i got to rank 1 ONLY playing solo queue. i remember i got stuck at rank 7 too but i kept pushing through and eventually got to rank 1.
-
the only thing trickster is good at is stopping basic pallet loops.

Doesn't matter, theres 4 survivors in a game. As long as people keep playing like you in low ranks, I'll keep winning. And it won't even be due to NoED. It'll be because of some other hex perk thats just as effective, or some other mechanic thats just as effective. Even more so if survivors keep coming up with excuses as to not do an objective. As survivor sided as this game is, players who play like you actually help keep it balanced. NoED is only 1 guaranteed kill at the end of a match....and honestly....in the amount of time it takes to activate....if you need it to activate you've already lost the match. On the same token....we have survivors like the OP who get wiped by it. Mostly because survivors are always goofin ass around the map not doing anything....
Up until Red Ranks....I never see survivors cumulatively doing objectives.....NEVER.... You always have 1 guy who gets caught out. One guy who's off by himself....digging through a toolbox while there is a clear and present threat to the completion of the game. One guy who's setting up to get the hook save. And one guy who's STILL CONTEMPLATING WHICH GEN HE SHOULD START DOING AFTER HE'S PASSED AT LEAST 3! With teams like that you were gonna lose with or without NoED due to stupidity alone. Again, against a competent set of SoloQ red rank survivors NoED is a joke, and only guarantees you 1 hook after it procs. Which tells me, that if it has become a threat by that time as in enough to get a 4k it doesn't matter. Your team was gonna get wiped regardless. 3 Minutes of cleansing Totems, plus 6 minutes of doing all 5 generators ASSUMING YOU'RE THE ONLY SURVIVOR EVEN PLAYING.
If you split that up between 4 survivors, and you're all ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING, thats 100 seconds of generator repairs each, and 45 seconds of Totem time each. Thats 2 and a half minutes roughly of doing objectives EACH SURVIVOR PER GAME WITHOUT INCLUDING TOOLBOXES OR ANY GEN RUSH PERKS......
Again....if your team can't afford that kind of time per player, you were gonna lose anyway because of the Jake running around in circles or the Neon colored Feng Min choosing to just not hide....giving the killer one less idiot on the field to deal with making all the other survivors jobs harder.
What gets me about survivors....is the fact that a lot of them think they're doing it right.....when they usually just set themselves up for failure. Like I don't even know why I play killer, survivors do the best job of killing themselves without my help. Up until Red Ranks where they actually grow brains.....
im starting to think that this is a bait

so much about the new character i was gonna unlock

im always like: come on man whyd you have to make yourself 1 shot all game

I'm terrible at survivor...like completely trash. But I've been running small game even before the buff and never had an issue with any totems let alone NoED. So what I wanna know is....how can a terrible survivor like myself handle it.....but you can't? Also mind you....I ONLY DO SOLO Q. So while you can sit up and say, "Well, its not meant to stop NoED" (which it is btw) Theres still an entire slew of other hexes it can counter as well. Again, just because YOU choose to fail doesn't make something too strong. YOU just chose to fail. You get 4 perk slots to put into your kit as a survivor plus an item....if you can't run builds that set you up for success and to be prepared for the situations you're weak against then its your fault. If you don't know all the hex spawns, carry something that will help you. If you don't like wasting your own stash of items, get a perk that will show you chests, if you don't like being downed right after a hook, carry DS, if you're constantly making saves within the terror radius of a killer bring Borrowed Time, if you can't rely on your team mates to heal you, bring a med kit or self care, if you constantly find yourself healing team mates, bring botany. If you constantly find yourself with team mates that don't have communication or you're always ending up on the first hook, bring Dark Sense or Kindred. Like theres soooo many tools you can use. You choosing not to use them but instead complain is nothing but your own fault when you fail.
So, same thing I said to the OP....don't listen to any advice I just gave, as a killer main I prefer you to fail......Easy prey, is easy prey.
thats over 3 minutes of not doing generators or helping teammates. dealing with noed is probably the better solution, and that is saying something. theres more bad arguments in here than i care to point out
BTW, do you know how slim the chances of us getting matched together are?

Idk its been fairly common for me maybe im unlucky but green to purple (because i que with my gf who is rank 11 and thats what we get despite me being rank 1) maybe people don't trust moving into purple without it? Also have you ever kinda heard of the strategy "totem remembering"? I just if the games going pretty fast try to memorize totems as i run by them (which with its new buffs is very direct) then come back and destroy them later. Also i run inner strength so the 12 second totem for a 8 second heal which ignores the likes of sloppy is pretty good. Also after playing so long i know most likely totem spawns anyway.
noed is rare at red ranks. also, do you cleanse all 5 totems or just some totems and then try to remember the locations of the rest? i use detectives hunch and when the last gen gets done i check all of the totems that get highlighted. idk about you but id say thats a more efficient way of preventing noed
-

Dude...small game just got buffed...literally ive denied like 15 noeds in the past....20 games ive played? Funny enough knowing that you got all of the totems is very helpful. Once i see that counter go to 5 im like "that's a huge weight off my shoulder". So id suggest yad give it a try. And also the killers reaction to smacking you to realize noed never activated is halarious.
you know for sure that its highly unrealistic to expect all 5 totems to be cleansed. youre not even gonna make it to the end game if you play like that. thats like a minute of only cleansing totems and going for saves or doing generators. not to mention how long it takes to find all of the totems and get to them. small game isnt really meant to prevent noed, its there to get rid of mid game hexes. also 15 out of 20 games have noed? i have like 2 noeds in 15 games.
-
id say hes fine but his silent bell addon is really annoying. like i know that dbd is a horror game but i dont want to get a literal heart attack
-
this is one of my favorite perks. definitely a 4/5. the perk tells you that the killer has nurses calling or barbecue and chilli or any other aura reading perks/addons for that matter. it has infinite uses. now, the aura reveal every 30 seconds can screw you over if you are the last survivor but the information you get is worth it. it tells you if the killer is coming your way and it tells you if ghostface is in his stealth mode. seriously, when i used this perk against a ghostface he couldnt get a single expose because i would just keep revealing him. the perk also told me to watch out when i was working on generators so you get a lot of time to prepare. its a solid perk that discourages immerse gameplay. it really taught me how to man up and not be worried so much.
p.s. nurses calling soaks up 2 distortion tokens and it doesnt even hide the person that is healing you.
-
sounds like a decent rework but i have a better one:
you start with 3 or 4 tokens. each token soaks up killer effects (for example the killer hits you with sloppy butcher, a mangled addon, the effects of a perk like deliverance or for the people, and all other status effects except for exposed. the status effect doesnt count but it uses a token).
does not stack with no mither
tokens can only be regained by escaping a chase and not entering another one for 15 seconds afterwards.

@ThePolice said:
I’m pretty sure nurse is English, no?
her backstory isnt so clear and it says anglo-american on the wiki so its hard to tell
-
stbfl sounds good on huntress but it really isnt. the perk encourages not using her power.
-
soldiers puttee is a decent addon. when you run out of hatchets at a loop you become a 115 killer which means you wont have to stop at a locker in the middle of a chase. i think the addon should be rare instead of ultra rare.
-
i can see this working considering it fits his character a lot more. however they would need to find a way to make his power good enough to at least be in B tier

Re: tip 1, don't dodge lobbies. Queue times are long and cosmetics don't say anything about a player's skill. Just play the game and have fun.
Re: tip 2, 32 seconds for 1 teammate is no less efficient than 16 seconds for 2 teammates, assuming the killer doesn't interrupt you in the second half of the heal. This is especially true if those 2 teammates hop on a gen right after because of the coop penalty; you actually save time if one uses Self Care while the other hops on a gen. Self Care is a fine perk. People just misuse it by running to the corner of the map to heal every time they get injured.
Re: tip 4, I don't think anyone does this on purpose unless they have a very good reason (i.e. they're on death hook and their teammates haven't been hooked twice). In solo queue it's often just hard to know where teammates are. Bringing Bond is a fair tip, but it can't be assumed a player even has it and they might want to branch out and try other builds. It pays to just be vigilant when you're on a gen.
self care is a great perk, its just that it gets mis used a lot. helps when your teammate didnt finish your heal and youre 99d or you have a lot of time to self care. queue times are pretty much instant in the morning. i know, cosmetics equal skill but come on, EVERY default claudette is a blendette.
-
realistically speaking, youre not gonna be able to cleanse 5 totems in solo queue without special perks. youre not even going to make it to the end game if you play like that. i dont like the insurance policy design of the perk. it kills half of the perk adrenaline cuz the extra health state doesnt matter. nothing tells you that the killer doesnt have the perk, so you can spend all game looking for totems just to find out that he didnt even have it. also doing 4 totems is the equivalent of doing 0 totems. doing really good but then getting struck by noed and facecamped feels like a robbery.
-
for yourself it would either be unbreakable or tenacity. tenacity works well on its own considering you can crawl super fast and you can recover while doing it. if your teammates are halfway good they pick you up. unbreakable allows you to fully get up but only once. still a really strong perk nonetheless
for teammates: wglf, this perk has turned so many games around for me. that quick heal can come in clutch.
-
try perks like a aftercare or bond. they will tell you what your teammates are doing.
but my best tip is:
dodge lobbies with players that have default cosmetics, i know that cosmetics dont necessarily mean skill but you generally shouldnt expect much from a default meg or claudette.
tip 2: dont use self care, seriously this perk screws your team over so hard. the heal takes 32 seconds which means you wasted half a gen. even worse if the killer has nurses calling or sloppy butcher. as a new player you'll be loving self care and trust me when i say i couldnt stop using this perk for 50 hours.
tip 3: git gud. i know this isnt a straight forward tip but try watching ussylis videos and observe what they are doing. for example, how to mindgame a loop, what to do in certain situations and so on.
tip 4: while in a chase, dont lead the killer to gens that are being worked on. i know its tempting to lose the killer and make someone else take agro but youve got to know that youre only harming your team. the best way to avoid those situations is with perks like bond.
tip 5: dont always use the meta perks. perks like dead hard or sprint burst make you depend on them too much. try good perks that help your team like we'll make it or detectives hunch for finding hexes.
tip 6: play different characters and change up cosmetics. playing with the same character and the same perks will eventually lead to a burnout which will make you perform a million times worse. try playing different characters.
tip 7: dont waste good pallet loops. dont camp pallets like shack pallet, cow tree pallet, and many more long loops. you wasting those resources early on in the game will come back to bite your team in the ass later. seriously, theres been so many times where every pallet on the map is gone because a teammate didnt use them properly.
A lot of the time playing good can only take you so far because of bad teammates but these are my tips on how to perform better in solo queue.
-
i really wish you got points for succeeding the skill checks. survival is already hard enough to max out

I even used Object against a Pig and Myers while they were stealthing and knew I had to watch out.
yeah, the perk sounds bad against stealth killers but its the complete opposite
-
its such a fun perk. the killer usually wont go for you anyway so the 30 aura isnt that hindering. this perk is so strong against ghostface. if you cant see his aura youll know that you should watch out. i remember today i was versing a ghostface and his nurses calling literally backfired. i got teabagged and smacked on the hook but honestly thats kind of understandable. he legit didnt get a single expose just because of this perk. this perk is generally good against all killers because it keeps you informed with whats going on and it exposes aura reading perks, certain addons. overall, new object is 4/5 even for solo queue
-
play ace or tapp with iron will. even with stridor theyre almost completely silent.
OR
if you want a direct counter: iron will and no mither. i know this is a terrible counter but its the most you can do
-
ill give you one reason why she isnt going to be the new killer:
-
considering bill is a licensed character he cant really have any cosmetics. its a miracle this rift was about him to begin with.
-
it could really be anything. the only thing we know is that its gonna be a killer from resident evil.
-
i reckon huntress is wet for myers
-
there is a reason ds/unbreakable is meta. i know having to waste an entire perk slot just to be able to play the game is boring, but its the most you can do
-

Oh cool. Another "punish defending the hook" thread
you clearly dont know what it feels like to get unhooked in the killers face and pay for your teammates action
-
hes boring and terrifying at the same time. boring because his power isnt anything exciting and terrifying because you never know when a loop is trapped. i know his power isnt good but it feels like a robbery when it works against you. unless youre on an indoor map hes gonna be a pain in the ass

3 games?
You mean 1 BBQ killer game?
i mostly play survivor so i average about 20k.
-
wow thank you. saved me about 3 games worth of grinding
-
just give us basekit kindred
-
all i care about is the chapter being re related. they can give us big tiddy vampire lady for all i care
-
play legion with survivor pudding and barbecue and chilli. 90k bloodpoints per game my guy.
BUT
if you want to grind as a survivor then use wglf, bond, bt, and prove thyself. usually youll get 40-50k bp
-
id say the perk just needs to increase totem cleansing speeds to 100%. i know this sounds broken but are you really going to expect people to spend 10 years on totems?
-
ive never played demogorgon but from what i see id say he takes more skill than most killers.
-
okay HOW THE HELL DID I KNOW? i legit expected an exact image like this
-
you are that 1 person in the universe that thinks small game is op
-
spamming snares at a loop was a really cheap tactic. his snares are still good anyway, you can place them at lets say the shack which means you will get notified when a survivor steps in them
-
i honestly love the daylight aesthetic. its just so nice to look at and it helps my mood. something about old coldwind was just really unsatisfying to look at
-
now i know that she takes a lot of skill to play but come on how do you expect me to survive against a 7k hour red rank nurse in solo queue?
-
it means doing all of the generators in a short amount of time. the actual definition of gen rushing is a lot more complicated
-
billy. his power doesnt make you feel robbed like spirits.
-
ikr. i always get a finger cramp if i play dbd for like 2 hours. this is definitely one of the better changes
-
thats why stridor is meta on spirit
-
im a survivor main but ill tell you what i think of it anyway. being able to know if the killer has barbecue, nurses or any other aura reading perks/addons for that matter is really powerful. if you are the obsession youll know where the killer is every 30 seconds. the killer can also see your aura but most of the time theyre chasing someone so that isnt a huge issue. i do like how they added that 6% bonus speed when the killer sees you which gives you slightly more time to finish a gen if youre doing one
-

well, if nobody will bring ds because there always is an obsession then they will tunnel every match
but before if there was no obsession then they would know that they can chase off hook without the risk of the survivor getting away. its definitely still going to be a thing but less frequent (not by much but its something)

why? can victor not see scratch marks?
