  • I thought this was going to be about the absolute state of killer right now.

    • Scratchmarks worst they’ve ever been
    • Sounds worst they’ve ever been
    • Aim-dressing actually making you miss hits
    • Impossible to do grabs anymore
    • If a survivor unhooks in front of your face the game actually locks on to the survivor you DONT want to hit....this despite a development team claiming there is no auto-aim

Yeah I dont regret giving this crud a negative review

  • I agree. Killer queues are like 5-10 minutes right now. All morning I haven’t had a single game that hasnt comprised of some swf with a combination of BS map offerings, keys or object of obsession. I just wanted a normal game but this is a joke right now. Can’t even get hook grabs this game is so busted lmao I grab a survivor on a chest and my game freezes for like 10 seconds then its like “nope” unfreezes and the survivor runs off no damage taken.

I’ve had enough. Just gonna run stridor spirit and iri head huntress now with ebony moris. Might as well join the toxicity.

  • Best: God windows nerfed, instaheals nerfed, first gen moris nerfed, bloodpoint codes, 2 perks per bloodweb

Worst: Old DS, Legion, Rotten fields, Mettle of man, Midwich/Hawkins

  • With Ghostface in the game? Lol no

  • Freddys overrated imo. Just play safe and and rush gens. Deny him the early hook before he gets his pop/bbq combo and it can really hurt him.

I’d like to see some changes to his terror radius/lullaby though to make him better to play as and against.

Firstly he shouldn’t counter Borrowed Time just by existing. The survivor shouldnt have to run across the map for an alarm clock before they can go for a save against a camping Freddy. Dont say “find someone else” because it might be hard to find other survivors at the time, they might all be asleep etc and failing skill checks is dumb and inconsistent, if you arent injured you cant fail a healing skillcheck, and you could sit on a gen 5 seconds before you get a skillcheck or you could sit on a gen for 50 seconds before you get a skillcheck. Freddy shouldn’t have free license to camp.

Secondly Object of obsession destroys him. If takes the mindgame out of every single pallet in the entire game. Dont say bring blindness add ons because you have no idea if you’re going against OoO or not.

  • Scratchmarks along with sounds have been iffy for years now.

  • Deathslinger has no counterplay cries the survivor as they sprint burst to the nearest broken window and run around it 3 times.

  • I wish they would change it. Nothing worse than playing survivor solo/duo and seeing a No Mither on the team.

  • @ZCerebrate said:

I agree with the OP that this challenge bred some additional unnecessary frustration for the average player than necessary (For killers having to play slightly more scummy and survivors who had to deal with HARD tunneling). I got it done in about 5~ matches using just Nemesis+Rancor and a bit of ingame manipulation to make sure people dying were obsessions even if it let a guy or two escape. Obviously this "was tunneling" regardless of if other people got downed too. I got called a slew of bad words for closing the hatch and letting the last guy struggle off my shoulder and pallet stun me just so I could down him again for an obsession rancor mori - was honestly surprised he didn't just DC during the Kill animation.

Reminds me of a previous rift. I think there was a challenge to kill someone with Rancor?

I was the obsession (always am with Rancor) and the killer finds me early and just follows me around all game waiting for the last gen to finish.

These challenges are dumb and bring out the worst tactics.

Press E to erase the killers mindgame, and pretend it didn't happen. five 15 trillion billion quintillion IQ play there.

Yeah I hate that. It makes killers feel less fun and less rewarding to play.

  • Myers

Enduring + Nemesis + PWYF + Corrupt (To slow the game down just a little bit)

    Judiths journal + Tombstone piece

You'll be able to get 2 kills everytime easily. Take the stun, stalk the hell out of them and harvest the PWYF stacks. 1st Obsession dead before any hooks. They'll often try to loop you and PWYF catches them off guard.

Using DH for distance requires the same timing as dodging, quit playing. If DH isn't skill, nothing in this game is; which still makes DH the closest thing to skill there is either way.

Like all too many SB/DH/Exhaustion "arguments", this thread declares the perks are broken because they allow Survivors to do X, without ever actually providing any rational reason why Survivors should never be allowed to do anything resembling X!!! The idea that SB is bad because apparently good Survivors should be hiding in lockers has gotta be a joke. Entity forbid SB lets Survivors do generators longer without giving killers a free hit.

I find it endlessly confusing that so many killers insist on making these arguments when there are WAY more killers perks you could claim are "absolutely broken" with logic that flimsy.

    lmao

"Do I have enough distance to make it to the pallet/window?"

    Yes - hold W

    No - Tap e

    So skillfull.

  • @Pipefish said:

I mean exhaustion perks are annoying but they take some skill to use effectively. Chases would end to quickly without them which would lead to more second hand meta. I rather they nerf DS and Unbreakable as they reward bad plays more then anything.

How exactly do they take skill?

    Sprint burst - hold run

Lithe - Look for nearest window

Balanced landing - Look for nearest drop

Dead Hard - Tap E for distance

The only one you could say is a well timed dodge with Dead Hard but most good players use it for distance which takes no skill.

Also no chases wouldn’t end too quickly. I spent hours and hours getting good. You can easily loop bad killers all game with no exhaustion perks, and last a good enough amount of time in a chase against better killers.

  • I’d rather they started to punish the AFK players. There are so many recently with 3 crows above their head. At least when one disconnects you get points for it.

If they get crows kick and give a penalty to them.

  • I ain’t even that fussed about DS when I play killer. You can play around it. Exhaustion perks are the worst perks to go against imo

Sprint Burst and hold W in a chase and you just got 20+ seconds of gen time for free, no skill required and no counterplay. Of course you probably already got your route planned and you’re gonna be holding W to the strongest loop on the map which is going to waste so much time against an M1 killer.

Same for Dead Hard for distance. If you have an M1 killer chasing you and you know you’re going down at the window you tap E for distance and you make the window which are often quite strong and again you just gained a lot of free gen time for your team. No counterplay. Its funny Iike to play PyramidHead because he can actually deal with this with his ranged attack but then survivors start the tears about no counterplay.....yeah you didn’t have an issue when you did that to my Pig or Myers who had no counterplay to your DH for distance.

  • I’d be hyped but can’t help but feel a sour taste over Jill being added. Rocket Jill was the nail in the coffin for Resident Evil Resistance. You think DBD killers have it bad you should have gone against this monstrosity at its peak lmao

Actually tru3 isn't good so don't use him as an example. You are biased, not to mention bad, if you think that getting genrushed has no counter. Its called slugging. You get at least three off gens. Learn how to play.

I don’t get how people keep repeating the Tru3 is bad line because they dont agree with him.

He doesn’t main anyone so yeah you can say “Umbra is way better with Huntress”, or “Jund is way better with Oni”

And yeah sometimes he makes bad plays, such as chasing when he should drop it, or ignoring information from perks he’s using. He doesn’t play some games as well as he could.

But to say he’s an outright bad player is ridiculous. Overrall he’s pretty good and tends to win most games anyway. How high is the bar set to be a good player? Is this the “every killer needs to make no mistakes” argument?

He says all the time he could slug but how its boring for everyone and he prefers chases and hooks. That’s what a lot of us prefer. None of us playing killer want to be slugging the team, but as we saw in the tournament even the competitive teams get obliterated as any killer other than Nurse when they can’t slug.

Eh.. the only big infinite (large time waste) left is mothers dwelling.

That was on my mind because that map keeps coming up lol

But I just played against a toxic meg who ran sprint burst and pretty much held W in every chase, temple of purgation so plenty of space to do it. Hold W except to vault shack and the temple windows.

then theres the tbagging at the exit and the verbal abuse post game.

I really could not care less anymore about the complaints about killers taking no skill. So much on the survivor side takes none at all. Not to mention the Badham maps which keep coming up where all you need to do is run to the school another hold W zone and you can easily get 30 second+ chases if the killer follows you there.

Yeah it feels like every survivor is running Boil Over & Tenacity.

Im really glad im not the only one thats experiencing it. Its consistent. Id post in the bug report but cant for some reason.

  • On the topic of bugged, is wiggling bugged for anyone else?

Ever since the hotfix it feels like everyone has Boil Over. If you even slightly approach an object as killer you get stuck. This never happened before the hotfix and now out of nowhere its started happening in a few games.

Come on man, we all know running around a truck or low pile of junk with 100% visibility of the killer takes 2000 iq to pull off.

Sprintburst to the nearest “infinite”. Esports level gaming right there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632786#Comment_1632786

Oh I read carefully. The fact is that most killers don’t have an advantage in chase because there are too many safe tiles.

I don’t care how good you are with DS, you can’t do anything except guess which way they will wiggle. Unless there is someone who can move the spear mid shot, it’s not happening lol.

Lol I just had a game as Pig on disturbed ward.

Survivor looks like they’re going to go down before they make the window, Dead hard for distance, out the window and around, out the window and around, out the window and around.

Then at the end another survivor injured about to go down before they reach the exit. Dead hard for distance and they make it.

But its spirit/pyramidhead/deathslinger that take no skill, its those 3 that have no counterplay.

  • As survivor I would take Corrupt and Pop over Ruin anyday. Ruin is Legion in perk form.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"Behavior said Billy was the most balanced killer"

They never said this. This was said by the community, but since 2017. A lot has changed since then.

Yeah I've yet to see the actual quote. Seems like an urban legend at this point until proven otherwise.

BHVR was happy with his design but he was overperforming. Removing the add ons so the chainsaw couldn't charge as quick, cooldown swing wasn't as quick, and giving him a limit so he couldn't rev forever was definitely the right direction to go with him.

  • Used to be Bloodwarden too but EGC makes it kind of pointless now.

Maybe Botany, it helps so much and I've pulled off so many last second heals with this. Bond too really useful information.

For killer I dunno because all the good ones are kind of meta.

  • Ok I had time to watch the video and it's not what I was expecting.

It's not what I could class as an offensive use of DS. This is more, using it carelessly.

    Here's what I consider offensive I'll use 2 examples I've seen...

    1) Survivor gets unhooked and runs to a nearby gen. The killer takes a swing, survivor dead hards, pops the gen, killer hits them, picks them up and DS. Or maybe they popped the gen during the DS stun. Can't remember the specifics, it was a hell of a play but also not neccesary.

    2) Survivor gets unhooked with BT, runs to take a hit for a survivor being carried to the hook (pointless since killer was too close to hook), killer hooks that survivor turns around and knocks this clown down, picks them up and DS. I think they were trying to waste the killers time but with only 1 gen done so far it was a bad play.

My stance as a killer on the locker play is this...

If I see a survivor who has only just recently been unhooked all I'm looking for is a quick slug if I can get it. If there are 2 survivors and I don't think I can slug the guy in under 10-15 seconds I break chase because whats the point when I might not get a hook for it? however some survivors just straight to the locker even if you're not looking at them. Well you just took the chase right out of it and made it easy, and a lot of survivors are bluffing and don't even have DS so you just handed me a 50/50 shot of either a free hook or taking away your DS. Had you kept running I would have ignored you. If I'm not feeling pressured for time then yeah I'll pull them out.

That's me though. There are some players that are determined to tunnel no matter what DS or no DS. Locker makes no difference to these guys because they're gonna pick you up and eat the DS anyway, might as well just run and waste as much time as possible.

  • Very tough choice

    Delete Legion

    Fix Ghostface

Change NOED and some exhaustion perks

    Change OoO

Remove some of the extreme RNG (strong windows closed everytime I play survivor but same windows always open when I play killer)

All those came to mind. Very hard to pick 3.

  • Ruin and Pop makes sense, Ruin, Undying and Pop seems like overkill. Your totems should last long enough that you could take 2 other perks.

Whispers is good as it means you won’t waste static blast, corrupt works better than pop with undying, ruin since if you get a large map like red forest you can pressure the eary gens for Ruin to take effect.

Passive aggressive and arrogant are two completely different things. I'm arrogant, not passive aggressive. Please use the right terms. This is why you consistently lose arguments to the point where you bail.

In any case - of course they can manipulate their ping. That's why it's called a "lag switch". I'm saying that it does nothing for them, other than make it so 2 people aren't on generators (in the event that someone comes to revive them). Even then, you can only "lag switch" for a maximum of a few seconds before the server drops connection with you entirely. So you're greatly exaggerating what can be done with a lag switch on a *centralized dedicated server* as of right now.

I don't think you should criticize other peoples attitudes, and throwing personal attacks after such a long vacation. It's not a good look. Especially when you can't differentiate arrogance and passive aggressive behavior. Though, perhaps text makes it hard to tell; and I'm only arrogant because, well, it's easy. You guys boost my confidence literally that much (thanks, btw <3).

That’s a long-winded way of saying “you were right”.

As I said - you have no clue how networking works. Nobody said streamers had perfect internet. I merely told you how internet works. Instead of dying on that hill, admit when you're wrong. Telling you you're wrong and why isn't passive aggressive. It's called education, bud.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632796#Comment_1632796

It allows them to be picked up? But...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632766#Comment_1632766

    https://media.tenor.com/images/e6133c827fa9510bf6ff67a06675b80a/tenor.gif

It can't just make them impossible to pick up for the killer, unless the survivors are on the same local network (even then, the lagswitch would have to be network based instead of locally initiated). Everyone is connected to a centralized dedicated servers. What would affect a killers ability to pick them up would also affect a survivors ability to heal them. Otherwise it's just them on the ground dying, cause the bleed out timer doesn't stop.

Carefully debate with yourself whether or not you'd like to continue. You make this way too easy.

Why do you have to be so passive aggressive about everything?

They can manipulate their ping at any point. Thats why some cant be picked up whereas some can but cant be hooked. Depends when they flip it.

Their ping is fine, they go down and it jumps to 1020ms, their friend comes to pick them up it returns to normal. Thats why they have normal ping when running but high ping on the ground because they can manipulate it at any point.

I had video evidence and sent it to the support site and the guy got banned.

You argue and get passive aggressive so much, really looks bad on you when you have no idea what you’re talking about.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632766#Comment_1632766

It also doesn't allow them to be picked up by team mates. Therefore, it gives them no real advantage.

It was a good try, though.

What do you mean “a good try”?

and yes it does allow them to be picked up, because they dont let out when their friends come to pick them up.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

Firstly - hackers *are not common* on PC. They exist, but in over 4k hours in DBD, I've seen maybe...5?

Secondly, lag switching isn't PC exclusive. Plus, the game is on dedicated servers. A lag switch only serves to hinder the person doing it.

Lagswitching makes survivors impossible to pick-up/hook.

  • Yeah I see survivors do this and I hate it. 1 gen done and they use their DS offensively. Well now the killer is gonna be annoyed and knows you dont have DS so congrats you’re gonna be tunneled out and considering how slow gens are in solo survivor you just threw the game for us since you’ll be tunneled out pretty damn fast. Morons.

  • He's overcompensating due to small-man syndrome.

  • @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1631830#Comment_1631830

I would wager that pyramid heads power is actually one of the most useless abilities while the survivor has free movement. It is telegraphed and slow with a loud noise to make sure the survivor knows that he used it.

The only thing he has is catching a survivor stuck in an animation, and even then Press E to outplay (dead hard) will save you

This. Not sure how people can complain about so much on the killer side when press E to outplay exists.

  • I’m getting way more afk players than disconnecters these days. I’d rather they clamped down on that.

  • knew it would be this one before I even clicked lol.

Another contender would have been the old lighthouse totem upstairs on blood lodge.

Nah not necessarily, not everyone plays in the laziest way.

Whenever I play killer, I always go for a lot of chases and hooks.

Hook someone and straight go for the next one, i don't tunnel, i don't camp and never use noed.

So it's not "people always play in the laziest way"

The only time I go for the unhooked person is when you unhook that person right in my face and I know you don't have bt, and that is only to punish you for doing that.

I leave that person on the ground and go for the person who did the unhook.

Some people definitely do. You even see iri head+infantry belt huntress players camp hooks. Doesnt matter how strong a build you give them, they’ll always take the route that requires the least effort.

Anything else? Whack-a-mole is fun. Especially with you.

Actually it was you. As always if you disagree with someone they must be bad at the game.

Thats all you do. Accuse people you disagree with of being bad. You always turn the debate into something personal and then start blowing your own trumpet about how smart you are. I wish you could block people on these forums.

I don't need to get over myself. You literally couldn't counter a thing I said. As per the norm.

I rest my case. Hope you enjoyed your vacation. You came back, and truly, didn't learn a darn thing. :)

Says the guy holding a grudge from months back. Its not healthy dude.

  • You do realize that if DS was to be a true anti-tunneling perk the skill check would have to go right? Afterall what use is a true anti-tunnel perk if it fails? It would have to be on button press.

  • Only issue I have with Spirit is that for 99% of them it’s tunnel and NOED.

The most tryhard builds. Stridor Spirit with Ruin etc but it always comes down to tunnel and NOED.

As soon as you unhook *wooshing sound*

Just shows no matter how strong a killer is people will always play in the laziest way.

Just make BT activate within 32m already. Make her have to run a bit further, stop stealth killers from having easy camping.

Clicky - last time you tried to start something with me, you ended up cowering after I called you out. Best not do it again. I'm better at your own game than you are. It's impossible for you to bait me like you bait everyone else.

Especially since you're one of the very few people who thought Billy needed a nerf. But yes, it was "everyone else that was wrong, not you".

See? Easy. Almost too easy. Now run along, and troll someone you can outwit.

Lmao you’re dreaming. Nobody ran from you, in fact im pretty sure I proved you wrong.

and stats said Hillbilly needed the nerf. We will have to wait and see for PH

    Get over yourself

  • Just find a build that Nemesis or Furitive chase fit into and then play as normal. That way you get multiple obsession kills per game.

For example, Myers works well with Nemesis if you bring Judiths Journal add on. Everytime they stun you, you’ll be able to get a lot of stalk from them, especially if you have enduring too.

  • Yes it’s everyone else that’s wrong, not you.

  • You used to hear breathing but aside from Meg its all basically muted now. Stridor used to reveal it really well but again you can still barely hear it now.

  • It sounds good at first but its kind of pointless for solo survivor because your ability to win depends on other people, and for killers its just more reason to run the meta (hard tunneling NOED spirit etc)

  • This is just another ordinary day on the EU servers.

Bro stretch isnt cheating ussylis made a whole clip about it. It only shows you more terrain not the killer.

I've seen it all now. Plays Claudette with OoO and purple flashlight, click clicks at the killer, defends stretched res.

How can you say these killers take no skill? sprint burst to nearest god loop, run around it again and again, use stretch res so the killer can't mindgame any pallets.

Yeah maybe if you have 5000 hours you can take the low tier killers and win against those kind of teams but it's still a huge disadvantage. Why do killers have to have all the skill and so much counterplay when survivors need comparatively none and have little to no counterplay in some situations?

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 63
