I'm a console player (mostly Solo survivor) and I've had crap experiences with PC SWF's/players.
Like being in a game with a 3-man SWF of matching Feng Mins. I just play like usual, do my best. I'm a team player, and never let people go to struggle if it can be helped. Always try for the endgame save etc.
I unhooked them all at least once. When I was being tunneled (Wraith), I managed to slip away, and not a single one of them would heal me. They acted like I didn't exist. It wasn't because a gen was almost done or anything, just flat out ignored. See, they had a key i didn't know about and were planning to leave me behind the whole time. Which they did.
Then they sent me messages telling me "UR BAD LOLZ".
In fact, when I was brand new to DBD I learned to turn off my messages at times because PC players would message me after a match when I was still learning and insult me for "being a console player haarrrr u all suck". And asked why am I such a "poor loser" that I can't get a gaming PC?
Moral of the story is that there are crummy people regardless of what platform they play on. It's not exclusive to any one in particular.
-
I'm not going to add to arguing over what perks people bring etc etc.
Just wanted to say, I'd love to face a Killer who wanted to be casual and maximize BPs when Streamers/Cakes are offered. All I usually get are Killers that stare the first down survivor in the face until death lol.

Okay, then make Nemesis a survivor. This would make me and that guy who always complains about Nemesis very happy.
Only if he gets a beach party cosmetic, otherwise no.

There seems to be an explosion of Killers that camp to grief since the SBMM dropped. Last evening I played with a friend (but we play like 2 Solo survivors. We don't use coms or anything). 7/9 matches, Killers either literally facecamped or camped and unabashedly tunneled at 4-5 gens. That left 2 matches that you think would be normal, but no. I had probably the crummiest Twins match ever, where the Killer did nothing but constantly slug with Victor. Never hooked anyone. The entire point was to slug all 4 and leave them to bleed out. 2 people disconnected on that one, the Killer still wouldn't hook my friend or me if they downed us, NO gens were done. It was miserable.
Only normal match I had was against a Legion.
These Killers were leaving the matches with less than 20k blood points. Sometimes less than 15k. They don't care about BPs. Every match there would be a disconnect or hook suicide. Many times two.
Against one Deathslinger, after 2 people disconnected (he would just stand on the basement stairs and aim for anyone attempting to save so everyone killed themselves), I was the last survivor and he downed me, then just shot at me constantly for the entire bleed out timer.
So I conclude these players know exactly what they're doing. They're purposely being "toxic" for no other reason than they want to be. My friend and I, and the Solos we're matched with were just engaging in normal game play (no teabagging, no clicky*clicky flashlights, no poor behaviour at the Killer).
Game should be renamed "Camp Till Daylight".
Before the SBMM, camping was annoying, but at the very least if you managed to get to red ranks you had team mates who were more likely to know how to handle it, and it would be less frequent because Killer wouldnt want to depip. I find with the Grade system, no one cares. Hell, even I don't care about the Grades. The "reward" for getting to Iri 1 is a pittance. I just feel like people tried harder or strived more with the old rank system because it gave them a goal. and it felt like it meant something.

I never said 8 gens done in the first chase. also can you please not be so rude/sarcastic/condescending? I made this discussion for people to have conversations in and not to be a complete detriment to society through the use of verbal abuse in order to put others down so you can feed your ego.
Let's have a look:
I replied to your post genuinely, explaining why camping and tunneling is miserable for Solo queue players. You went ahead and passive aggressively insinuated I needed you to problem solve for me. You made an absurd claim that Solo queue survivors can somehow get all 5 gens done AND escape in the time the first survivor is facecamped to death. Which is not only false, but indicates you don't really know much about the Solo survivor role.
Throughout this whole thread you refer to survivors as "entitled", "crying about being camped", that the devs are biased, that you don't care if it's unfun for anyone, and that survivors alone cause the game toxicity. On top of that, you admitted you camp and tunnel specifically to be vindictive and enjoy it.
So you have little interest in having a conversation or hearing anything that challenges your pre-existing narrative. You don't really want to know why so many players find it upsetting (the question of your OP). You just came here for a hug box and to have people agree with you. Which is fine- seriously- I'm very pro players regardless of role wanting a bit of solidarity.
But don't pretend I'm somehow victimizing you for not tolerating you being condescending to me first.

@CluelessWanderer nope its 100% abuse
1.Killer not see boxes on map
2.Survivor has unlimit time to run with box and not get any effects for exmaple killer could be see little time aura of survivor with box.
3.Survivor can begin solve box in 100% safe situation (when killer carries other survivor)
and after this u think its not abusing???
I remember when survivors complain about twins, they told its abusing when victor knock survivors and told "Its abuse abuse nerf it" but it was smart tactic and good gameplay on this killer...so...
It's not "abuse" champ lol. It annoys you, but it's not abuse.
-
I think survivors should just start in a chain hunt, then if they pick up the box it explodes and they instantly die./s
Yeah no, if they wait for the opportunity to solve the box when another survivor is being carried, it is simply the smartest thing to do. It's also not always possible to do that. Many times no one has been downed but the chain hunt is looming and they have to solve it anyways.

even if a killer facecamps with how long a chase can last a single survivor can get 8 gens done by themselves with 0 genspeed boosters and no other survivors helping. the survivors can easily get all the gens done and leave while the killer gets one kill. If you need the math on it I can definitely get you that as I have done so with many others before.
"If you need the math huurrrr".
Wow, no. You asked a question about why survivors hated being camped (though that would be obvious to just about anyone with a pulse and a whisper of empathy). I just replied the main reason. The fantasy that Solo queue survivors get 8 gens done in the first chase is just that; fantasy.
Carry on facecamping though.
-
It bothers people when Killers camp and tunnel from the very beginning when there are 4-5 gens up. Nothing like waiting for your match to queue up, only to be staring into a Killers face, have him down you again steps from the hook, and having him remove you from the game before it's even begun. You leave with no blood points and a depip when you were basically almost powerless. For the remaining 3, it becomes just an exercise in getting as many blood points as possible because you know the Killer will just camp the next person they find, and everything becomes about who will outlast the other and maybe find the hatch. Even then, you can still depip because you've not been able to get any altruism points, barely any chases etc. In Solo queue people start just disconnecting or killing themselves on hook. So it feels like a huge waste of time, along with a complete lack of sportsmanship.
However, it's understandable as others have said if the Killer is behind, or all the gens are done etc. At least then they're doing it tactically.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
A SWF without clicking and gg ez is not a SWF at all. You would never fit in old man.
LOL It's not an SWF without a pastel coloured Feng Min with a flashlight screeching about Baby Killers.
-
No.
It's awful. The previous Rank based system was actually superior. Basing your skill level on escapes is ridiculous for Solo survivors. It does nothing but encourage selfish game play. That person who wasted the Killers time through the last 3 gens? yeah, LEAVE them to die on the hook during EGC. Don't even try to rescue, because the Killer is face-camping and God knows, if I die, I'll be increasingly stuck with potatoes as team mates and camping Killers being sucked further downinto the bog. Not to mention it works entirely contrary to their pip system, which encourages team work? So if I escape (through a door mind you, not the hatch), and I've done next to nothing but hide, I won't pip and get their "monthly reward". But if I do everything to pip and don't escape? I'll be screwed in MMR.
Do these narcissists even play their own game?
-
So if Killers gain a higher MMR for number of sacrifices and not chases, hooks, etc. Camping and tunneling is the most rewarded strategy.
This completely explains why I've been surrounded by potatoes in Solo queue and have Killers camping 9/10 matches since SBMM dropped.
I have a bloody goldfish that could have come up with a better system than this. I'm so pissed and resentful that I ever spent any money on this wretched game.

Alright. Ya got me. This is the forum equivalent of bumbling into a pallet stun.
I think when one has been abused for long enough, one gets used to it and tends to perpetuate the cycle. I struggle not to do so, but sometimes that little ######### Feng just gets the better of you, rubs your ######### nose it, and you lash out. I am absolutely, positively certain that you've never done that. You've never waited by the hatch just so the poor killer gets to see you slip away through it. And even if you did, you were just waving goodbye like a cute little anime character... not doing it as a way to show that killer the middle finger.
So I have some options now. I can just refuse to ever give what I get all too often. Or, I could just stop playing this game that I've invested some time and money in and that I would otherwise enjoy because I clearly am not emotionally mature enough to handle it.
But... see... both of those are ways of laying down... and taking it.
This made me lol.
You assume none of us here have played both sides. i HAVE played Killer. I'm on console, so it's doubly frustrating because devs don't want to optimize it. i KNOW that Feng. i really do. I know the Blendette with the flashlight who feverishly clicks *follow me! I'm an elite loopAr! Come on, follow me and let me waste your time!". I remember SWF's and how they'd teatbag using the old Object of Obsession. Honestly? I gave up on playing Killer. It's too stressful with coordinated SWF's.
However, you're right that I don't teabag, or any of that crap. I just play normally. But I get it. it's sometimes hard to shed the resentment from one match to the other. I guess I don't know what the answer is.

Well, it has to be someone's fault. Survivor's Guilt has a whole new meaning in this game. Reap what your fellow Survivors sow, I guess? You want me to lay down and take it? Get outta here with that nonsense.
Point out exactly where I stated or even implied you should "lay down and take it" when it comes to poor behaviour.
I'll wait.
-
@CodeBleu said:
I honestly don't try to tunnel or camp. But if I do, it's because some of your compatriots got a bit clicky and tea baggy in the last game. If you don't want your fun ruined, don't ruin someone else's or look the other way when your teammates do. If you never behave toxically, I feel sorry for you. But so long as I'm being shown the finger, I won't have any mercy.
Wait so I'm a Solo queue survivor, and I have no idea who the people I'm matched with are, especially whoever you had in a previous match, but it's MY fault some little twerp clicked a flashlight at you? You know we can't actually communicate with each other, right? I have no control over some rando's behaviour. Much of the time, I hate finding myself with these people because they're usually not nearly as good as they think they are and become a detriment to the team.
-
@SloppyVoldemort said:
Or you could get a SWF together... I mean, that's the way they want to go with the game right?
I'm beginning to think that is in fact what they want. To just eliminate Solo queue after a certain amount if time because they're too incompetent to figure out how to balance Killer/SWF while Solo queue is in the mix.
-
So bloody disappointing. I guess they haven't made Solo queue hell enough and had to go one step lower.
-
Omg that is an insanely idiotic thing to base skill on.
I was so hoping they would have thought SOMETHING through for a change. I always try to rescue a hooked team mate during endgame. I made my peace if I die getting someone out, because I thought the points I accumulate doing everything else mattered.
Bloody hell, why do they despise Solo survivors so much?

Not at all. I played both roles competitively/in tournaments for almost two years. The killer might *try* to secure struggle and go for a tunnel, but survivors play around it in a few ways.
It's not as easy as simply sitting on the hook if the survivors are any good and have some game sense. They either force a 1 for 1 trade with BT while you lose 3 gens in the process or they'll immediately save with 2 survivors. And if you try to tunnel, they block for the player.
Solo players are perfectly capable of doing these things, but they often don't know how. Players wait way too long to save and get grabbed in the process. They save without BT. They immerse near hook, don't save, and also get found and downed (which is particularly egregious). And oftentimes, even when they successfully make the save, they don't block for the player on death hook.
Players need to be better.
This is absolutely true. Solos suffer the most, because as I said above, most will not wait out to full struggle. You get people trying to Kobe maybe- but they usually immediately get to phase 2, and let go. They do not want to entertain it for a hot minute.
But even if they do, you will inevitably have the first person who goes in to try to save who makes the realization that the Killer is camping. If they aren't grabbed/slugged (for example, Ghostfaces usually crouch behind a rock near a hook to expose the rescuer and one shot down). Or Make Your Choice etc. Solos have to run perks to mainly aid themselves because you can't rely on anyone. So it's rare to have Prove Thyself. You can't communicate where anyone is, what the progress is on the gens, coordinate to work together etc. They might be able to get all gens done after TWO survivors have been hooked and camped to death, and a third one is usually caught opening the gate.
Again, this is entirely dependent on random strangers being willing to struggle every second on the hook which does not happen often AT ALL.
It's really frustrating that camping is so effective against Solo queue. Devs really have to make a few more anti-camping perks, or provide incentive not to camp.

First, these tactics are not toxic. Bad game design maybe.
But, yes I am tired of it. I respect everyone and their right to play how they want. But, I like to play with my lady when I am not in solo. And it has become impossible. She just gets tunneled out of every single game anymore. Even if we offer ourselves to the killer in an attempt to get them to leave her alone and just let her play.
So, yes I am tired of it. I know both sides have complaints, But we are not all god like survivors, some of us like to have a few drinks and play with our unskilled partners.
I know high MMR makes games just as tough for some killers. But, please, we are far from that death squad. ######### my lady plays hardly at all and my other buddy plays with only 1 finger on his right hand. No hyperbole, lost most of his hand in an explosion when he was young.
But sure, tunnel and camp us because someone, somewhere, has to play against some great survivors.
This resonates with me because my partner and I are the same. We grab a few drinks, and think; "*let's have some fun this evening, why not try DBD?"*.
Naive, I know.
When my partner has tried it, and is being face-camped, he asks me how he's supposed to get away from the Killer *when the Killer is standing right there* and downs him immediately after unhook.
... well uh...magic.
We decided to try stealth. So one game he ends up as the last survivor, only to have the Killer slug him, carry him to the hatch, close it in his face, then proceeds to let him fully bleed out while he rings the bell (wraith).
Needless to say, I got a "*Why do you like this game? It's filled with little a*holes".
BECAUSE I HATE MYSELF OF COURSE.

I'm just trying to get survivor challenges so I don't get how me opening a chest to get an item is a playstyle issue. And it isn't even that their opinion gets to me its the constant negative reinforcement from people attacking me. I went to a guy's stream and was like "I was trying to get an ultra rare item but the Jane let herself die on hook at 5 gens" and instantly he just started saying "I don't care about your challenges. F outta here with your challenges this is high MMR gameplay" like what did I do??? Literally in what way was that an appropriate reaction. A human being can only take so much of that before it starts making them depressed.
I first started playing DBD last January as survivor when a friend suggested I try it. l had NO idea what I was doing, and my friend promptly stopped playing entirely so I had no help. Needless to say, I was a true n00b. I remember getting my first salty message from a survivor team mate (and it was literally maybe the 5th match I ever played lol); "You lost the entire match for us, you stupid expletive".
I didn't even know people could message me on PS4 LOL. I quickly learned to make my messages friends only. Problem solved.
That being said, now that I'm a more seasoned player, I've fully learned the heights that bad manners, pettiness, and unsportsmanlike conduct can achieve in the playerbase now, and I recommend you just grow a suit of armour, roll your eyes and move on. I don't care what some basement dwelling 15 year old spews at me after school in a fit of rage. I have a life. But I'd suggest you resist going to streams to explain yourself. Turn off your messages/chat and just send the screeching into the abyss.
If it makes you feel better, I've been running Plunderer's Instinct for fun recently and open every chest I see lol. Not sorry about it.
-
The camping/tunneling has been constant since SBMM dropped for me playing Solo queue. I gave up playing after 8 matches last night. Every single one had a camping/tunneling Killer. I don't mean in clutch situations, or 1 gen left, or Killer is having a hard time- anything where you can totally get it. I mean at 5 gens. Even if 2 people disconnected leaving 2 vs 1 at the beginning of the game. You could throw yourself at these Killers, lie on the ground and implore them to go after you and give the one guy a break- but no. They tunnel through Borrowed Time, through DS.
It's kind of a Catch 22 with Solo survivor as well, because there is absolutely no incentive for a hooked, camped survivor to stick around while others "just do genz". People are so fed up they almost always hook suicide or disconnect immediately. So we're screwed either way.
I really wonder how this affects the match-making because it seems like this perpetual vortex. In all those games no one could pip up. I'd leave the match, even with a hatch escape at maybe 10k BPs. The Killers could kill 3 and come away from 16k BPs (because almost no chases, no brutality etc- just sacrifices). So if the match-making factors in escapes, Solo queues are screwed. If it's emblems, well we can't get many of those either. Even if we all "just did genzzzz" and left, we get next to nothing for altruism or boldness. We don't pip. This most likely forces us down the food chain in SBMM. And these aren't "low-MMR" Killers. They had full purple Meta perks, expensive cosmetics, hundreds or thousands of hours etc.
I've played Killer. It can be brutally frustrating with SWFs, who just have an unfair advantage if they're on coms. I wonder if Killers get fed up and assume everyone can be a 4-man and just decide; "That does it. I wlil kill you no matter what".

I can understand BT in this scenario but why Iron Will? DS would be a better choice.
I got DS too lol.
Iron Will because it increases the chances of losing a tunneling Killer or not being the first downed/camped.
-
I always equip BT and Iron Will not because I want to, I have to if I actually want a chance to play the game I paid for. Ever since SBMM, every Killer camps and tunnels. Yesterday, I played 8 matches. 7 Killers just lingered at the hook and tunneled everyone. Even if there were only 2 survivors left and 4 gens up; camp and tunnel. I feel like both Survivors and Killers kind of have no choice but to run certain perks.
-
With Pinhead imo, once again the devs design things around Killers and SWF, with Solo queue a distant afterthought. With SWF, you can designate someone on the box at all times. With Solo, no one wants to do the damn box. In my matches as Solo, I am constantly doing it. I can be injured and on the other side of the map, and yet no one will solve the cube until we're all in a chain hunt, and I'm limping my way to it, trying to grab it, passing 'team mates' trying to do generators with chains on them. It's ridiculously annoying.
And as others have said, add the same build of Hoarder + Franklin's. Rinse, repeat. It's really miserable.
-
Love the look of it, and the atmosphere, but I hate playing on it.
Everytime I see it as a map offering I hover over closing the game because I know it will be a Pig main who camps to get RBT's on everyone and do I feel like running around from box to box in vain to get a trap off my head? LOL

I really like the concept art but I wonder if it was too idealized for DBD, which has always had a more realistic quality to it's character designs. I kind of like that they try to make the survivors look like real people and not like everyone is a face-tuned instagram model.
I still like Jane.

Not gonna go on a whole typing post but goodbye DBD. Finally uninstalled after 4 years. I loved DBD. Playing my favorite killers. Chasing survivors and scaring them. I mean it was amazing. It's no fun for a survivor to Press E and "Outplay " me for distance. It's disgusting what the Dev's have done. I'll still look for updates and watch some streamers but I won't be playing. Thanks to anyone who read and agrees or doesn't. Happy hunting in the fog!
I hope you find something you enjoy. I haven't been on DBD for that long ( 8 mos) but I see how the changes come hard and fast, and how much is ignored at the same time.
Godspeed good sir.

My team mates are more likely to fully open the gates (instead of 99% the doors) and run out even if I'm on my first hook, there's NO 'Noed", and after I've saved their arses all game.

It is confirmed that there should not spawn new chains while you are actively solving the box.
though there might have been chains already spawned when you where starting the action and they just needed some time before shooting at you. This is intentional and can be avoided by paying attention and/or positioning yourself before you start to solve the box.
Really? I get hit with chains in the chain hunt all the time when solving the box.
Yesterday I faced a Pinhead and it was literally a constant Chain Hunt. Even if the box was solved. The Chain hunt never ended for me the entire match. I was wondering at the time if it was a bug, or a cheat- but I'm not familiar much with Pinhead's Add-ons so I was wondering if it was that.

She still won’t be able to catch survivors because she can’t see them,
Buff suggestion: Make her 3 times her current size.
-
I think she should move faster while phasing and be able to throw a survivor onto a hook like a football from across the map.
-
I just got out of a match where a Doctor face-camped a team mate to death, then the second last survivor helped him hunt me down, and he gave her the hatch after he hooked me.
What a fun game this is! /s
-
I personally can't stand Trickster just because I find him annoying lol. Most people who play him just camp and tunnel right off the hook.
That being said, anyone who talks down to you for playing him needs to get outside more. He's a Killer in the roster and they just have to deal with it. Not everyone likes the same things. Just have fun.
-
With his temper I hope he hasn't skipped his blood pressure medication.
-
Sounds like someone is camping lol
-
I play almost exclusively Solo queue, and I can't go into a match without Borrowed Time and Decisive. The tunneling is neverending and every time I've tried to equip something in their place I've regretted it.
I always have Iron Will too. I know a lot of people consider it to be Meta and assume everyone who runs it is being sweatypr strategic etc. But I use it because I main Bill. Have you heard him when he's injured? He has the worst smoker's cough and his gasps sound like his rib cage is rattling in his heaving chest. Bill could be an anti-smoking ad.
-
I'm on console but sometimes I allow private messages (depends on my mood).
Solo queue, against a camping Wraith with the silent bell add-on (Boggles the mind). I always have Borrowed Time, but he tunneled 2 survivors to death right through it. It was just a wash of a game. No gens got done. I maxed out hook saves, so just a Claudette and I were left. I was injured and out of heals. He downs her really close to me so I hop in a locker right by the dungeon (on The Game). He hooks her in the basement, then cloaks, so I see his ripply shape going up and down the stairs over and over. Unfortunately she had never been hooked, and struggled to the absolute end. Would not let go lmao. I felt bad, but it was certain death if I had tried. She finally dies and the Wraith zips out of the basement and off somewhere before the sacrifice animation is finished. The hatch opens right near my locker. Bloody lucky.
I thought maybe the Claudette would be salty that I didn't try for her, but no. I got a message from the Killer (paraphrasing)
Killer: "You're a f**ing selfish team mate. Ur running BT I can't believe you didn't even try to save the Claudette".
Me: "Bro, you were camping the hook and tunneling all game. I saw you cloaked camping the basement stairs."
Killer: "Yeah so? You still should have tried".
Me: "You would have slugged me and then tunneled her down".
Killer: "Yeah that's called playing the game *insert colourful word. Console players suck."

After seeing how the last few chapters have been going i don't think the devs care about the killer half of the community for a few reasons
1 several resent chapters released sub par killers in the twins the trickster and sadly pinhead is even is poor with out his add ons
2 the only major buff was trickster which made him playable
3 the killer perks and add ons keep getting nerfed some times when they don't need it when a lot of survivor perks that do need it get left
4 gen rushing is still a major thing i just played a myers game and 3 of the gens were done in about 1 minute 30 seconds making it impossible to react
5 killers get punished for camping and tunneling when its most of the time the only way for us too get kills
6 twins still need a buff but are left too rot
if anyone doesn't feel the same then that's fine this is just from my point of view and my opinion all i hope for is that the killers get a bit of attention that a lot of them need
"Punished for tunneling"
How so? Do you mean because Decisive Strike exists? Asking genuinely.

People in here implying survivors are 'greedy' trying to save from a camping killer, I don't give a toss about points, I do however care that you're preventing someone from being able to play, or at least that's you goal, so yes, I'm willing to throw a match to at least try and get a camped survivor some extra play time.
Same. I always run Borrowed Time because the camping is extraordinary and I've got to the point where it just aggravates me. A Killer camping the basement at 5 gens is fully aware he's ruining the game, but has made a conscious decision to do it anyways. I've seen way too many Killers with screen names/profiles bragging about griefing the game (yeah, yeah- not official griefing but pretty darn close).
So I'll try to rescue if a teammate goes with me. Screw the points. I think most experienced Solos are just done with it. If I can't get make the rescue, I just kill myself on the hook. It has nothing to do with greed. I just feel bad for the player being camped.

That's interesting because my Solo queue escape rate fell. Nearly every match I've faced camping, tunneling Spirit, Blight, Nurse and Pinheads with all the top add-ons. I was in red ranks before SBMM, but I'm not some God-tier player. Just one of these that are decent/competent but I have weaknesses.
I don't know why I keep getting matched with the sweatiest Killers. The survivors I'm matched with range from competent to borderline potatoes.

Camping isn't unfair, it just really sucks to be the person on the receiving end. There are few things worse in this game than waiting for the combined 2-6 minutes (average) for a match only to get tunneled, hooked, and facecamped within the first thirty seconds. You just wasted a total of nearly ten minutes of your life for, what, half the price of a rusty toolbox? Just because another player decided that his or her victory was more important than your ability to play your game? Like I said: That ######### sucks.
I've said before that there should be a way to ease this removal of the player's agency. A small amount of bloodpoints, at least enough to cover the cost of a single bloodweb item. Maybe a slowly increasing amount so that the more you have to sit and not play, the more your removal from the match will be balanced out. I don't know, there are probably a dozen different ways that the misery of being the person who gets camped could be mitigated without directly interfering with the match itself. I know that the argument is "why should you be rewarded for getting caught" and I understand that, there's logic to that point. But this is a game that rewards the player for almost everything that happens in a match, and the goal would be to lessen frustration for the person who's being denied the enjoyment of their game without preventing the opposing side from enjoying theirs. I refuse to believe that there can't be a middle ground, it just seems that the company isn't interested in looking for one.
I don't know why BHVR doesn't at the very least implement something like awarding the camped survivor bloodpoints for hanging in there.
Camping (at 4-5 gens) devastates Solo queue play. The "hurrrrr do genz and leave!" is only feasible for SWF's who can communicate and coordinate. For Solos, there is absolutely no incentive to entertain a facecamper for a hot minute. You don't know the other survivors. They aren't your friends. If they had the opportunity to earn a decent (but not overwhelming) amount of blood points for sticking it out, Solos would have the time to do more generators.
Even still, there is no way for a Solo survivor to even know the first down is being camped until it's too late (thinking if the camper is one of the usual offenders like Wraith, Ghostface, Insidious Bubba etc). Because once again, no communication. SWF? "Guys, I'm being camped, crank out gens". Voila.
So since the SBMM dropped, I've experienced camping/hardcore tunneling Killers in probably 90% of my matches as a Solo. Most of these matches are just a wash because survivors just disconnect, or hook suicide one after the other. It gets to the point where I'm shocked if a Killer plays normally. That's what I mean when I say it devastates Solo queue. My matches end up with 2 disconnects at 4-5 gens and then.. why bother even trying? Why queue up again?
I agree with an earlier comment in this thread though. A LOT of the facecamper issues in this game comes down to a severe attitude problem. It's just certain types of individuals playing Killers making a conscious decision to grief and ruin the game for others. They simply get off on making people miserable. They don't care about pips, they don't care about bloodpoints, or anything else. I say this because even in those matches where 2 survivors Opt-out (disconnect of hook suicide), the Killer STILL camps the second last survivor when the two remaining have absolutely no bloody hope to do much of anything.
It makes me wonder if BHVR just wants to phase Solo queue out at higher ranks.
INB4 the whining: I have lots of opinions on jerk survivors, but that's not what this thread is about.
