So when I started this project I thought it would be impossible but this strategy actually works 100% of the time and a lot of YouTubers talk about it.
So you need
1. Adrenaline
2. Sprint Burst or lithe
3. Prove thyself
4. DS, streetwise, or borrowed time
Item: at least 2 survivors with toolboxes
When you see the killer and the killer chases you, just run straight and use your exhausted perk. When you get hit just run straight again. This chase will always last at least 80 seconds if you did it correctly. 3 gens will always be done. One person goes for the unhook and one person gets chased while the other is glued to a generator. After the save the two survivors jump on a generator immediately. The last 2 gens will pop before the survivor getting chased is downed. Adrenaline goes off and everyone is healthy and the end gates are powered.
I have tested this with a 4 man and it works legitimately every single time.
Cool, you and your friends were the [BAD WORD] I was playing against when trying to adept Huntress.
I had just de-ranked to ten, and I get a full team of [BAD WORD] red ranks. Red ranks running a setup that fully intends to play the game outside of an engaging way against a killer with garbage perks all at level two.
That put me off the game for days, I have better things to do than hate myself. I'd rather do something actually engaging and enjoyable, like Psychonauts, or Dark Souls, or System Shock. More evidence that the people who play this game amuse themselves by being [BAD WORD].
Neat.
-
I see both sides represented--not equally, but I do see both sides being pissy about things with their side backing them up and the other vilifying them.
Sorry you feel burnt-out on it, though. Try having some good old-fashioned hang-out time with your friends and come back to this mess later, yeah?

I agree she needs more reliable counterplay, so long as it doesn't nerf her into the ground. Any kind of sound cue that she is close while phased so the Survivor can quickly react while not giving up her attack angle, her husk glowing or having an animation when she uses her power, whatever. Just one thing to let someone know it's time to dump their drawers.
Technically, her husk does glow when phasing, it's just literally invisible. Like, seriously, the glass shards have a "faint glow" when she phases, and somehow survivors are expected to both see and react to that in regular lighting during a chase, somehow?
It doesn't work, by-the-by. You never really see it.
-
@RoboMojo I mean, Charlotte's in the right place, but Victor seems to be in the wrong tier!
I'll leave you to decidewhatthat tier is, of course. Not to mention that Suzie's at least C tier! (The other three are in the correct place, though)
-
Someone mentioned that unlocking the Claudette and Dwight masks wasn't working a little while back.
... So you can keep trying for it, but I'm fairly sure it won't be unlocking.
-
I managed to get fifteen games of Haddonfield back-to-back.
I was playing killer.
Other than that, I usually get Coldwind Farm, much to my dismay. Some Coldwind is okay, but entirely Coldwind the whole day is fairly counterproductive when I'm trying to do hypothetical things like, say, adept Myers again, because I earned that achievement, and I want it and know I can get it back
it's not that hard I swear to God STOP GIVING ME COLDWIND!*cough*

If that your thing and you got that kind of free time so be it. Since you have the free time to re-type messages in correct format maybe you can watch some youtube clips on Freddy so you have a better understanding of his FEW counters. Even if it's just a few he still has them. BRUH
Cool, you aren't actually reading my posts, you're just picking someone at random to "correct" and throw out your opinion to--I don't need to respond to you anymore, because you aren't actually offering any relevant discussion!
Just so you know, what you're saying isn't relevant to my posts. Try again some other time when you're paying attention.

Your right Your exact quote was "Playing him isn't fun or challenging like the old Freddy." Then why complain so much about him in this thread. Also it was clear in this thread you didn't understand everything about him and were aggressive towards other people responding to you. I mean you thought alarm clocks told fred were you are. Bruh!
I assumed they told him because I keep getting notifications near them when I play him!
... Also, my first response was to someone who said that "Freddy is an M1 killer if you play your cards right." I responded with "yes, but actually no, here's why I disagree."
People seemed to take this as "FrEddY OP PLZ nERf," and I'm really not getting the reasoning behind that assumption.
It's fair to say I don't understand everything about Freddy. I acknowledged that already and tipped my figurative hat to those who corrected me--don't "Bruh!" at me as though I told you that you're wrong with nothing else of substance. Aggression my keister!
Also, fixing your formatting:
You're right, Your exact quote was "Playing him isn't fun or challenging like the old Freddy."
Then why complain so much about him in this thread!?
Also you made it clear in this thread that you don't understand everything about him not to mention you were aggressive towards other people responding to you.

Sorry if you take offence to the above fixes, the layout and grammatical mistakes were bothering me. Feel free to tell me off for it, it's just something I needed to do, like eating M&Ms in matching pairs or sorting books by color.

There is something that everyone don't like just got to deal and adapt. When I'm killer I don't like toolboxes with BnP and Prove thyself because I feel there's more than enough resources in most maps (not all) that average survivors can keep/extend chases long enough to win games. The way some of these maps spawn is beyond absurd so 4 survivors who don't have to be great but just understand to be on gens anytime they are not in chase, healing, or rescuing is tough to deal with time wise and that's were most of the tunneling, slugging, and proxy camping come from. We all just got to deal not make forum post about freddy, spirit, DS, UB, SB, yata, yata, yata. Neither side truthfully gives a ######### anymore. Survivors should be able to run what they want and a killer should be able to not only run what he want but use the killer he Fuki**g paid for with being shamed on the forums, end game chat, xbox messages, where ever. ALL killers require skill or there kill rates would be 100% some just need way more than others.
Side note Freddy is more than capable to be beaten. I played my final match to get him to P3 lvl 50 last night and a Nea escaped through the gate. Yeah there were 4 gens left but so what she escaped. It can be done.
So when exactly did I say he was unbeatable?
Because people keep spouting that off like broken records in my general direction, and I'm questioning why.
The rest of your post is completely fair, btw. I have no issues and even agree with what you're saying--but in that case I should be able to play old Freddy.
You know. The killer I paid for?
Anyway, aggression aside, you have a right to your opinion, and I agree with it.

Complaining that you can't call out traps to your SWF while complaining about an op killer is ironic
Your op thing is fine and just a challenge but anything strong of semi challenging to deal with on the killer side must be deleted.
I question the tone that I'm getting from you right now.
Bit of an assumption that I play swf when I'm just trying to be inclusive for "the lads" who do actually play pure swf. Also an assumption that I have to be on comms to call out the killer/totems/traps/gen progress/perks/etc. It's not impossible, just harder.
Yes, SWF is hard for killers to play against. Yes, it can be very unfair for new killers. Yes, bully squads are comprised of [BAD WORD] folks.
That doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to dislike Freddy, get off your high horse.
By the by, I enjoy playing killer frequently, and I still hate Freddy. Playing him isn't fun or challenging like the old Freddy.
He didn't need to be "standardized," he was hard for a reason.

Waking up via alarm clock, or by another player, doesn't notify the killer in any way (besides the asleep status silently disappearing from their portrait). Only waking up via failing a skill check alerts the killer, and that's because the failed skill check is the notification, not the waking up itself.
Also, Freddy doesn't start with his teleport available; it's fully drained at the start.
Good to know! Time to figure out what the [BAD WORD] all those notifications are near alarm clocks, I guess!
Fair point with the "waking up with other players" point, I forgot about that, my bad.
Also good to know on the teleport! I don't enjoy playing Freddy enough to remember fine details like that, so it's appreciated that you corrected me!

If you wake up with a alarm clock he have no notification the trap are behind the chased survivor and you can only get hit if you are asleep. The teleport is after 1 minute in the game that mean if 2 survivor spawn on a gen 1 gen can get complete before he can even use is power. Freddy have a lot for him but those thing are not op if some survivor have basic knowledge.
Ah, I see, your information is outdated!
He can hit you at any time now. Just so you know.
I'm also dead certain the alarm clocks give a notification.
I'd have to check, but I'm fairly certain he starts with the teleport ready, and (even if he doesn't) unless the player goes in the wrong direction they'll usually start fairly close to survivors (or know spawns enough to make accurate guesses), thus disallowing the completion of any gens quite that quickly.

His traps (or pallets) can be set on the move with little to no effort and basically no time expended on setup, said traps can't be called out or seen immediately, he doesn't have to do anything to make you fall asleep but he can and will, and waking up gives him a notification unless you're using Feng's perk and sacrificing extra gen progress.
Yeah, "just an M1 killer," huh? Not seeing what you mean, care to elaborate?

Why not camp? fast gens and bad maps leave little incentive not to. Especially on killers with weak chase but good defense.

Unpopular opinion that's probably already been said:
This game is RNG sided.
Sometimes you get the best setup to work with, and the game progresses like a dream.
Sometimes all Hexes get cleansed immediately and the Gens are done on three minutes with no hooks because you were playing a killer for the first time at rank sixteen against a four man swf in red ranks.
That's just how it is. I hate it, but all I can do is shut up and take it, really.

I feel like people may have taken my title a little too literally... I just wanted to know the little things like snoot booping and stuff that has become 'a thing' in the game (or little things you've personally come up with in groups you may play with), not that they're the a b s o l u t e law. I had no idea that other people had used the arm flapping to warn for camping, so that was news to me.
TBH, most people seem to understand that the killer is camping on the way to the hook (unless they're using Insidious, of course).
Personally, I throw my arms up if they're just camping so they have to listen to the survivor grunt and moan (covering other sounds), and twitch lightly if the killer was camping, but just left.
So far, this seems to work.
Also, I'm told two evenly-spaced taps of crouch is a salute or "thank you."

lol no offense but it feels like you're grasping here.
Nobody does bones hence why survivors are online everyday complaining about NOED. Nobody but rank 20's "map the area", and early game nobody needs to heal. For the most part people with thousands of hours just get on with the objective.
Offense taken as you intended~
Good survivors find the time to do bones. Bad survivors die to NOED. I believe it's called "natural selection."
... Or is that a different game? Also, I notice you didn't counter-argue with literally any of my other points and zeroed in on bones, thanks for making this response easier~
EDIT: [BAD WORD] I'm not good at this "don't be condescending" thing. Imagine I'm patting you on the back amicably and handing you some snack you like while you read that, I'm a little to tired to fix the tone properly...
-
I personally love any perk that makes you go undetectable--Trail of Torment can be absolutely hilarious, because survivors will basically walk up to you before they realize something's wrong.
Thana is a given, Deathbound, Stridor, and Forced Penance are surprisingly good, Bamboozle allows for faster vaulting, Nurse's to check for healing, Surge to automatically regress nearby gens (to save time on breaking), etc.
Whispers, Thrilling, and I'm All Ears are good on just about every killer.
Not really a build, per say, but I cycle through perks for fun to try new combos when I can, so just take from that mess what you like, I guess.

Regular DBD isn't like that? have you seen the posts here? sounds like everyone is having it.
People might not have call outs and full co-ordination but in general a survivor is going to try and loop the killer for as long as possible, and the rest are either on gens or they're not. There's no inbetween. If they're green ranks they're likely playing it safe, if they're red ranks they're very likely on gens and thus 2:30 games ARE actually common in DBD. Hence the term "genrush" and the billions of videos complaining about all 5 gens being done in 3 minutes.
I mean, they could be doing bones, mapping the area, learning pallet layout for loops for when they get chased, disabling traps, healing--there's a lot that good survivors can do while another is in chase. You just usually only see extremes, and that makes for quick, frustrating games that don't live up to their full potential.
I mean, I can't disagree with the initial point of "going to loop for as long as possible," seeing as that's pretty much a given...

On the internet it is difficult to determine tone so when someone goes out of their way to communicate condescension it comes across as... condescending. If you have issues (your own words) "Every time." you try to have a discussion then maybe there is an issue with how you communicate. On the internet you have to go out of your way to have tone interpreted whether you're being a jerk or being polite. Your post to me seemed clear that you were going out of your way to be condescending.
----So, uh, I hate to say that you're incorrect, but you're not exactly correct, so...?---
That's condescending and not coming from someone who is looking for intelligent discourse. If someone is wants to share ideas and grow from other people's perspectives then they phrase things differently than this. When someone comes at the discussion like this, the discussion ends. I won't continue to engage with this. I may be wrong to drop it the way I did and that's on me, but now you know my thought process.
Fair enough, I can't argue with that--s'why I prefer to chat face-to-face with folks I suppose, tone comes across immediately.
I'm told I speak with my whole body, so the lack of that's probably sweeping my proverbial legs out from under me here.
Hm.
Well, thanks for any kind of feedback, really.
I find it inherently validating to speak with others, so getting a chance to improve is always nice.
Jesus, why, I still sound insincere. Well, you get my intention, I hope. -

sigh.. do i really have to go into depth about why keys are broken?
some scenarios- 3 survivors are left and they can just open hatch without finishing all 5 gens
-you are chasing a survivor , about to down them then they find the hatch and open it
-some addons let you see where the killer is
seems balanced right? if you want more proof why keys are unfair, go watch one of otz's videos about keys. i forgot which one it was but he literally had to camp where someone died because there was a pink key there and the survivors could just take it and all escape. (which they did)
I--I don't think you have to say anything? I'm not entirely sure what the OP's point is, to be honest...
Still, I don't hate keys--If someone escapes with a key, I just consider it a loss on their end.
After all, if they're looking to leave with just a key, then the gates were never opened, which means my primary goal is presumably completed to a "good enough" level.
Maybe I'm wrong, I donno, It's up to how you feel, I guess? -
I love hearing that I'm right without having to say a word.
It's super ego-boosting.
To clarify: the people who are saying that Hag is both hard to play and play against while still being rewarding and engaging are my new favorite non-friend people. Too often I try to make this point and get told I'm stupid and that I've clearly never played this game ever.
Yes, flashlights are good against hag, but they don't disarm traps, they set them off early.
Yes, you can crouch past her traps, but you can't easily do so in chase and must instead choose your loops wisely.
Yes, she can trap the map to have an oppressive presence, but as soon as she picks someone up good survivors will be hitting (and setting off) every trap on the map just to waste her time.
Both sides to the coin are valid. Hag isn't boring, she's different.
... And there's nothing wrong with being different.
-
I mean, I'm not saying that I feel cheated
,but I feel cheated.Unnecessary post is unnecessary, I know, I know--it'll get fixed when it's fixed and all that drivel.
I get it, it's harder than it looks. You're not ignoring it or setting it to the side.
No need for any rants on my part about how more content extends the lifespan of the game while adding issues to existing content.

Do not feel bad for playing her, that's exactly what survivors want: to shame killers for picking X killer or Y perks. Meanwhile survivors can abuse all the BS that they have and still tbag and trash talk at the endgame.
I get that you're trying to get me to feel better about myself with a pep-talk, but you've failed right off the bat by assuming that I let other people dictate how I feel!
Spirit's pretty easy. Her movement's fantastic, her controls tight, I hate every moment.
She's cute as hell, as much as I hate to admit that (mostly because it sounds hella perverted) but I want to actually have to try in a match. She isn't fun to play, that's where the uncleanliness is coming from.
Thanks for trying to cheer me up by discarding the value of other human beings their opinions, though!
Wait, that sounds really hostile, my bad?@ProfGameAndTalk said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2007945#Comment_2007945
I honestly don't understand this logic. Spirit can't see the survivor when she is phasing. She also can't hear the survivor if they aren't injured or if they're running Iron Will. Have you played with Spirit and gotten 4ks right off the bat? I'm 200 hrs into the game and a rank 4 Spirit and I still get run by good survivors. I'm honestly not trying to insult you or other survivors, but every time I see a 'nerf this or that killer' post it all devolves down to them not wanting to get better at playing against the killer, just wanting the game to be easier.
I've worked at getting better with Spirit, making reads and learning loops, discovering consistencies with how survivors try to exit certain tiles. Go watch some vids on how to play against Spirit and RUN IRON WILL!
Actually, you can both hear and see them.
You can hear the sounds of their footsteps (as well as their panting while sprinting)
and see the wake of their path (be that in corn, grass, snow, etc.)
So, uh, I hate to say that you're incorrect, but you're not exactly correct, so...?
Also, I get that Iron Will is a great perk, really, I do--but bringing a perk isn't counterplay, it's countering a kit. There is a difference, I promise.

In case you couldn't tell, thatwassarcasm. Just to communicate clearly.Silly tactics at five gens are downright unfriendly. A bit unsportsmanlike, one might say.
It may not be the "job" of the killer to make the game fun for others, but punishing people for no reason's a bit off, yeah?
...Maybe I'm just an idealist. -

I've also seen the psychopaths who t-bag at the exit gate...
While injured...
Against Deathslinger.
Yeah.
-
People trying to adept who are clearly suffering.
There's more, but that's what's on my mind right now.
-
Survivors:
- Jake Park: Has two stealth perks that most people tend to overlook.
- Nea Karlsson: Hiding, support, and an exhaustion perk.
- Laurie Strode: Obsession perks that benefit survivors are a good trade-off. Also, a classic final girl.
- David Tapp: Tenacity to help when slugged, Stakeout to incentivize hiding near the killer, and Detective's Hunch to help with totems--all around helpful perks to have.
- Jane Romero: Alternative healing that incentivizes being with teammates, a perk that allows escape from a finished generator, and a stunning perk, offering a well-rounded kit.
- Steve Harrington: Kind of all support perks, but they're useful enough.
- Zarina Kassir: Stealth, Healing, and diversion all in one tiny package!
HeatherCheryl Mason: Anti-obsession perks, blocking, and the sweet, sweet nectar of taking a hit from a killer that just tried to re-slug you (which also combos with For The People, which is cool).- Felix Richter: A nice set of perks for beginners, better yet they give utility for higher play (Desperate Measures is also anti-thana, which is very neat).
- Élodie Rakoto: More chest utility, a mindgame perk, and a perk to buy you time and get you killed!
The problem with taking survivors off of the board is that some of their perks would then almost need to be placed into rotation (Empathy, Vigil, Borrowed Time, Alert, Fixated, etc.), and I feel that goes against the spirit of this thread...
Killers:
- Trapper: While not the strongest, he is the most satisfying to play, and is the "mascot" as it were. There might actually not be a better feeling in this game than watching a survivor walk directly into a trap.
- Nurse: She plays differently than most killers, and that diversity is actually really good for the health of this game.
- Shape: The other stealth killers are almost cooler (and better designed), but I like Mikey a bit more. Mechanically, he's not as good, but if the others aren't there more changes could be made to his power. Still, he's not bad, if a bit too addon/perk reliant.
- Hag: Honestly, not sure about her place here--but her ability is unique, and that's the first criteria for my cut-off point...
- Huntress: Probably the best all-around ranged killer out of all of them--Deathslinger can shut down loops a bit much and Trickster is a style win but a mechanics fail.
- Cannibal: Fulfills all my chainsaw needs! Also, I like the feel of his sprint more than Billy's, and the dichotomy of the tantrum mechanic is very flavorful.
- Pig: Amanda is my favorite and I love her, even if she isn't amazing...
- Plague: Very unique power, and she's oddly endearing! Sets up the diversity of play that's good for the game.
- Oni: Has the best charging ability out of the killers--there's a requirement that encourages you to play the game, and he has a good amount of synergy with normally unused effects! 10/10, would keep again.
- Executioner: I actually really like the alternate hooks, and the built-in mori is made just so in a way that isn't overpowered while still being viable. The trails and skillshot are also very well designed, if a little punishing to traditional survivor mechanics.
Killers have some of the same problem with their perks as survivors do--mitigated due to their base kit, of course.

I mean, I'd love for Laurie to not give me crazy-eyes every time I load into a match with her.
Or maybe for Meg to have any kind of facial movement at all.
Perhaps for Quentin to have a slightly smaller chin? Less of a cleft?
Seriously, though, Laurie's eyes give me more anxiety than the killer right now. -
I've been reported for "pretending to farm."
Playing Amanda: They tried to boop, I shook my head no and hit them.
They still didn't run, so I downed them.
Their teammate ran up to the hook to save them, so I down the teammate and pick them up.
Another teammate comes in for the save.
I drop the first rescuer--they immediately DC.
It was all-around a mess. I ended up giving the last survivor an easy time because I felt bad that they got screwed over because some Fengs didn't understand that when I said no, I meant no.
(To clarify: it was the DC'd survivor and their friend who got all prissy about it.) -

Ah, yes, a Shape of culture.
You have my vote, flavor wins are always hella nice.

I mean, I'd love to have the yellow map offerings back in the Bloodweb...

I've actually come to love Franklin's/Hoarder on Huntress--the visible panic moment after you knock the item out of their hands is legitimately kind of funny (the hatchet doesn't proc it, so they don't know until you come in for an m1).
Also, nobody expects Hoarder, so it makes for surprisingly good detection.

That still doesn't justify why the new killer is getting all the hate especially being "K-POP" (AKA pretty boy look) influenced.
Leatherface, Ghostface, Legion, Pig and Myers are all general human beings with nothing magical about them.
The only difference is that they all hide their mugs in some hideous, grotesque masks that cover their faces.
They could look like models for all we know.
My point is.
Just because the new killer is a pretty boy and doesn't have some Halloween mask like the other human killers doesn't make him unfit for the franchise.
I like his story and motif. He is a ruthless killer.
It's DEAD by daylight
not SCARED by daylight.
A-Amanda's pretty.
I mean, I thought she was pretty in the films.
Lots of the killers are remarkably close to regular folks though, and the beauty therein is subjective, I guess.
My main problem with the bright colors on the killer is blending in from a distance--how will I cross the map in the open and surprise survivors whe--oh, wait. Nevermind.
In all seriousness, I think he's fine. I don't like him, but I don't have to.
I'll still buy him, of course, but the point still stands. -
Can spirit not have jiggle physics?
I mean, I'm not saying scantily-clad ambiguously old teenager
, but I just did, so, uh, sorry? -

Well, the entity has a strange moral compass to don't take people under 18, so we can assume that it also has a weakness for old ladies
Right, Right, "doesn't take people under 18," we believe that line.
Sideways look a Spirit.
Totally.
Squints at Feng.
Absolutely the truth and not conveniently glossing over details in any way.
In all seriousness, though, I understand why it's necessary. I'm not complaining, just ribbing a bit. -

Yeah obviously everyone using BBQ looks at the floor when they hook or closes their eyes so they can't see the auras.
The information (or lack of) that BBQ gives you is very helpful. I'm well aware the main reason it's used is for bloodpoints, but you are kidding yourself saying it's not useful.
I mean, most of the time, yes, but It's getting hilarious the amount of times where I get a hook and then proceed to see nothing except a guy halfway across the map getting into a locker mid-barbeque, and all I can think is
"[BAD WORD].
"They're all here.
"Welp, nothing for it but to grab that poor sucker and wait out this rescue from over there."

Honestly, I'd love more power shifts for various killers.
I mean, personally, I'd like the snares to come from an add-on rather than pallets for old Fredster
, but what do I know--I'm told all my ideas are terrible. -
Deathslinger, as a thank-you for being a hard-working gentleman against corporate corruption and the manipulations of the sociopolitical elite--even if that was only a happy coincidence from his moderately unrelated vendetta.
Hats off to you, Mr. Quinn.
