I play on PS5 and I use the basic PS5 controller. Recently I have noticed that even though I am holding " L1" to run, that my character does not run unless I literally hold my joystick up as far as it can go. When I go to turn my character will sort of fast walk instead of running before it resumes running. At first I thought that I was my controller so I bought a brand new one, not used or refurbished or anything and I am still having the same issue. I feel like the dead zone in this game should be a lot less or that we should be able to adjust our own deadzones because I should not have to shove my joystick for my character to run. I can play any other game and barely move my stick and my character is going at full speed.
Yes, I am having it on Switch using the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. I experienced the exact same thing last night as both Killer and Survivor.
It's incredibly annoying, you're not alone. I gave up playing as The Doctor as soon as I hit my daily ritual requirements. I couldn't chase, he would just slow down like he was in mud or something.
I tried a different Controller as well and it happened again as Survivor. I haven't had any problems this morning thankfully.

Just had a match with a Jake who I couldn't start chase with. Not in the sense that he was too far away just like while chasing him the chase music wouldn't start or any sorta chase related stuff like bloodlust or M&A fov. It was like I was just walking normally with a survivor in front of me. Even when I hit him chase still didn't start. Nothing else was inherintly suspicious about the match at least on my end like no obvious omega flashlight or speed hacks (though small ones maybe I don't really know speeds well enough to gauge) then again DBD is known to be a bugged mess quite often so has anyone seen anything simalar before?
Who were you playing as? I had this happen to me yesterday as a Survivor against The Plague.

I don't think the perk is necessarily broken or over-tuned as it is. However whenever I play with randoms and they choose to hide all game I can always count on their perks being Calm Spirit+Distortion. Since being in the terror radius is the only requirement, they can have tokens all game without progressing the objectives or helping teammates. I think If instead tokens were earned by working on generators (similar to flash bang) or if they required safe rescues (similar to we're gonna live forever) the perk would let sneaky survivors be both sneaky and helpful. I don't want the perk to be nerfed, but I want it to better encourage team play.
Yes! This! 1000% This! Tokens should not be earned by creeping around the killer, they should be a reward for completing objectives.

What do you mean? I always run Kindred and that's one of the reasons I use it is to see where the killer is headed after hooking. Yes, if the killer is quick, goes undetectable the bubble does interfere with being able to see that's why I said this needs to be removed.
That would be nice but the devs have said that the bubble is intentional.
I don't know the reason, but my guess is so that the killer can stand still for 2 seconds to activate Insidious if they have it.
Of course, the bubble has been there since before the anti face camp mechanic was introduced.

hmmmmm
When did you START playing DBD?
Summer of 2020 but only spent 200 hours on it at first.
I really got into it during 6th anniversary event, then stopped and started spending the vast majority of my game time playing it last year when Friday the 13th: The Game was down.

Ok...
I HAVE to ask. For how long have you been playing dbd?
Bubba is one of the best chasers in the game and offers one of the best chase experiences in dbd. It's high risk, high reward. Do you drop the pallet, do you greed? Do you know that you can take another round based on his charges? Can you play around windows well?
Bubba is one of the biggest beginner stompers that is out there. It's not uncommon to lose at 5 gens against Bubba if your new. I was at that point.
Most bubba take their own perks? Maybe if they are bad, yes. Bubba perks are bad. The only good one is bbq.
Most good Bubbas use something like this:
Corrupt, Deadlock, Pain resonance, Shadowborn, bamboozle, BBQ, lethal pursuer, nowhere to hide, pop, trail of torment.
They also exclusively run speed addons with chilli's.
I very much hope that you will encounter a Bubba like this. It's one of the best experiences dbd has to offer.
Otherwise I recommend watching Sethgameon on YouTube or twitch. One of the best Bubbas I've seen so far.
As of right now, I have played DBD for 4,370 hours.
I do drop pallets.
What does "greed" mean? I'm not familiar with it in terms of the game.

Bubba is one of the most fun killers to play against if you ask me. Especially the good mindgames and flick Bubbas. It's the best.
Sadly these types of Bubbas are pretty rare. I always give those tricks a try if I play him. It just heavily relys on addons and I tend to play him without addons.
Truly one of a kind. You have a killer that is fun to face, fun to play and is a walking meme machine. What more could you want?
I know.... A woman with a boopable pig mask. 🔥🐽🔥
I don't like how he can just one shot you, there's no chase.
I think he is the most likely Killer to bring his own perks as well.
Have you ever noticed that?
Aside from new Killers, like Alien and Chucky, the Killers I face almost never bring their own unlockables.
I'm not complaining, just find it interesting.
-
I play both roles, I'm a Bloodpoint Main, I go where the incentive is.
This is in no way a party game, it is just too intense and I love it.
As Survivor, there is nothing like opening the exit gates when the killer could come at any second. It gets my adrenaline rushing.
Everything down to the music and environments are very horror themed. I always love hearing that music on 1st hook, it's so suspenseful and never gets old.
Will they save me in time?
The situations you find yourself in are intense, even if you don't take the game seriously.
I think Mario Party and games advertised as such are party games. Not this game, in my opinion.

Maybe ego.
Some players just don't want to admit, that there are situations in which the killer can't be beaten. Especially a killer that is as funny as Bubba.
He is so annoying. I hate him, I can't play well against him in SoloQ and I doubt I'd be better in a swf. He either camps and all the Survivors gather to watch or he has BBQ and it's just a game of my teammates swapping hooks. I also hate those pig squealing noises. Anyway, if he's the killer in SoloQ, just hide your aura in a locker and wait for Hatch.

I reported this as well on NintendoSwitch.
It seems there is a glitch that prevents it from activating on certain characters, on certain generators.

why is there such a HUGE amount of people hacking now? Like they aren't even hiding there names. They have their youtubes and twiches right in their name. And live streaming them doing it.
Is this what I have to look forward to every game now? back to back same person :( I love(d) this game!
It's wild. Around 3:00AM EST they really seem to come out. I had a teammate hacking last night and I didn't know what to do.
They were chain stunning the killer, instantly healed, basekit DS without ever being hooked, teleporting to the roof of the shack.
I started recording after I escaped and filled out a ticket.
They even had two of the same add-ons for their med-kit 👍

If, by the highly unlikely event you'll read this (the guy's name was obscured and he was on a different system to me), I just want to acknowledge how badly Dramaturgy screwed you up in Shelter Woods.
Twice, you activated Dramaturgy to escape me and both times you became exposed. I feel you only had the chance to use it maybe once inbetween?
Genuinely, bad luck there. You played well otherwise and seemed to have the worse luck of anyone, running into not just 1 trap, but 2 in quick succession thereafter. This is just to acknowledge what happened and hope - if you read this - I fully appreciate bad luck was what got you, not me. Best of luck in your future trials!
More like a bad perk. Play silly perks, win silly prizes 🤷♂️

Sure, the only issue I have if there was a base kit Kindred is if a survivor instantly saw the killer's aura. I say this as someone who always run Kindred and one of the reasons is to see where the killer is headed after hooking. To know if I can sit on my gen or not. From a killer's point of view I think it's too punishing.
They won't see because of the bubble.

Well, I'd say have it like we discussed. The perk works as is and basekit just shows survivor auras. One boost to the perk I'd like to see is the "bubble" not obscure the killer's aura at all.
How about the perk is basekit as it is but only activates upon hooking for 7 seconds, then goes dark.
If the Killer enters the 16 meter radius, the perk activates again for another 10 seconds, increasing by 3 seconds until the Survivor is rescued or sacrificed?
Just brainstorming, what do you think?

Yeah, so you know how borrowed time went basekit but we still have the borrowed time perk?
What would you suggest the Kindred perk do if basekit Kindred was implemented the way you suggested?

Like I said it think it would be fairly easy to tell is someone is camping with the HUD and if you had Kindred even without the killer's aura. I just think this game should still require some game sense requirement and not everything spoon fed to you where you can run on autopilot.
What use do you want the perk itself to have?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3617399#Comment_3617399
I don't agree. Even without the killer's aura if you are also looking at the hub and the other survivors auras you'd have a decent idea if the killer is camping or not.
If it doesn't stay the way it is, I personally don't want it basekit. Survivors should know if you're being camped so they can rush the gens.

You guys should at least put in the effort to make Kindred basekit (no killer aura) and expand the survivor HUD to show totem cleansing/blessing, opening exit gates, unlocking chests and healing progress
No. Kindred needs to include killer aura or it is pointless. I'll take basekit Kindred as it is now and bhvr can take away the ant face camp feature that is worthless.

Hey, I recently made that same build, just using Kindred instead of Reactive Healing. Those 3 work well to heal yourself as well as teammates.

I'm on Switch, which already has terrible performance, and Nostromo is noticeably worse than most other maps. It seems to be a problem with newer maps in general, because the reworked Shelter Woods and Toba Landing also have this problem for me, even with FSR enabled.
Crank it up to 100%
Also, it resets every time you turn your game off. I'm on Switch and am so happy, this helps me tremendously.
-
@FastestVirginia said:
Can anyone tell me if they experience the same thing happening on Nostromo map?
I normally have 120fps in all maps, but suddenly when i get to the middle of nostromo, it drops to 70 for some reason. Could be nive to hear anything from devs to adress this, if this is a bigger issue for others.
Yes, on Nintendo Switch it is one of a few problem spots.
Turning on the new FSR Setting in the Graphics section and turning the sharpness up to 100% has been a God send!
It makes those spots much more stable!

I had a great match with Clown where I managed to 4K with 3 gens left. I was surprised to see two survivors took a toolbox (both with BNP) to the match.
Then I had a 2K with Pyramid Head where I made the mistake of using Rites of Judgement too many times. I had 2 survivors down (one already perished) and went after a good looper who managed to heal them. Eventually, it was a 2K.
Naturally, the team besting me had to do the usual toxic talk in endgame chat.
Can Pyramid Head see where survivors go when they are sent to the cage? Does he see the aura of the cage?

I hate games like this in SoloQ
We are all doing the generators until only one remains, the killer is having a horrible match, maybe two hooks.
Then, because nobody will help me do the last generator, the whole trial goes to hell.
Many such cases.
-
I don't like Leatherface and Pinhead, I find them unfun to play against. I'll take Skull Merchant over them.
On a separate note of importance, I get scared easily by Ghostface and The Pig. It's not unfun to play against them, but I'm always relieved when it is not them so I can focus.
I can handle Myers 99 times out of 100. I'm guessing that is because I play as him weekly.

Because if you drop the pallets too quickly you can become large portions of the map a dead zone too quickly and it is detrimental for you and your team mates later.
I suggest you to save pallets and only drop them if you are injured. There are a few exceptions in which is better to drop a pallet if you are not injured, for example: you are in Exposed state (obvious); the killer is the clown and you are affected by the gas, its dangerous to no predrop the pallet because he can hit yo easily again due the hindered effect; you are facing the Oni and he still didn't injure anybody, in this case is better to pre drop a pallet all the time because until he achieve his first hit he is a basic M1 killer with no power and delaying the first injure is recommended to stop his snowball.
So the term pre-drop is what I was doing? Dropping pallets while actively being chased?
This is why I'm glad we have the forms!
I thought pre-drop was when Survivors throw down a pallet at the start of the trial in order to be able to just vault them later.
I see that type of stuff, dropping at start of trial, rarely, but enough to have thought that was pre-dropping.
I have a lot to learn with regards to pallets 😕

Idk what it is. My games have been filled with survivors giving up, slugging, folks throwing matches :(
I had one guy harass me in chat and call me a bunch of names because I was healing my teammates fast. Tired of being an odd balls mental punching bag. It's creepy!
I've had two of these matches where the survivors throw themselves at me as soon as I hit Tier III on Myers.
It's incredibly awkward and annoying simultaneously.

For unwanted, you simply must collect snowballs and throw them at snowmen. You'll eventually hit the one you want.
For the second challenge, you must approach 2 scary snowmen and be startled by them.

I must slug for the 4k….
Yo, I've never made it past Iridescent II as Killer. I thought slugging meant less hooks, less chances to please the Entity.
I recall someone saying that you can lose pips if you kill everyone too quickly.
You can really slug for a 4K, hook everyone omly once and rank up?

I had a match where I was on the hook and Legion hid in a snowman.
The bot knew he was hiding there and was afraid to approach. Another survivor finally managed to save me but got hooked by Legion.
Something does need to be done about stuff like that. The BOTS can sometimes be too smart.
They know where the killer is through walls and they seem to have basekit 'Left Behind' too. I let out an audible groan when I get a BOT as Killer.

@sizzlingmario4 said:
Were they not getting Exposed even after hooking another (non-obsession) survivor? Hooking the obsession will transfer the obsession to a new survivor and cause that survivor to scream, but does not apply any additional effects at that moment. You’re not meant to retroactively get the Exposed effect at the same time as that, you need to get another hook on a non-obsession for that to happen.
Oh I see. It happened to me as Survivor. I was not the obsession at first.
I turned into the obsession in the middle of opening the exit gates but did not get the notification nor was I Exposed. So I guess it is working properly.
Thank you @sizzlingmario4 for catching my mistake.

While I do think Distortion should be tweaked so that charges actually matter, I don't think Calm Spirit is an issue at all. It was a dead perk that's only been made relavent due to how busted UW is.
Doesn't it counter Spies of the Shadows too? I see a lot of killers opting for it instead of aura reading.

Same. I run Bond and have seen my team mates teleporting, sliding across the whole map, killers having perks without them equipped, etc. I try to report them all but I end up spending my time doing that instead of playing -_-;
Most I'll do is text report now. I don't have it in me to record everything.
I had a Chucky the other day with basekit Rancor.
I was heading towards the exit gate when I got the notification, he downed and Mori'd me.
In the end game screen, not only did he not have Rancor, he had no Mori perks, add-ons or offerings at all whatsoever 🤔

Unfortunately some people wrap their lives up in games and take them way too seriously. Probably stems from IRL inadequacies, idk. Or they're kids. It's easy to be rude from behind a screen. I think in general most people who play this game are fine. Everyone has their moments. But there are a very very unpleasant minority and we've all come across them at one time or another.
You know what's funny and infuriating? Since we don't have voice chat, I always picture the player looking like their survivor irl.
Some survivors' demeanor gets on my nerves more than others (Laurie and Leon) 😆
On a brighter note, I always think of you when I'm playing with a Zarina 🤗

I think the bots may have been adjusted for the better.
I died in the trial, but when it was just BOT Leon and another player remaining, the BOT opened the Exit Gate and went back to rescue her from both 1st and 2nd hook during EGC!!!
They both made it out. I'm impressed, BHVR!

Looping is definitely not my strongest thing.
Your helpful tips yesterday have helped me, not just as Survivor, but also as Killer.
I was always perplexed as to why some Survivors would let me chase them in a loop and not drop the pallet to stun me.
It really helps in both roles and I'm going to do my best to memorize some good loops.
