  • Well, I play as Killer as Survivor, and their gameplay are different.

It is a bit simple to say that playing survivor is only to repair gen. The fun part of the surv' gameplay is to outplay the killer. I play survivor to loop the killer, or find fun or useful builds as there is a lot of perks.

It is an oversight in balance. There is a hindered status effect applied to them, but it way too weak to affect them in anyway.

They should either heavily buff it or rebalance how his power interacts with survivors.

In other words, currently... it works as intended, but makes his power weaker than it should be.

Also, don't get me wrong not want to. offend anyone here, but I really want to ask this question.

Why do French people keep using that argument for not knowing other languages? I see a lot of FR guys doing it.

I'm Polish as an example, English is nowhere near similar to Slavic languages in terms of its structure. I'm pretty sure major part of this community doesn't come from English only speaking countries either.

Sorry, it bothered me so much over these years, had to ask it.

Well, as a French too, I can tell you why it is used as an excuse : our teachers are bad as hell, the pedagogy of our schools and universities are outdated, and, cherry on top, a lot of French don't know how to speak their own native language so ...

Iridiscent shards still cause problems tho, like people afk farming as killer it's annoying, boring and it's not even bannable 😑

It's bannable, there is an option in the in game report system, plus the brand new auto ban, if 3 surv' of more report the dude, he's ban.

  • Oh, and, she has a low pick rate because she's hard af to learn, but she's the strongest killer in the game, as @Freddy96 said. She doesn't need any kind of buff

Well, as I said, I'm not very experienced as Trickster but I did just play a game as him using the methods I suggested. First time playing Killer today so I'm not warmed up and made some mistakes but in the end, I still got 2/4 Survivors versing a two to three man SWF group with minimal Perks (Level 12 Trickster) and I would suggest playing from Level 1 myself anyway, more challenging that way, gain more experience using a Killer and their power rather than relying so heavily on Perks. So if OP is looking for a starting point he can start there and work out a better method, at the very least, he'll get profit while doing it. Feel free to offer your own suggestions if you like though.

The video below is of that game. You can analyze what both I and the Survivors are doing throughout. I know I definitely didn't pressure gens but that's currently what it feels like playing Trickster. It requires so much time and focus with his ability that you just don't have much time for anything else. That's why I suggested lowering the blade hit amount.

    https://youtu.be/90O_G9IqwgU

Where he can shine, Huntress or Plague outshine him.

Playing M1 ? Just play Trapper or Wraith....

  • Well, nobody plays him because he's so weak. His only good point is his short terror radius, but that's all... His main event is so much weaker than oni's blood fury, but he can keep it for later.

His power do the same job of the Huntress' hatchets but takes longer (same with Plague).

So um yes, he's never played. My bad, because I really like his design, laughing and character, but hey, guess I'll stick with my good ol' Nurse :')

Seriously, fix him. There is D-Tier, and Trickster-Tier....

The diffrence between DS and Mine is that, unless you're trying to break a gen during a chase, it won't save the survivor.

Honestly if you have the time to kick a gen, you're not in a hurry. And if it's for a Pop Goes, the 5 sec stun won't prevent the -25% to happen.

Blast mine is definitely not a problem. A Repressed Alliance (which is never used) would be more painful than it. Almost nobody will run Blast Mine after a week.

If that's what you got from my post, then perhaps you should think a little longer before responding.

What you ask is exactly a perk that let the killer tunneling whenever he wants to... What's you're asking is something that would negate the DS effect, effect that is to counter tunnelling.

She's OK to play at but she doesn't have any wow addons, the faster recharge and longer distances are ok but other than that her purple addons barely change the game if not a little

And yeah her iri addons are the biggest joke their just #########,

There should be an addon that adds an extra blink without big downsides to it

The green anti fatigue add-on plus the wooden horse is also a good combo ! The plaid is a super add-on to start with the Nurse. The range, recharge, and fatigue add-ons are everything she needs tbh.

About an add-on that would give an extra blink without downside, it would be broken as hell. With the three blinks, even if you can't blink through objects, you can destroy survivors super easily, trust me.

She's fine as it is, maybe rework a few of her add-ons (3-4), but she's perfect as she is right now : if you know how to play her, you'll get 4K every game.

  • So basically you're asking for a perk that lets you tunnel for free for the entire game ? Oh damn, if it happens the surv' games would be horrible as hell

  • I up that, it's way too long to have all the perks for a character....

  • @ReviveTime said:

    Her addons are bad

She has a low pick rate

And she's just bad to play right now

I'm really devoted to play nurse but she really needs a rework or atleast some addon buffs cause rn her addons are a complete joke

Heyy, so, you're basically saying that, if you meet a nurse as survivor, you can loop her for days ?

EDIT : you can do some good combo with her add-ons, and 2-3 or them make her really broken. But you are right about her iri add-ons, 50% of her purple add-ons, the nit-comb, and the bracelet. Otherwise, other add-ons are okay to God tier, every killer's add-ons don't have to be super useful.

  • @GoshJosh said:

At the very least it should be after damaging the generator.

Actually it robbs you 5 seconds of a time already disposable if you can kick a gen... You want to kick it with Pop ? Not a problem, it won't prevent you from pop-ing it. Remember that the survivor has to work 52.8 seconds on a gen, to place a mine that would buy only 5 seconds to his team, IN THE CASE where the killer kicks the gen under the poor 45 seconds after putting the mine. It's meme and a fun perk for survivors, not a useful perk...

    @bowo said:

i think blast mine is fine as is. it might be more in your face, but i find it weaker than repressed alliance

... And Repressed alliance is only 40 seconds working on gen, to block it for 30 seconds, actively countering Pop.

But yeah, "bad design", blast mine is so op...........

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX90A4W020o&t=1s

Here the person with the ping is the killer and has a ping of around 300.When the killer hits the hit, actually survivor's position is behind the pallet.but the ping the killer has gives him advantage and the survivor teleports back.I cannot see the server. I see a game referencing the killer screen.

I don't care man about what you see in this video, server referencing has been put in the game for several months, you can tell me this is killer's refering, this is not the case, and that video is old, maybe a game that happened before the change.

EDIT : on the video you just posted in your answer. But the video you posted in the main message of the topic, it's after the change for sure. Anyway, the game isn't perfect, but I can say for sure and without a doubt that the game takes as reference the server.

  • Would it be awesome if survivors could change between different animations ? I mean, this would make everyone happy nope ?

Like, for each prestige, you get a new linked set of animations for the character.

You open your head and look if there is a brain in it, first of all. This problem is something that has been around for a long time.Everybody knows the game is referencing the killer's screen. Has a system that does not reference the killer screen in very rare casesThey will move the game to the server and this problem will be over.

They already "solve" this problem by using the server as reference. You're wrong by saying the killer's screen is the reference, proof : cancel grabs. If the killer's screen is the reference for the game, the killer should ALWAYS grab if he has the situation. But cancel grabs happen a lot.

And please, don't insult others, especially if you're misinformed.

  • To be honest Nurse doesn't need a nerf, or a rework. She's fine as it is. She has counterplays, even if it demands to the survivor to be very aware about what is the Nurse doing, and to know how much a Nurse needs to charge to go somewhere. With these two things, and a map allowing to break LoS, you can mind game her.

It is true that at some point a very good Nurse will at least get 3K each game. BUT, this isn't because the Nurse is so damn good, carrying the player. It is because the player learned her mechanics AND learned how to force survivor to be in a spot where she can land a hit. It's not only point and blink. You really have to choose where you want to land your first blink to outposition the surv.

I'm a main Nurse, and yeah, as you said, the skill ceiling is damn high, I lost every game during one entire month. Now it's been a year that I play her, and even if my blink are chirurgical accurate, it's not rare that I'm outplayed if the survivor is very good. To outplay the Nurse, you have to be as good as her in the game.

Because both spirit and nurse both don’t have any effective counterplay

I don’t have to play nurse to know how broken she is

If you think Spirit is the same as Nurse as being non counter-able, you're so wrong and you never played effectively with Nurse. I'm main Nurse, and as a survivor, facing Nurse is what I love the most in the game. It's interactive, and you have to actively looking for things to break LoS and be unpredictable.

    Nurse has counterplays, being :

    • Never run in the open
    • & Always know how much she charges to know how much distance she will gain
    • & Always know where she's looking at to know in what direction she will blink. With these two points you know exactly where she will land, helping you to choose a path.
    • Finally, break line of sight at all cost.

Sure, it's not always like that all the time, and some maps (Midwich, for example), can make these things almost impossible to do. But these maps are a minority, and there are some maps that, if you're playing very smart, are a real hell for the Nurse (for example Lerry or Hawkins).

She has counterplays, because she gives survivors feedback to play with.

Don't compare her with Spirit, who doesn't give any form of feedback at all to survivors. Play her a long time and you'll know her weakness. That's all. She's strong sure, but not unstoppable.

  • The main problem with Coup de Grâce is it consumes a charge if you lunge, even if it wasn't a longer lunge .....

  • You really did a second post about Open-Handed ? Wow, just, wow.

16m+16m, 32m range from the hook.

That's a spherical range of 64m diameter centered on the hook, right?

it is showing your aura to everyone if you're under that radius AND the hooked surv is the Kindred user.

To add to this, even if the hooked survivor is not a Kindred user, another survivor who has Kindred can see the killer's aura.

    it isn't map wide

The minimum size of the elements called "tiles" that make up a map is 16mx16m.

Can you imagine how many pallets, windows, loops, and jungle gyms a 64m diameter sphere would contain?

    That's a wide range.

Leave the hook, do your killer's job : kill the surv that are doing gen.

    Again.

It is the right play to guard the unhook to progress the sacrifice phase when necessary.

Oh yes, you're talking about diameter, my apologies.

But you're not playing aaall around the hooked surv ! Generally survivors are running in a straight line to the opposite direction of the hook ! So we're actually talking about a radius, not diameter, as you're not chasing around the hook :)

And yeah, you're true about protecting your hook sometimes, and that is another thing, and I think it's good to have an actual counter to that situation. And even it is (or would be ?) a counter to this situation, you're not that far from the hook, you're under 16 meters from the hook, you won't really chase, you're protecting : taking a hit if you can, but you're more actively trying to keep surv far from the hook, and in that situation you have at 3 survivors occupied just to unhook : the hooked, and the two surv that you're keeping away from. Or it is the end game post gen, and yeah, this perk is a counter, and, my bad, a situation has to be countered in some ways, or it is the early/mid game and it's a situation working for you.

  • The current DS has to be base kit, and DS making it activate again after being hooked.

How am I suppose to see anyone who is further than 5m away from me? Scratchmarks are no help. you just stop running and you are gone. And no intelligent survivor will run parallel to the corn. The only direction you can see on this map.

On the old Rotten Fields you could see at least something.

PS: There are 2 people on the gen right in front of me btw.

Oh yes, another Nurse worrying about that disastrous change

    You have my up dude

Whilst I appreciate the feedback, I have to say...I'm sad we're at the stage where we judge the strength of something by whether or not there's a 4k involved. 4k is supposed to be rare and 2/3k's the normal.

Everything is said here, and I agree.

4K is a total domination of a killer upon survivors, a demonstration of a skill gap.

Be happy if you have an average of 2-3K, Trickster is jealous.

  • @Uotsumi said:

It doesn't stack with itself. The potential caps at 32

    32m is the radius.

When Open Handed and Kindred are combined, the range to reveal the killer's aura is a 64 meter diameter sphere.

it usually only hurts you for as long as you actively guard the unhook.

No, it's not limited to that. That's why I said "excessive".

Also, sacrificing/killing the survivor is important for the killer to win the match.

This is because in 1vs4 situation, the Survivor side has the advantage.

Therefore, it is the right play to guard the unhook to progress the sacrifice phase when necessary.

Okay so, you're a bit lost my good sir. Or totally ignorant, or a bit lost. I prefer to think you're a bit lost.

Kindred shows the killer's aura up to 16m.

Open handed increases aura reading range by 16m. DOES NOT STACK (it can be two survivors or more with Open Handed, it would only increase by 16m only once).

So, two perks just for showing the killer (if he's not a stealth killer or with undetectable) up to 32m from the hooked surv, and it is showing your aura to everyone if you're under that radius AND the hooked surv is the Kindred user.

32m is, as @Laluzi said, just the standard terror radius. It's quite huge, but it isn't map wide. Sure it provides a lot of information, but it's not game breaking. Leave the hook, do your killer's job : kill the surv that are doing gen.

  • Tbh it's just a super powerful perk if you proxy camp the Kindred user, else yon don't care about this.

  • @Mandy said:

We are going to monitor feedback around the changes made in the patch today, and the designers will look into the feedback surrounding Lucky Break.

Please be careful of what you're doing with Lucky Break, escape for free from your chases is not healthy. :/

Nurse is already a big victim of this buff, and as a Nurse you can't really do anything about it

  • Gonna copy/paste what I wrote in a similar post :

45 seconds is still suffisant to lose the killer during your first chase. The objective of this perk when you have it, is to be hit somewhere you can easily break LoS, so, thanks to Lucky Break and the speed boost, the killer won't be able to retrieve you. This is how you play it, by doing this, you would need in the best case 10 seconds to completely lose the killer.

Each time I used it, I managed to hide from the killer, and get away from the first chase. This perk is a time-waster single use if you can heal yourself after that.

If this perk offers to survivors multiple free chase-escape, it would be game breaking, as it was during the PTB.

A single use perk is not always a bad or a niche perk, there is Unbreakable, Deliverance, DS, Adrenaline,... Lucky Break is slightly less powerful than these perks, but the fact that you're wasting the killer's time during your first chase is huge, and that is more true if you're the first chased, plus doing a long chase : the first hook must be quite fast if the killer wants a good game.

  • @jester20k said:

Ds in its current form should:

    1) work on both hook states and

    2) be default, not a perk

You have to use up a perk slot just in case the killer is a douche? How about no.

As DS is right now, I'd like it to be base kit, as you said, if a survivor needs to run a perk to play a game longer than 1 minute just in case of some cancer killers, there is a problem. Also it wouldn't be game breaking as uh well, it is disabled for anything that advances the game.

And DS would improve this base kit mechanic, by improving the stun, or the timer, or making it active a second time after hooked, I don't know, there is a plenty of ways to do this.

I may be a killer main, I still think the current DS has to be basekit, as it can't be abused in any way.

  • @Seraphor said:

Nah. Leave it the same as it is. Being the same colour as the gen allows survivors a counter to the perk. 'Masking' your aura is a legit technique.

You can examine the shape of the aura to see if you think there's a 'lump' that shouldn't be there. Or you can take something like Thrilling Tremors.

    +1.

There are not always a locker near a gen, I think this is an interesting counter to BBQ (and not a real counter, I would call it a "tech", and techs are a good thing).

  • Lucky Break/Iron Will is totally busted. After taking a hit, with the speed boost, you can definitely lose the killer for free.

It's not a counterplay to Stridor Spirit, as she can hear you anyway, but it is a total counter to Nurse. You are slower, one error and you definitely don't know where the survivor is.

Or yes, us killers can use Stridor every game. But I don't think it is healthy for the killer's gameplay and meta.

Tbh, I won't play killer after that buff, play survivor and use Lucky Break Iron Will to completely disgust killers. If people that didn't try it are saying "it's a fair perk", I'll make them change their opinion by using it

  • @Laluzi said:

You can do hook trades just fine if you bait it and the killer isn't running STBFL. Start to unhook, cancel, the grab turns into a basic attack, unhook for real while they're on cooldown. The majority of perks don't give such a huge advantage for no effort.

Look at the other Exhaustion perks. They all have some stipulation before they can be activated that reduces their usefulness, making them all viable alternatives to each other.

Sprint Burst can't be saved unless you waste time walking all over the place.

Lithe needs a window or pallet vault.

Balanced Landing needs a high enough drop (and some maps such as Shelter Woods have none at all, except the basement stairs).

Smash Hit requires a successful pallet stun.

Dead Hard can be activated on will to save yourself after making a mistake. That's pure second chance in a nutshell, and can be used multiple times per game. At least DS and Unbreakable are single use only.

Sprint burst being a lost of time if you keep it ? The recent buff Fixated permits to be extremely efficient with Sprint Burst and Vigil, it's my main build and I often use twice SB in chases, and I rarely keep my SB when I search gens because I know I'll retrieve it fast. "Yeah but an entire build around a perk is a bad thing", no, because you'll be extremely good at it, and in the case of SB, it lets you run to gen faster, and to escape the killer, go away from a dead zone, etc... Sprint Burst is a better perk than DH because of its multi usage. Also, with SB and Fixated, you can walk quite fast, and leave a gen without making any scratch marks.

Dead Hard seems more powerful than the other Exhaustion Perks because it robs you a hit in front of your eyes, when you have already been looped for a while, when you are in the mind of "gg, got you", then DH.

The other exhaustion perks come when you begin a chase or in a middle of a chase, so you don't have this frustration, but the value is the same : extend the chase.

Personally, as a killer, I'm more afraid of a good SB user than any DH user, because being efficient with SB mean you're managing yourself very well, you know the game.

DH is frustrating, but is in a good spot.

Yes, i know. My point was that you cant compare agitation with boil over.

Oh yes, okay, my apologies. :x

  • @Akito said:

you cant make this perk good. Increasing the aura reading range wouldnt do that much, but if you increase the range way too much it can become a bit too strong if you combine it with other perks like break out, saboteur and what ever. So ye

I mean this perk isn't really about wiggling free it's more like making you a hard time.

So I would like to see a 100% increase of the wiggle effects.

Every 4 seconds you receive a skill check (DS sized). Hitting it will make the killer having the stun animation.

He's not stunned obv, but he has this camera movement up and down.

Just an idea. Definetely not the best but at least you would feel sth on both ends. And maybe it actually would increase the time the killer needs to hook you. Which is always good. Everytime a Killer has someone in his grasp I'm hoping that it takes a while.

But yea. We could also get rit of it affecting the grasp and instead doing sth completely different.

Tbh that would be a great change, survivor side it would be fun to see the killer taking every little things from the environment, and killer side, this perk would apply a little pressure that would make you hook the surv the fastest possible. I like this

  • I don't like the fact you have to stay near of the obsession to have the effect, or it will go away quite fast. Dark Devotion is in a pretty good spot, not the best perk, but you can use it efficiently.

  • @TicTac said:

Bc it would be a really strong effect even if you could only escape every fifth time.

Agitation is not bad, but you will almost every time reach a hook without agitation.

Agitation saves you time, these times when you have to hook fast someone or the gen will be done, with agitation you can go to the nearest hook of the gen you want to patrol (which sometimes is impossible because slightly too far) faster.

Every seconds does count, evey perks that saves the killer's time is a good perk.

Let's define once for all that the term "hitboxes" is wrong. Characters don't have "hitboxes", they have "capsule colliders" that "trigger" the hit registration from an invisible "cone" positioned in front of the killer. If these capsule colliders are inside the range of that "cone", you get hit, it doesn't matter how far you think you are from YOUR perspective, or if you think you dropped the pallet at the right time. You get hit. Period. Multiplayer games has something called "latency" that changes according to many factors. From your perspective "it looks like" you're far away from the killer, but not from "server" perspective that has the "authority" to decide if you got hit or not. In DbD, in order to have a decent gameplay experience, you need to work out your loops in order to gain distance, trying to mindgame the killer and other small tecniques that you learn with experience.

With that said, i don't say DbD is a fair game, because if you have to take in account "your perspective", "server perspective" and "killer perspective", to judge if you need to drop a pallet or vault a window, the game is designed with feet and not with a fully functional brain. But i already said many times what devs should do to fix this problem (i'm a full time dev too), but not only they won't listen, they're so arrogant to state that the game is fine like it is.

One time a moderator told me "if you think you can do better apply for a job". You tell solutions and you get salty answers back. XD

We agree that the game is designed with feet, it seems to be an horrible spaghetti code, when I see all the things that are broken by changing non related things.

Edit : Modest people that are capable of hearing others and learn from others are rarest with time.

This bug is getting worse day by day.

Every single match it happens 4, 5 times.

It's being really a pain, unfun and frustrating to play her.

It can easily costs you a win if it happens in a really bad moment, and you can't do anything about it...
