I use spine chill every game as I'm deaf in 1 ear and losing hearing in the other so I am struggling to hear most terror radius so is effectively giving me a new sense to make the game playable (i can hear a voice on the start up screen now but all I hear is "meh meh meh meh" but I know it's 4 syllables 😂 . I think it can easily do without the action speed boost as it feels cheap to me at least a little when you have other perks that speed up some actions like prove they self and the unhooking one I forget it's name. The killer has multiple aura reading perks as do survivors so I think it's fine. I used dead hard once for an archive 😂 never again I'm useless with it 😂.
DbD mobile doesn't have a standard TR. The survivors literally have visible hearts that visually mimic the TR effect.
You could make a suggestion to add at that feature as an accessibility option.
After all, we got bots from mobile as well.

Yeah, this was my biggest zombie complaint on the PTB and I'm surprised they haven't done anything about it. A zombie blocking a doorway in a chase, or a zombie wandering down the basement stairs or through the doorway of a closed-off room or gen, is instant death. You can't tank a hit because you can't bypass them. Nothing else in the game behaves like this - it feels like an oversight.
They didn't touch it because otherwise it might've made the game implode, considering the broken update we've already got.
-
He's solid B-tier imo. He really needs corrupt and stbfl. Once you get in t2, you're pretty much gtg. The key is too manage your contamination, very much like you manage infection with Plague. Don't chase survivors through two speed boost. Get t2, get your stacks, snowball.

Panic attacks and heart events are not situations for which you should seek a solution on a gaming forum. Consult your physician. Health first. Gaming can wait.

Also hope you wont get Coldwind where these traps will be visible from 20m
But seriously, this is a bug right?
If I were a betting man, I'd say with the visual update of the killer, they gave him a new trap model, as clearly visible in the picture. However, for whatever spaghetti code reason, the tar bottle model is running in place of the default one.
-
Technically, the survivors are still alive until the full sacrificial animation plays out. It works like that for other game purposes as well, such as the hatch. Do you mean that you can't switch to Victor when nearby the hook during that time frame, or also after the animation is over?
-
Use your best killer with good addons, Trapper's teachables and a fourth perk, then go to a favorable map, play at a time of the day when games are softer and lobby dodge if necessary. I can't make it easier than that.

so you don’t have trouble with Flashlights, Flashbangs or firecrackers?
Seems like it would make more sense to give an accessibility option to change the blinding effect as there are also people with epilepsy that have trouble with it. Maybe make a toggle setting to make it completely black instead of the light?
An accessibility option would be in order. Fairly easy solution and it would have no effect whatsoever on game balance.
@MandyTalk can you kindly forward this suggestion to the team?

Correct. The vfx is there to tell you the ability is ready. When you trigger main event, an animation will play out where the Trickster draws his knives and then start throwing.

I'm on mobile right now, so I'm having some difficulties. If you check the official twitter, the patch notes are linked in the recent tweets.

Probably to offset the fact that you gain mutation by whipping contaminated survivors now.

Do his emblems work correctly, or are they bugged like Trickster's were?

The map has mutated due to the T-virus and it has now escaped BHVR's control.

Don't worry. Optimization will come in 5 years.
-
With this patch, they seem to be focusing on new players. I suppose these bundles are meant to be less intimidating for the new blood coming into the game.
-
Congratz! Sometimes, the Entity is just generous... for its own agenda...
-
Because the patch before this one they went more in depth thinking they fixed something, only for the players to do a better test job than BHVR did minutes after release.
If you stay vague, at least you can bend your narrative as needed.

Wait. So, no minimum Zombie patrol distance from hooked survivors?

I have yet to be pounced on or pounce on someone while running around a generator attached to a tree or some equivalent, because by the time Victor is charged the survivor is on the direct opposite side of the object and cannot physically be hit.
You gotta come over to the EU. Our Twins players are cracked. All 3 of them.
-
@MadLordJack said:
Unless you want to spend the entire game facecamping and eventually mass slugging people, Twins are terrible. Just hop in a locker and the killer can't snowball, run around small objects and Victor can't hit you, pair up from the start and Victor can't down you, and they're still super weak against the generic second chance meta.
But apparently it's only the survivors that I go against that know any of this and everyone else just gets potatoes that never heal and split up.
You can pounce survivors around any small and medium object. You don't even need add-ons. You must not aim directly at their model dead center, but toward the outside. The hit cone is very generous and will get them, almost like a Blight hit. You can also run ahead to briefly bodyblock them to buy time to charge up.
@[Deleted User] said:
Only those premature players thought they were weak at PTB/release. It doesn't take much to realize the potential of Twins: insane area control, huge camping and slugging potential, Victor is basically a 150% shred-only Demogorgon, etc. It isn't even debatable anymore that they are high A material.
There was nothing premature about saying they were bad in the PTB. They were outright atrocious. All survivors needed to do when chased by Victor was to hop in a locker. That was it. He couldn't interact back then. And he could even be kidnapped indefinitely.
Maybe that stigma carried over at release when Victor could actually pounce through lockers, even though I remember the Twins being used in tournaments almost immediately.

This was about a week ago. One of these players had 31 ping in game (not just in the lobby). The other one had a better gaming chair.

Technically, the hit validation is "supposed" to favor the player with the lower ping, if the killer has a higher ping, the hit shouldn't register if on your screen you're far enough, but hey this is DBD, the word "technically" doesn't always apply! xD
According to the devs it just checks if the hit was unfair because there was too much discrepancy between players' positions on the respective screens. But the survivors specifically don't get favored just because they have better ping. It just seems to check if the hit was 'unfair' because the killer's ping is too high and the survivors' much lower. But if they're both high, that gets validated no problem.
Two observations:
- much of the system is based on how permissive the parameter is for the killer's latency. And we weren't told what that is set at. Consider that when explaining bad hits, a dev during an official stream said 150 is "pretty good ping". Which is nuts by any stretch of the imagination. If vpn'd directly to a server across the globe, you'd get about 300 ping. Which'd be considered mediocre, judging by the devs' metrics. Just by that we can infer that even if the system is in place, it's just incredibly lax and it maybe blocks actual lagswitchers with 500+ ping. But simple vpn'ing remains unaffacted, unless you connect from the moon.
- There's a bug where sometimes players from a region are getting lobbied up on a wrong servers. A couple of months ago I was playing killer and the whole lobby was EU, but we all had 250+ pings and all fairly similar. None of my hits were rejected. Survivors post game accused me of vpn'ing, but then I just told them to check their pings. That's to reinforce what I said earlier.
-
Survivors have been making a little grunt on slow vaults ever since I can remember. It's just that since the last chapter or around that time they made that sound much louder. Chalk it up to the usual changes nobody ever asked for but they pushed on us anyway.
-
Because most people can't accept to lose. They can't process the fact that however they want to play, their mmr will rate them accordingly and put them in matches were they'l, win some and lose some. They want to win when they're sweating and they want to win when they chill. And if you want to only win when you chill, then you're not really chilling. You literally want easy games.
@gilgamer said:

You can play chill and still win at least somewhat consistently if you are just good at the game with sbmm if you continue wanting to win you will have to play more sweaty or just continuously going on streaks of losing and winning. There is a reason that actually competitive games have casual and ranked playlists.
^case in point.

But you can't really prove it unless you are also streaming
Even if you can prove, Twitch might turn a blind eye. I reported a streamer who had on their YouTube account (advertised in their Twitch channel) recent videos a whole compilation of people they streamsniped with clips of both sides and name listed out. The video openly admitted to streamsniping.
I made a detailed report including all the self-incriminating evidence.
What came of it? ######### all is what came. They've been made partner later on afaik. If not even a smoking gun is enough, then nothing will do.
When it comes to streaming in live game, it's 100% a do-it-at-your-own-risk thing.

Did OP not stop, at any point during that entire essay, to realise that both Small Game and Detective's Hunch are in the game already? Counterforce isn't even the best option for anti-totem.
I don't think the OP realized.
Counterforce is not a totem hunt perk. It's an anti thrill of the hunt perk, where it can help cleansing hexes before being interrupted.
Other than that, the aura duration and location are a ######### and an egregious noob trap. Big time waster and carries a significant risk of being found by the killer while doing laps of the map.
The only way Counterforce is bad for the game is for the survivors, because there will be one person playing very inefficiently.
All other anti totem options already in the game are superior to CF.

But huntress is free though
It's not so much a case of free characters. There's a bunch of Huntress mains among the devs. I'm not joking. You're definitely not dreaming when you see a double standard.
Iri head was gonna be nerfed anyway. So, that doesn't mean much. The exhaustion add-on she kept is basically meant to be anti dead hard. She kept charge and cooldown addons (rip Billy). She even got new strong addons with the flight speed ones.
Her add-on pass was a net buff and there's a clear double standard.
Her basekit wasn't touched. Again, double standard.

You see I love that answer actually. Although I wouldn't say I'm trying to get 100% easy wins. To me a games in dbd that I enjoy are chill games, where it's not a high chance I'll win and not a low chance I'll loss. It's hard for me to explain, but some will get that. Basically where both sides can have fun without sweating.
That aside I absolutely adore your response. Wish more people I talk to could be like you. Hope we could have another convo about some other topic in the future.
Thank you and have a great day.
Hey, much appreciated. I'm glad for once I could convey a sense of positivity, which is not always easy in written form over the Internet. With that being said, you have a great attitude. This community needs more of that. Now, let's just hope mmr improves the game.
-
It's not about having easy survivors as some players would think. I just don't understand why I have to try and sweat just to play my main
I'm skeptical about the implementation of the mmr. However, what you describe is easily avoided. If you constantly 4k with your main, you'll start getting better survivors, rightfully so, and you DO will have to sweat more. The easier survivors are not skilled enough and they don't deserve to be outmatched just because you want to relax (and neither does a new killer against pro survivors, for the record).
If you want to avoid the issue altogether, just kill 2 and let 2 escape. Even if bhvr didn't give us the details of the algorythm, we know that 2k2e is their balance goal and you're almost assured that your mmr won't go up, keeping you at a sweat kevel you're comfortable with.
For everyone in general, so not targeted at you, if the argument is that one doesn't want to sweat but wants to 4k still and mmr will prevent that scenario, that gets no sympathy from me. It just tells me that someone wants easy wins and wins 100% of the time. Which in turn makes me support the mmr, if it worked (big if).
-
Run DS/UB/BT. When the killer post match cries about your second chance perks, just thank them for allowing you to get value out of a build that otherwise would do ######### all if the killer wouldn't do what you described in the op.
Now go, young padawan. You're empowered.
-
Survivors are not obliged to rescue each other. We've all been in your shoes. Brush it off and just move on to the next match. Your score was almost double theirs even without the 7500 bp from the hatch escape. You won big time in my book.

If that's true, then that's terrible design imo. Revealing him shouldn't be so easy that it could be accidental but he shouldn't have to fully take up your screen either.
Remember that the survivor model counts as a LoS blocker and will stop the reveal. And guess what's in the center of a survivor screen? Yep. I guess someone at BHVR didn't really think that one through.

Do you have to hit them together with a single puke?
You have to hit 2 survivors with a single discharge of corrupt purge, twice in a match.
If you did it but didn't get credit, then do another challenge and go back to that one later. This usual gets the stuck challenge unstuck.
-
The best way is to understand well how the emblem system works and what it's requiring of you to pip up.
In general, you need to do at least a little bit of everything. Do a gen, get a safe rescue, be chased for a little bit and try to stay alive up to 9 minutes. That covers the basics. Anything more than that will push you into pip territory. Maybe a little bit more gen work (totems and gates count as well), another rescue (or bodyblock for survivors being carried to a hook), and hopefully escape as well.
If you play solo, run perks that in general cover your weaknesses. DS, BT, SB/DH and a wild card is a good starting point. Bring a medkit.

Thing is, Victor can be removed while running around a loop and dropping pallets... vaulting also isn't prevented by Victor being on you either. It's not the same thing as Deep Wound where you need to be standing still to mend.
I've played Twins more than enough to know how their power works. The survivor will stand still in animation when the bar is full. And whenever they stop the action before filling the bar, then the progress will reset. So, they can't even 99 it for the perfect moment.
You can loop with Victor. I said that much. But you can't remove him while looping, even if you drop god pallet. If you try, you'll go down.
-
This would be old Legion all over. Attach Victor and chase with Charlotte. The survivor either crushes Victor and gets locked in the animation, getting downed by the sister. Or, they loop and go down anyway after 30 seconds.

If I see someone with one or two ######### perks, I might think they're using a new character, but they're not new players.
When I see they're also brown ranks , then I have the confirmation they're indeed new players.
And when they're matched against my rank 1 2.4k hours killer main Billy, I will also know that the matchmaking test failed.
See, hiding ranks would work against the experiment.
-
In theory, the mmr has been being determined in the background for months and the rating doesn't decay. So, you might've just happened to have a good score and you got matched accordingly. In theory.
By the looks of it, you were going in hard and certainly your rank is not reflective of your actual standing. So, whether or not the matchmaking worked by design or by accident, this match in itself looks fair on the surface.
