  • The rumour/leak is march 23rd but thats like 4 weeks after the ptb. I'm sure they used to come out much sooner.

  • It's broken beyond belief but BHVR doesn't seem to care. It's just one more reason not to play the killers who need to rely on los breaks to get hits.

  • Almost never unless there's an archive challenge for it. Once in a blue moon I might bring a gray medkit.

I'm cheap with items. I keep saving them for a rainy day meanwhile they all get nerfed lol I should really start using up my keys.

  • but did you have fun?

  • Territorial Imperative ascends basement bubba.

I mean at least I heard it did. Never tried it myself, nope never.

  • Everybody keeps saying this. I don’t know why none of the community managers can’t just come out and say “yeah we overdid it, we will change a few things” and everyone would feel a lot better.

I’ve seen nothing but overwhelmingly negative feedback for this map.

  • This all comes down to the solo vs team mentality.

As a solo survivor you don’t want to be tunneled. It feels unfair when the killer keeps chasing you and you want the mechanic to be there to punish the killer for playing “unfair”.

If you take a step back and look at it from a wider lens, if you’re looping the killer for over 60 seconds after coming off the hook you’ve already done huge work for the team and if the rest haven’t wasted that time thats almost 3 gens worth they just got.

I imagine thats how the designers have to view it in a way. It sucks for the survivor being tunneled but sometimes you have to look at things from a detached view. The game isn’t a 1 vs 1, its an asymetrical 4 vs 1 and the 4 shouldnt be individually able to go toe-to-toe with the killer.

I do think however survivors should get more recognition for this. If you got tunneled all game but you ran that killer for 4 gens worth of time you’re the damn MVP of that game and the pip system should reflect this more.

  • The only thing you can do is bring Corrupt intervention, a paid bandaid.

all survivors jump on gens immediately, that means you have 80 seconds to find a survivor, chase them, hit them, chase them, hit them, hook them, interrupt a new survivor on a generator.

Say 15 seconds to find your first survivor, 15 for a hit, chase them, get another hit maybe 25 seconds, pick up and hook 10 seconds, thats 65 seconds, go find another survivor in a gen maybe 10 seconds, thats 75 seconds. 2 gens about to pop and the third you just interrupted about to pop too. With no regression it will stay almost finished as well. This is dead by daylight. Those times I listed were generally good times too assuming no net of safe pallets or overly safe areas for survivors.

People will tell you to split pressure but its hard when maps are so large and survivors are spread out. Which is another reason corrupt is crucial because it shrinks the playing field for 2 minutes.

I’ve had survivors down within the first 40-50 seconds which should be good but I’ve got 1 hook out of 12 while survivors have 3 gens at around 50%. Basically it’s a lot easier for survivors to do their objective than for you to do yours.

Corrupt is essential imo as it helps to reduce that huge early game advantage survivors have.

It doesn´t even require a lot of coordination. Just a Obsession thats getting chased. Everyone else will hug the gens.

All it requires is a swf or survivors with a shared goal - escaping.

The rank reset changes a while back and all the potatos in red ranks have skewed peoples perception of the game. When 4 survivors want to do the objective and get straight on with the job you better hope you’re playing Nurse or you’re in for a very bad time.

However luckily for killers the trials are full of Nea’s that wanna roleplay Indiana Jones and go raiding chests, Blendettes that wanna do recon work and scout out the map from inside bushes, and Bills that appear to wander around in circles, lost and confused in his old age. I’ve seen some survivors that actually take literal minutes to touch their first gen - not being chased btw

It will be interesting if MMR somehow works because when all the good players get put together all the glaring issues will become more apparent for some people.

  • @Kirkylad said:

Seems like a SWF issue more than gen speed honestly. SWF's on comms are just way more efficient so the gens fly.

Its also the builds. Solo survivors rarely ever bring anything with them because they know they’ll likely get potato teams and their items will go to waste.

When 3-4 man swf get together thats when they bring all the fun stuff. I regularly see teams with 3-4 toolboxes and I wonder why on Earth they feel the need to bring those. Recently it has been a combo of toolboxes, purple items, instaheals and bnps. All pretty powerful stuff when stacked especially in a swf team full of meta perks.

Basically SWF stack and co-ordinate their BS, solo survivors do not.

  • @th3 said:

Survivors bring a commodius toolbox with a brand new part and charge addons. They also are running Built to Last and Prove thyself and Streetwise. But this is definitely shows how fast gens have the potential to go.

Yeah I’ll admit you don’t normally see 4 bnp and 4 commodius, its usually a rainbow of toolboxes and 1-2 bnp and an instaheal.

However instead of taking perks like built to last and ace in the hole as Marth did, it will be dead hard, DS, unbreakable, sprint burst, adrenaline etc which can be even worse. The gens take a tiny bit longer but survivors can waste more of the killers time via perks instead. A DH for distance to a strong pallet or window is arguably more powerful than half a toolbox from built to last.

In terms of everyone just trying to hammer out the objective asap though, thats standard gameplay at high rank sometimes. Past 2 days have calmed down but the day before it was everygame, swf all bringing toolboxes and trying to multi-bnp gens or split across 4 gens and get them done asap. Once you have 3000+ hours in the game survivors stop wasting time and focus soley on the objective.

My second point is that what can killers theoretically do if they come across a team that wants to play like this? You can’t change killers anymore in lobby so you can’t switch to Nurse (probably the only killer that has any chance of beating this). Moris are nerfed now (which was fair) and ultra rare add ons have been junk ever since Demogorgan. So if I want to play Trapper, or Pig, or Wraith, or Legion.....what exactly can I bring that could combat it? I can’t think think of anything. I know people will say “git gud” but we see the same things in tournaments those killers cant really do anything other than camp and focus on a single kill. It shouldnt be possible to go into a game and not have a chance to win.

  • sounds like the swf are playing poorly for the most part.

If you play the early game safe and knock a few gens out Freddy has to sweat hard to come back

  • Behaviour was so proud of them they decided that chase music should be the only thing you hear during a chase above all other sounds.

  • Not necessarily. If you stack second chance perks and items and get a good (badly designed) map a solo survivor can waste a lot of a killers time if the killer keeps chase. There are a lot of survivors happy to try and 1vs1 killers which kind of indicates perhaps there is a balance problem because in a true 4 vs 1 game the weaker side would never be attempting to nor able to do that solo.

In general though you’re right. A lack of communication can play a big part in the game, generators can be left to regress and survivors can find themselves 3-genned.

Same for the killer, they are trash. Someone who can't perform well with demo/trapper/billy is a bad killer.

Ok my point has been proven.

Lets see you take on a second chance perk stacked swf efficient on gens with Trapper or Demo. I’ll wait.

  • As someone who has played both sides extensively I disagree. Iri head huntress needs toning down and a great Nurse still breaks the game but the rest are find.

It really all does come down to entitlement. A lot of players just want easy games. I get it, I’ve always enjoyed it too going against a Trapper, a Wraith, a Leatherface etc because there’s a lot more safety there. Pallet drop after pallet drop and the big dumb killer can’t touch you. I think the fact that the game always matches people with low rank killers for years now has made it worse, escape after escape and easy game after easy game has given people a skewed sense of balance.

I’ve even had games where I play no perks or meme builds and I go back and watch the streams of ttv players. They look so chill and relieved to find out I’m playing a low tier killer. They immediately jump on gens and by the time I’ve crossed a large map, broke a wall and a pallet or two and got 2 hits on a survivor they’ve already knocked out a gen or two. They see you forced to break ultra safe pallets where you can’t do anything and they’ll comment how good their friend is doing at looping. Survivors don’t want sweat games, they want fun games. Take a killer who can get hits at loops and some perks to slow down the game and they don’t like it, and its not because these builds are OP its because survivors are going to have to work for that victory,

Again I play both sides extensively and it really does come down to entitlement. Most of the things you mention don’t need nerfing just because survivors don’t find them fun. They disconnect because the developers cave in everytime. They should stop capitulating. How about we nerf some of the bad maps, stacked loadouts and swf that killers find op?

I mean, they could be doing bones, mapping the area, learning pallet layout for loops for when they get chased, disabling traps, healing--there's a lot that good survivors can do while another is in chase. You just usually only see extremes, and that makes for quick, frustrating games that don't live up to their full potential.

I mean, I can't disagree with the initial point of "going to loop for as long as possible," seeing as that's pretty much a given...

lol no offense but it feels like you're grasping here.

Nobody does bones hence why survivors are online everyday complaining about NOED. Nobody but rank 20's "map the area", and early game nobody needs to heal. For the most part people with thousands of hours just get on with the objective.

  • Maybe it's less an easy mode with freddy they want and its more of a hard mode with other killers they wish to avoid?

  • has to be a mistake, nothing is allowed to counter dead hard

  • I'd prefer botany. 33% guaranteed speed at all times, desperate measures is only going to top that with 3 survivors injured which should hopefully be rare

  • Yup it's powerful and requires absolutely no skill, meanwhile the same people that like to hold W petition to have bloodlust removed and Spirit and Freddy nerfed because they apparently take no skill. This is why you can't take any of their opinions seriously a lot of them are morons that don't care about balance they just want ez games.

  • Play on a controller and it's really not so bad.

  • From what I've seen most hardcore tunnelers will do it regardless of DS.

And you can also do gens as efficiently as humanly possible and get out in two minutes and thirty seconds. That's what tournaments are like. Regular dbd isn't like that. People don't maximize efficiency and aren't typically on comms. I do agree that a lot of maps are too survivor sided and need a nerf, but that's no reason to allow a killer like spirit to continue existing.

Regular DBD isn't like that? have you seen the posts here? sounds like everyone is having it.

People might not have call outs and full co-ordination but in general a survivor is going to try and loop the killer for as long as possible, and the rest are either on gens or they're not. There's no inbetween. If they're green ranks they're likely playing it safe, if they're red ranks they're very likely on gens and thus 2:30 games ARE actually common in DBD. Hence the term "genrush" and the billions of videos complaining about all 5 gens being done in 3 minutes.

  • So errr.......what was this? is that a dlc costume for the new survivor?

The ptb came out and now I'm more confused about what this was meant to be 😕

  • I've been playing since 2018 and this is by far the worst map I've ever seen. It's nothing but safe pallets and god pallets, there's no gameplay for killers. The only way you get a hit is if a survivor gets greedy or if they run into a dead end. I honestly think they should pull it from the pool for a few weeks and have some adjustments ready for the mid chapter. Remove a few god pallets, lower the safety of a few other pallets, and make sure the map flows route wise for survivors.

  • Why not camp? fast gens and bad maps leave little incentive not to. Especially on killers with weak chase but good defense.

I'm calling for only ONE nerf to ONE killer - and it's not an unreasonable one given that it appears to be the prevailing view of the community that this killer is way OP. Plus I play both, so I already have a decent picture of what the killer perspective looks like.

The community is mostly full of survivors so there's a bias there. Spirit has been nerfed already, she isn't this insane overpowered beast as people make her out to be and this has been proven time and time again. lol even in tournaments all the gens get done and spirit players have to resort to Ol' NOED to try and get the job done but ok lets keep nerfing killers despite "the community" agreeing most of them are underpowered.

Freddy is getting nerfed. Spirit will be nerfed too. These being two very popular killers. Enjoy when your survivor queue times double.

  • It changes the red stain yes. I'm colourblind too and I was pretty impressed by the mode.

Some survivor cosmetics can be hard on some maps due to blending in with the background, autohaven and dark cosmetics especially makes them harder to track during movement, but you can use reshade or nvidia filters to compensate for that, both are free.

  •  "they are survivors and they are always right."

Pretty much, and I say this as someone who has played a lot of survivor. All you need to do is take one of the low-mid tier killers against a strong swf with second chance perks and a survivor sided map and you realize how underpowered some killers are. A lot of the loops just aren't very fun to play against and survivors can waste a lot of time with relatively little skill.

  • All this crying about Spirit and yet most players still want to play survivor. Think about that. Maybe instead of demanding nerfs for more and more killers you should actually try enticing more people to play killer.

  • It was bad before the tomes, and it's still bad between tome releases.

  • @Shoottokill_Shinsou said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2009958#Comment_2009958

Tournaments aren't dbd. Regular dbd doesn't have all survivors literally genrushing as fast as humanly possible. Spirit isn't skillful because a.) All you have to do is use your ears. Not all that hard.

B.) Survivors can't do anything. They can't stop you from downing them at all. When you play spirit, it's pretty much a single player game.

C.) Her power is the second best in the game, and it takes around an hour to do well with it.

There's no such thing as "genrushing as fast as possible", great skillchecks aside gens take 80 seconds regardless of whether you're playing casual or tournament. As a survivor you're either doing gens or you're not. Considering how little else there is to do in the game if you're not a timid new player who hides at the sound of a heartbeart, and if you have no interest in raiding chests or doing totems then survivors will be on gens - just like in any tournament.

Also survivor takes no skill on some maps so I guess Spirit is perfect for the game then right? running around a wall over and over again and then hitting space to drop a pallet when the killer gets too close is hardly esports level gaming.

Exactly why i take stridor. I took it off last night on midwich, which I hate that map btw. Two out of 4 of the survivors had iron will, lucky enough they were dumb enough to not realise, yes i can still hear you running. When they skulk off walking with iron will is the problem. Cuz i cant hear or see. I played a few games last night, made it to rank 2,and after this thread, I gave less of a ######### what the survivors were thinking, i had more fun, and i even had one survivor tell me that I was a damn good spirit and one of the best he's been against, which was very uplifting 😊

I've taken Trapper with no perks and just padded jaws before and still been tbagged from the exit gates and had survivors use keys against me. There's no point caring what other people think because even if you give then the easiest build in the world they'll still be toxic and ungrateful.

  • I like to think the entity endows Huntress hatchets with the same magical dark matter that he/she endows head on hitboxes with. As long as you’re within a 5 mile radius it’s all good

  • @Sluzzy said:

Survivors nerfed tremendously and Huntress has never been touched. Billy was only broken because of a very problematic perk, BBQ. He can spam the saw and chase the auras. Huntress is overpowered now, no counterplay on many maps and her hitboxes are broken. She definitely needs more cooldowns and add-ons all nerfed.

    Huntress OP!

You are the gift that keeps on giving Sluzzy <3

  • Spirit doesn’t need a nerf. Nurse needs a full rework, not a nerf. I’d like to see something that stops her breaking the game but also makes her less of a chore to play, even when you’re winning the constant fatigue gets old. I very much doubt they will ever have the time to do that though.

Billy needed his charge time add ons nerfed as they took the skill out of him. The rest is debatable.

Huntress needs iri heads and infantry nerfed. I personally think she should keep exhaustion add ons because pressing E shouldn’t counter an amazing hatchet throw but who knows maybe they will buff her in some way. She’s never really been a massively overperforming killer. Having a slightly faster wind up speed would be nice just to compensate for how many bad maps she is getting these days.

  • @HellDescent said:

It's a lot better than it was. At least the wall can be broken now, giving you mindgame potential instead of just holding w until the window is blocked or abandoning the chase. Out of all the outdoor maps this one has a weaker main building. For example on saloon there are 3 walls you need to break

No it was better before the graphical upgrade.

A lot of maps were fixed last year and then when they didnt the graphics update they went and broke them again.

I think with storehouse the second window was closed and also the main window could spawn on the far side rather than the top side, meaning there was enough extra distance that survivors couldnt make it around

Ive seen many people complain about groaning storehouse. They likely intend for loops to be this bad (and skill-less) so why they bothered “fixing” them last year I have no idea unless it was just a temporary appeasement to killers until the Ruin nerf blew over. It’s disgusting.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2010011#Comment_2010011

They don’t take map feedback often. Haddonfield is still broken. The game still has 50 god pallets and Hawkins is still a instant loss against a decent killer

How they didnt see the issues with meat plant when designing it is beyond me. It’s unplayable. Killers cant do anything and survivors end up in dead ends.

I figure the current update came just weeks after the mid chapter and they likely didnt have enough time to put any changes in this build. I expect changes due to the overwhelmingly negative feedback in the next mid chapter, if not then I’m uninstalling and moving on because I refuse to play a map that poorly designed.

  • A lot of people keep saying it’s too dark but it seems the feedback is falling on deaf ears

  • @gendoss said:

She also can completely counter iron will making me a 3 perk survivor against her

How is that unique to Spirit? Any killer can take Stridor. The only killer that can counter iron will is Nurse since she has an add on for louder sounds.

Also its kind of a moot point. Look at Hex perks, any survivor can counter Ruin making me a 3 perk killer against them etc

  • @SilentPill said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2009970#Comment_2009970

I mean, the game has been out a long time. If you are going into games as a loopable killer you should know what can happen if you don’t take enough chase perks.

Back when god windows truly existed I literally never took bamboozle off my M1 killers. I still rarely play M1 killers without at least 2 chase perks.

It still doesn’t justify spirit though. I probably have less than 20-30 hours on her and I was consistently landing perfect phases and getting 4ks at rank 1. I can’t imagine if I spammed her all day. She’s just that easy.

Chase perks only help so much, since survivors can drop early to avoid spirit fury and some games Bamboozle never comes into play but thats still 2 perk slots you’ve had to sacrifice whereas the meta now is picking strong killers and stacking all the slowdown perks.

  • @Enlyne said:

This sounds to me less about maining spirit and more about stridor within your build, it straight up negates the only counter the survivors have against your killer.

Spirit is already good as she is, perhaps too much even, slapping stridor on is pretty much overkill , while that doesn't give anyone the right to bully, you'd better be expecting a lot of salt with that perk.

Nobody likes to wait in queue to just lose without a chance at all, that's what happens the most with that combo, and it's a problem that only happens with either stridor spirit or game-dragging forever freddy.

I take Stridor on Spirit only because if I don’t I go against 3-4 iron will users.

For a killer that can’t see and relies on sound there’s no point putting yourself at a disadvantage against silent survivors

  • All these survivors complain about little counterplay, have you ever taken a low/mid tier killer with no kind of anti-loop mechanics against good survivors stacking second chance perks through maps full of safe pallets, god pallets, god windows and spaced between hold W zones?

Survivors have no counterplay too in many scenarios yet people act like it doesn’t exist. Its why people dont enjoy using those killers at high rank.

  • @Shoottokill_Shinsou said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2007936#Comment_2007936

Spirit isn't the biggest problem with the game. That would be gen speeds. However, she does need some tweaks. Not even necessarily a nerf. Just make her more skillful so that you have to work for your downs.

How does Spirit not require skill? Plenty of spirit players have to absolutely sweat to get wins. Do you not remember when there was a tournament last year and plenty of thousands of hours tryhards all struggled to get kills with Spirit? They all often resorted to camp and NOED and even then they couldn’t get a 4k.

I think the talk of any killer not requiring skill is ridiculous when currently you don’t need any skill as survivor to win games. You can waste plenty of the killers time by holding W and using god pallets/ultra safe windows on some maps.

Thats not to say some survivors dont have skill, its just that you dont need it to win. Just abuse the most broken loops or areas of the map, hold w, get everyone to do that and sit on gens and most killers are powerless against it

  • @Yamaoka said:

The comparison is off so there's no point discussing it.

    The killer has to bring:

    - TWO perks as the KILLER (in a 1 vs 4 game) for the combo.

    - needs to break TWO pallets to activate Spirit Fury.

    - needs to get stunned (smart survivors will predrop when they know or expect you to have it)

And even then you won't get the hit if another pallet or window is near-by.

    Example (skip to 1:33)

    https://youtu.be/LvBpLKORfs4

I meant to pre drop as I knew he had it. The pallet still connected with him yet I could just vault the window behind and as you can tell by the first updated HUD this was with the de-sync issue.

This, if DH took 2 perk slots and 2 perk slots I don’t think many killers would complain.

Alas we see how killer perks require so much for one effect while the survivor equivalent requires so little

  • How is it trash exactly? You want the killer to run through your little funhouse, all your god pallets and hold W zones and you think that takes skill? It takes none.

Sometimes you need to play smart and with some killers their defense is stronger than their chase. That’s what good players do, use the strengths of their character and avoid their weaknesses.
