  • None of those Perks can be reliably activated. They are not sufficient counters.

I would say i play about 40% killer (depends on whos online and the daytime). Since they raised the pip treshold i am stuck in the purple ranks.

I guess i could enter the red ranks, but i would have to adjust my playstyle to much. In the purple ranks i can play whatever killer i like, even the concidered weak killers (Trapper, Wraith, Legion, Plague)and still have a solid game.

I hate camping, tunneling and stuff like that and I see it often with red rank killers, but in my humble opinion you do not deserve the rank if you have to stick to it.

It is not fun for the survivor who get picked out of the game early and it i guess it cant be fun for the killer either.

(This is only a reply to the second half of your post)

That is your opinion though. It is your right to dislike camping and tunnelling and find them unfun, but it is not your right to assume that because you personally dislike them, all other Killers do too (you do that with your last sentence).

What is fun or isn't fun is entirely subjective.

My point remains that I do understand the reasoning for the Killer's statement on why he felt the need to camp and why I disagree with you, that it's just a "sad excuse".

  • I'm loving the irony of this.

Survivors get rewarded for bad play all the time and it's totally fine.

But as soon as Killers get that, Survivors flip their #########.

Skillchecks are client side, Killers can't affect it with lag.

Also gentapping is the worst method, its still faster to work through Ruin hitting the good skillchecks as long as you don't get that many.

It also prevents you from learning great skillchecks, as long as you don't have the reaction time and muscle memory of a corpse its not that hard. It counters Ruin without even needing a perk.

Also more BP, thats always nice.

Some people will never learn to hit Great Skill Checks consistently and it has nothing to do with muscle memory or any of that.

Repair Skill Checks are too slow for me and I have a hard time hitting Great ones (I love Stake Out). Healing and Sabotage Skill Checks rotate considerably faster and those I hit almost consistently.

  • Could it be that you play very few Killer games, if any, in red ranks?

A considerable number of Killer players feel forced to camp when 3 gens pop by the time they down the first Survivor. Most Survivors, and especially high ranked ones and even more especially SWF ones, are almost suicidally altruistic and thanks to that, camping can often lead to getting more sacrifices, which is the Killer's sole objective, than would have been the case in a "chase-down-hook-leave-find-chase-down-hook-leave-etc." game due to how little time Killers have to fulfil their objective.

I, for my part, understand the likely reasoning behind the statement of that Killer.

  • gg is very rarely used to indicate that you enjoyed a well-played, fair game. Most people use it when they demolished the other side, so I don't bother at all with it.

  • The original post is the best joke ever.

If you want to be a sweaty try-hard and abuse this scenario of a situation then yeah.

That is exactly what the vast majority of the community did back when the devs still showed the top props of the month. Not a single top prop Killer was an actual Killer in any definition of the word, they all were, without fail, known farmers.

I feel like this would mostly just be used by SWF groups to props each other and get a massive amount of points. Outside of that, I can see people asking each other for props after the match.

We would like to do something more with props in the future, but we don't have any solid plans for them right now. If you've got ideas, we'd love to hear them.

I have serious doubts that you guys can think of anything that won't be abused or misused. I'm sorry, but the track record does not speak for BHVR in that regard. Our community can't have "nice" things.

I suggest simply removing that obsolete mechanic.

  • Skill Checks are a Survivor thing, not a Killer thing.

  • Why should you be entitled to an escape in that scenario? You guys underperformed and paid the price for it.

@TheAngryPickle Some maps the Killer gets lucky and there are 2 exit gates with a clear line of site between them and only a few good strides away. Best abused with Nurse / Billy of cause but other fast Killers with speed mods such as Wraith it works too (have tested this myself)

But not Bubba. He's too slow to be a threat to two Survivors on their respective exit gate switch at the same time.

As i said... developers can already be working on something else with this addon, also we don't know how exactly will stalk mechanic work when he will be out, so maybe it will be an amazing addon, all we can do at this point is to wait for beta and see.

Or I can make a suggestion of an UR Add-ons they could do. Maybe their supposed other idea is meh too.

    August - September - October - November - December - January - February - March - April - May

I know there is a lot of things on the table but 10 months passed and we still haven't seen anything.

If there are future plans, we really want to know.

    10 months, how sweet...

The devs originally discussed rank rewards for season 3. Do you know when season 3 took place? August to September 2016.

And SWF staying together in a lobby after a game which we'll supposedly finally get with dedicated servers? Here's what the devs wrote in the Patch Notes of 1.0.3, which released on 11 July 2016 (1 month after the game's launch on PC)

"Note: After playing a game, the survivor group will be automatically disbanded and all members will be returned to their single player survivor lobby. We are working on maintaining the party between games, and you can expect this to come in a follow up patch."

3 years are a long wait time for a follow-up Patch.

  • @LastShoe said:

@Shad03 For some reason its called a dev build... developers are using it to find most of the bugs and to test stuff. Many of the stuff that we know will be changed and its probably even work in progress. Feedback will be important when developers will start the beta, where players can play this and then they will be interested in a feedback.

And about this "example"... its dumb. Why? Because any logical argument can't break this. Maybe except another stupid parallel, which leads to nothing. This even have a name: Ad Hominem... a little better than name calling.

Doesn't deter me in the slightest from giving my Feedback already. That Ultra Rare is lame, not worth paying 7k Bloodpoints for, hence why I made a suggestion for something far more interesting.

  • Props have been obsolete for the past 1.5-2 years. It's another of those features that simply doesn't work with our community and never did.

The devs believed that people would give props to people they honestly enjoyed playing against (that's assuming a normal DbD trial: Killers killing, Survivors surviving). The devs then wanted to show the players with the most props on their (back then weekly) stream from time to time.

What actually happened: Killers very rarely gave any props. Survivors on the other hand gave tons of props... to farming Killers. The top 10 Killers the devs showed on their stream were without fail known farming Killers, that would rarely play any normal trials, and just farm all the time.

As with anything abusable, it got abused or used in a way the devs did not intend. After a couple of weeks of that charade, the top props were gone from the stream and the devs silently dropped the subject.

That is also why @SlinkyJinky's suggestion would NOT be a good idea at all.

  • I had the same philosophy with Laurie, never even equipped DS except for the one game I went for Adept Laurie, and even then I didn't use it (and still don't to this day).

    I have 3 children...this isn't high school math. It's elementary math.

Look, I like you @Orion I understand or agree with a lot of your comments. I'm not arguing with you, even if you think I am, or if your think I'm an idiot. It's about as important to me as it takes me to type this lat statement. (90 WPM).

Base speed for EGC is 2 minutes. Do we agree we have BOTH seen the Devs confirm this? If the survivors are not injured or hooked, once the EGC starts, it's 2 minutes maximum? Is this correct? Has anyone tested the base speed of EGC?

IF base is 2 minutes.....let's get to your 4 minutes.

    2 * 100% = 2

    2 (base) + 2 (slowed percent of 100) = 4

Which the EGC is currently 4 minutes in game, as per your testing. According to the Devs, this is NOT working as intended.

So when we say things like, "It takes twice as long"....well the twice means "doubling"...that's not correct. Twice as long means you use 100%. IF that's what's currently happening in game, I'm not disputing that.

Then people say it will take "half" as long...in that case they are subtracting the time.

This EGC is HALF as fast while a survivor is injured or hooked.

You get 3 minutes every time. If it's seconds or charges.

I work for my State Department of Transportation. This is comp time, exact same thing. We deal with it all the time. If I work 8 hours of overtime, I can convert it to comp time and take 12 hours of time off paid at base pay. Overtime, as we all know, is time and a half. My base pay PLUS half my base pay. If I worked 2 hours of overtime, I can comp it for 3 hours of time off at base pay.

I'm not saying anything about how it's currently working....I'm talking about how it SHOULD be working.

IF the base EGC timer is 2 minutes, and IF time is slowed by 50% when a survivor is injured or hooked, then the maximum amount of time the EGC SHOULD last is 3 minutes.

And that's all I have to say about that.

    1) you're comparing apples with pears, Mr State Department of Transportation guy with your comp time example, that doesn't relate to how the EGC timer calculation works and

    2) your calculation is incorrect as you make a wrong assumption. As Orion pointed out, time and speed are not related the way you think they are.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/61920/i-felt-like-2-0-0-and-2-1-0-was-the-closest-to-balance

Not balance what about killer they have vaccums also and they still didint fix it prettygoodjobsofar

The only "vacuum" Killers have is the Hook-snap animation and the only reason that still exists is because Killers did not get swivel Hooks like Survivors. The animations thus have to line up with the front of the Hook in order to play properly, which creates the "vacuum" effect. It doesn't actually let Killers hook from further way, though, the prompt only appears if you're actually in reach.

  • Those were indeed the two most balanced Patches and unlike what Survivor mains kept screaming with how the game would die, it was in its prime back then, healthier than it ever was before.

And each, time without fail, when the devs backtracked and listened to Survivors way too often, the game's health dropped significantly. Why the devs continue to ignore those stats is beyond me at this point. They do not learn from their mistakes.

EDIT: To the downvoters: I don't care that you don't like what I say here, the facts and statistics don't lie, the game was always in its prime when it was resembling balance and always in a downwards spiral when it was tipped in the Survivor's favour. That pattern is clearly visible throughout almost 3 years of Steam charts.

  • I did notice that. Time is money, you are still paying them in some way.

  • Since I'm pretty sure that if they don't nerf him pre-release, they'll probably do so after the PTB. I will not buy that DLC until I'm absolutely sure they won't gut him within the first couple of weeks if not days.

  • Regarding the wording, they probably reduced the Killer hitbox, BUT ONLY when on the stairs.

@DocOctober The soonest this change could plausibly be made is in the midchapter. Since that is the same time as the EGC any changes being made would need to take that into account and that includes this one.

So even if you aren't talking about the EGC you still need to keep in mind it's existence

Nevertheless, even if it weren't a free hatch escape anymore, it's simply wasting the Killer's time. The last Survivor has always been insta-death for that reason.

I understand OP's frustration with Deliverance to an extent, but I run that Perk too and don't complain if I don't get to use it.

Equipping a Perk with activation requirements is no guarantee of getting to use it.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

@DocOctober cuz if the Hatch is right next to the Hook then the Killer is also right next to the Hatch.

Mclean did say it was a Bug and it was going to be fixed.

It is a little suspicious that a Bug would cause new sounds that nobody has heard before conveniently places for when she phases or vaults to give warning of when she's using her power but to be honest, I don't care if it was intentional or not I just want them to fix it.

Sadly it's still in the PTB but let's hope It's gone by the time the patch comes out.

That is because it is NOT a new sound. What it is is the phase walk activation sound (which the Spirit always had for herself) layered multiple times on top of itself, greatly amplifying it. That amplified sound, for whatever weird reason thanks to DbD's spaghetti-code, can be heard by Survivors. The normal, non-layered activation sound cannot.

DbD has had a history of layered sound bugs. The most prominent examples were machine gun Hooks and Nuke Sacrifices:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eCD34F0qqI

  • As most of you know, Spirit has this new sound whenever she uses Yamayoka's Haunting (glass shattering).

It has been confirmed by a dev. Searching for it isn't that difficult.

    @Bonesy1997

I'm confused about what you're asking... each map base has an offering, and if that map base has several variants it will randomly choose one of those variants.

For example: you can offer a 'Charred Wedding Photograph' to increase your chances of being sent to Crotus Prenn Asylum, then if that is where you end up going, it will choose between the 2 Crotus map variants: 'Disturbed Ward' or 'Father Campbell's Chapel'

Are you wanting offerings to go to specific variants of a map rather than just the base map itself?

I have the suspicion that OP belongs to those that confuse Realms and Maps and do not realise that Offerings send us to Realms, not a specific Map unless the specific Realm only has one single Map the game can choose from.

  • No and it's closed anyways.

Ahhhhh. Alright, now I get it. That's for clearing that up. I completely forgot that Baker went missing when Rin appeared. Still, it's weird that his entries coincide with the cutscenes but nah, I understand now.

Thanks again for clearing that up. I feel a wee bit embarrassed.

He didn't go missing when Rin appeared, those two events are not connected.

The lack of entries has nothing to do with Benedict still being around (which he is) or not, it's simply the devs not updating their content. The Lore bits about Killers were always found in the manual on their website, which they no longer update.

It seriously took less than one page before someone tried the "but in my region..." excuse.

Stop lying. Your region isn't any different than the rest of the world. You are trying to blame your lack of ability on some SWF boogeyman in order to make yourself feel better. These stats are global, not "global except for your region of the world".

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/455856#Comment_455856

It wouldn't swing the stats that much, due to 4-man groups only being 3-5% of matches.

This data shows that the game isn't in nearly as unbalanced of a state as people on this forum try to make it out to be. It's amazing how every time the devs hand out data, it winds up dismantling a lot of the excuse making and ego stroking on these forums. This entire forum is purely confirmation bias and circle jerking, and this is exactly why you don't see a lot of the changes you want.

The changes you ask for are based on emotion, not data. It's knee-jerk reactions to having bad matches, while forgetting the multiple good matches that were had. The devs cannot take those opinions into account, as it would throw everything off. The only thing they can objectively use to balance things is hard data, not your soft ego.

I'm not just talking about 4man SWFs, the same holds true for 3man or 2man SWFs: they are suicidally altruistic most of the time and many Solo players are as well.

The statistics, as usual, lack context in how the data was obtained. Drawing conclusions from that is dangerous as they don't necessarily reflect how the game actually plays out IRL.

And another point: realise that with a 4man SWF, all slots are full, so the number of lobbies containing 4man SWFs will always be very low. Fact is that about 70 % of all in-game lobbies contain some form of SWF set-up.

  • @Rattman said:

Something happen to him at Hallowed Blight event. Entity found him.

    That's not it.

The devs have been lazy with the Killer Lore entries, they've been missing since before Hallowed Blight.

  • @Shad03 You make way too many assumptions.

Let me list some facts about the Lore:

    1) Benedict is still alive and a Survivor

    2) Benedict read Vigo's Journal (which is depicted to us with the short clips), which he found in Vigo's laboratory.

    3) Benedict wrote the Hallowed Blight Lore entries, they are from his POV.

    4) Vigo was the hooded figure in the Hallowed Blight clips. His fate is unknown, we simply know that he isn't a Survivor anymore (which doesn't mean that he's a Killer, see point 5)

    5) No Survivors turn into Killers, Survivors that have been "used up" get discarded into the Void as empty shells.

    6) Benedict's Lore entries for Killers already stopped after Curtain Call (meaning that Shattered Bloodline, which released before Hallowed Blight, was already lacking them) and we had no Event since that required his Lore entries. As for the Killer Lore, that is due to the devs no longer keeping their website up-to-date in that regard.

  • Since pretty much every time I was trying to be nice and offered my hand, and the Survivors took not just the hand, but the entire arm and body attached to it, I've stopped being nice altogether unless I'm in a unusually good mood and the remaining Survivor is obviously a newbie.

  • Why are you reciting the Wiki Articles?

  • You can't.

  • I think you forget that many SWF groups turn 0-1k games into 3-4k games with their extreme post-exit altruism.

I see that happen on a regular basis and in my games, it's usually the norm. If Survivors would just gtfo and sacrifice one of their buddies, the stats would be quite different.

  • It's not about what the devs, but what Valve wants. It's their character and if they don't want it on consoles, there's nothing the devs can do about it.

I wonder how this would play out in crossplay though, if it would be acceptable for consoles to at least get the model so that the console version can display Bill as a character if he's used by a PC player or if they'd replace his model on console with the guy they have as a stand-in on the Unbreakable Perk icon.
