC because I simply looped them hard enough, but I wouldn't be able to even ballpark how many survivors have quit games where I was killer.
Just last week in three different games, I had at least two survivors quit the game before even 1 gen was finished. Super frustrating for both sides when a survivor teammate quits, because now I'm put in a position where I can either waste the next 15 minutes trying to be a nice guy and allowing the survivors to farm, or I can end the game and be considered a dick, when all I want is to move on to the next game.
But what can you do? It seems to me if they actually pit harsh bans on quiters, at least a quarter of this games population would be lost. -
Trust me here, using Stridor on spirit is definitely worth it. I hardly ever lose a survivor chase with it and a set of headphones... in fact, the other day I even played without headphones and it worked just fine.
Not that I'm against it as the sound compression now makes hearing that much more difficult, but take it from me, I will be deaf in my 40's from all the loud music I constantly play in my ears. With Stridor, you'll hear just fine. -
DS is easily mind gamed, I don't even care anymore. I just drop them, usually once, then let them think I'll keep doing it, making them ######### up the momentum to use it. 9/10 even the best survivors can't prepare for it.
I don't get me wrong, yea it sucks, it's still kind of a BS perk, but honestly I hate it more for the idea of it at this point. Honestly, BT is more annoying nowadays because people exploiting at endgame basically = no counterplay if more than 1 survivor brings it or they made sure you were unaware of it.
I think the proper balance for this should be to just make BT trigger on a set killer proximity to the unhook rather than the killers TR. -

Stop cheesing before you noobs get Deepwound and Legion nerfed even more.
Change to "Not working in TR"? That will be even better, M&A/Insidious and let the party going on. Survivors wanted weak killer, so they will have unfun and frustrating games.
I wouldn't be to worried about a killer who think m+a is a good choice for Legion lol
Because it is, less TR while not in chase, more TR while in chase and more ground covered by his Killer Instinct ability. If they would add the feature, so BT won't tick down in TR, and would tick down while not in TR, then M&A would be even better.
So tell me again, why M&A is not a good choice?
Because it's a waste of a perk slot. It's like running Agitation. Yes it helps a tiny bit but overall is garbage.

You can camp all you want but you're gonna get gen rushed because you're not applying map pressure. Additionally, you also lose emblem points towards your Chaser category (I think, I never camped so I don't know what it takes points off of). I usually play strong killers like the Spirit who doesn't need to camp because she is strong enough to hook everyone 3 times on rotation. Overall, it comes down to your preference, if you camp then it's gonna be harder to rank up, especially against survivors who know how to punish it.Tsulan said:After the recent BBQ nerf.
Out of curiosity.
On lower ranks you don't have those problems and even get more points.
So why bother?
I only want to chime in on this point... The idea of a ranking system like this is stupid for that very reason. You shouldn't seperate ranks and skills of players in the first place.
The reason some players plateau or get stuck floating at a certain rank is they don't challenge themselve against people who are better. Its basically fighting games 101, play better people and become better. And babysteppping into it as the ranks intend is a diservice to anyone who actually wants to get better. -

Now I agree when it comes to poster on poster viloence? Oh, awful thing, I think all posters should be friends and forever be civil and on the p's and q's. A place where forum mates can be friends, sounds awesome. But again, you are blurring the distinction between players bashing each other (which does a occur much too often) and people criticizing this game. You shouldn't do that, you should stop doing that in fact.
The fact you feel you need to whiteknoght and grandstand for the devs is just silly. They are adults with full paying jobs and 401k's, they don't need you to defend them from the internet. Their positive feedback comes in the checks they continue to recieve from this game everytime someone buys the game or it's dlc. They also get PLENTY of positive feedback, which ironically you probably ignore or don't see much of because the thing about human nature is when things are going good, it's mostly silence, but when things are bad, things get a lot louder and more visible.

Being an m1 killer with no special traits hurts LF all the more because he has a power with the most limited utility in the game. No debate he is the worst. -

It avoids intentional abuse, shortens lobby times (especially at higher ranks), allows new players insight into what's going on at a higher level within the game(and whether they are qilling to get better at this game or not to be competitive), and best of all, the devs can stop justifying balance for lower ranks and actually balance for the initiated and those willing to put time into the game... -
What I fail to see is how this "discourages" camping... Wouldn't the logical thing now just be to stand closer by the hook and grab the guy with BT? If it's an swf, I'm usually banking on only one survivor having BT anyways, otherwise there's a team of survivors wasting a perk slot... So if BBQ gives me no ticks, why now should I not Literally face camp a survivor? Not that I would, because I don't litterally camp every hook I get, I barely even play this game anymore, but just a thought.

The amount of killers complaining on here about survivors working together on gens and people hiding in lockers too have been commented on by a lot of killer mains. Including a very certain few who were quite vociferous about gen rushing etc.
I don't think you know how gen rushing works. More survivors on more gens is faster than more survivors on one gen. -

@AgentTalon But they also gonna nerf DS soon (maybe in this patch?) and what can the survivors do? Nothing. Maybe it will be more balanced if they did so you only had 1 or 2 hatches with that addon. Addons to add more will not add more with that addon, i think what will be better because 4 hatches instadown is really OP like the old insta hatches build. To be fair, to have more than 2 hatchets you need to use multiple add-ons. I think using 2 limited use items is where the balance lies.
Considering Huntress only has one Ultra Rare, I get an Iridescent Head on like every Bloodweb. It really isn't hard to sustain an infinite supply of them if you wanted to.
Dang at 41 I have only gotten 2 of them so for me they are still a rare item. Again though, that's less an issue of the add-on and more the RNG and bloodweb setup. I still have yet to play against it, granted I don't have the 500+ hours everyone else seems to.
If you haven't played against it why the hell are you commenting on it's balance?
Because I have played against the Huntress and a hatchet throw is a hatchet throw. I've been hit by 2-3 in total. If hatchets were sniper rifle speed with no windup this would be a problem but in my experience, it seems pretty easy to dodge a hatchet.
Just because the Huntress is bad doesn't mean the addon isn't brokenly strong. Technically a 5 blink Nurse is terrible if she can't hit her blinks.
Scott, you act like you've NEVER missed a iri hatchet. Why the ######### you always have to white night for nerfs against killers, even against balanced ones? You want to nerf Pig too, maybe having extra helmet add ons just allows for too much sloppy play?
Do you actually believe if you took away iridescent heads that would be healthy and fine for all huntress players, just cuz you got 3 times as many hours playing period compared to most players? We get it, you're so good, everything is broken when YOU use it, and we all just need to play as well as you every single game you post to realize it.. ######### it bro, lets nerf the red claxbone add on for wraith too. Its atupid broken to come out of invisibility whenever you want without warning, and I have like 30 of them bitches. Don't lose at rank 1, plz nerf
-
Man ######### forum formalities and balance, I say this is a cool idea that screws people for doing what they were supposed to, and there is NO problem with that if you actually think about it. Why do only survivors get to punish killers for doing they're job? But beyond pettiness, why are we so concerned with the balance of such a ridiculous game, over FUN FACTOR?
The biggest problem with the game is it takes itself way to serious (and so do some of you weirdo #########) killers should be powerful, survivors should be fun. Instead killers and survivors are both chasing balance, meanwhile this game gets less exciting and dynanic with each set of changes. You aren't really rewarded for playing imaginatively on killer side past the point of deciding whether you want to defend a totem or not. It just becomes the same thing with a few superficial changes.
Imagine if each killer was ACTUALLY unique instead of maybe two or 3. Imagine if killers didn't even attack in the same way. Only the huntress, hillbilly, and leatherface can attack a survivor in a different way than a normal smack.
-
You say you wouldn't mind an update that would force survivors to leave, yet you condemn noed. You say you don't like the idea of being rewarded for how you should play, but at the same time feel that survivors are privy to how many totems are on the map at any given time by default?Damarus said:As much as nobody should have to tell you a match can't be thrown just because you got tunneled to death AND camped afterwards. Most killers pretend looping is bad, then proceed to tunnel the s**t out of every single player until they can be hooked. Stealth is an aspect of the game that is poorly developed, making it really useless in most scenarios. Looping is the only real way survivors can actually "survive" a cheap tunneling bloodlust killer. So yes, punishing killers for camping is a good thing, that should be more perceivable than it is now, as you won't really lose points by doing so, even after the update. And I don't see how the usual "survivors will abuse that" argument can make a point here. Do hooked survivors stop losing health while on hook, if the killer is near (and I think this should be a thing)? Do they get points for it? Not at all.
To answer your question, no, looping is not and will never be more toxic than camping is. By camping, you are preventing a player to actually enjoy the game, until he dies, while also making him lose pips. While on hook, players can do nothing. Killers can still chase, move, break pallets, hit THROUGH pallets and windows (yet no killer seems to have a problem with that). Of course, I dislike gen rush as well, while playing as a killer, but they can't just add more time to gen repairs (or they could, but then exit gates should open instantly). From what you are saying, you can't punish a side for doing something the other side finds toxic, but you are saying pallet looping is toxic? I must have lost the reasoning behind this. Again, camping and tunneling killers are preventing someone from playing, something the killer is never bound to. If you don't want a "playstyle" being punished, even cheating can be considered a playstyle (and toxic, for those who are exposed to it), so cheaters shouldn't be punished? Getting tunneled, camped or gen rushed is not stimulating gameplay. And while camping is the easiest one to address, tunneling and gen rushes are more difficult. Some people, including myself, proposed an on hud indicator that shows both killers and survivors how many totems are still up/ have been cleansed. It would make a secondary objective more prominent, especially now that lobbies are full of tryharding NOED killers. But guess what, killers don't want that. Everytime something that could make survivors focus on other things rather than just gens, killer mains disagree, unless it is something that would take more time than a gen done by yourself, even if all 4 survivors are doing that. About BBQ, it rewards you for playing the way you SHOULD. If we have to be rewarded to play how something is meant to be played and not to be punished for playing badly, then survivors might as well get a perk that gives them a 90% speed boost for every objective interaction, because that is what they should be doing. I wouldn't mind an update that forces survivors to leave once the gates are open, for instance, since that is what they are supposed to do. -

Ok, now go look at ZubatLEL, ScottJund, Marth88, Tru3Tal3nt, and any decent killer out there, and tell me how much you see them recurring to that even in hard situations. Playing killer is currently a joke compared to playing survivor, which is lost games over lost games because of how much you rely on your team which often will kill you just because they didn't play perfectly (which I'd personally not really expect them to do, I'd have something to say if they play bad or stupidly, but if they don't all play perfectly we shouldn't die).
Whether you like hearing this or not, I'm playing rank 1 both as survivor and as killer, and I win most of my killer games without even needing ruin whereas I lose most of them as survivor, does this look like a game where the killers struggle so much that they deserve to have these strategies as an option? The streamers that I mentioned earlier didn't ever camp not even back in the days when the game was survivor sided, they just camped in their first year 2016/beginning of 2017 in the game because they were inexperienced, but after a while you realize that it's a lot more challenging to play differently, if you're a good player and not a trashcan at the game of course.

Tunneling and camping have always been debated but they start deserving a little more attention now that survivors got nerfed in everything and that we would be given limits even in taking a #########.
It's time to give some importance to the harsh experiences that survivors have in this game as well as it's been given to those that the killer had, and one of these is to deal with tunnelers and campers; not one good killer main needs that, many of them disagree with that play style and it's in general really unfair and unfun.
Not once you could say that it's fun to get camped or tunneled, and you don't want the game to be unfun for neither one of the sides, don't you, Behav10ur?
Survivors used to be hard to be gotten on their first hook, so, to a limited extent, camping was even justifiable; but now being hooked is something that has to happen by force at least once during your game unless you're playing immersed or the killer is playing his first game on Dead by Daylight, and thus the killers shouldn't be granted the possibility to play unfair against you in the moments when you're most vulnerable and when you can't do anything at all.
If I was to play with a Survive With Friends team, not only I would have an easier chance with some teamplay to escape the tunneling/camping, but I'd also understand why the killer would do that, because he's having a hard time too in doing anything against us and he might be inexperienced and feel the necessity to play somewhat unfair.
But now we're coming down to the point why I'm writing this post: I can't conceive dying to this unfair play style when I'm playing solo, I'm not using any "crutch" perk or addon and I'm not teasing the killer in any way at all. This just can't happen and be all normal, especially if I'm on rank 1, killers that play like scumbags shouldn't reach any rank higher than 15, and that's it.
Do you want this not to be bannable? Don't make it bannable, it's fine, but prevent it to the fullest from happening, give the killer some huge debuffs if he tries to hit the just unhooked survivor as well as giving no damage to the survivor himself, freeze him if he stands around the hook for too long, don't let this ######### happen anymore, these are just ideas:
it's the end of 2018 and if there's one toxic and lame strategy (which you bhvr guys loved to call "legitimate" and "valid") that ruined the game since its beginning and that probably caused many players to quit it from the gold time that it had in 2016, that is the killer sitting around your hook once he's done catching you with you not having half a chance to escape from that.
It's just time to either provide any valid motivation (not as valid as you claim that camping is as a strategy, since it isn't) why you wouldn't want to touch this in any direct way, or to actually abruptly apply some drastic changes to the hook context.
Now, I did vent some anger in this post since I'm really tired of dealing with this and even though I've got 1200hrs in the game I'm disabled from doing anything against it, but I really am convinced about what I said here, those are just 100% no-fun strategies, you don't want to keep them in the game, not one decent person in the community is glad of it being a thing, some just take it but nobody would disagree with it being gotten rid of.
Oh boy, another one of these "I don't like how killers play so I think they should get banned" threads.
Fix or bans doesn't mean please ban all of them immediately. I'm fine with no bans, but that needs to be removed from the game, it's been unaddressed for way too long, if you guys are serious players of this game camping is not even anything you'd really consider, so you're either new players or you're talking about something you shouldn't really care about.> @Chrona said:
In a word, no.
Camping is literally an intregal part and even an advertised strategy for this game
If that's an advised strategy, after all the ######### that the killers can do without it already (nurse/billy/huntress/spirit with more than ~150hrs played on that killer = no chance for the survivors to ever consider escaping, par example), then this game can't be taken seriously by anyone, but since there's a quite large community I'm assuming that you just invented that straight away.
As I already said, not one good player ever thinks of recurring to camping or tunneling, I don't see what you guys have to defend about it unless you're bad players yourselves.
No good player will try to camp because it simply is a stupid tactic. Survivors with any brain will just do the gens while you are afk in front of the hook and leave. Comitting to camping will simply make you lose the game against competent survivors.
Tunneling is just common sense, just like you go back to the gen you already repaired to 60% instead of strating a new one
Nah, camping gives you too much in most situations, people were just bored of getting free kills without deserving them after a while, I'm assuming.
And also, I'd rather examining the point of view of a camped survivor rather than the killers', if I get hardcamped and they get the gens done quickly, I honestly couldn't care any less, I just wanted my chance to play the game that I've been in, because otherwise I could just do something else in my life rather than wasting my time in front of a scum player.
Also about tunneling, I win most of my killer games by letting the freshly unhooked survivors go even if they're in front of me, and that just makes the game more fun for both of us and more challenging for me. I wouldn't really compare that to the gens.> @Dragonredking said:

How would you define tunneling? If I get an unhook notification and happen to run into the guy who just got unhooked when checking it out, he goes back to the hook. If I see both the rescued guy and the one who rescued him, it depends. When I’m struggling in the match, I will probably go after the guy I hooked before. Taking one survivor out of the game massively increases my chances of winning. In general, I will not actively look for one specific guy, but I certainly will not spare him if I run into him.
I do that as well, if I was far away from the hook and the rescuer hides it's his fault, I can't just leave the unhooked guy if he's the only guy that I have in front of me, one thing is not tunneling and giving chances and another is cooperating with the survivors. Nice points tho> @EntityDispleased said:
Camping is the only thing I really dislike at the moment but tunneling is the only way killers can control the match and not get genrushed to #########. Until the devs finally extend the objectives/have survivors work a lot longer to escape, tunneling will still be a thing. I also think the pallet changes were a bit way too much since with the right build you can wipe out half the pallets on the map before your ruin even gets destroyed and it's tilting for survivors and quite boring for killers imo.
Nice point on the pallets, about tunneling because of genrush, I usually slug at most, but I often turn out to just apply enough map pressure by just hooking the survivors quite frequently. Nice that someone doesn't come here yelling at me and that is an actual reasonable person, even if you agree with the argued play styles.

Dude we're in 2018, that just needs to be addressed, if you're one of those campers that never lost the habit since 2016, it's time to lose it. The survivors got nerfed to their core, you can't still have these strategies available as killer. The game changed, did you notice that 1.0.0 turning into a 2.3.2 while starting your game and the last number in the date in the bottom right corner turning into 2018 from 2016?
@DemonDaddy said:
Not condoning it, but how do you limit tunneling in any form without affecting every other aspect of the game? Most of the time switching targets is not ideal, especially for those killers whom have less skill. If you have multiple survivors evading well, ofcourse focus goes to the weak link. How do you stop this without creating an opportunity to abuse the new safety? I agree its not fun, but I also don't want to take a killer's choice of play from them.
Ah killers have plenty of chances, I'd say that an intense level of tunneling would deserve being addressed, if you focus on a survivor whenever he gets freed but he always has his chance to hold a chase against you, then that could be fine. Maybe they could give a decent timer to the negative buffs affecting the killer in case he attacks the freshly unhooked survivor, so that after a while, even if he kept on chasing him, he shouldn't really get anything bad from catching them.
@Kebek said:
You probably can't even notice how foolish those ideas of yours sound. You are trying to punish killers for using intended features.
How would you like getting downed for working on gen for more then 10s without taking 30s break to prevent you from gen rushing which is considered to be toxic. You probably wouldn't like it right.
Learn to live with camping and tunneling since they can only be discouraged which I agree with but you can't ever force people to not do them since they are part of the game as any toxic or annoying behaviour survivors can do legitimately.
That's where you're wrong, survivors could be toxic and annoying, but that really is just exposing them more than they already are since the latest updates of the game, the killer can just easily catch the survivors by force, there's nothing survivors can do, winning a chase as survivor is only possible if the killer decides to leave him because he feels like he's wasting time. And for you too, intended features are not always balanced, even instablind flashlights and instagenning brand new parts were intended features, those weren't bugs, but devs had to address them because of their lack of balancing in the game.> @ad19970 said:
Well right now with gen rush still being this effective especially tunneling is like the most viable strategy against an incredibly good survivor team that can rush through generators very fast, and especially with some low tier killers the only way to have any chance to win against an almost perfect survivor team. Punishing those players with dc is just not fair at all.
There's not much they can do against it now. I agree though that both of these strategies are not good and very frustrating for survivors. If they ever nerf gen rush, than by all means nerfing camping and tunneling would be a must. I hate both of those strategies, but even then sometimes there is little else I can do as a killer than tunnel.
Just also don't confuse camping with hook patrolling, which killers often need to do if they suspect a survivor near the hook.
Yeah, another guy said the same, I personally don't really find it hard, but tunneling because of the genrush is more acceptable than the close minded thoughts that some other users are having in here.> @Just_Meh said:

@vert3x first of all, "tunnelling" is a good strategy, end of story. Is it fun for the survivor? No, but neither is descisive strike, flashlights, totems getting broken seconds into the match fun for the killer.
And I said advertised, not advised. Secondly, if it was something the devs didnt want us to do ever, period, insidious, hook interupt grabs, etc, wouldn't be a thing. And yeah, if I'm playing against good survivors, or a 4 man swf, I'll hard camp. For one, why not? For two, they more often than not flock to the hook. I can usually get at least one in exchange for them getting tthat one off the hook.
Yeah if you have to mention flashlights among the frustrating things after the changes they received in the past summer which made flashlight saving occasional, then I'd assume your playtime is averagely 100hrs.
About the second part, again, devs used to want instablinds and instagens on the bnps as well, yet they got removed/made useless because of how broken they were, and the same should happen to this.
So, you throw like, 4 popular killer streamers out yhere, just tell everyone play like them, amd expect us to take you serious, but when killers used Marth88's experiment to display how weak killers were to SWF, it's invalid, for so many reasons, including "No one really plays like thay, Marth and his crew are exceptionally good, they are the exception!"
I'm just saying, that double standards feom where I'm standing. And regardless of you being bad at survivor, there are plenty of survivors who haven't made a peep about most of the changes. Plenty with much more tham 1200 hours. This is what happens when the easy side is no longer easy. I mean come on man, you act like there arent Survivor streamers out there still killing it. Go look up Jendenise if you need.
Yeah go look up a 4 man premade player that uses DS and instaheals in most of her games, that's the way you go.
This game is rotten, and one of the reasons why it is is this toxic community. Keep on saying "get good" and "you're bad at the game" while you're playing the easy role and people just come at you saying that they aren't enjoying their gameplay, then once balancing will kick in (cause if it won't the game will die) expect us to say the same to you guys who will struggle to barely get a kill per game because you likely didn't develop any skill but the capability of pressing S and walking backwards to hide your red stain.
Lol you must have gotten all those 1200 hours in 5 months or something. How lacking in self awarness must you be?
I was playing when BT was still powerful, I've been playing since before Freddy was neefed because survivors complained before he even left PTB, I remember when killers couldn't do much about spots on certain maps and infinites still existed. I'm tried and tested in this already lol, nothing you can say can change that. But I'm on ps4 as well, if you want to show me how good you are with killer and survivor, just add me, my gamertag is my name here. -
This ######### is toxic as toxic can be. You have to be really shortsighted and short of wits to claim otherwise, or maybe a very new player. Wishing cancer/######### was a formal greeting from survivor players both on the Original forums and the endgame screen just about a year ago, probably since the begining. Now, mostly only the forums are toxic from what I can tell. But make no mistake, this place is trash and I mean that in a disposable waste of space sense.
Really, what good thing has come of these forums since they started? As much as the devs can be straight up dumb sometimes, I kind of feel bad that they have to constantly deal with this disgusting thing. Like there must be no quicker way to become disillusioned with the idea that your work has a purpose and is appreciated. -

I wouldn't really compare that to the gens.> @Dragonredking said:@Vert3x said:

The game director as been promoting camping since day one
He also camped in a majority of the game that he streamed back when he occasionaly streamed
Welcome to the real world where have you been?I know perfectly that the devs have been approving these strategies since the beginning, and I mentioned that a couple of times in my post, claiming that it's time for it to no longer by any valid because of the changes that the game received.
Welcome to my post, what have you read before commenting?@dontTouchMyGens said:
How would you define tunneling? If I get an unhook notification and happen to run into the guy who just got unhooked when checking it out, he goes back to the hook. If I see both the rescued guy and the one who rescued him, it depends. When I’m struggling in the match, I will probably go after the guy I hooked before. Taking one survivor out of the game massively increases my chances of winning. In general, I will not actively look for one specific guy, but I certainly will not spare him if I run into him.I do that as well, if I was far away from the hook and the rescuer hides it's his fault, I can't just leave the unhooked guy if he's the only guy that I have in front of me, one thing is not tunneling and giving chances and another is cooperating with the survivors.

@not_queen can you shead some light or help stop this thread from becoming a pointless argument against somone that wants a dev backed tactic goneDude we're in 2018, that just needs to be addressed, if you're one of those campers that never lost the habit since 2016, it's time to lose it. The survivors got nerfed to their core, you can't still have these strategies available as killer. The game changed, did you notice that 1.0.0 turning into a 2.3.2 while starting your game and the last number in the date in the bottom right corner turning into 2018 from 2016?

Not condoning it, but how do you limit tunneling in any form without affecting every other aspect of the game? Most of the time switching targets is not ideal, especially for those killers whom have less skill. If you have multiple survivors evading well, ofcourse focus goes to the weak link. How do you stop this without creating an opportunity to abuse the new safety? I agree its not fun, but I also don't want to take a killer's choice of play from them.Ah killers have plenty of chances, I'd say that an intense level of tunneling would deserve being addressed, if you focus on a survivor whenever he gets freed but he always has his chance to hold a chase against you, then that could be fine. Maybe they could give a decent timer to the negative buffs affecting the killer in case he attacks the freshly unhooked survivor, so that after a while, even if he kept on chasing him, he shouldn't really get anything bad from catching them.

I hate both of those strategies, but even then sometimes there is little else I can do as a killer than tunnel.Just also don't confuse camping with hook patrolling, which killers often need to do if they suspect a survivor near the hook.
Yeah, another guy said the same, I personally don't really find it hard, but tunneling because of the genrush is more acceptable than the close minded thoughts that some other users are having in here.> @Just_Meh said:
Camping is a viable strategy.
Tunneling is a smart strategy.
Going after injured players is smart.
Let's first fix what's broken.
You just listed yourself what is broken, so let's fix it, yeah.> @Chrona said:

To add to the topic, a few buffs I think the RBTs could use without a rework (to be clear, RBTs do deserve a complete rework):
-Every time a generator is completed the timer on all active RBTs are accelerated by 15-20 seconds. This is in keeping up with the theme of the movies (Rushing gens to try to be selfish and save myself or wait for my buddy to get his RBT off to pop the gen, making the game more painful for everryone but possibly saving everyone)
-Make Rule Set No.2 part of the base, default kit.
-Add an Ultra Rare Add-On that injures survivors every time that they search a Jigsaw Box, like the Bloody Coil for the Trapper (this is very in-line with the movie series; the traps are PAINFUL to take off. You hear the survivors making grunts of pain in this game when searching the Jigsaw Box but it currently does not translate into gameplay).
I like some of your ideas as add oks perhaps. For instance, they should probably just change the effects of rule set # 2 to thatbof your first suggestion. An anti-gen rush add on that makes sense in context and isn't too overbearing. But I fear the devs and survivor mains will say it provides too much opportunity to tunnel effectively or something stupid. It absolutely makes sense to be an add on, which is why I feel like there has to be a reason the devs haven't thought of making at least an add on to wotk this way.
As for your second ultra rare? That one I like to an extent. It's just, most people will tunnel boxes as soon as they have an opportunity anyway, unless they feel extremely lucky about not running into you again...Devs and survs will say this only promotes tunneling anyway, since presumably the person will still be injured if they got a helmet on them in the first place and were taken off a hook. I see the potential surprise it can cause though when someone decides they need to heal with an active bear trap on then instantly injure themselves. But it will work once on any competent SWF and really any survivors paying attention. If this were an add on, I don't even know if it be worthy of ultra rare (although, neither are any of her current ultra rares, tbh). -
Pssssh why wait that long to play a new game. Haven't even touched DbD in almost a week since Red Dead 2 came
