That's why they buffed the ######### out of Doctor, Leatherface and Freddy.

Doctor and LF are still mediocre against good survivors and Freddy is overrated.

  • He’s really overrated. I feel like people still put him high in tier lists because he always has been, but people are judging him based on 2016/2017 when due to a limited selection then yeah he was one of the better options.

Now he’s really not that good. As others have said Ghostface is just straight up better. Myers has nothing to help at loops either.

  • Heres an example from earlier..

    • See a survivor trying to hide behind a wall on macmillan
    • walk towards survivor
    • Survivor sprint burts away
    • Continue chase with survivor
    • Survivor runs straight forward to a window
    • Put sword in ground and attack as survivor vaults

    ”pYraMidHeaD hAs nO CounTerPlAy”

I’m sorry but what was my counter play to his sprint burst? Survivor wouldnt have even reached the window were it not for a second chance with zero counterplay.

What if I was using Myers? Then what? It was a safe window too so they get to the window, then a safe pallet nearby, then another pallet etc

But of course it’s Pyramidhead that needs changing.

Theres a reason less people are using the m1 loopable killers.

why do you think its called second chance perk? It wouldn't be second chance perk if it did not save your life. They aren't meant to have counter-play. Its not about how many second chance perks survivors have. its about how often you get a chance to mindgame/capitalize on survivor.

So its fine for things on the survivor side to have no counterplay but everything on the killer sider needs plenty?

And you say mindgame/capitalize, yet thats the point all these second chance perks stop you from doing that. Mindgamed the survivor and closed distance allowing the hit? Dead hard to get the distance back. Caught them out of position with a stealth killer? Sprint burst to safety. Then you got all the others on top of that, DS, unbreakable, deliverance, adrenaline etc

Actually, if you are tormented and he puts you in a cage it essentially makes a lot of perks useless. Examples are Kindred, DS, Second Wind, Borrowed Time, Camaraderie, Deliverance if he for some reason decides to cage you on first time), Babysitter, We'll Make It and virtually every other perk that activates from being unhooked or being hooked, from both the guy who is stuck in the cage and the one who uncages you. And a lot red ranks recently are putting you or try to put you in the torment status before first hook, they hook normally but the moment you get off the hook they come right back or just camp to put in the cage virtually cancelling DS or any other hook based perk for virtually no real skill whatsoever. I think his cage needs a bit of a rework OR give the survivors a way to take the torment status off. Maybe something similar like Freddy's dreamworld mechanic.

If you get unhooked while tormented just jump into a nearby locker. Now the roles are reversed and its the survivor who has zero counterplay, just how they like it.

Also lol nobody, NOBODY ever complained about babysitter not activating. Not second wind or camadaderie either. For what its worth pyramid loses BBQ and Pop which are two of the most powerful and common killer perks, along with MYC, Devour, and we can even name the meme perks like Huntress lullaby and blood echoes. It's actually a fair trade.

Exhaust perks are meant to be second chances in a chase. The reason why people use Dead hard is because its most universal exhaust perk with no real requirements beyond being injured. If anything, Balance landing, Lithe, Sprint burst and Head on need some serious buffs because they really suck for second chance chase perks. Head on has 3 second timer to use it and it practically makes Quick&Quiet mandatory, Sprint burst wastes so much time on walking, Lithe has no on/off button and it disables your ability to window loop+you need good angle to make use of the speed and Balance landing always needed levitation and it was never good exhaust perk beyond its stagger passive that created artificial infinities on some maps before the perks total destruction.

If I had to take a guess for why they're thinking of changing pyramid head, its probably because his killrate is highly inflated because his cages completely remove any fear of DS and Borrow time and those perks by sheer existence prologue survivors time in a match and he has no fear of those perks so he can eliminate survivors very quickly out of the match. Speaks volumes for how good those survivor perks are I guess. Maybe they'll make cages work with survivor perks but than what would torment affliction do?

Billy had weakness, if he miss chainsaw or hit a wall, he would suffer a cooldown and he had pretty long charge time on his chainsaw. Its just that there he had thompson mix and carburetor tuning guide to make the cooldown almost zero and charge was significantly reduced. Now a days billy feels like a chore to play, his only reliable charge time reducation add-on turns him into 110% joke killer and he no longer has cooldown reducation add-on. His Iri add-on are pure jokes, like who uses iri brick that for some reason has drawback of requiring 2 seconds of chainsaw to activate and apex muffler is silly. Lopros chain could easily be valuable iri add-on if it did not have drawback of giving you speed limiter after breaking a pallet. Barely see billy get played now a days. If only billy had add-on that did not cripple him to the bone. I miss facing confident billy as survivor.

A second chance perk that has zero counterplay and can activate at the start of the trial delaying the critical first hook for a killer is a little overpowered no? not to mention Dead hard undoes M1 killer mindgames since you get the distance back, and makes any killer that requires aiming less fun to use e.g. Huntress, deathslinger, nurse since their precise aim is nullified at the touch of a button.

  • PyramidHead has no counterplay. PyramidHead counters DS.

It's funny because if you're tormented and come off a hook, you can just jump into a locker and in most cases there will be one near by. No Pyramid doesn't counter DS, and you know what happens when the survivor does that?

    No counterplay to it 😉

But of course it's fine to have zero counterplay because it's on the survivor side. Nerf pyramidhead btw

  • It ruins the fun of looping the low tier killers around coldwind or Ormond maps all game. It also lessens the impact of sprint burst.

What are you? a killer main?

  • I'd say Trapper is the worst killer. Survivors often escape from traps on the 1st attempt making his power worthless, and if you try to trap to deny an area i.e. Badham school or a strong pallet they can dead hard over it and you have to stop to pick the trap up to get past. A killers power than can hinder him more than it can help. Crazy.

  • @Avarice10 said:

Pyramid Head is fair and balanced,

Ignore the fact he has a free mori, doesn't have to hook survivors, and can hit survivors through walls making any window or pallet unsafe.

It's not a free mori. Moris are powerful because they allow the killer to skip 2 hook states. Pyramid Head can not do that.

Sure he can partially avoid DS/BT, two meta survivor perks, but he's also losing the ability to use powerful killer perks then such as BBQ, Pop, MYC, Devour etc etc

He can hit through walls but his power has a very slim hitbox, he turns like a shopping cart and he has a hefty cooldown if he misses.

  • dead hard for distance, sprint burst, adrenaline. Hell even Head On.

Could bring up DS, Unbreakable, Borrowed time but they don't actually bug me as much.

  • @Richter_Cade said:

I don't get the argument that he shouldn't cancel out survivor perks. Some perks and abilities counter others in the game, it just happens, the only basis for the argument would be removing everything that did that.

OOO counters entire killers, like trapper.

    Nurse counters looping mechanics.

Unbreakable counters so many killer perks that encourage slugging, such as knock out.

Spawning next to a totem counters a full perk. It's obscene!

Calm spirit counters infectious fright, and half the Doctor's toolkit to some degree.

Iron will counters headsets and spirit.

Slugging counters DS. Unbreakable counters slugging.

There is counterplay in the game, that's just a small example from both sides. Just get over that argument because unless you remove all of it there is no basis for removing just the parts that you personally don't like.

The difference is those are survivor perks so it's fine for them to have no counterplay. Only the killer powers need counterplay. Are you new to DBD?

  • Hopefully when they redo survivor textures Blendette gets nerfed hard. Hopefully the Coldwind maps are the next to be reworked, Corn is OP.

Good that Clown is finally getting some adjustments but R.I.P to PyramidHead. We hardly knew him.

  • Freddy is overrated. As for pyramid, a nerf makes a killer weaker, not stronger.

Billy had downsides. He has a map-wide indicator that he is using his power and slows down when charging it.

He could traverse the entire map freely, within seconds, and could just swing instadowns all game long. His pressure was insane.

  • @MusicNerd_TC said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1616938#Comment_1616938

Exactly, some survivor perks are problematic, does that make pyramid heads zoning ok?

Considering those perks have been left alone for years with no intention of changing them....yes.

Some people just want this game where you come in as swf, burn Ormond, safe pallet to safe pallet, take a hit, safe pallet to safe pallet, get mindgamed, dead hard to get distance back, safe pallet to safe pallet, all the while your buddies sit on gens.

There's a reason people are moving to killers who can get the job done. Go play a bog standard M1 killer on Ormond against your typical 3000-6000 hour survivors you get on the EU servers, many running OoO or stretched res.

Should all killers be like the old ones where it's the survivors that control the chase?

So, you think Billy, who had tons of counterplay needed a nerf, but you think spirit and PH are fine?

Yup. Spirit and Pyramid have downsides, they have time for survivors to recuperate. Hillbilly didn't have that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/190930/so-pyramid-head-will-soon-be-changed

You shouldn't get to fake your power, have the survivor mind game you and still get a hit anyways, hello? It's bad enough theres no way to tell if you're about to use your power or just making a trail. So I cant even learn when you like to mind game me or not. His cages are fine. The lose/lose situation at every pallet and vault is obviously stupid.

lol and what about when a killer mindgames a survivor, closes distance, survivor press E to get the distance back and gets the pallet anyway? hello?

  • @lostboy said:

"Nurse is still the only killer that comes close to looking OP. Now it takes a lot of practice to get that good and you need to make very few mistakes, but she still has by far the highest potential in the game and it's ridiculous that some people try to put Spirit over her in tier lists because they read others say it online."

As a nurse main, who has endured a lot of pain to learn the nurse I have become as a rank 1 I can tell you for certain whilst she is a powerful killer, she is not OP and I would 100%, without doubt put spirit in a higher tier to nurse if not on the same level.

The reason I say this is because I know all the bugs that come with nurse and if a survivor knows them, which some do she is very easily outplayed. I won't go into specifics but in certain areas on maps the nurse could blink aiming up but shoot directly down which would then end the chase. Blinks don't work on certain areas of the maps, again can end chases. Then there is delays on occasions with her second blink swing which is long enough delay for the survivor right in front of you to run just enough distance to miss hit them.

All that said, nurse is still very strong and can dominate most scenarios.

Bugs don't really count though. They aren't intended and will be fixed.......eventually.

I think that Freddy's fine and BT is the only thing people tend to complain about is either Snare Spam or BT not working. Other than that, I would like a faster recharge in generator teleportation.

Bubba's core design is an issue for me, but I also have no idea how to make it actually work without being frustrating for either side.

Now as for Spirit, I did have this argument last night night with ToxicMyers, but here's the summary. Spirit's power in a chase is all about DENYING Survivors information, while she loses none of it. My first thought was to have her lose some of the information that she removes. An eye for an eye sort of trade with her power. Most people want a method of seeing where she is, or lessening the reduction in information.

I did edit it after people told me that blood doesn't appear while phasing so that she gets that back. But yeah, my idea was based around having a trade-off, rather than weakening it's core strength.

While she loses none of it? lol she loses sight of everything, survivors, scratchmarks, blood, auras, everything while phasing.

Survivor perks create plenty of lose-lose situations for the killer. That's fine though. Only Pyramid needs the nerf.

I'd actually offer some (a lot) more fixes for Executioner (as a PH main myself).

    • The cages are sent to random locations.
    • The Executioner is not notified of the location when a survivor is rescued from a cage.
    • The auras of survivors in cages cannot be revealed to The Executioner.
    • Punishment Of The Damned (POTD) now applies Torment on a successful hit.
    • Gain free movement when using Rights of Judgement (ROJ).
    • Reduce cooldown of a successful POTD shot by 1 second (to 3 seconds).
    • Reduce the detonation delay of POTD.
    • Increase the width and range of POTD.
    • Increase the duration of exiting ROJ to 1.5 seconds.
    • Increase the slowdown of exiting ROJ to 77% speed.

Honestly, I feel like these would make him better and more rewarding to play whilst also fixing many of the common issues with him.

lol no. If a survivor wants to run OoO to give their swf a huge advantage then 100% their aura should be revealed in a cage. It's karma.

  • If they gave more counterplay to some of the survivor stuff it wouldn't be an issue, but they won't. They will make it harder for Pyramid to get hits though, guaranteed.

He can still get wrecked by a strong swf.

  • The no pp build is Blendette with sprint burst

  • He needs to be changed because he has the potential to counter a lot of survivor perks, DS, BT, Dead Hard etc

As we all know, no counterplay is only for the survivor side.

  • @Brhoom said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1616508#Comment_1616508

I'm not asking for equal speed here, I mean by 50/50 is when I get downed the reason could be either a bad play from me or a good play from the killer.

Red rank Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger, or Pyramid Head have a huge advantage while in a chase over the survivors that winning against them is the result of them screwing up and not us playing correctly.

    You didn't answer me,

How is the Deathslinger having a instant shot fair? What can we do as survivors?

How is Spirit with stridor fair? What can survivors do in that case?

How is Pyramid Head with I'm all ears fair? How can we counter a killer that can shut most loops that survivors just go down in seconds?

What are most of the pallets in the game? what are the god pallets? what are most of the loops? only way your standard M1 killer gets a hit there is if the survivor makes a mistake lmao an M1 killer getting a hit on Ormond is a result of the survivor messing up and not the killer playing correctly.

Survivors control the chase. Add in all the stretched res users and it gets even worse.

  • @Brhoom said:

@ClickyClicky You responded to criticism towards PH with whataboutism. Think Dead Hard is unfair? make a thread and explain there.

You finding a killer fun doesn't negate points raised about him in the community.

But you see so many complaining about spirit/deathslinger/pyramidhead yet nobody says anything about survivor perks other than DS. (which ironically isn't even the worst survivor perk)

Everyone having a free distance button with dead hard is why I don't use low tier killers anymore. People don't say anything because it's just accepted now that survivors have no counterplay. That needs to change.

  • I paid for Hex: Undying and decided to try out the killer that came with it. Got Rotten Fields as my first map.

  • @Brhoom "In these situations you don't feel equal with the killer"

It's an asymetrical horror game. If you're in the 4 then you're not meant to be equal to the 1. Making the 4 able to individually go toe-to-toe with the 1 is why half the killers in this game are trash.

@Kbot22 "I'm glad they are finally doing this, pyramid head is the most obvious killer (besides spirit) that has absolutely no counterplay besides the killer being bad. All the killer has to do is bring up his rites of judgement whenever you reach a pallet or window and you have no choose but to get hit. "

If you're running in a straight line towards a window and PyramidHead has his sword in the ground then yes you're getting hit. However people act like it's EVERY pallet/window which is not the case.

Firstly, PyramidHead MUST have his sword in the ground already. You can not put your sword in the ground, fire off a shock and get a hit if you do it as the survivor is vaulting/dropping a pallet. It must be done in advance. The hitbox on the shock attack is so slim survivors need only move a single footstep to the left or right for it to miss. Hence he needs to have it prepped.

Secondly, some loops in the game are at angles. For example on some maps the loops are in an oval shapre - 0, with the pallet at the slimmest parts. Due to the curve pyramid head can not line his attack up in advance, and if he tries it then due to him turning worse than a shopping cart he's very unlikely to get the hit. Likewise if you run in a building take a hard left and vault he's not gonna get the hit.

@Devil_hit11 This guy gets it. This is someone who has actually played PyramidHead vs good survivors. Pyramid needs a straight line. Anything at an angle and he's not gonna get it. Likewise you can randomly spam attacks through a wall and most wont hit, it wastes time. Also if you're stood still while he's spamming shocks through a wall then its on you for staying in an unsafe area. Pyramid isn't much different to Huntress, if she preps a hatchet as you run direct to a window then she gets the hit, if you fake it and run sideways she just adjusts her aim and throws at you. Yeah huntress is slower than pyramid at movement and prepping a hatchet but thats because her attack can go much further, much faster and she has full aiming, no shopping cart controls.

Let me ask you all a question that are saying pyramid head has no counterplay as you run towards a window....

If I'm playing Trapper, Wraith, Leatherface, Hillbilly, Legion, or any similar bog standard M1 killers, and I'm chasing a survivor in a straight line towards a window, and both me and the survivor know that at the distance between us, I'm likely to get the hit as the survivor vaults, so they tap E to add distance with Dead Hard and now they safely make the window vault...

What is the killers counterplay to that?

Oh that's right there's none. None at all. Yet nobody complains. Because it's just taken for granted that killers need plenty of counterplay in every situation but it's just generally accepted that survivors have none.

So many hypocrites out there. PyramidHead is fine. He's the most fun killer in a longtime and my new main. i know this is said a lot but if he gets gutted I genuinely think I'll be done with the game.

  • They probably just want their challenges.

Right now I’m waiting like 10 mins for a game as killer and then its either gonna be swf with object of obsession or swf burning busted maps like Ormond. These are actual examples from today.

In that case you’re damn right I’m just gonna try and get scratch off my challenge since if I dont I have to wait 10 mins for the next game, and even if I wanted to play for real its not going to be a fun game anyway when swf have tried to tilt the game even further to their advantage. If that requires letting them loop me around every pallet to make sure I get the full 180 seconds for chasing survivors then so be it.

Its not farming and I’m not forcing them to farm but they dont want a fair game anyway so I couldnt really care less if they dont get much out of the games while I focus on the dull challenges.

At least with the hook survivor challenges I can try to play normally. Gonna be using the top tier killers though with the best add ons since swf are bringing their favourite stuff. Survivors don’t want Spirit for example but then they try to make the game unplayable for Wraith or Trapper.

  • I just went against an Object of Obsession on Lery’s.

I kid you not, I didn’t notice they had that perk until I checked their load outs at the scoreboard screen.

Pretty astounding job so far. Nice buff to 4 man swf.

I’m EU. Most lobbies are 3-4 man swf without question. Unless someone wants to tell me its just coincidence all survivors are on each others friends lists.

Whatever their stats say about swf numbers and frequency its definitely not true in my region from my experience.

That is why there are other systems in place to take care of trolls. Use them or take your 5 minutes and move on if it hurts you so much.

We had a system that allowed for more leniency, but the cryhards abused it.

What systems? You cant report until after the game so you’re still stuck between letting idiots waste 10 minutes of your life or disconnecting and getting a 5 minute time out. Either way they win and get what they want.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that these reports are worthless. We have no way to prove otherwise.

  • If they nerf Spirit again after backtracking on the Billy changes I’m done with this game lol

And if killers truly want DS to be an anti-tunnel perk only, then does that mean that if it has to deactivate when another survivor is hooked or they touch a gen etc, does the 60 second timer get increased to compensate? Afterall if the killer comes seeking me out and then we have a chase and they try to pick me up 80 seconds after unhook it’s still tunneling right? Something to think about

  • So I did a test...

    =====

Deutan color blindness (also known as deuteranomaly) is a type of red-green color blindness in which the green cones in the eye detect too much red light and not enough green.

As a result, red, yellow, green, and brown can appear similar, especially in low light. It may also be difficult to tell the difference between blues and purples, or pinks and grays.

    ======

Red and brown can appear similar, which explains the issue with blood, Blendettes, and some of the map textures.

Plz, nerf P3 Blendettes. I might as well afk on rotten fields against them 😭

  • I am yes. Blood can be very hard to track and Blendettes are straight up overpowered in some areas.

Also you broke Gideon meat plant. Some areas are so dark its hard to even see the killer. I’ve had to switch to low settings to get around this.

  • I have close to 2000 hours.

Countering her? I dunno, it’s just like a sixth sense. Being able to guess what she’s going to do next. A lot of Spirits are predictable. Just as you need to be unpredictable as survivor against a Spirit or Nurse, a Spirit needs to be unpredictable as survivor.

Why dont I think shes op? Just based on thousands of games. I’ve played for 2k hours and seen good players, bad players, and in average Spirit doesn’t completely dominate as often as some other killers do. This was backed up with the stats last November too. This is why I complained about Billy on here and not Spirit because I noticed Billys were dominating far more often than Spirits due to Billy being easier to play and his kit having no downsides.

For example, consider the following scenarios....

Spirit hooks a survivor. She sees another some distance away with BBQ. She phases walks over at 176% speed. She reappears next to the survivor, but now her power is on cooldown so she’s chasing at 4.4m/s and she has to land 2 hits before that survivor goes down. This gives the other survivors time to rescue from the hook.

Now consider Billy. He hooks a survivor. Zooms across the map with bbq at 230% speed. He has his power available instantly, instadowns this survivor, now he leaves them slugged and zooms back to the hook to deny the unhook. If they’re already unhooked he can m1 to slug and then chase the unhooked, or he can arrive before the unhook happens and chase the would-be unhooker with an instadown.

Spirits kit has downsides. She has to 2-hit every survivor, she’s slow, her power has a cooldown. This keeps her in check and stops her snowball from being too much. Billy never had that.

That’s why after thousands of games I don’t feel like spirit is as overwhelming as people make her out to be. Not as much as Billy when things fall in place for him. Sure sometimes rng can hold his snowball back but when it starts its nigh-on impossible to stop.

Again my opinions are based on my personal experience based on thousands of games over a period of 2000 hours playtime so you may not agree but this is just my experience.

  • Trying to purposefully annoy the other side

Survivor - tbagging at pallets or exit gates

Killer - Intentionally leaving slugged until bleedout or EGC. Also hitting on hook.

For killer I would say tunneling too. Now you may say its a strategy, ok but sometimes they do it out of spite. Nurse players are notorious for this because they’re the most entitled. Run them for too long and they’ll start hitting on hook and tunneling hard. Like they’re mad at you because they decided to chase you for 3 minutes straight 🙄

  • @Mat_Sella said:

We do not miss the Tunnel Monster

He’s been reincarnated in the form of Deathslinger.

  • Lol the distant auras are so bad sometimes I’m not sure if I just cant see them or if Knock Out has now become a meta perk run by all killers.

I havent tried bbq yet as killer and tbh I think I’ll skip on it until the auras are changed.

....yeah how about we just don't include a means to talk, I'd prefer that. If this community actually acted like decent human beings maybe I'd have faith, but no one does and I'd rather not deal with childish screaming in my ear. I stopped playing COD ages ago due to this, even Apex I had to mute everyone the moment the game started.

I’m not gonna lie I get quite competitive playing the game sometimes and if voice chat was in I feel for the baby Claudette or Dweet I find hiding all game at the edge of the map. It would be a very Malcolm Tucker style rant.

  • See the problem is, if there was one map or killer or thing in the game that everyone agreed was broken then disconnecting would be justified until it was fixed.

But it’s all subjective. This person wants to disconnect because Ormond, this one because Haddonfield, this one because Coldwind etc

That’s where the problems start. That’s why the penalties are in there in the first place.

I don’t actually mind Haddonfield. Ormond isn’t great but I’ll take it over rotten fields or Oni’s map.

For me the two worst maps in the game are rotten fields as killer and Hawkins as survivor, and it’s funny because I’ve always thought this and then we got the stats and it proved that yes those two really are the most unbalanced maps in the game.

The closest thing to a universally hated killer is Legion. He should have been prioritised for a rework above all other killers.

  • Everytime I load in as killer on Ormond I smile and am thankful that it’s not Rotten Fields.

Its not a perfect map but there is worse out there.

  • That’s how most of this forum wants it though. Killers that get you no matter what with little skill requires on their part

  • I agree. Bye bye Legion.

The same way it sucks for 3 to escape when you did your best against fairly good players that managed to get 4 gens done and there is 1 that guy that got sacrificed. It does suck to get the stuff robbed off of your face.

Tbf, if one jerk wants to escape he will do it anyway leaving the other or others behind.

Exactly keys screw killers and solo survivors.

imo keys should be more common but only to open the hatch after the killer has closed it for the last survivor because right now the endgame is as dull as Legion. I know most killer mains here though would be against that.

Truth is, its the survivors fault everytime they trigger a Hag trap.

If you cant outplay Hag dont fault the killer for being better than you at the game.

Blaming the killer for your inability to outplay their power. Imagine that

Maybe, stop running all around the map? Don't trigger my trap and I cant down you.

Oh god what is it with people like you thinking you know everything about the game and trying to brag? 🙄 newbies can be so annoying.

My comment was about not being able to pull off a full we’ll make it heal in time. What on earth does that have to do with running around the map? The point is if the killer proxy camps then they can be back to the hook faster than we’ll make it heals a survivor. It has nothing to do with running around the map, you’d know that if your green rank self wasnt so busy to rush and try to brag.

I mentioned Hag players because those are notorious for it. Also outplay? You mean when you spam 10 traps in every direction around the hook and proxy camp anyway? So that if the survivor runs - they trigger a trap and they die, if they sit still for the heal - you run back anyway they die, if they try to crouch walk away, they’re too slow and they die. Yeah you really outplayed that fresh off the hook survivor gg ez 🙄 I bet you think you outplayed survivors when your NOED totem activates too right?
