The new Legion
This is my idea for how they could rework Legion to make them a lot more unique, and a lot more fun to play, without making them ridiculously overpowered. First thing's first, his power. It's being changed slightly and called something different, so no more feral frenzy, kind of, more on that later.
New power: Unleash the Hoard
Press and hold the power button to unleash one of the other members of the legion, (much like how Charlotte and Victor work, without the stomach). They move at high speed and gain the ability to vault pallets (same as current legion). Hitting a survivor during this time injures them like normal, but no longer inflicts deep wounds (more on this later). You also no longer receive killer instinct for injuring survivors, but can now see blood and scratch marks at all times. Hitting a survivor while your power is active now applies a different status affect based upon which member of the legion you currently are. Once you hit a survivor while your power is active it immediately refreshes the power bar and unleashes the next member. This power has 3 charges for each member past the first, and unleashing a member consumes one charge. You can now down a survivor while using your power, but all three charges must be used on the same survivor for it to down. If the survivor is already injured, the first attack only applies it's status affect and all 3 charges must be used still.
You can use the activate ability button to revert back to the last member you were, ending the power early.
Stunning the legion also ends the power early. Keeping you in the current member.
If your power bar runs out before getting another hit in your power ends.
Once the power ends early, you receive a small 1 second recovery. (Like legion currently but much less).
You do not receive this recovery time if you down a survivor during while your power is active. You simply stay as the current member and revert back to normal speed.
I really wanted this power to feel unique while offering different options based upon how you want to play them. You can choose to focus one survivor and down them, or choose to try and spread out your status effects so that survivors have to cleanse totems, therefore slowing the game down just a little.
Also, with this change, making it to where you can have your own custom loadout of legion, choosing which order your members unleash when using your power. Giving you even more options for your style of play.
Speaking of status effects, as stated before each one will have their own affect that get stronger based upon the add-ons you choose.
Frank: Hitting a survivor while using Frank during unleash the horde inflicts the deep wounds status effect. Must mend to remove like normal.
Susie: Hitting a survivor while using Susie during unleash the horde inflicts the blindness status effect. Must cleanse any totem (hex or dull) to remove.
Julie: Hitting a survivor while using Julie during unleash the horde inflicts the Mangled status effect. Must cleanse a totem or fully heal to remove.
Joey: Hitting a survivor while using Joey during unleash the horde inflicts the Hemorrhage status effect. . Must cleanse a totem to remove.
Being put into the dying state or being unhooked also cleanses the status affect.(This way you still have a bit of counter play if all totems are cleansed.) Also keeps the killer from just leaving you slugged with a bunch of debuffs.
And finally, some of the add-ons. You'll still have ones that affect things like power recovery, but you'll also have ones that are specific to that member, to help empower your playstyle more.
First, the Iridescent add-ons.
Iridescent button: Requires one less hit to put the survivor in the dying state. Meaning instead of having to hit them with 3 different members, you only have to hit them with two.
Fuming mixed tape will be reworked into a new one
Mix tape-All for me: You are limited to only one member, and only one charge, but that member gains the status affects of all members while using their power. Their power no longer downs survivors. Trumps all other add-ons.
Purple add-ons:
Mix tape-Feral Frenzy: You now longer see blood stains or scratch marks. However hitting a survivor inflicts the deep wounds, refills your power, and grants you killer instinct on survivors not inflicted with deep wounds. Trumps all other add-ons.
Frank's mixed tape: Reduces the survivors mend bar and increases the amount it takes for a survivor to mend while inflicted with deep wounds.
Susie's mixed tape: Makes Susie's attacks inflict the oblivious status effect, but only lasts 20 seconds.
Julie's mixed tape: Makes Julie's attacks inflict the broken status affect, but only lasts 60 seconds.
Joey's mixed tape: Causes a survivors blood to be considerably more discernable than normal.
Those are the only perks I'm listing right now, but most of the others would be changed to kinda fit into that archetype perks.
I know it's long, but I'd love to hear thoughts on the idea.
Comments
Perhaps switch out Hemorrhage for Exhausted or Incapacitated? It would have to give a little more oomph to fit on level with the rest--Hemorrhage is kinda "meh" as far as status effects go imo.
Other than that, this is hella cool--any ideas for other add-ons?
I picked Hemorrhage because it fits with Joey's personality as the show off, and also because I didn't want the base status effects to be too overpowered, but it could be changed. I would maybe make exhaustion into one of the add-ons, because it can be strong. But I wouldn't put incapacitated on. Just because of legions speed and ability to catch up. Could you imagine a doctor shocking you and then running full sprint at you? Lol it's terrifying
But I love the feedback and ideas.
And yes I have thought about them.
Blades could reduced the cooldown on consecutive attacks, like save the best for last does. So if you use your power, then hit someone, the following members cooldown would be reduced, and then the following one would be reduced further. With each add-on getting slightly stronger based on rarity, naturally.
Buttons could do something like increasing time it takes to cleanse totems. Starting with slightly and going up to considerably.
i always liked the idea of all 4 of them chasing you but couldn't figure out how to go about it
That was my exact idea behind this. Why am I only using one??? They're supposed to be a legion! I really wanted the ability to give them a unique power that involves using all of them in one match, without being too strong.
Originally i thought that was the whole point of calling them "The Legion" (The Many). Then we have this.
Just sounds like old legion with extra steps
TBH, current Legion is old Legion with extra steps anyway.
I didn't want to change his power to crazy to where they lose their identity. But I wanted to incorporate all of them, while still giving him back some of his kill potential without making that potential too overpowered. I find this gives more diversity, and balance to them, and would bring them up to where other killers are as far us viability.
