  • Wait 5-10 mins for a lobby and then it's going to have some combination of keys, OoO, or coldwind/ormond offerings.

I wasn't having fun. Then I learned to play in a troll way and it's actually a lot more enjoyable now :)

Dev must use the same reason to nerf PGTW with DS.

After down different survivors, but DS is still usable.

Difference is one is a survivor perk, so it's fine.

  • 100% it will get nerfed eventually. I wouldn't worry about it. Let the suckers pay for the dlc for a few months and once the next dlc is out they can nerf this combo into the ground.

  • Almost half of my games the past week have had a coldwind or ormond offering. When one side keeps using offerings for 2 specific realms it should tell you how unbalanced they are but nope, gotta go nerf killers first.

  • Pop OP, OoO is fair and balanced - BHVR interactive

Just admit it, it's all about the money. More money in keeping BS survivor perks strong.

The PyramidHead nerf is such a disgusting business practice. You knew you were gonna gut him but left him until you had suckered enough people into buying it. I might as well just go play an EA game if as a customer I'm going to be treat like dirt.

    @ClickyClicky

He is not dead, but I am willing to bet that players are now going to complain about how often he uses his power.

2.75 seconds was already not a long cooldown, so I am interested to see how low it is now. 😈

    2.25 - 2.5 I'm guessing.

  • The whole update sounds incredibly dumb.

    • PH gets a hit at a window = unbalanced, needs nerf
    • DH for distance against M1 killers = perfectly balanced, much counterplay.

If this delay is too long then while he's messing about pulling his sword out of the ground survivors will just be able to vault anyway and tbag you from the other side. His POTD will still be garbage because the aiming is too bad for it to be consistent. Why they compare him to Huntress I don't know when she has free aiming, unlimited range and her hatchets move faster without telegraphing the attack.

    • Blood pact is going to be annoying vs toxic swf groups. You know the ones, 2 gen jockeys, the object wanting your attention, and the one following them around all game with the flashlight in case they go down. Well now as long as they're within 16m they get permanent haste.
    • Thanataphobia. Why won't they tell us the numbers? this is going to cause people to hate Legion even more if it's high. He can injure so easily and now survivors are forced to heal or deal with a "forever" build. They should have reworked this killer first.

  • Next up on the chopping block is Spirit again I guess.

Did you not read the explanation that it's a lose-lose situation when he fakes his power? It has been a problem since his release.

Boo-hoo, Tunnelhead players actually have to use their brain now.

and yet dead hard for distance to a window/pallet vs an M1 killer is perfectly balanced and requires so much skill from survivors right?

    Oh wait....

I can tell you now survivors will be able to bait the window, have PH put his sword in the ground, then when he pulls it out but can't attack they'll just fly out of the window anyway.

  • Lmao he’s dead. I was wrong, the devs really do cater to entitled survivors.

  • @ZaKzan said:

now you know how killers feel about ds unbreakable and dead hard

This is it isn’t it. Just an extremely strong build everyone runs. While the top tier killers can overcome it often the low tier killers struggle to deal with all these meta perks and bad maps.

I can understand this build being overpowered in solo....but then lets be honest survivors never do totems. I play 2 man swf sometimes, we both run Inner Strength and both take out 2 dull totems early. If 1 other survivor did this then undying is a wasted perk lol as Ruin could never respawn.

I havent played against it yet and I can see it being a very dull build to go against solo but I feel like this is intentional to get survivors to do totems. I mean I’ve had plenty of games where I do 3-4 totems and NOED still activates because 3 other survivors are too lazy to do 1-2 totems between them. Then again maybe its the fact that theres no info so you never know how many are remaining that survivors dont bother. Who knows.

  • He’s so boring. They should just copy Plague. Legion has to injure over time with his power rather than an instant injure, survivors get heals somehow so they aren’t holding M1 forever, Legion then gets a new power.

  • I went against a Huntress earlier who got 5 stacks of Lullaby and nobody could find the totem.

I fee they’re either too easy or too hard. Out in the open like Crotus Penn or buried away behind things away from all objectives like in some of the indoor maps.

The Whattaboutism is strong with you, isn't it? You can't focus on what's at hand, you have to moan about everything else. Can't even provide a proper dialogue.

The desire to ignore the reason why people are moving to killers that you complain about instead of asking what's wrong with the older killers is strong with you.

Maybe if the other killers didn't have masses and masses of counterplay while survivors had relatively little then perhaps people would be more open to using the "fun" killers.

  • I'm barely getting any disconnects I don't get why everyone on the forum is having so many lol.

Why? Add a little extra turn control and a slightly faster shockwave speed and you've got a solid killer. No more brain-dead zoning, now the killer actually has to hit you with POTD instead of getting an m1 for free.

and then maybe they could go through and fix many of the maps so that survivors don't have any brain dead looping against the older killers anymore and have to use more skill? oh wait that will never happen.

Click your flashlight? that's a tunneling

    Tbagging at a pallet? that's a tunneling

Popping a gen in front of the killer? that's a tunneling

Bringing object of obsession? oh you better believe that's a tunneling.

What? One of the dumbest things a survivor can do is Dead Hard straight into a vault.

The counterplay argument goes both ways, you know. Killers who get off on camping and tunneling insist that survivors just git gud, but when the devs introduce perks to help mitigate campers and tunneler for just a few more seconds, killers lose their minds. Personally, when I play against PH, the only time I ever get tormented is 1) if I run through an invisible trail, because his trails are still bugged and don't show up like they're supposed to, or 2) I get randomly afflicted 30 seconds into working on a generator, which is also a bug. The trail is also wider than it appears, so the only other time it is even remotely frustrating is when he can drag it down 2 or 3 halls at one time, meaning that you can't go anywhere without guaranteed being afflicted, unless you want to crouch walk for a minute and a half to get down a hallway.

You can tell if you're gonna get hit when you vault, so you dead hard a little early which now gives you the distance to make the vault safely knowing you won't get hit while your hitbox was still in the window. You don't DH directly in front of the vault obviously as that would force the medium vault. If it's a strong window it hurts your average M1 killers really hard. No counterplay but it's on the survivor side so it's fine apparantly.

I don't complain about BT/DS. Yes they were overpowered when used offensively. My point was just that there is no counterplay to it. If a survivor is unhooked you let them run off and heal fine but some just sit on a gen in front of your face and then dive in a locker when you get close. It has no counterplay but apparantly no counterplay is only an issue when it's on the killerside.....even though some of these killers can be played around.

  • @Kbot22 said:

@ClickyClicky those are completely separate issues that need to be addressed in another thread. I say that the devs should balance on what is fun and I find pyramid head and spirit very unfun killers to verse simply because they ignore any sort of looping so that a rank 20 would still go down in the same amount of time as the best survivor in the game no matter what the survivor does.

Not true at all. Especially with PH. Watch a really good survivor and they will bait him and play around his hit. Check out the tournament where good survivors could avoid his hits.

Same for a Spirit. There's a huge difference between how long a good player lasts vs a rank 20.

  • Clown and Feng please.

  • Here's what bugs me here, it's the hypocrisy.

    • Play M1 killer and chase a survivor towards a window, survivor taps E for distance and now makes the window safely. Zero counterplay.
    • Play Pyramidhead and get the hit at the window "omg devs PH OP Nerf plz!!! 😫"

    • PH hits down a tormented survivor who has DS active and sends them to a cage "omg devs PH OP Nerf plz 😫"
    • Play any other killer, survivor sits on a gen in front of you, as soon as you get close they jump in a locker for immunity "fair and balanced 😎 just git gud babykiller"

As always all the counterplay needs to be on the killerside but it's fine for survivors to have none, even though it's a 4 vs 1. It's this blatant hypocrisy that is irritating.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

where's the " make him more fun to play as and against " part?

While I agree that PH isn't that good in his current state. I don't see these suggested changes making it to the game anytime soon. Survivors hate his ability because it leaves them with no choice. you either drop the pallet and get hit. or you keep holding W and also get hit. you either vault the window and get hit. or fake the vault and also get it. (excluding the free tunneling pass he has)

If anything. These changes will only increase the amounts of frustrated survivors asking for him to get nerfed.

    (okay. now my opinion)

I like the " Route B " idea (except for twice as fast activation time. maybe instead give him add-ons that increase the activation time. but not make it base-kit). but because of what i wrote above. I can't see it happening anytime soon.

So to Compensate I guess. We can slow him down and make him move at something like 90% while in his POTD mode. And increase the cool-down for existing that mode without attacking (POTD). this will eliminate the reason why survivors hate going against them. and hopefully make your suggestion possible.

lmfao 90% movespeed, might as well just delete him from the game at that point because he's dead.

  • 100% agreed and I say this as someone who goes against plenty of OoO swfs

  • PyramidHead is fine as is.

  • Low rank Spirits are really bad. They resort to good old "camp, tunnel, NOED" to win. They don't have the confidence to use her power in a chase especially if they try and have a few misplays. Spirit also takes prediction, thats why it's so easy to juke a baby spirit because you can predict her but she can't predict you.

I've said this before but a low rank Billy will do much better than a low rank Spirit. In general less experienced killers do better with ones that are 115%

This isn't to say she's as demanded as Nurse or huntress but she's definitely not a "anybody can pick her up and win" kind of killer.

I mean, Billy uses a CHAINSAW

Demo uses A POUNCE, his whole god damn body and a big arse mouth and claws.

    Blight.... uses a sharp cane....

A change he did not need. Pallets just became even more unsafe against him.

Raise his POV and call him S tier already.

Edit: Forgot to mention, his rush also breaks walls now.

    A sharp cane? it's a PIMP CANE!!

This. I mean, how hard would it be to just make sure the top Streamers can't be penalized this way, anyway? I seriously doubt Tru or Otz would be like: "I can now DC from matches with impunity unlike everyone else?! Let's do that every game!"

Are you kidding? That would be disgusting if some players were given free reign to disconnect while the plebs got the penalties. Especially when you consider the previous drama about an unnamed Fog Whisperer who used to disconnect to derank, or another Fog Whisperer who is currently involved in some drama and disconnects when their ego is at stake and is known to troll other players to bait disconnects.

  • Slow movement speed which hurts her on larger maps. Even if you use her power for mobility it only takes her x meters. If you use her full power for mobility then she has a full 15 seconds before she can use her power again. Everytime she makes the wrong read with her power shes on cooldown and chasing as a 110% speed killer.

Ahh ok yeah that makes sense but even trapper can shut down strong windows. Most are gone except for a few (crotus prenn). Nothing wrong with slinger having that ability too it's his oppressive chase power.

Lol if you try to shut down a strong window as Trapper thats the first place survivors are gonna look for a trap.

  • Eh Hillbilly can do it too but his attack is an instadown so it’s not outrageous for Blight to have this.

  • Clown doesn't get cucked by Dead Hard like Blight does so he's automatically more fun.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1636656#Comment_1636656

Slinger hard counters windows that's why you cant loop him at a shack. He shoots you and pulls you back into an easy m1 what are you talking about?

Actually it depends, some loops work hard against him. However I was referring to other killers. Why do people want to play other killers and deal with that? no they'll just play Slinger where they have more input in the chase.

  • lol what? I heard him say he thinks it's fine before, he commented on the perk but made no mention of SWF so I dunno whats going on.

Or maybe he's referring to blendettes in bushes which is also in dire need of a nerf.

Things I hate in this game..

    Toxic SWF with OoO

Rotten fields (I'm extremely corn blind)

Legion with thana, mangled and Ruin.

If I had to pick one? I dunno, I'll really struggle to pick 1 but those are the only 3 where I just want to quit as I know it's going to be a miserable time.

  • Yeah the other day I had a game where..

1 on hook, 1 slugged, 1 in chase - kobe

a few minutes later, 1 on hook, 1 slugged, 1 in chase - deliverance, and I chose to hook this one because I knew the other didnt have unbreakable but this one might, and on the end screen they did indeed have it so if I slugged them they would have got up anyway.

They managed to get all gens done through that. Just second chance after second chance resetting the game.

  • @Hopesfall said:

Is the Midwich issue where in the middle courtyard, there's a corner with a big pillar that has a pallet.. and it spawns with 2 pallets? thus making 2 completely safe pallets.

i had that happen yesterday, pretty garbage

    That’s intentional.

I’ve only played as Spirit and Clown at those pallets so its pretty much a death sentence for survivors to get trapped in there. Never thought about how it might affect other killers.

Ironically a lot of the pallets on this map are quite good for Clown. Shame you gotta just spam bottles down hallways to counter the hold W gameplay though.

  • Oh there. Yeah I had windows of opportunity there. Theres actually 5 pallets in the cluster.

In fariness I do think 2 were really unsafe? Either way theres a reason nobody wants to play the old M1 killers anymore. Gens are too fast to be messing about with that many pallets.

  • I'm still waiting for her to get her own realm.

  • You could remove 30 pallets from the map and just leave the remaining 20 and it would still be a very strong map for survivors but a little bit more fair.

  • @Clevite said:

Can you define toxic, it has very little meaning left on these forums.

It would be fun tho, if there was a mechanic that increased the chances to Kobe, like the more time spent in chase increased the percentage.

tbagging, flashlight clicking, genrushing, sabotaging, bodyblocking, emotes, going for the unhook early, going for the unhook late, pallet looping, using a window 3 times, looking at me funny, need I go on?

  • @malloymk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1638393#Comment_1638393

Yep. Played 5 killer games. 3 had an object.

And in general I've seen much more object of obsession users since crossplay. Maybe it's related, maybe it isn't. Still is annoying though.

Object usage has increased since Midwich I feel.

It got out how broken it was on that map and it seems a lot of people discovered how broken it was in general on any map. Its been far more common the past few months than ever before.

  • @The_Krapper said:

Dude I'm dead lmao this thread has me in tears

I’m right though, the more toxic you are as a survivor the higher the chances of being granted a kobe.

  • As survivor: Put with potatoes that can’t last more than 10 seconds in a chase. Killer just has to sit around hook, proxy camp, tunnel and NOED to win no effort required.

As killer: Much like the game is now, every game features either coldwind/ormond offerings, keys or OoO.

Also billions of second chances. 1 ok hook, 1 slugged, 1 in chase - kobe, 1 on hook, 1 slugged, 1 in chase, deliverance. Thankfully I didnt slug the one with unbreakable or that would have been another second chance. They managed to get all gens powered because no matter what I did they kept having second chance after second chance to reset the game. If only killers had that many second chances to reset the game.

  • Sometimes.

If like me everytime you let go of a gen it explodes then Technician can be useful. This seems to happen most when theres a bit of back and forth between you and the killer over a generator. If it activates twice it saved you 16 seconds of gen time, not too shabby.

Problem is both the explosions and technicians chances of stopping them are random.

As for sounds I’m not too sure.

  • The saddest thing about this is when you get a toxic swf with OoO just trying to annoy you, so you play scummy and they rage post game like they’ve been treated unfairly, like you’re the toxic one. Its so frequent now but listening to Almo on stream (he thinks the perk is fine btw) they judge perks based on solos and SWF is the elephant in the room. Same for totems.

The only upside to OoO is when you hard tunnel them out especially as PyramidHead because you can see their aura in a cage and then they disconnect 🤣

  • It gives the team far too much information, its used to be toxic, and the aura reading is completely in the survivors control.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1638121#Comment_1638121

Yeah it´s so dumb boasting about having the upper hand in chase. Most Killers can´t do anything about a good looper, especially at the start of a match when all 30 pallets are still up. Even worse, it´s 2020 and so many tiles don´t offer any possibility of gameplay other than run around it 3 times or more, move to the next tile, repeat., and that´s not accounting for strong windows.

Saloon, Hawkins and sometimes Springwood have nice setups. It´s actually possible to have meaningful input as Killer there. I´m referring to M1 gameplay of course, since that is the core of chase mechanics for most Killers.

Yeah I get new players looping a killer and feeling like they're esports but at 4000 hours like that twitch guy you would think they would understand the mechanics a little better.

  • @xerav said:

There is a simple solution to the swf problem:

Just stop playin fun / weaker Killers...

Learn Spirit / Hag / Nurse and play it every game :)

Pretty much this. I’m fed up of playing the weaker killers and having survivors burn BS maps, having killers that are underpowered against unbalanced maps and a billion second chance perks. Just the other day I won a game on haddonfield but had a 4000 hour twitch streamer bragging how they could “loop me for days”, I mean I broke chase a few times but I was using an M1 killer and they just ran safe pallet to safe pallet to Myers house. Like what do you expect? So long as you’re on the opposite side of a loop, pallet or window the M1 killers cant get a hit. Its the design of the game.

Aside from dailies which are painful I mostly just play Pyramid/Spirit now, two killers that don’t feel cucked by all the second chance perks or ultra safe loops and pallets.

  • So I go on hook outside the mothers dwelling house, and theres a Blendette on the top of it who starts doing the gen. She doesnt bother to unhook me even though she’s the closest. Clown comes along, throws one bottle at her and shes like “oh ######### I need some bait”, runs over to me finally with the killer in tow, farms me and runs off as Clown insta-tunnels me off hook and since blendy let me slip into second stage this was a death hook

Another one was a Blendette who I know for a fact did the least work that game. I had Bond so I saw her often hiding when others were doing gens. I go on hook since im the only one left trying to do the objective and I see her aura stood on hatch doing emotes motioning for me to give up on hook so she could get the hatch. I’ve never wanted the killer to find a survivor so badly.

This is why I hate Blendettes so much. They aren’t just annoying to killers they’re annoying to survivors too. As killer I have no remorse about playing scummy vs Blendettes.

  • Stretched res is even worse.

Filters tbh doesn’t do anything against your average Ace, Laurie, David, Dwight player, or your neon Nea’s or Megs. These characters are easy to see anyway

Its only used against Blendettes or one or two other characters that may have problematic cosmetics. Its actually more fair for the team to be honest. Know how many times killers walk past a Blendette crouching in the corner? And then another survivor takes the aggro because of it.

    • Predict it and bait him.
    • Many loops have the pallet where he has a straight at it one way, but an angle if you run it the other way. Dont run it the way that gives him the straight line
    • Hold W as much as possible, he has no counter to this and you will waste so much time
1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 63
