Yeah, kinda.
Just not proximity based chat or anything like that.
I wonder how many times I've been the only solo in a 3 person SWF and unable to communicate with them or even know they're communicating with each other. How embarrassing 😳

Here is how for Switch, get an audio splitter, connect one end to your switch, the other to your phone or x device with discord
Will an audio splitter work in docked mode? We play on the TV, not in handheld mode.

No, not really.
They've had their own voice systems since like 2005 lol
Oh wow. So then it must be like playing Friday the 13th: The Game with the ability for survivors to talk to each other.

Yeah Xbox and the PlayStations have built in chat party stuff. I do not think the PlayStations have discord as it's owned by Microsoft, but I could be wrong on that. Dunno what tf Nintendo does.
Wait, so you don't even need discord on PS and XBOX?!

We're both on Nintendo Switch

Keep the Freddy posts coming! He definitely deserves more attention.
Playing Freddy right now feels like playing a killer that looks like Freddy. Not like playing Freddy himself.
I actually don't have a problem feeling the role of Freddy as you play him in first person and I do like his dark, evil laugh when the survivors fall asleep 😴

Ive not seen a killer use fear monger in my last 50 games youre probably good
Which is the best exhaustion perk?
-
@Rulebreaker said:
Gen repair: Bit standard but it works. Only thing we could recommend is overzealous instead of prove.
Altruism: Could probably switch out either botany (our pick) or We'll make it with something else (we say keep desperate because it also works with unhooking speed). Is it for healing others or rescues or both? Healing others keep botany, rescues keep we'll make it.
Self: If its just for you can replace desperate measures with something. If you really want to go in on the self heals go pharmacy (not recommended but it fits) but we vote bite the bullet or distortion (silently healing and a counter to nurse's calling respectively).
I forgot about overzealous! I will try that!

@bjorksnas said:
No point in using all 3 of the healing perks in the altruism build 300% heal speed vs 200% heal speed or 250% heal speed ends up not really meaning that much anymore, just go with 2/3 of the perks and you have more room for exhaustion perks and strong situational perks
You know what's crazy. I've never used an exhaustion perk except for challenges because so many killers use Mindbreaker (Fearmonger) and I'm afraid it won't work.
-
@Xendritch said:
May I suggest either Bond or Troubleshooter on the gen build? Assuming you're soloQ you're gonna wanna know where to go to get Prove Thyself value.
We'll Make it and Desperate Measures is redundant on the altruism build. Made for This, Empathy, Lucky Break would be good alternatives to desperate measures or baby even babysitter if you're facing a lot of back to hook killers.
My old generator build was
- Bond
- Open-Handed
- Prove Thyself
-
@TheSyndromeOfClowns said:
I don't suggest to focus on healing build only. Imagine if you face Plague, Legion or someone that has a full slug build or anti-healing build? You do you though.
I'm trying to make different builds for different characters. I want an Altruistic build, a Self-Care build and a Generator build.

It's terrible.
He is not getting new movie or tv show.
He is worst adapted killer in DbD with very boring power. No costumes, no voice-line, no personality...
It's really not best days for Freddy fans. Jason is also similar since he is not even in DbD and no new content for him as well.
I'm a huge Freddy fan as well as a Freddy main.
With regards to film and television, it's better to let the NoES series rest in peace.
Robert Englund is the only person who can do Freddy and he has stated numerous times that he is too old now.
I would love Robert Englund Freddy skins (Original and Wes Craven's New Nightmare) and I have no doubt Englund would do the voice acting.
Warner Bros. Never allows the Freddy we all love in video games. Hell, even years ago when they put him in Mortal Kombat, it was the remake Freddy that we have in DBD.

There is not. BHVR saves your data on their own backend database servers. Nothing is saved on your end.

Its true.
This! Exactly! I'll be playing killer in a few hours. Friday and Saturday nights are always rough as killer. My guess is that it's the easiest nights for SWFs to get together online.

I had a Dredge game today where I almost had a 4k at 5 gens (turned into 3k at 4 gens but good enough). Generally when that happens survivors have to misplay and take hits when they don't have to and just generally don't loop well.
Did any missed skill checks alert you to survivors positions?
-
@CorvusCorax86 said:
Any more details? I had one yesterday where I was the Legion and the team making the worst possible decisions. I was surprised how early we finished without anybody DC-ing.
One missed skill check by Mr. Soma got two of us found and him thrown in the basement. I saved him but then I was in the basement and went through all hook stages without anyone attempting to rescue me lol
-
@Xelleak said:
I am asking this for two reasons:
- I wish to get better at Great Skill Checks (looking at perks such as Plunderer)
- I have a friend who wants to get into DBD, but they are awful at Skill Checks - apparently they cannot hear the warning cue before a Skill Check appears.
Appreciate it if anyone could get back to me.
Practice using Technician. I never aim for great skill checks, the odds are not in your favor. If I get one, great! But aiming for them is counterproductive, especially if you're having a hard time with regular skill checks.

We don't feel bad when talking breaks but we will grind through a day if there's something we actually want (last thing was Carmina's blue dress). If we missed out, maybe sad far a day and move on. It's all a game to us.
An aside, if you've really been up for a day please take a breather. We genuinely don't want to see ya burn out for this reason.
I'm taking today and the weekend off. I've been becoming irritable and decided to take a break.

@Volcz said:
Nah, there's really nothing to chase. Bloodpoints and prestige grind don't really matter to me. No real reward system or ranked play so whenever I do take a break, I know I'm not missing out on anything important.

There is no such thing as gen-tunnelling. Not sure who invented this but even gen-rushing was far-fetched.
People overall "rush" matches instead of having a nice long one and ultimately: fun.
Exhaustion perks are absolutely fair and they are easily countered with Fearmonger.

For me on Killer side its Boon: Shadowstep. Been so long since I saw it I legit thought I was against hackers even though I knew there was a boon in play. Next 3 games as Killer there was always a Shadowstep, made some chases a little annoying but was a nice change of pace
That's also being used frequently by survivors.

Zombies will chase you regardless to if your infected or not. Other then allowing Nemesis to do damage with his tentacle, infection does NOTHING
Well it does make you cough, so I guess it makes you slightly easier to find?
-
@jomilio_og said:
Hi behaviour or anyone reading this, I would like to talk about the infection that nemesis gives, I think we can all see that being infected is no big deal, it just ensures that a hit from the tentacle will do damage, I would like if they added something like if you have the infection the survis will slow things down like healing or really anything that makes being infected something to worry about, best regards to anyone reading this and hopefully this will become a reality.
Doesn't it make the zombies more attracted to you? Like, they're more likely to chase or notice you?
-
@Xernoton said:
Yes, you both get the extra repair speed. But your progress is still slightly slower than it would be, if you worked on different gens.
There is an efficiency penalty when multiple survivors work on the same gen. In the case of 2 survivors working on one gen it's a 15% penalty and you only get a 10% repair speed boost. So you are still a little less efficient than if you were to work on different gens. When someone else comes near however, PTY counts that as 3 survivors in range and will give you a 16% repair speed bonus. So you repair the gen at: (0.85 c/s + 16% x 1c/s) x 2c/s = 2.02 c/s.
Note: I am not 100% certain, if the repair bonus is a multiplier but it seems it's added, since a multiplier would only leave you at: 2 c/s x 85% x 1.16 = 1.972 c/s, which is still slightly below 2.0 c/s, meaning you'd still be at slower repair speed.
But even without the perk at all, two people on one generator will make that generator faster than if just one person was on it, correct? I had a whole thread dedicated to that question alone and it seems like people agree while there's a penalty, it progresses the single generator faster

Distortion plus calm spirit kills all killer tracking outside of scratch marks
I run at least Distortion and have zero issues
That being said, you're right. They're gonna get their money out of the new killer before they swing around to nerfs
Of course. I feel for killers who will grow to depend on it.

I must've gotten unlucky then, 'cause my obsessions have always been across the map when it proc'd.
Nevertheless, 20 seconds still isn't very long anyway. The killer has to get to you, and then still needs to get an M1 hit off. Maybe play it a bit safer when you realise you're the obsession? Or do the BBQ thing and hide in a locker.
I hide in a locker and also use Distortion. I can avoid it usually but a SoloQ group cannot.
If you're new to this game, you don't even know what terms like 'Exposed' mean, much less that hiding in a locker blocks your aura.
I play in SoloQ, so I have two choices: wait for Hatch or max out my Altruism points.
-
The Wraiths that I go against love this perk more than Chucky.

That's curious. I've struggled to get value from it myself. I imagine it might be pretty damn strong on Blight, though.
10 seconds of aura of an exposed survivor (12 if using LP) is enough for all the killers I'm facing.
A perk that literally shows your aura and makes you a one hit while someone is already on the hook?
Come on, do you see this being around in 6 months?
If I had told you this would be a perk 6 months ago, would you have believed me?
-

According to NightLight, which has been a quite accurate source when it comes to perk pickrates, MFT isn't even in Top 10 anymore. How have your games been with MFT mostly gone? Have you been "winning" more as Killer or "losing" more as Survivor? Or was it all a placebo effect?🧠
My SoloQ teammates still run it idk 🤷♂️ why

Look at this crap!
Just to clarify some things guys:
- Felix were running in a straight line while hugging the right side of this rode.
- THERE WERE ONLY FELIX! (It's a scratchmarks from only 1 survivor!)
What in the holy mother of "S" is going on with these scratchmarks? And why are they SO spread out?
They are literally 3 meters left and right from survivor's point of moving. Now imagine how my match went, when they just kept holding shift+W, and turning left and right all the time?
I'm sorry, but I have to say: My bottom part of the body were BURNING, while I was trying to follow these scratchmarks.
It's not exclusive for RPD, IT'S ON EVERY SINGLE MAP!
Look how scratchmarks going ALL the way to the left, when the survivor hugging the wall on the right! What the hell is this?!
MY WHOLE match just went: - Me checking and double-checking left and right before making a desicion of where this survivor went from 1 room to the next.
Guys, your game now have SO MANY LOS (line of sight) breaking stuff, so the killer 70% of the chase just following the scratchmarks. But how can you follow THOSE, without losing any distance?!
I don't know if someone created a post about it somewhere. But these scratches are just insane and ridiculous.
Whoever the person who is responsible for scratchmarks in your team, PLS get a grip and consider a fix. There is no way in hell, that THESE ARE NORMAL!
Was he using Lightweight?
