i've seen more than that, i've seen people saying the hatch should reopen after a minute, or if killer closes the hatch the gates should be 50% open or open faster, i've seen killers shouldn't be able to close hatch, that if killer closes the other the doors should open up automatically

I have seen people asking for moris basekit, Noed basekit, survivors only be able to recover exhaustion stopped, Sprint Burst be nerfed to not be 99ed. 3 morons asking for dumb changes is not a very good reason for you to adress survivors as entitled or even make a post wasting your time like this

WARNING, THIS POST WILL BE A LITTLE LENGTHY! SKIP TO BOTTOM TO SEE PROPOSED IDEAS (READ FULL POST TO UNDERSTAND WHERE I AM COMING FROM)

Straight off the Dead By Daylight Wiki, here you have the time it takes for survivors to complete a generator (no Ruin, no great skill checks, no toolboxes, no perks, etc.). First things first, I find the single survivor 80 secs gen time to be relatively fair, but some might find it debateable. What I think the real problem is with gens is that 2+ survivors on a gen is not slow enough. Of course the more people on a generator the faster it should be repaired, but how is it that the negative of working on a gen together is so low. I feel the game should promote the strategy of divide and conquer rather than stick together to gen rush.

When just 2 people work on a gen together, you're basically still cutting the time it takes 1 person to complete said gen in half. 4.44 extra secs are technically tacked on as a duo penalty, but that is so little of a duo penalty that there might as well not be one. With 3 or 4 people, you're basically done the generator in 30 secs. While I get the idea here is "well if they are all on one gen the other gens aren't being done", a gen usually never has 3 or 4 people on it unless it's in the very beginning of a match (which ends up just becoming a free gen completed for the survivors).

What the devs need to understand is that their survivor playerbase aren't all potatoes despite what some may say. Most survivors know to do their objective when not being chased, rather than dilly dally doing god knows what else. Survivors also know how to maximize their efficiency in gen completion for the most part, using toolboxes & perks to speed up the process even further. What they also need to understand is that they have made a majority of their killers too weak to even apply enough pressure on gens to counteract the survivors' dominance on gen completion. Their attempts recently have been killers that can teleport or traverse around the map fast enough, which does help slightly but not enough.

Yes, killers have ways to try and slow the game down (Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, Thanataphobia, PGtW, you name it), but yet again these don't always work all that much in favor of the killer. Ruin is the "savior of gen rushing" for this game, when it isn't broken within the first 30 secs of the game. All of these other perks/add-ons to slow the game down for the most part have too little of an effect or take the killer out of action to get any effect of said perk. What is worse is that when a killer is in action against survivors, chasing the survivor usually results in looping. The killer is then tasked with mindgaming & trying to outthink the survivor being chased, while all other survivors are free to do a gen without much of a worry. This is when teams, especially SWF (which seems to be a majority of the survivor playerbase), try to take advantage in double-teaming gens. A killer is not allotted enough time to complete a chase without having gens being completed. The game is now forcing killers to start playing more of a hit & run technique, in hopes the survivors just make a small mistake to capitalize on. And even then, a simple survivor mistake does not cost them the match most of the time. One small mistake from the killer and it could end up being GG.

It should be an alarming issue when there are a lot of matches that are over in under 5 mins because a killer got gen rushed while trying to do his job. And I get it, survivors who gen rush are just doing their job as well which is why I am not blaming them for the issue. But if the devs actually thought about how this is the issue of the gen rush epidemic, maybe there wouldn't be such a need to rework/buff a certain killer and wouldn't hear the killer community complaining so much. The game is meant to be stressful on all sides, not just the killer side where you're having a mental breakdown trying to keep the gens from being completed so fast. As a rank 1 survivor, I can say I feel no pressure when playing since I have so much to keep me safe from the killer at my disposal. As a rank 9 killer I contemplate quitting killer all the time, & I'm sure many other killers in the community feel the same way but choose not to because like me they have a love for this game deep down.

My proposed ideas (could apply some aspects or all, depending on how much they would impact survivor escape rates):

-The game should punish survivors more for working together. 2 survivors on a gen should be working at 75% efficiency each (150% speed total). 3 should be working at 66.7% efficiency each (200% speed total). 4 should be working at 62.5% efficiency each (250% speed total). The idea here is that while working together does complete the task at hand much faster, the work survivors do becomes cluttered and more inefficient. (Numbers & percents are flexible to change)

-The more survivors that are on a generator, the more likely of a chance to trigger skillchecks. Skill check sizes should also slightly decrease, as it is not hard at all to hit one. Skill checks should be more frequent in general, as there are times where I have done 3 generators by myself in a game and didn't even get double digit skill checks.

-The higher rank a survivor is, the more difficult skillchecks become. They should start adapting double skill checks (hitting 2+ skill checks zones on one spin cycle). The sound timing should also decrease slightly to get the survivor better with their skillcheck reactions (hence teaches them how to react faster to Hex: Huntress Lullaby in the event the killer gets that perk to even work).

-Reduce the effects that Items/Addons/Perks have on gen completion. Toolboxes should not be as powerful as they can be (specifically the Commodious Toolbox). This toolbox has no downside & is the best one, yet it is labeled as a green rarity. Toolboxes should all have 1 positive effect & 1 negative (i.e. Moderately faster repair speed, but moderately smaller skill check success zones, etc.). If the multiple survivors on a gen penalty were much harsher than it currently is, I would see no need to change the increased repair speeds that some perks grant. Brand new parts should also have much smaller success zones, as well as DS & Overcharge skillchecks (in my opinion these skill checks are so easy to hit).

-Reduce the amount of people allowed to work on generators. What I mean by this is that there should be more single person gens and less multiple open spot gens. For a basic formula usable on each map: 7 gens on a map in total, 3 of which are single person gens, 2 of which are double person gens, & 1 three person/1 four person gen. There are so many times where I see not a single 1 person gen on the entire map. In these cases I also usually see survivors doubling and even tripling all the gens while someone gets chased (causing me to break chase to try and stop them but then they run to the nearest safe loop).

Again, sorry for the length/rantiness of this post. I am just speaking my mind on the issue. Feel free to leave your thoughts & comments below. (KEEP IT NICE, NOT JUST TO ME BUT TO OTHERS WHO YOU MAY DISAGREE WITH!!!!)

I highly oppose to all these changes. Maps are the issue because the infinites and badly designed loops are what allows a bad player to loop you for 20 minutes, and the top tier killers dont have gen issues. When you look a Freddy vs swf for example, gen times aren't a problem because the killer is opressive and balanced

I'm relatively new to this game, but more and more frequently I'm becoming the target of Survive With Friends groups of players who make it their goal in life to make mine as miserable as possible for the crime of playing the Killer. Why are there no preventative measures to stop flashlight spam, generator rushing, teabagging, hookbombing, and bodyblocking? Why are players allowed to queue up with their friends for unfair communication advantages over the Killer, with absolutely no incentive to play alternatively? When are developers going to try and make the game actually enjoyable for Killers at all levels of play, instead of making it feel more like an uphill struggle the longer you stay?

Reporting has done nothing. I run into the same toxic people, sometimes even multiple times in the same day. It's genuinely discouraging, and making me regret playing the game.

    BaN tEaBaGs

Seriously, why do people take BMing so seriously in this game

I keep seeing it in my webs but it just never seems like its worth the blood points. I rather spend the bps on offerings or items. Anyone else feel the same?

If I understood that correctly, both premonition and spine chill counter undetectable. Undetectable only counters aura reading abilities and both of them don't count as aura reading perks. Does this also mean that Myers now gets countered by those two?

Also do you guys use any of them? I use spine chill a lot. Let me know down below.

Yes, myers is countered by both unfortunately

I've just been using this to maximize BP Gain to finish getting every perk on Nurse (I'm never going to play her, I just want to have all perks on all killers, so what better time to get them for the Queen of Yawns).

What are your thoughts and opinions on it?

Wraith has insane map pressure, so devour is a great pick on him. Also, dont let people tell you "you are lucky", for you to be able to consistently use a killer it takes a lot of skill

  • @Quiet_Observer said:

I'm sorry but this is getting crazy on how many survivor mains are crying that it isn't fair. Why are most (not all) survivor mains so entitled to think that every thing in the game should be catered to them. If a killer kills three of you and finds hatch and closes it before you, why should anything be added to make it easier for you to escape after this? "Gates should open faster" "Hatch should reopen after awhile" "sometimes the gates spawn to close and its easy for the killer to find me"

YOU FAILED YOUR MAIN OBJECTIVE YOU SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR IT NOT THE KILLER!

Why does it need to be easier for you to escape after failing your objective? Why do you need to be rewarded for an easier escape option? Why should the end gave with one survivor left need to be in that survivors favor? It shouldn't be in your favor and it shouldn't even be "fair" it should be in the killers favor because once again, YOU FAILED YOUR OBJECTIVE.

The only thing people ever complained was gates spawning together in the killers los, and honestly the you already lost arguement is so dumb that survivors could just say if 5 gens got popped the killer shouldnt be allowed to down anyone

  • @HighQualityDonut said:

*disclaimer i play like 90% survivor lol but its good to know both sides*

Decisive strike is an issue for most killers since it punishes them for being efficient. A killer can hook survivor A, go and do a whole chase with survivor B, hook survivor B, come back to survivor A, do a whole chase with survivor A, then get decisive striked. It really hurts killer momentum for this to happen especially since it's an easy way to keep pressure up in a very strict time management game, but I do think survivors need a perk like this in existence just for breathing room and to stop them from losing all 3 hook states in 1 minute.

But killers wouldn't need to play like this if the game wasn't such a race to get their first hook and give survivors another objective besides gens. The game is decided early on by how fast the killer can get their first hook or by how many gens the survivors can pop before the first hook. In 80 secs of the game starting, a killer can lose 3 gens. Whether it be for the killer badly patrolling or the survivor just having an extended chase, its pretty detrimental to the killer for the rest of the game, and 9/10 the killer will try to tunnel cause it's the only way to keep pressure on the survivors up.

So here is one solution, all survivors will have 50% (number can be tweaked) repair speed at the beginning of the game until the killer gets their first hook, which then the gens return to normal speed.

Identity V (the other mobile dbd like game with the cute tim burton graphics) has a game mechanic where all gens are at 50% speed for the first 3 minutes of the game.

    Thoughts?

Well I personally cant chase a person, down them, hook them and go back to a person that was previously hooked, down them and pick them within 1 minute. But hey, if you are that good you can just swallow the ds and down the person lile 5 seconds later

I'm not talking about SWF or KYF, rather the exact gamemode we have when you queue for Killer or Survivor, but WITHOUT the ranking system? It would be a better way to separate the players who are serious about playing competitively and people who are messing around, 'farming' BP or doing such that could ruin games for those competitive players?

It doesnt have a competitive one so it is only casual

really enjoying the game but a lot of things I don’t understand.

    1. what is the torch used for?
    2. when or how do i get to use the teachable perks on other characters?
    3. should I just focus on upgrading one character? Currently have lvl 13 meg.
    4. is there in game chat? I haven’t Heard anybody speak in about 10 games.

    Hey, welcome into the commumity.

First of all, the torch you are referring to is the map addon which allows its user to create a light pillar?

The teachables are perks unlocked on a characters first level 30, 35 and 40. After bought, they will appear randomly on the others bloodwebs.

Yes, you should focus on getting meg to level 40 at least, she is one of the most powerful characters perk wise and a very popular main choice. I would recommend Dwight, Bill or David King after you max her (Laurie if you are spending money in game). These characters have the best perks in game (Dwight has Bond which is a top pick for solo queue).

There is no game chat, but you can play items and perks in the pre game lobby. I am not american but I have met very friendly people that leave their discord in their bio to play together.

Finally, some advice. People will often tell you to level up Claudette and be stealthy, but I would advise you to stay away from her perks and to try as much as you can to be confrontational. Looping is very easy and intuitive on some tiles, others are more complex. I recommend watching Ayrun and Ussylis if you want to get good survivor advice.

  • @ppo8820 said:

It seems easily counter-able as long as the survivors run about and find all 5 hex totems while doing the gens, which makes me think it needs a buff of some sort.

What about when exit gates are open, all survivors immediately enter the dying state and have to self heal, like with Unbreakable. That way as killer, you get some extra time to search for the slugged bodies. Also in the slugged state, survivors shouldn’t be able to crawl out of gate, it should only be accessible to healed survivors. What do you think? Any other ideas to buff this lower tier perk?

Noed is the best killer perk in the game. People dont have time to cleanse when against a decent killer

Your claim made it sound like you often vers against all 4 Survivors having BNP, which I've literally never versed ever. But I have played 1000s of games as Survivor and Killer where not a single player uses a BNP add-on.

My claim was that unlike a survivor, a killer sees the items he is up against and when they see 4 toolboxes like I did, they can prepare better

And it apparently didn't matter cause they all sucked and there were only two of em.My point was that getting a team like that was very rare, and believe me if i screenshoted 100 games in a row as killer i doubt 1 team would have those items/addons

They popped 2 gens in 40 seconds, I just moried the claudette really quickly because het bio was mori me pussy and I didnt have an Ivory

Just don't get downed in the first place. Easy fix

How to counter bnp and commodious? Just hook survivors 4head

  • @thereals3vin said:

Is there any combat to this? Its already impossible to outrun his wild swing radius, but when he camps you just lose a survivor. I know the "just work on gens" tactic, but rather than just making the game miserable for 1 person at a time, is there actually anything I can do to beat that?

Unfortunately just leave the guy in the hook and do gens.

  • @TruffleTurtle said:

I know before the devs were having a discussion about it but was it ever decided what they would do with it? I really hope that they add it onto console. Any pc player had the chance to get it for free so I think that every person who plays dbd should get that chance. It would be nice to even add it into the shop and we would pay for it. (Though that would be unfair, its better then nothing)

I honestly think they shouldn't give it to console because it was a deathgarden divulgation

You dont always have that luxury...its a lose lose scenario

You can always tunnel a person off her hook, which is why ds became popular in the first place

I give up. I'm done with sweaty ass matches against try hard swf's and there bs coms. Uninstalled. Needed to free up space anyway. Lemme know when you fix sounds and make the game a lil more balanced around swf's. It's getting way to stressful to play as killer now, and I don't wanna play survivor, because it's a joke. Solo players and killers are SICK of tryhard swf's. Listen to the PLAYER BASE!

If they win, they are tryhards. If they lose, the game is balanced

  • @AshleyWB said:

Adrenaline gives you a full health state and 5 seconds of sprint.

I'd say that is stronger than mettle of Man which was nerfed to the ground.

I hate going up against adrenaline as a killer because it undoes the hard work you put into getting the hit, plus everyone uses it in a swf a lot of the time.

It feels cheap to use yet no-one ever makes a 'nerf adrenaline' thread.

I personally think either the speed boost effect or the heal need to be removed.

If not that then the heal should be over time like second wind, maybe 8 seconds then you get a heal.

I've lost count of how many times people have escaped to having this perk equipped.

I mean it even wakes you up, it's too useful against all killers and it's strange how no-one ever talks about it as much as nerfing killer stuff or mettle of Man.

I'm not a survivor or killer main so you can't brandish me as either of those. I play both.

A lot of survivor and killer perks are too weak/too strong/need reworks and I think adrenaline is one which needs a nerf to where the heal is over a short time rather than instant.

Adrenaline builds it doesn't all come at once, when the adrenaline is built up and it's pumping, then you can have your heal.

I would honestly prefer the survivor to have a +2% haste bonus than the sprint burst effect they get.

Adrenaline doesnt need a nerf. It is a perk that is only used if you get to the endgame, doesnt work if you are getting carried or are hooked and simply die on the hook, doesnt counter insta downs, and exhausts you for 40 seconds

Is it a killer with a high kill ratio?

Is it a killer who's power has more reward than risk?

Is it survivors getting rewarded for making many mistakes?

    Tell me

To me overperforming is an unbalanced ratio between skill and performance, like Spirit or Old Legion

For playing a while as a killer i noticed many abilities are just unfun to use and they are on the same lvl irritating as survivor having endless loop around 2 genereators.

Huntress- Hitboxes on hatchets are rly bad and when u try throw one its slows u down so if u hit that thin air on a side of wall well u getting #########. SO many times almost raged cuz of that hitboxes that i just put huntress ona bench.

Wraith- For god know why reason whenever u unstealth u stop almost in place, why ? hitting a bell and walking is to hard to put it together right ?

Spirit- fun ability in theory u have to be godskilled to use it properly and predict player movement like u would play 10k hours as well ppl go invisible for some reason what make u irritaded as ######### when u try look for scratches. And god if u dont play with pro heardset u are done u can forget u will hear anyone.

Nurse- Same as spirit super unfun ability that punish u for using it unless u spend milions of hours on game and u know exacly what distance u will go.Well if u dont u just jump once and getting stunned and then u hitting uninstal button. ppl have to lvl up nurse for one of best skills in game and i am sure most right now is just feeding her bloodpoints by playing other killers like me, i just couldnt stand this bs.

Some skills are OK-ish canibal and billy chainsaw's they fine if u dont count that 10h stun after hitting something mid skill, Pig pounce i can understand why that slow part is there.I dont have to much experience in game and thats why i decide to wrote this. Cuz i am new player and if u dont rly care of new player opinion then well as fast i started playing here i can end nothing holding me here especialy clunky unfun mechanics in skills.

So yes thats couple killers i played recently and how i feel about them if someone have other unfun killers skills to share plz write cuz i dont want step into another landmine.Thank u and i hope some devs see that.

Seriously? Are you really saying this?

Not really. Rank 8 survivor, they were just terrible as nurse.

What is this replying to exactly?

I think people like you just read this crap on the forum and parrot it back, because she really isn't the strongest killer in the game. No lunge, no move speed, no map pressure. How many nurses have you gone against since the nerf? How have you fared against them? How many streamers play her at high ranks on a regular basis? How do they do with her?

I've gone against two nurses and I easily escaped both times. Like she got one or two hooks the entire game.

Well Ayrun used her a lot on his last streams and he did perfectly fine. Also, I have gone up against a lot of Nurses and some had 5k hours in the game so I dont think the killer was the issue on your matches (maybe you are just too good of a survivor lol)

even with 1 hit ghostface, frenzy legion?

One hit ghostface is an effect applied to the survivor, not to the killer

I wish they brought the "matchmaking glitch" back, where it would show you the rank of the other survivors. I understand they might've taken it away to avoid lobby skipping and because let's face it, their matchmaking is not the best. But it would be so helpful to know who we are playing with, either to know not to rely on them as much or to try to help them or have somewhat of a knowledge on how they are most likely to react/play.

I was playing as rank 2 survivor and didn't get saved and my teammates were doing basically nothing, turns out they were rank 20.... the killer was red rank.

    Top tier matchmaking y'all.

Honestly lobby dodging should exist. Why force people to play without teamates, against moris and #########?

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 18
