I'll answer your original question: most survivors yell at you because they're really upset with themselves for not being better players or bringing more useful perks in order to save their teammate.
It's classic behavior, really. People don't want to feel bad, so they make excuses for themselves, and it's even easier for them with a ready target for the blame: the killer.
"It's not my fault I was too scared to trade hooks for my teammate on death hook and possibly die even though it's my first hook--there was nothing I could do! I was trapped hiding in that bush next to the chase! If only the killer wasn't such a scumbag, then my teammate would still be alive. I'll tell them they're a scumbag and shame them--that'll teach that evil, pedophiliac, satanic, cannibalistic, [insert minority here] killer!"
I'm exaggerating for comedic effect, but in my experience that's essentially the reason in the vast majority of cases.
Edit: "more useful" perks as in perks suited specifically to saving their teammate from camping and tunneling, not necessarily meta perks or some other inane prerequisite for the role.

It means kids who play this game now have much different standard to what is toxic/bm. Most are used to the safe space culture, and as a result think anything besides a pat on the back is toxic. If you played any early 00’s shooter, excluding everything else, you had to have thick skin.
I’ve played this game for 2k hours since 2017, and have had only a handful of truly bad chat interactions. To add to that, I’ve had 1 person tell me to kill myself, in the hundreds if not thousands I’ve played with. That was a daily occurrence back in the infancy of Xbox live.
My point is that people who make these posts need thicker skin, and need to realize the internet is the Wild West, be prepared for the worst of the worst. Nothing someone says means anything, their angry rants at you should be laughed at, because you made them made at a meaningless game. You’re no less valuable as a person because a keyboard warrior tried to flame you, and no one is judging you based off of a trial in DBD, not anyone’s opinion that matters anyway.
You have met some pretty nice people in this game, then.
That, or I'm playing with all the #########. I get told to kill myself every three matches or so. I received two mail bombs, which was an interesting experience.
Then again, I also get told that I'm the toxic ######### and that's why I deserve the hate by said #########, which is new; maybe you're on to something.
I feel pretty confident in saying that it's as bad as it's always been, though. That in and of itself is pretty [BAD WORD].

Why you shouldn't kick it. If 2 to 4 survivors are swarming a gen, the last thing you should be doing is kicking that gen.
To be fair, it does delay them like .002 seconds, so that's about 1/24th of an extra hit! Or something.

I liked the design of the old brown Haddonfield offering. Not the map, just the offering.
What was that one again, the harvest festival poster? I loved the progression of the offerings--from a vaguely related item to a key part of the location in one way or some literal others. Whaw. S'was cool, but it did bloat the web a lot.

I didn't say it isn't fun. But if i want to try catch your teammate then I will slug u and if u played killer u should understand why it's necessary because if i choose to hook u, u most likely give up and it's game over.
But if u think only about yourself then there's nothing to talk about.
Okay, cool--you're either just being rude or deliberately misunderstanding, good to know. Get a hug from someone you love, and try this sort of thing again tomorrow, yeah?

That extra time doesnt compensate for the non notification its getting at all. If someone is touching my totem i deserve to know. Undying gives you a aura for a few seconds but that notification is a deal breaker and can determine the outcome of games. Hex Thrill of the Hunt will be another unusable perk unless they change it back.
I mean, I didn't use it for totem defense in the first place, I just patrolled the area with my Hex like a madman, haha...
-
I mean, it does add like four seconds with each token or whatever it was, that does make doing totems a chore imo. I would have felt more secure with a second or two on top of that tbh, but y'know.

Ruin, Undying, Pop, Corrupt.
You're a good killer with your training wheels on.
Thanks! I'm a good killer with them off too~
-
Don't know if anyone's already said it, if they have, I apologize--I'd like it if spawning Hexes could override Boons: it puts them in play (rather than doing absolutely nothing), and if the survivor remembers where the boon was, they can just cleanse the Hex/reapply the Boon.
This also adds some neat strategy in what totems to cleanse and what ones to keep--as it is, there's almost no reason to cleanse totems if you have a Boon, and no reason at all to cleanse totems if there are no Hexes in play and you have a Boon.
-
Honestly, just bring back yellow map offerings and bump the cake and pudding up to green--that would change the usage in a roundabout way.
Maybe bump then even higher instead? Would there be a point in using map offerings if they were iri? Would wards be moved to purple with the rest, then? I'd be interested in seeing the results of that...
-
In my honest opinion, I'd rather be slugged for a while than hooked as it keeps me in the game a little longer, meaning I have the opportunity to get more points before getting hooked and killed or bleeding out.
On the inverse side, there's plenty of opportunity for "fair" slugging as a killer: survivor unhooks in your face? Slug that poor schmuck who just got pulled off and chase the unhooker.
Need someone out of play while you deal with another player (Tinkerer notification, Killer Instinct triggering, etc.)? Put that lad on the ground and deal with the possibility of someone picking him back up--sometimes you get back in time for a two-for one deal!
Want to ensure survivors don't use Unbreakable at a really inconvenient time for you? Knock them down for a hot minute every once and a while. The possibilities are endless!
Slugging everyone at five gens immediately s'bit of a [BAD WORD] move, though. Fair enough.
-
I've been timing my games recently, and sometimes the gens are done impossibly fast with the perks and items that they have--most of the time the games are legitimate, but I just feel bad for players that feel the need to boost themselves with cheating in a game like this, on either side.
Looking at you, Wraith with permanent 200% gen regression; David with sprint burst faster than Legion Frenzy.
*Cough*

S'okay, we won't judge.
I mean, we're here for you; animal pics, hugs, the aforementioned hospital call--s'cool, whatever it is.
Almost forgot to comment on the perk idea: sure, sounds interesting. Be interesting to see if it would chunk the gen or do a faster regress afterwards or something. Bit of fascinating potential counterplay there to be had.
-
Honestly, I couldn't think of a survivor perk right now to save my life--but a killer perk?
Predator. Hands-down the most counterintuitive perk now; it basically has little to no use.
NOED has counterplay, Ruin is iffy now due to totem placement, but works in a fair fashion, and for the lad who said Forced Penance, I raise you Deathbound and sneer at you in the nicest way possible (mostly because I've been using FP for slowdown as funsies and somehow it works).
Also, what's with the hate for Tinkerer? It's actually fair nowadays, compared to what it used to do.

I'm talking more than 12 games. 30-40+ games of just farming points and chillin.
It would be bad if the system swinged players from low to high to low with just a handful of games.
those are the last twelve games I played, which were as huntress--In games before that I was playing other killers. My overall performance as Huntress is fairly abysmal and I'm still getting players who are well above my skill, however.
Farming as Ghostface and Myers both resulted in very little deviance in over-all player skill (besides the occasional expected blip)--that I can confirm, having played over eighty matches while draining them of all their add-ons and offerings before prestige.
-
@Mr_K said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2551345#Comment_2551345
Are you killing any of them?
I'm going by my own experience. I played Trapper 4 to 8 hooking survivors and letting them go. The survivors started getting to the point where I'm babysitting. Seriously the type that run away from pallets to the edge of the map. I switch over to Nurse and get tryhards. The contrast is too much to be random and its consistent.
One person in twelve games. Most of my games as killer are usually against very good survivors--not all, and on other killers that I'm better at it doesn't matter as much, but for the killers that I struggle with, it's a pain.
My Huntress has always been fairly iffy, and it's only gotten significantly worse as time goes on. I feel like I'm not learning anything or developing any skills because the games fly by, and that's genuinely distressing.

My Nurse is at max and my Trapper gets brand new survivors. Yes, it is how it works.
Take one of your killers and do not kill. All survivors escape for serveral matchs and see what kind of survivors start to show up in your lobbies.
Y'know, I've had this in my huntress games for a few days now, and I'm still getting survivors who play the game extremely well. If the survivors are escaping consistently, doesn't that mean I play the killer poorly and should be getting survivors with a little less skill? Because that's not happening, interestingly enough.
We can suspect the system gives an average score, because that's how the devs said they wanted the system to work. It's supposedly built this way in order to prevent players who are very good at one killer to switch to a different killer and still dominate the match because they are familiar with the role while the survivors are fresh newborn fawns.
In practice, this doesn't really work, but the idea is laudable.
-

Three-ish years. I started playing in 2016, took a break around 2017 because Steam reset all my progress multiple times, and I wanted to play other games with less grind, rather than sink my life into this one. I know it's opinion based, but Huntress's power is unique compared to most of the other killers.
If you think she has an uninteresting design, what about Trickster? His power is a circus compared to hers.
Compared to other killers at the time she was released, yes. Now, not so much.
Keep in mind that, as much as anyone may hate Trickster, he has at least a touch more complexity to his power, even without add-ons. Laceration, Main Event, and then all the additions that add bounce and splash, and other such things.
Is he tremendously complex?
No. But he is a touch more so than big mama "throw axes"
And before you possibly come in with any insults, I do like Huntress quite a bit, so no fussing, yeah? Bear Mom is probably one of my favorite killers, while Trickster is only moderately entertaining--in a pity way, at that.

He's asking how she work now, not how she will work.
My guy, I'd say take a look at the wiki--it'll explain it better than I will right now, but I'll still try.
Spirit is normally a 110% killer with a relatively small terror radius--this is actually to your favor, as you can tell when she is phasing when you are outside the TR of the husk she leaves behind when using her power. That's when you'll hear that sound. She's supposed to hear footsteps and breathing when phasing, but that's bugged right now, so she doesn't; she can also see scratch marks but not blood while in her power. She will see any physical indications of your passing (footprints in snow and mud, disturbed grass and corn, etc.
Also, fun fact, you can make the husk vanish (along with the TR) by shining a flashlight on it.
-
Almo mentioned that they use it, but their requests are specific when sorting--so they won't check for how much fun everyone has against Freddy, but they will check how much fun they have in games where they escape against Freddy.
If a killer fails to get any kills, chances are their "fun rating" will be completely disregarded.
So on, and so forth. You get the idea.

It's not 'bending over backwards'. It's explaining why doing dull totems is an incredibly bad counter to NOED.
I've been explaining it over and over and over, and there's still clowns on this forum going 'just do bones' whenever someone points out that NOED is a horribly designed perk.
That's because it wasn't designed as a Hex perk--the change to a Hex and activation condition were a way to counter the perk instead of just getting screwed every time the killer had it.
I will say "just do bones" every time somebody suggests that NOED is overpowered, or that it should be removed. I only find it fair that I play around perks that I don't know if the killer has, because chances are more than likely that the killer will be doing the same for me.
Then again, I started playing this game around the time it came out, so my perspective on "fair" is probably a little off.

STRAP IN NERDS, IT'S MY TIME TO SHINE WITH MY STUPID THEMATIC BUILDS
Fire Up and Bamboozle on Legion means you can reach MAXIMUM OVERVAULT Pair it with endgame perks (NWO, Remember Me...) to drag the game out.
I've been using Dark Devotion and Nurse's, along with doubled range add-ons to snipe poor lads and lasses as they heal--it's surprisingly fun.
I've been trying to incorporate Dead Man's Switch into my Amanda builds for the hell of it--it works well enough with Pop, but I've been personally using Oppression, Iron Maiden, and Surveillance more, and it's tremendously amusing to me. If I want to slug the obsession to time my hooks, I just switch IM for Knock Out.
As I said in a different thread, I've been using Nemesis and Iron Maiden to play Uno reverse cards on people who Head On me.
PWYF and Fastening Tools on Trapper for "No hits Trapper" is a challenge, and actually fairly funny besides.
Playing "True Huntress" with a Red Forest offering, Agitation, Fire Up, Iron Grasp, and Hex: Huntress Lullaby can be entertaining: keep little girl survivors in your house and kill all others for trespassing on your property. Fair warning, this one makes people the most upset, because they tend to not understand that you're not exactly friendly, just posessive.
"Old Man Ghostface" can be entertaining, but you have to pair it with obligatory grouchy old man talk in post chat about the "Goddamn Kids On Your Lawn." Hoarder's and Franklin's will generally help you get in the mindset; be sure to find a building, structure, or general location to patrol--your goal isn't to kill people, it's to get them out of your property limits as fast as possible--Agitation tends to be helpful for hooking them further away, then coming back.
I'll post more later if I remember.

Perhaps switch out Hemorrhage for Exhausted or Incapacitated? It would have to give a little more oomph to fit on level with the rest--Hemorrhage is kinda "meh" as far as status effects go imo.
Other than that, this is hella cool--any ideas for other add-ons?
-
I mean, no matter if it's a tiny goth girl or big 'ol witch grandmama I'll be pretty happy. I've been waiting for those sweet, sweet survivor/crow interactions for quite some time.
That... Sounded weirder than intended. Hm.
-
Main her? No.
Play her? Yes~.
Rin be hella cute, so long as she's clothed. If she's default it's just uncomfortable imo.
I love this gill's design, but the fact that she was so hated was very off-putting. I like playing more than three matches in a row before I get death threats; the redesign will be refreshing, methinks.
-
I mean, Bubba started as what was essentially a worse copy of Billy, haha...
But right now, I'd objectively say Huntress tbh--not that she's not good, but her power design is pretty uninspired compared to literally everyone else over-all, even if the character design is neat and tragic. She literally throws axes, and that's it.
I'm legitimately surprised, because everyone else somehow has more complexity, even if those extra little bits and bobs make the character over-all worse. *side-eyes Tantrum and Overheat*
And Legion, obviously. Suzie be hella cute but she's still just the vessel of mending simulator.
I'm upset with my answer, but I'm more upset that I don't think I'm wrong? Huh.
-
I legitimately assumed that you wanted fun perk combos, and now I'm just disappointed. Still, I'll throw in my two cents:
I've been running Surge, Fire Up, NWO, and Hex: Plaything on Cenobite, and that's actually very entertaining.
I've found that Sloppy Butcher and Forced Penance work very well together on Legion (and other killers, but Legion is still the king of healthy to injured transitions)--I don't even use Thana anymore, because I wanted the space for Trail of Torment to get those "hello fellow survivors" moments. I'll likely be switching to Hysteria once I get it, tbh.
STBFL and Remember Me make for some disgusting endgame plays, which is always cool--I've been using that combo with Clown for funsies, and it works, surprisingly.
Bamboozle is hilarious on Hag, because nobody expects it, and it super [Bad Word] them up. Pair it with just about anything, imo, Hag is pretty strong on her own. On any killer you can combo Fire Up and Bamboozle for disgustingly fast vaulting--I was using this combo for a Infinite Tombstone Mikey, and I could literally just follow survivors through whatever windows they went through faster than they could.
Agitation is an amazing perk in general on any killer. Pair it with Lightborn and Starstruck and bait out flashy saves 😈.
PWYF is surprisingly good on Trapper-setting traps doesn't take a token, nor does catching someone in a trap. Use a perk to go undetectable, and you'll make survivors look at you instead of the ground.
Undying and Third Seal are surprisingly good. I've also seen people use Hex: Plaything with various blindness perks and add-ons.
Nemesis and Iron Maiden mean that people essentially kill themselves if they Head On you, which is hilarious every time.
Overcharge and Trail of Torment work very well together on new survivors and surprisingly well on even experienced survivors the first few times in a match.
Somehow Franklin's Demise works amazingly with Hex: Devour Hope. I don't understand how, but it lasts twice as long every time--as far as I'm aware, it's magic; that's not likely to change anytime soon and I'm perfectly okay with that.
I'll second Surge/Surveillance, though I personally use Oppression/Surveillance and some mad lads even use Ruin/Surveillance.
Will you use any of these? Probably not.
I'll still offer them, though. A suggestion's a suggestion, even if it's bad.

I hate to flex this hard, but I got his adept in my first match using him.
The survivors were over altruistic, and made it really easy to follow up with a down.
Lmao same~
As soon as the match loaded I knew the match was going to be unfair--it was the Silent Hill map we know and love.
When one of the survivors disconnected on their second down at four gens I knew the game was going to be ludicrously in my favor.
-
I mean, I literally can't travel up or down stairs using the chainsaw on any map except for the basement stairs on RCPD, so I'd say the collision maybe needs a little work, but it's possible that I'm just stupid or that the inability to traverse stairs at mach speed is intended.
-
Fun fact if nobody's said it yet--if you use enduring, it seems like you win at pallet trades more often. Might just be placebo, though, needs more testing.
-
I mean, throwing in my two cents, I'd rather that the bugs be fixed and have to play against the occasional Nurse that completely dominates the match. Theoretically, with SBMM (or whatever it's called) that nurse will end up playing against the best players anyway, and thus won't be preying on baby survivors.
I mean, it won't, and she will, but her bugs aren't going to be fixed anyway.
