A single health update wouldn’t accomplish anything in the long run. They need to improve their QA strategy’s and focus on bug fixing.
edit: also the Community needs to stop bashing the devs for everything.
they are working on UI changes, also based on PTB feedback. They didn’t ignore that.
But speaking of the UI, why change something that clearly isn't broken?
-
You can only do so much before you get burned out with the game. Survivor has been the same stale gameplay since release, and killer is the more fun role to play but has its issues as well. I've been having my fun with the event and new Clown, but I'm getting burned out again.. So probably gonna take a break after this event is over, and most likely won't be back until the new chapter comes out.

I still don't understand after four years how Wraith still moves at the speed of Silver the Hedgehog while cloaked

Also started the whole deathslinger is boring debacle.
I like Jund, he's a really smart fellow but he needs to realise his fan base isn't.
Everytime he states an opinion they take it as fact. Even if he clearly states it to be a opinion
Same with Tru3ta1ent and his fan base, they act like everything he says is fact.
-
They should just add it, so where I don't need to have my messages set to freinds only because whiners can't deal with me beating them in a video game.
-
I don't enjoy playing the Twins because they are just so bad, and the only way to make them work is by slugging and camping everyone.
Also don't like to go against the Twins for the exact same reasons I just listed, the only enjoyment I get of going against them is karate kicking Victor in the face.
-
Favorite would probably be Red Forest, I just really like the tint it has. Hopefully they leave it how it is once they do the graphical overhaul for Mother's Dwelling and Temple of Purgation, least favorite will always be SurvivorField oh I'm sorry I meant HaddonField.

Have you seen Avatar the last airbender?
Basically pc is the fire nation to most people who aren't pc players.
Pc players often view console gamers as less skilled and sometimes (unfortunately) less intelligent because of buying console over pc.
I just play to have fun myself and don't care what people use as long as they don't bash me for console or shove in my face pc is better
So your saying that we console players are the Air Benders then?

I just disabled my messages. And I can't even watch anything dbd related because everyone is toxic. Whenever I try I just get annoyed how disrespectful people are to others. It is insanse.
I don't watch a whole lot of DBD streamers, because I don't have time to watch every single thing from every DBD content creator. The only people I watch for DBD content these days are Otz, Bronx, and Umbra. Console DBD streamers are way more toxic than PC streamers imo.
-
There's certain people out there who don't realize that the person your playing against probably has been through some stuff, making it even worse on them is wrong. Devs are finally making a chat filter for DBD where toxicity will be blocked out, it's a nice good step for dealing with toxicity but people on console still have to worry about sad acts filling their dm's up with gg ez comments.
-
It's been almost five years since DBD has been out, and your poster boy of the game still only has one trap at base to start.
Meanwhile Devs: LET'S NERF PIG!
-
Because PC players are constantly wanting to fuel the fire of saying console people are bad, even though PC people are just as bad as well. It's not even a joke that people try to make it out to be, it's literally just bashing the other side because you think your a god complex and the almighty superior. One of the reasons why I can't stand PC steamers on DBD, not all of them act that way but my god there's some who take comment way to far.

Calling someone a 'baby' isn't meant as an insult in this context. "Aww, it's a Baby Dwight." As in, "Aww, an adorable newbie who hides in lockers and has no idea what they're doing."
I can understand it in that context, but there's just certain people out there who go to far with the baby comments.

I'll only ever use the antidote for map traversal when I pretty much know I have the game won

The game is getting somewhat better, but is still far from perfect. And it's mainly to put on the devs, because their roadmap isn't working with their schedule of wanting a new chapter every three months. They don't put enough time into fixing core issues with the game, and PTB is literally used to show how many bugs to expect in the next chapter. Binding of Kin was one of the absolute worst chapters to have ever been released, and if I recall correctly there was over 100 bugs found by the community in that chapter. And we the community will make sure the devs never forget that either, because personally I think people's jobs at BHVR need to be looked at.
-
The #1 rule in all video games is to have fun, but I will always despise people who get enjoyment of wanting to ruin someone's day. Because that's their "fun" apparently..

I agree to 1000%
The gap between PC and console blight is waaaay to big now.
It feels like you have to use turnrate addons just to get the addonless PC blight performance.
Also also we can't do the 180 flick that pc players can do with blight.
Console blight NEEDS adjustments.
Maybe if we're lucky we can get it with the FOV change, fingers crossed.

Normally I would that's normal in a online competitive game but this community takes it too far
Because toxic streamers are the cause of all this basically
-
As soon as I see a lobby full of flashlights, no matter what killer I'm playing I switch out whatever perk for LightBorn.

Color blind feature is coming into the game
And it's something that's been heavily requested ever since the game first came out, and BHVR for some reason decided to never tell anyone they were working on this. Because this is one of their biggest issues, the lack of communication.

There's only so many times something can be fun before it starts getting repetitive and boring and the community dosent help either bb killer ez gut good despite me almost having 4.2k hours now
And about 1.1k of that is surivor some games last 5 min and I get 3 hooks because all the survivors wanted to do was gens and not heal because of adrenaline but if I were to run noed
Clutch perk no skill trash
This community if ffd up and I'm just not having fun anymore it's starting to get bland and obnoxious
Something has to change either the community to make it enjoyable post game. a game mode just something
because despite this game being almost 6 years old it's still unique I will say the balance of the game has gotten a lot better but it's still infuriating when 5 gens get done in 5 min because people dont want to heal or do anything that's not a gen because a perk can do it for them
The community really needs to push more for positivity, but sadly a lot of people still enjoy being toxic to other people on a video game and enjoy making them feel miserable. I had two killer games in a row today where I got hit with the ez, teabagging, and constant flashlight clicking. It just feels like it's sometimes hard to find people who actually have good sportsmanship on this game

How do you think colorblind people feel?

but a lot of his fans said that freddy is balanced as spirit is balanced while mainly killer and survivor know that they're unfun to play and braindead. if you open the thread the least killer they want to nerf would be that two.
Playing against other killer feels more rewarding and fair.
I used to be an avid watcher of him, and would actually defend everything he says. But ever since I finally saw what kind of person he is, I realized just how egotistical and how hypocritical he is. And if you ever disagreed with anything he says, him and his fans will belittle the hell out of you and start throwing the "survivor main" insults towards your face. He aims for no toxicity, but him and his fan base act toxic.

Can I be honest? I think the devs were so prompt to respond to the backlash because of the negative publicity this update is getting not on streams but in Steam reviews. Look at the spike in negative reviews when this patch came out. Went from something like "very good" to "mixed". That is affecting the image of the game very notably, more so than a streamer who already was inconsistent in streaming DBD before this update saying he won't be streaming until things are fixed.
There are still tonnes of core DBD streamers who stream the game regularly, like tru3, tofu, bronx, otz, and so on. Streamers not streaming DBD is not an issue. DBD is still one of the most popular categories to stream on Twitch.
But people like Otz and Tru3 who have the largest following on DBD, and are also Fog Whispers. If they were to actually take a break from the game, it could spark an uproar within the community and at BHVR. Those two have gone above and beyond with the success of DBD, and those two have always discussed things that could be better and improved on. Which is why you see people always recommending them to newer players.

@Moundshroud said:
I don't think popular Streamers taking a break for DbD are going to cause others to do so too. I think it is odd to suggest that people would not make their own choices. However, I do think it is telling that people who make their living streaming video games are deciding that DbD is not currently up to their standards. That is not a good sign. Will it kill DbD? No, of course not. Games don't just die, i.e. turn off like a light. They fade away like film franchises, slowing going from classic cinema in the first movies to embarrassing schlock by the last few sequels. Dead by Daylight is going to be around for a long time, but that doesn't tell us anything about the quality or how many of us will still be showing up to play it.
People who get PAID to stream playing video games are EXCELLENT canaries in the coal mine. It means they are making a professional choice which impacts their wallet. That has weight. BEhavior should take it seriously.
And it's disappointing that everyone who has expressed their unhappiness with the game, just wants it to be in a healthy state where everyone can have fun playing.
-
@PureHostility said:
The game is alive a because there is no worth while competition, that's why it hasn't died yet.
The sole reason.
That's why so many people have the love&hate relationship with it.
They love the concept and overall core game loop but hates the direction it takes, how long changes are implemented and general devs egocentric / ignorant standpoint on anything regarding blatant game issues.
Best example was last PTB, which should be renamed to Public Teaser Build instead, as from the looks of it, our feedback is ignored unless it affects the general game's image market wise (I.e.steam review bombing).
I bet devs are awesome people, but they have weird way of interacting with community... Very weird actually.
Basically how we all feel. The game has a lot more potential to be better, but gets held back by ignorant decisions by BHVR.

whats with the worship-mentality to streamers within the dbd playerbase? they're regular people that play video games like you , i get watching them for entertainment but other than that...yikes.
btw, generally , streamers stream as a business . a lot of streamers actually want to break away from dbd but their view count and cashflow gets hurt. they're trapped because this game has a monopoly with its niche appeal alone.
I wouldn't say it's a worship mentality, it's only that when people use streamers opinions and treat them as if they're fact. And yes streamers can't branch away from a specific game, because it's hard to get their fans of wanting to watch other stuff. At that point the viewers basically care more for the game, not the streamer themself.

@Clevite said:
Don't forget these guys are probably burnt out anyway with how much time they have in game.
I am still dealing with it. Some hits suck ass but it is still the only game I play.
As far as a downfall. Streamers have to always be trying to find the next game. And try to get their audience's interest. It is their job and all games eventually die.
Well if we look at the ancient World of Warcraft, that game for as old as it is still going strong.

@Boss said:
Maybe, maybe not.
Everytime the death of DbD is predicted, something new has happened for people to think it'll die.
It hasn't died yet.
On another note: "until everything is fixed."
Lol, i guess he completely quits then.
The game will only die once BHVR decides to pull the plug on the game, and stop making content for it. But with the game we have now, it won't be in a good state if actual competition arises.
-
@MrsPuddles well that's good for you, but recently I've seen Monto hasn't enjoyed it. And Umbra everyone's favorite Huntress main hasn't even played the new update, because even she doesn't like how everything looks. I'm just saying if the well known DBD streamers are taking a break from the game with how bad the update is, then you know BHVR didn't do a pretty good job so far.

@Botiz said:
I don't know if his view has changed by now, but I remember Tru3 saying (I think in the past 12 months) that Freddy should be able to teleport to a generator at the start of the match... always disagreed with him on that, it's like resetting your start position every trial and choosing where you start pretty much.
I'd say Freddy has more skill than say, Myers for example. With Freddy you kinda have to figure out good spots to place snares at loops, with Myers you just stare at a survivor then get your ability and one-hit down with M1... Myers has to have the most plain and boring power in the game.
Not gonna lie that would be very oppressive to have at the start of the match, and personally Tru3 thinks the only reason Freddy is getting nerfed is because you're not allowed to have strong killers even though he ignores all the stuff that Freddy has built into his kit. And this is coming from the guy who thinks that his counterplay to Spirit is to like playing a fighting game... Like what!?
-
At least with old Freddy you actually had to use your brain of knowing how to play him properly, current Freddy is so braindead easy to play. Freddy is basically the jack of all trades of a killer who you can 4K with constantly, because he has everything given to him by default. Can teloport to gens, can bait it whenever he feels like it, doesn't need to put survivors to sleep it's automatically done for him, has slowdown add ons which I don't think he needs honestly because he's strong as is, can place snares without penalty, and can spam as much as he pleases. There's nothing remotely unique about Freddy anymore, he's just nothing but a boring version of Clown but has way to much in his kit and zero drawbacks.
-
I'm still waiting for shirtless Kate, and maybe if there is a glimmer of hope shirtless Zarina.
