Mostly no unless they're toxic.
However I've started a bit on specific maps. Rotten fields and midwich mostly. Diabolical maps I don't want to play. rotten fields especially is so frustrating as I can't see anyone. There's no point me chasing anyone in the corn because its so easy to lose survivors. Not sure if my colourblindness makes it worse but laurie in a bright blue shirt for example isn't too bad but nea in her default cosmeticic or a blendette and they're almost invisible from a few metres away.

The most interesting thing about the tournament is seeing PyramidHead get absolutely crapped on, seeing Spirit made to look mediocre, and seeing good players juke these killers again and again and have lengthy enough chases.
Kind of goes against the "killer OP, no counterplay" arguments right? I mean look at the last game, people claiming Aaron is some kind of legend at the game (he's overrated imo) but survivors so easily juking Pyramidhead because all it takes is a slight step to the side for POTD to miss. Gee I wonder why he has to do it during animation lock....
Meanwhile Nurse is still Queen. Shame we only saw one Billy, would have been interesting to see how well he performed but the one game we did see yeah he was dominating.
Of course I've been saying this for a long time though.
-
His purple add ons are bad too.
The one that shows tormented survivor auras. It's very niche for an ultra rare. Couldn't it just show survivor auras for 4 seconds? maybe outside of 40m, that way it just acts as a BBQ. Not insane for an ultra rare.

Sorry but I gotta be that guy, I put nurse in low tier for the same.reason archers in ancient military were nowhere near as plentiful as media makes it seem.
Nurse is stupid powerful if you dont make mistakes and dont have bugs, but she does and people do. A mistake on nurse, almost more than any other character can completely throw a game. While she is certainly high tier if you can master her, the vast majority of people find her unplayable and THAT is why i put her at low tier.
Kinda like prerework Urgot in league of legends, stupidly broken and strong if you knew how to use him, but if you didnt he was garbage.
That's not how it works. There's a skillcap but she's still the most powerful.
@2ndBusiestmusicnerd You forgot to add the all seeing add on vs survivors that weren't healing on a small map.

Face camping, camping and tunneling are a part of the game.
I just wish the Devs would add this warning to the hint screen and have it pop up more often than others the way the mobile Devs do.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B9B7H2I8S4HW/image.png
It truly is a shame.
Good luck and hope you'll come back.
omg that's actually in the game? wow the mobile version really is lightyears ahead of the PC version. This should pop up every single time the game loads up until survivors take notice.
For what it's worth this is why I mostly play killer now. It sucks seeing the majority of killers win by camp/tunnel/noed combo. Even worse when your team sits around and lets it happen.
This is why the devs don't nerf DS. It's there to discourage tunneling. Its not perfect but it's a necessary evil. It's also why survivors need to stop complaining about BBQ. If the killer goes to chase someone 40+metres away then they aren't camping/tunneling, that's a good thing.
-
Seeing Spirit get crapped on again and again, even "teh best spirit in teh world aaron!1"
I told y'all ages ago she's not as godlike as people make out. The real strength of 4 people on comms is spreading out the gens, Spirit and most killers simply can't deal with that. That's why I don't find it surprising that the one Billy we saw had a much better performance. He can patrol the map and the instadown saves so much time per chase.
Its why swf is so powerful in the game too. You don't need to be tournament level just to decide to rush the middle gens and leave the final few gens spread out.
-
On PC Spirits do that, except theres no make your choice and they rush back to tunnel the survivor who got unhooked instead.
The console meta actually sounds preferable lol
-
lol I hate this so much. Seems recent? as in some time after Pyramdhead patch.
You waste time looking for them, which makes it easier for others to get there for flashlight saves, or the survivor teleports under the pallet so then you gotta scare the others away
-
When you're being chased by The Blight
-
Because it screws and punishes killers who don't take NOED?
Adrenaline is mostly used by SWF. You get multiple instaheals, and you've got 20 seconds to catch up to a survivor, hit them, catch up again, hit them, before their friend who has been waiting next to the exit gate opens it.
If you don't have NOED or instadowns you're screwed. It takes about 20 seconds to catch up to one or to make it over to an exit gate.
On top of that there are situations where it absolutely screws you. I remember one game where I had 1 survivor on hook, 1 survivor slugged in front of the hook (meat plant so no hooks nearby), and I'm looking for the last survivor but had problems finding him due to sound bugs. Find him on a gen he pops it in front of my face, he gets instahealed and runs away at light speed, one on the ground gets up and unhooks the other survivor who was then instahealed to full health.
3 survivors running adrenaline turned a 4k into a 2k. That's pretty damn powerful is it not?
Basically it's often just a slap in the face to the killer. It's salt in the wound. It bones you at the worst possible time.

Im an average spirit. Yes i use stridor. I got countered hard today. How? urban evasion and a wall. Made me miss read where they were. That one trick costed me 2 gens and 15 seconds. Lol but spirit has no counters.
Every missplay leaves her as a 110% killer with a lengthy cooldown. She gets punished hard for every mistake which I think people forget.
-
The game is SWF sided, not survivor sided.
To clairy that's 3man ->4man swf which gives survivors map control. a 2 n 2 stack isn't so bad.

You are using terms like "god tier curves on billy", "Doctor's perfect timing" "Perfect dashes on Oni". Yes, of course, if a killer masters a chosen killer, then of course he's gonna stomp a lot of survivors. All those killers have counterplay though - you can just pre-drop pallets. You are wasting resources, yes, but you can actually survive for a longer period of time.
Most stealth killers can be countered by just being observant or just by running spine chill. There are also tactics that counter a lot of killer powers.
Spirit and PH? You don't need a lot of skill to play them well. No need to master them, like the other killers, because they have the most brainless powers.
PH is ALWAYS guaranteed a hit if he fakes his power on a window. No counterplay there. No mindgames you can apply.
Spirit, if running stridor, also has no counterplay. Even Iron Will, the only perk that remotely counters her doesn't help at all.
You say Spirit and PH don't require skill yet I see baby spirits/pyramids get stomped way harder than babybillys or babydoctors.
Also, people keep saying killers take no skill.....but sad to say all I see is survivors taking no skill these days. I often feel like I'm playing against perks rather than people.
Can't loop but has sprint burst to add an extra 20 seconds to chase, can't predict killer mindgames but has dead hard to get distance back, then of course there are all the times you get cucked by all the second chance perks, DS, Unbreakable, BT, Adrenaline, Deliverance etc

Cleansing dull totems was only important for Thrill to weaken it and potentional NOED (and points), but now with Undying into play its even more important to cleanse dulls. If Haunted Grounds was transferred multiple times that means nobody cleansed any dulls.
Its becoming more important to cleanse dulls and less optional with undying.
In fairness isn't it time then to give solo survivors some indication of when a dull totem is cleansed? so they aren't wasting time looking for totems that may not exist? or so if they know whether or not a hex totem still has a dull totem to be transferred to?

Yes.
So cleanse those dull totems so Hexes can’t transfer
I hate when people say "just do bones" but in this case yes lol, just do bones. Me and my friend play 2 mans swf, we both take Inner Strength, theres no way in a game with us HG would ever activate more than once. Some survivors really are lazy with totems.
-
Does anyone know how it works?
undying = 1 totem
haunted = 2 totems
If a survivor takes out the 1 lit totem, does it keep the other lit totem in place and just spawn a single new lit totem?
I'd imagine it would. cant see why it would deactivate the lit and spawn 2 new fresh lit totems

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VJJRHN76N6S1/image.png
No, but seriously. There is a very small chance to get those Survivors in casual Matches, so it's not really realistic to say that Survivors are op if they are so rare in casual Games.
I regularly see survivors with more gametime than many of these tourney players. Granted playtime isn't everything but after 3,000 - 7,000 hours no matter what you started out as you get damn good at the game.
-
It's understandable that its more fun to go against standard M1 killers where as a survivor you control the chase, however people need to understand that it's often not as fun for killer.
PyramidHead is a lot of fun and my new main. Used to consider myself a Clown main but I actually use a variety more than anything. He's not overpowered at all. Like Clown he is strong in chase but weaker in map pressure. A good swf splitting across the map can still hurt him.
-
lmao oh look....
A wild Hillbilly appears......one of the most dominant games of the tournament 🤣on pallet lodge as well!
So much for Billy being dead, I told you his pressure is still insane. I swear some of you people don't even play the same game. Nerf Pyramid though even though he's not as godlike as people make him out to be.
-
I think what some people mean is a hard counter. When Trapper is chasing you at a jungle gym, you drop the pallet and that's it. He can't get you. He has to break the pallet and then you can run to the next.
With Spirit/Nurse dropping the pallet isn't necessarily the end of it. They can still play around a pallet or loop. However you can juke both of them, you can predict their next move and do the opposite of what they expect, this makes them miss and extends the chase until they're able to use their power again, however it's not a black/white scenario like dropping a pallet against an M1 killer is.
Things in the game that legit have no counterplay, endgame DS, BT etc Dead hard for distance (if your killer doesn't have the add ons) etc etc none of this has counterplay but it's apparently fine because it's on the survivor side.
-
It goes to show that a lot of killers are overrated. PyramidHead got wrecked mostly, "but but OP!!1" yeah right.
Spirit also isn't the unstoppable force some people make her out to be. Performance overrall was underwhelming. Sure she was limited to brown add ons due to a sound bug on her footsteps but survivors had perk and add on resrictions too.
Nurse is still by far the strongest killer in the game....in the right hands. Some people will try to convince you that she's now bottom tier lol
Funny to see the DS + Deliverance combo grant free escapes. In fact most of the "no counterplay" was on the survivor side, but it's ok because only killers should have counterplay.
Survivors did seem like the powerrole against anyone but Nurse but then you remember this is 4 people on comms.
swf -> killer -> solo
Thats how everyone assumes the balance is and it seems to be correct.
-
His old add ons were busted and his overheat mechanic is very generous and barely comes into play.

Spirit isn't overhyped, most of the spirits were garbage, watch the good spirits like trickster and ayrun play.
Nurse is still the best killer.
I think the only thing that made DS look overhyped in the tourney was the bug.
Agreed, noed still needs to be deleted.
Saw his Spirit just now.
2 hooks before all 5 gens were done
Got another hook with NOED, at which point the survivor escaped anyway due to Deliverance and DS (no counterplay btw but nerf Spirit and Pyramid), then manages to get 1 more hook only due to the fact that DS is bugged so the extra few seconds allow him to get another survivor down just in time with NOED.
Spirit OP.
-
I completely agree
-
There a huge advantage in terms of information.
You can kill a survivor, hit a gen and have it regress all the way because others dont know about it. In SWF they tell their friends and someone finishes that gen shortly after.
You can co-ordinate which gens to do, which ones to repair first, which gens to double up on.
You can relay totem information which is huge against any totem builds
You can co-ordinate who goes for the rescue leaving others on generators
and so on and so on
Sure theres a lot of average teams out there but there’s also a lot of good teams. I see so many survivors with 3,000 - 6,000 hours on the game. Likey the reason they keep coming back is due to being able to play with their friends but when its 4 good runners and they have full map information it does unbalance the game.
With 4 survivors on comms the survivors control the map.
-
Way better. Without corrupt on mothers dweling for example they’re still getting 2 gens early even with ruin.
With corrupt you can pressure the 4 gens, and by the time corrupt ends you have some pressure over the survivors that ruin can take effect
-
Billy was overperforming. He had second highest killrate last time we saw the stats. Hence the nerf.
Clown had the lowest killrate. They’re not going to make Clown worse, only better. He will be getting changes that will likely help him out a little bit.

You have bamboozle to zone a survivor which in most cases is a hit. If you ar eloping shack you wait to bamboozle. If survivors see a window is bamboozled they will leave unless another tile is close by the deadhead is meaningless.
Lunge as soon as they dead hard to force spiri fury. That's what I used to do when I ran that perk.
Sprint burst is powerful but how would you change if? It's the least of your problems and not really a problem to start with. Gen speeds and map my friend. Sprint helps at the start of the chase nothing else all you have to do is zone a survivor if you see a survivor on gens I say the best would be to move left and right and narrow their escapes if you get what I mean.
BT uses it to get quick farms them respect it then you get a free slug or try to ignore them if they body block. What's wrong with playing offensively? Its pressuring you as killer and not to mention a smart strategy.
UB/DS always slug you delete unbreakable early and it's still pressure. It has about as much counter to spirit,ph, ds. I mean killers have been getting buffed while survivors catch nerfs after nerds for a good year to 2 years. So I mean what can you truly say they want to *look at* one killer and it's a fit for what?
tournament not everyone is a tourny player so I'm gonna ignore this. Even then PH can still force lose lose situations. Another thing is survivors have no input versus a good PH , spirit , ds.
They control the chase they never made the killer misplay the killer missed theirselves. I never said of implied survivors are supposed to be healthy permanently. Yeah you can buy 20 seconds if you get lucky and give your team time but that isnt fun.
People dont like ph, ds ,spirit because your input means nothing. Old killers were designed better. Bubba is extremely strong in chase now. Trapper and wraith need buffs to be more chase oriented but they could still use their powers to beat survivors without them making mistakes. Anyways I'm dragging this on and dont want to type 4v1 or not survivors should have their input matter.
Also didnt you used to be a survivor biased person cool to see you defend killers but what changed during your ban?
The point is if the survivor is running to a window for example shack, they dont make it they go down as they vault or before. They Dead Hard and now they get to play shack. Its an opportunity and a tile they wouldnt have had. You bamboozle the window they play the pallet and use it to get to another pallet. Bamboozle does not counter it lol if its a fresh tile.
Likewise if the survivor dead hards far enough ahead of you they can drop the pallet early. What you’re saying only works if you’re right on the survivors back.
Bubba is trash on some maps i.e Ormond.
I get why people dont like those killers. Its not that input is meaningless, you can always juke them, it happens plenty of times to spirit/pyramid, its just that you arent guaranteed safety by a pallet. Drop a pallet on a spirit for example and she still has a chance to get you, you cant just run to another tile.
I understand that im not denying it, but this is why people dont like the low tier killers because for them their input is meaningless in a chase. Many pallets are safe, mindgames dont work as well on good survivors and they all have dead hard to rectify their mistake anyway, you just rely on the survivor to make mistakes. Its the same thing but roles reversed.
-
Play her yourself is the best way. Watch a few videos, learn a few tricks and then start playing her.
You end up being able to read the scrub Spirits like a book. I remember being on a hill healing a survivor under a hook when a Spirit comes back. Shes waiting for the drop so she doesnt have to walk around so she stands still and pretends to phase. Other survivor was panicking but I knew she was faking it, then she moved, then she faked it again and I called it and kept trying to heal the other survivor, and I knew on the third go she was gonna phase for real so I point at the other survivor to run and yup spirit actually phase walks this time.
All I can say is play her and you will learn. This is what good survivors do to Spirits. So Spirits are then forced to play in unnatural ways to try and throw survivors off and survivors likewise.
General tips - First phase will almost always be a fake. Shes gonna watch and see how you react
At a loop dont ever run towards her, dont blindly run into the open either and dont stand still. Give it a second or two and then slowly start walking away. If she was faking and starts moving you can still get the pallet, if she was actually phasing then you have moved position and she wont land on top of you.
Its really hard to give general tips because it depends on where you are, whats nearby, how the spirit has been playing, how she thinks your playing, and whether you’re injured or not.
But playing her is the best way to help predict her next move.
-
I’m not too familiar with Midwich. Isn’t it a 5 minute walk to get upstairs if you dont open it?
-
They changed DS before.
-
Play swf. Have others leave before you and you’ll get 3 per game, even if you die as long as you’re alive while they leave you get the progress.
As solo lol nobodys escaping without a key.
-
Over 1k hours per survivor.....lol I’d kill for that.
For me the survivors start at 2,600 hours minimum and go to over 6,000 hours. Guessing the EU servers have a small playerbase on PC?
I think they do know about the balance thats why killers over the past year have generally been stronger than previous years.

not every game is gonna be tourney squads
And not ever person playing killer is going to be tournament level.
To be honest you dont need to be a tourney squad. Just 3-4 man swf is good because when they know one is in chase the rest sit on gens, and theres no “skill” to gens, what I mean by that is whether you have 10,000 hours or 10 hours on the game everyone does them at the same speed. So as long as you can sit on gens while a survivor is being chased you’re doing great for your team.
I play on PC on EU servers though and for the people that display their game time on their profiles it’s mostly 2,600 hours - 6,400 hours I’ve seen on survivors recently, which is about the same playtime all the tourny players had.

oh yes you know billy, huntress, oni, demo, nurse all killers that are strong and have fun counterplay
And look how many of them were in the tournament. None. I think Billy could have done good but still he wasnt used..
Notice the common theme among the most picked killers...
Nurse, Spirit, Hag, PyramidHead.
4 killers that can’t be looped indefinitely and don’t rely on survivor mistakes in order to get a hit.
Because when you use a killer that needs the survivors to misplay, wasting time being forced to kick pallets is not viable when you know for a fact this is a team on discord and the rest are sat on gens.

I remember you from months ago, what changed?
My issues were with Billy and his ever-present pressure. Full map traversal and instadowns, along with some add ons that allowed him to spam his chainsaw with no punishment.
Neither Pyramid nor Spirit has that. Also they have punishments for spamming their power.
The argument here is about “no counterplay”. It’s a different argument. It also reeks of hypocrisy. Nobody wants to use M1 killers, get looped around safe pallet after safe pallet after safe pallet by a swf on Ormond with stretched res. Mindgame them at shack or a loop to close distance and they all have dead hard for distance to gain it back anyway. All of that it “no counterplay” but nobody says anything.
Survivors are right it is absolutely more fun to play against a typical old fashioned M1 killer than Deathslinger, Pyramidhead or Spirit because the survivors control the chase. Theres nothing wrong with them stating that and I can see their point. However its not fun to play as those killers against good survivors with stacked second chance perks, the 1 power role needing to rely on the 4 to make mistakes in order to win. Its much more fun to play killers who have an equal chance in a chase or control a chase.

spirit fury, enduring, brutal strength and bamboozle so l can end chases quick
Right and I saw you mention that you play Myers.
Think about what’s happening. Survivors will be on gens within the first few seconds of the game, you’ll be stalking and chasing one and the rest will stay on gens. The gens themselves never lose progression unless you kick them and even then they regress at a really slow rate and only need a tap to cancel that.
In the early game the gens are far apart. Survivors will be on multiple gens. No way you can pressure them all consistently as Myers so you’re gonna lose some early. Then without regression if a gen gets 60 charges out of 80, and you chase that survivor that gen is staying at 60 charges.
I would honestly put Corrupt Intervention in that build. It stops survivors from jumping straight on gens and brings them into a smaller playing field towards you making stalking them easier.
You probably dont need enduring/spirit fury/ brutal strength together. Swap out brutal for corrupt.
I’d maybe swap a perk for Pop or infectious too. Pop to hard regress the gens or infectious so you can slug in tier 3 for pressure.
-
Oh man I thought it was just me. No lie I’ve had Mothers dwelling more times in the past 3 days than in the past 3 months.
-
What are your perks? Corrupt is a must. It stops survivors jumping on gens immediately, stops them from spreading out, and shrinks the playing field during the early game so you can apply more pressure.
Right now I’m running Corrupt, BBQ, Undying, Ruin.
It’s quite strong. You’ve only got 4 gens to pressure for 2 mins and anytime you chase a survivor off the gens auto regress.
-
Yeah we just keep ripping on Spirit/Pyramidhead and completely ignore everything on the survivor side. That’s how the game comes fair and balanced ^_^
-
No. I reported over a month ago with video evidence and its been left on pending. Heard others had the same experience where reports are being looked at and ignored.

I think it would be great to remove his stalk limit on survivors. GF doesn't have that afaik, why should he?
Because GF can only expose the survivor he’s stalking.
Myers could abuse an AFK player for example to get the team.

I disagree. Doctor's map pressure isn't that great but his detection plus chase potential makes him pretty damn strong, and Leatherface doesn't have much map pressure himself but he is insanely deadly. I also find Freddy to be very, very strong. Good chase potential and excellent map pressure.
But I understand where you are coming from.
Problem with LF is that its been proven multiple times that survivors can drop every pallet early and still win so long as the others are on gens and not wasting time.
Maybe it depends on the map. On Ormond for example he’s really crippled.

Wait, do you think it's actually difficult to play PH with his current tactic? There's not much skill to it, and it's guaranteed. Either animation-lock into hit, or go fo the easiest m1 of your life. At least survivors would be able to mindgame his alt attack if he couldn't borderline-instantly m1.
Seriously, there's not much skill to just zoning with PH. At least Slinger requires your to be a good shot. PH just gets you without a chance to avoid it and with little to no skill
Because running around a pallet in a circle then dropping it when the killer gets close is so skillful right? Running a trapper, wraith, pig etc from safe pallet to safe pallet and having dead hard ready to get your distance back if you fall for a mindgame. High level play right there.

Dead hard for distance window or pallet is countered by bamboozle and spirit fury. It's an x perk argument both both are perks so fair game.
Sprint burst is 3 seconds per 40 seconds and is limited to you not running between those 40 seconds. What more do you want to so about the perk that's 3 limits right there.
Bt is literally dont tunnel/camp. DS is slug regardless of unbreakable because you gain pressure and have the opportunity to make them waste it.
Ok are you intentionally being naive now?
Bamboozle works when a survivor is looping the same window over and over again. If the survivor runs towards a new window in a chase theres is no way to apply Bamboozle to it, which often forces the killer to go around which allows the survivor to reach a nearby pallet. Bamboozle does not counter Dead Hard for distance.
Spirit fury doesnt either. If the survivor dead hards for distance then they’re able to drop the pallet early enough to avoid the pallet stun which avoids spirit fury
Sprint burst is still one of the most powerful survivor perks. Sure it has a downside but the 40 second cooldown is not much, its easy to sprint burst around the map and still have it ready by the time the killer comes. Still a minor inconvenience for a perk that completely negates stealth killers entire power.
BT they yank survivors off hooks when you’ve only taken 5 steps away from the hook. They dont even give you the chance to get away from the hook. You try to slug not for the sake of tunneling but just to gain pressure, but nope borrowed time. Again survivors are using it offensively doing the unhook before you even have chance to get away.
Unbreakable/DS sure you can get them to use it but it still allows the rest to sit on gens if they’re in a swf and it still has no counter.....which is the entire complaint people are throwing at Pyramidhead, Spirit and Deathslinger -no counter. Which goes to show if theres little to no counterplay on the survivor side you get excuses but if its on the killer side lets call for nerf after nerf after nerf.
Play Pyramidhead against good players. They know how to juke. Watch Hexys tournament from yesterday. Good players can avoid his hits and make him misplay. Can they do it all game? No because Pyramidhead has some input in chases. But the fact is survivors arent meant to stay unhooked permanently, they’re meant to buy other survivors as much time as they can. Lasting an extra 20 seconds in a chase buys your team an extra 20 seconds on gens. All this time adds up and yes the gens do get done.
Thats why people dont like spirit/pyramidhead because those killers have a chance to get a hit in chases. People are spoiled by the old killers, Trapper, Wraith, Bubba etc these killers had pretty much no input in chases. They relied almost entirely on survivors to make mistakes in order to get the hit so yes a survivor could loop these killers for a full 5 gens. This is why people consider them underpowered.
Its a 4 vs 1 yet the 4 control the chases.
-
I think he’s the most boring killer to play against by a mile, and one of the most boring to play as. He needs a fully Freddy style rework imo

While survivors complain about Camping and Tunneling which are both legit strats of course, Killer complain about genrush all the time. It goes both ways.
You know what my thoughts are right now after seeing round 2 (No suprise for me, but for many apparently):
The only argument killer mains bring all the time are "SWF are OP" and this tournament shows that not even that is true. Killer are dominating, most games 2 or more kills. Even Wraith and Plague can destroy the best of the best teams on coms.
To be fair a lot of killers had NOED to counter genrush and survivors were limited to 2 of each perk per team.
Also wraith had his all seeing add on lol
-
I say Rotten Fields because I’m corn blind. This map is nothing but frustration for me as I lean forward and squint trying to find a survivor who disappeared in front of my face. Statistically this is the safest map in the game.
