I hate it
Now I have one of two choices (assuming this happened early in the match). I take my foot off the brakes and get stuck in a match going a lot longer than it should because there's only three people working on stuff or I just go for the quick kills just to get the damn game over with and then feel bad because those three likely never had a real chance...
It's a waste of everyone's time and I really wish BHVR would figure something out to deal with it
Same than him, everything is said there.

At the current state, I think everyone agrees with the fact that red ranks killers have to bring a plethora of regression perks to win. I mean, even if you have Undying Ruin, if you messed up your first chase it will 75% of the time makes you lose the game.
You don't have time for anything as a killer, I found it pretty cool the "Killers vault slowly windows, they have all their time" when I started to play DbD, and today I'm like "kick that f- gen faster", "heyyy, take your time washing your knife big boy, it's not like the last gen is po- ah for f- sake I have to defend the gates",... As a killer, you're more stressed than a guy late for his job.
And that lack of time, implies that you have to bring some precise perks, and that implies that there is a strict and limited meta. Each time I tried some fun, "outsider" build, even if I did play very well, I very rarely had more than 2 kills, and tbh, it's often a huge 0 kill (well, with 8 hooks, but anyway, 0 kill).
BHVR has to give killers a base kit mechanic that creates a real and efficient regression.

I've had some really good games on Ormond as Myers and Doctor.
Its not a very big map for starters so Doctor gets good use of his AoE. And a lot of it centers around the main building, which is good for stealth killers.
It's more or less symmetrical, so you have the main building in the middle, two open areas either side, and then narrow-ish paths between the sides on the outer edges. As Killer, you can easily pressure one side of the map to get a 3 gen, and the gen in the main building is fairly easy to defend too.
Yeah I see, more or less what I said about resemblance between AutoHeaven and Ormond. As a killer, you have to base a strategy about defending a certain side.
The problem is that a lot of survivors will ""accept"" to take a hit to go on the other side and loop you there, and the others will do a gen on the side you want to defend and the strategy is sinking.
But hey, if you have good games on Ormond, hope it won't change dude :)
-
It's better than before, pallets are slightly less unsafe, and there are less of it.
But yeah, gens locations are a real pain, it's a map where you have to make your chases decisions around gen, you have to outposition survivors. Make them have to go where you want by coming from a certain angle, ..... It will help you a lot. it's the same strategy you have to use in AutoHeaven, the version where there is two sides of the map, with a way linking the two sides. It's the same, but way harder :p
@Seraphor said:
I've never had an issue with this map as killer, in fact I think it's one of the better ones...
And we'll, no, Ormond is far from being one of the best maps... For Nurse or Huntress, maybe, but for other M1 without mobility killers, this map is survivor sided as hell.
-
Yeah, sometimes you don't know where he is because of indoor map, walls, or whatever, then you hear it laughing he's f*cked and you get away.
Maybe reducing the frequency. I admit I remember him less talkative during the PTB, maybe a bug, maybe wanted, or maybe it's just me having bad memories :/
-
Anyway it needs to get buffed. Okay it's a hardcore mode perk, we agree about that, so it has not to be powerful, but it has to be appealing.
Let's be honest, why would you play No Mither while you can just decide not to heal all the game and run a good fourth perk instead of No Mither (like, We're gonna live together, if you want BP).
It has in some way to give good effects.
- Keep the blood coagulation, it's good,
- I don't know about the grunts reduction, like, it has not to override Iron Will, so maybe keep the current grunts reduction value.
- Remove the "you can up yourself", it's so terrible, no one will get value of that unless the killer is rank 20... This is where a good effect/bonus has to be. Imo it has to be an effect that will help a bit the surv in chase. Something that will reward the survivor if he's a good looper, but that won't compensate an entire health state (if a survivor is far better at surviving with No Mither than a survivor without it, it's an issue...), like, for every time you win a chase, you are granted a +7% haste effect for 16 seconds, I don't know, it can be anything.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/238959/ds-nerf-results
EXACTLY. DS was both supposed to be Anti-Tunnel perk, and limited protection for a survivor. The DS nerf basically makes it USELESS. Here are situations.
- KILLER ASSUMES survivor has DS: Im just going to slug and wait it out.
- KILLER pick ups survivor with DS : At least he has no DS anymore.
- KILLER sees survivor on BBQ chili working on GEN : im going to tunnel the fvck out of him.
How about on survivor side.
- Its DO OR DIE situation. either you do an objective or lose LIMITED protection.
Even in the OLD DS, KILLER does the same thing. so i dont see the reason DS needs a nerf. Decisive Strike is a good meta for survivor perk. Just like UNDYING, RUIN, BBQ and CHILI.
Didn't see the problem with old DS ? Man have you ever meet a 4SWF Unbreakable/DS ? And, just one guy with that combo can make the game. Old DS allowed survivors to be productive and to waste the killer's time.
As a killer, you see someone working on a gen ? You HAVE to down this guy. You're picking him up ? Got DS'd. You're letting him on the ground ? 1 time over 3 he has Unbreakable, and didn't require anyone else to up him, he can finish the gen. He didn't have Unbreakable ? Well, someone will come, sure, they will work on the gen, you'll probably lose it. And the time you used to come to the gen, down the survivor, this is a time where you couldn't go anywhere, letting other survivors doing gen. Just for free, no skill. This is called a game breaking mechanic.
I hate and hated that use of DS (same for instant unhook, and grab him, and during the animation, you're like "... Sh*t"), but I have to admit that this nerf completely changed the way killers are playing.
Because there aren't obsession anymore, or it's rare. Because they know that even if there is an obsession, it's probably just one or two people running it, or you just have to end what you were doing, and then search for that surv you hooked earlier. Now you can focus on 2 survivors on the early game.
But I'm happy with that change, DS is perfect as an anti-tunneling. And that's why it has to be base kit, because you can't abuse it, and having to equip a perk to play a game longer than 2 minutes isn't healthy. I don't want to use DS as a survivor. But Tunnelling has to be punished base kit. And DS would increase that timer or make usable twice (so if you're tunnelled af, you can stun him twice).

DS is a perfectly balanced perk now. Why not just run it?
Because if you have to use a perk if you hope to survive more than 1:30 means that there is a problem.
I agree DS is perfectly balanced now, there was some horrible abuses before, and I hated it as a killer.
But now, killers are playing like big a*shole, the solo queue is terrible, you're being tunnelled and that's all, every game. If a perk is a must have to play a common game, it's not healthy, it means there is a problem. The last games I had was the baddest game on DbD I've ever had, trust me.
Even as a killer main, I'm starting to think that the current DS should be base kit...
-
Tunnelling must be punished as hell, real tunnelling. Like you're being unhooked and the killer is on you. DS has to last longer, so you can loop him a very long time and get your DS on his face. Anyway, on the paper if you're not tunnelled but still have DS, you're useless for your team, so let's make DS a super effective anti tunnelling perk.
Or you make it 70/80/90 (and I'd like 100/110/120 tbh, tunnelling is killing games), or you make it if you're being chased while DS is active, the time stops. And if you're downed, the timer stops if the killer is within 16 meters radius.
I think the current DS is effective and can only be used as an anti tunnelling tool, so this has to be base kit, as it can't be abused in games, and DS would buff this.

You surely don't want the game to become like GTA5, do you? :D I understand how it can punish the honest gamer by eating up their resources, but it can't just be a free-for-all either...
Never played GTA x)
But, like, there are bypasses man, we're on PC, if a dude wants to cheat, he will, and there is nothing we can do about it.
But hey, maybe the presence of the anti cheat that can ban you is enough to prevent more people than usual to cheat, maybe you're right.
-
Killers gameplay would be so much healthier if survivors have more objectives. If surv have more objectives, killers have it too, because they have to prevent survivors to do these objectives, so it add time to the game.
-
It's just impossible to counter cheating. If a cheater wants to cheat, he will find a way. That's why the anti cheat program is just annoying as it is eating my computer resources.
Just delete Easy-Anticheat.
-
Man why everyone is saying "doing bones" is the way to counter NOED, it's so wrong.
If any survivor immediately cleanses a totem when he sees one, there will probably be at the end one or two totems that are extremely well hidden, making NOED powerful as hell.
You want to be prepared to NOED ? Don't cleanse dull totems, and always remember where they are. If there is NOED, go to these dull totems you saw, you will probably find NOED.
-
The game has to offer two modes :
- Quick Game, working with the current Rank system.
- Competitive Game, working with the MMR system.
I'm playing DbD in casual mode, I was a competitive StarCraft 2 player, but the tryhard it requires made me quit the game. If the unique matchmaking is competitive I'll leave the game, and this is the same for a lot of players.

Damn you BHVR why you always make random totem hex is easily predicted. Renew your code of random totem spawn, do you have a good engineer or BHVR just lazy to make a better coding..... -_-
Totems locations are predictable because players learned where they could spawn.
You can do the better totem spawn locations, people will just learn where are the spawn places. There is no solution to that. OR you rework Hexes, OR you let them as they are.
-
I'm just going to copy paste what I wrote in one of the PTB feedback posts :
"Seems they didn't learn anything from the last update.
Listen to feedback ? Nah, sounds garbage to them.
They're absolute stubborn grandmaster level and "we know what is good for you".
We see the path that BHVR is taking : Twins bad design, then terrible mid chapter (only balance changes were pretty good and the maps (well, I won't talk about The Game and the Fourty Pallets), but hell all the bugs we had and UI/animation...), and then the Trickster, not a problem, but here again : listening to the community ? Overrated.
They'd just heard that Trickster is underpowered, that's all. "
Plus, I'd like to add, the Trickster changes are anything but buffs. These are quality life changes. It won't make him stronger.

It doesn't say that in the description
It's a game mechanic : you CAN'T see the killer's aura if he's undetectable, no matter what.
-
The problem is you have, as a killer, to spend two minutes to break walls at the beginning of the match, or you'll lose your first two chases because of breakable walls. That is not a good game design imo. It's not broken (wow so funny), it's not OP, or underrated/overrated, it's just a bad design.
-
I had in a game the following while I was hooked :
- I saw a Urban Evasion Claudette going to the opposite direction of my hook on the map to SelfCare WHILE suffering from Sloppy Butcher ,
- And a Meg that was just under my eyes but didn't know that she has to unhook people (after game I saw she was rank 20 (delicious matchmaking)) ,
- And the last surv, a Felix, were being chased for ages by the Doctor.
I died on my first hook, struggling to the end. This was the most stressful and anxious making game I've ever had.

Being rank 1-2 and not getting killers that are above rank 4 is normal, at least for me.
Getting rank 9 and 13s in your team of survivors when ur playing solo ... is completely messed up and demoralizing.
However... the vice-versa can happen as well. This is a screenshot from a couple of days ago.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RUQ15LJ8OYZY/untitled.png
Matchmaking is broken, what a surprise. I could've taken more screenshots like this, but I didn't bother.
I've farmed with the other 2 that escaped, hence why they have such high scores. The game ended really fast
------
Then again, looks like you developed a burnout and some frustration.
I would recommend taking a break, at least a couple of days and try your luck again.
Also yeah, Que times for survivor right now are terrible. I feel your pain.
So I'm not the only rank 1 killer to get 7-16 survivors, happy to see that, I often feel bad after a game... oh and, are you a Billy main ? It's more rare than gold in red ranks !
And, yep, my games when I play survivor are also "garbage", urban evasion players to the opposite side of my hook, self-care while suffering Sloppy,... That's pretty rude to 3 gen run a killer and to die on the first hook because... No reason ?
Just take a break, as they say : "just play another game" :p you'll be fine after a little break

I honestly don't understand this logic. Spirit can't see the survivor when she is phasing. She also can't hear the survivor if they aren't injured or if they're running Iron Will. Have you played with Spirit and gotten 4ks right off the bat? I'm 200 hrs into the game and a rank 4 Spirit and I still get run by good survivors. I'm honestly not trying to insult you or other survivors, but every time I see a 'nerf this or that killer' post it all devolves down to them not wanting to get better at playing against the killer, just wanting the game to be easier.
I've worked at getting better with Spirit, making reads and learning loops, discovering consistencies with how survivors try to exit certain tiles. Go watch some vids on how to play against Spirit and RUN IRON WILL!
I'm sorry but have to stop you right now xD you're talking to me like I am a main survivor AND never play Spirit. I did play Spirit because I wanted to change killer gameplay and see what does the Spirit in game by myself, I did see A LOT of videos of Spirit players AND survivor versus Spirit. I know exactly how it works. Plus, I'm a solid killer main, I'm not crying 100% of my time to say "pls nerf dis killer its broken".
You can't hear survivors but you see scratch marks and you see if grass is moving. Yes, sure, there isn't every time grass, I agree, and good survivors will avoid touching grass, but there, you have a doubt ? Stop phasing, you're near them, you gained a lot of distance over them. And if the survivor is injured the survivor is done. Iron will ? 95% of spirit players run Stridor, that completely counters Iron Will. Good Spirits know how to play around Iron Will, this is a habit, this is training.
And, coming back to "when the survivor is not injured it's difficult", zone out the survivor somewhere it would be hard to avoid your lunge. When survivors are not injured, you have to zone out and get closer, don't try to be greedy and get a post-phasing hit. Same for Iron Will if you haven't Stridor.
-
It came for the frustration from playing against Stridor Spirit.
There isn't any feedback for survivors when Spirit is phasing and you have clearly no idea of where she is while doing it.
She's not OP in any way, the problem lies in the fact that to counter her in chases, you have to play more or less random and pray that it will work. If you're downed, it's not (entirely) your fault, it's not due to your lack of skill or mistakes.
I hope you know what I mean by saying that. As I said sooner in another spirit post, playing versus Spirit feels like playing versus Nurse who doesn't rise her hand and doesn't make any sound while using her power. Suddenly the Spirit is in front of you, you couldn't avoid that, and you're hit/downed. :/
But no, sure Spirit is not OP, she's fine, really, but survivors have nothing to play around to make chases longer :/

I know their gonna brutally murder the exhaustion one because survivors can't live without their exhaustion perks for 90 seconds. It's a anti dead hard.
90 seconds is way too long, it's just "you won't be able no matter what to use your exhaustion perk". 10 seconds would be nice for a yellow add-on, 20 for green, and 30 for purple, and why not start from brown rarity to green for these add-ons.
The max exhaustion an add-on or a perk would apply has to be 40s max, like you just used your exhaustion perk, and these add-ons have not to be on each killer or everyone will use Sprint Burst.
-
Survivors :
- Spine Chill
- Sprint Burst
- Resilience
- Fixated
- Window of Opportunity
- Vigil
- Bond
- Object of Obsession
- Desperate Measures
- Kindred
Killers :
- Chili BBQ
- Devour Hope
- Undying
- Retribution
- Haunted Grounds
- Ruin
- Sloppy Butcher
- Discord
- Pop Goes the Weasel
- Trail of Torments

I play Spirit when I play Killer (trying to, it's not as easy to master her as everyone says for me anyways). When I go against Spirit as a survivor I don't find her as bad as everyone says. Sure, she keeps you on your toes, but Wraith doesn't make much noise either when he's floating around invisible. I find the Killers who have one-shot capabilities more annoying (like Hag with Devour Hope. Or ranged one shotting Huntress with Iri-heads). Nurse when she can blink through walls and even up a floor.
Try playing Spirit in the Game after a few drinks. I bump into stuff all the time using Yamaoka's power lol.
Some people are saying she's bad seriously ? Almost every killers main put the Spirit as the second strongest killer in the game.
Good Spirit mains end their chases in 15-20 seconds.
-
She just needs somewhat of a feedback during the chase. Whatever it is, it has to be shown if the Spirit is phasing. Her power is fine, because she's 110%, it has to be strong enough. The problem is that survivors have to make decisions based on nothing.
Imagine Nurse that wouldn't make any sound when charging a blink, without rising her hand, but suddenly she's in front of you, and you take the hit. It would be unfair, and imo, it's the current state of the Spirit. "Just guess" to counter, aka "just make anything random and pray Spirit makes mistakes".
-
And uh please, I don't want to face only SWF if I'm good, I play DbD casually, not sweaty or competitive.
MMR will be the reason why many player would leave the game. For survivors it's a problem because they would see almost only top tier killers like Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, Oni... It will be boring as hell.
And for killers, yeah, only SWF, and if you're really good, you'll meet tournament teams where you CAN'T win (or maybe 1 game over 5).
Ranks are good, not always legit, but it is good.
Or, make "Rank game" and "Competitive game" modes. With that, casual players will continue to enjoy the game as it is, and players who want to excel, as a killer, or as a survivor, will overperform without receiving "such a tryharder" things like that. I'm even going to make a poll eh
EDIT : my bad, there isn't the Poll option in the Feedback and Suggestion, and nobody goes in the "Poll" section so... :/

She is my 2nd main. I know how to play her. When I use her I'm fighting the blink mechanics more than the survivors.
The reason you 4k 90% of your games as Nurse is because most survivors are potatoes who only know how to loop pallets. Pallets don't work against the Nurse. Heaven forbid they adapt for once.
Don't think I only meet potatoes since I'm rank 1 for ages :p
"Fighting" as you say blinks mechanic is the thing that allows you, as a player, to always improve when you player her, I love that, and blinks are sometimes bugged (blinking above is pretty bugged, even if I think it's more than human misunderstanding, otherwise I'm confident while saying blinking is somewhat consistant), but now I know how to play her I know where I have to be cautious while blinking, it's a matter of experience.
But hey
She's bugged uh ? Why does every experienced killer say she's the strongest killer in the game ? Why do OhTofu and SupaAlf 4k with Nurse every game ? Tell me ?

A power that works only 50% of the time is balanced? Her power was balanced BEFORE her rework. Ever since they gave her a cd her power barely works. That's why she has the lowest pick rate. I don't like the CD but I can live with that provided the blinks worked when I used them. As of now her blinks don't work so her power is not balanced.
If you say that, it means you never tried to main her (not play her for 3 days, I mean, play her for an entire month at least). Every serious Nurse main would 4k at least 90% of their games. She's fine, I had a hard time to learn how to play her, now I can literally manage the survivors hooks for them while winning at the same time.

I don't ever BM the killer myself unless I see them start it themselves. You show me respect then I'll respect you it's as simple as that. Funny to say about a game where you have someone trying to kill you but thats beside the point. I just don't understand that mindset at all for either side. You play x side then screw x side. That mentality is what divides this game so much. People who only main one side tend to just hold this huge grudge against the other like man c'mon it's a game. We play them to enjoy but you want to go out of your way to be a jack off to others.
All of that comes from a lack of empathy toward the other side/players.

You dont seem like have 4K every match, sorry for not believing you. SWF teams are strong, i can confirm that as killer but they all are not good. I saw so little teams really did good. And when i see one surv using key, i am just tunnelling and destroying him. And plus i am using mori. So after second hook 100% death. Keys need nerf, i mean when surv uses key only last 2 survs have to escape. If they all are alive only one surv can escape, like that nerfs. But you talking like remove keys. And for that i will repeat "Get Good"
Don't believe me I don't care.
I never said to remove keys. They have to be reworked. I already did a thread about them.

It's crazy how much things are wrong in this posts.
1) There is more than Bubba who can destroy pallet with power : Oni, Blight, Demogorgon, Wraith (Serpent), Hillbilly, and technically Nurse. Oh and a good Pyramid Head WILL touch you if you touch a pallet.
2) Heyyy do you know you can pallet stun him during his chainsaw ? Yup, it's hard, but if it wasn't hard, this killer would be crap as hell. And it's cool when there is tech like that so you can improve as a survivor.
3) Yeah it's obvious I would come with that but... Find Windows. During your game, when you are doing generator, you have to exactly know where to go before he comes to you, if he comes.
4) End game is when he's almost unstoppable because there is no pallets left to gain time (it happens in the middle game too if someone is dropping them like an idiot, and there you will absolutely lose if the Bubba is not a complete potato), this is where you have to be careful.
5) Before he was absolutely garbage, do you really want to make it back to that state ???
6) Every killer has situations where they shine. He is an anti-loop killer and a punishing one. You have to gain distance on him, you have to find windows, and if you're good without being a god, 2/5 of your pallet drops will stun him, you REALLY want that stun !
7) maybe the most important part I think. You absolutely need him to hit you before the window is blocked : slow vault, time it that he can't chainsaw you, but sure he can hit you. You'll get the speed boost to go in another loop with brand new windows !
When the Bubba is not a facecamper, I love to go against him, it's not just dropping pallet when you can't loop, it's dropping pallet at a precise moment. It's a killer that's making you as a survivor a better looper.

It's the back side of the cycle. Most Killers reached that point after being bullied themselves.
So true.
OhTofu did a video about that if I'm not wrong.
Beginner killers will tunnel or face camp because they don't know how it feels for the survivors, so the survivors of these games will be super angry, and BM the next killers until they move on. So these killers will BM the next survivors, ........
Oh and, I started with "Beginner killers", killers are not 100% of the time the origin of that, there also are survivors (same for killers) that just don't care about the other side, and do everything to BM this side. Fools are everywhere, they don't need a reason to annoy everyone.
Just try to not feed this cycle, be as respectful as possible.

Well, my idea is to have a thing where you can block out what killer you can't play against for that reason. I hope that makes sense. I hope this idea could possibly be taken into consideration to help others in the community.
Please don't tell me "Just dc" I would but I don't want to deal with the dc penalty or lose my rank or pips and I feel like a lot of people would find this useful.

Well, I think I'm good since I 4K every match, SWF or not, rank 1 or not. I just hard lose when it's a key game.
When you're talking about SWF that will win whatever you are doing, it's Tournament Teams, and these are 1% of the players, if less than that.
I'm talking about not so solid SWF but they with prove thyself and coms, they will get at least 3 gen done, making 2 survivors gone in the best case for you, as a killer.
And when I think about it, your arguments are nothing more that "git gud", "SWF will destroy you anyway" (so there is something broken anyway about SWF), and "it doesn't happen as often as you said", on that I'll answer "Yes, it happens to me frequently, and these loss are as legit as old iri Mori wins".

Just had a match as Trapper in Red Ranks. Had already killed one survivor, with one gen remaining. I had a three gen going on Ironworks of Misery. One person finds key and escapes, I find the hatch and close it, other two survivors are already on the gate and leave before I can even walk there. How is this fair?
Man you have a problem with random keys used by random players ?
You'll be out of yourself when you'll meet 4SWF keys + map offering + hatch location offering.
I hate keys, I'm convinced that they need a rework that would make planned hatch escape impossible, but knowing that finding a random key is based on luck AND the survivor has to find hatch after that, trust me it is not common.
But hell, teams with everything to escape together by hatch ? Disgusting, really, you can't do anything.

I'm sorry, but to know how to counter Nurse, or you have 2500+ hours in the game as a survivor, or one day you were/are a Nurse main.
Nurse is strong. Hell yeah she's strong, and probably the strongest killer in the game. But she has a lot of counter plays. As a survivor, there are situations where you never want to be facing a Nurse. Play Nurse, and you'll know the tricks and tips to make your chases long enough to win. When you played her long enough, you know exactly how much distance a Nurse is charging, and by seeing where she's looking at, you can juke her. And yes, in the open, she WILL catch you. Search for loops with high wall and trees, these are quite commons and allow you to do a lot of mindgames by breaking LoS.
But Spirit, it's just a matter of having the habit to evaluate distance while hearing survivors or beating Iron Will. And in the survivor PoV, you make "random" plays, you wait a little, then vault, maybe vault again if you want, there is not mind game, there is only 50/50, alea jacta est, maybe I'll die, maybe I'll live, but it's not your skill that is making your fate as a survivor. And this is a problem. You can't blame yourself for playing badly. You just... took the hit. That's it.
I hate Spirit as a survivor, it's... So random. It's uninteresting as fck :/

1. Is a little weird that survivors now have spooky skull fetishes just hanging around
2. Killer doesn't have time to look around for totems because its 1v4.
3. Would be largely RNG depending on the killer's build. Imagine having all 4 perks disappear because one survivor decided to bring this.
4. Would encourage selfish soloQ players to wait around doing nothing.
Everything is said there.

Or you know instead of crying like a little 5yr old you could get actually win by killing them. Isnt that the killers job? Survivors bring keys because they can escape/survive with them. SURVIVOR
No you can't :)

No they don't. Bring Franklin's. You are welcome.
Not working, just another survivor can pick up the item. You're welcome.

Get good and stop crying about keys. You talking like every game survs escaping with key + hatch.
GET GOOD or STOP PLAY
Happens a lot in red ranks where SWF teams are, with keyS, hatch location offering, map offering, and the classic bunch of meta perks that counter slug (which is the only way to beat keys teams). One week ago I had 5 keys game in a row. On 15 games, I have on average I'd say 5 keys games. Or I'm unlucky, or the only rank 1-2 survivors are SWF key players.
I don't want to sweat just for getting "Entity Displeased". I'm a rank 1 Nurse for months, I think I got good, you can keep your "GET GOOD" caps lock.

I was answering to...
Hatch itself is the bigger issue, not keys. "Oh, I'm the last survivor! Guess I get out for free!"
Actually you can just slug the last person if you want the 4k if you think you deserve it. It's a little bit randomised, so on average, you'll get hatch before surv gets it 50% of the time.
Hatch for the last survivor is not a problem I think. Immunity on hatch is a problem, you can bad manners the s**t out of the killer because he can't do anything, he should be able to grab the survivor.
Keys are a problem in red ranks, where a big majority of 4SWF squads is bringing keys, hatch location offering, map offering, etc (I wrote that above). The game is done before it starts. There is everything to make you lose, Prove Thyself to be efficient, DS, Unbreakable, Dead Hard (I don't have any problem with DH, it just makes 2/3 of your chases longer, but you don't have the time). If they are playing to win, you will have at least 2-3 survivors, or they are bad and you kill 2 people at 3 gen, in short they are not efficient and playing smart.

And what about..Oh, I didn't kill anyone when EGC starts and now I'm going to facecamp a surv to death because I want a kill
Uh when EGC starts, and you downed a survivor, patrolling around the hook is literally your only objective as killer, are you yellow rank killer to say that ? x)

I don't know what to tell you. I mostly play killer role. Either tunneling or Franklin's work well for me. You could also slug them until all 4 are down. They can't use the key while slugged. I haven't lost a survivor to hatch via key in a few months. You just have to keep it in mind, and play around it to achieve the outcome you desire.
Also, to be fair you said "no counter to keys" to which I named a few. Just trying to help you, Honestly
Well, if just tunneling worked, that means that you got a solo key player, or complete potatoes team.
You kill someone ? The others would get the key, complete gens until hatch spawns, and then escape because hatch location offering. It's literally impossible to 4K (always happens when I try adept).

True protection hits only trigger after protecting injured survivors.
Try with WGLF, same result.
I learn things everyday, even after 850 hours in the game. I checked it, and yeah, my apologies.
Protection hits only trigger when hit by a killer carrying a survivor, or when hit by a killer chasing an injured survivor.

Is this a question of "how is it used" or "how do you use it"?
If the first, you take three hits for other survivors. Can be M1 attacks, hatchets, corrupt purge, chainsaws, etc. After taking three hits for other survivors you will have a permanent borrowed time as long as you are injured.
If the second, I would like to try to save MoM until the endgame so I can commit to the exit gates or take hits for injured players running to the gate. MoM is also the best counter to Rancor and NOED as long as you are already injured. If I don't make it to the endgame, then I'll use both Dead Hard and MoM to have an incredibly lengthy chase, allowing my teammates to heal, save, do gens, etc.
It's also a good combo with Breakout for the stacking ! It's a perk I'd like to have, so I patiently wait for it to appear in the Shrine.
I think bringing a medkit, and Dead Hard/Breakout/Vigil/Mettle of Man would be pretty good ! Maybe replace Vigil with Borrowed Time.

Important thing to note, the survivor you're protecting has to be injured.
And if think this is wrong ! The perk's text says "After triggering 3 protection hits" but nothing is said about an injured survivor to protect.
