Buddy the most important question in a game is, is this fun?
Camping and tunneling is not fun for the survivors so they are being discouraged. And on the other hand they are also trying to make the game fun for the killer. The nerf to dead hard was mainly because it was unfun. Gens got an increased time because losing gens left and right felt terrible and so on.
You can still do it and it will still be effective, even basically mandatory on low tier killers a bit. But those strategies are getting hit because they are extremely unfun.
You can tunnel 2 guys at the same time if you are good enough though and there is basically no counter to that unless they have aura immunity.

The only change i really dislike is them reverting MoM
AA nerf kinda sucks because of the reason why but it's whatever to me.
All the other changes especially the bloodweb changes seem amazing to me
Reverting MoM? Why?

If reassurance is on the same level as camaraderie it will never see any play.
But like, you can use Reassurance up to 6 times per match as opposed to the 1 time of camaraderie so its much better.
Imo the best perk to compare Reassurance to is Deliverance. Both are capable of shortchanging the killer out of a good amount of pressure.
-
No need for proof, we all know that maps are the real villain of DBD

yeah but tunneling will be made harder with the 10 sec BT and 10% haste. If you run guardian you will be 117% movement speed which is ridiculous as you will be faster than 4.4 m/s killers. Reassurance still will be a meta perk it will kill camping
Doubt reassurance will see much play but hopefully it becomes meta.
Survivors wasting 1 perk on something i wasnt going to do would be great.

@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Camping did not addressed, BT is anti-tunnel perk. Killers like Bubba, Huntress, Trickster are still so strong when they are camping. And you have nothing against camping.
But i am supporting base-kit Corrupt. Ofcourse it should have shorter time. Like 30 seconds. This time should be enough to find and start chase one survivor.
Oh my god 30 seconds base Corrupt would be so amazing

Up here in highest MMR we tend to respect every pallet to avoid stuns so it sounds like you're dealing with a hacker. DC and/or tunnel
Thank you sensei.

@Aneurysm said:
Quick guide on whether or not tunnelling is necessary:
You're playing nurse/blight - you're a max MMR God, you have to tunnel
You're playing anyone else - your killer is too weak, you have to tunnel
Your survivors seem to have a vague understanding of what pallets and windows are - elite SWF, activate tunnel protocols
Your survivors are urban evading through the foliage - advanced SWF tactic to make you let your guard down. Don't be fooled, get to tunnelling
Survivor does anything - this is BM, you know what must be done to restore your honour
Survivor is bad in chase - tunnel the weak link!
Survivor is good in chase - THEYRE MAKING YOU LOOK STUPID DELETE THEM
Survivor is average in chase - hmm idk better tunnel them to be on the safe side
What if they pallet stun me, sensei?

2 hits but it is not big deal.
The important question is that, is it makes you mending after you use it? Because if it is not, this will make it stackable with other endurance perks.
I think they said its not an endurance effect but im too lazy to go back and check. So it should stack.
-
Is it a revert or is it a buff? Aka do you need 3 hits or 2? : D

If the Killer hits you immediately after unhook then OTR Endurance will not even work. I can count on one hand how many times I've gotten value out of OTR.
Are we waiting for 10 seconds off the hook now or are we hitting immediately, im getting mixed signals.

N O P E. No. Literal free wall hacks for carrying a survivor as opposed to hooking them. BBQ should remain the number one information perk for killers, not Double A battery where you get to see survivors who just happen to be within your terror radius when you're carrying someone to a h o o k. Literally what BBQ is for. ( I know the max limit is 20 Meters but if it gets buffed, chances are it'll be within 40 meters or something.)
BBQ isnt the best info perk for a good many killers. Floods imo is even better for the killers that can make good use of bbq.
On top of that the best info perk imo is lethal, just not by itself.

I have it on good authority that they are Montreal Canadiens sided :C

Wouldn't say the survivor high MMR cap is trivial to reach, especially for solo players. The killer MMR one, on the other hand, definitely is. You only need 1 kill to gain MMR, it's absurd.
Pretty sure if you get 1 kill you lose mmr? Dunno what you are on about really, do you mean when the other 3 dcs or something?

It depends on the survivor some of us don't really need to use OTR and some of us like to make random builds for fun or try to make a build based on their gameplay style which not always uses OTR if your style is more gen rush, totem hunt, or noise distracting type builds
I mean meme builds are fun but we are talking about how common it is for the killer to wait x seconds and then down you when there is an insane perk that gives you 80 seconds of endurance, 80 seconds of aura immunity and 80 seconds of silence for grunts. No one is gonna out wait that.
-
I think the real question is why are none of you guys running OTR?

High MMR is just something people say to stroke their egos. Anyone who actually wins a lot and isn't a narcissist can clearly see that they aren't getting matched with comp players every game. Some higher level killers like Scott and Otz have had the honesty to come out and admit this but there are still other popular figures in the DBD community who feed into the lie that high MMR is an unwinnable nightmare where you only ever go against the best of the best in every game.
Maybe it was a thing before but since they lowered the cap, i think like 6 months ago, its fine really.

Its horror themed tag, its great.

Survivors dont need perks to be able to get out during end game. If you dont have OTR or DS at end game and you are unhooked
it doesnt mean you are a free kill. You generally have from 1 to 3 team mates willing to body block and take hits for you and depending on where you have been hooked its trivial to escape.
If you do have otr and ds active in end game though, its basically gg.
I dont expect you to understand the nuance since you are the loony that was asking for ds to be 10 seconds. Sluzzy 0.6.
-
@Biscuits said:
Camping will likely be rare next patch, but tunneling still hasn't been addressed. I would have liked to see a DS buff, baseline borrowed time is useless because everyone is going to be running OTR anyway. So realistically nothing changed for tunneling.
10 sec base kit endurance and 10 seconds of 110% speed.
Dude. Yes tunneling has been adressed. Adressed doesnt mean obliterated. The changes are extremely good.

It doesn't have a cooldown because it can only be used once now.
Did he actually thought you could endlessly spam it or something? That dude is absolutely bonkers.
-
@EvilBarney666 said:
I'm concerned about the body blocking. If the killer is clearly going for the unhooker and you body block , that is using a defensive perk offensively.
I feel that they should just remove collision with the killer and other players during that time. Then it would incentive killers to go for the unhooker since they could not hit the person fresh off the hook.
Once the survivor does a conspicuous action or the timer wears off they lose the endurance and having no collision.
The problem with that is they can basically stay inside you (oh my) if they dont have collision and that means the second you attack you automatically hit them anyway.
Its a nice thought but i dont think it works, not 100% sure.
-
If he would vault it, yeah.
But you are safe if he gets stunned.
This is a pretty good buff to our wesky boi ngl, making vaulting pallets a lil bit more viable? Sweet

Or you could spread out multiple hooks so survivors are on death hook in the endgame instead of wasting time trying to catch survivors who have Endurance and are potentially running as fast or faster than you.
If you focus on 2, maximum 3, you can get them out far sooner than endgame and still not tunnel. Spreading 2 hooks on 4 survivors before all gens pop usually means either sbmm failed hard again or you are smurfing.

@Phasmamain said:
They are called killers because they hunt and kill survivors. Thought that was obvious
:C I object to that we do it humanely and with as little pain as possible. The hooks are a special medical tool that injects painkiller directly into the bloodstream. The whole process is incredibly peaceful.

There is no counter to this. Except tunneling from the start.

Range isn't a factor if it's easy to dodge, which both Shred and Virulent Bound are at long range.
That's Survivors playing badly. That's not in Wesker's control
virulent bound isnt at all easy to dodge at long range.
Maybe now it will be but you dont know that and neither do i

It only really mattered if you were hard camping. Otherwise it was locking a survivor out of the game - the survivor's effectively dead for the period of time they're on hook and unhooking them is almost always the better play.
While there were situations this could hurt a killer who was playing honestly (mainly protecting a hook in a 3-gen/by a contested gen, or going back to force a hook stage after survivors left the hook to progress on its own), I'd have considered it a net win to game health to weed out facecampers and soft-nerf the strategy into oblivion. Particularly killers like Billy or Myers who could make hook saves impossible, or the Big Basement B himself. I don't have an issue with facecamping when it happens dynamically and it's the smartest thing to do, but I do have an issue with players who go into matches with the intent to facecamp everyone they catch to death and Reassurance almost managed to force them to play the game before BHVR walked it back just now.
This was a really good patch and I'm happy with nearly every part of it - Better Than New was the only other miss - but the Reassurance change was not a good move.
It literally stil obliterates camping. What you are asking for is for a single player to be able to singlehandedly stop a camper. Which is understandable, camping is the most boring way to play the game.
Its still insane to think that would have been ok though.
This is still a great perk. S tier if you are going against a lot of campers. Its just not busted af.

Oh the hitbox decrease was absolutely needed. I actually got a bit scared when I read the notes, saw that they were reducing his collision box size, but no mention of his hit box size being reduced. He could've probably gotten too many grabs around corners without the hitbox being decreased a bit.
Also, decreasing his collision box size, plus the other buffs, will make him a bit stronger at loops, so it's good survivors have a slightly better chance at dodging his dash if they predict his dash right.
And I agree, I think Wesker will be one of the most balanced killers in the game, especially since, despite being strong, he also has a fair amount of counterplay for survivors, which is so important. I am hopeful that he'll be similarly beloved to go against as Demogorgon. I just hope certain builds like a Coulrophobia anti-heal build won't make him too unbearable to go against.
Im thinking about unironically using claustrophobia on him. + obviously sloppy. Just dunno what to pair it with.
My instinct says lethal and floods of rage but thats just the nurse main in me talking

Waiting 10 seconds and tunnelling is still more efficient than hooking a different survivor.

HIs best addon you are referring to was not his best. The best is all survivors start infected as that buys you a lot of time.
Regardless of your completely idiotic statement, his green/yellow comb wasn't even good at all, because his anti-loop with it was still non-existent at around 80% of most pallets/vaults.
You overestimated Wesker and underestimated how stupid BHVR is releasing him like this.

Oh no they made his best add on base kit. Oh the atrocities :C

@ad19970 said:
I hope the injure after vaulting is only if Wesker actually comes in contact with survivors. Because if he could safely injure survivors after vaulting a pallet that survivors have just thrown down, that would probably cut down on survivors counterplay way too much. It would kind of defeat the purpose of him not being able to injure over pallets and windows, which would be awful.
However, if survivors can avoid being injured just by having enough distance which they can gain while Wesker is vaulting, then that change will be perfectly fine, and very good. Survivors using those sprays to make his vault useless would have been a serious problem.
The other changes all sound amazing. None of these buffs seem significant in any way, they'll just make him play a bit better. The collision and hit box size reduction are the best changes here.
From what i remember he still gets pallet stunned during animation. I would be very surprised if they changed that

Yeah, the Devs are often wrong with this game.
They are 1000% right about this one. A 30 sec effect on a 10 sec CD was insane and you know it. You can tell me sweet lies and you can even lie to yourself but under no circumstance was Reassurance ever going to hit live servers in that state.

He isn't strong at all, and he got nerfed pretty badly overall for his out-in-the-open gameplay. I imagine like Demo, itll be impossible to hit a survivor at range with bound now.
He needed 3 charges, less charge time, and better addons. He still has no anti-loop at all, and no map pressure. He is going to be a total crap killer on level of trapper in high rank games. A noob stomper maybe, but nothing fun when you are good at the game.
Sorry Rick, i dont care.

It is reasonable if the Killer is camping.
It is not reasonable if not, but in 99,99% of the times this would not happen. And for the edge case it happens that someone is taken hostage, they should have thought about another solution instead of trashing the Perk.
Is it reasonable? Seems like the devs disagree <3

Yes 30 seconds is still insanely good. Next question.
