As neighbouring reigion of the Scott's I can tell that scotts of all sizes are not to be ######### with.

He may not be big and beefy but he kick your ass 6ft up for you to land 6 ft under

Not picking on him because Scottish lol, but he is a goblin-man. I wish the devs would add more killers that look like they could crush you to death vs pummel you to death.

This embodies the very point I'm making. Its not inherently scummy, you only think it is because you are unable to attribute anything but malicious intent to the action. The survivors DC'ing may not have been scummy either we don't know, but generally there isn't a lot of reason to DC as a survivor purely because you can just suicide on hook and still get some BP's.

I see you don't understand the point I'm making, so I guess just think what you will. Sadly we will see more rage quits, accusations of scummy play and general toxicity until the community stop trying to project their emotional fragility onto the other side and just play the game.

After all its only a game.

Idk where you're getting all that from. I only called a killer scummy.

OK if you feel that way, but can you see that this mentality is a problem. Half the toxicity in this game comes from people applying an arbitrary standard of play to others. Then you add on the mindset that anyone who doesn't match that standard of play is a scumbag.

Basically you have a single piece of info that in no way explains when the mori was used or why. Its part of the game and its use is legitimate but you'll call someone a scumbag for playing it.

Also my point doesn't defend its use, it calls out the uniformed judgement made by just looking at one picture.

Once again the onus is on the killer to justify their play while the real culprits here are the DC'ing survivors. You don't know when they DC'd or why "but the killer used a mori so they must be a scumbag". Its a very uninformed and narrow minded way to look at things. Shrugging your shoulders won't change that.

You can play however you want, but scummy plays are scummy plays.

Why is the killer a scumbag? With 3 DCs his only change for decent points and to try preventing depipping is at least hooking someone. Tell me why the killer doesn’t deserve a chance to get points and a kill but the survivor deserves an escape?

It amazes me that people still blame the killer in this situation instead of their three teammates

    @pseudechis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1548172#Comment_1548172

How do you know everyone hadn't been hooked twice that game? I've had people DC at all points in the game I never understand the play the whole game to dc on last hook play but it happens, do I still owe everyone else an escape in that scenario?

Basically there is an absence of facts here and in the absence of facts humans make up their own narrative in line with their emotional opinions. It is the basis for conspiracy theories and religion. If you are unhappy when you get mori'd its natural to attribute scummy play on behalf of the killer based on the picture alone, when in reality you have no idea so should save judgement.

Jumping to misconceptions helps no one.

Yeah, and it's still a scummy play sorry I'm not gonna defend players like that🤷‍♂️

  • @pseudechis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1548086#Comment_1548086

The killer doesn't owe you an escape just because your team DC'd. MORI or otherwise.

Still a scumbag for killing them after 3 DC's.

  • Even if they did add coms, not everyone is going to use them, or even use them properly. It would still be nice to have though.

  • Not really, popular free games have always had a hacking/botting/trolling/smurfing problem. If they had a lackluster playerbase with little growth I could see them making dbd free.

  • @Customapple0 said:

    I'd say it's a soft counter.

If you find the person with the key and hit them, you can patrol the key in-between gens to either guarantee it gets destroyed or get free hits on whoever decides to come back for it. Although this depends if the person with the key doesn't just stow it somewhere, as you said.

That's really what I meant to say, but people from Twitter, twitch, forums, ect... say it's a direct counter when it really isn't.

  • Most-likely candyman, but I'm still holding out for predator or a xenomorph. If it's a Stephen King killer then I hope it's Christine :D

Men's heights are taller as well so in some instances you can see some of them if they're hiding in a locker as illustrated here.

  • @EuphoricBliss35 said:

This question has a lot of variables when answered (which killer, which add ons, which perks, etc). It also depends how aggressive you’re playing and you’re own skill level. Also, there’s no way to determine 4 people are all running DS/Unbreakable.

    with that said:

If you’re running Ruin: the goal is gen pressure, hit, push people off, rotate. Down if they path to a bad area. Know when to take a hit or a pallet. You need a hit or pallet in 15-20 seconds or you need to drop chase and rotate. If you get a hit and they ran to a bad area, down them. If they ran to a decent area, leave them.

if you’re running corrupt, know spawn points. Go there. Follow above advice.

There’s a lot more that can said that is so dependent on game situation and skill

They always run the same combo D's & unbreakable but they mix up everything else. I've 3&4ked against them before but on badham and especially Ormond gens just fly.

I haven't tried Corrupt yet so thank you for the advice.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

Eat the DS and try to get them to use BT early on.

Look for 3 gens together or some which are in a bunch. ive seen this map have 5 gens in half of it and if they are smart one will always try to get one of them done and they may eat through the pallets around them potentially making them unsafe zones for later on.

Don't worry about losing gens which are cleary far away from others. Those are the ones you want done at it starts to force them into half the map.

That works on badham, but Ormond is where a "3 gen" can be gens 30m equally apart. I do eat the D's early, but chasing and downing someone else always takes 1 gen because of how far apart they are. Some chases only last 30sec but by the time i go to a gen it's above 50%.

  • @RakimSockem said:

Have you tried going after someone else? Works for me shrug

They all look the same. I'm not tunneling after each unhook and was asking for advice

  • Not joking, but the tutorial maps

  • @JesterClown said:

Here come all the survivors that will tell you to not tunnel and that swfs arent common and that map offering should be standard and then they will call you a bad killer cause you considered playing moris.

My advice is its going to be frustrating, but if you can draw out an early DS and eat it, its extremely favorable for you. If you really are confident its a DS, then slug them, but keep an eye out for their unbreakable by staying near them. If they are just blasting gens, its gunna suck and your just gunna have to let the person and their crutch perks go free, because situations such as these are just so heavily in a survivors favor. The best thing is to try to get them to waste those perks.

Unfortunately there's always one person on a gen always on the other side or extremely far away. They're smart so they aren't using they're unbreakables when I slug, they'll just get someone to pick them up. What makes it worse is they're always dressed the same so it's harder to keep track of who's who.

  • As someone who used to d/c, when I 1st got the game, it was because it was scary. Once I got some experience it was entitlement, like that shouldn't have hit me I'm leaving, I'm not gonna let you Mori me I'm leaving ect.

  • Ah ok, as long as they fix it so it can't be used is enough for me, but thank you.

  • Unless his trap is clipped under the ground, how visable do you want these traps? It's kinda unfair if you can see his traps 5m away so you just run around it.

When the killer brings an Ebony Mori, I think the game is already pretty much ruined for everyone... Just sayin'. Not saying it's alright to DC, though. Just suicide on hook if you don't want to continue playing in that game.

I could say when a killer brings The Game/ add-ons/ or just playing Freddy or Spirit then the game is pretty much ruined. No one wants to have a teammate that kills themselves on hook either.

  • Pls no, ranks can't differentiate between skill and playing for a while. MMR should alleviate that so you don't end up with boosted red ranks.

  • @PerkyPerky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1502047#Comment_1502047

Who doesn't? And hatch needs to let go because it is yet another second chance for survivors who play poorly. EGC should start when third survivor is dead.

But wait for it, some survivors actually said (I kid you not) hatch is killer-favored!

What second chances do killers get? Maybe NOED? One?

Hatch is killer-sided if both survivor and killer are on the hatch at the same time.

  • If its short like "you're trash" or only won because map/killer/perks/my team is trash, I ignore it, but if it's long I send nice essay.

  • I still like the devs idea that each placement is unique and won't effect the other placements, but how was you last game as hag before this one? The devs said only new players start at the default, so if your last game of hag wasn't good that could be why you got matched with them.

  • Yeh its really annoying, I hate that one jungle gym with 5 lockers all next to each other with the next closest locker being shack. It would be kinda funny if the devs put singular lockers in the middle of nowhere tho.

Not to beg the question, but has leatherface ever worn a black person's face in the films? (Not coming at him or anyone, just I don't recall it.)

No, there are people who cosplay black people and do a very good job, is it racist then? No, it’s not.

As a black woman who cosplays, the complaint isn't that people who aren't black are cosplaying black characters. Its they're painting they're skin brown and then cosplaying the character. Unless it isn't a natural skin color, it's very insensitive to change your skin color just for a cosplay.

  • @VolantConch1719 said:

It goes both ways. If you remove it but keep the other three original Survivor faces, there would be questions regarding why Claudette, the only member of the original 4 that happens to be black, is not included. The only way I could see this at all happening is remove Jake's face as well and just leave Dwight and Meg.

Not everything that COULD be used for racist purposes is DESIGNED for racist purposes.

I never really got this argument. Black people wouldn't question why it was removed or not put it the game, because the 1st thing they would think of is blackface. I'm not trying to speak for all black people, but I wouldn't care if they removed it or never put it in. Like you said they didn't design it to be racist, but they probably did know some players would use it and act like scumbags to further the point.

These survivors with 8 and 40 hours are supposed to be at a similar MMR as my 2000 hour Nurse but for some reason they don’t seem to play like it.

Is it really their fault they chose to leave such an unbalanced game that was out of their power?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/EK20D2XRIS4Q/dea7b7e2-36c3-4ec5-8d38-8ba87ba5cf06.jpeg

The match probably was unfair, but that doesn't give them the right to d/c.

  • Forcing survivors to throw down pallet after pallet just to go down 3 seconds later is the best

  • @faff said:

    why would I bother prestiging?

The prompt asking if you want to prestige after every bloodweb gets annoying

  • Dbd was never and has never been killer sided. People who d/c are the most entitled people who play this game. The devs are incredibly wise for not going to streamers for balance changes. Solo survivor experience hasn't improved as much as the killer experience.

  • I think it's to get survivors to play as altruistically as possible. You have to go out of your way to make sure you and another survivor escape and prioritize their survival over yours. But you can't control how other survivors play so gl getting it without a swf :/

  • More things to interact with on map like a one use window, ladders, doors, ect...

  • @Hazerino said:

the dc penalty in place won't do anything but prevent killers from dcing, survivors will still kill themselves on first hook if they don't want to play. dc penalties are stupid and im not sure why'd they would reactive them right after an update when the game is gonna be buggy as all hell

I'd rather someone kills themselves on hook than outright d/c

  • For a horror game there sure is a lack horror fans >:/ Human centipede is an iconic horror that I'm sure if you're forced to play against will grow to love

  • I've been red ranks for both killer and survivor for almost a year and it doesn't feel like an accomplishment. Staying at rank 1 feels like an accomplishment however.

  • I've played on xbox, switch, and mobile and imo mobile is the most toxic since it has the most hackers.

ever wonder why hag is miles above trapper in terms of strength? because she doesnt waste time walking around the map picking up her power.

Truthfully killer tiers besides Nurse are completely subjective. Top-tier hags and trappers could convince someone why their main is the best killer in game.

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

Old Freddy had busted mechanics. New Freddy is braindead. If I had it my way he'd be reworked again. Even if it was just a touch up of his current state. Not put a survivor immediately asleep after hitting them, instead accelerate the timer speed by 100%. At least that would actively force the Freddy to utilise Gen Projection more and actually rotate his pressure properly. Leaving a survivor that's awake and not falling asleep soon, instead injuring them and waiting for them to be vulnerable to his power attachments (Snare/Pallet).

Old Freddy imo, is completely unique & different from all the other killers they've released so far. But New Freddy feels like Mint-rag hag, fake pallet doctor, and clown-lite. I'm not gonna say he doesn't require skill, but the skill cap is alot lower now.

  • @Hoodied said:

Freddy had several issues and several nerfs/shadow nerfs to his power to the point where he could only apply pressure in groups of survivors, but at the same time could only hurt survivors who were asleep, which cause survivors to commit to gens or commit to hex totems and Freddy was forced to watch these leave him because he just wasn’t fast enough. He was an extremely weak killer with a power that was countered by failing skill-checks in the middle of a chase.

Along with this, his power was littered with bugs everywhere, one of these bugs were if he was to swing at almost the same time a survivor fell asleep, like a decimal of seconds before they fell asleep, he would go through the bit animation without actually harming the survivor.

Freddy had to get reworked cause he was in a state where he couldn’t get balanced without causing him to either be incredibly weak (Like he was) or too strong, and he was never too strong.

Along with this as well, players played him like he was a tunneler killer, they would tunnel an unhooked to death and keep chaining it, I even remember some just camping. How he was designed wasn’t healthy at the time and new Freddy is 10x better than the original freddy as current freddy can hit awake survivors

See some if those were bugs and unintentional. What many people wanted was to was for survivors to fall asleep faster if they were completing an action, but I see the complaint on standing still waiting for them to fall asleep. And like you said people would tunnel as Freddy, lose and ask for a complete rework instead of trying to play him differently.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Freddy was not a good killer and couldn't deal with the chases. He needed that rework and is better for it. I never want to see him return despite how fun he was. Chases are important.

    -a rank 1 freddy main

Chases are important, Freddy's chases were just different from everyone elses.

Although I somewhat understand the miss flashlight save as a reason to disconnect.

Whilst I don't disconnect when I'm playing survivor, I'm often tempted to DC when I see a random do something stupid like waste god pallet, waste pallets in general, make a dreadful flashlight save attempt (I once had a random Nea flashlight the ground when trying to make a flashlight save), etc.

Maybe it's just my games, but I rarely get randoms who try to flashlight save other randoms so I'm more appreciative. I never even expect them to try you know.

I also assume people who waste pallets are just selfish so instead of taking risks for them I play normally and in most cases I have an ok match. The way I see d/cing when you aren't being prevented from playing the game is bad sportsmanship.

  • I know and I hate it so much. I had one guy d/c because I missed a flashlight save, another d/c after someone went down too early, multiple on maps they didn't like, and last match they brought a game offering and d/ced.

lethal implying they only damage one health state when uninjured and can be escaped? Lethal isnt the right word here.

The others can't injure, immobilize, or put you into death state. This is what the devs have said on why Hag and Demo start with all their traps but not trapper. Hags traps hinder your movement, and demo only makes you oblivious to him if you can't hear his 200dB footsteps.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

Can anyone even provide a valid reason for him to not start out with ALL his traps?

With just 5 traps, a trapper could easily close off alot of loops and possibly half the map depending. His traps are also the most lethal out of the other 2 trap killers. Imagine your on shelter woods a trapper could easily trap shack and 4 other loops all before you even have half a gen done. Also, preventing a 3 gen becomes significantly harder if a trapper spawns around a 3 gen.

  • @wisdomwielder said:

I'm curious to see the actual game environment this will create. High skill matches will probably only contain the most viable killers available (Nurse, Spirit, Huntress, Freddy). Good luck seeing any killer diversity of you have a high rating!

I would also love to know how the MMR system accounts for SWF, since it boosts your chances for survival tremendously. Also what happens if a high rating survivor and a low rating queue together?

If they're in a swf, I'm gonna assume it averages out.
