distortion is survivor perk that hides your aura what you on bro.

OoO is a powerhouse perk having a way to keep using it and hide your aura as you do the objective would be extremely OP which is why i mentioned OoO.

You made the comment that Distortion doesn’t hide your aura while repairing gens because OoO exists. It DOES hide your aura while repairing gens so the only way OoO would erase that ability is if you yourself chose to use that perk, too. Just don’t do it!

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

distortion needs a buff mainly a way to get more tokens.

I would say that it would be fine if it hided your aura if you were repairing or cleansing but OoO exists...

What does that have to with anything? Object of Obsession is a survivor perk not a killer’s. Just don’t be stupid enough to use both at the same time.

I'm pretty sure there is no bug. The aura reveal only triggers when you get into totem range (2m). You are not revealed for the entire time you stay there. If you lost 2 stacks on one totem, you left the range and got back in again. I can confirm that I only lost one stack for cleansing a totem. The only other possibility would be that he had Hex: Retribution as well, to consume the stack after a hex cleanse.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1812609#Comment_1812609

No. a single perk should not be the reason to buff Distorion beyond horizon and therefore rip all other possible aura reading setups. In addition: Distortion is not meant to give you aura immunity. Just for a limited time. Most of all, it gives you information. Also when you never lose a stack the entire match. Like "killer has no BBQ, no nurses, no Undying..." And after getting this info, you get the possibility to outplay the perks you know about. Or allows you to not waste time in lockers to counter a non existent BBQ

I am not leaving the aura range and losing tokens, so you’re wrong about that. I am just sitting there cleansing a totem. I lose a token and then while I’m cleansing distortion’s refresh wheel ends halfway through and immediately spends a second token. This is happening over multiple rounds and retribution is not involved. It sure seems like a bug to me.

Other than that I have no problem with the number of tokens I am given. I don’t want the perk to be a total crutch.

  • Except if you don’t die right away then the killer will KNOW that you have Deliverance. So he’ll just stand there and whack you as soon as you hop off anyways.

  • I didn’t report it mainly because what the person was trying to do didn’t work. I didn’t even get hooked that round. I just thought it was stupid because he was bringing more attention to himself than to me.

Thinking about it, I wouldn’t at all be surprised if it was a grade schooler. I saw this behavior all of the time when I played Friday the 13th except it was always more obvious because of mics.

I think you are missing out in regards to Calm Spirit. I rarely play without it. It makes bank.

I agree. I myself don’t always use it, but It’s really handy against The Doctor or any killer running Infectious Fright. I try to pair it with Iron Will some times.

  • I’m finding that it takes about 4-5 hrs to complete 1 tier without doing any of the challenges. I’ve been trying to do at least that much a day. I started the rift about a week late, and now I’m 5 days ahead of schedule (tier 54). This time around I haven’t been doing all of the killer challenges, because I don’t have the Clown and I’m just not good enough at chainsawing people as Billy.

  • I just got out of a five minute round against a Legion going beyond Blight speed perpetually, and not only that but seemingly able to see their auras at all times. Bug or cheat? The person playing like this didn’t have any guilt at all about it.

  • @FabsRinas said:

Alright, now make keys open the hatch ONLY after the killer closes it and triggers end game collapse

    No.

I have no problems with the way both keys and moris are (or were) working. Neither one play a factor in the vast majority of games I am in. If some lucky soul manages to find the trap door before the killer and escape, so what? If a killer manages to pull off a mori or two, so what? It mixes things up a bit. Nobody should be entitled to getting their 4 kills in or surviving to a second hooking. And honestly, the way that matchmaking is new killers need any advantage they can get against advanced survivors. It isn’t uncommon to see a rank 15 killer up against rank 2 survivors.

  • I’m just annoyed because I haven’t got the 4 kills by own hand trophy yet. Came close recently but the last person crawled away and by pure luck found the hatch. Grr. Now it makes an already difficult challenge 400% harder.

Killer population is on life support.

I'm getting mismatched rank with Killers above Rank 15 while the survivors was at Purple-red ranks

Which more or less guarantees that those rank 15 killers are unlikely to get any lower. A few games with red rank survivors is educational, but there are few people willing to put up with that aggravation every. single. match.

  • @zoozoom6 said:

depends on what rank u are looking in. you're not going to see it in red ranks

    Wrong.

  • It happened to me just today. I wasn’t anywhere even close to the shack basement but he somehow got me on that damned hook before I could escape. He walked past two friggin hooks to get me there. The second he went to stand in the corner I killed myself and went on to the next game. He tunneled me from within the first 30 seconds I spawned and didn’t get a damned thing done. I wasn’t going to waste the entire match being bait. Find another butt monkey, Bubba!

    Crouching works or:

    5. Survivor unhooks before Victor can attack.

    6. Victor attacks and since there are 2 survivors he gets kicked

    7. Charlotte lost whoever she was chasing and Victor lost whoever he was camping.

And it doesn’t help that Victor can’t see trails either. Its crap.

  • The thing that I’m coming to hate about Victor is that he is only good 1-1. If you attack somebody that is with somebody he is crushed and the person healed before you can do a thing about it. Plus, there isn’t any way to track where he is when he is attached like you can when he is standing there. That is simply ridiculous. If the Twins are linked then they should remain linked at all times. They need to stop treating Victor as if he is Charlotte’s weapon and treat him like he is one half of a whole.

  • Drinking two beers in 20 minutes is “casual”? I’ve drank my fair share of beer over the years, but I’d consider that practically chugging.

  • @Wesker09 said:

It makes no sense and it's super frustrating. I get the whole "lockers victor" but to be fair he's really fast and it's actually kinda hard to dodge him so I think lockers are fair but holy ######### going into the locker and getting downed or pounced on it's so annoying

So just don’t get in them. It’s basically what you have to adjust to when the killer is using Iron Maiden.

  • On PS4, I’d be simply happy if his pounce could be activated with one button instead of two.

Oh, and a way to actually keep the person with Victor on him from leaving through the gate. Yes it technically does work, but it doesn’t make a difference if the can just lean against it and then crawl out the second you down them anyways.

  • You can only use Deliverance on your first hook. If I have already saved one person and have it activated then you’re damned right I’m going to use it otherwise it’s a wasted perk. I don’t care if somebody rushed over to save me. They should have been working on a gen for as long as possible for making that attempt.

  • Overrated. 99% of games I would outlast it’s use time, and with that remaining 1% I would mess up the skill check half the time because I would forget I was even using the perk. Learn to live without it and it will only make you a better player.

  • It also seems like the only smart play left in red rank games where most killers only hook the second to last survivor if they already know where the hatch is. You can often get a hint of that by how far they will walk for that hook. Usually it’ll be as close to the hatch as possible.

  • I got one of these the other day. I’m fairly sure my teammates knew that I didn’t quit on purpose because we all could see each others auras and I was actively running towards a hook save. Who quits like that? Anyways, my PS4 crashed and I got punished for 3 minutes, which sucks but it isn’t uncommon for me to wait 2-3 times that long for a lobby anyways so big deal. Pretty damned stupid though.

  • I hate these rounds, and it seems like I’m always the odd man out left to pick up the pieces. A veritable musical chairs where the moment I get one person out of the dying state another one gets hooked. The one I just revived stupidly runs over for the hook save and gets downed. Rinse and repeat. It’s enough to make me want to just stand in the corner of the map and let them die, but for some reason I don’t.

  • I think they at best can confuse people about which killer they’re dealing with for a few seconds. Not worth spending real cash money on afaic.

  • @Klakky said:

Nah bro it's just u, after a while u don't need small game nor detectives hunch, u just find them cause u know general areas of their spawns.. not hard to find them I play both recently more survivor than killer

No, I know the general locations and the obvious spawn points. I’m not new. It’s not “just me”. They’re clearly redesigned to not pop out as easily as they did before.

Guess i'm lucky cause I have taken DS out of my builds because i almost never get to use it.

Same here. I got so little use out of it that I would often screw up the skill check because I would forget that I even had it. I prefer perks that are less situational and more of a benefit across the game.

  • @PokemonGOPlayer said:

If you are not running a combination of DS, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time and Unbreakable with maybe one of them changed with something like Iron Will and you are in Red Ranks, you are a liability to your team.

The only one of those that I ever use is BT. And Iron Will. But rarely together and a lot of times not at all. If everybody uses those perks it makes things boring. Your concept of what’s good for the team is pretty limited. If every player has builds meant for hook saves and direct confrontation with the killer then you do it at the sacrifice of escape. Someone still needs to be working on gens and cleansing totems while you attend to that BS and that usually falls to people like me. There is room in this game for more than one play style.

  • I’ve levelled up my Elodie to rank 43 and still haven’t found spine chill in the bloodweb. I don’t play any character without spine chill, but I did play her once to try her out and to earn the Adept trophy. If I was to play her right now I’d have to settle on less than preferred perks.

For the same reason that OP gets Ormond. Both realms have temporary increased odds of appearance after the update.

This isn’t just from the update. Autohaven has ALWAYS been the go to map for the game for as long as I’ve played. In comparison, most of the time even now after the update I still only get Ormond with an offering.

  • I don’t know. Why the hell do I get Autohaven 70% of the time?

9/10 games I loop the killer enough time AFTER I DS them, they leave me and patrol gens.

I'm left alone to heal and to do gens.

I’m currently a rank 1/rank 2 survivor but I’m still not a strong looper. It’s not really my play style. While a lot of people love actively engaging in the killer, I get more of a thrill from seeing what I can get away with right under their noses.

  • I haven’t used that perk in over a year and haven’t missed it. I figure if somebody is really camping that hook and is going to tunnel me then decisive strike is just going to extend the chase by a few seconds. Maybe I’d get away, but probably not. And if people are going to attempt to rescue me from an unsafe hook without BT, then please for the love of god just put me out of my misery so I don’t have to play with idiots any more!

  • Jeesh. If you didn’t want people to refer to Victor as a baby, then you probably SHOULDN’T have made him look like a baby. Either accept it or redesign it to look more like an Alien Chestburster or something. Usually when you try to stop people from doing something it only makes them want to do it more.

  • Except hitting anyone other than the wounded survivor only slows you down, allowing them to get further away. In my experience even one of these blocks is usually enough to get the intended target to the gate.

  • They seem to expand it when they give you free bloodpoints. They gave everybody 300,000. Once those are spent it will probably return to 1,000,000 max.

Not only that, but they excell at the tactics that survivors despise. I.E. camping and slugging.

Making them feel a lot more powerful than they actually are.

As they are, they’re not even particularly good at slugging. Victor’s speed is not enough to make up for the time it takes for Charlotte to find the person and hook them even if they do get downed. And that’s if somebody isn’t there to heal them first. That’s a lot of time wasted not patrolling gens.

  • I wonder what would happen if they gave the killer the ability to opt out of swf lobbies like you already can with crossplay? I don’t have to wonder too hard how swf groups would respond, but it would be an interesting experiment.

  • I tried to body block one of the doors to the shack and Victor just got stuck when I activated him.

There are always people who complain about everything.

I'm like yourself when the killer slugs at the beginning. But sometimes this happens without your intention or because of dumb teammates. Or because you all spawned together and u got sniped by Billy for example.

I for myself have no fun in crushing Survivors like that. It is boring.

It’s funny that you mention Billy because that is exactly what happened earlier today. We all spawned together, he was onto us in seconds, for the next ten minutes it was just one person falling and hooked after another. By some miracle I totally escaped detection and maxed out on hook saves. Eventually I just said hell with this BS, left them to their fate and went to the other side of the map to try and get something else done, mainly cleansing because gens seemed pointless against a guy that was probably running tinkerer anyways. I never did get hooked until the end. Lol

  • The Twins have potential, but it’s difficult to say how much because of the glitches. Half the time when I unleash Victor he seems to get stuck in place. Just discovered at the end of the last match that you can leap out of it, but still, it shouldn’t be happening. The controls are a bit wonky, and honestly the wait time between switching between characters is way too long. It should really be as simple as a click like a split screen. Also it should be as easy to see Victor on someone as it is to see him just standing there. It should feel a lot more like you’re really controlling two different people and not just using a weapon of some sort.

Also, when Victor is on someone they’re not supposed to be able to do anything, not even escape. However, people are still throwing down pallets and what’s the point of not allowing people to escape if they can just lean into the barred exit gate until you come along and hit them, at which point they can crawl out? They should make it so that at least ten seconds elapses before they can do that otherwise the ability is worthless. Or maybe make it so you can grab them like an interupting a gen repair or pallet jump. Also, give them skill checks while victor is latched on. Do these things and maybe we’ve got something. Maybe.

  • I’d just like to add that if you unhook somebody, and the killer is busy chasing someone else, and there is a partially fixed generator near you then the generator takes priority over healing. ESPECIALLY if Ruin is active. It’s amazing how when I get saved and immediately run to the generator the idiot that unhooks me keeps signalling to me to let them heal me rather than take the hint to help me with the gen first. It’s my health, my time. You want to help me? FIX THE DANG GEN!!

This strategy is of the same dirty type of strategy that (insidious face) camping, tunneling without good reason (=I did that because I can) or 4man slugging in the early game belongs to imo. It makes no fun for Survivors at all. The same goes for kidnapping Viktor but on the Killer's side instead.

We all should be nice to each other even if we don't see us personally. We all know it is a really bad design. So I don't understand why some people still abuse it. Why don't be fair about it?

A lot of this is grey area/eye of the beholder level stuff. There are some people that are going to get upset with you no matter how “nice” you play. And a lot of this stuff can be avoid most of the time if you don’t act stupidly. 4 man slug early in the game? That’s what you get by congregating together and allowing him to do that. Stop trying to go for hook saves right off the bat, hide in case of BBQ. I see this crap all of the time, usually way across the map while I’m working on a gen.

  • Well, it didn’t last too long, three rounds. The last one I didn’t get anything done because a rank 1 pig tunneled me out of the gate and put a reverse bear trap on me. TWICE. And both times I had to go do every last puzzle box to unlock the damned things, lol. Oh well. :)

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

So you say it's fair to punish the killer for using his power well? I wouldn't say anything if you couldn't use pallets or windows with Viktor on your head, but you can.

It is like old times where you could sabo Trapper's traps and remove them from the game. There is a reason why they changed it. Because some Survivors (especially bully swf) abused the ######### out of it.

That you think ruining the Killer's ability to use his power for 45s due to circumstances he has no control over is fun, tells me everything I need to know about your playstyle. Ever thought that others want to have fun as well? At least I try to be fair when doing so...

What the heck does my playstyle have to do with anything? Of course they should change it, but don’t blame the players for using strategy. Put the blame entirely on the developers where it belongs. I’ve already posted elsewhere on a number of things they can do to make The Twins better.

Not now he can’t, sure it’ll bug on occasion but there is nothing stopping you (I’ve only gone against them once tho so if it does happen every time please let me know)

He definitely can. I played 5 rounds in a row in the last 2 hrs and in every single match people tried to duck in lockers and every single time I got them. Lockers are NOT a safe place to hide and I hope it stays that way. There’s too many downsides to this character so it’d be nice to keep this one thing at least.

  • The Twins have potential, but it’s difficult to say how much because of the glitches. Half the time when I unleash Victor he seems to get stuck in place. • I think it’s pretty funny. What should I do, try to pull him off when I know Charlotte is heading my way? Best thing to do is to run as far from your position as possible and maybe lose her first. It isn’t kidnapping, it’s common sense. Plus, the killer can use add-ons to bump up Victor’s power.

  • I disagree. Not having any harder of a time surviving.
