not this one, though i think the 4 gen run (with a 5th one going while i was hooked) had something to do with it.
not sure him slugging me for 30 seconds nodding was needed though
Very similar scenario happened to me today. Same map. Bubba. 4 gens done because he spent so long chasing me. Then he facecamped and hit me repeatedly on the hook which was not necessary lol. It doesn't make me die faster afterall.

Idk if it will make you feel better, but Hawkin's lab is being permanently removed in November.
..and that Killer is a d-bag.

Thats one situation and its not how most people use it. I can go list every survivor item and give you a example of being toxic with it does that make that item toxic no it doesn't
In my experience, whenever I see a mori offering, I know there's a 90% chance the Killer will just camp and tunnel so they can use their flashy mori.
In that way, the Mori itself isn't bad. In fact, it's kind of fun. But unfortunately a lot of Killers will do anything to use them so the match kind of becomes all about this one thing.

No, is a design problem, people with tons of hours played are complaining about you cannot do nothing against that type of perks in the endgame, thos perks in multiple survivor are simply a free win for them.
It's not a design problem. It would be ridiculous to disable exhaustion perks and second chance/anti-tunneling perks during endgame collapse. The game is designed like a boiling process. From the beginning, the more gens get done, the more survivors get hooked or eliminated, the harder it gets (for survivors). I play Solo queue, and it's exceedingly rare to see a 4 man escape. Many times there are two of us left, and the chance of escape in that scenario for both are incredibly slim (unless a Killer is camping the 3rd last survivor). What you suggest would turn the survivors into sitting ducks and render escape hopeless unless you happened to have a strong team with 4 people up.
With second chance perks like Unbreakabill, you can go 5 games with never using it and it's a wasted perk slot. So you would have survivors running a perk all game, only to have it disabled when it really could make a difference for them.
Hope of escape is the only thing that survivors play the game for. It's the entire point. If you eliminate all their chances to get away just as they complete their objectives, there's no point in trying imo.
At the same time, I'm in agreement with others that I'd gladly exchange DS being disabled opening the gate, so it would not be disabled when healing oneself.
-
When a match starts, 2 survivors should just load in already hooked. Otherwise, not fair.
-
Almost every Myers I've faced lately is running the Tombstone instakill. It's annoying to load into a match and get next to no BP's. I can't assume every one of these people are going for an achievement. No way to know that

That is a Sad truth i encounter often. If you Win and give Hatch they just leave and often enought dont even say thank you. ANd if they destroy you they're way to often making fun of you. Maybe Survivors should start being more Nice aswell. Its not about escaping at all cost, its about having fun.
Am I the only one that purposely sends a message to the Killer (if possible) to thank them for giving me the hatch or the gate? I chit chat with them to sometimes. I thought that would be common.
-
Some people are just d-bags. I've had a few games where the Killer opts to work with 2 survivors against me and usually one other innocent soul.
-
So you catch one survivor early on, then you camp them and go for them as son as they're off the hook. Is that accurate?
-
I feel so jealous of everyone. I've just had team mates unhooking me directly in the Killer's face w/o BT. ;_;

The Hag was using the Rusty Shackles add-on, which causes your traps to be triggered silently and your teleports to be silent. The Legion was using the Iridescent Button add-on, which makes his terror radius map-wide and at the same level for as long as he's in Frenzy.
The visual icon bugs are acknowledged bugs. The lack of ranks is due to an MMR test.
But yeah, the game gets more and more buggy every update. It's gotten to the point where I worry if the next update will even keep the game playable - just look at Resident Evil, or Binding of Kin.
Again-
And I really appreciate your reply, so it's not that I'm arguing it.
The Hag had NO terror radius EVER.
EVER. I mean i don't play Hag, so do those Add-ons make her ninja Hag? Does it entirely eliminate her terror radius for the entire match?
She could be right beside me, and no heartbeat.
The Legion had NO chase music. No music at all. Nothing. And I know Legions funky Add-ons, it was like a muted heartbeat- barely audible. Never changing. Even on the hook. Not that one where it sounds like he's up your bunghole no matter where you are on the map.
I just had a match with Spirit. her phasing made no noise. I know Spirit, I play her. No Add-on makes her completely silent. You can always hear her phasing.
But MMR test. That answers my other questions, so thanks!

@Soulpaw said:
sounds like a rusted shackle/grandma's heart addon combo. prevents survivors from knowing when a trap is triggered and reduces the hags terror radius to 0 when a trap is triggered.
Or its a hack/bug.
That's a thought. But does that combo prevent her from having a terror radius even if she's right on top of you? And does it stop chase music?
-
Also to note- when I load into a match, all my perks registered as Adrenaline. Every single one. After 10 seconds they reverted back to normal.
In one match, I hopped thru a window using Lithe, my screen froze as usual (because console players aren't worth BHVR's time), and then I had infinite sprint burst the whole match.
I message the Killer to apologize.

Have they turned the bans back on? I had to quit the game a couple of days ago due to being stuck in an infinite loading screen. I didn't have a ban when I loaded the game straight back up again.
I don't think you would get a D/C penalty even if you had manually disconnected during the loading screen. It has to be when you're in the match.
I'm having issues with the RPD map. It's happened to me twice where the Killer disconnects as soon as we load in, and my screen freezes. There's no getting out of it but to close the application. There goes 2 pips and an ever stacking penalty.
-
It's funny, I guess everyone who talks about keys here, largely refer to SWFs. In Solo Q, if someone brings the key, 90% chance they will screw over other survivors to save themselves and make it easy for a killer to pick us off lol. I had a match where the Exit Gates were powered, and the key holder was in a 2 man and just left us flat (Killer had slugged one, the 2-man SWF left through the hatch, I was the only one left up and Killer was high mobility). We died of course. No one left to help.

Who's a little edgelord? YOU are! Oh, yes you are!
-
I play Solo on PS4, usually main Bill. I'm the type that will stay to the bitter end, and attempt to leave no team mate behind. End Game collapse with 60 seconds left? I gotcha. I'll try.
I'm also used to saving people all game, healing everyone when possible, cleansing the Devour Totems/NOED in dire situations, Only to die on my first hook while I watch all my healthy team mates leave me through the Exit gate.
It's unrelated to console/PC, it's a selfishness issue that permeates the playerbase.
I can't wait until September when the kiddies are back in school lol.

Did you just blame the Killer for someone DCing? Because it's up to the person who pulled the plug to do that.
This bullshit of pinning the blame on the Killer to 'play fair' because Survivors are entitled is getting old. It's not the Killer's fault if someone DCs. It's not the Survivor's fault if the Killer DCs. (Exceptions being using exploits or cheats on either side to grief, of course)
Not everyone camping is doing it to be mean, but people on this forum always assume it's the opponent's fault when their feelings get hurt. Then they place the blame for any REAL toxic actions (like DCing) on their opponent for IMAGINED slights (camping, tunneling, slugging, flashlight clicking, twerking).
Camping is allowed. Tunneling is allowed. The Killer's goal is to kill you. If Survivors can bang out gens in under 6 minutes, why can't the Killer camp kills to slow everyone down?
Oh, right; because 'my fun' and 'It's toxic' and the made-up Survivor rules. š
I largely refuse to acknowledge you, because you're aggression and absolute venom towards anyone who dares say anything about the game that doesn't = KILLERS PERFECT. SURVIVOR BAD, is off the charts unhealthy.
If you saw my posting, you would see I have LOADS to say about survivors, SWF's, and the frustrations of playing Killer but you're so entrenched in your animousity that you're incapable of having a bloody discussion and stating your opinion without a brimming ego and an air of superiority.
My point was there is a cause and effect thing going on. I'm no fan of disconnecting, but I have no control over others. I do NOT know these people who are disconnecting. Solo survivors, contrary to what you believe, are NOT a Hive Mind. I was simply saying, for those of us who do NOT disconnect and try to play anyways throughout whatever may come, there is a CAUSE and EFFECT dynamic occurring that disrupts normal game play.
If you do not believe there are Killers out there, with names like "BringMeYourSalt" or "Facecamper" that do this stuff intentionally, you have either never played Solo survivor, or you're simply in denial ecause anything outside of your world view is just impossibly wrong.
Anyways, I refuse to ever reply to you again unless you can learn to Forum like a grown up. It's seriously ridiculous. Different opinions are not an attack on your character. Shriek into an abyss.
JFC these forums are something else.

One thing no one ever brings up about camping and tunneling from early game is the damaging effect it has on Solo Q, which I'm beginning to gather is literally the last thing on the developers minds.
I only have one friend that I got into playing this game, so I usually play Solo, and the issue is that these days, especially in higher ranks, any Solo Q survivor that gets camped from first down, or purposely tunneled simply disconnects or hook suicides. The disconnect penalty doesn't serve as much of a deterrent, as most people would rather take it then entertain toxicity for a hot minute. They'd rather just do something else.
So in my games, the moment the first person gets camped, boom D/C. Then it's 3 vs 1. Killers who hard-camp and tunnel from the beginning of the game know very well it's a game ruining playstyle, and are doing it on purpose, because then you get the NEXT down and they'll camp that person too. Then THAt person hook suicides, if it's tunneling off the hook, D/C's. Which means people like me are basically screwed, will automatically depip, will earn no BPs for our time, and it's basically a wasted 20 mins. If you get this 2-3 times in a row, you can wasted an hour of your time being basically powerless, not really playing, all because the ego and poor sportsmanship of some basement dwelling teenager from Nebraska is more important than BHVR thinking about new ways to discourage it.
I tried to get my partner into this game, and this is what a typical match looks like when the Killer camps from the get-go in Solo Q
So my partner depips, stood no chance to play normally. The Killer somehow gains 15k bloodpoints.
From a business perspective, I have no idea how this is deemed acceptable game play for a large portion of the playerbase who are customers. I can't help but ascertain these particular Killers are doing this to purposely grief the game for others. They know why people are disconnecting. Yet continuously do it anyways. I don't think this promotes game health at ALL.

I think people have said this for years, that camping and tunneling is getting worse every day. It's simply not true because if it was then all games would be camping and tunneling now. I don't know why people continue to say this it's just as rare as 2 years ago. If I play 10 games today I would be surprised if any killer camps that is not what I see when playing.
I disagree. I see campers/tunnelers constantly. And no, I don't have very loose definition of it. I've taken note that the frequency increases at certain times of the evening. So if I'm off work and play a few matches during the day? Maybe only once every 4 matches. After 8pm? I'm almost surprised when I have a normal match. If the Killer is Wraith, Bubba, Ghostface or Myers - it's almost guaranteed camping. Tunneling is downright common.
Maybe you're just lucky or I'm unlucky.
-
One thing that really confuses me about it is the hatch situation. The hatch is almost impossible to find because it can spawn on any floor. I found it once with a map in a third floor broom closet or something.
Every other map the hatch can only appear on the first floor to make it less painful for everyone. Why the change for RPD?
-
Nah, the Legion was just a toxic d-bag. You find them all over in the game.
-
I think the map looks gorgeous, but I hate playing on it. It's a maze filled with dead ends, but the worst thing is how the survivors in Solo queue just hook suicide or d/c on it.
-
Facecamping, or camping and tunneling at 4-5 gens is a "valid" tactic only in the way that it's technically not against the rules. It's a really poor way to to play though, shows a lack of sportsmanship, and makes the game nothing but a tedious exercise in frustration. It's been really bad in all ranks, though it gets a wee bit better in red ranks because by then, most people have dealt with so many campers that they have experience extracting a team mate from the hook regardless and the camping doesn't pay off as much.
. The thing a lot of people won't tell you is that by the time a Killer gets to purple ranks, if he's hard-camping at 4-5 gens? A lot of these guys are doing it on purpose. They know it's considered a crap tactic but they simply don't care about anyone else. The result in my experience is usually a pile of disconnects and first hook suicides. I honestly don't know what these type of Killers get out of a match like that, because the points aren't that great. I mean if 2 people disconnect on first hook, next guy suicides, last guy gets the hatch (maybe). How is that entertaining in anyway? In the end I feel a lot of them are doing it to grief the game b/c they're immature.
Unfortunately if you're playing Solo Q, there's not too much you can do as you're at the mercy of your team and their skills/perks. As others have stated above, there are a few perks many survivors find necessary to run at all times; Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike. A lot of Killers who are fixated on tunneling will chase you through Borrowed Time, even after they've eaten DS, but you can equip other perks in the remaining slots that might give you a shot at getting away (as others have suggested; Iron Will and Lucky Break).
There's been a lot of great suggestions about initially avoiding the Killer, such as falling back and laying low as they do their initial patrol. There's a build I had luck with originally to practice getting away; Quick and Quiet, Come Dance With Me, Iron Will, Lithe + Med kit if possible. Whenever your working on a generator, plot your course of action should the Killer appear. Take note of what you have to work with (pallets and such). With Quick and Quiet, the Killer gets no notification when you hop thru a window. Lithe pops and you get a speed burst, and CDWM makes it so you leave no scratch marks. You can basically disappear in a hurry if you play your cards right. Another one that's helpful is Windows of Opportunity.
Godspeed lol.
-
I'm on PS4 and I've teleported 3 times across the map while in a chase. One was on Haddonfeild. I hopped a window, it lag switched big time, and the chase music abruptly stopped. I looked around and realized I was clear at the other end of the street. To the Killer, it must have looked like I vanished.
I still have the game freeze and lag for a few seconds whenever I use Lithe. Whenever I unhooked, or when Killers like Blight or Nemesis make a move (like using the tentacle or dashing).
My game completely froze up yesterday and I had to manually close the application and yeah, Disconnect penalty. It's really annoying.
-
I've thought about this a lot. I'm usually an incredibly mild-mannered person. I have woodland creatures in my backyard who visit daily and will eat from my feeders while I tend the lawn because I give out that vibe. I even work in the medical field.
This game can put me in a bad mood and turn me into a hissing dragon.
I started wondering if that's on purpose. If the game is actually designed to inspire venom in people. Spite; the desire to try again and smite the enemy rather than have some chill fun.
I feel like Unsportsmanlike conduct is REWARDED in DBD. It's the whole idea where we've seen Devs, Mods, and the like proclaim: "Face Camping and hard tunneling are LeGiT StRateGies!!11". And yet, you can see hundreds if not thousands of threads/posts/videos/complaints dating back years about it. A Killer can easily make a ridiculous amount of BPS, and be rewarded for using really unsportsmanlike tactics. There really is no downside most of the time, and it's obvious this is incredibly frustrating to the Solo survivor playerbase, and yet persists. Further insult to injury is added when we're told "yeah but it's your fault!". It's almost like DARVO or something lmao. Yesterday I encountered THREE Insidious camping Bubbas. All red ranks. This means their wilful, conscious griefing of games has been rewarded so much that they've been able to advance while simultaneously ensuring most of their opponents de-pip. And again, we're told "it's part of the game! It's your fault for falling for it!". Same with Myers Tombstone piece. By design (so not the Killer's fault), it is an immediate waste of time for four paying customers. You commit maybe 20 mins of your life to a match (the queue, the waiting etc), and in one foul swoop it's ended, you lose out of rank, points, and it was all beyond your control(at least for the first person who encounters it).
On the flipside, the introduction of SWF's took the skill level needed to feel competent as a Killer to an unbelievable level. SWF's have a ridiculous advantage. I basically stopped playing Killer because I grew tired of trying to learn, being a Rank 13 facing Lobbies of 4 man SWF's that had 2 red rank survivors, one purple and their new friend: The Rank 16 that apparently balanced it out? And again, the unsportsmenlike conduct. The ego, the flashlights, the bullying etc, and they act as if they don't have their advantage. That the Killer is just not good at the game. There's a distinct immaturity to the playerbase. Maybe it's loaded with 15 year old rich kids who have never played a real sport so never had to learn how to conduct oneself properly in victory or defeat. Who knows? But in most sports/athletics/games- hell, even board games people used to be taught to win or lose with grace.
That becomes challenging if the victors (survivors) are gloating, posturing brats.
For Solo Survivor side, selfishness is ultimately rewarded as well. Whether it be a 3 man SWF treating the 4th random player as disposable and unimportant, or whether a survivor takes advantage of a team of randoms who have saved them all game and leave them flat through a Key escape. Who hasn't been that person in Solo queue who has done the MOST all match, saved everyone, and stayed on the last gen until it popped only to have the 3 team mates leave you to die on the first hook as they go out the door? They're rewarded. In that scenario, sure you might pip, but you feel you kind of deserved a shot to escape whether it would have been successful or not. Then there are the characters that work with the Killer to farm you, or DON'T work with the Killer but still farm you. And even when things are technically against the rules, it is difficult to report them. In fact, the Reporting system feels like an exercise in futility.
Maybe this is the aspect of the game people are drawn to though. Maybe the freedom to be a complete jackass with no consequences is attractive.
I'm not sure if trying to fix it would also ruin the baseline concept of the game, a concept that attracted us in the first place. But sometimes I wonder what if they added a button at the end of the match to give someone a point for Sportsmanlike conduct. Just to acknowledge that this Killer/survivor played the game true to form, wasn't a bunghole, and God bless it, if only more people were like this. If there were a small rewards system for people who accumulate that, (and no alternate way to mark people down), maybe it would encourage better behaviour.
-
Hooks sound like afterdeath now lol.
Whenever I pass them it sounds like someone has just been sacrificed
-
I'm not getting double blood points. Is that not on console or something? It's just regular for me.
As for cosmetics, I main Bill, Cheryl and Chris Redfield. No fancy cosmetics for me :(
-
We can't slow down, the clock is ticking and we have to get as many gens done as possible while the first hooked survivor is being camped to death lol.
-
Killer sided if Killer is going against Solo Q up until a certain rank
SWF sided the rest of the time lol.
-
This happened to me a few times since the patch.
In one instance, I did a window hop as I was chased, and was running across Crotus Aslyum map. I almost made it to the shack when suddenly I teleported back to the main building in front of the Killer and he downed me. Shocked the hell out of me. I was wondering if it was a cheat.
Then last night I was playing on Haddonfield, being chased by Pyramid head- really long chase, and I hopped a window into a house at the very end of the street. Suddenly, the chase music just abruptly ended, and I looked around, no Pyramid head anywhere. No terror radius. I was confused as hell, and I realized I had been teleported to the other side of the street.
I think this is a new bug, because someone else posted a video of something similar happening to them the other day.

I personally can't stand campers. When I play Killer, I almost never camp or tunnel because I know how crappy it feels for a survivor to not have a chance to play the game in the slightest. That being said, the type I'm talking about is the unabashed, in your face, "I AM CAMPING" types. The type you see on Kindred, making a teensy circle around the hooked survivor, or staring them in the face. And camping only works well by exploiting Solo survivors lack of ability to communicate and coordinate.
Although I do understand it in the endgame collapse. Or in a situation where a Killer is being steamrolled by a 4-man SWF flashlight squad. Anything like that. I'm not sure how anything could be done that punishes one without smiting the latter. During the period where they disabled the disconnect penalty, the most d/c's I saw were when survivors were being camped. They just "nope'd" out of the match.
Giving some BPs to the camped survivor would go a long way to prevent them from just suiciding on the hook or disconnecting.
I've encountered one too many Killer who facecamp purposely to just grief a stranger. The most recent one even named himself "WhySoSalty".

I've also been left to second stage because people could not find the basement. They said there was a wall in the way and they had to almost go around the whole map just to get there.
It is also a nightmare against pig with the head traps.
Exactly. There are so many dead ends that weren't thought through maybe. It sucks being directly beside someone on the hook, but separated by a wall, yet there is no way to get to them in any reasonable amount of time because you have to run down the hall, down fire escapes etc.
Pig would be a nightmare on that map.
-
I've only been on it successfully (without the game crashing) 3 times. It looks amazing. I really like the music, and the ambience etc. But holy crap is it ever a maze. I even had a map, and there can be a generator directly above me, and it takes 3 minutes to find out how to get it.
I'm a bit confused that it has so many dead end rooms with nothing in them (not even a locker). I've also been left to go to struggle on the hook because people can't figure out how to get to me LOL.
The most surprising thing the other day, the hatch spawned on the top floor. In every other indoor map, it only spawns on the bottom floor, right? At the most the stairs platform on Midwich. If the hatch can spawn literally anywhere on the RCPD map, in any nook and cranny, that might be some sort of Hellscape for the last survivor lol.

Did you get the Killer to drop the survivor? I've got the blinds, because I've even spoken to a Killer after the match to ask (I know I got it because I was doing the Rift and it counted towards blinding the Killer). The Killer (Myers in the this case) said he was indeed blinded and couldn't believe he didn't drop the Meg.
Are you on console? Is this another console curse? lmao

This video is classic tunneling.
Start is at 1:17. This Trickster tunnels the Bill ridiculously. The Meg is doing everything in her power to get him to switch to her as a target, yet the Killer tries to hit Bill around the Meg and doesn't pay attention to anyone or anything else in the game until Bill is dead.

I'm pretty sure the disconnect penalty is back now. Like, enabled maybe an hour ago.
I know because I play console, loaded into RCPD and lagged to a point I disconnected because I froze hopping a window. I had to disconnect. I had a 3min penalty.
-
Tunneling to me is when the Killer waits for the unhook nearby, does not go for the unhooker at all, and just tunnels down one survivor over and over until he's out of the game.
There have been times when I have thrown myself in front of the Killer, trying to take hits to get him off a freshly unhooked team mate. I'm not doing it as a strategy, I'm doing it because I feel bad for the player not getting a chance to do a damn thing. It sucks to leave a match, depip, never touch a generator etc because the Killer wants EZ 4k. Unfortunately, it seems every other Killer is doing this now (or maybe always was like this) and that's why we all must run the same perks: BT, DS, etc
-
I actually can't stand Trickster. I just cringe when I load into a match and hear that treble of his music because I know there's a high chance it's going to be a 14 year old playing him (I know there are a adults who play him, but I seem to get all the kiddies who like him b/c zomg KPoP). All I've ever seen is Trickster camping and tunneling. He'll just sit there, staring at the hooked person, waiting for the unhooker, and there is a 85% chance that he'll hook you and just repeatedly throw knives at you while you hang there. Reload, do it again.
Honestly without the d/c penalty in place right now, sometimes I contemplate disconnecting when I see Killer is Trickster b/c I know it will just be a exercise in enduring a thrown match to get to a real one.
-
I'm on PS4 and the screen freezes during skill checks are a bit better, but overall, nothing has changed. Still lag when anyone is hooked, or before window vaults, AFTER window vaults using Lithe, just general frame drops and lag switching.
Sigh.

i legit did nothing i played normally, and i didnt even get a single pallet slam
You didn't do anything "to deserve it" no matter what some edgelord larping as their Killer says. Anyone who has played survivor has had it happen to them a few times where you're just playing the game normally, not being toxic, and some juvenile, basement dwelling troglodyte with no life decides to get his kicks out of making someone else miserable.
It's not reportable, but it's incredibly pathetic behaviour.

Definitely not reportable. I'd guess you did something silly that merited it tho. Did you teabag or bring a key?
He must have done something to deserve being treated like crap by an apparent child? Are you serious?

Ah yes. The update is nigh.
Time to uninstall the whole game from my PS4, and wait 3 hours for it to reinstall. Just like I have to do every patch. Because for some reason we can't just d/l the new shite, we have to download the entire game every time :(
