The point is, if you don't complain about certain mechanics, the devs think everything is fine. But these devs, know for months that things aren'T fine and do nothing against it (or it takes them months). Then they change things, that nobody wanted and were totally fine. I don't know what they are thinking. I really want to know their thougth process.

If only we could read their minds of sort, they probably are currently thinking about giving Freddy an overheat mechanic.

That’s a stretch but doctor does have better tracking

Doctor still is better than Clown thanks to Static Blast information, and it's so good to use with Whispers. But with the amount of time I've played on Doctor and Clown, I just think Clown's chase ability is better than Doctor's personally. I can't tell you how many times I've been screwed over by latency with Doctor's Shock Therapy, when I 100% know I timed the shock right. I recently started using Bamboozle on Doctor thanks to getting screwed with the window vaults

  • @SunderMun said:

@ClownIsUnderrated Yeah I never bought the idea that the Clown was the worst killer in the game when Wraith and Legion exist, tbh.

And Wraith and Legion don't have any ability to help them in chase, which is why it doesn't hurt to throw Bamboozle on them to help around loops. I remember the buff they gave to Clown during the Silent Hill chapter last year in which he no longer slows down after throwing a bottle. People realized the massive difference it had on Clown, but still considered him the weakest of the bunch by all means. At that point he was no longer F tier, he actually managed to make it to C tier with that buff. I wanna actually do a tier list of my own at some point, probably gonna wait because we're gonna be getting a PTB for the new killer sometime this month but probably gonna start doing it anyway.

Yeah people just need to get used to using both his bottles at once and not using them separately.

His antidote bottles are NOT used to traverse the map, just like tonic they are used to close the distance on survivors. using them both makes you 1.6 m/s faster than survivors that is a huge difference in speed it's a bigger speed difference than when legion uses his power.

Plus the new Clown hasn't even been out for a week yet, I've seen many times when people are to early to judge killers and label them as bad. DeathSlinger was considered terrible when he came out, because a lot of people were trying to play him as if he were Huntress. Tru3ta1ent was one of them who was doing that, and it finally took him a good six months after release to realize how to actually play DeathSlinger. Blight was considered bad by everyone because a lot of people didn't like the idea of a pinball killer, but once people learned the power more then people realized just how strong he can be. And he'll be even stronger with the new POV he'll have (which might make it to where I don't need ShadowBorn on him anymore), and hopefully address his collision issues. I'd say give it a few months, and we might see posts of Clown being OP and people have finally seen the potential of Clown's antidote.

  • I managed to get this challenge done yesterday, and once I first collected one as killer I thought I was tearing into another dimension. Makes me disappointed that they could have done something more with these, instead of slapping it onto a tome challenge and saying done. If we actually had a Lunar New Year Event, collecting Red Glyphs could have helped us for earning certain cosmetics.

  • 360's don't even work, I play on console and they use to work pretty much all the time thanks to terrible sensitivity. But since they finally gave console people increased sensitivity last year, I can pretty much read when a survivor is gonna do a 360 very easily compared to before. I do know of a certain streamer who likes to 360 all the time because he thinks he's a god, but he's just going against very inexperienced killers.

  • Cigar Box: If a survivor is downed at a pallet you could just throw an antidote bottle, and if survivors are hanging around you can use your speed to chase them away.

VHS Porn: If you don't like the add on then that's fine, you don't really need it. But for me this add on is so much fun to use, I even went against a Clown who was using this and he even confused me with the antidote being thrown at me.

Redhead's Pinky Finger: They could have done something different with this add on, I propose the idea of making Clown undetectable once he enters his gas clouds for a certain amount of time. The only reason to use this add on is with the Fingerless Parade Gloves, which changes your arc to make it easier to hit survivors with the bottle.

  • The Twins for me honestly are the worst killer in the game. The idea of being able to control two different killers at the same time sounded great, but the execution with the Twins is just so bad... Victor's basically the killer between him and Charlotte, meanwhile Charlotte is taking a nap most of the times while Victor is getting karate kicked by the survivors. The only way to make them decent is by slugging and camping, having this be a killer's power just shows that no dedication was put into making the Twins.

  • @Zeon_99 said:

Losing the exhaustion bottles was a huge blow to us. The speed difference with the bottles doesn't mean much when the survivor can press E to Crutch Hard to the pallet and make our power useless. The only real upside we got this update was the mangled bottles being permanent until healed, but Id still rather have the exhaustion bottles.

You don't need exhaustion add ons to make a killer good, Clown is good without it and he still has Flask of Bleach which is really good for a green add on. Huntress has exhaustion add ons as well, and doesn't need them to be good.

I trash Last of Us 2 for the fun of it

They would rather play, and then trash on other people because they didn't enjoy it.

I had a match yesterday where they complained about how hitboxes carried me....I was trapper....I had only one single hit on someone not in a trap. They were hugging shack wall and it turned into a quick basement 4k with the usual traps.

But sure, call me names and be vulgar at me, when you chose to play anyways....

    People just can't take L's

  • They could have at least disabled the game map, for making it the new pallet town map.

  • I know there's a lot of people who are not so happy with the Clown rework, because a lot of people don't think anything changed. But the antidote bottles on Clown are very good once you learn the timing of how to use them, a lot of people are underestimating how powerful the antidote can be. I don't understand how people think Clown is still the worst killer in the game when his chase game is stronger than killers such as Legion, Wraith, GhostFace, Trapper, Myers, Pig, Plague, and the Twins. A lot of people underestimate Clown like usual, I'd probably go as far to say his chase is better than Doctor's. Doctor gets screwed a bit by latency a lot, and your working more with the Shock Therapy.

Hey man they booted that patch up walked around for a minute disconnected and said we're done time to release it.

And I can just hear the words of someone saying.. "We did it guys more bugs!"

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

They've already confirmed they don't playtest its been hinted for years now that they don't which shocks me as a company that grossed "Behaviour Interactive's estimated annual revenue is currently $118.6M per year." can't afford or just doesn't care enough to hire people outside of their dev team to assure something is working properly i mean if they don't want to spend the money best they could do is make PTB's more serious but nah it'll never happen.

No wonder a bug such as the game breaking hill bug made it into the game last year, had to wait until a new chapter for that to be fixed.

  • @Enlyne said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1939617#Comment_1939617

There's already a plenty of posts asking for a health chapter, like, completely focused on that and not more characters thatt just break the game (lets not even think about another binding of kin 2 or worse) Mid chapters as health stuff just wont cut it, at the rate they do it and the amount of bad bugs it brings everytime, its more like a disease patch to the game, it gets even more broken.

Instead of being so stubborn it'd be great if they listened for once and broke their routine, it would certainly improve something if only they truly focused on that and only that, but hey guys, new rift! Amirite?

    EDIT: Typo.

If they were to work overtime for a good six months of trying to improve all the issues the game is currently plagued with, they could potentially fix a lot of things but since the good old potato coding always causes new game breaking issues we would still have to deal with that. I just wish they would spend more time and resources into fixing the game, instead of adding a completely new UI that nobody asked for.

  • You can still mess with the killers auto aim by wiggling around, and with this update auto aim is even worse.

  • @GannTM said:

I think the devs should just not come out with another killer for at least a while. They need to invest time in fixing the game.

Everyone's tried telling them this so many times, but our words don't reach their ears apparently. From what I heard from the dev stream last week, apparently the mid chapter patches are gonna be focused around game health. Even then it won't matter anyway thanks to the potato coding, every update basically breaks the game in some way shape or form.

  • The point of the PTB is basically to show you the new and exciting bugs to expect in the game

  • Has happened to me quite a lot. I've been running Enduring, and once I get slapped onto to other side with the survivor I turn as fast as I can to get a hit but according to the game I'm hitting basically air. Lovely..

  • Has rose up from C Tier, to a solid B Tier killer. Still wish they would have addressed his map mobility problem

  • I'd say next week is when to expect a teaser, maybe would have gotten it by now but the mid chapter had to be delayed.

  • According to the lovely STATISTICS Plague's kill/pick rate is very low. Back when she first came out there was a lot of Plague's that I went against, but since dedicated servers became a thing it's a very rare occasion you'll find a Plague these days because she just doesn't work to good with the servers. I don't think Plague necessarily needs a rework, but she definitely needs some quality of life improvements.

  • I managed to get lucky and got one on my first bloodweb with Jeff, talk about good RNG.

  • The devs seem so against adding auric cells in the free track, there's a lot of empty spots in the free track doesn't hurt to add something like that. That's what Fortnite does with their battle passes, and have been doing continuously as well. Or you know maybe just add about a few shards if you don't want to do auric cells. Also I remember correctly that once they added the redeem code function last year into the store, auric cells were mentioned to be given with codes. It's been like seven to eight months, and still haven't see auric cell codes. Makes me think they lied about it to no surprise.

  • Hit validation isn't even enough to save these god awful hitboxes, and hit validation doesn't even work at all honestly.

  • Nothing's really changed about Freddy, just doing his usual Stretch Armstrong impression.

  • I guess it might have something to do with a lot of her outfits being sets, so assume that's why people are showing off a lot.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

I mean who plays them anyway XD

they are not time efficient unless you plan to camp and slug they suck.

take a basic chase with them you hit them with your weapon then release victor well first you had to hit them as a m1 killer then you have to hit them with victor, switch back to charlotte, and go all the way to wherever victor downed that survivor and you can now finally hook them. that is extremely not efficient you might as well play like any other killer if your playing that way.

then again even if you are playing scummy a good swf keeping up on healing will destroy you.

Personally I think the Twins are worst killer in the game, even old Legion is better than them. I mean I would rather play Burger King Myers than play the Twins honestly.

  • @Crypticghoul said:

Disclaimer: I haven't played much Clown before the changes but I'd like to think my bottle placement at loops is at least okay.

I have a lot of fun with him in chase but it feels like he really can't down survivors fast enough to win if they just hold W and drop pallets nor can he get around the map quickly enough to pressure gens. Granted, the perks I have unlocked on him aren't great but also aren't bad.

I was excited for Antidote but in practice it feels like it isn't worth the reload time and all it seems to do is give you something to do with your last bottle before you reload or make already unsafe loops unsafer. Feels like it either needs more speed or a longer duration.

I had a match yesterday on Midwich, and the antidote is very helpful for the hallways when survivors are just running forward.

  • They finally brought the jiggle physics back!? Holy turkey on a Sunday morning finally!!

  • I'm surprised this isn't a set by all means

  • @Dustin said:

Primarily thing is I'd give him 5 bottles or increase his movement speed while reloading - That's it.

New bottles have much to be desired and once survivors actually get how Clown is trying to use them you're going to see Clown played around even more than before.

For starters the new bottle makes his power require twice as many bottles to take advantage of both. The reload speed buff was nice and all but it doesn't change how bad his brief downtime is using his power. People don't seem to understand that even if the reload speed is short you're still taking moments just to lose vision on the map to reload your power. This is why I would increase his reload movement speed even if just slightly. Potentially even giving him 5 bottles because I'll be honest you need to play him perfectly for mediocre payoff. In comparison to other killers Clown's kit is still underwhelming.

You may ask why compare Clown to other killers? Shouldn't he be in his own lane like every other killer?

Most killers power can be reset while they're on the move on the map and they don't need to take time to slow down and lose vision on the map because they're unable to patrol at full speed. The few that do need to legitimately stop to refill their power do so because their power outright can end a chase such as Huntress, Deathslinger and even to an extent Trapper. For killers that don't such as Wraith, Ghostface, Legion and Doctor to name a few examples their power recharges as they run around the map. Even if they're in mid chase they can recharge their power with little inconvenience to them and even with that in mind they're not great.

So with that in mind - Is it so much to ask for a slight movement speed buff to Clown while he is reloading? I don't believe it was unreasonable from the start to ask that. Especially since not much changes with Clown aside from some excessively longer loops Clown can now deal with. However even with that in mind Clown will likely depend on Brutal Strength because his Tonic's aren't great. Someone did some math on the PTB and in my view was a justifiable reason enough to give Clown other buffs.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/220888/small-number-adjustment-clown-buff-to-make-him-better

This within reason is one of a few reasons I believe Clown needs something else. I don't feel the numbers need cranked up extensively but a couple of seconds would be ideal. However my view is an increase in capacity by 1 to make his base bottles 5 as well as an increase in movement speed while reloading would be welcome. I still feel like he would be a weak killer who is punished heavily for making mistakes with his power and I feel like is still heavily addon dependent but at least it wouldn't feel so garbage making even a slight mistake in your predictions with the power.

tl;dr - Power isn't good enough to be so punishing for making even tiny misplays - Could use an extra bottle and an increase in movement speed while reloading.

How would you feel if Smelly Inner Soles was basekit? What was once a brown add on, is now a green add on. It fixes the problem that you were mentioning of him slowing down when reloading, plus he keeps a very good close amount of distance towards the survivor he is chasing.

Oh, I know, I just wish they made the new aspects to his power more useful. Every rework so far has felt substantial, while making the killer better. This does make Clown better, but I don't think it's substantial.

The only two reworks I'll never happy about is Freddy and Billy. What we had with old Freddy was such a unique treat, and I would definitely trade the current boring Freddy for the original not so good but fun to play old Freddy. And Billy didn't need a rework at all, a lot of people will still agree on his add ons were the problem not the killer itself.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

    Love the music

Glad they sped up his reload

His new bottle doesn't change a whole lot and wasn't what he needed. The attitude triggers too slow and I hate that survivors also can benefit from it. A second bottle type (especially one like that) doesn't help him enough. The fact that the new bottle has potentially more cons than pros over just doing old bottles alone is a bad sign. I just dont like a killers power to be able to buff survivors. He also needs more bottles overall if that's what they wanna do with him

I just got back into dbd and played clown pretty exclusively after he was first released .

Id much rather give clown a second ability like a trap jack in the box (kinda like pop goes the Weasle perk look) to make chases interesting with trying to guide survivors to certain areas more. If not that, maybe a water flower on his chest that you trigger to shove a survivor forward but does no damage (could make chases more dicey). Could do something balloon trap related as well

There's potential of the antidote being really good, it's only been day three so far and everyone is still trying to learn the basics of it. Not a fan of it speeding up survivors as well, and the antidote delay could be half a second or two.

saw Otz play him and he was having a ton of fun with the insta pallet breaker Wraith.

He is a man of quality. At topic, I can see how the antidote could be useful, but to me, it just feels like the Tonic is always going to be more useful.

Well the option of using the tonic is still there by all means, still feels like you're playing old Clown but with just a decreased reload time.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

He didn't need an antidote. Devs could just make him lose some weight for the extra speed.

Nah I like thicc boi Clown

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I really like the clown rework. I'm happy they didn't just pull a freddy and slapped on some strong mechanic abilities and called it a day.

Trying to figure out where to place which gas is really fun and the payoff is there for the most part.

The rework didn't really make him that much stronger though. It improved his already strong chase game but left his weakness of map presence intact.

For some people that will probably be a bummer but personally i prefer fun B tier killer to strong but boring A tier killers.

If i would change something i would like to see how it would be if when the gasses are placed on top of eachother that they create a chemical explosion instead of just cancelling eachother out

Would probably be too strong but it sounds cool

Yeah it's the same thing with Bubba, buffed in chase but still suffer from no map mobility. Freddy is still better than Clown by all means, and he always trumps him with being able to teleport across the map. But with the Freddy nerf coming sometime soon, depending on how drastic it could be Clown could potentially become stronger than him. Also how we all miss old Freddy... Maybe with the nerf they might be able to bring back the mechanic of him needing to put survivors to sleep, I can only hope though.

  • @Kebek said:

I'd make the antidote bottles separate from the tonic bottles so that clown has 4 bottles of each and switches between them.

It'd make it so you can use both bottles a bit more with less reloading overall. Other than that he's probably fine.

That sounds really good actually, plus I think that would actually help for learning the antidote since you have four bottles to work with for both tonic and antidote.

  • @QwQw said:

I don't really like these Antidotes, they don't fix what made Clown bad in the first place.

I came up with an idea for Clown a little while ago.

Basically Clown would be able to lay down a canister of his Tonic. It would permeate through the area and stay there for a long while. Any survivor that enters the area would be affected like they were standing within a normal Tonic.

I know it's not that good, but I kinda thought of it off the top of my head.

Sounds interesting but with how fast pace the game has become in turns of how quick survivors do gens, it would probably be a very struggling power to use.

  • @Phasmamain said:

All I would do is give him 5 bottles base. I feel like while the new reload is nice he has to reload a lot more often now so having one more bottle would be nice.

They could change his yellow capacity addon to do something else

That's an idea that I always have been thinking about, wouldn't know how everyone else would feel about it.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

I don't actually have clown so I can only make my observations on the few times I've fought him.

    1. The new music kicks ass.
    2. The speed smoke not sure how much it helps me. I tried running through it and didn't feel much. I wasn't able to figure out if it let me improve any loops.
    3. His slow smoke is just as nasty as it's always been.

On the whole I didn't notice any difference from the survivor side. No idea how he plays.

I've been wanting to see how the speed is for survivor, but the Clowns I've gone against have always been intoxicating me..

  • @NomiNomad said:

I think you and @TheClownIsKing are gonna like each other...

As for how I, someone who doesn't main Clown, feel about it...

Eh. I probably still won't play him that much. I can't think of anywhere where the Antidote is going to incredibly useful. It barely gives you any saved time when using to travel. In chases, his Tonic will always be more useful.

Again, I'm not a Clown main. If you had questions about Wraith, I'm your man.

It can be really good once you know to how to use it properly in the chase, of course it's not the best for map traversal. I'm still testing to see how it's gonna work at killer shack, it's just the switching between bottles has been my struggle at that shack because I forgot to switch at the perfect time. Also speaking of Wraith haven't checked out his buff yet, saw Otz play him and he was having a ton of fun with the insta pallet breaker Wraith.
