And alf has 600 win streak... so?

I bring 3 info perks and in a small or vertical map i can have some survivors with their distortion still active at end game because its easier to rack up that recharge time.
They did a fantastic job with that perk. If a survivor plays into it they can get so much value from it. Chefs kiss.

Agree with add on nuke and 2nd blink becoming special attack. Nurse doesnt need them.

Because in certain maps it would be beyond broken?
What?

What?
Game is healthier when busted add ons and items are a rarity rather than a surety.
Would for sure be more fun if we were facing blights that didnt have alch ring every single time or if swfs stopped bringing the best toolboxes with bnp every time.
1000% healthier
-
Also no, OTR is already a better ds.
If you want bring them both.

Wouldn't the healthier alternative be making busted addons not-busted, like was the trend they were going on? Hell, a lot of them are pretty undertuned for their rarity (both color and availability wise).
Addons don't match their rarity uniformly like that, either due to how they work or what they have to give up due to double edged balancing. There's absolutely no direction to any of it.
Surely you meant to say add ons and items friend :)

Both sides have stingy players that complain, it's not exclusive to a single side. People who play a lot of survivor will complain about killers, and people who play killer will play about survivors. It would be nice if both sides had some level of empathy but instead everyone wants to kick each other in the shins until someone bleeds. Im tired of the "Us VS Them" posts on the forums, for F sake.
Also killer perks are designed to be stronger than survivors perks by nature since it's 4 perks the killer can bring VS 16 perks the killer can bring. And while I know SoloQ doesnt have the luxury of coordination that SWFs have, survivor perks in general are meant to have large benefits when used in coordination.
However, of all things, I feel like the following is really needed in the current state of DbD:
- SoloQ needs major quality of life, it's been years, it needs something, it has always had the worst end of the stick, even worse than killer has been.
- And DS needs it's stun time increased to 5 seconds or have the animation of dropping the survivor reduced so the survivor can make more distance.
Killer perks are not designed to be stronger.
Old dead hard was better than all killer perks bar none. Hell it was better than most killer powers.
Even now SB is better at creating distance than any killer perk can shorten it.
Hell Otr by itself gives 80 seconds of Old Iron Will + 80 seconds of aura immunity and until you heal yourself or touch a gen, 80 seconds of endurance.
Coh ... is a thing that gives extreme value for all 4 survivors and only 1 need to bring it.
Im not saying this to say that survivors are op or bhvr is survivor sided or anything like that. Im fine with all those perks.
But i think since base survivor is so weak compared to base killer they give perks like these to survivors to kinda even the playing fields.

The problem is veterans still have huge stockpiles so it makes little to no difference
For now, sure. In 2,3 months probably not so much.
-
Also if you think about it if they did make casual a thing they would need to add in an mmr kind of system into it anyway just to make it playable.
Which means what we have now is already casual.
-
What would be the point? The game would be incredibly boring vs 4 total randoms
Any decent killer would probably dominate and it wouldn't be any less sweaty, just even less balanced.
Hard pass

The patch was basically a big farewell to Dead Hard. None of the other changes really mattered. They butchered ruin and pop and i dont even care, next to the corpse of Dead Hard none of them matter.

Generalist for Solo Q (Bond/Kindred, Detectives Hunch, Inner Strength, Sprint Burst)
Specialist for SWF. Only people I really play SWF with nowadays are a group of buds I like to mess around with, or another group who are comp players. While I can hold my own in a chase just fine they obviously pull it off better, so I just become the gen jockey (Detectives Hunch, Overzealous, Stake Out, Resilience)
Doesnt that build kinda ensure that you become the weakest link? No exhaustion perks, no otr, no ds. Is the upsides of those perks good enough to skip those?
-
I bring 3 info perks so definitely generalist

I honestly don't have a problem with camping. It's easy to counter/play around. Though I never do it myself. Tunneling for pressure when you lose gens, sure - understandable.
What I don't understand is why killers are allowed to tunnel someone out of the game at 4-5 gens. It's pretty much a gg at this point and no Off the Record and Decisive strikes are gonna save you from this. It's just makes the game straight up unfair from the start.
It's not even that it's bad for the person that got tunneled out. The 3 people remaining have a long miserable game ahead that they will most likely lose.
Same as survivors can't vault the same window more than 3 times, killers shouldn't be able to hook the same person 3 times in a row unless some fair amount of time has passed from the beginning of the match.
I mostly play killer but after seeing what killers do sometimes makes me feel bad for survivors sometimes.
Tunneling some one out at 4-5 gens is only possible if survivors allow it.
By that i mean if all 3 survivors get off gens the second some one is hooked. Or if they rush off to unhook some one the second they are hooked even without waiting for the killer to go on their way.
It shouldnt happen vs survivors that are even barely decent at the game. But granted, most players arent even barely decent.

I can get 12 hook games and win consistently by playing nice.
But if i screw up and extend chase for 20-30 seconds that means im probably getting at most 1k that game.
The thing about killer gameplay is that you need constant pressure all the time and you can for sure get that pressure even when you are playing nice.
Its just that if you slip up or if a survivor plays really well, or say if you get screwed by auto hit 1 too many times, you're probably a bit screwed. At that point you either have to switch to playing dirty or just accept that you are probably getting a 1-2k at most and play fair anyway.
-
God there is no pleasing people.
Survivors have been crying about camping since day 1.
Now we have a perk that obliterates it and its according to this average survivor not good enough.
Yes average survivor is used as a slur here.

Nemmy and Sadako has 2 great perks each.

Victor is hard to hit with? No?
Twins has a tons of problems. Lethality of Viktor is not one of them.
The swap time is a big problem. So is the inability to hook survivors when Charl is on the other side of the map.
So is the inconsistent blood pools.
So is Viktors power just not working right in certain situations like when the survivor is on a slope.
But despite all that no other killer can exert as much pressure as twins. They are like ganondorf in smash, any % is kill percent. Better snowballer than agi/starstruck nurse and incredible map presence because you can literally be in 2 places at once. Twins is A tier but needs some qol changes :(

Pr is the only slow down i run. Its a lot worse than before as in its not also giving you free info but at least it does what its supposed to well.
I think they did a fine meta shake.
Pop is basically gone. Ruin is definitely gone. Eruption of all things is meta. Pretty awful gen regression perks like Cob and overcharge are seeing play.
I shifted basically entirely to aura reading builds and instead of corruption being meta on most of the killers i play now its a call between lethal pursuer of all things and corruption which is still good but not a no brainer.
They did an insanely good job at meta shake. 1 perk still being meta afterwards doesnt mean they didnt.

Yeah. That's simply how the game works. Who ever interacts with an object/player first prioritizes.
Thats simply how the game works can be the answer to literally every tech.
Though some still get patched. This one imo makes 0 sense thematically and i would like to see it gone. But honestly, its not a big deal.

except that no normal player really 4Ks 90% of their games... and playing strong killers doesnt guarantee a 90% winrate...
not 4k but i generally 3-4k about 80%+ of my games as nurse. And i know im a below average killer and barely decent at nurse. Being decent at nurse is imo good enough to get really good results in this game.

Hmmm... well, I'll choose artist since she is my main, (I've played most of the killers you listed). Usually in this scenario I would just be gone from the hook. Unless they insta hook or I see nothing on BBQ, I'm going to just leave the hook and apply pressure somewhere else.
Artist is oppressive enough that I don't need to worry about tunnelling someone out unless I'm down real bad because the survivors played well. Usually I won't tunnel someone out unless theres only 1-2 gens left and I know I need to.
I have to full on disagree with you when you said that 8 hooks and 0 kills is the most unsatisfying thing. To me, 0 hooks is literally the worst thing in this game, especially when you get really close but they just play too well. It doesn't happen often, but every blue moon you'll get a really good team that you just can't catch. I personally would rather get 8 hooks than get only 2-3 hooks on one survivor to get the kill. I care more about the blood points than getting a kill and "winning."
Tunneling isn't fun from the survivor side, but it definitely is an understandable tactic at some point in the game in certain scenarios. The only time I get annoyed with it is when the killer decided to do it at the start of the game where they're debatably throwing the game by doing so. The problem is they aren't always punished because the team tries to take hits when they should just sit on gens. There have been times where I "pretend" to tunnel someone just so I can get some easy hits from their teammates and I just immediately switch targets because usually that survivor is not in a good position by taking that hit.
Sometimes you must tunnel to get a kill and that's fair because it is a pvp game. As long as you aren't a bad sport about it, I don't see a problem.
What do you think about the dms nerf as an artist main?
-
Honestly its such a weird perk.
Put it in a hard to reach place in a strong main and suddenly it has the potential to be really good, specially with shadow step. But with the boon perks range being as limited as they are and its own effect being a measly 2%, its not the perk slot at all.
I think boons need a rework altogether. You can just bring 1 but it has its own range and its own bless speed etc kind of deal so weaker effects like these can cover more ground and actually be useful.

Personally, the change to Corrupt was my favorite change in that patch.
I could literally end the game after a quick first chase (depending on killer choice and current sweat level) as killer and was very tired of seeing it every game, often causing survivors to meander aimlessly for 2 minutes/hide it out.
It's much healthier/less stale.
End the game after a quick chase? 1 down?
?

Some are just dumb. Heal tech for example makes no sense imo and im not saying that to be salty, i have seen players attempt heal tech against me but never escape with it yet so im not at all salty about it.
Its just, the killer cant pick some one up when they are being healed? Really?

Yeah. If anything, I thought the map would have been the problem.
Man if they fix maps i dont care if they break blight and nurses legs and leave them in a ditch.
I just refuse to play anything but nurse when a good chunk of the maps are incredibly frustrating to play with a basic m1 killer.

I don't think survivors swapping to killer full time or straight up quitting has anything to do with their skill. The game has gotten to a point where you lose as survivor a lot more than you win. You have to ask yourself if there is even a point in playing out games. Where you can clearly see the survivors you were matched with, can't play against the killer you were matched with.
Survivors aren't having fun, and the more you keep telling them to "JUST ADAPT" "DEAD HARD NERF LMAO", is just going to cause them to quit the game faster. If your only take away from the queue times and survivors giving up is that they are just all babies. This game isn't going to last much longer.
Sorry, wasnt the queu times much worse for survivors before the patch? <3

Right right right right, that must be all that skill issue boosting up killer queue times.
I'm getting 1-3 minute queu times and i wouldnt mind 10 minute queus for how fun the game is.
If its not fun for you, sucks to be you buddy.
-
We can go broader. Its the maps.
They only added survivor sided maps last 5 times. Some maps are either horrendously big or have incredibly strong loops that are easy to get to from most places.
Thats also probably why more and more players are playing nurse (and why thats ok <3)

Run Blast mine, flashbang, head on, quick and quiet. When you head on the killer flashbang him. Can bring a toolbox to get a quick Blast Mine. Should be finished in a game or two. I don't like to do the challenge with flash lights because many killers aren't going to let you.
That sounds harder than normal way tbh. Just drop a pallet, wait for the killer to break it and when they start the animation blind them.
Easy af.

@Dead_Harder said:
To be honest with you. Only thing you need to get to an ok mmr with survivor is being efficient with your time.
Not causing a 3 gen, unhooking in front of the killer, wasting pallets, taking hits, flashlight saves etc.. Those are all skills a lot of even decent survivors lack because they are not really needed.
Just heal fast, sit on gens and dont crack under pressure at the first hook and you'll go far in this game.
Oh and splitting up. Though if you arent splitting up you arent being efficient with your time so there is that i guess.

I hope they fix weskers janky collision and speed up his vault just a tad so its actually useful.
Other than that im fine with all perks.
My only issue with hyperfocus is that its extremely easy to subtle cheat with.
I dont know anything about coding but even i can use older scripts i used from older games to frankenstein a script that looks at your screen and hits space to get great skill checks. And i really really doubt they can detect that kind of cheating.
