How about we just accept the rules as they are and play the game?
-
I just want Undying to only use up one charge per totem. I’d be perfectly content with that fix.
-
OMG I finally got my self care! It was only my 77th perk to unlock after having to upgrade 3 of them to green and 52 to purple!
Honestly can’t understand why people get so excited about the Shrine if this is what it takes to get the perks you want.
-
I suspect as much. I use small game on virtually every build and there have been times when I have circled an area for minutes and came to the conclusion that they have to be spawning inside walls or rocks.

Staring at you isn't face camping. Face camping, as defined in 2016 by veteran players, is actually blocking possible hook saves, since back then you couldn't unhook from the left or right of the hook, so the killer could just stand in front of them.
Please verse yourself on the lingo, and the origins of said lingo, before challenging someone who knows the game and it's history better than you.
😎
Jesus, you are one pompous, self important, arrogant person. Every time I read one of your posts it makes me groan. So what if that is what face camping meant 5 years ago? Newsflash: language changes with the times. Another news flash: the more you boast about your knowledge and abilities, the less we care about what you have to say or what your opinions are. Just get over yourself already. Nobody likes a braggart.
-
On paper it just seems like a lousy perk with too many downsides just to be able to withstand a second hit. I don’t think it’s worth it.
-
If the killer isn’t pressuring gens as he should then I take that as a sign that he is relying on NOED. If the round seems to be going lightning fast you should start getting worried.
-
I escape a lot through the gates in Haddonfield. Seems like with Midwich if I escape at all it’s more common to use the hatch. The gates at the school are just too easy to patrol for most killers.
-
I just had a Bill rush to me for a save on a hook while he was in the middle of a chase AND wounded, thereby keeping anybody else from doing it safely. Not that it ultimately made a difference because they were ALL idiots. Another person that was hiding near me waited until Bill was on another hook BEFORE running to unhook me, and by that time I was already in my second state. Neither of the other two tried to unhook Bill while the killer was again on my case. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem worth it.
-
Okay, it’s been over a week and at this point I am being stubborn out of curiosity to see exactly how long it takes for the bloodweb to give up Self Care. At the moment there are 86 total survivor perks. I only have access to 83 of them because I don’t own Quentin. I’ve now unlocked 75 of them, 50 purple, 2 green, and the rest yellow. I tried a new stategy and began only choosing yellow perks in the hope that it would lead to Self Care appearing sooner rather than later. Nope. Apparently the web caught on to my ingenious plan and decided to give me nothing but green perks for several webs. It’s crazy how difficult they make it.
-
I try to cleanse in case of NOED but I swear a lot of totems lately are glitching inside walls or places where you can’t get at them. The hay baler on Coldwind Farm is just one of the more obvious places because you can see it. But I have circled a spot wasting close to 5 minutes using small game for a totem that simply isn’t there. Like literally SG is going off when I point in one direction and the only thing that is there is a wall and beyond that the outer wall to the edge of the map and absolutely no place for it to hide. No second floor, no hag traps or anything of the like. nothing.
-
It’s an awfully odd assumption to make that toxic players play one character and ONLY one character. Or, that one specific character will automatically make otherwise decent players play toxically once that survivor is chosen.

You just dont see the bigger picture. Killers camp because it works.
By just doing gens and struggle as hard as you can, its not worth the killers time.
Now, if everyone would start playing that way, it would be some weeks, and killers would adept, because camping would not work anymore.
But since people
a)hooksuicide, freeing the killer to move to the next survivor, or
b) hookrush, giving the killer multiple downs, while no gen is done, or
c) just do whatever, but no gens
it becomes a good strategy for the killer.
It may be a good stategy to “win”, but if camping causes everybody to suicide, especially in cases where the killer is merely using them as bait, then ultimately that has to wind up being unsatisfying for the killer. But then, I’m going under the assumption that these people are of sound mind and many of them probably aren’t. Some people are easily amused I guess but personally I’d get bored and find a different game to play. If everybody used the same strategy to combat these kinds of killers (not talking about my strategy specifically, but ANY strategy) maybe something would work. I don’t know. I play solo so really my thoughts for the team is purely secondary. All I know is I’m not going to put up with it if I can’t get anything out of it.
-
If I get downed by Leatherface before I have a chance to do a single thing in the game and then he decides to use Insidious to bait others to me then you better believe I’m going to leave to match immediately. I’m not going to spend any length of time being a trash killer’s butt monkey for next to no bloodpoints. Eff that!
-
To me, Leatherface and Legion are just annoying killers the vast amount of time and therefore unfun. Slightly less unfun than him is Trapper because he’s boring except for his traps which are annoying. I don’t have a problem with any of the others, although going against Ghostface without using spine chill can be a real nightmare.
-
What would the killers do with them? Nothing, so what’s the point? So you could then transfer them to the survivors of your choice? Why should that be allowed when you can’t even transfer items from survivor to survivor?
-
When you’ve been running the killer around for a while and just when you’re about to receive your first hit the last gen is fixed, activating NOED. I swear, the timing is sometimes uncanny.

You don't always need mobility especially on the smaller maps like coal tower. On top of that, he is pretty much always in chase it's no use hiding from him
Lol. I hide from all the time, to the point where I’m usually the last to die if I die at all.
-
It’d have to be a dead mall. There’s plenty of those in the US.
-
I don’t play killer except for rift challenges, and on that one it took me three rounds to do 25 pallets. The first round I only got 4 playing legitimately. Not fast enough. I didn’t want to waste 6 whole games doing a challenge for 3 measly rift points. The second round I tried to get the survivors to farm but they were all total idiots. They wouldn’t stun me with pallets even when I just stood there and motioned to have them hit me! It was like, my god this is going to take forever! After like ten minutes of them not doing anything I got pissed off and killed them all. The third round I finally got somebody smart enough to take the hint and I got it done.

When the killer finds me within the first 30 seconds of the match starting. I swear, it happens all of the time. I sometimes hide or wait until someone else gets hit first, but I feel lame doing that so I usually bolt out into the middle of the map and start working on the middle generator.
When survivors repair the outer generators before the inner ones.
When survivors are overly altruistic.
When survivors suicide because they were the first ones downed, or were tunneled into their second hook phase.
When a survivor will be on a generator 24m away while I'm hooked, and will finish the generator before coming to save me.
No one the last one. If the person on the gen is that close and he saves you it will only get the killer to come back sooner and the gen won’t be fixed.
-
Lol. Everybody says don’t get injured. I don’t get injured by the Oni. 9/10 times when he hits me I go down.
-
He is talking about “try hards”, I think.
I think people that spend so much time playing only one game to the point where they become virtual Gods in it to be a little sad, if I’m honest. You’re missing out on life if DBD is your entire world.

Just because they try to unhook themselves? That is messed up... lol
It’s petty is what it is.
-
If I’m on the hook and I have deliverance activated I am of the opinion “use it or lose it”. I also think it is perfectly fair to do if the person is attempting an unsafe hook on you. I hate it intensely when people drop what they’re doing and rush to save me on my first hook. As far as people trying to pull themselves off as I’m coming to their rescue I don’t take offense to it because I know there is a trophy to earn for that.

Midwich is frustrating and one of the most killer sided maps in the game. The one plus is that the layout never changes much at all so you can eventually learn where they are all likely to be. But that’s a huge downside too because the exit gates are always in the exact same place with a long empty path between the two that makes it super easy for killers to patrol both, coupled with the fact that the hatch often spawns in the courtyard. It isn’t often easy to escape even when you manage to find 5 gens and repair them all.
-
No.
-
I’m going to see if I can collect 100 keys I find in matches but didn’t have to use.
-
Contesting the hatch with the killer as it is about to open and they panic and make the mistake of hitting me when what they really should have done is stay on the hatch and close it.

Midwich makes me ugh, cry, rage and pout.
The biggest gripe I have about Midwich is that the exit gates never change location and there is a long open stretch between the two for the killer to easily patrol.
-
Making it around a corner but getting hit anyways.
-
Most doctors don’t check every closet, and if they’re checking closets near you then they already know somebody is nearby. They’re probably using Whispers and not a power specifically Doctor related.
The Doctor has better more reliable counters than some of the other killers. I probably escape from him about as often as he kills me.
-
Just had to screw up? Coincidence. Wouldn’t it be a kicker if that was hacked, too?

I wish the corn like....got pressed down when survivors or killer walked over it, and it stayed pressed down a fair bit for the rest of the game.
That would be awesome.
Just by playing the game you would make a corn maze.
But it’s just one large dead zone. The thing good about it is that obscures the killer’s view, and it isn’t even very good at that.

I just read the rules and says communications are not bannable and in game reports will not be taken into consideration for that.
Lol. Yeah, I know. As I said, they allow it because they can’t do anything about it. I’m getting a little tired of having to repeat myself to you. The devs have never kept it a secret that they would prefer that people not use mics.

Is there a rule here somewhere that say it is? devs pretty much get to decide what cheating is...if they say so then so be it but until then it's not...
There’s no in game microphone. Pretty much says it all. The only reason they allow it is because they can’t do a thing about it.

Playing swf isn't cheating, if it was...adding players to your friend list to play with them would be removed and random queues would be the norm obviously devs don't agree with you on what is cheating or not.
As I said, I’m talking about the use of mics. The standard way people use swf is definitely cheating.

Solo queue survivor pushed me to never want to play as solo queue survivor and started playing killer more to be honest, at least I play without having to worry about losing a match because I keep getting trolls/AFK/Disconnects/Rage quitters and bad teammates to ruin 7 out of 10 matches but maybe you can count it as a good thing I guess since the killer population seems to be extremely low...
Also if you have never played SWF you don't know how smooth the game feels when you get to play with friends who will never troll or disconnect compared to solo queue where that's really common, once you play most of your matches with people who actually play the game the feeling solo queue gives you of people constatly disconnecting is pretty bad and frustrating...
Yeah, I imagine that games always feel smoother when you cheat. And yes, I consider SWF cheating. If you absolutely have to, SWF without mics, but nobody ever does that.
The game is designed around the idea of random strangers getting thrown together and forced to work together despite personality differences. Some will work together, others won’t, just like in the movies. In Night of the Living Dead for example, Romero could have had everybody work together and not included the character of Mr. Cooper. But the film would have been a lot less interesting.
-
Solo queue is the only way that I’ve ever played. If I thought it was a nightmare I would never have gotten into this game.

Yeah that happened to me too. Cleansed 4 totems and then found that one. Of course the killer got NOED on it 🙄
It’s happened to me a couple of times. Once I noticed it (happened to be the first totem I came across) I stopped cleansing any of the others to make sure increase the odds that one WOULDN’T spawn the NOED.

You say that like 6 seconds can't be game changing in a match.
Really. I couldn’t even tell you how many times that I’ve been half a second away from gen completion only to have the killer come and muck it all up. It happens a lot.

You won't be able to do the majority of the gens in your games though (especially with another survivor).
And you are giving up a perk slot that could be Unbreakable,Decisive Strike,Adrenaline etc.
I’ll take Prove Thyself over DS any day. At least it is usable more than once. The perks you mention are really only useful for an offensive playstyle and a lot of us don’t play with direct confrontation in mind.

@bkn said:
No its not meta. But its a good perk. The problem is it doesnt stack, so if several people run it and are working on the same gen you dont get extra benefit. But if you are more of a passive player that focuses on generators other than engaging the killer its a very good perk. You not only get the gen done faster, but also the points and pips (emblem).
It may not stack with another Prove Thyself, but it would make a potent combo with resilience.
-
I hate that, especially when I’m up on the hook and seeing ALL of them playing like that. All can you do is helplessly sigh and say to yourself, “These are my people”.

Just played against Spirit twice tonight. I was stealthy, calm, and still after she hooked someone. Both times I was found easily. I’ve only beat her a couple times against a newer player. I seriously don’t think Spirit or Pig are beatable.
In the long run, none of the killers are beatable. You have nothing to kill them with. In 1 to 1 they will always win whether it takes them 10 seconds or 10 minutes. That’s why teammates are so important. Without their need to divert attention to others you’re toast.

@CountVampyr I love how the chapter come with Elo double items perk, while Twin spaw 2 more chests perk doesnt decrease the rarity.
Plunderer, Ace in hole. I dont think its hard to get a key from 6 RNG items from chests
Ace in the Hole only increases the odds of better add-ons. From the description it doesn’t appear to affect the quality of the items themselves.
-
I love my new Elodie build. She’s building up quite a cache of unused purple and red keys. I just used one to escape a round where all of my teammates were brainless hook “savers”.

Ds is annoying, but can only be used once same with unbreakable so you just force them to be used and they are useless after that
A lot of people here swear that everybody in red ranks uses DS, but that is a huge exaggeration. When I check scores at the end there is usually only one person using it, if that. Two people using it is uncommon and 3 is a complete rarity. There is never 4 in any match I play because I never use it.
