Mount Ormond Resort

This map is single handedly making me want to stop playing killer, and because that's all I enjoy playing, the game. It's so unbelievably one-sided for survivors, I call into question any dev that signed off on this maps release as a map designer. This is not even close to what balancing looks like. It's a square with gens so far apart no killer can realistically pressure any of them but two while pressuring survivors for downs. It's nearly impossible to 3 gen this map due to it's design.

You can literally loop a killer from corner of the map to corner. Once that tiles window is burned you can proceed to throw the pallet, and off to the next corner of the map. Once those are exhausted you now have the obstacle course of the house of windows and pallets exhibit in the middle of the map. Don't believe me? Queue up as a killer and burn the Mount Ormond Offering. Unless you get absolute potato's at red ranks, you're lucky to down the first survivor before 3 gens are done.

I would like an honest answer from the developers that looked at this design, played it, and gave it the go ahead. You either main survivor and are incredibly biased, or you don't play the maps you design.

  • I've never had an issue with this map as killer, in fact I think it's one of the better ones...

  • It's better than before, pallets are slightly less unsafe, and there are less of it.

But yeah, gens locations are a real pain, it's a map where you have to make your chases decisions around gen, you have to outposition survivors. Make them have to go where you want by coming from a certain angle, ..... It will help you a lot. it's the same strategy you have to use in AutoHeaven, the version where there is two sides of the map, with a way linking the two sides. It's the same, but way harder :p

And we'll, no, Ormond is far from being one of the best maps... For Nurse or Huntress, maybe, but for other M1 without mobility killers, this map is survivor sided as hell.

I've had some really good games on Ormond as Myers and Doctor.

Its not a very big map for starters so Doctor gets good use of his AoE. And a lot of it centers around the main building, which is good for stealth killers.

It's more or less symmetrical, so you have the main building in the middle, two open areas either side, and then narrow-ish paths between the sides on the outer edges. As Killer, you can easily pressure one side of the map to get a 3 gen, and the gen in the main building is fairly easy to defend too.

Yeah I see, more or less what I said about resemblance between AutoHeaven and Ormond. As a killer, you have to base a strategy about defending a certain side.

The problem is that a lot of survivors will ""accept"" to take a hit to go on the other side and loop you there, and the others will do a gen on the side you want to defend and the strategy is sinking.

But hey, if you have good games on Ormond, hope it won't change dude :)

  • how can you hate ormond? its one of the most balanced maps in the game:

blendettes cant hide, the loops on the map arent the strongest, the house isnt an infinite.. etc.

generators arent impossible to find, shack is next to an exit gate, you dont get as much pressured on ormond as you do on other maps

  • The map is killer sided. Barely any obstacles so killers can see survivors across the map, if leatherface or oni survivors are pretty ######### and yeah.
