Yeah, once, an outlier contrasted against the 900 other PH matches where PH got stomped again and again and again.
Not to mention that was in the earlier rounds when the weaker teams were still in the tourney. PH never performed like that against the stronger teams.

It is somewhat instant. Compared to Huntress, theres basically no cooldown between cancelling his power.
But that's because the hatchets are her main attack. They are designed to be used as her main attack.
Pyramid's power doesn't work like that, which is why it has bad turning, shows the trail before the hit, and has limited range. They aren't comparable powers which is why one has a large cooldown and the other doesn't. Besides he needs to M2 to get those trails down in the loop which is probably why they let him cancel quickly.
We're comparing apples to oranges here.

Clown i can kinda understand, similar with doctor. they're area of effect makes evading them to begin with quite tricky and frustrating, and if they are campers you're very much done. not uncounterable, but very frustrating.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629759#Comment_1629759
it's the same people who will run away from him in a straight line...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629789#Comment_1629789
When you say proxy camp, please define. I've seen a ton of people call me camper because I reloaded after hooking and then walked away and hadn't even gotten out of the gun's reach when the person got unhooked...
like.... could people at least way until i turned a corner or something?
Or have actually kicked the nearby gen i walked towards?
Those games will always exist but with DS you give them all the time in the world to leave and they never do.
Its easy to see why. Low mobility and a ranged attack. Bad Huntress players play the same way.

I love all this talk about killers needing higher skillcaps. Killers need more skill to get good results.
Meanwhile you got survivors using sprint burst to run to the nearest god loop and having their swf rush gens. Unbreakable/DS for a minute of invulnerability, Dead hard to cover you when you make a mistake, and enough coldwind/ormond offerings to last a lifetime.
I din’t think you will find anyone with thousands of hours on this game and no bias that wont tell you a number of killers are underpowered against a strong survivor group with meta perks or a bad map offering. The killer would need to play exceptionally well to overcome that disadvantage. Why is it always the killers that need to sweat? Why do the survivors get the easy route?
Mothers dwelling keeps coming up and survivors just sprint burst to the god windows when they’re open to waste time yet it’s the killers that need to put in more skill to earn the win. Funny how that works.

Yes I like claudette because my character has so much relevancy to your argument. Purple flashlight because currently it is not only the most fun, but skilled based item in the game.
Yes I do indeed run sprint burst a good perk also the ebst exhaustion perk. OoO because DS is bugged and I want variety not to mention I'm usually playing solo and even in swf dont call out.
Clickyclicky because getting the killers attention is sooooo bad not like the gates needed to be opened. Ormond was random btw I dont even like the map tis extremely survivor sided.
That's not what all people w as nt you are assuming this for the sake of your weak argument lol. You got like a vendetta against survivor mains. Chasing Is the most interaction for survivors if the chase is one sided why play? Food for thought.
How is purple flashlight with add ons the most skill based? Technically wouldnt that be yellow flashlight no add ons?
and you never call out in swf? You never let slip “I think hes coming your way” when the killer stops chasing you and goes after someone else?
You got OoO which the killer cant do anything about, you got a purple flashlight with add ons for an almost instablind, you got sprintburst which has no counter and provides a free getaway, all of this is extremely powerful against someone like Trapper, Myers, LF etc and you wonder why people are gonna pick killers like PH and probably Spirit too.

When you say farm did they have BT?
To date I haven’t seen a single DeathSlinger ever not proxy camp and tunnel. Not a single one since he came out in February. I’d remember because with Ghostface I’ve at least seen 3, maybe 4 over the past year and its so rare its easy to remember, but with Dudslinger it hasn’t happened once yet. Hes pretty well known for camping, maybe that has something to do with it?
Or maybe they’re in the crowd that hates his power and just wants the game over.

With the new map changes like closing doors , removing blood lust is logical. There are some areas in Spring Wood where you cant reach to the next loop because of bloodlust and it has been totally unfair for survivors with closed doors. So with close doors removing blood lust would be a good option and maybe they have planned it in a way where killer could actually break the doors to mind game.
Springwood is an example of why Bloodlust 1 is needed though. The school itself is a hold W zone, with ultra safe pallets.
The hold W areas of the game are dull and all need reworking but that would require changing the Midwich map entirely.

Him having an insta cancel into swing is not balanced. It allows to zone and force you into unfair 50/50s. I dont understand how you even can remotely find that good. Every killer besides him and DS has a cooldown. Plague? Yes, huntress? Yes. Why must he not have it.
You know deathslinger was originally going to be 115 but people used his power to zone rather than shoot to gain distance. Food for thought. Sad part is hes still used this way.
Lol and how does it work with other killers? There isnt even a 50/50, they’re forced to eat pallets while you run to another and another and another.
The whole debate against killers like Pyramid and Spirit is who should control the chase, survivors or the killer. It has always been the survivors and now people dont like the change. Nurse was always hated too and hell even Clown used to get a lot of negativity.
The 1 relying on the 4 to make mistakes in chases are why so many are not viable. Its also why you get people running an ochido style build, claudette with purple flashlight and OoO because against an older killer the survivor gets to be the power role especially so in SWF.

Instant cancel mans had his power out well after I break los and he still gets rewarded. Dumb if you ask me.
I mean just look at that video. Claudette with purple flashlight, sprint burst, Object of obsession and even a little clickyclicky in there. On Ormond too.
Whats your bog standard M1 killer gonna do? Just eat pallets all day while you click click at him from the exit gates? Lets be honest thats what people want.

You talking about vacuuming the pallet that works wonders but if the PH is patient they will shoot at the same time of the stun and get the hit anyways. Heres a vacuum clip.
https://xboxclips.co/azame-san/6e5ab5ed-12d0-419a-b463-c7efaf753c45
Also showcases insta cancel bs
Yes could you imagine how trash he would be if he had a longer cancel time? If the Claudette made a mistake but you’re not allowed to swing you just gotta watch her vault the window and click her flashlight at you?
I swear people will have him nerfed into trash tier at this rate.

@Kellie said:
The issue with PH is him being able to instantly M1 after canceling his power. Killers like Huntress, Demogorgon, and Pig don't have that, so why should he?
1) It’s not instant.
2) It would kill him at loops.
3) Huntress has a completely different power. Hers is fully ranged and she can freely aim. PH has limited range and limited turning. Comparing them is pointless, it would be like me saying “Huntress can quickly combo an M2 into an M1, why can’t Pyramid?” Different powers.
4) Pig again different power. Hers takes away her terror radius. Thats how stealth killers were back then, they got to sneak up on survivors but had a pause so survivors had a chance to react. Then they made Ghostface....
5) Demogorgan is trash so that kind of proves the point.
-
I’ll go against the grain and say Clowns bottles are way better. See a survivor running to a strong loop? As Clown as you stop that and get a hit, as Freddy you can’t do anything since you can’t put snares in front of them.

@Godot said:
Would it make Technician too OP if we turned the 50% explosion prevention into 100% (but it would still pause repairing upon an explosion)? It would take up a perk slot after all, but it would drastically help those who can't hit skill checks.
I’d consider taking it as a main perk then.
Everytime I let go of a gen it blows up. Apparently its just a skillcheck loading as you let go I heard but I’m convinced gens are randomly programmed to explode as you let go.
If Technician was 100% prevention it would be pretty strong. 3 of these letting explosions avoided and you’d save yourself 24 seconds of gen time.
Downside is it would completely nullify Huntress Lullaby if anyone wanted to use that.

I just wish we could rank up more quickly
1 pip, 1 pip, ebony mori, 1 pip, dead on first hook, safety pip.
Yeah its bs how your pips depend on the other 4 players.
If the killer doesnt get enough hooks or just tunnels 1 survivor you get less points
If the other 4 survivors all hush rook and go down with 1 gen done you get no points
Its easier to get points at red ranks because there’s a lot more action
-
-
What do you mean by "dodge"? like a vault? or a pallet drop? or a 360?
-
Yeah regression has always been one of the major problems.
If a survivor puts 60 out of 80 charges into a generator, that generator will be staying at 60 charges without some kind of regression.
Base regression is very bad. 1/4th the speed and survivors can stop it with a tap. Chances are other survivors will know about the gen and stop it from regression, especially in SWF. Maybe not so much in solo if its at the edge of the map.
That's why Ruin and Pop are so strong. Ruin gives you the fast, automatic regression and Pop just forces a hard chunk off of 25%. Even surge is something, hitting 3 gens theres more of a chance of survivors not knowing about 1 regressing, but then surge will sometimes only affect 1 or 0 gens.
Ideally you want something to help with regression unless you're planning a snowball build.
-
Added: Well this was always PyramidHead so I guess I need something new now. I'd love another video game franchise added, I guess the obvious one is Nemesis from Resident Evil. How they would balance a rocket launcher in the game I don't know 😅
Don't want: I have to agree sprintrap doesn't fit too well. Chucky would be kind of cool but I think it would really suck being camped out and tunneled across the map by a midget.
-
Yeah there's no real difference. That's greatly exaggerated. I feel like PC has the very best survivors but also the very worst and console is inbetween. Likely due to PC having a larger dedicated base of players that have been around for 4 years, these are the people with 5k+ hours, but then you get the more casual crowd, the people that download the game on their laptop and play with a trackpad, these are your potatoes.
Overrall though console survivors are not as bad as people make out. Honestly I think I'd rather have console survivors on my side they seem to at least try to play normally, pc has more afk players and complete potatoes.
Only difference I notice in game is that PC survivors drop a safe pallet and either run or spin in circles to watch you break it, console survivors drop the pallet and stand there motionless until they see you break it. It's a minor detail but I notice it pretty consistently.

I made a whole forum post on dead hard earlier. It ended up getting like 7 pages of survivor mains calling me trash 😂
Dead Hard is OP on certain loops, you'll finally catch the survivor and they'll just dead hard back into the loop.
However it's such a popular perk that I don't see any changes ever being done with it. 😬
Whats weird is even killer mains defend DH and say it takes skill (it really doesnt). Yet they complain about DS
Depending on which killer I’m playing I’d take 4 DS over 4 DH anyday. You can play around DS. Most killers can’t play around DH and rely on the survivor making a mistake.

@SleepyWillo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1627797#Comment_1627797
Dead Hard barely works 25%of the time. You typically end up exhausted and on the ground. Its only reliable for getting a few yards in a chase. And after using it once as a killer you literally just bait it and then down them.
SB is better as it gives you more distance and more consistency.
But then its still working 75% of the time and when using it for distance its gonna work 100% of the time and most M1 killers have no counter to it......yet all the people using this perk complain about spirit/pyramid.
Theres a lot of powerful perks on the survivor side like DS, unbreakable etc but for me personally none actually take the fun out of playing killer quite like DH does as no other perk actually nullifies a killers power. Trapper being the worst hit by this.
Sprint burst does the same against stealth killers.
-
I think Dead Hard should be changed. It’s the one perk that actually makes the game less fun to play as killer.
Mindgame them with an M1 killer? Dead hard for distance to undo their mistake. It robs of a rewarding feeling of outplaying the survivor.
Pull off an amazing split second shot with Huntress, Deathslinger, Plague? Tap E to nullify it. Sometimes you only have a brief window to get the shot and you pull it off and they just tap a button to undo it
Line up a good blink/rush with Nurse/Blight? Even if you predict the dead hard coming and dont attack you’re still taking the fatigue. These are the worst hit by it.
I know people will disagree and say its skill based and fine yadda yadda but to me it just sucks the fun out of the game using the killer well and having it rendered void by a tap of the E key.
-
@IamFran said:
Who use that perk in first place?
It has the potential to be one of the best perks for rushing gens but is RNG based.
-
Yeah it is really bad, especially when your reveal is cancelled at 99% because he walked past a tree branch that covered his body for a second but now he knows where you are.
Or when you see him but it doesnt count then within seconds your exposed.
Theres a number of reason I stopped playing survivor but Ghostface is one of them. Not just an unfun killer but actually saps the fun out of the game.
-
Why doesn’t it surprise me that all the uproar is over a Legion cosmetic. Its funny hes such broken bad design yet has the most diehard fanboys on reddit.
You can’t compare this to Oni. Oni was created from the ground up to transform.
As far as I remember Spirit is the only killer in the game who changes facial animations and thats done on a cycle I think, not based on context of whats happening in the game. Theres no info on whether this cosmetic would change animations or just be a texture swap but either way it takes time and money to create it and I dont think many companies would be doing that for a one-off skin.

Plague is possibly the most bizarrely restricted killer on the roster. Everything that could make her good is slightly tweaked to render her subpar across the board.
Ranged attack? You probably have to walk halfway across the map to get it and you slow down a ton when you charge it, so good luck using it at jungle gyms.
Vile purge? You can spend a bit of time getting everyone 1 shot, and then the survivors can soft reset the game and heal after 2 or 3 gens. You're also the worst killer in the game in a chase without Corrupt Purge.
All of her advantages come with such big disadvantages against competent players. It's really dumb.
Kinda like Demogorgan, just masses of counterplay built in.
Thats what people want Spirit and Pyramidhead to be like but when the 1 has such easy counterplay against the 4 that have comparatively little it leaves the killers in a weak spot.
-
Play low rank survivor and you will see why.
1 game I ran the killer around the map twice and not a single gen done.
Other game I used every single pallet on abbatoir except for shack and cow tree which had already been used and again not a single gen done. I dont mean insta dropping pallets either, I mean juking at windows and using stealth inbetween. I kept him chasing me though for the stun challenge.
Seems survivors dont want to do generators. 1 survivor had been sacrificed in each of these games so maybe at 4 gens remaining they just wanted to camp for hatch)
Low rank survivors are what holds back gen times
-
thick mist, coldwind, ormond as killer. Autohaven too for stealth killers.
hawkins, midwich as survivor

Spirit has no counter.
I was watching some of the tournament players from DBD. They have videos where they play 1 vs 1 and they run Spirits for minutes. That's plenty of time for survivors to do gens, do totems and escape. She can be evaded for more than long enough by good players.
Theoretically Nurse has even less counters since she isn't hindered by pallets or walls like Spirit but still people can juke her to keep her going.
-
I just checked. Apparently it was Freddy, Doctor, Myers, Hag and Leatherface all on the same day.
I got the game mid 2018 and I think those were on sale a few weeks later.
-
PC version is far from perfect. I got a new PC last year and it still can’t run DBD smoothly on low.
Few updates back (maybe last mid chapter?) they did something and now the game will randomly dip to what feels/looks like 20fps at the most random moments. Not to mention the hitches that occur when bloodlust kicks or sometimes when you swing at a survivor.
-
I envy these people who have a bad day of tunneling and assume something is up.
For me this sounds like business as usual 😕 no different to any other day
-
Its not too bad with botany and botany is an underrated perk. So many heals I’ve made just in time with that perk, and you can feel it eat into the killers pressure.
-
To a Bill who randomly handed me a purple key he found out of kindness, you are a legend and we dont deserve survivors like you.
-
Yeah but if you play solo survivor any that involve escaping are normally the hardest challenges to get.

I have to admit that my anger and frustration in these situations is often directed towards the killer. Wrongly so.
Its not the killers fault no, but I often feel salty with the killer if they still camp/tunnel in a 3 vs 1
If one survivor dcs quickly I try to play fair and 2 hook everyone before any sacrifices. That way everyone can get as many points as possible. I let last one have hatch too.
-
All perks used provide bonus points.
I think this is the “Derank but take you with me build”.

If we're using your logic then NOED is a punishment for survivors performing well. Since their only real objective is to do gens and totems are only an optional thing.
Came here to say the same thing.
Survivors taking a time out to do totems is like killers taking a timeout to chase someone else or leave slugged.
-
Sheltered woods is one of those maps where gens seem to go quite fast though. As survivor Hawkins is your enemy.
-
I saw people abusing this on stream against Blight last week. Guessing it isnt hard to replicate
-
Just a guess but I’d assume his low pov is to make him more intuitive to play. There are a lot of small objects in the game, short rocks on the Yamoaka maps for example, since Blight feels so small to him it looks like a wall he can bounce off, to a killer like Plague it looks like something she might stub her toe on. It’s going to be much more intuitive for players to see everything as a larger obstacle and possible bounce location.
Look at the screenshot in the video. To Blight the shack window looks like a location you can rush from. To Spirit its a gaping hole, you don’t see much of the wall underneath. It may feel jarring and unnatural to bounce from there if he had the same pov as Spirit. As Blight it looks like you’re pushing off from there with your whole body like a true wall bounce, as Spirit it looks like you’d just crack your knees on it.

Not trying to be an ass. You don’t like someone running Object, so you felt that deserved being tunneled out of the game. How does that make the survivor entitled?
Dude was wanting to be chased from the way he was behaving and clearly wanted my attention. He gets it and rage quits.
People like that run the perk to be toxic and annoy the killer. They get toxic back and they can’t take it.
-
There are more cheaters than people realize. Not all cheaters make it blatant by running at 500% speed.
Zubat had one on his stream not too long ago. A Laurie that looked like she was running permanent hope all game. He managed to catch her after cutting her off but that extra speed drastically changes all the loops of the game. Sometimes to an untrained eye people don’t see it. Hell I remember seeing a video on reddit of survivors literally teleporting across the map everytime they were about to be picked up and people didn’t know it was cheating.
https://youtu.be/U8Hra55TcTUNotice how the toxic Meg doesn’t make it blatant until the very end.
https://youtu.be/pUgFeLXN5C8Notice how the David keeps it low key so that even a guy with 5k+ hours isn’t sure at first.
The 5000% speed and instantly pop all gens hackers are extremely rare however the sneaky instaheal and slight speed boost hackers are not so rare. I’ve seen a fair few of the speed hackers in my 2k hours. Once you have enough time on the game you know when something feels off, like 3 survivors normal but 1 survivor makes your 115% killer feel like you’re playing Huntress on loops and it’s not latency. These people often have vac/game bans on record from other games too.
-
Had a game earlier with a guy that brought OoO on P3 Blendette. Him and his friend rage quit when I tunneled him out of the game.
Not sure what players like this expect to happen but it sure does stink of entitlement.
-
Ah I see you’re a newcomer to DBD.
Patches that break the sound effects in the game are a regular occurrence on all platforms. You’ll get used to it.

Yes, it can add two entire, additional generators before anyone is dead. Dead Hard can make chases last significantly longer, too.
Both have issues, and this post is about the issues of Pop. As you can see, it's very long. Adding Dead Hard to the post would be a nightmare. So, it's not included. Additionally, Dead Hard would need to be brought in by all four players, have them be injured without an instadown or an exhaustion hatchet, and have more than one hook until death. It takes a little more to get 12 Dead Hards to significantly extend a chase than it does to get Pop to significantly extend gen time.
Sometimes the killer will be so caught up they dont use pop, sometimes the nearby gens are already regressing, sometimes you hit a gen that doesnt have even 25% progress on it. Its not guarenteed that you’re always going to get the full value of Pop
Theres a lot of perks that give or take time on either side.
-
It takes 20 seconds off a gen. A Dead Hard for distance will possibly add that onto a chase and that can activate 12 times per game too.
-
Amanda's letter and All Seeing are rarer than green though.
-
I like how they spark when a survivor lets go. Its a nerf to Blendettes and Urban Evasion users.
Not sure what people are talking about with new gens. As killer they seem quieter but I think its the issue with how the audio works. If the game thinks its in a seperate room due to a wall near your camera then it goes extremely quiet
