Yes.

I'd like to add that the idea of a 1 shot charge had entered my head, but I don't see a way it could be balanced even if you had to hold it for like 5s. Too tough, too dramatic of a change.
It's a full charge of it, not a tap which is quite a bit. His lunge is also quite easily juked.

They’ve played a couple hundred games as Demo. Even if they weren’t at Rank 1, why does it matter? Their opinion on Demogorgon is based on their experience playing a bunch of games.
You wanted to make it seem as though my opinion doesn’t matter because I have only played Demo a few times but then when somebody does have an opinion on Demo who has played a lot you wanna throw out “Is this at Rank 1?”
Red ranks isn’t the end all be all by the way. You can find decent survivors in purple and green ranks. A Rank 8 can be better than a Rank 2. The Rank 2 just plays more often.
Saying that, I’m pretty sure they’ve made it to red ranks in a couple hundred games.
"They’ve played a couple hundred games as Demo. Even if they weren’t at Rank 1, why does it matter? Their opinion on Demogorgon is based on their experience playing a bunch of games."
It matters significantly. If I was just playing Demi at rank 10 I would think he's godlike and didn't need any changes because survivors at that rank play dumb and make something look stronger than it is.
"You wanted to make it seem as though my opinion doesn’t matter because I have only played Demo a few times but then when somebody does have an opinion on Demo who has played a lot you wanna throw out “Is this at Rank 1?”"
Yes, because times playing something is pretty important. That should be just common sense.
I simply asked him the rank of those games. You make it sound like, No LiER@!!. That isn't what happened.
"Red ranks isn’t the end all be all by the way."
Red ranks games are significantly different than lower rank games. The only people that wouldn't agree with this are people who in fact don't play at red ranks.
"You can find decent survivors in purple and green ranks."
Just because there can be doesn't mean that is the norm.
My grandma can smoke her whole life and not get cancer. Does that mean smoking doesn't cause cancer? No, obviously not. GENERALLY, they will be much worse.
"The Rank 2 just plays more often."
While time is a large factor, red ranks aren't just because they played more.
"Saying that, I’m pretty sure they’ve made it to red ranks in a couple hundred games."
And they simply may have. All I did was ask a question and you just jumped quite hard at me.

If we're being honest here I've played like a couple hundred games on demogorgon. I think a 1 shot is too much.
Is this at rank 1?
-
Now THIS I would like to see.
Hopefully after this turns into a repeat of the Hag game from a few years back we'll finally get some needed changes. It wasn't until that game that they finally realized how bad flashlights were back then.
Tbh though, after how bad that game went back then I couldn't see this ever happening again.

Nooooooo. I’m not even great with Demogorgon as I only have 3 matches played with him but the lunge being a one shot is incredibly OP. It’s basically Iridescent Head 2.0. Just get on the survivors’ ass and down them. It’s about as easy/difficult to dodge as a hatchet. Depends if the Demogorgon is good or not. A one shot lunge should be an add-on at best but even then it’s very powerful. You’re making it seem as though it’s very easy to dodge, it’s not.
Demo is in a good place, he is NOT weak in the slightest. His footsteps shouldn’t be so loud on the killers’ end though. It’s very distracting. He just suffers against a good competent team as most killers do.
You're basing this on 3 games...

No prob. You must not come from a marginalized community. I understand why it can be difficult to put yourself in the shoes of those who are the target of hateful language and rhetoric. We all don't have that luxury.
I do come from a marginalized group actually.

I'm glad that you aren't abusive to others and I apologise if it came across that I was accusing you of that. But you should be aware that's the kind of argument abusive people make. It has major undertones of victim blaming. Just be careful if you don't want to be misunderstood.
It's okay.
I don't personally think advocating for freedom of speech has undertones of victim blaming though at all.
Misunderstandings are part of why I believe in freedom of speech. When we start restricting things there will be someone, somewhere that will find something wrong with anything since it's a very subjective matter. Rules based on subjective matter is a very scary place to be in my opinion as it is a very slippery slope that doesn't really have a definitive end and can be manipulated quite heavily by whatever party may be making said rules.
Anyway I know we have differing opinions, I just enjoy theoretical conversations like this.

Ok well then I respectfully disagree.
Having been through enough bullying in school when I was younger, I can definitely tell you that some words hit people differently. No amount of Freedom of Speech is going to make it ok for me, when I know that someone else is being subject to those words.
Which is the reason why I brought it up in the first place. Freedom of Speech doesn't mean be mean to whoever you want to be using those words.
This is a PvP game and I get that at some points either side is going to disagree with each other, it doesn't mean that the devs should just let people use whatever words they want to use.
So we can agree to disagree.
That's totally fair.
"Freedom of Speech doesn't mean be mean to whoever you want to be using those words."
The only tough thing with policing this is when it's highly subjective like "mean". How far would that go? A lot of people would consider different things mean. I think more focus would need to be on intent rather than how the person being offended took it. So something you might find mean for example, I might not find as mean.
So like I'm american indian and what if I found it mean/offensive for anyone to where feathers as I think that relates back to my heritage. Do we now ban all costumes from ever having feathers? Yes that's an object not a word but I could also apply that to any american indian root word ever to be used in the game. You see what I mean? This rabbit whole could go on and on and on to where we are left with nothing and living in a bubble world.

Fair enough. You said "should".
So let me get this straight.... You think people should be able to say what they want, even using the words that are technically bannable, no matter the context.
Did I get it right?
Personally and in my opinion, yes.
That is not how the game is or will ever be, but simply what I think myself.
I'd rather be offended by something very bad said to me than to take away that's persons freedom of speech to say it. I value freedom a lot and that's just my opinion.
Now that does NOT include calls for acts of violence. That is an exception I would not include in freedom of speech.
-
In my experience most of the "camping/tunneling" complaints aren't actually legitimate. They are usually the scenario you described where they made a bad play/decision and you capitalized on it. In this meta you only win BY capitalizing on survivors mistakes. I play both sides a lot and it's VERY rare that someone seriously just gets hard camped/tunneled without good reason. People expect the killer to go to the opposite side of the map after a hook or to not come back after someone gets saved and that's quite ridiculous. If my teammate gives me a stupid save I don't blame the killer for my dumb teammate. He has to capitalize on that mistake for pressure.

Yes, the lowest three on PC were
Plague: 52%
Clown: 50%
And no shocker, Legion: 50%
On consoles, both XBox and PS had Huntress (52%)
Plague(50%)
and Nurse(40%)
No shock there since they all have to aim very precisely for their power to work. Although its odd Nurse got changed to be harder when she's already hard enough on console.
EDIT: Here's the link for the graphs.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/61114/data-sheets-community-requests
They've also stated in the forums multiple times that Plague's kill rates are quite high making these stats they have for her quite contradictory.

If words are just words to you, then why do you have such a big issue with a profanity filter in a conversation?
There certain words that will get you a ban for using them. I'm simply saying block those specific words. How does this affect you?
"If words are just words to you, then why do you have such a big issue with a profanity filter in a conversation?"
Those are not synonymous.
Not minding what people say to me and preventing someone from being able to say what they what are two very different things.
"There certain words that will get you a ban for using them."
I'm not saying that there aren't. The question wasn't what BHVR's rules are. The question was asking "why not also block certain words from being used?". You were asking the community a question looking for an opinionated answer.
"How does this affect you?"
Just because I may not choose to use cuss words doesn't mean I personally think they should be blocked. I believe in freedom of speech. I think someone should have the right to say whatever they want to me no matter how mean it is.

And yet oddly enough the very forums we are currently communicating on have all kinds of rules on what kind of behavior is allowed. Why do you suppose that is? Allow me to answer my own question. Because rules for communication are required for civil discourse to exist. Insults and swear words offer no benefit to anyone and only lead to hate and anger.
"And yet oddly enough the very forums we are currently communicating on have all kinds of rules on what kind of behavior is allowed. Why do you suppose that is?"
Never said that they didn't. Just because they do, doesn't mean it's a good decision. It was just simply their decision to make.
"Because rules for communication are required for civil discourse to exist."
No, we did not say "rules for communication". What was referred to was blocking words. Those are very different things.
"Insults and swear words offer no benefit to anyone and only lead to hate and anger."
This is just simply not true whatsoever and even if they did, free speech is much more important than someone getting angered by the words you used.

Most players are abdocating for the weaker perks to be buffed.
However, that doesn't mean the top perks aren't currently at too high of a level.
-
Because people need to stop being snowflakes and thicken their skin. It's just words. We don't need language policing. People should be able to say whatever they want to say.
-
I like the idea, blindness as a status effect is pretty worthless right now though. Hindered is a little better.
Personally Demi's biggest issue is that his shred has too high of risk for very little reward. His shred is very easy to dodge and is heavily punishing for a miss. I get something like this with say Billy for example since he has high reward with a 1 shot. However, Demi's isn't a 1 shot and Billy actually has way more control with his saw than Demi's lunge (referring to curving and direction change flicking on release) which in turn makes it much easier to land.
I think his lunge should be a 1 shot if fully charged and his lunge missed recovery should be lessened.
-
Well people have learned from the devs that if they DC a lot it will get nerfed so I'm not surprised. We also still haven't received the heavy punishment changes for DC's yet.
-
Weak.
Super loud, large for loopability and his lunge is way too easily avoidable and predictable for not even being a 1 shot and having a heavily punished recovery.
-
I agree. It should also not even have a cooldown as it's completely unnecessary.

I've played both sides at rank 1 on every reset for years.
It only doesn't seem this way when you play at low ranks and people have no idea what they're doing.
-
Full solo survivors are still the power role so I'm not a fan of this.
I'd rather have them increase the difficulty for survivors the higher rank they are at the same time they implement rank rewards and stricter punishments for DC's.
-
NOED artificially makes the game look more balanced than it actually is with the free kills it gives. I'd be curious to see lethality statistics with NOED games taken out of the equation. I don''t think it should be counted because we are looking at kills rates for determining game balance and kills from NOED don't reflect balance.
That said, I think it's a completely fair perk that is easily countered and is definitely not overpowered. I simply think it gives undeserved kills and isn't healthy for the game.
-
It does seem too loud currently. It's blaring out a lot of tracking sounds.

Yeah Lightweight needs to decrease footstep sounds and Predator needs to increase them.
-
Those types of buffs are actually what needs to go to Lightweight seeing as that's the perk more related to footsteps.
-
Huge tip that holds most lower ranks back.
Don't waste time. At ALL times you should either be on a gen or making a save. If you aren't doing one or the other you are wasting time (IE points for pipping). Generally just get on a gen though as most lower ranks everyone is rushing for saves and no one's doing gens. Survivors waste so, so much time at lower ranks creeping around the map or hiding even when the killer is no where near them and wasting time.
Have your escape route planned before the killer even shows up at your gen.
I'd highly recommend Fungoose on twitch/youtube. Extremely good player on both sides that is highly educational and you will learn a lot.

This isn’t that common of a thing but people do it because they’re good, not because no risk is involved. That is like me saying that there is no risk for a killer playing without add ons.
I never stated there was no risk involved.
What I did say was that it isn't as dangerous as it should be which is something completely different.
I also specifically mentioned rank 1 which is where it is indeed very common. Other ranks are a different story.
-
"staying injured is risky as all hell"
It's actually the complete opposite. Staying injured isn't dangerous enough right now. It's the reason people don't heal at rank 1 and just gen rush.

No, @Blueberry is right. Base blurred vision is not strong enough. The kind of blurred vision that’s incurred from direct hits and his cigar box should be base kit, and Intoxication needs to last longer.
Also, Clown isn’t intuitive in his current state. You’re not really meant to throw bottles directly at Survivors UNLESS you’re attempting a direct hit for the greater blurred vision penalty or to interrupt an action. You’re meant to get bottles to break ahead of survivors so that if they run through the full gas cloud they incur the longest possible Intoxication, hindered and blurred vision.
"The kind of blurred vision that’s incurred from direct hits and his cigar box should be base kit, and Intoxication needs to last longer."
This sounds like what he needs. The blurred vision is kind of his niche thing so I'd like them to build and improve on that.

They've had mistaken stats in the past (using "rank 1" data didn't include people who depipped out of rank 1 that match) but that doesn't mean they're completely blind to what's going on.
One, they have to have some tracking of average kills on each killer, and by rank, to know how each is doing, and they've provided us with (some of) that information in the past.
Two, they have all the same access to the community we do. They hear all the complaints, they can see all the streamers demolishing with her, they can see her in their own games. I know people love tosay the devs suck at the game but we all know there's at least a few good players in there.
It's silly to deny they know how a killer is performing and that that's grounds for not nerfing something that's too strong, or too easy for the payoff it gives.
It's not silly. We've just pointed out their stats are flawed and not reliable, so what they see as to how a killer is performing in those stats is not reliable.
Also, going by the communities perception of her strength is quite irrelevant. The average DBD player is low rank and will think something is stronger or weaker than it actually is.
Seeing streamers demolish with her is also quite meaningless for what we are trying to determine here.
-
I've been wanting individual killer ranks. They mentioned that they were possibly considering it.
-
Just quite weak.
It needs to have synergy with other perks like Surge.
The skill check also needs to be harder or maybe make it go backwards.

When you're trying to assert authority about the CURRENT state of the game and have 5 hours in the last two weeks? Yep.
"Again, if that's the assumption you gather from a recent week play time that is quite ignorant."
Assuming that you're not actively playing because your profile indicates you're not actively playing is ignorant? Oh boy...

I don't have rank 1 killer yet this reset. The screenshot was a response to being told I don't play rank 1 survivor. You didn't provide a screenshot of either yet.
"When you're trying to assert authority about the CURRENT state of the game and have 5 hours in the last two weeks? Yep."

Two weeks is not a determinant of "active playing".

I never said you didn't play rank 1 survivor. What I said was that you don't play BOTH sides at rank 1. So based on your logic above should I assume you aren't actively playing killer as well and that you are still stuck in 2018? That would sound stupid wouldn't it.

Ok first, overperforming. A killer should (we assume) average 2 kills per match if they are "balanced," good survivors should beat them, bad survivors should die to them, good killer players should do well on them, bad killer players will probably struggle.
If a killer is overperforming, that means that they're averaging far more kills than that. It isn't simply that good players are playing them a lot, but that their power gives too much reward for how difficult it is to use. Spirit is not difficult to use, her power gives her huge mobility, allows her to land easy hits with very little counterplay on the survivor's side (there's not really anything you can do about a killer bumping into you and knowing exactly where to swing when you have no idea if they're behind you or in front of you) and her add ons present some huge issues, like Prayer Beads.
To say "don't nerf Spirit, buff everything else" is what people (Nurse mains) said for years about Nurse. The issue is that that presumes that Spirit is balanced, and that buffing everything else up bring EVERYTHING to a point of balance. From the information we're given (that she is "overperforming") we know she ISN'T balanced.
Nerfing her, like Nurse, is not going to bring her down to M1 killer tier by default. There's a lot of small tweaks (taking out prayer beads, no collision while phasing, no passive phasing, an actual tell to her standing-still "mind game") that would make her much fairer to play against without hurting most good Spirit players significantly.
People who like killer don't often just suddenly start enjoying survivor more. People play different killers, it's more about the hunting and gameplay than it is about just playing DBD. Red rank killers don't HAVE to play the most broken thing in the game to do well, and if they do, they probably shouldn't be highly ranked anyway. It's incredibly unlikely that changing Spirit would magically kill red ranks. Consider that most of these killer nerfs, buffs and reworks are coming alongside map reworks that make playing other killers less cumbersome, and a lot of fixes to things on the survivor side as well. It isn't as simple as "nerf Spirit, killer as a whole is dead."
Yes, there is a "next" after Spirit too, the devs basically gave a not-quite-concise list on the Q&A this week, mostly problematic add ons like Iridescent heads, or the Key/Mori situation. It doesn't mean 1 by 1 they're killing anything good, it's change to make both sides more enjoyable across the board by fixing overly strong aspects of the game that are oppressive because of how strong they are. Sadly, Spirit is one of those things.
"From the information we're given (that she is "overperforming") we know she ISN'T balanced."
This entire assumption assumes their stats are correct and they have even themselves stated that their stats are flawed and shouldn't be used for balance.

I really don't think you're actually reading or understanding the posts. I'll do the quotes like you did for context.
"It entirely does offer substance, you just refuse to believe it. I pointed out that your entire base premise is not correct. I did read it, I just think you are wrong."
You said "there aren't any other oppressive killers at Rank 1 against good survivors" and "survivors aren't learning how to counter her". The first point is flat out not true and the second was addressed in the original post.
"Because that is actually what is happening. The only people agreeing with you are people who don't actually play both sides at rank 1 to understand the games balance. What IS dividing the community are people pushing for game changes that don't have a full grasp of the game."
Could you post screenshots of your current rank on both sides to justify your opinions, then? If that's what's needed to have an opinion, go ahead and show us why you have more legitimacy to comment than I do.
"This had already been answered on this post if you simply scroll up as well as ad nauseam in these forums. You can hear her footsteps quite easily. You juke your scratch marks by doubling back a different direction. Lots more walking and less running allows her to be juked quite easily. If she isn't hearing you she is entirely trying to predict your movement. Be unpredictable. Fast vault a window and then slow vault back over. Works A LOT."
This is actual proof that you don't play survivor at rank 1. Do you really think we're not doing these things already? It's very telling that you think high rank survivors haven't been trying all of these things. You can't actually hear her footsteps well enough to outplay her. The other 4 suggestions are all countered by her collision while phasing.
"This is all not taking into account stealth since you already mentioned that and the many perks that counter her as well. Most of those perks are also still very good against other killers. You mention in your original post whether survivors can "afford" to run them. Really? Survivors could literally run zero perks right now and they are still the power role. Yes, they can afford to run any off meta thing they like. I'd even argue Iron Will is hard meta and Spine Chill low key."
I guess we are at an impasse if you're of the mind that survivors are the current power role. The game feels relatively balanced in most situations right now. The only thing that would change my mind is seeing survival rates from BHVR. Seems like you're stuck in 2017-2018.
"You said "there aren't any other oppressive killers at Rank 1 against good survivors" and "survivors aren't learning how to counter her". The first point is flat out not true and the second was addressed in the original post."
Yes it is true and no it wasn't.
"Could you post screenshots of your current rank on both sides to justify your opinions, then? If that's what's needed to have an opinion, go ahead and show us why you have more legitimacy to comment than I do."
Twitch.TV/blueberrycollectiveNear 4, 000 hours, achieves and my twitch stream for viewing pleasure. Link yours as well?
"This is actual proof that you don't play survivor at rank 1. Do you really think we're not doing these things already?"
The fact you don't think these work tells me you don't. I've linked my hours, achieves and my live stream for my legitimacy. I've played both sides at rank 1 for years on every reset.
"It's very telling that you think high rank survivors haven't been trying all of these things. You can't actually hear her footsteps well enough to outplay her. The other 4 suggestions are all countered by her collision while phasing."
Most survivors don't learn how to play against her and don't do these things. Instead they come to the forums like you have. Those other 4 things are only countered by phase collision if you're bad and don't know how to do it properly.
"I guess we are at an impasse if you're of the mind that survivors are the current power role. The game feels relatively balanced in most situations right now. The only thing that would change my mind is seeing survival rates from BHVR. Seems like you're stuck in 2017-2018."
If you think the game is relatively balanced right now then you don't play both sides at rank 1 at all. I think you're stuck at low ranks in 2019 and haven't realized the games balance yet.
