What Are Your Negative Offerings?

And i don't mean the Offerings that you never use because Bloodpoint Offerings are the best.

No, i mean the Offerings that, to you, actively work against you in the trial.

I avoid only Clear Reagents on my Wraith Bloodwebs for example, i want him to have as much cover as possible, and thus any thickening Reagent isn't a negative to me.

I also don't want to buy Scratched Coins & Cut Coins, because it means there's less incentive for the Survivors to go do something else besides repairing Generators. (I know, i know, they might not go for them at all, but removing them also removes the chance entirely.)

Shroud of Separation too, because it's Shroud of Separation.

  • Shroud of Separation is the one that comes to mind that can actively hurt you. The last thing you want is all four survivors spread around the map working on four different gens. They are much more time efficient if they do that and it becomes that much harder to pressure them as a group.

The Reagants and Coins are more neutral, they're not necessarily "bad" to use but their benefit, if any, is pretty negligable.

Technically with certain killers you may want to avoid using certain specific realm selection offerings I suppose.

  • thick mist, coldwind, ormond as killer. Autohaven too for stealth killers.

    hawkins, midwich as survivor

Yeah, the Shroud of Seperation is pretty much a "Plz genrush me" offering

    Worst killer offering ever.

Same thing for the Shroud of Binding for survivors.

  • Shroud Offerings are all generally bad for the side that plays them.

    • Shroud of Seperation (the only Killer Shroud): You DON'T want the survivors spawning spread out; it comes at the cost of a lot of your immediate map pressure.
    • Shroud of Union & Shroud of Binding: Excluding challenges/rituals which require coop action, survivors don't want to spawn together. It's less efficient and can easily result in the killer gaining a lot of map pressure.
    • Vigo's Shroud: Where do most killers look for survivors at the start of a trial? On the opposite corner of the map farthest from them (or near whatever gen spawned closest to that point). This shroud makes sure that whomever burns it IS that survivor. Which I guess is alright if you want to be chased, but I doubt the average player wants to be found so early in the match. It's also basically pointless if the killer spawned in a central location (though it could still result in being more likely to be found first).

This set of offerings should probably go on the list for things to send through the Reworkshop (though at least they aren't really unfair or game-breaking as they currently are, so maybe they aren't a priority).

  • Hidden offerings/Black Wards make the survivors panic and play harder than they usually do. I want my prey nice and relaxed.

"Better go back to sleep, there is no moon this night."

  • Any map offerings are bound to screw me by chance.

Thicken the mist offerings on most killers, cause I can't spot survivors for anything anyway. Why do I want to make it WORSE?!

Shroud of Separation. Why would i use this again? And why isn't there a Shroud of Binding for Killers? That'd make a little more sense. Especially if you have discordance.

Luck Offerings always seem to make people try to Kobe and don't really do much for you. They should totally affect chests.

The real benefit of shroud of separation, make everyone think you have a mori, bigbrain.

  • Petrified oak as a solo survivor seems useless on its own. Unless it’s stacked, there isn’t really much of an effect. Banking on other survivors to offer one as well rarely proves to pay off, not to mention expecting them to take hits and sabo hooks for greater chance of escaping.

Imagining the negative aspect would be newer survivors who don’t realize and expect the hooks to be distanced apart just enough when offering 1 of these to provide them time to wiggle free, where they plan a strategy that backfires when it’s revealed that the killer will still make it to most hooks from the location of a down.

  • Cut Coin is another. I want survivors to search chests! That's time they're spent not doing something else lol.

  • Shroud of Separation on killer and the Shroud of Union on survivor.

Killer: "Hmmmm. Let's have all the survivors separate at the START of the match!" Says the guy who plays a lot of Pig, Doctor and Legion.

Survivor: "Sure. I'll group up everyone so the killer can slap all of us at once! Boy I hope it isn't someone with an instant-down like Bubba!"

  • The shroud of seperation and the two survivor ones that make you start together. Seriously, their effects should be completely reversed. Survivors should have the shroud of seperation and killers the other two.

Also, fog offerings. More fog as survivor is good, but less fog as survivor or more/less fog as killer is bad for me.
