Lot of threads saying "how Ormond is so survivor sided"
But no killer main has something to cry about shelter woods. Come on, 4 pallets, 3 jungle gyms ? The whole with nothing to loop.. every games on this map is already wasted except if killer is AFK. But "uhuu dis game s too much surv sidd uhh"

As a player with double the amount of hours on survivor as killer, I can confidently say this game is survivor sided.
I hate shelter woods simply for the fact it's just boring for both sides imo it's so ######### basic
Shelter woods is a very big map. Against no high mobility killer it's quite balanced. There's also a possibility to get a variation that has a long wall and a pallet in every jungle gym but also a possibility to get one where every jungle gym is L-T. It's a very rng dependant map for both sides.
I have often looped killers on shelter woods and got looped there as well. Yes it might be easier for killers, but it's far from an automatic loss for survivors. Ormond swings in the other direction. There is way to much for survivors to use, even a mediocre looper can chain pallets together easily, so many safe and/or unmindable pallets and jungle jumps with perfectly alligned windows. And it's so huge, if you are unlucky with the gens being finished, you lost the game as a killer even when still 2 are to be done, just bc you cannot protect them.
Most maps are survivor sided, it's just that some are so survivor sided that it is physically impossible to win as killer unless the survivors are really bad or you have a really good killer / get lucky
None of the rock loops are really that safe. They might not be bad pallets but they are Mindgameable and you don’t need to break them if you rlly don’t want to.
Thing is, if you know what you're doing--and I mean truly know what you're doing--shelter woods, lèrys, the game, even ######### midwich and hawkins, can be amazing for looping. If you have even half a brain cell you can get 3 gen chases on Ormond with ease (though I do only have a quarter of one, hence why I still die lol).
The ones that are short vertically usually have many trees which you can easily suddenly change direction as killer and catch the survivor. And idk what one is long, there’s only one longer loop I can think of and that is still quite short in comparison to standard loops.
Sheltered woods is one of those maps where gens seem to go quite fast though. As survivor Hawkins is your enemy.
The threads about Ormond come up frequently bc it´s by far the worst offender regarding imbalance favoring Survivors. It´s completely nuts, the map is huge, scratches are next to nonexistent and there are WAY too many safe pallets.
Next time you get ormond as survivor try the following: Throw every pallet immediately and force the Killer to break it (all but 1 possible pallet in the main building are 100% safe). Unless it´s nurse, spirit or hag, this approach will net you 3-4 gens worth of chase time without looping at all, 5 if your team doesn´t screw around.
Shelter Woods I agree would be the most Killer sided map in my experience. In comparion it still isn´t nearly as bad as Survivor as Ormond is for Killer.
At the highest level of play it is survivor sided. However it is definitely killer sided if the survivors are new or potatoes.
Shelter Woods is a map whose strength is determined almost entirely by RNG. It can be one of the weakest, or one of the strongest. There's not really that much else to say, except that even at its weakest gens are still easily doable thanks to its size and easily chained tiles, pallets notwithstanding.
Shelter Woods is only bad if your teammates are AFK and you get bad RNG. It's huge and you usually get st least 4 jungle gyms
