  • Probably low mmr nurse players. I only play nurse and in the past i think around 2 weeks now, i only had 1 dc and it was as far as i can tell a completely unrelated dc seeing as it was in the middle of the game on a guy that hasnt been hooked yet when the game was nowhere close to being over. .

I play for the 12 kill because in all honestly I wanna show off, I play addonless slinger and no slowdown, if a team loses to me, man they have to be very bad at the game to not beat a meme killer with no advantages.

But yeah going for the 12 hook is handicapping yourself I dont think anyone will disagree on that.

Oh cmon slinger isnt a meme killer.

They did him dirty but he is still pretty ok. Specially with stbfl.

Anytime I see someone use Dead Hard effectively, I honestly cant help but compliment them. DH can be tricky to use, but when used right, it's really strong. It's a nice balance between skill, reward, and strength.

    Same.

Also power struggle. Had some one use it against me once last game and i couldnt wait for the end game chat to compliment them.

Also one survivor in the same swf had incredibly good timing with dh. Great players.

Bubba - 95% of the ones I face just camp from the get go.

There is no chill way to play blight.

You know that, in order to adequately judge if something is balanced, or "braindead", you have to play it from both sides, right?

For example, a few weeks ago, I claimed that camping was too strong, so I proved it by playing killer and showing video of me getting absurd success with it. I didn't make an effortless post "Hey guys I'm a survivor main who think camping is broken pls nerf" like you guys do.

Here all I see is a bunch of very obvious killer mains congratulating themselves for the nerfs, with only vague arguments like "more skilled", "my friends are able to get good value" (so you aren't then?). Clearly 90% of you haven't tried the perk from survivor perspective.

So, since you all seem to be so knowledgeable about skill and Dead Hard, especially you Dead_Harder, why not show us your gameplay? Please show me a few clips where you use the perk and mindgame the killer with it, because I definitely cannot, even after playing a good 20 hours with the new DH, the only use I can make of it is to try to spin in front of the killer then dead hard and pray that he's a console player who has no choice but to attack right away.

With a 240 Hz monitor and 160 ms reaction time on humanbenchmark.org, I can still not get the "precise timing" you guys are talking about, and I don't see any streamer use this perk anymore (apart from meme players like Sweh). So please can you show us your own skilled gameplay so we can learn from you guys?

A half second parry window is too hard for you is all im hearing.

    Tldr2 electric boogaloo: skill issue

  • @ImNotBobDylan said:

Oh yeah someone whose entire history is only about killer buffs and complaining about old Dead Hard, makes a topic to explain the world that it is now a fantastic & balanced perk

OP, would you mind recording some of your own survivor gameplay and show us your skills with this fantastic perk? I would particularly like you to demonstrate these "mindgames / precise timing" you're talking about, specifically against Legion, VPN players etc.

DH is stronger on a skilled player. Its just not a braindead perk so some might find it harder to use.

    Tldr: skill issue

From what I'm seeing, blight would be useless without aura reading.

What you should be seeing is that aura reading perks serve hyped mobile killers really well.

Not that they would be useless without it. You can also play these characters in an area control way with corrupt, dms etc. Aura reading is just way more fun for both sides.

  • There was nothing worth a ban there.

  • No. Lets nerf or take away zombies so we can actually make his whip better.

They aren't above my skill level, they are simply carried by the map rng (and their map offering). For Example you can't do literally nothing with a m1 killer like Ghostface if survivors start using infinites like the one in the dredge map or of they have a huge quantity of safe pallets, that if you don't break they can easily chain loops and if break them the match will be finished before you did a couple of hooks... Skill doesn't matter at all in those circumstances, since you can be the strongest player of the game, but the outcome will be the same.

Yes, I don't enjoy playing in that way because it get boring fast and I PERSONALLY found it unfun, but I don't want to throw matches because their flawed system, nor give a free win to people that don't deserve it, especially the toxic ones.

I don't tunnel every match but when you don't do it you'll regret it.

Tunneling is not a crutch since for the same logic behind genrush: both are optimal (and boring) way to play and both side rush their goal in order to have more chances to win...

Tunneling and camping are 100% optimal way to play the game but saying that just because they are optimal they cant be crutches is incredibly naive.

We both know incredibly terrible killer players that can barely get 1 or 2 downs per game and yet are still carried to a certain mmr by face camping that 1 down and then hopefully getting 1 or 2 more kills with noed.

Is it technically optimal? Sure. Is that guy still incredibly bad at the game and facing survivors way above his skill level and probably feels like face camping and noed are the only way he can even have a chance of playing the game? Also yes.

Same thing for tunneling. Like i get it, in a bigger, survivor sided map, tunnel away. But if you are resorting to tunneling all games every games, maybe a crutch? I dont know you, i cant say <3

lockers exist (crows will just go away instantly when you go inside a locker)... just for the fact that they were injured by those distances told us of the "skill" of those players...

Imagine how delusional you have to be to call actual comp players bad.

these high-skill ceiling tactics mean nothing towards sadako.

I think your naming hypothetical skill-ceilings that do not exist in her ability yet but are in her power.

    for example

She has to learn how to use her short period of distortion when demanifested at loops.

this would very skill-expressive for sadako IF it didn't last 0.5 seconds. her invisibility only lasts like half second. once the survivor knows what direction your going, the rest of phases do nothing. if her phases were all put into 1 phase for like 3 seconds, then yes she would have higher skill-ceiling at loops.

She has to know which tvs will be on cooldown for a while and which ones are about to come back online.

Learning that your TV have 100 second cooldown is not a skill. its limiting factor in the ability that limits her condemn build-up and mobility. in other words, Cooldowns exist to limit skill-ceiling of the killer but sometimes they can be healthy in certain instances.

She can harass a single survivor, build their condemn, deny that survivor the opportunity to use the tape to get rid of condemn.

she can only build 1 condemn stack every 100 seconds in TP at base-kit. you would need to be standing next to a tv for 700 seconds for her to build 7 condemn stacks. that is like 11+ minutes. it takes forever for you to ever build meaningful condemn stacks through teleporting at base-kit.

high skill-cieling does mean high power because it means your action impact the outcome of the match. Sadako's action do not impact the outcome of the match. what impacts the match for Sadako is survivors skill-level. Its same thing for billy. When billy was stronger, his chainsaw skills mattered more towards the outcome of the match. His power was weaken, thus his skill-expression was weakened.

''She has to learn how to use her short period of distortion when demanifested at loops.''

This isnt like a hypothetical thing, this is pretty basic for her.

''She has to know which tvs will be on cooldown for a while and which ones are about to come back online.''

This isnt about knowing her cds but keeping track of which tv went into cd when and which tv will come back online when, it sounds easy but keeping track of it is incredibly hard in the middle of the match yet you still benefit from doing it.

''She can harass a single survivor, build their condemn, deny that survivor the opportunity to use the tape to get rid of condemn.''

She can take some one out of the game with condemn in around 2.5 minutes from game start. This isnt a hypothetical thing either, its just something people do.

it's the shortest way to being mocked and disrespected by survivors (who will be mean toward you in every case). i wish you did some of my matches and you'll see why people tunnel... i don't know nothing about your skill and your mmr, but i can speak for my personal experience since i didn't had a NORMAL match in ages... every single match done aganist tryharders/genrushers/toxic pricks who want to make your experience miserable is a common experience for me, so i don't see any reason about playing "nice"

Dude it sounds like you are stuck in an mmr where survivors are above your skill level and your only option is to hard tunnel early for a chance at winning.

And it sounds like you dont enjoy playing like that, so throw a couple games, get easier survivors and practice vs those.

Sometimes you get dealt a bad hand and have to tunnel some one out of the game but if its every single game, you are probably just using tunneling as a crutch.

  • @Tostapane said:

artist high skill ceiling? maybe, but that "skill ceiling" is easily counterable if you have some brain... imo the artist is just annoying, but far from being strong as you claim...

You say that but then we go watch otz vid about a good artist vs comp players and she is getting cross map injures and quite literally dominating survivors. So no

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3139538#Comment_3139538

Yes, Sadakos high skill ceiling of knowing where to use your telegraphed teleport. Or dematerialize into a wet noodle, and then back into a standard m1 killer with no power.

    High skill ceiling indeed.

You are confusing ceiling with power again.

Tell me, do you think a high skilled billy can win vs equally skilled swfs who know how to loop against a billy?

High skill ceiling doesnt mean high power.

  • From a previous comment.

she has multitude of mechanics she has to master.

She can harass a single survivor, build their condemn, deny that survivor the opportunity to use the tape to get rid of condemn.

She has to work on spatial awareness to continue a chase immediately after coming out of a tv without losing orientation.

She has to know which tvs will be on cooldown for a while and which ones are about to come back online.

She has to learn how to use her short period of distortion when demanifested at loops.

She has to learn how to spread her teleports in order not to create dead zones for herself.

She has to learn to passively keep track of which tvs she teleported to and which ones are locked because survivors took a tape.

She has a lot of moving parts that need to be mastered.

Like yeah she can be effective without much thought but again, thats the difference between floor and ceiling.

    Sadako has pretty high ceiling.

  • Sadako has pretty high skill ceiling.

Around nurse or so, maybe above.

What you want isnt a high skill ceiling killer but a high power killer.

  • Lol thats eerily similar to my nurse build.

Pain res, Bbq, Lethal, Floods of Rage

  • Nah the only change they need is BT stacking with other endurance effects.

Call it spite or Entities Mercy or w/e and make an exception for it.

  • Nobody is saying its not a good strat.

Only that survivors fInd it boring

I've seen some high level artists the argument has nothing to do with her strengths but her gameplay loop.

Holding w rarely works against a good artist and cross map injures are always fun.

If you are talking about her optimal way of play, aka camping, yeah its kinda boring. Still more engaging than all killers (except twins) because you still scout gens and bother survivors while camping.

  • If they act cute or drop their items.

A single couch while maintaining eye contact is enough.

Hell if you do it in the middle of the match ill leave you be till the next time i see you again. No exceptions.

I really wish we had deep stats on all our characters' deeds throughout the years. How many Dwights have I killed? I will never know.

DBD is what you make of it. I prioritize actions that earn me points and just go with the flow of the match trying to have fun.

You have killed the same dwight repeatedly sir. The glasses gives it away, same person.

Nurse players, Blight players, Perma 3 Michael, etc etc. Their wins mean nothing to me. It’s not even a game.

Lol for the first 100 games or so maybe.

After that we get good players that give us a run for our money.

Every match is head to head and i love it.

  • Watch a high level artist and see how they play.

You think artist begins and ends at her skill floor.

  • I have seen some insane survivors advocate for 8-10 second stun specially so they would get slugged.

Like ... why are you so boring.

  • Lol there are so many maps that eat your blinks altogether if you try to blink through some areas. Midwich isnt one of them.

When blinking around clusters you just have to be a bit more precise and keep in mind that survivors also occupy space and there might not be enough free space to blink.

  • Its a team game. Prioritizing your escape means taking hits for other survivors, body blocking when it makes sense, unhooking others and sometimes taking chase so you dont lose.

1 survivor being sacrificed early because nobody did those things means you are all probably getting sacrificed.

I'd argue it and new haddonfield really are killer freindly with the sheer amount of deadzones and the amount of 3 gen situations they can have. Hell, midwichs exit gates are 8 seconds away from eachother and a straight shot

Excuse me but if at this point you still cant see how good new haddonfield is for survivors you are extremely bad at the game.

  • Only happens in lower mmr. I havent had a single guy throw the game in over a week.

Solo q tormenting solo q and keeping each other down, sad.

  • @Taxman232 said:

I dont know what you are talking about, Spine Chill has not been buffed. The killer needs to have clear line of sight and the effect lingers, meaning you dont have live info on where the killer is looking. Previously it was looking in your direction, so even through walls you got the notification.

Plus they removed the vault speed (which I agree never should have been part of the perk).

Cool , you dont know what you are talking about.

  • @versacefeng said:

I don't see how that proves anything since streamers take up a small percent of the player base.

Did you intend to sound that defensive?

  • Its a crutch and im glad its going away. Playing around the hook will still be a thing after reassurance but at least face camping will be 10 times harder.

  • Yeah you will be heavily disfavoured in some situations purely because of rng. Sometimes the best you can do is get a 1k against players you would 4k in another map and i think accepting that is an incredibly healthy mentality.

Sometimes 2 minute into a match ill just say aight this is looking like a 2k game and just accept that and play accordingly and thats absolutely fine. Some maps and situations heavily favour me, some dont.

And tell me Dead_Harder, what is "fun" to you? You like getting facecamped, solo que teammates that do gens, and so on? Or are you one of those players that don't care about these things? Prefer an actual conversation.

You are probably in mmr hell. Survivors i go up against are damn good whether they are swf or solo. My games are incredibly fun and from the post game chat of a lot of my games, its also fun for the survivors i face.

Fun to me is enjoying the game, which i do quite a lot. Sorry to hear its not fun for you, try swf, getting good or any other game.

  • Im convinced this is an elaborate troll.

My dude straight up used Viktor until 3 of the survivors were injured and then he proceeded to use Charlotte to get downs instead of Viktor.

This is, big killer weapon energy.

Op is a straight up Chad.

  • But how else are they going to cry about tunneling?

  • Oh cool, hopefully your otr got you all the way to the next tile.

  • Because its fun?

What kind of answer did you expect?

  • @legacycolt said:

And again, the only people defending nurse are the typical dbd forum nurse mains. Quite funny.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3136534#Comment_3136534

Well in my opinion if you end chases quickly you should win the game like doesn't matter if its solo survival or 4 man SWF a killer ending chases fast deserves the win survivor is a team mode, like any other team games if you're losing because of your team its not the enemy's fault just the game for the poor match making so it doesn't matter if you're solo survivor and your teammates are downed super quickly the killer deserves to win you deserve to be angry but try to be angry at the team or the game for the matchmaking not the killer or their perks the fact that you need a bunch of regression perks to win when you end chases quickly isn't necessary bad just shows an underlying issue with the base game mechanics not rewarding the killer properly I believe gen related perks shouldn't be a thing for killers, the game should by default reward killers with wins if they end chases quickly perks should be used to make chases either more interactive or even change the game up a little or provide a very small advantage in game but I personally would prefer if they would help with game progression in general like BP if doing certain stuff

Fast chases doesnt actually mean a guaranteed win. If you are getting 1 hook every 30 seconds meaning 25 second downs and 5 second hooks, the game would last 6 minutes.

More than enough time to do all gens and get out.

You need to consider if you need a 3 gen if yes, which 3 gens.

You need to consider which survivors are on which gens and which survivor is healthy and can make a save attempt.

You need to consider which gens are worth defending and which ones are in a strong position and should be given up.

You need to consider if an area of the map is safe or if its a deadzone.

You need to consider how likely you are to snowball at any given time depending on if multiple survivors are injured and if they are in unsafe areas and close together.

You need to consider at any given time if you should return to the hook to ensure the survivor goes to 2nd stage/gets sacrificed.

You dont need to actually consider any of these if you are against survivors that arent efficient with their times or bad survivors.

But if you are against efficient survivors and on top of that if you are in a big map? Doesnt matter if you get downs 10 seconds after seeing a survivor, you will lose.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3136469#Comment_3136469

I haven't eaten a DS stun in years. It wouldn't be a problem because you can easily ignore the survivor or slug them. They can't even combine OTR and then force a locker DS because Deep Wounds will cause them to bleed out, so it won't have that great of a synergy with the other anti-tunnel perk unless you are genuinely being tunneled.

Or unless you are using it offensively? I'm not just going to leave the survivor on the ground after they body block with otr when im carrying another survivor to a hook or when im chasing another survivor. That person will obviously get tunneled. Making the stun 10 seconds or something insane like that just incentivizes offensive plays like these.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3136418#Comment_3136418

But especially in current "way" of regressions, finishing each gens with two people tend to do better than splitting up and doing two gens with two people.

I seriously doubt giving the killer double the pressure is in your advantage but i dont really play survivor so maybe im missing something.

Edit: And i only use PR for slowdown so im probably missing the new way of regression, that might be the disconnect here.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3135855#Comment_3135855

Which is why we are advocating for it to be buffed where eating the stun becomes much more powerful and yet there is still valid counterplay, yes. You'll get there eventually.

I used to it eat when it was 5 seconds too. Why would you advocate for it too be so strong that the killer feels more at ease leaving the person on the ground in favour of triggering it. That would be insanely boring for both the killer and survivor. That was never the intend for ds. It was a weird side effect.

Just get the stun and go to a new loop if you can, thats what the perk does. Its insane how much you guys hate playing the game even when playing the game lol.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3136418#Comment_3136418

I mean just because someone doesnt use it right doesnt make it a horrible perk to use or make it "killer-sided". It would be like saying "because (insert new player) cant use Nurse properly, it clearly is a horrible killer that gives survivors easy wins" when it's not the case. You need to look at this from the best case scenario.

(I hope this makes sense, Ive been on a hot streak of messing up my words for a really long while.)

I get it but when 8 times out of 10 i see it being used its in my favour, im going to think of it as a pretty advantageous perk for me

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 25
