Devs really just killed all the fun reasons to play DeathSlinger now with the nerfs. It just why should we ever play him again when Huntress, Trickster and now Artist does a much better and feels better than a broken cowboy. Even the hybrid range killers like Demo, Plague, Nemesis and Pyramid Head feel much better to play as.
IMO the nerfs that could've been better while retaining his fun was a cooldown from ADS to do a basic M1 so can't quick scope spam and a lullaby similar to what the Trickster has so he can't cheese invisible shots when using M&A.
The very few cowboys that I've seen were all just terrible and couldn't land any shots unless the idiot survivor was running in a straight line making it a very easy shot for cowboy they mostly got their hits from just a M1 by just walking up to em. Don't get me started on the indoor maps either, by the time you get your ADS up and ready to fire the survivor already running across a corner since there's so much LoS blockage.
Overall it just feels terrible now to play cowboy there is absolutely no reason to play him anymore when other range killers are better in every way.

I disagree. The small hitbox allows him to make some shots huntress couldn't dream of, and he doesn't have to break the flow of chase in order to reload. And while Deep Wound may not be lethal, its time wasting potential shouldnt be underestimated. I wouldn't say hes an upgrade or downgrade from huntress, he's more of a side-grade.
Still played no differently than Huntress, no longer fun now and why shot a little spear when you can just chuck hatchets the size of a fridge across the map.

It'll be in the game sooner or later is your alright waiting 2-4 years for them to make something that should take a month to code and build.
-
It was in a patch notes don't remember which patch or the exact buff is on the speed increase. Get extra movement speed while holding M2 with the +1 range it already has. Any further buffs can make it too oppressive.
Maybe 1 buff I can think of. Tier 2 let's you destroy pallets and walls so maybe tier 3 can let you damage gens, but keep it from being too strong at that it'll always be treated as a basic stomp so gen stomping perks will never trigger, maybe a slightly longer fatigue and can't trigger at all if a survivor is currently working on the gen.
-
I swear I've seen this exact post before months ago.

That’s stupid? Why would they change that?
Because it was HORRIBLE for killer players when they are doing everything correctly like they should, but then 2 or more survivors just instant escape the moment the 5th gen pops in the killer's face cheating the killer the win they should've gotten. Also there was a lot of times when the last 2 survivors would do nothing but hide until the other is killed so they can take the hatch just wasting everyone's time.
Want the stupid key hatch changes back then better accept old mori then when we can just instant kill you after 1 hook.
There is changes coming for the key, hatch, and mori system, but knowing them and how long it took just to make the most simple change it'll take forever.
-
Blame survivors and the bs perks they've been getting such as dead hard change, boons, toxic players and gens just flying.
Why even play killer when survivors are toxic, bm, and all the stress killers have to put up with. Try playing killer yourself and you'll know why.
-
I was able to get it but it took me a few days of several hours each to get. It's something nearly out of your control and the stars gotta align just right to be able to get it. The skill between the killer and everyone else needs to be just right 3 dead but being able to finish that last gen you left at 99%.
As the last survivor left alive can't confirm, but I believe D/C are treated as dead survivors. Need someone that knows the inside of the system to confirm.
The perks i used that helps the most to get this was adrenaline, hope, some chill, and wake up.
-
I have a lot more fun with Ghost face since he can be sneaky and even t-bag the survivors. Myers just stands there and stares so I find him one of the most boring killers to play as.
-
Demo, Plague and Artist don't get tired of them and always feel enjoyable to play as.
-
The slow ADS speed what killed it for me I don't mind the terror radius nerf to much, but really they should've just given him a lullaby like trickster so he can't cheese invisible shots when using M&A. I only play him for dailies now since he's just no longer fun at all to play now when we got huntress, trickster, and several other range/hybrids that are a lot more fun.
Build though BBQ, Agitation, Starstruck, and Scourge Hook.... bird lady small PGtW, W/E it's called.
-
Yes they changed the ruling when it appears few patches ago. Hatch now only appears when there is only 1 living survivor left within the trial regardless of gens.
-
There's 2 separate Blood Point pools. There's the visible 1 million max pool that everyone can see and add to from just playing the game, daily challenges, and tome challenges. The second pool has no limit and the only way to add to that pool are from codes, bonus, gifts from devs or the monthly rank resets.
So lets say your primary pool has 800K BPs and you got gifted 300K, you'll see you have 1.1 million BPs and can still add to your primary pool to get a visible total of 1.3 million BPs. Then you'll be locked there. When spending BPs your bonus BPs are drained first before your primary pool.
That's how it works, it's not bugged or anything.
-
I remember the hassle when I was doing this yes you have to grab them from the trap for it to count off they escape or you just M1 them out won't count.
-
That one was quite annoying too get. I used Alert, Left Behind, Plunder, and Appraisal. Find a key then just do gens and just survive either wait for everyone to leave during EGC or wait until everyone else is dead.
-
One time bump for the new players from Epic if any. Also since new killers
- Pinhead
- Chains are broken by the environment, but some forget you can also break them if another player runs through the chains.
- As Pinhead if you use the perk Lethal Pursuer you can get an idea where the cube spawns. Otz can explain it better than i can since I'm not sure how with just text other than just. It spawns away from you and survivors.
- When holding the cube you cannot drop it or switch it out with another item. You are stuck with it until you solve the cube or get downed
- As Pinhead when you teleport to the survivor messing with the cube you will always be facing directly at the survivor so if there's line of sight blockage you should know where they are.
- As survivor you don't always need to worry about the cube don't immediately just grab it when it appears. Wait until it gets to at least 50% before you go for it and when solving the cube either do it when Pinhead is either carrying a survivor, chasing someone already that's injured, or locate yourself to some strong tiles.
- Artist
- Idle Dire Crows can be destroyed with Flashlights, Firecrackers, or Flash Grenades.
- Swarms in flight can detect you with killer instinct if they just miss you even if your inside a locker
- The aura of the swarm is revealed to the Artist in white at all times, except for when it is being repelled.
- Dire crows in flight will inflict direct damage to you within a 8 meter range as long as it doesn't collide with any object.
- When swarmed it's best to immediately remove them 8 seconds to repeal and Artist has a 5 second cool down when firing a single dire crow so she only gets one shot unless you let go of repeal, vault or touch a pallet which will reset the timer.
- Touching an idle dire crow will only swarm you or reset the timer so if looping try to go at the dire crow from the side or behind so your not in it's flight path.
- Holding W and running to another tile set when you see her setting up crows best counter play against her.
- Pinhead
-
That is adept. If you didn't get it the only reason why is cause of a bug.

Last night I got downed twice by a Wraith while being in a snowman. Bug or did they change this??
Also while I’m healthy and walking in a snowman I get injured when killers hit me.
You need to be fully inside the snow man if you get hit during the animation getting in one then you won't get the protection.
-
Corrupt ehh that's something I only run on Trapper and Demo since they need set up and Plague. Plague bit more gimmicky CI blocks 3 gens and with the 2 add ons I like to use on her that infects objects for +50 seconds that's 3 blocked gens and 4 gens that's infected for nearly 2 min. So the survivors have to decide to not touch any gens at all for the first 2-3min of game, get infected, or do nothing which just buys me time.
@Adjatha said:
Don't change gen times, just make skill checks take SKILL.
Currently, the skill checks are exactly equal difficulty for every player, regardless of skill level. That makes them too hard for new players and a complete joke for experienced players. But what's this? We have a shiny, new MMR number that every player has tied to their profile! How about we use that?
Make skill checks decrease in difficulty for low MMR (easier than current), and massively increase in difficulty as your MMR goes through the roof. Failing skill checks should be a very real possibility for everyone but the absolute cream of the crop. I'm talking super tiny success zones. Super fast dials. Even shrinking the Great zone when you're at the top of the mountain. People like to say playing survivor takes no skill: well, if the SKILL CHECKS actually scaled to your skill, that complaint would go right out the window.
tl;dr - Tie skill check difficulty to survivor mmr and you solve most of this game's problems.
Doctor approves!
-
I think she's fine as is. Playing against her you can't just mindlessly abuse loops anymore and have to think differently and adept to how she's playing to counter her. Mostly just by holding W.
Getting those map wide shots getting swarmed happens fairly often, but getting injured across the map or was either she got a very lucky predicted shot or you allowed her to injure you.
For the reset progress on Crow repeal if progress was kept I could see that seriously hurting to Artist. It's already fairly quick If you immediately attempt to get it off she should only have 1 attempt for the injure unless you let them stay on you.
-
Oppression, surge/jolt, and over charge should get changes to be a lot better. Top 3 worst imo
-
I think it's random and not guaranteed that you'll get one or not when you do get the little snowflakes. Though it'll be nice to know which ones are still available cause I have no idea which ones I have or not. The only 2 I know for certain are the frosty eyes for Artist and Trickster.
-
Maybe the break 18 hooks challenge? By the time the killer got their first down after the pick up with saboteur i saw i ended up destroying all but 1 hook on half the map that she was on. Fun match just rubbing around breaking every hook.
Edit: hate auto correct.
-
She's not that hard to deal with. She slows herself down quite a bit when she's setting up her crows just run to another loop. Just hold W and quickly getting the crows off its her biggest counter play. Her Crow hits are all set up, prediction, and exploiting the survivors mistakes. She also needs to hit you twice unless your out in a clear path and then that's your fault.

Im just wondering how she got the ink Arms ( i know her hands and tongue got Cutted off )
Also im wondering Why her whole mind is like a Crow i mean ahe Moves like a Crow.. she Sounds like a Crow ( mostly because she lost her tongue ) , damn she even moves her Head like a Crow 🤷♀️
For the twins they only really killed in self defense so I don't really count them as active killers. Plague is really iffy she's ancient Babylon so she probably doing it as a sacrifice for w/e gods they believed in and not murder.
She most likely got the ink arms from the entity as aid. Other killers like wraith, plague, blight (maybe) were reformed by the entity while some others were brought back to life when they were at deaths door. Death Slinger, Twins, Trapper, Pig few I can remember.
-
The crows idk there's no explanation on the lore.
Why kidnapped and tortured? Read the lore her paintings had explanation and meaning to them usually something dark. The last one she did had a grim reaper representing the corrupt politics reaping/tormenting their own people. It sent a message and shocked a lot of people and those in corrupt power most likely sent the hit man after her so she can no longer paint or give poetry.
Why kill? IDK i saw no reason either it's likely the same with other killers with no reason to go out and kill. Wraith, Hag, Trapper, Death Slinger, Twins, Plague only ones I can remember that really never wanted to kill by choice.
-
Not making any sense why be more butt hurt over Artist over legion. The crows killer instinct detection range is quite small. Only 4 meters I think. If Legion detects your in the locker your gonna get found or hit if Artist detects your in a locker she's either across the map or far enough away you have plenty of time to get away and relocate. You have a much better chance getting away from Artist than you do Legion. Again your argument is just dumb.
-
I got her to just lvl 50 so I only got 1 page to work with.
BBQ, new scourge hook, no way out, and hex undying.
I'm still experimenting with only undying with no other Hex perks on her. 4 dull totems I see them blessing one well here some crows coming your way to make blessing boons even harder.
-
Something I do that i noticed when taking a character to lvl 50 then stopping at lvl 50. I ignore all trash yellow perks that I don't want except for lvl 1-15 since you got no choice. Take only the perks you want or at least good and let the entity consume the rejects and get those perks up to lvl 3 quickly. Rejecting a yellow perk your not likely to see it again but taking yellow perks your gonna see the upgraded version of it which you really don't want.
IDK if it's cause of that, but I got super lucky with Artist getting BBQ, Ruin, Undying and a few other nice perks just as I got her to lvl 50.
Same thing with pinhead. Got BBQ and few other good perks getting to just lvl 50.
Though by doing this I get only 1 page of usable perks though.
-
I saw then yesterday late night after getting work. PC btw.
Adept for both characters (got both)
Fix the gen inside the large tree/building then escape on the new map. (got it)
Damage X number survivors with crows
Detect 100 survivors with killer instinct. (Don't think it can be cheesed with Legion since it increased very little.)
-
Yes excited for a the new killer and map, but not keeping my hopes up that high since BVHR has a consistent tread releasing a lot of bugs and crashes with every broken patch.
-
I've been taking a break from DbD for about a week. Maybe just save it all for the bird lady or the new survivor they should be released Tuesday if you want either of them.
If not can use then on which ever killer that requires certain add ons that your always using and running low on.
-
Botany with self care is amazing together don't have to waste time with the boon and makes need is a lot longer.
Empathy great for knowing where the killer is. See a injured survivor running around looping you know where the killer is until the survivor either drops or stops running. And for knowing who needs healing.
Kindred one of the best survivor perks in the game.
Premonition I never seen it used except for that one tome challenge and I thought it was garbage.
Spine chill is better and somewhat a noob friendly perk until you get better with your awareness on the killer then you can drop it.
-
Still playable, but not enjoying too play as anymore. The ADS feels clunky as hell now. Star Struck and Agitation are now a really nasty combo for cowboy now.
-
One thing I keep seeing is people making comparison between the 2. Some comparisons are just so stupid they can't be compared like this game has a lot more killers and licensed characters and VHS doesn't....
I really want to see others make comparisons between the 2 when DBD was first released not current DBD.
From what I've seen so far VHS has a much stronger foundation for potential. Old DBD has some horrible problems on release, true infinites, no EGC so survivors can hold game hostage, old hatch stand offs, things were so dark blendetts were pretty much invisible. VHS is still brand new so I can't give it much other than the stronger foundation.
Hell current DBD foundation is still hot garbage, bugs every patch, cheaters, DDoS attacks, crashes, etc, etc. And the devs that holds the authority would rather push out new broken content instead of quality of life fixes this game needs. I hate to see this game die out but when it does I would care less.
-
Yeah if anything all they should have done was give him a lullaby similar to Trickster instead of just making it bigger, but over all I don't mind it to much the slower ADS is what killed it for me.
If they hated cowboy before agitation and star struck is now a really nasty combo on cowboy now. Didn't like my cheesy shots when I used Monitor and Abuse well you're really gonna hate this new combo now.

What are your overall thoughts on Conehead?
Meh, he can be fun both sides. Though bucket head can be the strongest and most frustrating to play against if he decides to hard tunnel you right off the start.
-
All perks related to the hooks never worked with pyramid head cages. Just on of bucket head strength.
-
No, she was the most hated killer in the game for a reason, she still moves absurdly fast while phasing and the new audio que stops the bs stand still mind games. Even when you do hear her, her location is vague and she can't win safe pallets every single time anymore.
Stridor and Iron will? It needed it i haven't seen a single doctor complain about calm spirit.
-
Unnecessary, it'll never get charged to remove a CI and any other entity are both extremely rare and don't even last that long. Interesting idea, but I don't see it ever being used like that.
-
"With the teir 3 evil with in"
I don't know myself but that line makes me believe you have to use the add on and not the morro offering. Unless someone else knows die certain.
It's one of the hardest achievements in the game for luck getting it.
-
Oh also forgot. Since the nerf I've only seen other DS killers maybe twice. They couldn't even land a shot majority of the time most of their hits were just basic M1 hits.
Don't get me started on haddonfeild or in door maps either. When I played DS I knew he was already bad on those maps now you'll never land a shot since the moment you ADS to fire they're already ran around the corner.
-
Might have needed a nerf, but it was done badly now he just feels so bad and clunky to play now. If anything a few needs that I thought IMO would've been better.
- has a lullaby similar that the Trickster has so he can't cheese M&A for those invisible shots.
- can't walk backwards anymore after a spear so there's counter play between the two.
- a tad longer cool down dropping the ADS not firing the gun to do a basic M1. Similar to the small nerf Pyramid head got so can't constantly just fake ADS.
-
A lot of them are garbage, but for my number 1 useless add-on would be one of demo green add-ons the mushrooms that increases his undetectable duration by .5 seconds. Which does nothing for you. Mean while the purple version is 3 seconds Which is at least usuable.
-
It does, but the increase is so small is not noticeable at all.

Hah, I did the same thing once - got desperate and changed my name to 'I need 3 stuns pls" for the "3 stuns as Jane" one. Still took me like 25 matches to find a killer that'd take pity on me. I'll never forget you, Mr. Puddles.
Definitely not looking forward to the 3-stunner in today's chapter. How many times must I bring Smash Hit...
As long as it's not specifically "pallet stuns" I don't mind throwing a game to land a stun on the killer. Head on, DS, Blast Mine and self care and wait until they got you first THEN throw the pallet. One of the few challenges I have fun with.
-
Plague challenge hit 2 survivors with a single stream of red vomit twice in a single match.
The worst ever imo was tome 1 stun the killer 4 times with a pallet in a single match.
Plague is slightly easier since you can AFK by a red fountain and hope the survivors get that you just want to farm that challenge. The 4 pallet stuns in a single game took me 3 or 4 days to get. Since it's impossible to pallet stun certain killers or it has to be some new baby killer player. Only reason I got it was cause the killer just wanted to farm and I even changed my name to "tome 1 4 pallet stuns"
-
Enter cheat code if it works "THEREISNOBOON" to unlock Plague with blood hound and Stridor.
Sounds too similar to the blizzard game cheat code "there is no spoon"
-
After her changes she does feel a lot better to play as and she hard counters all the boon players. I don't have many perks but I've been running BBQ, Corrupt, endurance, spirit fury and mostly the meme at add on.
She ignores boons and pallets what more you want?
-
They might not take proper action until it's too late when the government or who ever starts hitting them hard with law suits.
