There's a hook on the new map that the killer can perfectly bodyblock and there's no way past them to save

That's why he loves it.
OP said he loves the perk because of the distance it can give you and that he's been using it with perks like Mettle of Man and COH

"Here's a question for you people who hate 'W holders'. What do you want them to do? Commit to the closest loop? "
As a hater of "W Holders", survivors committing to the closest loop is exactly what I wish to see.
I am from a time when the absolute majority of the cast could be looped in the regular manner.
And I would've liked if it had stayed that way.
But then again, that is just me.
Hey if that's your opinion, I respect it
The playstyle you mentioned has only gotten harder with the invent of our favourite anti-loop killers who punish animation locks the hardest but if you find that the more engaging thing to see then I can respect that for sure

Ok fair. But you get what im saying, theres a tangible thing you do that makes you feel like the perk has impact. Lithe lets you get away from a loop safely, Head on lets you stun the killer, dead hard lets you dodge a whole heap of stuff, etc. Overcome just makes you sprint burst on hit. It doesn't even have the potential strategy of actual sprint burst, you just kinda... go faster in whatever direction you think wastes the most time. Thats it.
To me, it's an anti-deadzone perk in a similar vein to Sprint Burst. The problem with Sprint Burst is that it's easily wasted by smart killers who know you have it. With Overcome, the killer has to hit you for it to go off which is why I think it's a solid perk because it activates when you will likely need it the most
Same with good ol' dead hard.

I personally think the problem is map design. On maps like Coal Tower, Rancid Abbatoir, Wrecker's Yard etc holding W will eventually led the killer to your teammates who are doing gens, so looping on those maps is usually the better choice. It's not really the survivors players to blame.
A completely fair response, I agree with you. Maps are at least partially to blame for the playstyle becoming more prevalent.

You're a fan of... holding W...? Don't get me wrong its a great perk, but i fail to see how anybody would enjoy the perk. Compared to the joy of outplaying a killer with lithe, or head on, or deadhard, overcome has no tangible dopamine hit. Its very boring.
Alright I'm gonna engage in a bit of snark here, forgive me
Ahem
"Outplaying the killer with dead hard? You mean pressing the E key?"
-
I'll never understand people stigmatising 'Holding W' aka running away from the killer
I get why people dislike it, why they think it's unfair or "has no counterplay" but the thing that enables survivors to do it (Post hit speed boost) has been in the game since the very beginning I believe and the maps have only (more or less) gotten a bit more balanced over the years
Here's a question for you people who hate 'W holders'. What do you want them to do? Commit to the closest loop? Waste their speed boost on an animation lock (Which a lot of the killers punish heavily)? Like what do you want?
imo the real problem isn't holding W, it's that chases can take too long making committing not worth it but sometimes you have no other option. It's a lose lose

Terribly designed perk with no counterplay that encourages holding w. Hope is gets removed along with dead hard soon.
god forbid they add perks that encourage survivors to run away from the killer
I get why people hate Dead Hard but Overcome isn't as ""cheap"" come on.

Blight playing the game without "exploits" is actually stronger than playing with exploits as going for flicks is generally riskier than using solid bump logic. I never had an issue playing against the flicks because they had reliable counterplay and pulling it off was much more punishing than making him just whiff a standard rush.
Are you defending lag flicking or
Because that's mainly what my post was making fun of ppl for using, although it is kind of funny how it's always blight mains who find some way to exploit
-
In fact, there's a very serious question hovering over this whole thing now
How are steam players going to report Epic players if we won't be able to open their profiles/get a Steam ID?
Follow up tickets need Steam IDs
-
Yes
It's free to keep, meaning all the cheaters who've been banned can just use their epic account to claim the game and go straight back to cheating
at least before they had to buy the game again or use family share (which also carries risks of their other acc being banned as well). Now there's no such risk
-
Blight mains play the game normally challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
In all seriousness, I imagine it'll be fixed in idk - another chapter's time? If we're lucky
-
I enjoy posting on these forums way more than I should
-
You mean the thing that's been labelled an exploit and will likely be patched out in the next year or so
I don't think it's bannable at the moment but it's def been labelled an exploit so it's only a matter of time until it's gone
-
Either a Vampire (Oni doesn't count!) or another non-humanoid killer.
-
Hard to say ngl, I think about this sometimes
On the one hand when I'm playing survivor I'm nowhere near as focused as when I'm playing Killer and I often make more mistakes when playing survivor
On the other, I would hate to go against a survivor like myself because my playstyle when playing survivor is one that is likely to cause frustration. Not in a toxic way, I just play safe a lot of the time and try to maximize time waste
I've played more survivor than killer, but I think my experience with survivor would help me when playing killer too so it's hard to say.
If forced to bet, I'd put money on my killer.

Thanks, good to know. I kind of thought it would be like using a locker to avoid tombstone Myers.
Yeah if you can fast jump into a locker when you hear the little humming sound that plays when Pinhead picks up the box from the floor, you can avoid the scream/the chains that instantly grab you. It's a neat little trick I've not seen anyone talk about. Probably because it's so circumstancial. Cool tho!
-
It behaves as if the cenobite grabbed it, it skips the animation basically
It still does the little jumpscare and initiating the chain hunt as usual.
HOWEVER - a random bit of trivia for you, if they are in a locker when you pick up the box, you do not scream or get instantly chained.

Good thing I didn’t call it bad then i guess.
Yeah I believe you but it seemed like you were implying it was bad/a bad stereotype for some reason. (Despite not having read it like you said.)
I read Jonah's backstory and yeah I get why people might not like it but it's not offensive or stereotypical IMO.

Yeah but Mexican characters especially in American media are often portrayed as bad people.
as i said i haven’t actually read it
I mean no disrespect when I say this, but calling a characters lore bad without having read it is kind of silly.

It doesn't double objective points, it doubles all coop points which includes altruism.
Yee, you know what I meant
ppl use it to stack up on gens and get double points from it basically. It applying to altruism is nice

Him being the first male Latin American/mexican(?) survivor that is also involved in war crimes somehow..
actually I haven’t read it yet but only heard of it.
I think it’s not the worst thing they could have done but it’s still a little bit concerning..
What's your point? People from all walks of life can be bad people or involved in bad/unethical practices
The fact that he, much like Yun-Jin, is bit more morally gray of a survivor makes them far more interesting than the likes of some of the others.

Trickster is just a KPop star and looks the way. But for neither is sexual orientation, gender or anything confirmed at all.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2662957#Comment_2662957
BHVR gets support from consultants to avoid using bad stereotypes unintentionally. And looking at how some of the lore was written (eg Legion tome or now Jonah’s backstory) maybe them getting support on that front may not be too bad..
What's wrong with Jonah's backstory?
-
No, people run it because it doubles the amount of objective points you get meaning you get more points while spending less time on gens since objective can be hard to max out if you're being chased a lot or if everyone's being efficient.
Makes sense bc double BP
-
I wish more perks helped against the S tier killers like Nurse and Blight
Dead Hard is one of the few that actually do, so whenever I'm facing them constantly I feel the need to use it

i have a question to ?
Does 2X Bp doubles the bp rewards from completed tomes challenges as well ?
Afraid not, as those are static amounts that you're given when you claim it
The multipliers apply only to BP gained from your matches and it's applied at the end of the round
-
While it's not permanently free on epic, it is permanently free to keep for the accounts that claim it
BHVR doing this, in the midst of the game being riddled with cheaters is so tone deaf. They acknowledged the DDOS issue but no acknowledgement of the rampant cheaters?
What's it going to take to get an answer, BHVR? Is the game going to need to be filled with EVEN MORE cheaters to the point where your support team simply can't handle it anymore?
I predict with this free epic thing - we are going to see the amount of cheaters triple overnight. I hate to be pessimistic, as I always try to think the best but this is just ridiculous.
-
Yes, they absolutely do
Have fun!
If you bring 100% increased BP offering and bbq, you'll get upwards of 100K ish BP per match, possibly more

My problem with NOED is how it conditions the gameplay of those who use it. What do I mean by this?
I often find that a lot of killers who bring NOED will try to camp/tunnel the first person they can out of the game to give them the 3 v 1 advantage. A lot of them don't even try to defend gens
Why is that? Because they know they don't have to care about the gens too much because they have NOED and good players typically realise when a killer is camping - they need to just sit on gens since there's nothing else they can do apart from trade. Against most killers, this is managable (due to BT in most cases) but certain killers make hook diving suicidal - Bubba, Trickster, Hag etc
A lot of the time Survivors are in a lose lose when it comes to this playstyle.
Do bones while their teammate is being tunnelled/camped to death and probably lose because gens aren't being done + it'll be a 3 v 1 soon
Or do what you're supposed to do when a killer commits to a camp & get hit with NOED. Probably end up slugged or get like 1/2 people out if the killer decides to camp the first person they down with it.
Then again, MMR rewards selfishness - if NOED procs and the gates are prepared typically people just leave, which is smart bc altruism is risky. Fun to try though.

We're talking about the weird times we get snow in our countries, I'm from the UK and I'm assuming GoodBoyKaru might as well but I'm not sure.
We've had times where we get no snow in November/December (aka when it's most wanted/would make more sense) but then we get snow in the dumbest of times like Febuary or April
-
Hopefully we see some snow this year
And not in January
-
Yay more cheaters
😐️
-
Each side has their own MMR and each killer has their own individual MMR
MMR is calculated by escapes and kills, more specifically it's not taken as '1v4' it's '1vs1 1v1 1v1 1v1'
So even getting 1 kill can raise your MMR, depending on the rating of the survivor and so on. Survivors always lose MMR if they die but they lose less depending on who gets sacrificed first
Nothing else is taken into account, it's kills and escapes and length of the match.
In short, it's escape based matchmaking, not SBMM
-
@RainehDaze said:
Because learning things is too difficult for low-MMR solo queue, so we need to make complicated concepts like "GET THE BOX" too weak to threaten them?
I mean to play devil's advocate
"GET THE BOX" turns into "Get tunnelled until he makes you drop the box with franklins" and "Never be able to solve it before then because he has hoarder + 2 solving time addons" and couple that with the weird chains still attacking you while solving thing and yeah
I don't think anyone complains about basekit Pinhead when it comes to the box itself
-
What addons did he have?
This might sound like a really dumb question but I'm just curious
-
"Overperforming"
Aka
Solo Qs get stomped by him, especially when he has the hoarder/franklins combo - which is why the box solving addons are the ones being nerfed
Since PTB everyone knew Engineer's Fang was a bit much but BHVR likes to take the 'wait and see' approach sometimes
-

The thing is blight player using the same addon and perk is not the issue because survivor do the same.
The external program are the issue i dont play blight very much but i played against him a lot what are the external program help him with?
Nah what i mean is that playing vs a normal blight isn't so bad
It's just that most blight players use a few select addons that really make playing against him either frustrating or just straight up impossible depending on a few things.
The external program thing is a thing a small section of blight players are doing and it's essentially cheating but they try to go "but it's a tech..." when it's not such a thing
-
Boring isn't the word I'd use tbh
Frustrating is more accurate - There's a lot of times where there's a fun back and forth between survivor and killer which is what makes him fun to go against
But facing blight after blight with the same build, the same addons that make his power even stronger than it is already + some of the frankly silly things people can do with blight by using exploits (not typical 'flicks', I'm talking the ppl who use external programs). It just gets frustrating and, to a degree, stale.
I think my main complain with him boils down to the fact that with certain addons he moves too fast to react to and if he hits you, he has his power immediately afterward meaning you barely have any room to you know, play the game.
-
Yeah honestly if you want to just avoid messages of any kind, privacy settings + not acknowledging the endgame chat is the best way to go aobut it
These days if I come across players who are trying to get a rise out of me for whatever reason, I just say gg and click continue. Don't let them occupy any space in my mind and move on
-
"I found a lit totem. It's probably ruin."

I hate mmr.
I can also tell that someone who makes a living off win streaks is gonna hate mmr too, but for reasons different from mine.
Survivor queues are fast as well during the day. As usual. Nothing changed. Players' count has been stable on steam charts. Nobody's quitting. There's no exodus of an oppressed minority.
But Otz said in the video he's gotten used to MMR and it doesn't really bother him that much. It has nothing to do with his streak videos
He's talking about what he's seeing from other people/his experience with the que times in his region
And people might not be quitting DBD completely, they might just not be playing killer as much/at all and playing survivor instead.
-
Nurse, Bubba, Huntress, Blight & Oni
These are the top 5 killers I see most frequently when playing in my region (UK)
-
Seeing the same 5/6 players over and over again gets really boring
Anyone else have a similar experience? Where they keep seeing the same people over and over?
-
They fixed it on PTB so it should be gone when the new chapter releases thankfully
-
But...
The forums told me to do bones to counter NOED?!
-
What prompted you to make this thread?
Is it your intention to just argue with people who think the cosmetic should be removed? It won't change anything.
If BHVR want it gone, it's going. If they don't want it gone, it's staying
Like I don't get it, all threads like this do is pit people who aren't changing their viewpoints against one another for a few hours until a mod comes in and closes it
-
No, it's not overrated.
No Way Out is one of the only good endgame perks that's not NOED and it allows you to actually have a decent endgame provided you get all the stacks. It adds 60 seconds onto opening a gate, that's not to be scoffed at.
It also grants you so much freedom in the endgame if survivors are occupied, as long as NWO remains inactive, YOU are in control - you know the gates aren't being opened and that they can't be opened. So if you have someone on the hook for example and NWO remains off, you can basically camp them to death for free and get an extra kill or two.
"But brokenbones, I don't wanna get to endgame - I wanna end the game with as many gens remaining as possible"
That's your prerogative and playstyle - you're entitled to it.
You can run 4 slowdowns if you want but we all know 4 slowdowns sometimes isn't enough because you lost ruin/undying super quick or maybe you can't get to the gens to use pop in time.
(Also running 4 gen defense perks is incredibly boring but that's just imo, run what you like!)

isn't virtue signaling pretending to believe something to seem like a good person
how is saying that you don't like a company getting involved in something you dislike and has potential consequences you dislike virtue signaling?
besides what does anyone have to gain from trying to convince the DBD forums that you're a good person. Free auric cells? Sign me up I guess
