Maybe thats why I'm missing I'm aiming similar to what I would do with Huntress. Try that ty Blueberry. Ya I recalled him saying something, but I was nvr able to refind a video with it.

Np, check out his 3 most recent Plague videos. I believe he mentions it in all of them at some point, don't have the time stamp though.

Yep he cycles through them from what I saw, but really only post on YT killers he enjoys. I literally sat in his lobby for 4 hours waiting for that Pig game that one day xD

I was hoping to see how he lands Plague vomit it still remains a mystery to me to this day lol cross map hatchet snipe no issue vomit oh ya cant land it with a survivor stationary in front of me rofl

He mentions it in a few of his vids but the vomit has a left tilting arc so whatever you're aiming at you have to aim a little to the right of it. If you aim at it directly you will miss.

Timezone difference I think I have only gotten o watch him stream once.

Ah, yeah that can be difficult. Seems like he only enjoys a few specific killers. Rarely plays most the others it looks like.

  • People will take your points much more seriously if you take all the emotion out of your post.

Also, space your point to make it more organized and easier to read.

The way you worded all this is just going to get people laughing or thinking its bait and definitely not taking the post seriously.

I really wish I could play Plague like him despite my lack of interest in her, but I just cant land that vomit for the life of me and he makes her look incredibly fun.

Fungoose also admits when he was outplayed unlike a few streamers and I dont listen to him yell. sadly I miss him a lot

He's probably the best Plague player I've seen. What do you mean miss him? He posted just 3 days ago

I feel he pushes those killers to the limit over most people though. The way he plays is significantly better then a large portion of the mainstream streamers.

Except his one Pig game I saw that was just unfortunate. Good SWF on Haddonfield he still clutched it though.

Look at the addendum at the bottom of the May stats post , it's 80% because people who depip don't count as rank 1 or 2 the 20% is no rank change

"it's 80% because people who depip don't count as rank 1 or 2 the 20% is no rank change"

Look up Fungoose on YT or Twitch the guys for insane skills with Clown, Plague, and Leatherface.

He's a great player for sure. It doesn't make those killers any more viable against good players though.

  • Honestly his santa outfit is his best one and just a really good looking outfit in general. I'd totally buy it if Clown wasn't trash.

  • Because you aren't supposed to be looping her. She requires you to play differently.

No, things like skill checks are handled on your own client, I believe. Ive never had lag affect my ability to hit skill checks, unless im staring at how much the killer is ping ponging around and it distracts me.

    This ^

Skillchecks were never affected by the killers ping, it was on your own side.

Nothing has changed for skillchecks with dedicated servers.

  • I don't think it can be fixed. It was completely terrible design at concept. The LAST thing this game needs is more second chance perks. The plethora of second chance perks is already one of the issues plaguing the game that needs fixing.

I'm at work so I cant post it like yours, but I'll separate it for you as best I can like you did.

I say low risk high reward simply because once you get the idea of her power and how she functions. You are rarely if ever are out of your power bar unless map traveling. Yes there are times you miss the survivors by quite a margin or predict wrong. I would go as high as to say "medium risk, high reward" , but shes nowhere near high risk unless your a bad Spirit.

Can't argue this because I say this all the time people refuse to adapt to her they would rather loop a killer who every 16 seconds is literally the strongest chaser in the game. Why adapt just complain am i right?

I wouldn't see a problem with the mediocre ones either, but thing it's like Nurse you need to know how to play against her in a specific way to actually be good. Otherwise you will still get dominated unless the killer is just that bad.

Honestly that why Spirit is better then Billy will ever be. He still requires mistakes on a survivors part. If your in a open are your more then likely screwed, but if your in a jungle gym you have made him a 115 M/S killer. Just Billy is not as crippled by it as most killers since he has a insta down

Spirit is imho one of few killers who are truely balanced extremely well. She wouldn't be nearly as strong now if the meta was still stealth based one instead of a non healing loop based one.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/757132#Comment_757132

    Thanks.

Yeah I can agree with most of all that.

"Spirit is imho one of few killers who are truly balanced extremely well."

This is why I think she should be the balance point they aim all killers for.

A lot of the balance issues come down to poor map design. Loops are too strong and numerous but at the same time survivors are too reliant on them as they have no real other means of escape. A proper map rework would allow less reliance on loops to survive which would in turn allow them to be weakened and reduced in amount. This shift in what determines if a killer is good or not would completely flip the killer tier list without even touching the killers themselves.

Without loops being the determinant factor all the sudden you see all the top tier chase killers drop in power tremendously.

I wouldn't say easy to pick up is the correct statement. Shes actually just low risk high reward. I've seen terrible terrible Spirits, but apparently they just suck at the game according to most Spirit Nerf threads.

Just cause some people slide a headset on and max out the volume so they can go deaf later in life to compensate the fact they can't see a survivor. Those people are not common. Most Spirits are in fact mediocre. Spirit forces mistakes from people who lack the skill or know how to play against her this is why she seems so OP. Most killers require the survivors to make a mistake to get a underhand in the chase. Rin however does not have that issue.

"Shes actually just low risk high reward."

She is quite literally the complete opposite of this. If you read them incorrectly the chase is completely reset and your power is now on cooldown. If anything she is high risk/high reward.

"Spirit forces mistakes from people who lack the skill or know how to play against her this is why she seems so OP."

That's the issue. She requires you to play against her completely differently and most survivors just refuse to learn that and try to juke her the same as every other killer only to come to the forums and complain.

"Most Spirits are in fact mediocre."

This is a big point. A mediocre Spirit is easy to juke and if that's the majority of them then I don't see an issue with her.

"Most killers require the survivors to make a mistake to get a underhand in the chase. Rin however does not have that issue."

This right here is exactly why 90% of the killer roster isn't rank 1 viable. They rely on survivor mistakes to win.

The game is balanced that if you play by the games rules you are weak and lose.

The few rank 1 viable killers are viable because they don't follow the games rules IE being loopable.

If you are a killer that relies on survivor mistakes = weak

Don't rely on survivor mistakes = rank 1 viable

This is all assuming competent survivors obviously and not people making stupid mistakes.

  • @TAG said:

I think the biggest problem with balance, personally, are the maps. A LOT of them (mainly older ones) need to be relooked at, IMO.

    This guy gets it ^

The majority of all the games balance issues stem from terrible map design.

If the maps were better a lot of the weaker killers would become much more viable without even touching them.

Gen speed feels like the main issue, but the whole reason the gens go that fast is because of how much time the survivors can waste FROM the map design in correlation with how long the gens take.

However even if we look at the redesign they already did to Badham it still isn't fixed appropriately. This is why they are gonna have to do major buffs to all the weaker killers anyway since they aren't handling the map reworks correctly enough to fix the problem on its own.

  • This is what happens when the devs try and force a play style on the players.

They want you to play in a "fair" way so instead of making that play style more viable they just change the way the game ranks you to force it.

    Kills should = pips

Instead they want everyone to be a winner. Participation trophies for all! This is also where the hatch mechanic comes from.

Everyone pips now by intentionally being stupid and letting the game drag out as long as possible.

They tried to change what winning means.

She needs adjustments slight tho they may be... she's the Queen killer only because she's so good and you see her the most cause she's so easy to pick up. I'm not saying it's important to get to her first tho... there are so many killers that need slight buffs first... but we will prolly wait about a year and get one or two killers looked at because balance is glacial in this game...

"she's so good and you see her the most cause she's so easy to pick up"

You see her a lot because she's one of the few viable killers and she is also not "easy to pick up" at all. She's one of the 3 hardest to play killers in the game.

If we had more viable killers we would see much, much less Spirit.

"there are so many killers that need slight buffs first"

Now this I totally agree with you. There are so many underperforming killers that should be much higher on their priority list.

"but we will prolly wait about a year and get one or two killers looked at because balance is glacial in this game..."

    This is true as well

I just don't think that removing her collision while phasing would move her from 2nd place killer. If you are relying on that your prolly not the best spirit.

"I just don't think that removing her collision while phasing would move her from 2nd place killer"

Never said it would, but that doesn't mean it's needed.

"If you are relying on that your prolly not the best spirit."

    Never said I did.

If you can't figure out how to juke a Spirit easily maybe you're not the best survivor.

    See how that works?

Reasoning and logic will get your argument a lot further than shallow insults.

  • Rank rewards = no money

    Battlepass = money

Rank rewards seriously should be one of their top priorities though...like 3 years ago.

So many features get prioritized that are so unimportant in the scheme of the games grander issues.

I really don't see the difficulty using spirit it's a lot harder using nurse or learning how to curve with Billy or hatchets with Huntress. Chases are pretty easy, mind gaming pallets as well. Yes she has counters but compared to how strong she is it's not that difficult to pick her up.

I never said she was harder than Nurse or Huntress. I just said she was in the top 3 with them.

Also, Billy is quite easy compared to these other 3.

  • @Snapshot said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/757001#Comment_757001

But they also made nurse more difficult now, pretty sure they will also adjust Spirit in one form or another ;)

I wouldn't call the base nurse changes being made more difficult. They literally just made her worse by giving a cooldown on her blink. I feel calling that a skill increase is quite a stretch.

  • Spirits already in the top 3 skill requiring killers in the game so that doesn't really make much sense to me to want to make her more difficult. I'd also even argue it's more skill required having the phase collision and knowing how to manipulate it.

  • @Snapshot said:

Which were confirmed by a developer to be scewed and basically meaningless as depips to rank 2 are not even counted in rank 1 stats so please first confirm your source.

Firstly, if the stats are so irrelevant because of how skewed they are, why would you even bring them up? That's quite contradictory.

Secondly, if you actually look at the reasons the devs listed as to why they are skewed, they are things that would majority improve the survival rate not decrease it. Also, having rank 2 stats included with rank 1 is not going to change much so that is quite irrelevant.

Finally, those are the latest stats we have been given so they are the most relevant to go on.

If you don't think the stats are worthy of reference because of their accuracy, don't try and use them to prove a point.

I for my part agree that Spirit should change a little because you just have to look at the stats to see she dominates at high rank as the go-to killer for an almost guaranteed pip.

I thought it was the same reason (or one of the reasons) they changed old Freddy: survivors HATE going against someone able to be totally invisible.

That could be it. I figured this wouldn't be as bad seeing he is still extremely loud so you would be able to generally tell where he was at and as he's reappearing you would also know where he's at to run the right direction. With Freddy he wasn't loud and aside from some glimmers during transition you were running but had no idea where he was.

  • It's a good question. He's literally just a bad Ghostface.

Imo his stealth needs to actually be invisible, clapper at base and his movespeed while stealthed needs to be much higher.

I've always thought that Legions Mend and Plagues Sickness should have a debuff on them similar to old Freddys action speed penalty. Let them suffer consequences for these states or fix them.

I also would like Doctors skill checks to be more creative popping up upside down and backwards or even having the skill check and the pointer both moving separately on two different locations of the screen.

All of this sounds like a good idea to me!

Real quick though, for Mindbreaker, which version of Oblivious would you prefer? I’ve been torn between the two while I was writing this.

Alt Optional, so just repairing any past that % will give them Oblivious while repairing.

Oblivious is worth way, way more than Exhaustion.

Wraith should take ~46 levels T_T

Yeah it speeds up a lot if you get lucky with BBQ especially but rng is rng lol

@Blueberry I can max out points with Plague but it isn’t very common that I do.

I agree that her bloodpoint value should increase. Demogorgon gets 800 points for a “Shred” attack and Spirit gets 600 points for a “Grudge” attack. Plague only gets 300 points for Corrupt Purge which sometimes you won’t ever get to use. It’s also really hard to pip with Plague at red ranks.

I don't think the issue is that her bloodpoint values are low. She ends up getting very low points because she doesn't get to ever use her Corrupted Purge. She needs changes that will make the survivors want to cleanse against her so that she actually gets to use her power which will in turn make her more fun to use and get her intended normal blood points. I suppose the 300 could still be too low, but we'd have to see after she gets those changes how much Corrupted Purge use she is actually getting.

  • We'll Make It is always a really nice addition. Not only does it get you a lot more points but it takes a lot of pressure away from the killer. Quite an underrated perk to throw in.

  • It's a very long and arduous process for sure. I did it for all the killers.

  • Most people vote her as second or third least played killer in the game. It's her with Hag right after Clown. That's the generally consensus and what I tend to see as well.

I'm not seeing any more Plagues than normal. I think of Plague as being more typically overrated. People tend to see her as a permanent T3 Myers when people don't cleanse and this just isn't the case. It looks much stronger on paper than in reality.

She's a noob destroyer though against players that don't know how to loop or force their team to cleanse.

I personally love her though and wish they'd fix her issues to be more viable and actually get to use her power. She also gets complete garbage for blood points because she isn't getting to use her power.

  • @liarcy said:

The perks don’t make it easier because a spirit has to be brain dead to lose an injured survivor and playing against her is just about luck if not using perks

You may have understood me wrong I love spirit so much she is my main btw and I don’t think she is op But prayer beads is not good I used it it’s almost a guaranteed 4k if you get grabs or not because if you don’t grab them then they are scared to be on gens which will get no work done

Well if they are running IW it's quite easy to juke a Spirit. You're also never getting snuck up on if you're running Prem or Spine. I do not think luck has anything to do with Spirit. It's about predicting players moves.

"if you don’t grab them then they are scared to be on gens which will get no work done"

They will still get them done, just slower. I don't think slower is really an issue with how overly fast games currently are.

I'd be fine with swapping Beads with Father's Glasses in rarity so that the beads are harder to come by. I wouldn't want a direct nerf tho. I think ultra rares should be powerful for how rare they are and most ultra rares these days are trash because of how heavy the negatives the devs have put on them. This is why almost all killers best addons are very rares instead.

  • @jordirex said:

"If you want to play your unfun broken killer expect survivors to DC on you."

This is the problem. They THINK they are broken killers when they really just get outplayed. They only consider it unfun because they lost and couldn't pallet loop them for 5 gens.

  • @liarcy said:

I say it’s stupid that you have to equip spine chill to counter an add on ( prayer beads) meaning its not fair

but iron will gives you counter play against her power and at red ranks she is popular along side nurse also iron will helps in chases whilst spine chill Isn’t that great vs many killers it’s just there for stealth build

summary of what I said she has counter play but prayer beads needs a change because having to equip 2 perks to have a balanced chase is not good one is enough

You don't need those 2 perks to counter it. They simply make it much easier. Spine Chill, Iron Will and Premonition are also quite good against all killers regardless of if you are running a stealth build. Besides since you said yourself how popular she is the perks will be paying off a lot.

That said, every single game has meta's that players run specific things that aren't normally as good, specifically to counter the popular choices.

  • The medkit healing buffs were completely unnecessary as healing is already quite fast. Survivors currently need to be slowed down, not sped up. The addon changes are good though.

"which were mostly for the favor of killers specially from the clown DLC and forward"

There is a VERY good reason for this. You mentioned you were an OG player so this video should remind us as to why.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SE

The game has been far from balanced for killers and has been working towards correcting those mistakes. This is why I don't think we should look at med kit buffs as compensation for killer buffs and survivor nerfs.

I personally don't like NOED. I do not think it is OP and I also don't think it is unfair. It is completely in the survivors power as to whether or not it does anything. I don't like it because it rewards killers with kills they didn't earn. It gives kills for the survivors being lazy rather than the killer being skillful. This is also the reason I don't run it. I'd like it to still punish survivors for gen rushing and ignoring totems, but not with "free" downs.

Mori's are crazy strong but they are also one of the few things killers have to help handle SWF groups. I'm all for nerfing Mori's, but ONLY once the game gets balanced for SWF, of which it currently is not at all.

It's important to point out that a killer can force a 3-Gen by protecting 3-Gens. Survivors might not have had a choice in the matter if they didn't have someone skilled enough to loop the killer for long periods of time.

But otherwise, 3-gen is usually avoidable on most maps, there are just a surprising number of dumb survivors who don't understand gen strategy.

"if they didn't have someone skilled enough to loop the killer for long periods of time."

I think this is the key take away here though. It is in the survivors control even if the killer is trying to force it. If it worked then the survivor wasn't good at looping. That is a skill issue on the survivor, not an inability to prevent the strat.

"But otherwise, 3-gen is usually avoidable on most maps, there are just a surprising number of dumb survivors who don't understand gen strategy."

    That's true.

This is their problem, they take so long to do changes. Most of the weaker killers don't need reworks just minor number changes on their powers. They could keep changing said numbers every month until they were all decent killers.... easy quick fixes they could still do reworks later but those killers would be more viable now

For real. From mentioning their plans, to implementing and finally releasing it is literally a 6 month process at least for them. This isn't even talking about a major rework, literally just numbers and small tweaks.

  • You forgot Spine Chill and Premonition which are both crazy good against her and still really good against all killers.

Also, Fixated is really good, better for jukes than people give it credit for. Urban Evasion as well.

You can juke her pretty hard with fake vaulting as well, IE fast vault over and then immediately slow vault back. Works every time.

  • This is why I typically don't like playing Hag much. Her just innate play style is extremely campy. Doesn't feel fun to play or play against.

  • Yeah always gens in mid first, you want the killer to have to waste as much time as possible patrolling gens.

I also always skip over a gen for every gen I do. You never wanna do gen after gen all next to each other, that's just setting your team up for a rough 3 gen.

You're right though, it's surprising how even higher ranks still don't know this and just do whatever random gen they run into without keeping track of which gens have been done and which are left.

I plan out exactly which gens will be the last 3 from as soon as the game starts and building around which gens my team happens to do. This is also why I never complain about a killer with a 3 gen because it is completely avoidable and the survivors mistake if it got to that point.

  • @PlagueDocta said:

I don`t think addons need to be buffed. I personally think that his base power needs to be changed. Having "chewed pen" cd reduction as default would be a nice improvement to his power.

I would also like if they reworked reveal mechanic. So it doesn`t cancel the whole power, but instead doesn`t allow you to stalk a certain survivor for a period of time and old CD reduction addons would instead reduce amount of time you can`t stalk a survivor that has revealed you.

It would be cool if they changed his U/R addons. Tape is boring and Camera is useless most of the time.

For example: Tape will increase amount of time it takes to mark a survivor to 30 (20) seconds, but mark is permanent and doesn`t fade away after survivor was hooked or downed OR you can instantly kill marked survivor by your own hand (similar to shape).

Camera will reveal all survivors' auras outside your terror radius for 4 seconds when you activate night shroud OR will reveal marked survivor's auras for the duration of the mark.

    This sounds nice!

That's how I play him. Most of my 4K games at red ranks don't involve a single stalk. You lose the free M1 and don't get the stalk off anyway most of the time. He's actually quite good with an anti-healing build like Sloppy/Nurse's/etc. Staying injured against Ghostface is insanely risky on most maps.

Yup, exactly how I play him as well including the same perks.

Against low ranks his stalk might work but at high ranks they aren't oblivious and you will very rarely get a stalk in and by even trying to you just missed out on a free hit.

I have fun playing him this way but it really feels like bad design when the best way to use him isn't even using his power.

1 … 180 181 182 183 184 … 255
