Running both Appraisal and Plunderers, there have been times when I found nothing but flashlights. Keys are common, but definitely not assured.
-
@CaulDrohn said:
Did they have Plunderers and / or Appraisal? That would increase their chances greatly. I got two red keys in one match today using both plunderers and appraisal. If all 4 were running appraisal, they can pull out 15 items out of the regular 3 chests (3 by default + 12 additional by appraisal). With coin offerings even more. Quite good chance to get hold of mutliple keys. Maybe they even coordinated all that via comms.
Pretty sure that isn’t how it works. If more than one person is using Appraisal each chest can still only be plundered twice, at least it seems to be that way in my experience. I run it a lot with my Eloise build and I’ve come across chests ransacked by others that I couldn’t search for more items.
-
Hugging corners only works as a good counter half the time. I’ve seen more Leatherfaces than not easily whipping their chainsaw around multiple sharp turns with zero collision problems. Also hitting over windows with the saw doesn’t seem to be much of a problem for then either. Just saying that there really are no good counters to him unlike Billy whose saw is insanely easy to avoid.
-
My survival rate is way down. Killers are trying way harder than usual because of the rift, and alternatively survivor challenges usually work against winning. There’s nothing like being in a round trying to complete a hook save or chest opening challenge when everybody else is climbing over you doing the same one. It’s dog eat dog!

No. Doctor has 3 effects that activate on madness that are not dependent on the scream.
- Restraint, shows your aura when your madness increases, actually makes you more visible with calm spirit. Also makes madness 2 illusion auras visible to the doctor
- Order, hard to use but fake pallets disappearing is sometimes noticeable
- Discipline, the fake red stain, very visible but only stops you from camoing
This was on the game map and both times he got me I was behind walls where he wouldn’t be able to see red stains or hallucinations. He was clearly seeing my aura or bubble notifications which I thought he wouldn’t get if you didn’t scream.

@Crowman said:
Doctor has an addon that when a survivor's madness tier increases they get to see your aura for a few seconds.
Doctor's Static Blast always puts survivors into the next tier of madness.
Ah. An add-on. That would explain it. Thanks.
Generally I could work with it, but not when I’m working on the rift challenge where I need to hide within 10 meters for 45 seconds. lol.
-
Too many breakable doors now too. I basically got trapped in one corner of the lower level because there seemed to be only one way out.
-
The requirement is stupid ass long. I’ve only used it during one round for a rift challenge and it was ridiculous how long it took, and if I remember right I had to use it at least twice in one round to complete it. Now every time the perk appears in my bloodweb I actually say out loud, “You can take that pebble and shove it right up your ass!” Lol
-
I don’t know if I have said this before here, but I’m not hanging around on a basement hook as bait for insidious Bubba. I’m also not hanging around against a rank 1 Huntress using iri hatchets. I honestly don’t care if people think this is selfish or not.
-
From experience playing Friday the 13th, rain is a nightmare. It causes major frame rate drops. No thank you. Hard pass.

Tbh I thought they would have fixed it by now...
Played a game where I two hooked everyone, no tunneling no slugging at all.
Then Two of them get sacrificed on third hook and I have a 3 gen left.
I guess they looked for hatch because one of them DCd and the other one INSTANTLY hopped into hatch.
Nice mechanic :D
This happened during a match I was in last night, and I was the one that escaped through the hatch. Me and another guy were both downed near the hatch and the killer had to choose which one to pick up first. He chose the other guy and the moment I crawled onto the hatch he disconnected. I’m sure the killer thought we were working together but I don’t know who he was. The guy just did it to flip him off. Which honestly I don’t entirely blame because it was a rank one killer that chose perks like ruin/undying that frankly are a bit overkill for someone of that skill level. In my opinion of course, so take it with a grain of salt.

So do you get cosmetics for everyone or no one?
I get whatever cosmetics are available through the rifts. I’m certainly not going to waste any real money on those.
I’m not saying that I don’t play some characters more than others. There’s some that I only have two pages worth of perks and three that I have most or all of them. But that doesn’t mean that I “main” them. Right now I’m working on and putting all of my bloodpoints I earn on prestiging to III and maxing out all of the perks for Ash, but I haven’t even played him more than a handful of times in the last year. I don’t have a particular attachment for any one character beyond what their perks can do for me, or if they have an offering I can exploit.
-
I don’t have a main. I usually choose whichever character I need to pass a rift or daily challenge and stick with them when I’m done.

If I’m playing Killer guaranteed the toxic survivors are pc players.
I’m sure there are plenty there, too. I’m just saying that I can’t receive messages from anyone other than those on PS4, so really they come from everywhere. I don’t see a platform stereotype.

Every toxic player I’ve come across has been PC player. Idk why.
In crossplay I only ever get messaged by toxic players from PS4, which is my platform. Currently having a row with some guy who got bent out of shape because I didn’t try to save somebody (not him) that rescued me from a hook during EGC. The killer was camping so it seemed kind of pointless, especially since I was wounded. The really stupid thing? The toxic guy was afk for the first 5 minutes and admitted to killing himself, so really he is the last person to be questioning how anybody plays!

If we're using that reasoning then as a killer I am entitled to a 4k because they put moris in the game. So there ya go.
Correct. You’re entitled to those moris if you meet the conditions. I am entitled to the hatch if I meet the conditions. There you go. More keys go wasted than get used in my experience.

and nobody said you had the right to a free escape and yet here we are.
They put keys in the game, so obviously I do, so there!
There’s nothing free about it, so that is just more whining on the killers part. Keys have counters. “Git gud”.
-
The constant complaint that keys aren’t “fair”. Life isn’t fair. Keys are part of the game. That’s just the way it is. Nobody says you have the right to 4K.
-
I always hear windows being mentioned as a good counter, but if the killer is close I almost never am able to vault a window without taking a hit. This includes Leatherface. The only thing that’s really good about them is that he can’t shred through them like pallets. I have better luck running circles around objects.

@sonia_delos said:
I don’t really care what people think but when you play Bubba, use the chainsaw as a crutch, face camp, NEED NOED and still can’t get the job done, you’re just about the worst killer there is.
Change my mind.
I think I ran into that Bubba once. He tunneled one survivor through 3 gen repairs, even ignoring them when people were obviously close by repairing them, and then face camped for the remaining two. Then when he couldn’t even manage to face camp successfully he winds up disconnecting and then messaging us with profanity and accusing us of gen rushing. When Bubbas are bad, they’re just plain awful!

If you had taken it the first time it probably wouldn't have shown up the second time, because haha, getting the same perk twice in a row? What sort of fantasy world would that be?
If you had taken it the first time and it showed up again and you'd taken it the second time as well it probably wouldn't have shown up the third time because see above. But if it did? And if you took it the third time? It'd never show up again.
I always make sure to plan out my Bloodweb buys so that I can always get at least one perk when there are two on offer, prioritizing ones I actually want like Whispers or BBQ and so on, but if my choices are between two perks I don't really care about I'll take which ever is already the higher tier and if they are both the same tier them whatever add-ons I like best along the way.
When there are three or more perks on offer I make my plan and put them in and order from first to third slash fourth. Get the first one first of course, then if the second choice isn't consumed I go for it and if it was work on getting the third. Learning how The Entity eats up choices is key to getting what you want most out of each Bloodweb. Sometimes I can ever get everything I want but that's rare. Also important to realize when Perk hunting is if you buy tier three of something that's one less Perk to randomly show up so I've often bought Perks that I'll never use just to get them out of the way to give other Perks the chance to spawn.
I’ve gone a different way and gobble up every yellow perk that appears and only level up to green if its one I want or the only option to take. After a certain point you get purple perk every bloodweb and you only get those if you have leveled the perk up to green first. My theory is by taking a purple you don’t want you’re more than likely just making more room for another purple that you also don’t want, and you’re wasting points that could be used towards getting to the next web. The faster you grab the yellows, the sooner the perks you want will appear.

Wake up / Remember me - Exit gates are almost insignificant.
Babysitter - If the killer is close enough to go for the unhooked guy they will. If they arent it won't serve any purpose other than a weaker Dark Sense.
Zanshin Tactics - Woo you can see Windows and pallets as a killer sometimes. 30 second cooldown at purple rank.
Territorial Imperative - Shows you survivors at the basement on a cooldown for a very short duration with no noise activation and only if you are really far from the basement anyway.
Predator - Yellow & Green rank of this perk dont change anything, and the purple variant is so weak it might as well be rolled into another perk. (Bloodhound maybe?)
Monstrous Shrine - lol.
Hangman's Trick - see a survivor 6 metres from a hook while carrying a survivor and dealing with their wiggling? amazingingly useless.
Beast of Prey - grats on getting looped, gain undetectable (but not invisible) until you kick the pallet.
Up The Ante - Pure crap luck % that affects only unhooking yourself on your first hook. Buff it and then remove its ability to stack (or delete the luck mechanic and this perk)
Sole Survivor - Gets progressively better as your allies die at hiding your aura, but only triggers after they die by which point BBQ has already picked you up.
Red Herring - Long cooldown on a crap perk that can screw your teammates.
Premonition - The killer is somewhere on the map. Now have a 60/45/30 second cooldown.
Power Struggle - Has anyone made this work, ever?
Off the Record - Iron Will for a limited time only after you've been hooked anybody?
Object of Obsession - Cancer.
No One Left Behind - Once someone has accidentally opened a 99%ed exit gate, heal the guy next to you for 300 extra bp.
Lucky Break - Iron will 2.0 but with a timer for some reason.
Lightweight - Your scratchmarks are only visible for 7/8/9 seconds instead of 10.
Left Behind - See the hatch after letting all your teammates die while you were hiding in a locker with a key.
Flip-Flop - If the killer slugged you for ages, you might wiggle out. If the killer didnt slug you, this perk does nothing. If your teammate picks you up this perk does nothing.
Desperate Measures - For every injured person, heal other survivors 1.6 seconds faster (then lose this speed bonus because they're healed)
Camaraderie - You're getting camped, you still die.
Buckle Up - Your teammate is getting slugged, we'll show you the killers aura for 6 seconds after you get them up so you can know your teammate is about to get slugged again.
Breakdown - break the hook so you cant be farmed, but dont worry there are hooks everywhere so you will get hooked again.
Boil Over - make it harder for the killer by making them use their eyes to see a hook.
Any Means Necessary - Pickup dropped pallets every minute, don't worry though your teammates wasted all the good pallets that the killer promptly destroyed.
Aftercare - Ever wanted your survivor teammates to run the killer to you? This is the perk for you!
I’ve found some use out of a lot of those. Granted, there are far better perks to choose from, but none of them other than Object of Obsession actively work against you. Like if I had a choice between running no perks and running No Mither or Object of Obsession, I’d opt for nothing. Same goes to Mettle of Man to a slightly lesser extent.
-
You’re better off using Unbreakable. Be honest, you’re never going to be able to come out of the dying state more than one time ever unless the killer is farming or is very very deadset upon slugging everybody and not hooking them.

BBQ I would think but if they don't have that perk it might just be practice and the fact many survivors play in a similar style (i.e. go to the same places to heal, or hide, etc) but I have certainly wondered the same thing as Survivor too.
Absolutely no aura perks or anything that would allow him to sense my presence. Never made visual contact, or really moved much at all once they began coming close. The person on the hook was using the perk where I could see the killer’s aura and he literally walked straight to me as if he could see me right through that wall. Experience is one thing but it was uncanny. I’ve played long enough to know that there was absolutely no reason to check my particular spot out before any others.
-
Sometimes I wonder. I’m hiding someplace and the killer come straight towards me immediately after hooking somebody, not even looking at more obvious hiding spots. I assume he’s running whispers or some other aura sensing perk or add on and to my surprise he is running absolutely nothing of the sort. Makes me suspicious but nothing really to prove it.

I like to do the sideways walk when I see a Survivor with Spine Chill. It really messes them up sometimes!
And you recognize a person using spine chill on sight, “how” exactly? Curiosity minds want to know.
Spine Chill is basically the difference between life and death when it comes to Myers or Ghostface on any indoor map or place where your long distance vision is obstructed due to close walls.
-
I never choose DS because when I had in the past I rarely got any use out of it, and when I did it never stopped the killer from tunneling me. To me its just a wasted perk slot that I could allocate to something that is less conditional.
-
I’m on console and invariably when I try to keep tabs on the killer behind me I run into something. Just now for instance I was running away from Wraith through a corn field, looked behind me for one full second and ran smack dab into a gen, the only obstacle for like 50 paces in all directions! Egads.
-
Honestly people need to stop playing the victim. Survivors aren’t any more the problem than the killers are. Neither side owes the other one anything. Don’t like keys? Hate moris and insta-downs? Suck it up, buttercup. They’re legal. They’re going to be used.

Easy solution to his map not getting confused with Coldwind Farm? Use Texas Battle Land from TCM Part 2. Bam. Done. Much more interesting of a location anyways.
-
Rule #1: Always worry about yourself first if you really care about escape. You broke that rule by going to find somebody else and that came with a risk to your primary objective. If you don’t care so much about escape then fine, although the fact that you created this thread suggests that you did.

If you say you farm people for blood you can't expect people to think that you're trying to go out of your way to help the person on the hook.
Either way the person gets saved. If I’m that person on the hook ultimately I don’t care what their motivation is, although a deliberate immediate unhooking while the killer hasn’t even walked away yet is going to piss me off even if I get the benefit of borrowed time. I likely won’t be returning that “favor”.

If campers can still call Tommy Jarvis then you are basically forced to sit around because he is controlled by another player who died. Back when I played you also didn't get any "points" if you left early. Don't know if they changed this. It's been a while.
It was hell. Especially if you died first and the match went on for 30 minutes. And then you had to wait another 5-10 minutes for another match.
Every game times out at 20 minutes. Going 30 is impossible unless the game glitches at which point it it will NEVER end and you have to disconnect.

The Trapper is Jason.
Jason almost never used traps except maybe in the reboot. Trapper may be the closest thing to Jason that DBD has, but that doesn’t mean they’re the same at all.

It’s funny how multiplayer servers have made so many people entitled nowadays. I’ve played video games solo for the most part for literally 40 years now and ENJOYED THEM! GET OFF MY LAWN!!

Small game is not worth it once you get to the level that noed is hardly used. The perk has such a high pickrate low/mid rank because it is strong there undoubtedly. People complain about it because it's unfun. Those games where you can't find the hex in time and watch the killer stand in front of the hook. You can't trade 1 for 1 it's either feed or leave. Surely new players want more interaction than that if they're to stay playing dbd.
Not worth it? It’s good to warn against Trapper and Hag traps, too.
-
I just played a game in the last hour where I cleansed at least 3 or 4 bones (wasn’t keeping score, maybe all 5) and managed to escape as the sole survivor through the hatch even though all of the gens were done. Afterwards I discovered that the killer was running NOED, and I got hit once after the gates were powered. So speaking as a guy that ONLY survived because I did bones, I can verify that it isn’t a worthless exercise. Not by a long shot!
What’s amazing though is that I wasn’t even running small game like I usually do and just kept stumbling upon them mostly by accident!
-
I had a cloaked wraith yesterday wait for me at the hatch just to slam it on me when I arrived. The joke was on him though because I snatched a key from some guy he hooked earlier and reopened it the same second he closed it. Honestly if he just played straight he would have killed me because I was wounded without a way to heal, but he tried to be cute. It’s the same mistake that often happens with survivors and blood warden.
(But honestly I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get any messages complaining about the key.)
-
I feel like an idiot doing those “fall from a great height twice” ones, particularly on maps when there is literally only one spot to jump from. It basically entails getting the killer’s attention and leading him to that spot. And if he downs me, doing the same exact thing a second time. I’ve often wondered what was going through the killer’s head when I pull that stupid maneuver that didn’t even work the first time from his point of view.
-
I won’t lobby dodge as survivor considering how long it takes to get into one, but I’ll seriously consider it if two or more others have virtually the same user names.
-
Today I had a wraith try to mori everybody and he almost succeeded too, but his potential third fouled that up for him by willingly allowing himself to die on second hook rather than let me save him. The Wraith then tried to get all cute with me by finding the hatch first and then remain invisible until I showed up so he could slam it on me. But the joke was on him because I had a key, and literally the second he shut it I reopened it. He was being cute, but I was cuter. It was entirely his fault though because I was wounded and if he was uncloaked he could have just hit me and that would have been the end of it.
-
Any map with a lot of brush is bad for locating the hatch before it opens, but the worst I’ve had was on The Game because the lower floor is extremely dark. I literally had go by ears to find it once because I could barely make it out even when I was standing right on top of it!
-
If that’s true then one of you should have at least been able to hear it. Leads me to believe that the hatch glitched so that it either never spawned or didn’t recognize that there was only one person left and therefore didn’t open.
-
I just faced the most annoying thing ever: skill checks without the wheel appearing on screen! Argh!!!
-
My main problem with insta-down is that it should be a benefit that the killer has to work towards. In that context Myers is perfectly fine. But when you get insta-downed within the first minute I can’t help but feel cheated (even if it is ultimately my fault).
